Firstly, invest only what you are willing to lose. Ask yourself if you are fine with losing your $1000 in the worst case scenario. If you are fine with it, proceed to do a good deal of research related to the cryptocurrencies that you are interested in.

I advise sticking to popular cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, LTC etc since they won't just disappear one day out of the blue. Invest smartly!

You should know what cryptocurrencies are and how volatile they are. And the best cryptocurrency for newbies to invest in is none other than bitcoin. It's the best choice that you can invest with that $1,000 bucks that you have.

The best strategy that I can suggest to you is to buy and hold first. Newbies are likely to easily lose their money because you don't know what you're doing. Practice first through crypto trading simulation which you can search on google.

Looking for an investment to hodl for the long term is different from trading, traders (especially short term ones) try to take advantage of quick changes in the market and doesn't necessarily need the trader to fully trust the coin or asset; if you expect a coin to drop in price, you can short it and go long for those you expect to rise.

If you're looking for a currency to buy with $1000, first consider those qualities that makes you not want to hold your fiat currency, then look for the currency which solves those problems effectively.

No. Just stop there.
If you don't know what you're doing, you'll end up very easy losing all the funds invested.
The first rule is to invest only what you afford to lose. But you have to also know what you are doing, crypto trading is not something like putting 1000$ in the field and in the autumn you'll have a tree full of 1000$ bills.

That is a lot of money in my country so I would be careful when I have that much money. What @Haunebu advices is pretty much enough for a newbie to go on his own because newbies like me and OP don't need a lot at first and having too many at the platter at first is going to be overwhelming.

Title: Re: Cryptocurrency trading
Post by: noorman0 on April 15, 2021, 11:17:40 AM
At first, choose exchanges that have a good reputation and are running well according to your country's regulations (some exchanges ask for KYC even low balances, read the ToS carefully).
Actually I don't want to suggest short-term trading for beginners because of the high risk. However, if you persist, please invest most of your capital at least 80% in bitcoin to hold over the long term (recommended to keep in a personal wallet), and 20% in top altcoins like ethereum or BNB for your short-term trading.

A strong warning, OP you can lose 100% of your money due to high cyrpto volatility, and due to cases such as hacks and loss of access to your own assets.

Be careful if you want to enter cryptocurrency trading. I suggest you learn some lesson about trading before you enter the market. You can search from Google using the keyword "how to trade crypto" to find many basic lessons to learn to trade. After you know the trading point, you can download the Binance app, register and load the money to your account, or buy bitcoin first and send it to your account.

Maybe you can use $100 to learn and practice from your lesson because using $1,000 while you do not have any experience will be too risky for you. If you use $100 and make a profit, just stick with that amount and do not temp to use bigger money until you understand how to trade better.

For the coin pick, I suggest you try with bitcoin, ethereum, bnb, litecoin, trx because I think that coin is good enough to trade and make a profit. You can trade many other coins, but you should learn more lesson to pick the right coin.

For starter. You should buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin and stake it on exchange which offers staking for this coin so that you can earn passive income while learning trading. Study first all the basic of trading including candlestick fundamentals before you start buying small caps altcoin since its very risky due to its nature of too volatile. Don't buy any small caps altcoins for starters. This will save you a lot of money during your newbie trading days.

Stick to buying and holding for now. Forget about day-trading and promises of big profits. Bigger fishes eat the smaller fishes. For one successful and profitable crypto trader, there will be dozens who lost money. Guess which group those with no experience with trading will fall into?

Before you begin trading with real money, you need theoretical knowledge. You need to get yourself acquainted with the trading platforms, terminology, charts, etc. Most of your portfolio should be in bitcoin, and with the rest you can purchase those coins you personally believe to have a future. That requires doing your own research and not just listening to the advice of random people (including myself).

You should need to use no more than $10 to learn about how the crypto market works today. Please, lean before try to do anything with it dude.

This is a very good suggestion because you wanna deal with high-risk high investment and then you must know you can lose your money anytime. You should know all of the risks and then learn more about that.
Forget to rush the crypto market. You can't depend on the suggestion of others. Try to use a small amount of money.

Try learning things about trading first, I can promise that if you rush things, You will end up complaining about everything on crypto. Personally my advise is that you need to look for less volatile coins so you can have little ways to learn while trading because of your lack of experience. You can avoid trading bitcoin pairs or maybe Ethereum. Trade on less volatile coins , read and research more .

Or maybe use a demo account first then use that amount of money to trade a coin if want to get real experience. If a coin to guess, maybe SFP, TKO, and BNB still in my choice now. But DWYOR.

You should spend more time to learn and participate trading because it is ignorant to trade without having certain knowledge. There are many things to learn in trading but I guess you can master the fundamental parts within a month.

Youtube is one of the best source for trading. Buying books on amazon is a good option, too.

In this case I always suggest the newbie to watch some videos related crypto trading in native language to get some basic idea shortly. Then try to create account on trusted exchange like binance. Try to buy sell little amount first. Then go for big. In trading world there is nothing alternative of leering about it. Without learning you may lose a huge amount even all of your portfolio. So atleast learn basic about trading before going to trade.

if you want to buy with 1000 dollars then I will suggest you to buy bitcoin for the first time.

First of all, you are welcome to the forum and crypto space.
Cryptocurrency is not where someone can enter and start buying crypto without knowing proper steps to take before embarking on acquiring coin, as a newbie like you, find the nearest instructor to teach you how to download the best custodial wallet, keep your keys, and start storing coin, trading wouldn't be good for you to start. Telling you the coin to buy would rather be a financial advice, and if it goes wrong, I am to be blamed.

In as much as you can send and receive coin, that should be a perfect congratulatory move you have taken, I would advise you to buy any reputable coin listed on exchange built on Binance smart chain., Good luck.

You can enter buying doge coin, what I heard about this asset is because of Elon Musk twitts. Definitely his statements is key towards a good future for this cryptocurrency. It earned a lot of praises from many people who've been following this asset for several years, and now this is the time that it has been backed up with a whale like him who invested huge capital. That $1k is worth to grow for more years and I believed someday you'll be earning your profit gains with a bigger smile.

Lots of similar questions that I have encountered these days are being asked by newbies. If you really want to invest in cryptocurrency,
start investing in crypto which is popular and has high volume. Such as BTC, BNB, ADA, DOT and ETH. Because the coins I mentioned will be
safer to buy, because they have a high demand, so maybe the price will go up faster. Instead of choosing low volume coins, which are
very difficult to increase and possibly become dead coins.

With $1000 sure you can trade but it shouldn't be that you go all in on one coin. I'd say go with several and try to watch charts and fundamentals if you have the time. If you don't mind being in front of a monitor and doing some analysis then futures are not bad. For spot trading making money with $1000 can't be very reliable I think.

For a beginner if you want to trade crypto try to buy low risk coins like bitcoin or ethereum on the exchange. Your basic strategy is that you buy at the lowest price and sell at the high price when you have made a profit. I think it's the best technique and you can do it easily

Sometimes new traders will make mistake buying wrong coins,
Buy popular top coins although profit may be small btw it less risky to your investment and if you capable to long rolling, top coins will ensure enough profit.

BTC,ETH,BNB,XRP,LTC all of leading and high volume coins.

Buy top coins and that's more than enough to give you decent profit with low risk potential to lose your money.
You will get less from what you have expected but this far better consider you will also got less risk as well. If you can deal with the risk and you can go for medium altcoins which can give you better profit than major coins but again the choice is yours whether you wanna put your money into the risk or not.
Becareful when choosing altcoins because there are lots of scam coins on low tier crypto.

Learn how market works in order to prevent some projects which not really make good profits after all.. Gain some knowledge first.. Actually that amout of money is enough to start trading.. You agree that you are having no experience in trading then definitely it is not the time for you to get into cryptocurrency trading. Just invest your $1000 and focus on learning basics of trading. Trading in crypto space is more dangerous one unlike you could imagine about.

I'm not kidding but I'm just talking about the real facts. There are lots of methodologies are available to become profitable trader in considerable quicker time but you must need lots of dedication and efforts to achieve that stage in cryptocurrency trading. Entering cryptocurrency trading is not as easy as you think, Moreover, you say you don't have any experience in the crypto field at all. Before you enter the crypto market, the first thing to do is first learning how the cryptocurrency market works. You can learn from friends how to invest properly and correctly or find information from trusted sources.

In investing, you must measure the financial capabilities you have, the higher the profit you can get, then the risk of losing will be even greater.
As a newcomer to the crypto market, it will be much safer if you choose to trade with a capital that is not too big first. Because trading in the crypto market does not have to require large capital, the important thing is that you can do it with a mature plan and not be greedy.

You could also divide up your available money into categories. Take 10% for a gamble in order to learn how those high risk investments work, take 30-40% for some bigger alt coins like XMR or TRON or Cardano, and the rest for the most well established like BTC and ETH.

With such a strategy you are exposed to all the risks and opportunities and probably benefit from the best learning curve you can have.

Very true. There's no need to rush upon investing in the crypto market. He can buy quickly if he wants to but buying without understanding what you're buying is throwing money.
The only crypto that's good for newbies without further researching is bitcoin but I don't encourage that. He still has to know what bitcoin is for his own sake.

Do you have an idea how many people fully understood Bitcoin before investing in it? I bet it was maybe 5 - 10% who had a decent idea when they decided to put money into it. I am sure not even today do most people fully understand the complex implications Bitcoin brings about.

They are just going with the herd, which is what many people do in many situations. Typical example for fear of missing out.

If you have $1000, my suggestion you really need to buy :

1. $500 on ARPA;
2. $300 on BNB;
3. $200 on VET.

those 3 coins are my top suggestion list that you should invest or trading both in a short-term or long-term investment.
those 3 coins are keep growing and keep breaking their ATH. So if you really wanna make a trading, those 3 coins are my best top 3.
i hope it's gonna be useful for you. good luck !

If you are trying to learn trading then just go to the pair BTCUSDT because this is where most of the traders are trying to trade in where the volume is going. You don't buy an altcoin where you could trade well unless you join the sideways consolidation of those tokens which most investors will likely hold until its ATH. $1000 I think is enough but buy at least a fraction of BNB for the trading fee.

Yes, watching and following high volume trading pair will be definitely get us more depth knowledge about market fluctuations. Because, when your trading pair is having high volume definitely it will be obeying all the technical and fundamental things as no one could manipulate the direction on their own benefits.

$1000 I think is enough but buy at least a fraction of BNB for the trading fee.
That must be really practically useful suggestion but I'm not seeing OP is mentioning anywhere about that they are going to trade in binance. Anyway, looking to save on exchange fee must be a good approach as these days we are paying a lot for transactions fees.

Because you will be risking your life if you did, then why do you want to enter the market when you have no experience and most likely no knowledge about the markets either? I agree with you. holding is the key point to success in cryptocurrency world. It is not necessary to trade cryptocurrency because holding is the best thing to do and every 3 years, you will earn a huge profit just from holding

Trading requires more skill and knowledge and it is frustrated. Do not trade recklessly or you will lose your money in just a few click

I recommend you to buy binance coin because it is one of the most promising coin on the network. If you want to learn more about binance coin, you should read the binance smart chain first. BSC will soon become the technology that replace ethereum blockchain

You can invest $1000 and in Bitcoin or Ethereum or ADA coins. But of course, do an analysis in advance whether it is worth buying at the current high price. Buy the coin when the price is corrected. But if you are not in a hurry, you should enter the bearish market, because now crypto is bullish. That I suggest because you have no experience at all in trading. Because you will lose in this trade. Join group trading just to just share and get the science of trading. But it's certainly not a paid group.

But I will recommend to do the exact opposite of what you said; 70% into bitcoins. Because, it will be a wise move if you invest more into highly secured and high returning asset rather than risking into random things. In my opinion altcoins investments are too risky even the current scenarios are completely different from my view.

Moreover I will never recommend anyone to get into for the purpose of trading crypto because that will be multiply your risks into 1000x but at the same time you can enjoy big profits just being an investor by choosing only bitcoins.

Though there's a slight price declination, but that doesn't stop the traders to purchase this crypto because of Elon Musk warm support for this project. Popularity is very important, that's why I also gained an optimum trust towards this to become sustainable asset in the future and that $1k is worth it.

If you want to invest in the crypto world then you must first learn how to find a good coin to invest in, and currently many coins that we can rely on because all potential coins are at the best value for us to hold, then we must be able to benefit for now so that we enjoy the results at a time when bitcoin and other altcoins are at the highest value this year.

Easily if you are really interested in investing in bitcoin. because after all altcoins follow bitcoin price movements. the question is when is the right time. Is this the right moment to invest when the market is bullish? in my opinion for now you have to be careful, especially bitcoin is in a bullish condition and has not undergone a correction

$1000 to buy BNB every launch pad, i think some of coins that get Binance Launchpad get good price when listed in it. Or maybe just sell BNB that you have because if launchpad means people will but BNB to commit and more BNB means more they can get the coin that still in launchpad.

Without any doubts, they should go only with bitcoin investments; yes you must invest all your $1000 only with bitcoin because when you are not having any experience and knowledge about crypto trading then you should go for investing rather than struggling with trading. Cryptocurrency trading is something you could not imagine because it will wipe out all your $1000 in matter of minutes. So, always try to secure your capital first and then you will easily get chances two multiply it.

If you're ready to hold your $1000 worth of bitcoin for next 4 years then definitely you will find your money worthing $10k for sure. I am just speculating from what they have experienced in last eight years. I mean anything could happen but the chances for what I have mentioned is having more than 90% chances to happen in real life.

I think you can separate your investment 70 - 30. you can invest 70% in top ten crypto coin at the market, meanwhile 30% you can invest in bitcoin.
It will be better for you to study first about crypto trading to minimize the risk of losing. Also I dont suggest you to buy small caps altcoins because I think its to volatile.

This is the best advice I have found so far. OP you can follow this instruction to maximize your portfolio

In order to make good investment in altcoins, you need to have further research. There are likely thousands of altcoins and one mistake can destroy your balance.

First, you need to move this thread to the right section which is the trading discussion, second, trading is not like an investment that once you have capital, you can just buy in trading you require skills that will guide you during trading to avoid losses.
Trading is not an easy venture and as a novice without good knowledge of trading your chances of making profits are slim and you might even lose your funds in the process.

Easy at it is, if you are aiming for long term investment then placing your money into bitcoin or known alts are the best thing to do, there's no doubt that along the way bitcoin value will rise for more.

It's important for you to analyze since the market is really volatile and there are many up and down that will undergo inside the market.

But with your concrete undertansding you'll be able to compensate and earn decently from this business.

Not all altcoins were able to recover whenever the price dump, other altcoins mght not really move on  from it. I have some coins which have values before but tirns to nothing now. We must try which time can sold many and try to learn trading. Our profit in trading will depend on bow good we are in trading.

If you want big profits, of course you have to dare to take big risks in trading, because if you just want to play it safe in trading, of course you won't be able to get a profit and only stick to the capital you have right now, even so before you do trading you should check and check market conditions before deciding which altcoin you want to invest in.

It's also a bad suggestion for him even ETH and BNB are the major coins but remember that it's not impossible for him to suffer the loses caused by he was entering at the wrong time.
Try to spend a small amount to trade is far better than try to join in the major coin without 0 knowledge about that.
OP needs to learn before try to join in the cryptocurrency trading.

If I were you who had $1000 then I would put everything in doge. I do not care about any issues circulating about the doge, because so far with such old coins and also, there has been an incoming adoption from a very influential person so of course the doge has a good future. Even before the big investors entered I believed that the doge had a long future which of course the price would continue to rise from time to time.

Dogecoin may remain a good choice only when you are opting for long-term holding or at least you must be ready even you will be enforced to hold for years. Because there will be no guarantee from those billionaires to continue their pumping for the remaining months of this year. Anything could happen in this crypto space and getting ready to face such things is the only action we should do along with investing into any coin.

Personally I will invest into dogecoins as well but not for all $1000. But for the current prices of most altcoins, I guess we could not get any big share for $1000 still I will try to diversify along with BNB and litecoins because I am believing these two to continue for the remaining months of this year because people are expecting most crypto will be having final ATH by the end of this year.

This can be a dangerous decision for the trader and the reason for that decision may be the situation of exiting the market. Dogecoin has already pumped a lot, many are worried about the consequences of Dogecoin in the coming days. The big influencers who get money tell people in different ways to buy those coins, it is not right to trust them. He should advise a new trader in such a way that he can feel safe, telling him to buy dogecoin means to influence him in a different way.

I disagree, someone that is completely new to this market should not trade it and instead use the next months to learn everything that he can about this market and trading and investing in general, it seems people have the idea that they can become rich in this market, and that is true but they think they can do it easily by just investing in a coin and earn a fortune that way, and we know things do not really work like that so a person like him will lose all their money even if they invested in solid coins.

A good starter for newbies is to buy bitcoin and I can't agree more with that. Although we're firm and believe that bitcoin will be back on the price of $60k soon but when a newbie believes on this without thinking of the risk that it takes and he doesn't have the patience, it's better for them to take time before buying it.

Learn more about how and what crypto is currently the best to trade with. I may give you a lot of suggestions on what you should trade but I think it would be better if you'll discover it yourself. Explore the platform, the forum and gather around news with regards to the crypto you are percieving to be good to trade with. As you learn more or become knowledgeable, you might find yourself earning a lot from your trading as you followed the steps properly.

$ 1000 for me is a lot of capital to trade or invest in cryptocurrencies, if you are a beginner,
you better buy cheap altcoins like XLM, XEM or Bittorent, yes these three coins are very cheap because the price is not up to $ 10,
You can get a lot of coins if you buy it with a capital of $ 1000, try going to Binance and you will find out.

There are a lot of source for to read to learn how trading work, just googling it and you will find a lot of article about it. But yeah, I'll be more suggesting you to buy some trading books because its more specific and you will learn sequentially from the most basic things first.

After that, you have to find a trading platform and there are some trading platform that has a good reputation you can googling it as well. Don't buy directly with your money, there is trading platform which provide demo trading at least you can learn some features in the trading platform so as when you use real money you will know what will you do.

If you want to invest in the crypto world then you must first learn how to trade well, because if you have a capital of $ 1000 it is quite large in getting profit, but if the way you invest can not be optimal then the losses that you will get, then in this case we must be careful in choosing coins so as not to regret later, coins that are suitable for investment that is a coin that already has potential not in the crypto world.
This is common sense and yet this is incredibly rare, we see all kind of people trying to learn how to trade while doing it and while they could learn some aspects of trading during that time they are basically paying with money whatever knowledge they get out of it when it would have been a lot faster to read a few books, accumulate more capital in the process and then once you are ready then you could begin trading with more knowledge than the majority of newbies are going to ever hold giving you a huge edge over them.
