It was really surprising and good news being both Marvel fan and Bitcoin enthusiast as Bitcoin is becoming quite a great topic these days and everyone is showing their willingness to adopt to the most advanced digital and decentralised monetary system.Any Marvel fan here is aslo excited from this?

Due to this news, the people will be probably awaken on what bitcoin is by just including or featuring this into the Marvel it is surely that there would be probably some investors and people attracted on it and maybe on the next few days they will invest on bitcoin. This was probably a great marketing to introduce more on ehat bitcoin really is and wait there's more, the thread also says that it is not just the bitcoin but also the bounties that we might get in bitcoin.

This is amazing. I am also a big marvel enthusiast, as I read comics since I was a little kid.

Certainly a lot of kids and adults (like) will watch this series and will see bitcoin being featured and mentioned. Bitcoin is now getting into our culture, becoming something know. This is adoption.

Btc is slowly penetrating into the mainstream media and expanding adoption in the process,  it is undoubtedly clear that mainstream want to have more interaction with crypto now than before,  this is the more reason why early adopters like us should hold unto our little amount of btc as tight as possible.  :D

It's not that big of a deal, especially since they didn't even talk about Bitcoin seriously but just got in briefly mentioned in a text message. To be honest, they're a little late with Bitcoin. Mr. Robot (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4158110/) has cryptos as one of the central topics of the show; The Big Bang Theory (https://bigbangtheory.fandom.com/wiki/The_Bitcoin_Entanglement) did an episode dedicated to Bitcoin. Big Mouth (https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@hustletoparadise/big-mouth-netflix-show-briefly-mentions-bitcoin-in-episode) mentions Bitcoin, and so does Atypical (https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/9f2icr/some_crypto_love_on_a_netflix_series/). I mean, it's better late than never, but a brief mention like this is probably something that only Bitcoin users will actually notice and appreciate; it's not much publicity-wise.

Am not in admiration of marvel movies, but it's very popular that I hear of some and has had been forced to watch some of the movie under duress -smile- but their movies a becomes very famous, even at the thriller level, I think for critical thinkers that are marvel movies they can get to understand or hear for the first if they haven't sneak peeks about bitcoin, that said I think Bitcoin getting spread sounds now like broken records.

Imagine what that would do to the price, if half the bitcoin in existence suddenly left circulation because the owners of the private keys/wallets ceased to exist. Or if, by chance, all the people who knew how to access some big exchange's cold wallet (or enough of the necessary key holders) were blipped. And then what would happen 5 years later when all these people came back, and maybe found that some exchanges had taken it upon themselves to empty these user's accounts presuming that they would never return.

Also, this series is set in 2024, so that 1000 bitcoin bounty could be worth a lot more than ~$60 million.

Well, that can be a good promotion for bitcoin as many people will watch that films. I think that can make people curious about bitcoin, especially if that is the first time they heard about bitcoin. If those films explain some more things about bitcoin, that can educate people who really do not know much about bitcoin and that can help them to research more later. I am curious about what will happen later, whether that can impact the bitcoin market or not, but to give more support for bitcoin.

Nothing new, tons of other shows has featured this. Mr Robot for example. It is almost always being used with illegal transactions which doesn't give it a good portrayal.

Not saying that it isn't good; bad publicity is still publicity but I would very much like for it to be portrayed positively instead :P.

what a very extraordinary appearance. I am amazed that the film industry is looking to bitcoin. It's surprising that the Marvles studio class isn't interested in bitcoin. and in my opinion the possibility that in the future movie players will be paid using bitcoin? I hope so, because in that way Bitcoin is increasingly friendly with public figures, especially actors in super hero films.

I'm guessing they're just doing their research and trying to figure out if this will put their latest movie ratings on a roll. Bitcoin is becoming a 'hot' topic, it would be stupid to not take advantage of this moment.

How much are the Marvel Studios holding ? This is a more interested topic I do think they are attempting something like Elon Musk , they do want to increase the price of Bitcoins and they honestly have a lot of fans. We should actually see the bets on how high the price is going to go next since there are many other companies attempting the same. Right now what's going on is another attempt of industrial Manipulation.


There is no such thing as illegal transactions honestly. It's more trackable. They are literally digging a hole for themselves if they do not know that and soon enough a lot of Governmental bodies will be after them.

Honestly some things we have to know:
1. They are famous.
2. They have a lot of fans
3. This is bound to boost the popularity of Bitcoins
4. The price might pump.

The truth made me want to watch the series, I didn't want to watch it because I'm an Avengers fan and I don't like the idea of Falcon being the new Captain America, but when I saw the news, I really wanted to watch it just because of the mention of Bitcoin from made in the Spanish section I published the news to share it. Although it may not be something that relevant to many, everything that adds up to good for Bitcoin seems excellent to me.

There are many people who also like everything related to Marvel, and there must be many who do not know Bitcoin, at least when they see that chapter they get stung by the curiosity bee and maybe they start investigating Bitcoin, I see this as something positive.

I watched the latest episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney +. I noticed this text message on a TV show. Thought it was cool thought I'd share. Remember it was a lot cooler than 5 years ago when I entered the bitcoin space, but still nice to see that we are making progress on cultural touchstones.

Yeah right, Bitcoin appearance on this show is just merely a seconds of screen time which is not a good exposure at all. Only Bitcoin enthusiast can appreciate it.

The big bang theory is the best TV show so far that promote Bitcoin very well during one of there episode dedicated for Bitcoin since they briefly explain Bitcoin features such as Mining and the price growth potential with the twist of showing the risk when losing your physical wallet(flash drive).

I actually watched this episode should be S01E03,  but after seeing this scene it was pretty clear they were associating bitcoin with illegality after their boss was killed in the process of her finding out falcon(Sam) was an imposter *spoiler* let me not spoil it for others!
But with these series being watched by millions of people around the world there is no better bitcoin ambassador than the marvel studios when it comes to TV advertising....I guess there is some good in the bad message I show ::)

I already watched ep 1& 2, haven't watched this ep 3 yet. So yes, excited to watched it later this day. Though they said the bitcoin exposure is bit short, still we appreciate that they are now integrating bitcoin here. Though maybe in a bad light, but still it is an exposure to bitcoin market. I see two point, well, the usual the positive ones. While the other is the negative one which might come to those people who are still not in bitcoin.

Just like the prejudice about bitcoin years ago, if they're going to take the context of bounty, they might think that it's only for that use. Well, this is only for those that still don't understand bitcoin and still living in that mindset that it's not possible to be used in every purchase that we do.

But I'm happy to see it being included in one popular series.

So it was shown into that illegal side aspect, well not a surprising thing but anything that do connects out with exposure then thats already a good advertisement towards bitcoin.

Yes, I'm sure many of us here are a big fan of Marvel and we grow up with all these super heroes. And this is another good news for the fans and bitcoiners. And for those who are a fan and not into bitcon, the exposure will somewhat open their eyes to what BTC is, so this is a good exposure and marketing for us, win-win situation.

You might've misunderstood the entire topic.

The hit with the bounty in Bitcoins was referenced in the show. If this doesn't sound illegal to you, then I'm not sure what jurisdiction you live in. It is fictitious so no government or law enforcement would come after them. I don't expect them to have any impact, no one other than Bitcoiners would care that they referenced Bitcoin in their shows. After all, who doesn't know that Bitcoin exist?

We have past that time where you need advertisement for bitcoin, everyone knows about bitcoin even though majority have not invested in it, the movies are showing bitcoin because it is the trend of the financial world and people can relate to it. If they have shown about bitcoin in 2015 or before then we could say that it was a good advertisement but not anymore.

But still don't you think this is a good advertisement still in 2021? Many known bitcoin according to you, but what they haven't invested on it? In any case, whenever we hear Bitcoin in tv or in movie, we should consider this a free marketing to our community. Bitcoin though has been mentioned before, and yet only a few are really influence by these shows. Although we may say that we don't like how they portray Bitcoin here.

Marvel is very huge and with that promoted it gonna make btc more popular. I hope more big company gonna promote btc so my expectacion to see btc $100k in this year can happen.

First, it is not Marvel's first time. Marvel's movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2019 mentioned Bitcoin, particularly making subtle ridicule of its volatility. However, this isn't Marvel's first time either. In 2018, Marvel's comics Hunt for Wolverine – Adamantium Agenda #1 also made reference to it.^[1]

Second, this recent reference to Bitcoin is based on a rather obsolete understanding, or misunderstanding, of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has long come out from the underground and has been hitting the mainstream.

Definitely, with a big fanbase, Marvel is going to really be a good avenue for promoting bitcoin even if it was used as a bounty, I have never watched any of the series since Disne+ is not available in my country. I do hope too that more big company will promote bitcoin but it is going to be difficult to convince them since they have to protect their interest too and some of those interest isn't going to align with bitcoin.

Not quite really surprising especially now that Bitcoin has soared to an unbelievable figure, so it's already expected.
 I have seen Bitcoin symbol a couple of times in a vlog and movies before, I mean nothing much special about it since It wasn't really tackled about and just a mere exposure.
Though, It could be a good promotional appearance for Bitcoin but for those people who doesn't know about crypto wouldn't recognize and appreciate it anyway.

Personally I believe Marvel studio is the best comic and superhero producing company. This is a great news for the crypto community. Marvel adopting bitcoin shows how fast and how massive bitcoin is being adopted in the mainstream world. Bitcoin Bad Stigma is still very much alive and yet again Marvel presented Bitcoin in some bad light, connected with killers, illegal stuff and some shady bounties, and not like one of the best investments in human history and tool for freedom.
This bad propaganda probably started with Silk Road but it's slowly evolving and changing in time, and Bitcoin was also mentioned in CSI, Almost Human, Billions...

Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) is a movie with Jamie Foxx is selling drugs for Bitcoin in one scene.
Superfly (2018) is a movie about drug dealer who swaps cash for crypto.
Crypto (2019) is a story about corruption and fraud with crypto.

I’m a huge MCU Fan! Been watching all movies since the first Iron Man up to the current series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I’m just blown away with them referencing the Bitcoin bounty! But don’t forget that the first MCU movie who referenced Bitcoin in one of the clips was “Ant Man and The Wasp”.

I just hope that Marvel would be creating their own NFT marketplace like the NBA Top Shot, Veve, etc.

It might not have short term price effect on Bitcoin but with Marvel once again mentioning Bitcoin in their series is definitely a good and positive sign of it's adoption.Marvel has huge fan base with average 62% of Americans being Marvel Fan and earning billion of dollars in form of revenue.This types of short scenes by such reputed production houses will have impact on Bitcoins growth in future.Who knows they start using Bitcoin in more wider term in their super Hero films and comics in the long run.

Thats surprising considering the open minded advertisement from the big company like Marvel. Since they huge fan base, all of them gonna be surprised by it and may turn into crypto geeks soon.

However, I have seen that many other series has shown the use of bitcoin or at-least stated the word bitcoin / crypto currency.

Recently series named "BLACK-LIST" featuring on the Netflix has been using the bitcoin multiple times. The criminal and FBI based series shows how criminals are transferring funds in Bitcoin form to do the evil stuff.

The main character Raymond Redington being the lead character, himself use bitcoin for his asset keeping and much more.

So yes, bitcoin is now everywhere! Bag it, Hold it, enjoy it.  :P

Normal people will see it that way, but wiser ones will see through it, that Bitcoin is just like any other currency that can be used legally and illegally, and it all depends on the person who holds it.  Though I couldn't agree more that this kind of exposure/advertisement is really on the next level.

To be honest the exposure in the episode is barely noticeable. The bounty message is on screen for under two seconds, and the Bitcoin plaintext symbol is barely perceivable whilst reading the message on the screen, with no explicit verbal mentions to bitcoin thereon.

There’s way more noise made by explaining the fact (and associating it to Marvel as an enhancer), than what can actually be perceived.

This proves that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are appearing more and more in life, people are talking about BTC more.
As long as such news appears more and more, the world will one day accept BTC.

I think The Good Wife was the first TV series to feature Bitcoin at length though. At the time it was amazing to see that Bitcoin had made it to Hollywood.

It sure is and it's things like that, ads that feature popular characters, movies and celebrities are the ones that stay in people's minds and get remembered by association.

Especially young people will see this and remember the bitcoin sign. It may not turn into sales because young people usually don't have a lot of money and they don't run to an exchange to buy some coins but they'll have that thought in the back of their heads and this is important.

Bitcoin is becoming a part of the pop-culture and this is completely normal.
I don't think that many people will take Bitcoin seriously,if BTC gets shown is some Marvel movie.

This is good, this is really a good way to introduce bitcoin to people, we know how popular marvel is, a lot of people who are waiting for this fiction movie, by this a lot of people may get curious about bitcoin and some won't mind about it but still a good thing for the crypto community. We are now moving little by little and hoping that we could see mass adoption shortly, a lot of good news related to bitcoin happened most of the day.

It is a good news indeed, and I assume that it will surely hit the bitcoin market to it's new ATH, and I also assume that this might make people aware about the existence of bitcoin in the world of currenxy even if it is in digital world. Marvel featuring bitcoin on their poster will surely make peole know bitcoin and curiousity may arise on them. Marvel was a huge name in the world of entertainment and people really know about it and i may assume also that they may feature bitcoin on one of their movies too soon.

I have gotten excited reading the title altogether—Marvel and BTC in the same line. I like how Marvel's storytelling is going; that's why I like their movies a lot.

Anyway, I'm not sure how it will be reacted by most people since having a bounty to get someone killed and BTC is the transaction. Bitcoin is really exceeding our expectations. It's now reaching even famous names which simply means that it's being recognized by big companies. It will surely attract more people especially those who are supporting Marvel for years. They're not really "adopting" bitcoin by making it part of one of their plots--they're just being as hip and modern as they know how, because they know it'll make their product more attractive to the younger generation.  That's my very cynical interpretation of this, but I have to confess that I do think it's pretty damn cool anyway.

I'm actually surprised that bitcoin hasn't been incorporated into more movies/TV shows than it has.  Maybe we'll see that change eventually, but the progress has been slow thus far.  Anyway, props to Marvel for this!

You forgot to mention Silicon Valley tv show. They had this few whole episodes about crypto currencies. If I remember correctly Gilfoyle even made a presentation on how crypto currencies work (and how much he regrets for not investing in Bitcoin) and what ICOs and stuffs are. This was incredibly great to know because as a fan of Marvel. Cinematic Universe (MCU) who have been watching tons of their movies ever since it was started, it is really great to know that they have at least showcased showing Bitcoin even with just a glimpse because it is already an opportunity to be given into a certain product being shown in a movie or television even just a second as part of marketing strategy. With this, many MCU fans will surely be happy to know this specially if they are into using Bitcoin and for those who are not, they will surely get curious about it to start wondering what Bitcoin is for sure.

I was expecting for longer exposure when I first encountered this thread, as I haven't seen that episode yet. But after watching the episode 3, the exposure is just very very short, wherein most of the viewers may not noticed it or just let it pass. But of course, for those familiar with BTC, they will understand it. I hope to see more exposure of BTC in a good light.
