Title: What is the cheapest way to buy bitcoin?
Post by: yat97 on April 13, 2021, 05:23:18 PM
If you live in the USA and cant buy it on binance.

(Binance totally locked up my account for some reason and wont get back with me, which is whatever because I didn't have any crypto on it anyways... and I guess they think I'm trying to do something against their rules as they wont let me create another account)

You might be creating an account on Binance.com if you are living in the USA then you should make an account on binance.us it's for us residence only.

Or if it still doesn't work you can try to buy Bitcoin with the square cash app it's an easy way to buy bitcoins and they support debit and master cards except for VCCs.

Well if you want to buy it at lower price then market price maybe offline buy. I know people were selling BTC like 2-3% lower price. Now that is a lot riskier and it's not easy to find someone for that. Hand to had sell can be really risky be careful.

Coinbase pro has cheap fee structure and and all you need to do is to link your bank account then start buying bitcoins from there for almost instant. But if you are looking to buy BTC below the market price then you need to find someone personally who wants to sell bulk amount of BTC at once or in few trades without the intervention of banking and exchanges to avoid tax reporting.

Because you live in US so that your account is locked. Kindly move to https://www.binance.us/en/home in order to make account. The US government has created laws in order to collect tax and trace people activities in the crypto world. That is why it is stricter to invest while living in the USA

What about coinbase? I think their price must be economical because of being the largest exchange in US. I do not have a chance to use their services because I am living in a third world country

Yes, Binance is one of the cheapest way to buy Bitcoin in the US and if Binance locked up your account for some reason it mainly because you sign up on Binance.com instead of Binance.us but if you canll have problem with that best alternative are cashapp, coinbase, kraken or coinmama.

According to news portal sourcess us has maximum option to buy bitcoin. You can buy from lots of options but you should have an account on binance.us which is only for us person. But if you do not want the you can choose coinbase. Which is also a top most crypto currency buy / sell Platform and wallet too. You also can choose p2p option. Or you can choose paypal also. Which could be easy and might be cheapest. Just research on it and i hope you will get a better solution for you. All the best for your crypto journey.

If you live in the USA and cant buy it on binance.

Aside from Binance USA that others mostly suggest, you can check if there's a local Bitcoin ATM around your area. Instructions including all associated fees should be stated there as you operate it.

Refer here: https://coinatmradar.com/

Fees-concern, at some point, you really need to hug any fees even you don't find it convenient.

No, I won't, I won't suggest buying Bitcoin on an ATM machine, they had terrible fees.  In exchange, if you're willing to hug the fees about $5-10 it might double when you are in a Bitcoin ATM machine which makes you frustrated.  :D

IMO, it might good for Coinbase pro since this exchange is US-friendly and regulated.  They had the lowest fees available for US and EU customers and I have heard possible zero fees if I'm not mistaken.

Alternatively, it might also good if you will choose a P2P exchange like Bisq.

Binance.com blocked users from the US (https://www.coindesk.com/binance-ramps-up-crackdown-on-us-users-giving-them-14-days-to-withdraw-funds) from using their platform some time back.

Apart from Binance.US the other best alternatives are p2p exchanges like bisq, hodlhodl or loclacryptos

cryptowisser can also help you d some filtering on exchanges that are US trader friendly - https://www.cryptowisser.com/exchanges/?coins=&fee=2.0&continent=&us_allowed=on&finder=1

Please before using any suggested exchange, do some research. read through their ToS.

I think so too, lots of other great alternatives. If you can't, then don't force it, there are many other exchanges that you can use for your needs. In fact, there are even better ones.

All exchanges will certainly provide the best service and comfort for their customers. Various methods are used to attract customers and each exchange is different, such as giving discounts or giveaways, for example. Make sure you choose an exchange that is official and can be trusted. Because, there are fake exchanges that provide promotions with big profits, in order to attract customers to be taken advantage of, or to be cheated later. Maybe you already know, which exchanges are official and not. However, there are also beginners here, who knows this can help them.

Don't, stick to the promotion, all exchanges must have a license. So if suddenly someone tells you, by registering yourself with the company, saying you will get a big profit from the company, you should not believe it first. You can find out in advance about the company, how its reputation, contributions, achievements, and the level of its customers - customers. Find out in advance about various things - things about the company before you register and deposit your funds.

Binance US, lower trading volumes + fewer pairings than the international finance (is that right even?) since it specifically caters for US citizens. Other than that, there's also Coinbase and Kraken which is well trusted and great reputation across the community. Ofc, the cheapest way imo would probably be p2p trading though that involves a bit more process you have to manage (which I am not familiar of), but if you want convenience, then these exchanges should work out well for you.

Man. The first bitcoin because I was desperate to get in months back. I bought bitcoin when it was only 40 something thousand dollars. You know how much the bitcoin ATM charged me? I bought it at its price of 58 or 59K

I just recently broke even on it. I really thought I was FOMO-ing in and it was gonna dump. I was kinda prepared for that but was just desperate to get just some for the sake of saying I had some because at the time I didn't want to do KYC verification and couldn't figure out how to do it online from home. But never again. I bet they're probably charging 80k for bitcoin now. Probably a reason I never ever saw literally anyone ever buy from that thing except for me of course. Oof.

Luckily later I found one that only charged a bit less and got some more on that one. But yeah. I'm thinking I need to get into peer to peer. As risky as that sounds. Anyone want to buy some say... walmart gift cards for bitcoin? lmao

I'm gonna try coinbase. or coinbase pro?

My first bitcoin I got from an ATM for anoninimity. Now, I'm gonna just use a bitcoin mixer now that I know about it.

Yup coinbase is the best way to get bitcoin for US, but Binance.us is also build for US residents. So you can create another account there to keep using binance services.

I don't know what you are talking about the way to buy a bitcoin at cheapest way, I would take a guess and I would say that that the cheapest way is to buy in small amounts, there you can grow your bitcoin and continually accumulate bitcoin. I don't think that there is a cheaper way to buy bitcoin anymore.

Coinbase pro is cheaper as I said but it maybe hard to understand their interface when you first enter but you will get used to it.

For mixing bitcoins, you can use chipmixer which works on every browser not like others but don't forget mixing bitcoins can break the traces but it doesn't give you 100% anonymity.

besides Binance there are many other exchanges that you can use as a place to buy Bitcoin...
currently, there are many CEX and DEX at low cost and that certainly won't make you bother buying Bitcoin even though you are a US citizen. *for today nothing is difficult 'lol'

Ah, but you can't beat the convenience of a BTC ATM.  And by the way, not all of them charge the same fees.  I've found that the Coinflip machines are fairly reasonable compared to some of the others I've used--but obviously there are less expensive ways to buy bitcoin in the US.

Binance.com blocked users from the US (https://www.coindesk.com/binance-ramps-up-crackdown-on-us-users-giving-them-14-days-to-withdraw-funds) from using their platform some time back.
I didn't click on that link, but my understanding was that Binance only blocked users in certain states, not all US users entirely (which would defeat the purpose of having a US-specific site anyway).  As an aside, I'm in one of those excluded states and it sucks.  I really liked using Binance.

I'd echo those who suggested Coinbase, even though I think they suck as well.  If you're just looking for an exchange to buy bitcoin at a reasonable price, Coinbase will do the job just fine as long as you don't send your coins to gambling sites or violate any of their rules--they'll nuke your account at the drop of a hat.

I think you can use coinbase. Maybe coinbase is most popular exchange in usa. I found some big purchase history from coinbase. So, I think coinbase is safe to buy btc.

You mean binance was the only way for you to buy bitcoins for cheaper fees?

I assume you look for lesser exchange fees as practically no one could sell you bitcoins for below market rates.

I am sure if you are looking for cheapest way to buy bitcoin then you must focus only on real time P2P trading where do not need to pay any fee as you will be paying fiats to a real person. Also, there are possibilities to save on bitcoin prices as well if seller is too eager on getting fiats on hand.

I don’t think you can segregate the bitcoin from different exchangers to buy them at lower rates. More or less the rates are always equal on every exchanger.

After reading some comments above I guess you are looking for lower fees? May be you can try p2p purchase for that matter! The fees are very less for these escrows and you can have smooth transactions with negotiated prices.

There does not seem any other way to bug it cheaper.

Bitcoin ATMs would surely do. It depends on where you're located though, so it is either few blocks away from you or you still might need to travel.
I read as well in Bitcoin Discussion thread that there are some ATMs that require government-issued IDs, so make sure you have it with you just in case.

Check this for location of Bitcoin ATMs around your area: https://coinatmradar.com/

Residents of USA are not enjoying Binance at all. Asides the regular lock of the exchange, they cant buy most of the coins other purchase from non US residents. Response of Binance support is also very slow compare with other countries. You might likely have to get on other exchanges from Europe that have newer coins eg cointigers. Kraken and Coinbase are USA based exchange that can serve better.

You should asked them why your account was locked and maybe you’re registering to the wrong site since there’s an exclusive Binance site for US only so you might want to double check this one again.

Binance P2P is the cheapest way to accumulate Bitcoin, it doesn’t collect fee but you might want to confirm the conversion rate first before buying. There’s so many restrictions with the US citizen read their terms and conditions as well.

Is there no other crypto exchange that you can use to buy bitcoin except binance? Try to find other crypto exchange where you will be able to buy bitcoin using dollar or any other form of payment method. Also you can buy through a local exchange in your country or directly buy to a person with bitcoin, I think its much cheaper than buying on exchange.

Buying Bitcoin in a cheap price value and I think its not possible due to the price for real was too expensive. But there are other exchange now that are not under in U.S, why don't you try to use Kucoin or create an account here, or Bithumb Global, Houbi and more that is open to U.S resident, just give it a try now dude.

It seems you're right and thank you for correcting me, the whole thing I know was they had the same fee whatever machine it is, and glad to know that Coinflip is a charged only 6.99% of fees which is almost the same on the exchange, IIRC, it's 7% something.

And here's what I have found (https://techengage.com/low-transaction-fees-are-key-to-bitcoin-atm-success).

I tend to agree and recently I received an email from them, it's a zero fee and other cryptocurrencies for the cheaper price and there are 100+ payment methods upon purchasing Bitcoin.

This is not the season some exchange provide the best service for their customers or use some various method to attract customers because more customer will join the crypto investment and this usually make every exchange site to experience huge traffic and some unresolved situation this day.

there are fake exchanges that provide promotions with big profits, in order to attract customers to be taken advantage of, or to be cheated later. Maybe you already know, which exchanges are official and not.
This is one of the strategy used by crypto currency scammer but there is a list of almost all reputable exchange site here.

However, there are also beginners here, who knows this can help them.
The idea of asking beginners (newbies) for help is unwholesome and I will advise not to do that.

Don't, stick to the promotion, all exchanges must have a license.
It not all good exchange that have license and the last time I checked license is only important for centralized exchange.
