Title: Is Elon Musk manipulating the market?
Post by: Abiky on May 21, 2021, 06:33:21 PM
Every time Elon Musk talks positively about Dogecoin on Twitter, price per coin goes all the way to the moon. The contrary happens if he talks negatively about it. Most recently, Elon Musk criticized Bitcoin's high energy consumption stating that it's harmful to the environment. This caused Bitcoin's price to plunge all the way to $42k in an instant. It's up to this point, where Bitcoin hasn't recovered back to the $57k - $58k range.

It looks like people make decisions based on someone else's opinion instead of doing their own research about it. Most people follow Elon Musk closely, so anything he says (good or bad) can directly affect the whole crypto market in general. I believe Elon Musk's true intentions is to manipulate the market for his own financial benefit. Who knows if he bought more Bitcoin after prices went down because of his tweet?

What are your thoughts? Do you think Elon Musk is manipulating the crypto market? If not, why? Will crypto carry on as usual without Mr. Musk in play? Or is it too late? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

If asset dump 50% because of tweet that does not change its fundamentials (every investor knew about energy consumtion or china mining farms)... it means that it was not ment to be where it was. BTC was not ready for 60k$, had no strong support that could hold price at 50k, 40k$. Most people that bought BTC last 6 months did not know how 30% correction looks like. We were doomed to see ~40k zone even without Musk tweets. He just made this retest cheaper for market manipulators (AKA market operators).

Now China FUD and another 15% dump... Its too easy to push btc price down. Too easy to not use it for whales.

Do you think Elon Musk is manipulating the crypto market?
I think he literally is. He's playing dumb yet with all of those tweets related to cryptocurrency, it's really making the market move as much as it can.
As long as he will keep himself attached to the crypto market, there will always be the believers of his and those whales that will also take advantage of what he does.

Without such a rich personality, Elon Musk could not play that much with the market price. But with the power of his money and the power that comes from this money, he can manipulate it in every way with the name he makes. Most important of all, it can direct any crypto money it wants with the money in its safe without tweeting. But he both invests in crypto money and tweeting, which increases his power at least 5 times. In short, what I want to tell you is that he can manipulate as he wishes when we consider his money as well as his statements and tweets.

I do not believe in sincerity about energy. As a result, whether Spacex accepts payment with bitcoin or not, bitcoin production will continue and energy consumption will continue. I think he totally retaliates against the vitalik side in this regard.

We could say both...
He is manipulating by doing a tweet and i have no doubt it will impact to market because he is well known by people around the world.
But for yesterday crash, it is not made by him. People just seeking the reason why the market crash and then pointing it to elon.

The fact about yesterday crash is " we are already up too high and must be going down to seek strong support "

About energy consumption ? I doubt elon does not know about it begore he decide to invest in to something.

If not then why is he doing this? I’m sure he’s manipulating the market and there’s no billionaire that would waste his time tweeting about cryptocurrency without a valid reason, he’s making a lot of money on his every tweet. I wonder what would be the next tweet of Elon, it could be “DOGE is useless”, watch out closely.

I don't welcome Elon Musk in this crypto space, meaning that I won't follow any highly influential personal to invest in any crypto, this is an act of been blinded and controlled, after watching McAfee for years? Nah! I have no problem choosing projects myself and I have already achieved my dream in this bull market, I got in when market was down and got out when BTC was struggling at 57k

the influence of protagonists of this caliber is a weak point for the decentralized vision and the nature of bitcoin, unfortunately, however, people who arrive in bull markets are disappointed and tend to sell fear.
Elon Musk started a super bullish market and then tried to contain and scale it with news about tesla and high energy consumption, hence China took the opportunity to launch the attack on BTC.

Do you read anything other than Elon Musk's twitter? Probably news about a new wave of cryptocurrency bans in China.

When you start thinking, now is the bear market. Market makers want the hamsters to sell their bitcoins, which they bought for $ 60,000, to bring the bull market back into existence. This may take several months.

Yes he is and he knows it. But has he really said anything negative about Doge? He has said that his tweets are a joke, probably because his lawyers have adviced him to add some kind of disclaimer, probably because he has been buying doge. Markets react to anything he says, even when he talks about something else:

This guy is trying to manipulate the market. Just take a look at his tweet related to the doge coin and you will be seeing that happens dude. It's not only that coz no one knows whether if he already bought the dip or not.
He will always reveal it at the end of story. This guy is the worst thing in the crypto.

Even when people calling his tweet as jokes but his tweet gave big impact to the crypto.

Yes i think that Elon Musk had a plan before he made his first tweet about dogecoin, he knew that it will have a big impact if he as one of the richest (or maybe the richest of them all) persons in the world talks positively about crypto for the first time. Then he let Tesla accept bitcoin as payment which increased the positive momentum of the crypto market even more. Than out of sudden he said that dogecoin is only a hustle and Tesla announced that they would not accept bitcoin anymore as payment.
In the end i think Elon musk did damage the whole crypto scene a little but i also think if he continues to tweet about cryptos his tweets will have less and less impact the more he does it because people are alrady used to it.

He really is, we are good to go if he is not very active in tweeting Dogecoin a meme coin and a supporting coin for Bitcoin he is intentionally trying to make Dogecoin reach the top in the market and trying to bring down Bitcoin, he has become a big market manipulator and it just shows that investors are not yet mature and they are easily swayed by the likes of Elon Musk, we will all go down if we have two Elon Musk harming the community.

Some of it yes but not totally. I mean, he has huge btc because of tesla so he is considered as one of the btc whales and as we all know most of the coins in the market are interrelated with btc so if telsa will sell atleast half of their btc asset, I think it will have an effect to the market generally.

Now many blame Elon Musk maybe thinking he is behind all the current market manipulation that wants to bring down bitcoin, but the fact is that it makes sense if that is the case because the meme coins he dreams of going to the moon are even written in his tweets.
Maybe it could be that he was preparing himself when the price was low he would buy it up? will this happen? So he continued to manipulate the market with much influence on almost all investors.

Elon is just a big whale who uses his influence in favor to him, and we can called it manipulation. Though he cannot literally move the market but since he's very influential, every tweet he had people interpret it, I slowly believe that Elon is not a good thing here in the market. He can just invest his money without tweeting and hyping any project, that could be the safest way for us to remain on a bull trend this year, but now people knows who's Elon Musk and his motive.

Title: Re: Is Elon Musk manipulating the market?

I think that Elonmusk has only a slight effect on the price of bitcoin, due to other factors that make BTC go down such as it may need correction after the full rise from last December, some say it will go down to Q3 so you have to be strong to hold back when the market is bear, and it will come back rose at the end of the year.

Well Elon Musk is trying to manipulate the market and its all because of his own greed, to make most of his financial benefits. But you're right, Elon does not control the market fully because the recent dip is not just because of the whales but its mainly of the market's due correction so there will be balance in the market's activity. We have experienced the latest bull run and people have made profits already and this time, a healthy correction is currently happening that will open doors for new investors.

I believe so, if he says negative about Bitcoin and the prices dumps I’m pretty sure that he’s loading up. Now that he knew how influential he is even in crypto ecosystem, he might repeat his steps to take advantage of the situation. There will be time that he will become irrelevant in crypto space if he keeps trolling around.

Whats is the point of dumping coins bought at 30k crashing market "if he wishes". Yes he can do that ... but what for? Speculating on the market is not easy. No matter if you have 100$ or $100B. If he will crash market by dumping his coins ... he will do that at average price of 20-25k ... he bought at 30k. Will he be able to buyback? Hard to say. At the end of the day he will say as high as market will want to buy ... not as cheap as it is possible to "crash the market". He will sell and than start to FUD not FUD about energy, FUD abount miners still hodling $1B worth bitcoin.

I think Elon Musk did it. He and his company told to the public if Tesla will accept Bitcoin payment, but after that they cancel it only for reason Bitcoin mining is not green and not friendly for the world. This reason not make sense because Bitcoin mining already existed for years, and they should be told us about it before accept Bitcoin payment. But in other side, Elon Musk already help crypto market growing. For now as investor and trader, we keep learn about trading management much better and avoid too greedy.

At some point, considering his influence and the money he has Elon Musk has control at manipulating the market. Nevertheless, we cannot blame to him all the things that are happening in the market right now, let us not disregard the fact that China is currently planning to ban bitcoin at the moment and it impacted a lot on bitcoin's price. The dip or the correction we are currently experiencing is just normal but let us notice the pattern and the reason of all the fuss that is going so that we can have the idea of what's best to do.

i guess musk leave btc for a while and foccus on manipulating doge  .

Since Elon Musk became the world richest man and put his interest in crypto! Many people are now following his tweets without even making their own researches, many people believes in him that's why anytime he makes a tweet, the market moves in his favour, but I think with time people will no longer regard his tweets anymore, he uses his influence to manipulate the market since he knows his followers will always do what he says, without his followers he can't manipulate the market anymore, if people ignores he's tweets the market will not move in his favor. Just so bad that the masses are just following a man's decision.

I also think that Elon Musk is manipulating the market. I understood it better when he decided to stop accepting Bitcoin on Tesla sales and gave a hilarious reason for it. But I don't understand why he is doing this. What is his profit in this? Tesla are in a huge loss also as they made a huge investment into Bitcoin in the end.

He's trying to. I'm sad that it works. It's like a domino effect whenever he puts little words in Twitter. His followers starts to do what he input there and the market reacts. For me, it looks like a cult already. Sorry for the bad comparison for the Musk's supporters here but that's how it just looks for me.

I don't like the idea of someone giving orders and others keeps on following it. With Bitcoin no one was like that. It had even been bashed by FUD's and bad images in news and social media but it still stands. It's an individual view though.

I do not think that Elon Musk manipulates the cryptocurrency market, but since there are so many big players watching all the actions of Elon Musk and Elon Musk constantly writes some messages about cryptocurrencies and when big players see various messages about cryptocurrencies on Elon`s Musk Twitter profile, then immediately this cryptocurrency about which Elon Musk wrote begins to grow in price and therefore, to some extent, Elon Musk is a manipulator, but he by himself does not participate in this.

He tried every way to manipulate and managed to convince the mass to believe him. The majority began to believe that the doge is one of the strongest project on the market because of Musk. Those who want to invest now are looking for Musk assurance. lol

Most importantly he does everything consciously and still does not stop.

Most people will say yes to this. Because there are many actions of his which can be shown as a proof for it. I hope that he won't continue to manipulate the market forever. It hits the investors really hard.

it could be that new investors are starting to get dizzy on a path they can't figure out. everyone has different predictions about the coins they hold so it is best if you have faith in yourself to hold onto what you have. although Elon Mask makes things like that maybe the knowledge that you can get. You can just filter out what to do for complete disbelief because it drives people crazy. like a creator who can correctly predict what will happen in the next year.
this is only related to market manipulation which happened to happen because of Elon and China. Meanwhile, for the trust assets that we can choose, I don't think it will change for top market assets or assets that have become our favorites. It is only a matter of time until we as owners of small assets wait for them to pump.

Not only Elon but the whales who followed him.

Elon is very popular, of course, it's normal that people will follow his call or his favorite coin, which is DOGE.
Every time he talks, people follow, that's blindly investing and that's the reason why newbie investors lose money in a situation like this.

The only way to be able to manage the risk is to be smart, and it's not Elon's fault if people will follow as he also has his interest, for him this is just a game, and if we play his game, he will certainly be the winner.

Elon is indirectly taking advantage of his followers and use his tweets to manipulate and influence their decisions towards crypto,  he wants his followers to see dogecoin as 'the peoples coin' even if it means discredit btc in the process, he may not be directly manipulating the market but his tweets are causing damage.

When the Bitcoin price reaches $35k, there will be lots of whales buying at this level. The situation is almost the same as in 2018, but for investors who have a lot of capital, brands will buy and we will see the price increase slightly as the number of requests continues to increase. Currently, the seller doesn't seem to want to lose due to Elon Musk's tweet, but as we know, the price of Bitcoin always goes up during the Bitcoin Halving.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Elon Musk is manipulating the crypto market?
It is clear that elon musk is trying to manipulate the market through his Twitter, and there are a lot of people who believe in it.
If the market still has people investing on the advice of others, elon musk is still going on

I also think about you, the popularity that Elon has is enormous, he has influence and a large following who is always monitoring what he is doing, and he sees this opportunity to manipulate the crypto market, with the more people affected the greater the profit he will get.
He recently announced that he is in favor of crypto if there is a war between crypto and cash.
But this doesn't make the market as bullish as Elon Musk wrote on his Twitter, perhaps people have started to be wary of what he says.

Some of it yes but not totally. I mean, he has huge btc because of tesla so he is considered as one of the btc whales and as we all know most of the coins in the market are interrelated with btc so if telsa will sell atleast half of their btc asset, I think it will have an effect to the market generally.

I have this feeling now that we are at the mercy of Elon Musk, he has a huge supply of Bitcoin and he can crash the market if he wishes, we are not in a good position right now, a man shilling a meme coin and FUDDING the mother of all coins this is the reason why Bitcoin and the market is going down, we are following a wrong guy, who is doing harm to the community.
Actually I am already thinking this for a long time. Time will come that a certain person (it doesn't need to be Elon Musk but on our current scenario, he is) will have a controll of the huge part of the market and will totally dictate what market status will gonna happen. If that will happen, the market we know will not gonna be the same anymore that is why I am always not in favor of capitalism.

Yes I agree with you. Most people take decisions without making their own research
Elon musk is influential and has high power on the crypto market any decision he makes either positive or negative will have an effect to the market.
And recently he has been manipulating the market and I think this is his own tricks to buy more coin. Once he manipulates a coin to drop the other investors will panic and sell off and that's the time he buys. The rich getting richer.

Your last question shouldn’t even be a question. How can you be asking whether the cryptocurrency community can carry on without Musk? It hasn’t been long that this guy joined the crypto community, so with or without Elon Musk, the community is definitely going to keep moving.

Yes, I do know that while he’s here as part of the community he can be doing things that can be influencing the market in one or the other, and that’s because he’s a celebrity and he has lots of followers which we all know very well that a lot of them are into cryptocurrency, and anything he says the news are going to spread it as well. But that doesn’t mean that if he leaves the market is going to fall, nah we will still be going strong.

We may have fallen into Elon Musk's own game, as he manipulates the market with his tweets. Each comment (either positive or negative) has a direct effect over crypto prices these days. DOGE went from being worth nothing to nearly $1 after Elon Musk's praise. Similarly, Bitcoin went down after Elon Musk criticized its high energy consumption. How long will this keep up, will depend on how far people are willing to believe Elon Musk's comments. The current dip in price is great to accumulate coins before the whole market goes back up again. Sooner or later, Bitcoin will go to $60k while ETH will hit $5k per coin. Dogecoin might go to $1 if Elon Musk continues to "shill" it across social media platforms.

What matters is that crypto stays as decentralized and censorship-resistant as possible. The market may be following a single man, but the core Blockchain technology is not. Regardless of the price, crypto works well as censorship-resistant money for the world. The main issue here is the centralization of the market. If decentralized exchanges were in the lead, this wouldn't be a problem. The market would carry on as usual regardless of what Elon Musk says about crypto. Let's see how long it'll take before Mr. Musk becomes bored of crypto in favor of the next big thing in the mainstream world. Just my thoughts ;D

Elon Musk has its own hidden motive and for sure, to make advantage of this market for his own benefit. And whales are also riding this market activity so that when people start to panic sell, they will buy those coins and hold them until their price d recovers. This is truly a market manipulation.

However, people start to see the true identity of Elon Musk and if he continue to make negative tweets for bitcoin, this market will be gradually affected. And i think people will never love that. So they start hating Elon Musk and unfollow him. This is jus the same with McAffe before. He will be ignored in the long run and he will make no impact on the market anymore. The crypto market will be back to normal again.

Let's say Elon is really manipulating the market, in which case we should be grateful to him.
After all, it was he who gave a few impulses for Bitcoin with his tweets, and he also provoked the fall.
Where is he wrong? If we believe in this, then he just canceled the conditions for bitcoin created by his own hands.

Elon Musk has already been manipulated several times, you must know it. His big investment was in the Dogecoin, I'm assuming as my research. I visited Dogecoin social sites, even devs were also surprised about the price of Dogecoin. Elon must think, he knows the future and he can handle it. Between 6 months, Elon musk lovers will start to hate. I like him for his spaceX, but in this case he doesn't deserve it because so many people will lose their money.

There is no debate about the manipulation power of Elon Musk as he is doing that for a while in multiple financial markets and what i did not understand till now is whether he is hedging money before making those public statements about the market and making a fortune behind the back or is he just having fun whenever he is free from thinking about developing something else ;D.

Main problem is that people reacts like have no brain and sell like crazy making stampedo. Not last time probably.
They were only following the hype. Their bran is always thinking about how to get instant profit from the market. that's why there are lots of people who keep watching the elon's tweet and they were still betting into the doge coin. Elon is actively tweeting about the doge coin development and this will always continue until people will be realized if their minds already manipulated.
This doge trend will be last long.

Therefore, indeed we need to learn many things related to the crypto world, so that we can really understand how to invest properly in
the crypto world. Because it is sad for many people to enter the crypto world because they hope to get instant profit. Yet if we study
the crypto world properly, it takes patience and a long process so that we can make a profit. And most importantly, we should never
invest because it is influenced by other people, we must try to analyze and do our own research to decide which coins we will buy and
when is the right time to enter the market. Therefore, we will not fall victim to Elon Musk if we do our own research and analysis.

It's all about making as much money as possible by manipulating the market with tweets that could bring a positive or negative environment in the crypto/Blockchain space. Elon Musk knows that most people don't do their own research when it comes to crypto/Blockchain tech. They're only in it to make a quick buck, instead of believing in its core technology to change our world for the better. By manipulating people through social media posts, Mr. Musk can control the market for his own financial benefit. I bet he made a lot of money with the DOGE pump, and the recent Bitcoin dump. The rest of the investors might have lost big time because of the wild fluctuations in crypto prices. If this keeps up, only rich people will dominate crypto market leaving the average investor or trader in the dust. I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case in the long term, or else, crypto will be doomed. Just my thoughts ;D

Actually it is not a serious problem, because those who sell when market conditions are bad will always regret it when market conditions have improved, so there is no need to think about it because it is their right.
in my opinion it is only done by people who are new to or joining cryptocurrency so that when prices are down they look panic and take the decision to sell their assets to avoid greater losses, but if they have been in cryptocurrency for a long time, of course they have realize that the decline in prices is a common thing and they might hold it until the price or market gets better again, because indeed they have learned from years of experience in dealing with every condition that occurs in the crypto world.

Not being ready with the situation they'll choose to sell and lose portions of their investment fearing that they've might lose everything.

It isn't such personalities or businesses but those who keeps doing stuff that can be avoided if they only have the right knowledge and understanding.

He is manipulating the market, ever since he came here and tweet nonsense tweet there's a disruption of the market, the recent fall, is just one of the proof that is making a disruption, if he did not create a FUD against Bitcoin it could have been going into the $70 k level, the market is going the other way around by supporting mem coin instead of a coin with an established reputation and with many usage and good platform.
If he tweets nonsense, nobody would give interest in him but he does it well and that is why a lot of people got fooled. It is too late to see the truth behind those shilling and positive tweets and he uses his personality to acquire followers but unfortunately, these illusions had put to an end, and we started to hate him back.

Such greedy moves that Elon Musk does have a huge impact on the market but this is not enough to ruins it. He is just one of those manipulators who just come and lose, then to say goodbye.

There are advantages and disadvantages of the effects caused by Elon's current actions, where we can benefit from the growing doge, but on the other hand this can be fatal if we just follow what Elon did and it seems as if we are very dependent on him, so that Elon can easily manipulate the crypto market with its popularity, and you are also right about bitcoin, it doesn't need the popularity of an influencer to grow to dominate the crypto market today.

I think it is too late to change the market like it used to be, now people are too affected by the tweet made by Elon Musk, whatever he says always makes a big reaction in the market, if this continues it could be that the market can be completely manipulated by a few people, this is very bad for the growth of the crypto market.
I don't think it's that bad, besides, i think there are some big whales using Elon Musk's tweet to manipulate the crypto market, not Musk. This is what we called celebrity effect, but do not worry because of one day it will fail.  IMO, this round of Bull has three hypes: DEFI, NFT, Elon Musk.

Indeed, he uses to pump Bitcoin and Doge before people realize that Elon Musk is manipulating the market. It simply like we are having a good time first (benefiting from those tweets) before we got to know about his real intentions. This dirty tactic is so popular, rich people can easily do that as they have such capability, some were also taking advantage while someone had caught into the trap.

Does this manipulation had a chance to stop? No, as long as the market remains decentralize and everyone is welcome, we can certainly be experiencing this thing from time to time.

The market dumped up to 50 percent after he tweeted, yes he actually manipulating the crypto market which not supposed to be because crypto should be free all manipulation but people follow influencers that's why it affected too much. If elon stop tweeting then we may having a great time until today and our assets are gaining instead of losing due to market's dip.

I dont know the reason why Elon Musk had to tweet about crypto especially Dogecoin, what is the motivation and what is the goal that he want to achieve by tweeted. This is so confusing and the market is all red zone now. Really hope the dip will cease and go away.

He wants to shill his coin so he will make easy money, it's not hard to figure out, and actually he was successful in doing that because a DOGE from a shitty coin now becomes a valuable coin because it was hype, in fact, some even think that it will reach $1, so they are willing to hold.

Yes, there is really no need to worry about that because every bad intention will end badly, so keep thinking positively on every thing that has happened, let them bear the consequences themselves in the future.

The answer to this question is a simple yes, I think Elon is manipulating the market for his own financial gains, and the thing is that, there are alot of misery people in crypto today who don't even know what they are investing in cus they are too lazy to do any kind of research, rather all they care for is quick wealth, overnight riches and the only way they think they can achieve this is to allow the words or thought of the rich influence their own sentiment or thought.
But am not suprised cus ever since I started trading in the financial market, news and opinions from influencial people has always affected the market in both positive and negative ways, the only difference here is that Elon has seized this opportunity to enrich himself and he's friends more.

It all depends on what Elon is tweeting about on his social media. and what Elon looks like is not a consistent person and tends to want to flirt with his followers.
I am sure, at this point those who follow Elon already know how to respond wisely to Elon's tweets. because sometimes Elon does it just for his own sake or just for fun.

Thank you. :)

As far as I know, Elon Musk was one of the popular influencer in twitter, no doubt about that. If every time Elon talked about positively about dogecoin on twitter and the price of each Dogecoin goes all the way to the moon, why not He try to post it now about positive thing in Dogecoin. Do you think when Elon musk do this right now, the price of Dogecoin will increase in the market while bitcoin was in stage of dump level in terms of price value so far? But I agreed that Elon Musk is only manipulating the market nothing else.

Well, IMHO, the guy knows what will be the possible in and out on it and strongly believes that he can endure whatever what it takes on him whether the most negative outcome shall go for him. He got more experience than us in different industries and he's more than that.

I don't admire him but I'm just stating the fact that the guy has experience and putting him in that bad situation even if it's just his feeling, that's really hard to happen unless there's something personal which is like his worst nightmare.
And that he use such experience to take advantage of the young and innocent investors who are following him believing that Elon Musk can help them. But in the end, he put some trap. If his intention is acceptable, no way that the community will get angry and hating him. He put this situation worse and that he receives a bad reputation as well.

I know we don't like this to happen but if we just keep silent, this person will continue doing and I think he needs to stop.
Yeah, that's likely a trap.

If those people who follows him keep on relying on his words and blindingly investing with the shilling that he does, they really will be ending up broke if they keep on riding it.

The market has always been like this and they will really have to pay for the experience so that's it, charge to experience.

in my opinion, elon is a single investor, many speculate that elon is deliberately manipulating the market for personal gain, but there are also those who argue that elon is indeed interested in crypto, especially Dogecoin, but no one knows the truth, only elon himself knows, hopefully elon can bring positive things in the world of crypto

He already brought positive things to those who benefit, especially for DOGECOIN investors and the entire market as his tweets were very effective at the beginning, after he tweeted about Tesla suspending bitcoin, which started a huge sell-off and we are still affected until now with that bearish movement.

Its not a positive, i think its more toxic than positive, people didnt aware enough about what Elon suggest and turn them into a big bomb that can explode whenever Elon want to.
For example many people didnt know what Dogecoin is and decide to buy their first cryptocoin without enough information about it.

His tweets started the movement of weak hands in the market. Influenced by his tweets, short traders or newcomers sold their holdings. As a result, whales are the most profitable, and weak hands are out of the market. Following his tweets, short traders and new investors have already been deceived several times. I don't think anyone else will be affected by Elon Musk's trap now Because everyone understands his cunning.

If this is the case, crypto is not as decentralized as it claims it to be. The thing is moments of ups and downs are common to crypto pricing specially bitcoin. And because the use case as of now of bitcoin is store value and speculative. Unlike the other blockchain projects where tons of use cases are being introduced and make leverage at. So is Elon Musk has the influence? Nah it is more  likely on corrections and entering the bear market.

Yeah, when tesla made their announcement, bitcoin was around 42k or so and suddenly went to over 48k in a day I would give him credits for 42k to over 50k and that's it, anything over 50k was still the people who wanted to buy bitcoin and insanely hyped about it so they bought and increased the price. That's what I think he deserves to get recognition.

I however do not give him the blame during this fall neither, sure he had a big play on the initial drop, we weren't at 60k+ neither, we were a bit over 50k and dropped under 50k and that was probably what Elon started but that's about it, rest was other news and people who get panic and sold and also there were tone of liquidations that caused the huge drop as well so it wasn't just him.

Elon Musk and China Both of them are tried their best to manipulate the Bitcoin market, But they failed miserably,

Together they were announcing negative news about Bitcoin one after another in a row. But they were not able to bring the price of Bitcoin below $30K. At $30K zone Bitcoin has been stabilized very well and is preparing for the next bull run. Well, I wouldn't say Musk failed miserably. We don't know how much bitcoin he bought before Tesla's investments became public. With his twitter posts, he obviously tried to drive bitcoin's price to even higher levels.
When bitcoin was on ATH, he could have comfortably dumped large amounts and now is filling his bags again with cheap coins.

Undoubtedly, the crypto market is quite sensitive to manipulation and people who have a great influence on the masses can easily take advantage of this.

More than once we have witnessed famous people who have been prosecuted for their proven participation in manipulations on social media such as Twitter and gaining dividends from it.

I think that's part of the game, and whether Elon Musk does it on purpose or not to gain benefits, we don't know.

Isn't it obvious that Elon Musk is manipulating the Market? Everything he has done or said about any cryptocurrency is in a bid to make a profit. Everything about his support and eventually oppose of Bitcoin was market manipulation and all the Hype of Dogecoin too.

If Elon hadn't hype Dogecoin, this wouldn't have happened. Coinbase Pro opens up to dogecoin after cryptocurrency’s 6,000% gain this year (https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/01/coinbase-pro-opens-to-dogecoin-after-currencys-6000percent-gain-this-year.html)

I want to believe that there are many more well-developed crypto projects than Dodecoins that could have been listed on Coinbase pro that is still not traded there now but open to Dogecoin. These are all market manipulation and are all interrelated.

It is very clear now, a big businessman like Elon must be when he creates a sensation about something, and this time it is crypto, he must be doing a strategy to make a profit, by taking advantage of his popularity so that people will easily believe it, but sooner or later he will met a black point where people will no longer believe in the sensations he made, you and I are one of them.
True, Elon Musk will fall in time, but not anytime soon because he is a very smart person in building his own business at the expense of everything through the trust and fame that he already has now.

I fully agree with you, he did the same with Bitcoin as he did with Doge Coin, first he buys the coins himself and then he starts being optimistic about it on social media. The biggest problem here is his large fellowship and his reach on social media. People think he is a god because he will bring us to Mars, so they start believing in everything he says. Unfortunately he still has is own agenda and doesn't care about the common man. We should all stop trusting Elon Musk.

most likely true, but in my opinion Elon Musk is not completely manipulating the crypto market, because until now crypto is still running as usual, the problem is that the price goes down doesn't mean Elon releases negative news, and prices go up/down, often in the crypto space.

Of course, that's it, however, you can't blame the newbies to point all to Elon as some of them are here investing because of Elon's shilling on the DOGE, but later drop BTC on Tesla as a payment method, and we know that when bitcoin drop, altcoins drop even worse.

Elon is now the center of attraction for criticism, his charm seemed to be gone already.

of course, he is the one who created the current FUD and he is also the one who made the market soar high. he uses his huge following to manipulate the market. see since he said crypto mining is the cause of electricity problems, the impact of crypto prices, especially bitcoin, has decreased quite significantly. or when he says bitcoin can be used to buy tesla. everything he says is solely to control the market.

We owe it all to Elon Musk. I mean, if he wouldn't had talked about Dogecoin, prices wouldn't be this high right now. Early DOGE adopters like myself have greatly benefitted from Elon Musk's shilling across Twitter. If he keeps doing what he's doing, crypto could go all the way to Mars! Imagine Dogecoin hitting $1 per coin, while Bitcoin goes all the way to $100k. You'll be able to double or triple your investment in no time!

Of course, the same way Elon Musk leads a crypto to glory, the same way he can destroy it. Consider what happened with Bitcoin's price after Elon Musk complained about Bitcoin's high energy consumption. The pioneer cryptocurrency (BTC) went all the way down from nearly $57k to just $33k in a matter of days. It seems to me that the market is too tied to Elon Musk, as investors and traders follow his footsteps. This is bad for crypto, because it puts the entire market in the hands of a single person. The moment Elon Musk becomes bored of crypto, will be such when prices will go all the way down the drain faster than you could've ever imagined. Let's hope crypto stays resilient no matter how the market is manipulated in the long term. Just my opinion :)

OP's question has its merits, but the real question is where do we draw the line? If Warren Buffet says he has sold a stock or he considers buying a stock, the normal reaction of people is to listen to these gurus who have proven their success at a scale beyond human imagination. Sure, what Elon does is a bit different than what Warren does, but the effect is kind of similar.

He's manipulating the market yet people are now realizing that his words will only benefit him. Elon Musk could only manipulate the market completely ifost traders and investors would listen to him continuously. We shouldn't allow people like this to rule the market especially those who are spreading FUD.

Yes, he is definitely manipulating. I think I'm starting to get hairy now. I used to respect him and his work. I guess I have less respect for him now.
Now almost some of the people who used to respect him don't like him anymore now, because it's been proven that he never cared about other people so that every job he did was only for himself.

Yes, people have finally realized that believing what other people are saying is a mistake, but very fortunately the people who have benefited from Elon are making actions that can pump up the doge, even though Elon is actually doing it all for his own benefit.

Unfortunately, they'll learned it a hard way. It's not actually a total mistake if you believe in Elon as the coins tweeted had pumped, bitcoin and Dogecoin for instance, but the crucial stage here is knowing when to get out and especially on Dogecoin which is currently overvauled.

not old folks or big-money investors swayed by Elon's tweets.
we know Elon is a new rich guy who has a lot of followers. he brought a lot of new people into the crypto market which made the adoption increase in the market. new people with little skills in investing and trading in the crypto market will certainly be very easily influenced and panicked.

Not directly manipulating the market but he is using his influence to the new comers and probably some traders who are easily manipulated and control market from that he also pump the doge and make a lot of tweets to it where it was the main focus of all people and suddenly buy a Bitcoin worth Billion of $ and after some time saying that they will not accept it now and goes back to doge again.

Almost everyone is like that now, because when Elon Musk liked Bitcoin, everyone respected him, but when he said Dogecoin for everything, everyone started hating him because it could tear down the cryptocurrency market by selling Bitcoin to most investors.
Maybe without real life, "Elon Musk" ruined his reputation from cryptocurrency. I was surprised when I saw a tweet about meeting with Dogecoin dev, the price was 25 percent up! Even now, some people will invest because those investors need short term profit. We can block or unfollow him. Maybe in these ways he could lose our support. At least we can try to stop this manipulation.

I think Elon Musk couldn't earn a good profit from Bitcoin, so he shifted to Dogecoin and started tweets. His manipulation doesn't work in Bitcoin but literally works in Dogecoin. Even one of my friends earned from Dogecoin, I think he should sell the Dogecoin. I strongly believe that this manipulation won't last a very long time. In my opinion, I think that Elon is doing some abracadabra stuff in manipulating the crypto markets, particularly Bitcoin and Dogecoin. All I can think of is the current situation right now where one false or negative news about crypto or false tweet about crypto would result to a mini crash of some sorts and price just goes terribly down. Now that is good news for buyers of crypto but bad news for those who want to sell theirs for a profit. I think Elons manipulation attempt might be over for now and hopefully it will stay that way.

Again, with his tweet a few hours ago with bitcoin logo and a heart break, the market has plunged again. This is really manipulative in a sense that people are following whatever he tweets.

People has to learn that they shouldn't depend on Elon Musk's tweets because they're not helpful at all. All they follow is whatever he says and it gives value to him because they're giving that much reaction to the market.

That is a bit short-sighted. I think if a guy abuses his power and he exactly knows that he has the power to do that, you can't only blame the people following him. If you have power you are supposed to use it responsibly. Maybe he even does and we just don't know it yet. He pushed DOGE into the limelight and there may be good reasons for him that he just yet hasn't shared.

Yup, Elon is a business man and he does use the power he somewhat has over the crypto market. Is like seeing a tweet and a few seconds later see how everybody overreacts to it all.

Personally, I find it ridiculous that this is happening and that the space is filled with people who are so reactive but this is why the man keeps on playing with the market - it works and why not capitalise on it!

He is manipulating, people will manipulate on something they can cast their influence and Elon Musk is a man with a huge influence in the investment industry who can cast influence when it comes to investment and technology, he first tried it on Dogecoin and he succeeded and now that he and we all know that he can do it, he will do it again, it's up to people to realize this scenario.

it may or may not be true, I think some people are taking advantage of this situation to follow Elon's words to cause an exaggerated reaction than usual, like if Elon says good news then they make it look like it happened and vice versa
I'm not sure 1 person can control the whole market completely.

Thank you. :)

Im of the opinion that the market is more than any single individual. It may seem like Elon musk is manipulating the market and enforcing his will, but the market is going to surprise everyone. The next wave of bull run is certainly going to be higher than what we have presently and several manipulators would be disappointed.

Elon Musk is a high-profile individual so his words can impact everything.

But NO, he's not manipulating the market because after all, why should he? His tweet is based on his view and people are riding it. If there's manipulation, he can move his coins but there's nothing such as that, and what he's just doing is making some shill tweets.

Investors are not dumb. Since Elon creates hype, they know for sure that there will be a time that he will also do another way around and some investors take advantage of that.

Elon Musk can manipulate or have impact on bitcoin price as he bought bitcoin. The amount of bitcoin elon musk have it does have impact on smaller amount of bitcoin owners if elon musk decides to manipulate the price and some whales may take advantages of this. If this cause FUD then they will be able to buy the bitcoins that will be sold by them.

I share your opinion and I also think that manipulation requires some element of intention. For example if Musk makes a tweet or let's say a bad tweet knowing that Bitcoin will go down a little and before that he shorts Bitcoin with leverage, that is manipulation of a market to me because you take an action you seek to benefit from at the detriment of other market participants. I am only talking about markets here.
If he doesn't benefit from it at all because he doesn't have substantial positions, it is more like him having fun and laughing at himself wondering why his words can move trillion dollar markets.

I do not think that there is a good reason to believe Elon has no influence over crypto just yet, people are mad at him for now but the day he makes a good move and increase price of doge or something else will be the day when he is seen as a savior once again and that is not going to be a problem.

There is really nothing that could be done to remove all of his influence over crypto just yet, we need to let him destroy himself and that is a better method, because in the end he keeps making mistakes that causes prices to fall and causing people to hate him, if I tried to make people listen to me and get him to be ignored I would fail but he does it to himself very well which is awesome to see.

He is. Elon musk is clearly manipulating the market regardless of it being intentional or unintentional. But the most important thing here is not Elon Musk's influence over the entire crypto industry but the coins themselves, particularly Bitcoin. If Bitcoin or any other coins in this industry gets easily swayed just by the words of a few influential people, then that just means that the coin itself doesn't deserve it's price. But this is a good thing that it happened now than later since this will mold this industry into a better one in the comming months or years. In time, the well established coins in this industry will have some immunity to these type of people which then would mark a new beginning for such coins.

Regarding this I myself also do not know whether he did this for his own benefit or if there was something else,
what is clear is that I personally really don't know what Elon Musk's goals are,
We'll see later whether Elon Musk's contribution will have a positive impact or on the contrary it will have a negative impact on the crypto world

He is really a great influencer and many people are idolizing him but the thing is that due to he is famous and a great influencer, he is using it in order to create a manipulation inside the market just like what he has done in doge which he introduced it that he will buy tons of it and the price of the doge arise which is we clearly see that it is a market manipulation isn't it?

He is manipulating, people will manipulate on something they can cast their influence and Elon Musk is a man with a huge influence in the investment industry who can cast influence when it comes to investment and technology, he first tried it on Dogecoin and he succeeded and now that he and we all know that he can do it, he will do it again, it's up to people to realize this scenario.

People are foolish enough to follow a single man to make their investment decisions on crypto, when the whole space has always been about being decentralized and free from the middleman. Elon Musk must have made a lot of money with his recent tactics. Bitcoin went down for a short period of time after his criticism, while Dogecoin went all the way to the moon. It's up to this date, where Bitcoin is struggling to get past the $40k range, while Dogecoin hasn't "moved an inch". Who knows if Elon Musk continues to manipulate the market in the long run for his own financial benefit?

If this keeps up, DOGE might go to $1, while Bitcoin may be headed to a price below $20k. Imagine what would be of the crypto market if Elon Musk quits. There will be a massive "bloodbath" in price that would leave current investors disappointed! The market will surely recover albeit at a slow and steady pace. What matters is not the price per coin, but rather its usefulness. As long as an specific cryptocurrency is useful, nothing else matters. Just my thoughts ;D

Pro traders are following him because they know people will react to his tweet. So they are taking advantage of that and taking a short or long position with his tweet. I think what Elon is doing is bad and won't benefit crypto anyway. He just wants to make money no matter by promoting a shit project or doing unnecessary tweets about crypto bitcoin.

It is clear that elon musk is trying to manipulate the market through his Twitter, and there are a lot of people who believe in it.
If the market still has people investing on the advice of others, elon musk is still going on

not all of them, he owns a pretty big bts so if he says it has had a huge impact on the crypto market, his tweets make the market go up and down fast because a lot of people believe him

He is rich. People will follow whatever the fuck in this world he tweets and they'll take it as a investment advice. It is like them getting whispered "hey invest to this coin, psst don't tell the whales ok?"
People would dream to be like him... maybe not to be one of his employees but maybe his success.

Elon Musk is an extra person in this market, he has a very strong influence on this market. Because of his posts, the price of Bitcoin collapses, and after that the entire cryptocurrency market falls, and Bitcoin at one time hinders the development of other promising projects, as it pulls their price to the bottom.

You guys should stop blaming Elon Musk alone for the crash. He wasn't completely responsible. There were other causes too, starting from China throwing people into prison for mining bitcoins and ending with various rumors such as more strict regulation on bitcoin. You see, it alone cannot cause the price to crash or rise. We didn't any difference when he tweeted he/tesla has diamond hands, did we?
People would dream to be like him... maybe not to be one of his employees but maybe his success.
People do dream of being his employee.

I believe that Elon Musk is one of many whales who manipulates the market. He is a great influencer that can easily influence the mind of the people either it is good or bad and it has a huge impact in crypto market. I think he did it for his own benefit and popularity.
He's more than a whale, most of whale who try to manipulate the market will definitely try to pay some media or certain group of fudders but with elon it just needs his own tweet from his own account that makes him spend almost no expense to manipulate the market.
Imagine if you have the power to do that, influencing people just by using your own freaking tweet and of course elon is manipulating the market like so hard, there's reason why he keep taunting the whole crypto community despite SEC warns, that is for his own benefit.
and he got all the time to keep doing just that.

Elon Musk made the price of bitcoin very high and made the crypto currency more famous and widespread, it is undeniable that the price could reach its highest point because he always tweeds and that makes the price rise at the same time people buy bitcoin, most likely Elon musk has already made plans by buying bitcoin first at the lowest price and selling it at the highest price however it can be seen that at this time his position has made a lot of profit and has started issuing fud making the bitcoin effect continue to fall until now.

I guess its a YES that in some point Elon Musk manipulated the market by some many ways such as by posting in his social media that created a FUDs and panic to his followers and then after then retweet again to create FOMOs. I can see that he is the latest version of John McAfee and will definitely fall down soon.

Thank you. :)
Elon Musk is one big market manipulator because of the fact that he either creating a FOMOs or FUDs that destruct the fundamentals and the normal volatility of the market. Because of his childish act he is on sight of the famous hacker "Anonymous".

But I wondered why at this point of time He never post anything that will dogecoin could rise. I don't think so, with a very large market cap like now of course to manipulate the market, I'm sure there are thousands who are like Elon Musk.

But for now, Elon Musk is the most intensely discussed the Crypto market, and you can see the reality like that, as an example when he pumped doge, he influenced many of his followers to buy the coin so that there was an increase in value in the Doge coin, and now discussing the effect Negative of BTC mining, as a result a decrease in the value of BTC. Maybe there are many like Elon but the most striking is him.
I'm not surprised at this. All the same, everyone who did not come out with BTC will be long-term with a good profit. If you are exiting now fixing losses, then you have no place in this market.

News about adoption and his company Tesla accepting bitcoin again. I think I've seen some screenshots that he has posted again about going back to what the usual of accepting bitcoin again.

It takes a whole lot for a single man to be able to determine the ups and downs of a particular coin in the crypto market and not just an ordinary coin Bitcoin for that matter. Looking at it from my angle I will say it was because if personal height the individual has gotten to. Taking Elon Musk as an example you will know that this man has achieved a lot. He has built a multi-billion dollars business, and it's natural for people to always listt to whatever he said. With over a million followers on twitter allow. He sure knows how to manipulate the market.

He is doing it again and the market is going bonkers. He is doing what any rich person will do to make more fortune for himself and people are falling for his tweets like he will create something great for them. At the end of the day, he will buy himself with all the profit he gained by manipulating us. The BTC price now claimed the $40k mark and fell below again. These manipulations have to stop, otherwise, the credibility of bitcoin will be ruined because of these people.

Elon was only speculating, and I believed that he also holds bigger quantity of cryptocurrency. So in this situation, he was really an iconic personality who've been taking serious outlook towards bitcoin and other cryptocurrency coins particular with doge which he also known to be positively driven.

From an investor's perspective, quite effective though as it really shakes the market. BTC was almost on the verge of returning back to less than $30,000.

Rather than think of only Elon Musk, people should take the advantage of accumulating on the dip he created. He's maybe manipulating the market but the dip is the opportunity for us too as we should admit, most average traders are having difficulty accumulating some altcoins that were being pushed up when BTC price is making a rally.

Not only he is manipulating the markets but lately he is also blackmailing as well. Dude is saying he wants clean energy from miners or basically he will sell more. He said he would be not accepting bitcoin for tesla basically but that was like saying he could sell as well, if you are not buying anymore then what does that mean? It just means that he will keep selling more and more and more over course of a time period while not buying any.

Long story short I feel like dude is just saying "let me rule crypto world the way I want to, or I will keep saying bad shit about it and make it go down" and that is just a horrible thing we are in right now. Weren't we suppose to be decentralized? I mean how can some rich dude manage to do something like this and we can still call ourselves decentralized? I am very worried about the future of crypto if this keeps happening.

so here many people emphasize that btc is specifically for strong hands. At first I didn't understand what the word meant but after seeing 2017 and now many have lost in btc as a result of this temporary decline I understand why btc is only for strong hands.
because basically everyone has a sense of panic especially with regard to their assets. just try if they change their mindset to be more relaxed and don't think too much about a temporary decline because of this billionaire fud I think many people will not worry too much about btc going down now because they are sure that btc will go up again over time

Exactly. People are foolish enough to follow one person for all of their crypto-related investments. Elon Musk may be a multi-millionaire but that doesn't make him smart. He doesn't seem to know much about crypto/Blockchain tech these days. Investing in Dogecoin without doing a research about its technical aspects is more than enough proof that Elon Musk is a newcomer in crypto land. He's only been manipulating the market with his comments across Twitter for his own financial benefit. Newcomers into crypto will become "rekt" once their investments go all the way down the drain.

Dogecoin may have benefitted from Elon Musk's comments, but the effects won't last for long. Anything above 1 cent (USD) per DOGE is considered overpriced these days. Imagine if Dogecoin hits $1 with Elon Musk's constant shilling. It'd be insane! I'd suggest anyone to stop following Elon Musk and just follow a cryptocurrency project's development progress. Concrete results is what matters above all else. Just my thoughts ;D

Yes, Elon Musk is messing around with the crypto market, he first started with just tweeting dogecoin meme which he used to pump up the price of dogecoin, same thing with bitcoin when he announced that his company (tesla) has started accepting bitcoin it helped bitcoin pumped to over $50,000+, then after that he made a fud tweet about bitcoin mining affecting the environment, that tweet plus China fud made bitcoin plunge down to $30,000 and its really annoying, the crypto market should never depend on what one person thinks about it, he's really manipulating the price abd sine people are getting rekt for it.

Though he can't manipulate the market because no one can, but he has somewhat big influence in the market and influence how people think about it. And if you are a long time crypto user, I guess by now, how to react on this kind of hype.

Also I think that crypto up and down related to his tweets will be for a little time as people will insult their minds from his tweet with time.

He is not manipulating the market, market manipulator is whale. Whale use his tweet as a news to dump their token.
When elon tweet something then whale dump or pump the market base on the tweet. So people will blame elon and its tweet. Another matket dumper probably silk road seller who just going out of jail considering there are many transactions happen from 2012-2013 wallet in May.

Elon Musk made changes to his tweet. First he said that Bitcoin is a digital currency that can be used in Telsa companies. Then he left Bitcoin and sold it in bulk, and by saying that Dogecoin could buy Tesla cars, so people raced to buy Dogecoin, and sell Bitcoin. So what do you think about this kind of tweet?

But it can't last long, can it?sooner or later, his tweets will lose their power and influence on the cryptocurrency market, and besides, many already have a negative attitude towards him, as they understand that apart from manipulations, he does not bring anything good to the development of cryptocurrencies.
His tweets loss power within few days, and soon after the same he does something else adding the term Bitcoin to it. This way he tries to keep the market moving upward and downward. At some point people have started to make their price predictions based on his statements. This has caused more users to have a better earning out of trading. Now also his statements have impact on the market, because we can't say he's been unfollowed by the cryptocurrency users.

There is not even a need to ask a question like this.  ;D  Of course, he is manipulating the market and I bet he is enjoying it as well. Besides, Tesla has made an incredible amount of investment into Bitcoin. I assume that Elon Musk isn't happy about the current situation. And he wants to make things easier for the market to rise again in the recent times.

No, he doesn't manipulate the market through his tweets but all those ideas made several people rant on their assets.

OH, so that's why the SEC is after him and that's why he had to pay a fine to them 2 years ago, because he doesn't do anything wrong and it's all people saying bad things about him.  ;)

Elon was only speculating, and I believed that he also holds bigger quantity of cryptocurrency.

Yes, he was speculating for his own benefit and at other people's expense.

He is enjoying it because it's very beneficial to him. He's aware of what such words coming from him do in the market.
I assume that Elon Musk isn't happy about the current situation. And he wants to make things easier for the market to rise again in the recent times.
He is happy in the situation that he's manipulating the market. He might have bought a lot but later he had sold 10% too.

Elon musk must get karma for his treatment in the cryptocurrency world which is clearly manipulating the DOGE market by taking personal gain.
He deliberately targeted the cryptocurrency market because of the very high volatility and also the economic percentage against the USD is not too large.

The anger of the residents of the crypto market has peaked and this is the effect of Elon's tweets arbitrarily manipulating the market in his favour, this deserves to be accepted by Elon as a consequence. He's clearly glorifying doge and trying to bring bitcoin down, he's even tweeted that butcoins are a bad thing.

well, he has the power for it. the most real coin being manipulated is the Doge. however, currently the price of doge is also decreasing because the price of bitcoin is falling quite deep. well, for now, there has been no significant movement from Elon to make bitcoin prices or doge dumps or pumps. however, it's very clear that the coin's price hike is currently being driven by the posts updated on his twitter.

DOGE now lost nearly 70% of its value from its ATH when Elon Musk was actively shilling it. If I were him I would feel bad, but that guy doesn't feel bad. He also doesn't feel bad for his thousands and thousands of employees who work under bad conditions, low payment and an atmosphere of psychological pressure. Too bad he made fun of people in the crypto scene because some of them are from poor countries who may have trust his words a bit too much.

Is that true that Elon Musk has the capability to control and manipulate the whole crypto market? I doubt it. I think there are other whales behind it and not just Elon. Good to ride on what's happining in the market. Buy more now and hold because market start recovering again after a few dump. It's not a bearish market yet, so hurry up and fill your bags.

Could be. For what I know, there's extreme market manipulation by those who want to get the most out of crypto. Usually, whales and the wealthy are behind the ups and downs. It's good for them, but not good for the average person like you and me. Until the crypto market becomes regulated, we'll keep experiencing "hiccups" along the way. Volatility will persist until everything is put under control. The more crypto/Blockchain tech becomes mainstream, the better it'll be for the stability of the market.

Elon Musk can try to manipulate the market by spreading either negative or positive comments across social media platforms. But people will ultimately decide whenever to follow his comments or not. I wouldn't worry about Elon Musk as long as crypto/Blockchain tech remains decentralized. Just my opinion :)

I must give credit to Jeff Bezos who wants to use his own rocket and fly to another planet together with his brother. I am curious to see when Elon Musk decides to put his own life on the line and use one of his own rockets to go to another planet. So far he hasn't risked anything except for money, and even that is doubtful.

wtf....hey dude, go to your local board.

Today there was a new event of extreme volatility in SHIBA's prices after Musk tweeted that the name of his Shiba Inu dog breed will be called Floki.
Among other things, I have already noticed that tokens also called Floki have been made... a scam behind the manipulation.
so Floki will be the next shit memetoken, i think the market became a zoo because of Elon.

Elon Musk got it promoted on mainstream media. This is out of the question. But have small investors suffered from it? Also yes. The problem begins with what goal does musk have and what profit? With Dogecoin statements, it shows me that he likes to fool around. He doesn't always care what he triggers with his tweets. Anyone who has taken a closer look at him in the course of his career will find that he does not always do useful things.  ;D

He's just got warned by the SEC, elon is the kind of guy who seems chill but actually opportunistic imo and if there's chance arise he'll definitely do that again and I doubt he spend so much time shilling just to retreat without real reason like that.
though it seems he's holding making some shill specially for btc because the market is rather bearish and his shill will have significantly less impact, he's just waiting for opportunity thats it.

Thank you. :)

Well, I can not say that Elon Musk is manipulated market in direct way, but I think it is kind of indirectly because of Elon Musk is a huge person in the society so his tweeted is giving a big impact in the market. We can see that so many people rushing to buy Dogecoin because of his tweeted and we can see now after the reverse tweeted, the price is dropping.

Elon Musk has too much influence over crypto's prices on the market. People seem to follow his comments on Twitter to either buy or sell crypto. They don't care about doing their own research, since they're only following the hype. As long as their pockets are filled with money in the least time possible, nothing else matters. I'm pretty sure investors will regret themselves once they find out they've spent their hard-earned money into a useless cryptocurrency like Dogecoin. It will all go down the drain once Elon Musk becomes bored of it.

Bitcoin's still struggling to get back to $50k, largely because of Elon Musk's negative comments about it. Tesla's decision to stop accepting Bitcoin as payment method, alongside Elon Musk's criticism of Bitcoin's high energy consumption, has led to the downfall in Bitcoin's price. How long will this keep up, is beyond me. Someday people will realize that it's not about Elon Musk, but rather about crypto/Blockchain tech making our world a better place by decentralizing the global economy. Once they realize that, crypto will remain resilient regardless of a single man's actions in the real world. Just my thoughts ;D

we do not deny that fomo from elon musk is currently very dominant and that always happens with price movements from bitcoin, but all of that is certainly not 100% following fomo only from twitter but there are many other factors that cause prices to move up and down as far as examples have shown. described some of our friends above.

In my view, fomo is most powerful when the Chinese government provides policies for crypto users.

I think when have great chance later if Elon Musk make new tweet about coin I will try entry early but sell faster, not any holding moment from shit coin because can be dump to lower price.

If he has this opportunity why wouldn't he use it? It's possible that he manipulated the market but markets overreaction is the real problem here. If market was mature enough there wouldn't be that manipulation by only one person. Bitcoin is way too powerful now, I don't think they can manipulate the market that big again. Bigger and more mature market is better for everyone.

That's the cycle that he does. He'll buy and whenever he's ready to pump it, he'll tweet good things just as the usual guy that pump and dump. You'll always get to see him do that whenever he's done buying. And when he's done selling, you'll barely notice his actions.
That's how he manipulate the market, when he buys, tweets good and vice versa.

From announcing that it does not support Bitcoin payments to supporting Bitcoin payments, you said that he did not maliciously manipulate the market. This is absolutely impossible. 1.5 billion US dollars entered the currency market, supporting Bitcoin all the way. Then according to what he said, he bought 10% of the Dogecoin position, then shipped it, suppressed Bitcoin, bought low, completed the operation of selling high and buying low, saying that he did not manipulate the market. Impossible.

I believe Elon Musk is manipulating the market .it's a terrible thing.Elon has a very strong personal influence,so his trading decisions on Bitcoin and Dogecoin have affected many people. If an investor trades based on the views of an investor's performance currency, it is likely to become a victim again. Sk's view may change, and he is no different from other traders in this respect.
In fact  large institutions and big fish like Elon can unscrupulously publish various opinions that affect the market, and then cooperate with funds to cut leeks, and no one cares.

ElonMusk is a big Hype bearer in today's cryptoqurrency market, in fact every time what he says suddenly booms in the market like the case of Dogecoin, btc & others. looks strange but it's real, if you look at his background, there can be no doubt because he is one of the richest people in the world and has many project shares, one of which is Tesla.
Look God in cryptocurrency and almost investor make Elon Musk as guider which one coin to buy, I think Elon Musk is most greatest hyper person because late few minutes from his coin tweet you can loss more than 30%. He has many team and I think before make some tweet he has ready to sell coin, after all his assets sold look price dump and never come back to higher before any new elon musk tweet.

Well I would just call it that he has too much influence to his followers instead, because from how even the media reports his words a lot. He does not have direct control of crypto especially Bitcoin because of course, the usual word decentralized.
His followers, maybe not all, are all just blindly throwing their money to crypto and he would just hype the crap out of it in hope that he will gain more followers from the community of the coin he brings the hype at.

Thank you. :)

there are 2 points of view that I can give to Elon Musk, in the first point of view the presence of Elon Musk in crypto can provide a positive value, but on the other hand he is just a selfish person who only thinks about his personal gain to increase wealth. From both points of view I conclude that Cryptocurrency will continue to improve even though Elon Musk is no longer participating in it

I think he is having fun with the market. As you can see he is supporting a lot of random mem tokens. For example mom doge, damn it's sick :) Only a sick person will do it having such a huge power and influence on the market.

Elon Musk in my opinion is a very influential person in the crypto market. And I agree that every time he issues a statement it will have an impact on the price of the coin. From my observations, Mr. Musk is a Doge lover. If anyone thinks that he is just manipulating the market, to me, that's his greatness.

I think yes, it is very possible for Elon to manipulate the market, and he is the sole investor, I think stop following Elon's words, because Elon has made too many disappointments, his words are always inconsistent, which makes the crypto market go up and down
Many people disappointed with Elon Musk right now and try how to kill this person because make them loss much in Doge coin and now dump to lower price, I think never try to buy hype coin where advertising by Elon Musk, just growing up few second and then coin dump under your expectation. Make doge coin as your learning for later if Elon Musk make new tweet with new coin again and keep careful for entry or not.

I agree with you, but whether Elon Musk's tweets on twitter have a big impact on Bitcoin, I haven't found any accurate evidence of Elon Musk's big influence on Bitcoin.

However, I followed the posts on twitter and other media, people are very sure the price of bitcoin will drop after his tweet, can friends give a little reference, that Elon Musk's role is big in the next few days to answer my doubts .

It's true that Elon Musk manipulated the market to profit financially, considering what he was doing was theory influencing people to distrust. This means that there is some kind of concept that wants to be done to destroy the price of the coin, then when the chaos occurs he will buy the coin on a large scale.

If Elon would not benefit from his tweet, why would he keep tweeting?

He knows that his influence is big, his statement can make the market move and that means he can manipulate the market.
Of course, we can never prove he is manipulating the market, but the way I see it, he is probably manipulating the market now.

Think this way, he is a billionaire, he has all the resources to move the market, and his tweet is very influencing.

Well, He have that big impact not on Bitcoin but on the whole crypto market, You can see it's impact on some altcoin especially meme coin like Doge Or Shiba, The price rise more than 10x. He was the billionare and internet celebrity too, He have the power to move or manipulate market with his audience for sure but for now it's only for non-crypto people i suppose since last his decision really give negative impact to the crypto market & community.

Yes of course Elon Musk is manipulating the market.. He always shilling dogecoin and it successfully pumped, and remember that he tweeted about tesla will not accept bitcoin after he tweeted the price of bitcoin went down.. Elon Musk is a manipulator.

He is definitely manipulating the market, but it is very hard to prove that he is gaining from this manipulation. He has already made it clear that he don't own any BTC or DOGE. So we can't argue that he is manipulating the markets for his own benefits. But that doesn't rule out the possibility that Elon is indirectly benefiting from the manipulations. For a billionaire like him, it won't take much time to purchase cryptocurrency anonymously through shell companies. The ownership will remain hidden, as these companies are set up in offshore tax havens such as Cayman islands.

I, for one, have a different viewpoint; admit it or not, Elon has his own allure, with both positive and bad tweets influencing the market price. If you pay attention, this is more for businesses that need quick cash to prepare for the execution of structural or non-structural work that will be completed once the contract with the owner is signed.

Both sides are prone with manipulators, they know what they've doing and they will continue enjoying the luxuries since people are not learning the right ways of investment.

Always stay away from any news that affects the market and rely with how you understand the situation. Manipulation starts once the
whales see the opportunities, if everyone are aware of that and will keep on their own assessments,

the power of whales will have no direct impacts and  chances of changing their positions are very high.

No doubt China Fud has more weight than Elon, but I think that we are now used to China Fud, Elon Fud as at then came as a surprise to the crypto world entirely, with or without price manipulation, cryptocurrency remains one of the most popular forms of investment no doubt, I just hope that the driving force of the manipulators subside to the bearest minimum

I think Elon Musk is trying to maneuver, hoping he can move Dogecoin, but can we believe that Elon Musk has an important role in raising the price of Doge or lowering the price of BTC, isn't the concept in business that the higher the demand the higher the selling price.

I think Elon Musk is just trying to bluff and manipulate the crypto market under the pretext to increase his profits personally, crypto can't be linked to one person because of his existence, if the influence is big then the chance to drop Btc price is much more profitable, and why not just do it?

There is a desire that Elon Musk does not convey to the public about his tweets, I see this for personal interest, but what he does there are two possibilities that occur, first people think Elon Musk has an important role in Crypto, second is to beat the market, then people need like Elon Musk to undercut the price of the coin.

So there are people who feel benefited from this incident, one example is people who invest large amounts of doge when Elon Musk criticizes in various media, then the price of coin doge goes up meaning they benefit financially, but overall we don't see that big of an effect his criticism.

Another market twist after this event? But better than nothing, if the fall continue might take a while but the recovery,
as weak holders will sell out and will stop investing.

With this market positive movements, another chance for newcomers to notice that there's
money that moving greatly and the potentials is still high.

Let them bring good news and attract more investors, at the end of the day it's your hard work by doing research will
play the big role in succeeding from this market.

I don't think his tweet has no more impact at all, maybe there's still a little impact and I think that makes him stays confident on still shilling. Have you heard, he made a new coin of his own already? well, if he doesn't believe he can still attract people to invest, he would not make his own coin.

Now the market is struggling, we will see a lot of negative comments about Elon but when the market was still bullish and there's a warning, people just seem to ignore it.

The way Elon tweeted was provoking that is true, and he wanted to play around a bit. But from another standpoint it is also unfair to say that anyone who is a multi billionaire and can move a market is also a manipulator. It's like when Warren Buffet announces the purchase of a certain company has been completed and it goes up afterwards by X%. Does he manipulate the market? Should he be forbidden to talk at all in public? That's a delicate topic.

you can see how easy it is for Elon to say something contradictory, it's clearly a game that was intentional by Elon.

I think if indeed Elon Musk has a surefire way of controlling the market, and one of them is by way of tweets that he does. Moreover, we all know that Elon Musk is a person who has a big influence in the crypto industry

In crypto Elon doesn't have any influence that makes him able to make a pump from a single tweet it's the influence of his militant supporters who believe in Elon so much and take advantage of it. this is not an influence that comes from crypto, indeed he is an influencer who can bring his followers to be here. and coincidentally the people who believe in him are people who are new to cryoto and still don't really understand the system here so they will all believe what Elon says

Clearly, Elon is manipulating the market considering how big his assets are and how influential he is to persons who are A: under his relevant network in the crypto market or B: people who are new to the market and are lazy to do their own research and rely on big people like him for advice, well, in fact, they are fool into playing his strategies for his own good. But on the other hand, if those people have won through him, then I see no problem in a win-win situation. It's just a matter of our own judgement when it comes to trading, investing bitcoin and other coins connected.

Unfortunately, we have late comers who are not in the right timing, they accumulate DOGE at a high price, now they are holding and holding DOGE will bounce back and bring them some profit.

It looks like no. If I'm not mistaken, at the last conference dedicated to bitcoin, he said that he has bitcoin, but how did this affect the price? No way.
Because the price changes not because of Elon Musk's tweets, but from completely different things.

Tesla today published quarterly profit figures where they indicated a loss of $20 million from investments in bitcoin, which is significantly less than the projected loss of $100 million. https://tesla-cdn.thron.com/static/ZBOUYO_TSLA_Q2_2021_Update_DJCVNJ.pdf?xseo=&response-content-disposition=inline%3Bfilename%3D%22q2_2021.pdf%22

someone like Elon Musk is a sly businessman who has big capital of course what he does is only for profit without caring what will happen to other people, as well as joining him in crypto, I think he only benefits from what he has done and in the same way he has manipulated the crypto market.

Everyone is sad after knowing what Elon is actually doing, in the end we know, Elon Musk supports cryptocurrency only for himself, to benefit, by carrying the name tesla, after some time, he started to undermine that trust, and now I myself will not follow what elon Musk is rumored again.

That's a delicate topic.
what we hope is not a ban as you mean. it will probably focus more on Elon's tweets that don't play tricks on their followers to change market trends.
you can see how easy it is for Elon to say something contradictory, it's clearly a game that was intentional by Elon.

no matter what you do, after all, Elon and other friends, have tried to enliven the crypto market in their own way. many say he is a loser in the future. but we hope he will stay well and continue to speak well for the crypto market.

When you look at his tweets precisely, he didn't really play tricks. It is a lot about the people and their tendency to interpret stuff. Imagine how many things Elon Musk should not be allowed to tweet such that people stop interpreting whatever he tweets. If he tweets a banana, everyone is looking on coinmarketcap whether there is a coin that is called banana coin. I mean seriously, that is also nuts, not by Elon Musk, but by the people. Whatever he tweets, people will freak out and come up with stories.

There are people he helped to make huge profits and from getting rich and these are DogeCoin bag holders but a majority of people are not lucky to make profit from the Dogecoin hype and these are late investors on DogeCoin, we could have reached the $50k level if not for Elon Musk interference I still believe he has influence in the market, he is beginning to be like the late John McAfee in his influence in the market.

It's a very natural trait to happen to everyone, because if anyone had the same abilities as Elon Musk now, I think he would also do almost the same thing as Elon Musk because the human passion is to seek as much profit as possible for himself without looking at other people around him.

yes I think not one hundred percent Elon Musk is cheating the market, because the crypto market so many other billionaires are competing with him, maybe Elon Musk is manipulating the crypto market, he is the richest man so many people can accept his words.

in the market we will not see people knocking each other down, unlike in real business. here indeed there is an opportunity to make a profit by increasing the price, by influencing other people to buy it too, by using a large-scale purchase stimulant so that the price experiences a bullrun, it will be an attraction for other people to buy it too, and for that, as investors we must good at handling this kind of thing

The way you talk feeds exactly into the hands of people like Warren Buffet and Peter Schiff. They say that Bitcoiners only try to influence others to buy it at a higher price, which then leads them to feel motivated to find an even greater fool to buy at an even higher price. Bitcoin is much more than speculation and we shouldn't influence people to buy it, but educate them to enable them to make an informed decision on their own.

Elon Musk is a human being who has the most assets in the world and if he is able to manage it well and execute the strategy he wants, I think that's fine and not a problem, because he also wants to make profits like other billionaires in the crypto space.

Yeh I think Elon Musk is the person which really little bit manipulating the Crypto market.
Because everyone know that he is now world wealthy man so people surely trust on him. So when he tweet about bitcoin or other Cryptocurrency many of people buy them.
While when Elon Musk tweet against Bitcoin many of people sell thier Bitcoin as a result bitcoin price goes down.
So that the thing through which Elon Musk manipulate the market.

Elon Musk knows that people in crypto are looking to make a quick buck, so he manipulates the market for his own benefit. It's why Dogecoin went from being worth nothing to almost $1 (USD) since the beginning of 2021. Bitcoin also enjoyed high gains with an ATH of nearly $60k per coin. Now that Mr. Musk stopped tweeting about crypto/Blockchain tech, the market has stalled. It's yet the day where major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are struggling to reach a new ATH. I bet Elon Musk made a lot of profit by pumping Bitcoin and Dogecoin. The current dip makes a great opportunity to buy coins at a discount to sell them at a higher price. Elon Musk knows this opportunity so he's taking advantage of it by spreading further criticism against Bitcoin to fill his pockets with money. I hope the market becomes resilient over time where a single person's comments will not affect crypto's mainstream demand whatsoever. Just my thoughts ;D

We all know crypto is speculative in nature and what these markets wait for is for someone with a match stick to start the fire, and unfortunately Elon Musk is the person with a match stick these days.

With a few tweets here and there about bitcoin, dogecoin etcetera the markets react with what has been said which is a form of manipulation, of course other kinds of manipulation do exist the most common being the whales use their crypto bags to influence price which isn't what Elon is about .

What are your thoughts? Do you think Elon Musk is manipulating the crypto market? If not, why? Will crypto carry on as usual without Mr. Musk in play? Or is it too late? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

Some a people say that Elon Musk is manipulating the crypto market, and until recently I didn't understand what he meant by manipulating the market. Because of the crypto trend in 2017, Elon Musk's name didn't appear in the crypto world, but it's happening exactly as it is now. The price of crypto pumps sharply, and after that it donws. Who did that? And where was Elon Musk then? And why not say market manipulation?

I see the cryptocurrency market as big as it is that it is still subject to a lot of fundamental factors. That is why it is easy for market to move when people of influence have a hold on the market and are able to influence price movement.
A lot of people see this as opportunities to make a quick money but, thosr that influence the markets make a lot more money.
So i believe Elon musk actually manipulates the markets for his own personal financial gains and the unregulated nature of the blockchain market helps this to happen

Yes, I agree with you on this concern. Elon musk tweets more about doge madly because he said that doge will beat bitcoin is it possible. Though we know that in crypto currency everything is possible but I think it is impossible. We should know one thing that is in crypto platform every one is the trader here some one will loss and some one  will take the profit. Here Elon Musk is not excluding but we have to day that he is the influencer in the crypto market.

If there are people who know that Musk doesn't always do useful things, why are there still many people who still believe in him and also follow him, because people who are easily deceived by others are because they trust people they don't even know more closely.
Does anyone here know Elon Musk closely? No, we don't know him, what we know is that his company and how useful it is for the innovation of the world, this guy was popular with his tech, so when he enters into crypto, people believe that they can follow him and make some money too.

In short, he is using his popularity and there's no proof yet he is manipulating the market but based on how we see, he is manipulating the market.

What to think, when it known to all that elon musk already done such manipulating serveral time and thats only because making more many. He has millions of followers and he is using millions of people'r power indirectly, to fulfill whatever he want. Its clear that he has large contribution behind bitcoin recently halving from $60k to $30k. Even few weeks ago, he tweeted for vote about telsa should accept doge or not! And it is clearly seen that, another manipulation is about to happened soon
