Title: mycelium encrypted private key Post by: EdenHazard on April 02, 2021, 07:45:57 AM I have a wallet backup encrypted private key but somehow back in the time when I back this up I forgot to write the 15 character pass down , which makes the wallet inaccessible now.
https://i.ibb.co/d6SG0k3/IMG-20210402-144355.jpg (https://ibb.co/MpbMDPj) Is there any way to decrypt the privkey? So I can pass the 15 character password. No. Mycelium's Single Address Account backup is designed to be safely sent by email and printed. That's only possible because the backup is worthless if you don't write the 15 characters on the printout.Title: Re: mycelium encrypted private key Post by: EdenHazard on April 02, 2021, 09:15:07 PM Is there any way to decrypt the privkey? Title: Re: mycelium encrypted private key Post by: LoyceV on April 03, 2021, 08:45:01 AM So, no chance? For real: I just tried creating a wallet: it gives 15 characters (all caps) and one checksum character. Assuming the checksum isn't needed, that gives 2615 possibilities: 1.677*1021. If you want to try all possibilities in a year, you need to try 53 trillion combinations per second. It's not going to happen any time soon. For real? Even a quantum computer would take a while to get the 15 character formed correctly right? Jeez. I knew it, I just want to make sure if someone experienced the similar thing. One day once bitcoin hit 1 million usd , the coin inside this wallet would be so worthy even if I have to buy a quantum computer personally. Thanks for replying though, I'm on my way finding Other old private key i might missed. Title: Re: mycelium encrypted private key Post by: Bitcoin_Arena on April 09, 2021, 11:26:24 PM Holyshoot... Should I give up on this? There is no other possible way around :( Title: Re: mycelium encrypted private key Post by: LoyceV on April 10, 2021, 06:29:48 AM Take your time to remember all the possible password combinations you could have used. Mycelium creates the 15 random letters, it's not something you get to choose on your own (that wouldn't be as secure). |
