Title: Don't you think Bitcoin will die over the summer?
Post by: SadlyFox on June 04, 2021, 12:43:52 PM
Recently, the price of bitcoin has dropped by almost 1/3.  The beginning of May is 58 thousand, now it is already 38 thousand. The chart is steadily falling down.  Will Bitcoin die in the summer? :D

Bitcoin price can only decrease, it can not die, I do not even think bitcoin price can decrease more than $20000. The price will increase again with time. You should not panic, this is not new in bitcoin price increase and decrease. The price will increase, later decrease, people will use the decrease price opportunity to buy and waiting for increase, the price will increase back even more than the last highest price increase.

Yes it will die. It will go down to zero. You better sell all your BTCs right now and give them to the whales and Elon Musk. You will be safe with FIAT. Sell everything now, just do it.

LOL. Nope. This drops absolutely fine for BTC. It can even drop to 20k point but it'll rise again. And i'm pretty sure we'll see new ATH in the next year.

Price corrections/dumps/drop doesn't in any way threaten the sustainability of Bitcoin, it's basically obvious that Bitcoin isn't one of those lottery pump and dump coins that 'dies' leaving investors with worthless coins; there have been quite a lot of manipulations here and there of late, especially from Elon, which only affects the price cause some investors don't understand the network and don't do their own research.

The thing is, only 'get rich quick investors' would think Bitcoin will die 'in the summer' or anytime for that matter cause they always want a spike so they can make profits for the short time, if you study Bitcoins historical price movements, it's use cases, the speed at which institutional investors are adopting it, the ways it's changing the monotonous financial system, it's mainstream movement etc, you'd understand it's more than a coin that can just merely 'die'.

there are many factors that bitcoin goes down, from people's boredom and the difficulty of making profits in buying and selling..
and also many big countries that forbid to transact in any case using bitcoin, therefore the fear of potential investors changes and changes direction to make transactions with bitcoin or any token..

You are not right about this, how can the price of bitcoin drop to zero, when many people just want its price to drop to certain level and buy or buy again, do not expect bitcoin to drop to zero, it can not even drop to $10000 for now not to talk of dropping to zero. And expect another all-time-high later after long term period, probably after the next halving.

Or is this ironically expressed? I have seen many of your posts supoorting 1btc = 1 btc and how bitcoin will have more value.

Will Bitcoin die in the summer? :D

Only if he does not use the appropriate UV protection factor, because it is a well-known fact that the sun is very dangerous during the summer ;)

Let's put the joking aside, everyone and everything will one day die or disappear, so maybe one summer in the distant future Bitcoin will cease to exist, but not in the sense that it will literally disappear - but that it will become completely insignificant to humans to the point that almost no one will use it. What was cutting-edge technology to humans 100 years ago is in museums today, and in the next 100 years people are likely to achieve incredible technological advances that will make today's technologies completely irrelevant.

bitcoin will die for those who are afraid to take risks and for those who are strong and dare to take risks of course bitcoin never dies, it becomes a great opportunity to invest in the long term.
Why do you have to assume that it's dead, I see it's just a cycle or in other words, just a correction to the market price, so there's a balance.

It's not the first time we have witnessed dips and even not the first time we have seen such post by panic seller like you.We have seen some worse phases also but btc have surpassed every time.In 2018 prices went from $20k to $3220 which was 83.6% down and in Nov 2016 we witnessed 87% crash from $1163 to $152.You have not seen that otherwise you would have freaked out even more.Have a look at this chart:

Bitcoin is not dead but just your faith in bitcoin is dead.

If you search this forum you will find hundreds and thousands of topics that says that BTCitcoin would die after every correction and during the initial market boom and whenever the price rises everyone would have that feeling that we might see a huge drop and whether the government could intervene and impose restrictions before the mass adoption and if we could surpass all that and we could reach here there is no way anyone with common sense would think that the market would die  :P.

Its not summer in the southern hemisphere, quit your small world thinking and you will quit tricking yourself into false conclusions based off near term moves.   Somehow BTC manages to be a large inertia moving asset, despite the fast moves in just these last months it really relies on long term factors resolving towards its gains.
The summer really doesnt matter that much, bigger factors are in play and Im more interested to read about those then the price and endless speculation.  Spectulators arent really what drive BTC, if they lose for the rest of the year then so be it and the damage is theirs to take same as the profits previous.

This is a common misconception during rough times in the market like this: bitcoin is dying and will never recover.

There have been a lot of similar scenarios wherein bitcoin is expected to drop to 0 and never recover from it again, although people who say this often forget that bitcoin's infrastructure is not only built upon traders' pockets, but also miners who have a huge stake on this whole thing. People will not let this die as it is an excellent part-time gig that they can fall back to when all other assets are performing so bad.

Common words or sentiments do came from people who are just new into this market but once they do get some experience on how this market works
then they would basically know up things on their own and change up those sentiments.

@OP we arent really seeing the worst because if you do able to experience that 2018 crash then you would definitely say that this market is over.

Lots of events or situations where bitcoins price could swing up with those big ranges and its part of its behavior because everything will vary on demand and interest or adoption. If you do see swings up like this then better get used to it because it wont really be interesting if price had been static
since from the start.

Why would it? I mean if your only justification is the fact that bitcoin dropped during the last 2-3 weeks, I am sorry but you have no idea about crypto at all, and maybe you should not invest just for now, learn more about it and when you know more about it then you can trade later on, or invest.

Crypto is something that can go any direction at any moment and there is no reason that helps form the past, I mean it can either go to 100k during this summer or it can go to 10k this summer, both is equally possible. At the end of the day it will not "die", there is no dying in crypto, it may go down but in the end it will recover and do a lot better in the long run, that is what I believe will happen, even if it falls that is, it may not even fall. So do not be worried, there is no death for bitcoin, will never happen while we are alive, it will just be going higher and higher over long period of time.

Die?

https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/

Bitcoin has been said dead for 416 times.

You're only looking at the peak price of bitcoin and the current price. Zoom out if you have to take a look and think if the word "die" is suitable from what you're saying.

You have never seen the price crash before? You must be new here. Look at the charts and try to learn something from it :) . Most of the people were already expecting the price to fall after the huge bull run. It is very normal. Compare the current price with the last ATH few years back. You will see that bitcoin is actually up in price. Why do you people keep on thinking that crypto currencies will dies when the price falls? Lol, do you say the same when the price of stock or gold drops?

Well, if bitcoin dies in the summer you can be sure it will ressurect after some time. That is how bitcoin works. FUDs are spread just until the weak hands put all their coins for sale, so the whales speculators buy the dip and a new bull run starts again right after. You have to choose what kind of investor you want to be: the holder or the weak hands.
I have never seen a holder regretting about their choices. On the flip side, I can't say the same about panic sellers. Be wise, pick the right strategy when investing in bitcoin.

Die term is like you want Bitcoin to vanish or end? The right term you are looking is fall/drop/dump and then a bear season follows.

Anyway, I don't know if OP knows the price of Bitcoin last year but this price today compared to the price last year is different. It's from around $15k last year then suddenly grow for almost 5 months just to reach the $64k new ATH then a correction hits down to $30k+ today.

The answer to your question is nobody knows hence we can't see Bitcoin would actually drop and start a bear season in the summer but speculation said that if it drops to below $30k then a possibility of a bear season will occur.

It is far more likely you will die this summer .

you should ask will btc drop more or will btc go level or will btc go up.

It can only die if the world ends this summer.

Die means dead it means btc would  zero out to no value with no one owning or mining it.

Many people need to die to stop it completely.

Next time ask a correct question.

Pretty sad how people here are surprised that not everything goes up in a straight line. I think most of these new people come from trading stocks which has a mentality "stonks only go up" and its been the case for most of last year.

Same with people who invested in Doge. They were surprised that it topped at $0.75 during the SNL show and lost 2/3rds of its value at one point and people are surprised that when they try and sell Doge on Robinhood, they are going to get back less money then they invested. They think something must be wrong with their phone instead of realising the truth about how risky investing can be and if it was this easy to make money then nobody would be working, everybody would be staying at home to trade.

When bitcoin soars, many people profit from the bubble, when the price falls, many people fall victim to panic selling.
if we are part of that profit, why are we the sponsors to drop bitcoin by spreading negative and uncertain issues.

It's not right to call it a bubble because it should've burst a long time or it could've burst when the prices were said to be unsustainable. The people that are susceptible to panic selling are greedy and some are cutting losses and I think it's natural because people have to make money so what do you do if your source of income is slowly cut in half? You take it out before it's too late.

Yes, bitcoin is dropping too deep this time, but that does not mean bitcoin will die because we do not know what will happen with bitcoin and we still have a chance to see bitcoin prices start the rally.
Even if bitcoin dies soon, if we can still see a chance to make a profit, we should use that for our benefit so when bitcoin really dies, we already benefit ourselves.
But I do not think that bitcoin will die because bitcoin still has a long journey and it will work beside us for a long time.
Instead of thinking that bitcoin will die, we need to try to make a profit before the chance ends, so we do not regret it in the future.

But for sure it never going to happen, in fact, it was been proven so many times, we even suffer huge dip before but look, Bitcoin still exists today and that is enough to say that Bitcoin could still survive no matter how many dips and market corrections will come.

You know what? I'm thinking that there is no bear season to come. The market will remain bullish during this summer and until the end of this year or even next year.

It is not that I think BTC will not drop under 30k it could.

but I am certain that it won't die.  more likely that he dies instead.

Certain titles just generate bad google mojo. It is what the op did here.

Too many people panic when the price of Bitcoin continues to fall, even though Bitcoin price declines are a common thing. So actually there is
nothing to worry about, we should take advantage of this opportunity now to buy more Bitcoin. As long as there are Bitcoin transactions,
I firmly believe Bitcoin will not die. So stop thinking negatively about Bitcoin. Even I'm one of those people who believe Bitcoin is still possible
to reach the price of $100k this year, so I have no doubts about the future of Bitcoin.

I think bitcoin will never die because if its happen it should be dead then when it reaches below $20k. Its only normal for a cryptocurrency to goes low and have a dip in value but eventually it will recover again. We know the road that bitcoin have gone so far its value goes high so very high that only millionares can only afford to buy a single bitcoin.

First, invent something that could kill it. Then, I might believe in the possibility of it dying.
Right, you're a newbie and that's the first thing you will say because you don't know the history of Bitcoin.

There's a beginners section and you might want to start there.
If you are having a hard time finding it then I'll help. Here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0
If that's too much work for you then just google bitcoin or use coinmarketcap and see if Bitcoin dies whenever the price plummet.

go check prices in early 2019 mate, maybe you'll see more potential than thinking that bitcoin will die. what I'm thinking right now is just how to collect it so I don't be late when the price goes up. however, many people think that way when they see the price of bitcoin go down. however, when they see the price of bitcoin go up, they will say that they regret not buying it when they thought that bitcoin would die.

Good thing I don't think much. That way I'd actually remember that Bitcoin has experienced worse dumps than this and has continuously outlived it. Even without considering that, just the identity of Bitcoin is more than enough for me to actually trust it. Man if everything died due to prices dropping, then ngl, a lot of things would've already ended up gone. It's the market being the market, ups and downs, highs and lows, it's literally the common sense of the market, don't really see why people still can't get that.

Do you think it will die by just asking this question that was asked a hundred times in the past you want a reason to dump your coin, it could if people continue to create FUD on Bitcoin, is it just a year ago when Bitcoin crash at $5000 level but look what happen and where it is now, people just need to go and look back and check the past worst scenario

That is right. We already had seen that bitcoin reached $3k before, and many people said that bitcoin would die soon. But then, we saw the price increase step by step and finally reach the new ATH that we do not expect before. Besides that, we know bitcoin is above $30k, and even the price goes down below $30k, bitcoin price will have a chance to increase, and I am sure that will make a new ATH and the price can break $64k. It is about how people believe in bitcoin and still holds bitcoin, and if they are tired of holding bitcoin, they can sell it right now. But they will regret it later when the bitcoin price starts to increase and break the high price.

It is about how people believe in bitcoin and still holds bitcoin, and if they are tired of holding bitcoin, they can sell it right now. But they will regret it later when the bitcoin price starts to increase and break the high price.
It will be basically the same, people keep calling bitcoin dead almost all the time and that is like the norm in the crypto world, there are some people for some reason (different reasons) who keep calling bitcoin dead or dying. These could be any type of person, it could be people who just hate crypto from the first time they heard, people who invested and lost, people who didn't invested and envy, people who invested and made money and just do not want others to make the same, people who work for banks and such, basically there are tons of type of people who would be willing to do this.

Long story short we are talking about something that would be just not valid and would be not something we would be willing to listen as crypto people, I personally do not believe that the same could happen here where bitcoin "dies", it will surely not die.

Those people who say that bitcoin will die soon are people who know about bitcoin better than other people. They want to make people panic and sell their bitcoin, so those people can buy bitcoin at the lowest price because once people panic and selling fast the bitcoin, that will make their jump down to the lowest price. Those people are waiting for that moment and they still use many things to make people panic.

But I guess this moment is different than a few years ago which people do not just follow whatever other people say and they tend to search for the other info to make sure about what is happening with crypto. We need to do like that and not eat that word without search for the additional info so we can get in their trap and sell our bitcoin without making a profit.

Recently, the price of bitcoin has dropped by almost 1/3.  The beginning of May is 58 thousand, now it is already 38 thousand. The chart is steadily falling down.  Will Bitcoin die in the summer? :D
I've always hear a statement that says bitcoin will die but look at what happened, bitcoin almost reach 60k$ above, if we will decide depending on what we hear maybe we will not get a big amount of profit in crypto. I think we need to decide depending on what we believe and trust, we don't need to worry about negative feed back or bad speculation or prediction, believe me no one can predict the exact date of the huge falling of the bitcoin price. Who knows it will rise again?

I think it will not die, but maybe it will drop we all witness a massive drop of the bitcoin price, dropping is normal but dying or become zero in value is imposible.  We all witness how bitcoin reach its ATH this year. So dying is really far from reality maybe it will be back to its price in 2018 but it will never fall into zero value.

well, the words dead or dying seems like an exaggeration. at this time, I feel that the price of bitcoin is indeed in a bear market, but it is possible that the price will return to normal and rise higher at the end of this month, or in the next month well, besides, the current price is still higher than the price in the previous year.

If we start adding these obituary threads on a website then I feel we might create a new forum for obituaries..::)

It is of no use to tell these people about Bitcoin, they don't come out of their holes or just pretend to be inside one.
Obituary threads area pretty good idea but I don't think that it will be of good taste to do that. The reason that people don't get out of their holes is because they became too comfortable in it that they don't like the idea of going out of it to hear the truth.

All we need to do is go back to the previous years where Bitcoin did ATH and then look at the following year or two and see the same questions people are asking now. Will it die,,, will it stagnate,,, it is all no longer valid to ask as Bitcoin is too big to die. Will it turn into something else? Will it stabilize? Maybe.

I never seemed to think that there would be any end, the value of bitcoin is limitless.  Although the market and the short-selling guys are similar to 2017, the market here is different, their insensitivity will be at the expense of dumping.  Holding the $31k bottom, I believe what they're doing will see big consequences.  The fight to 100k is still on the way, no hesitation, buy and hold.

That is because there are tons of new people each time. Remember bitcoin is nowhere near the fiat levels yet, people use dollars OUTSIDE OF USA, more than they use bitcoin, think about the difference, I am not talking about how much dollar is used because that would be normal, it is a national currency of a nation that is probably the biggest economy or maybe second now, but we are talking about it being used more outside of its nation than how many people use bitcoin.

In that case that means there are newer people every single day, when there is a huge rush and the price goes up like crazy, some people make a good amount of money without any knowledge at all, why would they, they go "lol doge uwu" and make a thousand dollars in a day, so they never learn anything and when things start to go down, they go crazy over what may happen, and we get these topics.

Firstly bitcoin won't die at any point. The traders in bitcoin was increased twice or thrice every year. These mean, the government control on people was huge deviated. The traders keep investing their money and make the trading live.Without the liquidity, the trading will not successful one till now.

As far as i know this same kind of question were answered by bitcoin in a repeat process, this is my third to fourth time I have read the thread questioning the possibility that bitcoin may die, if this huge price dropped is the time to say that bitcoin is over and so on. Personally I used to refused to make myself believe that a possibility that bitcoin may be over because for me the crypto market wouldn't be a crypto market without the existence of bitcoin. So for me it's a NO that bitcoin may die this summer or so.

Popularity increases, but the massive volume is getting into the hands of limited person. That popularity doesn't help the layman. Now it has been turning to be rich man's asset, because they keep on manipulating the market and benefit out of it. The common man who tries to make few pennies were made to suffer. I don't say it is the mistake of the corporate/common man. There needs to be something specific in terms of accumulation and People should have an understanding not to fall for FUD.

Yeah, I don't know what OP is talking about, or he just dreaming thinking of the dead and he just saw Bitcoin beside him.

Anyway, he absolutely doesn't know about Bitcoin and that is how he responded to the current situation. Some people (and even before) had to think negatively once seeing the market is declining.

Seems that he is very new in this market. I don't know what the OP is expecting here. But 30k+ level has only been attained this year. And we are somewhat going up a lil bit. Though the 40k resistance is still here. I guess, a lot of newcomers are thinking that bitcoin is about to go down just because their expectation has not been met. And also, how many times have been these people are speculating that bitcoin will be dead and still, we are here after more than a decade of existence?

Perhaps what the OP meant is that bitcoin will literally go to zero, so it's obvious for us, specially those who have been in this market for many years, this is not going to happen. I guess that his is own opinion, or maybe it was just for the semantics calling bitcoin will die in the summer.

Bitcoin has proven it's resiliency, it won't simply die just because China will ban crypto mining, or Elon Musk saying negative things about it. Bitcoin will live as long as there are people like you and me supporting it in the future.

Bitcoin doesn't die, for years and until now it is still steadfast and has known its value to billions of people and felt its strength, if its price drops to 30K, this doesn't mean that it died, but rather it means that it is the time to buy and the time to fill the bags until its price rises again to break a new trend.

Do you know how many times bitcoin has been declared dead? While there is a site that keeps track of that it only counts articles or declarations by important people so we do not really know that number but I think it is easily above tens of millions of times and guess what? Bitcoin is still here, to think that bitcoin is going to die over something as small as a price decrease really shows that you have no experience in this market and how it moves.

The dump, the crash, market correction...what else?
These are not things to consider and think that Bitcoin will dump. Think that from $58k down to $38K, we are still from $0. If you can remember what happens before where Bitcoin drops from $20k to $4k? And yet, we are still alive and even it grows more.

You will say it die over the summer? Nothing can tell the future of Bitcoin, it was unpredictable.
It dies only when we all die.

Yes it will die. It will go down to zero. You better sell all your BTCs right now and give them to the whales and Elon Musk. You will be safe with FIAT. Sell everything now, just do it.
I know what you mean.
There is nothing we can do for these weak hands but to encourage them to sell so stop them thinking about Bitcoin and just to leave after it sold.

The market tends to give many surprises, in an article that he had read before he said that an analyst affirms that what is happening in the market is a bearish trap, that the price level at $ 41k made it touch on purpose, however this article shows a totally different opinion:

https://i.imgur.com/u2WMBkg.png
Quote
A clear upside break above the triangle resistance could spark bullish moves. The next resistance is near the $41,200 level. A close above $41,200 level is likely to stage a move towards the $43,500 level.

Source: https://www.newsbtc.com/analysis/btc/bitcoin-consolidates-rally-42k/ (https://www.newsbtc.com/analysis/btc/bitcoin-consolidates-rally-42k/)

I´m much more inclined to believe in this analysis that it is due more to market speculation, but not to assumptions that can be full of uncertainties, however any scenario should be expected.

Well, the "die" word is wrong there that is true. However I think it is more about "will bitcoin go down more during summer?" type of situation if you ask me. We did move from 20k to 4k and then went to 64k, that is something over course of few years but it did happened and if you are smart enough you would have made a ton of profit, I wasn't smart enough for that but I did made a near 9x level profit during that period as well.

But that doesn't change the fact that bitcoin dropped a lot for the past 1.5 months and the question is basically do you think that will continue? Only newbie may get such question and those long term holders will never rise any of such things.

Yeah, I personally think there could be a bit more drop, I know that it will go up in 2022 once again, by the looks of it 2021 is not the year we imagined it will be, the first half was good but second half could be bad, but that means after each bad there is a good and after each good there is a bad, we are living the bad now so that means 2022 should be a good year, kind of like 2019 where it doubled from 3.5k to 7k and even though it wasn't care because it saw 14k in the middle, I feel like similar thing could happen in 2022, but for now summer doesn't seem too good.

The price drop during the summer is understandable, bitcoin has been in the longest bull run in market history.  What happens in Q1 with over 100% growth.  If you think Q3 we will SHORT, Place it with your BtC available :) 2 weeks left to end Q2, let's see what's up, price is 35% off now.  The best will come next.

That's a really bad word to put in question regarding bitcoin, it's like stock market, it can go down but it won't die, we might see it again at it's worst but we know that it will only go up in the long-term. Also, summer is kind of a random season to pick for the prices to go down like a disaster.

I DO NOT think that in summer or winter, maybe for now the price of BTC can consolidate in the ranges of $ 40k to $ 50k, not bad, taking into account that investors are waiting for the best moment to apply their bullish force, in this article talk about a possible pricing scheme:

https://i.imgur.com/aIIdonm.png

According to Rekt Capital said:

Quote
“It is really important that the 21 WEMA doesn’t turn into resistance upon a BTC recovery towards the low $40,000s (i.e. the price level where the 21 WEMA now resides).”
Source: https://ambcrypto.com/analyst-this-price-range-could-be-bitcoins-new-home-for-the-next-few-weeks/ (https://ambcrypto.com/analyst-this-price-range-could-be-bitcoins-new-home-for-the-next-few-weeks/)

This is a super good price range for many to invest in, knowing that the last ATH was around $ 64k, the price of BTC will be much higher when it recovers.

Many factors contribute to bitcoin's decline, including people's boredom and the difficulty of making profits in buying and selling. There are also many large countries that prohibit transacting in any way using bitcoin, causing potential investors' fears to change and their direction to make transactions with bitcoin or any token.

the current situation is normal, bitcoin dropping from its all time high is just a correction, bitcoin will not die, look at bitcoin history from 2014 until now the chart is always the same, maybe we are currently seeing bitcoin crash badly and it seems like it will not come back back to the all time high but we don't know what will happen in the next 4 years when the halving arrives, study the chart first before asking.
