Title: What's your bet? how many years could bitcoin go to its highest?
Post by: Jaycee99 on April 24, 2021, 02:26:49 AM
Now I made very little researcher because the value for bitcoin went down.

Some said that the value of bitcoin will skyrocket in about 3-4 years. (I am sorry if I can't give you the source I forgot where I read that, but it is possible if you might find it is in one of the forums here. I just remember a topic that I think talks about "bitcoin go bullish" but mine is kinda different)

Now I am curious base on this chart what can you say? what is your bet? on how many years will bitcoin go bullish again. If bitcoin all sudden went down on the value of 3k? give me only one number of the year "don't go an a possibly 5-8 years"

For me, my answer and bet for this, from 2019 3k value to 2022. From 2019 it took 4 years it can go reach more than the value of 60k base on this chart from my point of view, How about you what is your answer? and why?

Give me one answer don't just tell me that "we cannot specifically tell that year that anything is possible"(As I do always say ;D but here I want your answer specifically, please )

As long as you are measuring bitcoin price in fiat terms the answer is always or basically as long as fiat exists and it is inflationary because as they keep printing more fiat and dump its value, bitcoin price against it will continue to rise. Since I don't see fiat going anywhere or governments changing their crazy money printing policy, bitcoin will always keep going up.

But if we measure "value" of bitcoin instead of just its price against fiat, then it is a matter of mass adoption. And I believe that mass adoption needs at least another decade to be fully reached and until then we will have a bullish bitcoin.
In short term it will of course have big rise and falls like we have been seeing in the past 12 years.

For some countries, it is not that easy to just print money like how US does it, I think in my country, there are a special permit or some sort of a go signal before they can do so and a lot of study is done before doing so.

Another decade is too short for me because that means that the adoption needs to grow exponentially because the world is a big one and we have a lot of countries to convince that they have to adopt bitcoin.

MercadoLibre Argentina is beginning to accept bitcoin for the purchase and sale of real estate, also in Healthy Fast-Food Chain Muscle Maker Grill Starts Accepting Bitcoin, this totally helps the adoption of bitcoin, if this continues, it will not be so many years for that Bitcoin can reach its highest point.

At the moment the prediction in the S2F model is still valid, under which it is expected to reach $ 288k, many believe that for the month of May Bitcoin will have a price of $ 100k, but when it arrives it would cause a large amount sales, it is likely that now there can be a rapid recovery as it is doing, some believe that the season of altcoins will take place, but Bitcoin for me its dominance is total, the adoption is accelerating more and more.

Quote
Millennials are in search of healthy food, giving them the ability to pay with a cryptocurrency makes it even easier to eat healthy. Our strategy is to get healthy food to consumers through non-traditional locations and methods, accepting bitcoin will allow Muscle Maker to continue to provide innovative ways of delivering on this strategy.

Literally, it can increase forever for multiple reasons.

First, lets take people adopted bitcoin and it is an accepted payment mode in this world so there is no reason for the demand to decrease in long term because every year the number of birth will be higher than number of deaths.

Next the fiat terms, fiat is highly inflated and its going to inflate forever so even if there is no increase in the demand for bitcoin the value of bitcoin still going to rise every year due to the inflation rate according to your country.

My basis for this is the Bitcoin block halving (https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/).
Every after block halving is expected to make a huge run upside for Bitcoin, it is already proven since the first bitcoin block halving.

The expected next Bitcoin block halving is around May of the year 2024. We still have more than 3 years, the previous block halving was the last year 2020 of May.
So for me, I am still expecting a maximum of 24 months (2 years), a minimum of 8-12 months that is able to Bitcoin to test its highest.

This is just my hunch but if we have a continuous support of money from institutional investors then we could probably reach it by the end of the year or in one year or probably another halving will cause the prices to increase again.

Hard to say, but I'm betting that in the year 2032, when almost all bitcoin is mine, the price could really surge and we might be talking about $1 million a pop for all we know.

As the supply gets smaller and smaller, the price will obviously skyrocketed as it is going to be very difficult to acquire bitcoin by that time because we have been mining at least 20 million already. And the rest? it will take years and years to mine them. so 3 halving from now, we will get a clearer picture.

The question is, how high bitcoin price will be? $100k, $1,000k, or any highest price above on that number?
We already reach $64k as the highest price and it reaches this year. Although the price now is down to $54k, it will increase more than the price.
But to know when the next highest price will reach, we do not know when it will happen, and that still a mystery.
Maybe that will happen in 2030-2040 or so, and the next question is, do we still alive until that time comes?

Bitcoin will be fully mined approximately in the year 2140. That is more than a hundred years from 2032. From that year, there is still a very long way to go before we could consider Bitcoin to be almost fully mined.

The question is very hard to answer. That chart in the OP cannot give us even a little clue as to what specific year will Bitcoin reach its highest. Nobody can make a brilliant prediction based on analysis. It will all be simple guesses. For me, probably in the year later than 2100. That's some time in the far away future when all of us are already long gone.

Bitcoin, IMO, will never reach a max ceiling price for as long as it is valued and measured in fiat. It will just go up and up, bettering its previous ATH record as long as people are into it and are buying bitcoins as an investment. There would be no end to the price action as long as people are interested, so I don't think it is sensible to ask for bitcoin's highest price in X amount of time. A better question would be: how long before people lose interest and move on to the next investment fad? That'll keep all the valuation questions at bay IMO.

I understand that you want a straight out answer but this is very difficult to do as bitcoin is not isolated from the markets in general and instead is part of it, a great deal of the growth that we saw during this bull run can be attributed to how much money was printed during the previous year, if we see governments doing the same thing during this year then it can be argued that bitcoin will not suffer a crash as more and more people will invest in bitcoin in order to protect themselves from the inflation that is coming and they get worried of a hyperinflation scenario.

2024 maybe because of bitcoin halving but not usually at that exact time when bitcoin halving. Usually have a delay like 1-6 months before bitcoin bullish. Only need a trigger like good news or maybe influence from someone who famous like when happen this time. Every bitcoin get halving, news that bitcoin circulation is cut by half will spread and people will think less supply means high price, start to buy it and make it pumped.

Well said and its much better on not to stress out yourself on finding the possible peak price because as said on where its value its been measured on fiat and this market is volatile basing up on that common factor which is
demand and acceptance which means price cant really be determined to be fix and it would neither be staying or moving that actively on breaking new ATH's.So there would be no definite answer into this question.
Highest number would be always varying on the demand and if that thing lessens then do expect that numbers would go low.So its better that not to mind off on how far it would go.
We do need global acceptance and adoption if we do really like to see on how far it did progress over the years.

$20k could might be the $3k of the next bearish season. That's just another speculation just like what others are saying which I've also read somewhere in the forum.

If we're going to follow bitcoin's cycle, then that could be the next 2-4 years before we see the next high. But just like anyone, we're all hoping and speculating that $100k will be the highest on this cycle we current run.

I agree with you, the 4 year cycle always has an impact on the increase in the price of bitcoin.

If the halving is the basis for calculating how long this high price will last then I will just wait for how bitcoin is tested in early 2022. Many opinion about price peaks will occur in late 2021 and early 2022, and one of them may be true. But we know that none who can say for sure because it all depend on the interest and belief of trader and investor. If during that time there is a large increase in demand, the price will increase.

Title: Re: What's your bet? how many years could bitcoin go to its highest?

I think it will take maybe another four years, if Bitcoin falls now to very low levels then I think we can see a strong bullish trend after another four years, we have seen a strong uptrend after the halving that happened in 2020 so I expect the same scenario to repeat after the next halving. In 2024, always after each halving we see spectacular highs and new historical peaks, so in my opinion if the downturn occurs now (I don't expect it to happen) we will have to wait another four years.

That's how volatile it is, we don't know if we have to wait for the next halving for the next ATH or the next months to come, that is why it is a good practice to accumulate bitcoin as early as possible because you never know when will the next big pump in the prices is going to happen.

Well, my guess would be 4 years later? Though I'd also reckon that maybe in less than half a year we'd experience a bit more of the bullish season before the ups and downs steady movement that Bitcoin has always done in the past few years. As for the peak though, that's honestly really hard to say. It's still a matter of time before we even experience mass adoption, and who knows what would happen by then? I'd reckon that the supply of Bitcoin would've almost been mined by then (around half a decade maybe?) before we even experience mass adoptions, and would then experience another bullish season due to demand for it.

1- Bitcoin will reach 3000$ again   :   NEVER
2- Bitcoin will reach 100,000$        :   27 September , 2021
3- Bitcoin will reach 1M Dollars     :   30 June, 2025

Predicting prices and years sort of lost its lustre for me even if I do engage in self fantasy every now and then.

For me, it's quite simple. I either hit a price target or a time target, and neither are near me at all.

But for the sake of entering my prediction, top is 200,000 at 2025. Very simple 6 months after next halving. The effect every halving is hard to ignore.

What I am more concern is How long until Bitcoin will be accepted by the whole world as currency and not just a Scheme or something in similar.

Not until the Last drop of Bitcoin being mined? there is no chance that highest will be reached.
We have watched 11 years in the making to reach a 63,000$ and still counting

So maybe until more than 50 years? bitcoin will grow.

$3000 is already way far. I don't think we will go back there.

2022 - 70k. Yes, I think bitcoin will slow down after so much pump with rich investors and their hype. A correction will happen over and over.
2023 - Could still be a stagnant year and may just play with $80k with new investors buying in. It may stay that way until 2024.
2024 - 2025 The crucial year. The halving. Preparations for purchasing Bitcoin before the halving. It always ends up to be a dump. Could play with $70k - $100k if a good event adds up.

All of this could come true if we can get out of this pandemic. But if only the rich will have the purchasing power, trust from small investors could fade looking for a sell point.

I would say it would depend on how it would go after hitting that low again?
We couldn't tell for sure because many things would affect the growth of crypto.
But for it's current price to drop down as low as $3K I would say it would really take too much time to recover and maybe I would also lose hope since the whales and big companies had exit or left for the price to hit that low again.
I would lose hope for it to reach that high again but I would continue to use and support it as long as it is fighting and surviving.
We couldn't tell if there would be another set of big players who would enter when it gets that low and know that it has been dump to that price.

The current market trend is very strong and we witnessed that multiple times when Bitcoin dip below 50,000$. Bitcoin target price this year was over 100K considering the previous price growth and looking at the daily chart assuming that it will follow the uptrend channel on daily time frame.

IMHO, Bitcoin will still grow until most the people holds it already and reach the stagnant level where no one is selling and buying.

Honestly we don't know what will happen in the future. As we already know that bitcoin price movement is really depend on the economic and the situation of the country is this world. Especially, when the corovirus came that has pointed out that bitcoin is being choosen by most people as a store of value and we can see its price now, since the coronavirus cams bitcoin has been increasing for almost $60.000 and it has been one year.

So, we can predict as long as this situation I mean the corona virus or another plague still come and disturb the economic all country then we can measure that bitcoin will always be choosen by most people as their investment place and this thing will make bitcoin always increase. Otherwise, when there is no plague or something bad that can disturb the country economic then we measure that sooner or later its price will slowly down.

The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed triggered the price of Bitcoin to rise very drastically, as you said everyone was panicking and looking for
a safe place to save his wealth. Because people who save their wealth in the form of fiat are very panicked knowing that the government is
providing a stimulus by printing money, this is what will cause inflation. That's why only Bitcoin is the best as a store of value, and some
big companies are aware of it. Therefore, more and more large companies are now investing in Bitcoin, eventually allowing Bitcoin to reach
prices above $ 60k. I even believe the Bitcoin price this year will hit a high of $ 100k.

Given that Bitcoin's and the crypto market's last bear market lasted for 18 months I would say that we can go twice that number depending on how sharp we will fall from out ATH a massive correction from this kind of amount won't be recovering fast as compared to the $19,000 drop we have last December 2017. We don't know how much time it will make for a reversal but I know it will take longer than last time. But market cycles really don't have that set period where you are sure that it will do a reversal it also depends on other factors that can make the recovery earlier or even longer.

Sorry but I'm confused about the topic , "How long or Years Bitcoin will reach the highest?
Same here. I tried reading thrice still I could not figure out what OP is seeking.

Still based on my observations here are few things about bitcoin's bullish and bearish trends:
1. Due to halving happens for every 4 years, bitcoin market is also following cycle of 4 years.
2. After halving, bitcoin slowly enters into stronger bull run which may last 12 to 16 months.
3. After a new ATH (usually in December like 2013 and 2017), next 12 months will be bearish trend.
4. After ~70% of fall down, market will enter to sideways which may last for another 12 months.
5. In the times of sideways, another halving will happen and 2nd point will come to effect again.

1st halving was on 2012 and bitcoin got ATH in 2013 December which was $1200.
In 2015 January, it recorded low around $180.

2nd halving was on 2016, bitcoin peaked to $19300 in 2017 (which was 100x from low of previous cycle).

In 2018 December, bitcoin touched low around $3500 hence we may see another 100x growth from that low in 2021 which might be around $350k in 2021 December.

This is my bet. Let's watch.

The logic behind the all time high every 3 to 4 years is based on the amount of coins reduced by halving which is meant to reduce the number of coins in circulation. If there is demand then the price will naturally rally and that is the logic behind these speculation.

One might expect more this time because of the support from the sizable institutional investor. How long it will last maybe we will see how institutional investor use their bitcoin. If they were only aiming for profit, it was still possible to see thing change at lightning speed. The trend will change after they come and go, but will probably remain the same if they don't want to linger on their investment. However, I still believe that the 4 year period (halving) will still have an impact on bitcoin price despite the support from institutional investor.

If you notice, there were different reasons which contributed for the bull run of bitcoins but most of them right now not having any significant importance still we are having bitcoin 100x or 200x higher than what what we had in some 4 to 6 years back. I mean bitcoin itself got those potentials (limited supply and real world applications). Hence regardless of those institutions and their levels of holding, bitcoin will still sustain and continue its rally.

I agree institutional investors have driven bitcoin markets up to current levels but they are NOT alone. We read changes in bitcoin miners' rewards holding habits, Paypal/visa/mastercard showed interest/adopted cryptos for some reasons, some governments delayed regulation on cryptos etc.

I mean even many of institutional investors will leave off to book profits, bitcoin will continue as usual.

I want to be optimistic when it comes to a highest bitcoin exchange rate that it could attain but for now I couldn't help myself but to look for what might be the possibility for now like a bitcoin having an exchange rate of $70k -$100k at the end of the year. I guess the lowest value of bitcoin that was been recorded during the bearish market wayback 2 years ago was possible but impossible at the same time. The market of bitcoin has a strong resistance today than before that would justify our predictions.

I'm sorry but I'm not getting this. Do you literally mean that the halving causes some Bitcoin reduction in circulation or reduce in number of Bitcoin in circulation?
Bitcoin halving may not have a huge impact on Bitcoin's price, but as the trend goes on. People would be rushing to accumulate months prior to Bitcoin halving date, thus causing Btc to pump on the latter.

Now I am curious base on this chart what can you say? what is your bet? on how many years will bitcoin go bullish again. If bitcoin all sudden went down on the value of 3k? give me only one number of the year "don't go an a possibly 5-8 years"

Ok i will give you precise prediction but then again no one knows the future.

1- Bitcoin will reach 3000$ again   :   NEVER
2- Bitcoin will reach 100,000$        :   27 September , 2021
3- Bitcoin will reach 1M Dollars     :   30 June, 2025
The prediction makes sense, it is going to be incredibly difficult to reach one million dollars in this cycle however breaking 6 figures for the first time is completely possible but it is going to take the institutional investors to completely take over this market as we are still far away from that goal, however I think that is precisely what they are doing right now as they are slowly weakening the bears and once they feel they have done a good enough job we are going to see an explosive growth.

The halving day is the wait of many people because from some existing experiences, the price of bitcoin usually increases after the halving day, but now it seems that bitcoin has gained a lot of trust from people so that with this trust it makes the demand for bitcoin even higher and the proof is that now bitcoin continues set a record for the highest price increase, so not only institutional investors are influencing the increase in bitcoin but everyone is now competing to invest their money in bitcoin and this demand occurs because people already understand about bitcoin fundamentals not only from the demand and supply side .

I agree that lots of people are these days aware of potential of bitcoin but they are hesitating about how much high bitcoin prices will be testing. I'm able to understand their concern because anyone will not be preferring to catch the top most price and when anyone will be investing they will also ensure continuation of bullish trend. So, if there will be any initiative on enlightening people about the maximum potential of bitcoin, that will definitely help new investors to get into bitcoins without hesitation.

I know it will be difficult to analyze about the maximum potential of bitcoin in terms of price levels. Still, something will be better than nothing even for this scenario. Some random speculation also will be helpful for people in some sense.

Of course that is true because bitcoin does not depend solely on institutional investor and we have a strong and growing community around the world today that is growing all the time.

but now it seems that bitcoin has gained a lot of trust from people~
I would say this is the essence of what we expect. Bitcoin continues to get attention from all over the world and over the years this community has formed a strong foundation for bitcoin and has helped them find out about its existence. Trust is one of the factors why this bitcoin is valuable over time. On top of that, bitcoin innovation is far superior to what you can get from fiat. Limited supply has pushed price higher and this has been supported by the large adoption and investment of institution.

The only problem that I see with that is that those people are coming to this market in order to only earn money and that is problem, trying to earn money is not bad as a great deal of people want to do that but when that is the only goal that you have then this is going to be problematic, right now the price of bitcoin is not moving much and instead the market of altcoins is going up, this is making even more people hesitant and they prefer to invest in those coins not understanding the huge risk they are taking.

When all traders are working for their benefits, how we can expect people not to look for profits but continue holding? I mean different people are having different goals. We cannot expect everyone to be the long term holders of bitcoin markets.

Moreover, we need all type of people to move bitcoin market to new stage. A trader buy for short term target but we need to see them like they are contributing to bitcoin market in some way in building bigger prices. Even they book profits after some time, we can expect similar people to join and to move bitcoin markets continuously. So, every type of investors are fine and needed for better bitcoin markets.

I believe it will always make a ATH as long as ppl always going crazy to make profits when the price is very low.. Yes because thats what the time big investors entering the market, so no one will reject bitcoin even at the very low price in my opinion , wherein indeed ppl will take advantage the situation to obtain massive profits afterwards like what always happen.. So its impossible as its very promising as well than other crypto currency in the market.

I bet that this year bitcoin will continue to show it's highest potential especially soaring going to the moon of the market exchange rate.
It is actually hard to predict of how long does it would take that bitcoin could maintain attaining its highest potential since we all know that bitcoin was very volatile and unpredictable.
But I do hope that this good market of bitcoin will last because new investors are coming and many opportunities had open for the adoption of bitcoin in real business.

Yeah, it is hard to predict exactly but at the same time we can speculate about what is continuously going to happen for bitcoin prices in all coming future; it will be like bitcoin price will keep rising up continuously regardless of whatever high value it will be attaining; it means there could not be any limit for the highest value for bitcoin to attain.

I believe it will always make a ATH as long as ppl always going crazy to make profits when the price is very low..
Yes, there are lots of different category of such people will be always existing to keep buying bitcoins for their own reasons. Some people will buy for payment solutions and some other people will invest as dollar weakens and some people will invest due to deflationary characteristics of bitcoin etc. So, there are multiple reasons are possible for making people to keep buying bitcoins forever.

When it comes to highest price then this would be unknown because we cant determine on how far we've go as long the demand is there then the possibilities that it can reach out peaks.

How many years would be not able to determine and as long recognition would still continue then we can expect for new numbers that we would able to see.

When it comes to potential then theres no doubt on that but always remember about risk management if you do deal with investment.

Can anyone know what’s the highest price of Bitcoin? Maybe its true that sky is the only limit and I see Bitcoin to keep pushing its price in the next 5 years but of course, expect a more volatile and corrections while aiming for the top price. Anyway, don’t focus too much on Bitcoin because there’s also a lot of good altcoins that you can invest with, better to diversify now.

Yes, there is a lot of potential altcoins that has highest ROI. The only thing with altcoins is the trust factor, sometimes even the much expected one goes worth nothing and takes much longer time period for growth. With bitcoin it has secured its place as a trusted investment with which one can make profit. For now I believe the next halving will bring big change in the price of bitcoin.

the greater the confidence of investors and traders in bitcoin, of course, the more it will increase the price of bitcoin in the future, and of course the factor of bitcoin supply which continues to decrease from time to time which will also trigger the movement of bitcoin prices to become more expensive, I cannot say for sure the value of bitcoin in the future, but of course if we have a long life, of course we can see for ourselves how high the price of bitcoin will be and when that happened, I hope we all have at least 1 BTC as an inheritance that we can give to our children and grandchildren later.

This is a compelling argument, the current model in which governments can print as much money as they want, or least that is what they believe, basically makes that any valuable asset is always going up in price over the long term, however it may come up a point in time in which bitcoin reaches its maximum value, which is not the same as its price, and that day will only come when worldwide adoption becomes a reality, but it is difficult to know what that value will be.

That would be the final stage bitcoin going to attain after century of years time. Because, there are practical limitations for bitcoin prices to keep increasing; after certain levels we cannot expect bitcoin remains to be into bullish mode all the time but it will help bitcoin to be stable after that. When it is trading stable, more people will be preferring it to adopt which might lead to mainstream adoption.

So, whatever the policies government are having against printing fiats that will definitely lead to making bitcoin into mainstream one day or other. Here the highest value of bitcoin still unpredictable like how gold is doing right now even after centuries of time.

Can anyone know what’s the highest price of Bitcoin?
No one knows the possible highest price of a crypto coin, including Bitcoin. It is determined by the demand and supply in the market. Also, it can be influenced by some factors such as issues, trends, and events like halvings. I think we don't need to know the exact number of the possible highest price of Bitcoin. As long as it is growing, then it is no problem to have it.

don’t focus too much on Bitcoin because there’s also a lot of good altcoins
Indeed. There are many good altcoins. I am sure an experienced investor or trader won't focus on Bitcoin only. He/she must be aware of other potential profits got from altcoins. Remember that Bitcoin isn't always increasing its price and brings profits, sometimes it drops and we need alternative coins to earn money.

I would bet ten years until bitcoin come to a point it gets to maturity of highest value. Nowadays, this is just the asset that will be considered stable despite of market volatility. Unlike the uprising projects which is the altcoins, bitcoin remarkably performed amazingly for the past years.
That's why I am thinking more productive years which eventually going to happen starting this year and so on. I couldn't say an specific price, because it remains unknown and still a big riddle to be revealed in the future.

It's because bitcoin is the first and what we call prime movers, so they are doing remarkably well in the first 10 years and chances are in the next 10, we might see a massive increase in the price.

That's why I am thinking more productive years which eventually going to happen starting this year and so on. I couldn't say an specific price, because it remains unknown and still a big riddle to be revealed in the future.

Bitcoin has this 'halving', this alone will push the price higher, and probably we just see the tip of the price as it can go to x10 ++ in the next coming halvings. I don't think it is a riddle, it's more of question what price will it achieved down the line.

I am of the opinion that the current bull run will last all through this year and probably the first quarter of next year. This is due to the fact that alt season is just warming up and have not really started, so we still have months to go. This year night be all green, before we are going to experience any major corrections that can be up to 30%

We do not know the right answer and all of that will be speculations from us because we have our own hope to see bitcoin will reach the highest in a short time.
It could be 5 years, 10 years or even 15 years later bitcoin will reach the highest price, but we should know that we must prepare for that by trying to make more and more bitcoin from now on.
This year is a good time for bitcoin because we see the price now can increase more than $50k and who knows, in the next months, the price can jump to $100k.
But still, that is a mystery and we can only wait for that by trying to have many bitcoins.

Not really that interested much when it comes to future talks in regards with the price because nothing is assured because anything could happen on least expected.

Thing here is that we do hope for more adoption and recognition because this is where the value would really be depending on.Doesnt need to make bets nor

in a hurry because everything would come in line and we do just need to wait for it to happen.

Indeed. We do not know what will happen in the future, and even if we speculate what can happen, we still do not know for sure.
The adoption will continue and grow as we see now that the crypto has become more popular than in a few years ago, so we can expect it to grow and reach more people from this year and the next years.
If we only think about the future but do not do something, we will be too late to act and we will not have a chance to join with that.
When the adoption can grow, it will impact the value and people will see the new way to have something better for their finances.

I am aware that day is very far away but even if we think we are not going to see it during our lifetimes at the same time we need to understand that if things keep going in this direction then an economic crisis is inevitable, one that will be way bigger than anything we have seen before and when that happens people are going to try to find a way to protect themselves and bitcoin could be a very good alternative under those circumstances.

mainstream adoption

How do you define mainstream/worldwide adoption? Has this not already happened?
