Its been so many years since I learned of bitcoin talk.I was amaze of this kind of currency.satoshi is so bright and smart person.even though we never know him personally and where he is.the bitcoin that he made is so so amazing.thats why until now I am thinking the great things happen in our life to have bitcoin.and now bitcoin was known all over the world.and they using bitcoin already as fiat.thats why I do believe that bitcoin will never be gone anymore.bitcoin will be part of our life forever.
How about you? Do we have the same idea of bitcoin?

The first time, I heard and use Bitcoin, I already know this invention is extremely unique and new. It is a digital currency that really solves the current problem we have now on traditional finance. So by that, I am positive with Bitcoin that it will stay here forever. Bitcoin got problems to solve so why it will be gone?

I agree to it Bitcoin would always be here with us as long as we would continue to support it.
And for me the support for Bitcoin would never end since it gave people their financial freedom so yes it would never be gone.

Nothing in this world is permanent, and that's going to include Bitcoin. I'm sure it's going to take more than a dozen lifetimes for something so great to be invented that could potentially replace Bitcoin though.

Speculating the events in the future is always vague. Sure that the decentralization is something that we never expected after the growth of the internet, however it does not guarantee that it will never be gone. There are still a lot of factors that we need to consider to say that it will survive.

It could be in terms of mass adoption. As long as the majority of people believe that bitcoin has a real use case and value, I don't think that bitcoin will die instantly. It could also be the continuous technical development to scale bitcoin on an efficient way etc..

The real question here is, what is something that would harm bitcoin in the process and how will it be able to cope with those uncertainties?

in as much as currencies of every nation increases in value as well as that of other coins like Bitcoin does, then there will also be a point in time other coins that can also overtake Bitcoin will still come up, so nothing is permanent.

I'm pretty sure that at some point of history Bitcoin will stop to exist. Either practically, meaning it will be preserved as a collectible/historical item, or literally no computer in the world will run Bitcoin software and mine new blocks. But this will not happen anytime soon, probably not in our lifetime. Maybe it will happen in a few centuries, maybe even thousands of years. Just like Bitcoin changed the way money is organized, something radically new might come up.

As what we consider these times, bitcoin is here to stay.

There could be some more advanced technologies that can stop it but we haven't seen it yet and that's why it's still here to stay. And no matter what people say about bitcoin negatively.

Yes it's true. Bitcoin and overall Cryptocurrencies market have to stay. The amount of money that has been pumped into the market it's really enormous. Also the utility it has provided to the society, also the utility that altcoins have provided it has really become a in separable part of our society. Also it has become am inseparable part of lives of bitcoiners so it is obviously going to stay forever.

basically as long as there are still many coins that support this coin, it will always be strong even though many of these bitcoins will still rise again and again.
but nothing is impossible here maybe for now it will never disappear at least until the next few years but I don't know what will happen after so long has passed because here nothing is impossible. and nothing can be strong forever

Bitcoin has built its foundation firmly over the years and regardless of the doubts and the criticisms it recieved, it was able to survive and become successful up until now. There is a very low probability that bitcoin will cease to exist considering all of its achievements and assurance it gave to people. If bitcoin successfully helps El Salvador with their economy, it will surely make a huge impact on crypto that will start the revolution of the new monetary system in the world. Cherish bitcoin as much as you can, even though it is much more likely to survive till the future, you should make the most of it right now while the price is still low.

Bitcoin will definitely stay for a long time. Although, i can't assure if it will stay forever.
Bitcoin keep gaining popularity Everyday, majority are getting involve in Bitcoin and getting to know how it operates. I don't think it will just vanish, it will basically stay for some time.

The adoption will not be quick, it will take time, at least we have an example such as the country of the Republic of El Salvador. I have taken a look at the account of President Nayib Bukele, he and the account of the Presidential house of El Salvador is teaching people what the bitcoin law is. Well, the same as here. Imagine, as of now there are some countries legalizing bitcoin and using it, does it mean people will continue using this as an alternative currency. Bitcoin will not be gone forever, the same as fiat bitcoin will do the same. If the payment system will be gone, perhaps there is a chance Bitcoin will be gone too. I come and invest in Bitcoin with full of doubt at first but when I fully understand it, that gonna be change and those negative thoughts that I've heard, it is simply just to ignore them.

Technically, the last bitcoin should be mine in 2140, so we won't see it in our lifetime. So we will never know if bitcoin will continue to exists by that time or just simply some 'token' that we can collect. So I guess the best thing to do is really take advantage of it. The OP says great things happen in his/her life and so as the others. So just continue what we are doing, continue to accumulate BTC, set our goals and hope that the price will continue to exists in the next 10-20 years.

Bitcoin has hypnotized many people and it is impossible for people to leave Bitcoin. banks and governments are trying to destroy Bitcoin but so far they have only done in vain. they should learn from El Salvador who officially made Bitcoin a legal tender.

You are too early claiming 'people use Bitcoin as fiats'.
I think not each people in the world already know well Bitcoin and can use it as fiats. It should take more time to equalize the Bitcoin use with fiats.

About the possibility of Bitcoin surviving forever, I think we all know nothing lasts forever. But I am sure that Bitcoin still has much time to survive in the future. As long as the adoption continues, it is good news about the existence of Bitcoin. The perfect example is what El Salvador did with Bitcoin. It surely makes Bitcoin can have a big chance to survive a long time.

if dozens of rich are buying bitcoin to make Hodl and have big profits in a few years then Is because they have already seen the great potential of bitcoins, unfortunately there is still the big problem of high rates that if it is not solved it will not be possible to see bitcoin being used as currency, making hodl and serving only as something to trade on exchanges is a very limited use that over the years can make bitcoin not used much around the world.

I guess as long as computer and internet are existing the bitcoin will remain. So I think computer and internet are forever be.so for me bitcoin will be fotever be...just my opinion

Of course, Bitcoin will be forever, as long as know how to protect it, you can even transfer it to your kids as an inheritance. What's holding Bitcoin spot though is that it is the prime mover, so it can stay at the top for many years until someone replaces it. That's what human history tells us, you can remain on top, but we don't know what the future will bring. Maybe some new crypto suddenly emerges, then a total shift from investors.

Bitcoin has a very strong community, in fact I think bitcoin can be the most profitable and fastest growing business in the future, and bitcoin is also the gateway to new and more advanced financial technologies, I am very happy to know bitcoin, here I learned a lot, produced, also have many friends.

I mean technically, of course. But when were talking about a dominant currency/SoV, then it's just very unrealistic to think that Bitcoin will be the dominant choice in humanity's lifetime.

It indeed has a strong community but that is if you look in the right places but there is a part of the community that is toxic too comprised of scammers and generally toxic people. I am happy about the community but we have to take action against this people because we know how the public views the community, if there is something bad in that community, they will see it much more than the good one.

I'm sure now many people believe in bitcoin and there are even countries that have legalized bitcoin. To be honest, I can't say for certain that Bitcoin will never be destroyed. Because nothing is certain in this market. Yeah, Bitcoin adoption is going on very quickly. And more people are starting to trust Bitcoin. But we never know whether another coin will dethrone Bitcoin someday.

Since the development of Bitcoin and it interface, a lot of persons have been attacking it ignorantly for it success and innovation establising a vast network for other coins to be successful developed. Bitcoin be is here to stay and nothing anyone can do about that. I hear you and I support that too but we know that the real Bitcoin supporters are few compared to all that are in Bitcoin and most in Bitcoin right now are for the profits even though we can still argue that all in Bitcoin are for the profits and this is made possible by Bitcoins constant volatility but will this still be the case when all the Bitcoin available have been mined?
Will it's price still be this volatile for profits making or will it just be as ordinary as the Fiat currency for basic transactions?

Bitcoin mining activities will continue till 2140 so it's still 19 years ahead and btc will be in circulation till then so it is here to stay in the market.Next with btc being adopted as legal currency globally and becoming mainstream it will replace other centralised modes of payment soon along with fiat and when it it will be used by them then it is not going to vanish.But say if we all are just making btc as investment source then it would be turned Into decentralised assest which can be replaced by other assets.So we can't say it will stay here forever as we don't know what will happen next so everything is uncertain but still hoping that this literally cool invention by Sathoshi has definitely some future ahead.

For the time being, you can say that.  But rest assured in this world nothing will be permanent, including Bitcoin.  I'm sure it would take more than a dozen lifetimes for something so great to be discovered that could potentially replace Bitcoin.  And don't be surprised if in the future there will be a coin that can beat the bitcoin record.

Maybe we can or you can still say that because of what you've experienced when having a Bitcoin that gave you a good profit during bull run. But remember that there is no permanent in this world and there will be a right time for everything to vanish or change it's just a matter of time.

Use Bitcoin as much as you want, buy or sell whatever you do with it since that's what really the purpose of having Bitcoin, to have your own bank that you can use or spend everyday. Bitcoin is still young. 12 years is the age of a young kid. Imagine BTC at 20, 30 or 40 years.

BTC reaching $1M is a certainty for me, I don't know the exact time it will take to get there but it will happen.

As for $1xx,xxx it will happen this year or next year the latest. Still a very small value if you ask me considering the potential.

We still do not certainly know if Bitcoin will still be right here after decades from now. Although we are wanting it to stay forever, we cannot control the flow of events that might have a big effect on it for it to stay or begone for good. The important thing is what we currently have right now that we must cherish and nurture to the extent of what we can do. Do not focus too much on the future although we still have to get ourselves prepared for it.

It will not disappear. For some people, Bitcoin is speculation; for some people, Bitcoin is an investment opportunity; for some people, Bitcoin is a great social experiment; for some people, Bitcoin is faith.

Crypto currency market is a growing and fast profit gaining platform where we can make money using investment. Bitcoin is one of best coin in the market so it has a good strength in the market. Lots of countries are now accepting bitcoin also there are many e-currency and payment gateway accept bitcoin also it has used blockchain technology which is decentralized in manar. For that reason i think it will never be gone.

It's really impossible for bitcoin to be gone just like a bubble because as far what I am seeing is that it is almost 11 years since the bitcoin was made or created and though the people don't know who is the real founder of bitcoin yet it is still in the top of the cryptocurrency and the market cap. i agree with this because technology is our future such as the internet and it is also possible to change to fiat currency because of the advantages that is being given by bitcoin such as cashless transactions. Yeah, I also believe the same thing that Bitcoin will not be gone . I'm only curious what will happen when we are 2099yr+ and miners are making significantly lower amounts in Bitcoin compared to now.
Will, they still continue to support the network of bitcoin?, Will there be another fork of bitcoin (i doubt it will change much), Will the price of bitcoin will be enough to pay for the miner's hardware and work.

Or will the network be dead by then some other Coin has taken over the market?

I can't comment for sure what's going to happen in the future regards to bitcoin but since it's the first crypto currency so there's a good chance it will survive but can't guarantee it.

I'm quite entertained seeing people have a huge trust in Bitcoin that it will stay long in the market. We are hoping for that, I know. But it all becomes impossible if we keep complaining about why we lose, why we got scam, why, and why. If we are giving full support to crypto (not only in Bitcoin) the more assurance that Bitcoin will remain as what it has today.

You are a little wrong over here. You meant use it as a regular currency to make day to day transaction when you said "use as fiat", right? Unfortunately, people can't yet use bitcoin as "fiat" currency. There are few issues that is stopping us from using it as a currency for making daily transaction. Look at the fees and the waiting time for one confirmation when the network is under heavy load. Do you want to pay $20 fee for buying a cup of coffee or do you want to wait for an 2 or 3 hours? I don't think you would want any. But yeah, people will eventually find solutions. So bitcoin is here to stay.

I don't even think that it will disappear. There might be a possibility that it will be replaced by some other cryptocurrency that will dominate the markets. Currency failure have happened before and it can still happen with bitcoin. But if you think that bitcoin is to replace fiat, then I kind of disagree with you. In my opinion, the main purpose of bitcoin being created is as a payment alternative after the world has fiat and it is not to replace fiat. Bitcoin is decentralized which does not allow governments to make it centralized and has become a major obstacle to adoption as a legal currency or tender. These two currencies have different system where bitcoin cant be controlled and fiat can be controlled. Bitcoin itself is also known to be subject to regulation where you are because you will not be able to force your will to use bitcoin as a mean of payment if it violate the laws of your country.

We live in a world where technological progress is so quick and amazing that sometimes it's hard to grasp all the new things and technologies that are being invented, in the blink of an eye the things some consider "new" others already think of "old".

I personally think bitcoin has the chance to decrease in popularity due to its unwillingness to be green. A lot of the world is realizing right now that protecting the environment is paramount and tend to take the easy route of blaming high energy use products, such as bitcoin. I personally don't see how this is as big of a problem with bitcoin as it is with how we have chosen to make energy as a society, and arguing against the usage of bitcoin is futile as it would be nearly impossible for many large democracies to ban it outright at this point. I guess there is no way to get rid bitcoin out on the picture now because people now already see the worth of bitcoin. I actually don't have the same idea. I think none of the cryptocurrencies in the market will last forever. Maybe it will take even 50 years or more for Bitcoin to start losing its popularity and to be gone. But it will happen one day I think. Here´s a practical example that i´m currently having in my personal life, i have some friends from Tunisia that their family send them money to Spain and they´ll start using bitcoin because it is difficult for them to withdrawl money from their country, it needs many days, but using bitcoin they can actually receive it almost on the same day, they basically buy it from Tunisia with Tunisian Dinar and then they sell it here (in Spain) in euros, and no one has to find out, its their personal lives.

I hope so but we also have to be vigilant if there is a possibility that it can happen. It's true that bitcoin is the best coin crypto and I think it's irreplaceable. Although many altcoins have good prospects, bitcoin is still the prima donna of crypto and many people want it. For now I don't think that bitcoin will disappear as the crypto world continues to evolve. I think if bitcoin disappears the crypto world will also lose interest because we know that btc is a dream coin. Data, in contrast to biological cells (for now), can be permanent. Most of us have a lot of years to go. We all get to enjoy to find out where cryptocurrencies will be in 40 or 50 years from now and what they will look like / how they will be operated. It is hard to conceive of something that could replace the infrastructure we work with today (Internet + distributed ledgers), but who knows what is more to come. I hope to be around for many years as I am excited to find out.

Bitcoins will never technically disappear because they are all recorded in the decentralized ledger. You'll still be able to access them for the next 500 years in explorer. But that doesn't mean bitcoin can't be erased from human memory. If something more innovative (other than blockchain technology) is discovered, it is possible that bitcoin will begin to be slowly forgotten.

it could last for 25 years or more but that does not mean that it would still hold or increase in it's value, it could go down and people would lose interest in it, which can cause for it to be less popular and of course the value of it will go down as well, 25 years is a little too much, a lot can change in that period of time, no one can predict what's gonna happen with bitcoin and crypto after 25yrs, it could go very good for crypto or the complete opposite.

If someone asked be whether Bitcoin is going to exist forever I would say no. Chances are very high I am going to be right. Nothing exists forever. What I do think though is that Bitcoin could be around for an extremely long time as it is a data based digital currency running on top of DLT, and the question is what could replace DLT? But even then when DLT should get replaced by something, Bitcoin might still be the currency running on top of whatever other technology might once take the lead and prevail.

Same opinion here. My perspective isn't just that Bitcoin is a great innovation that has brought solutions to the centralized era, but also, Bitcoin has been known too well to be gone. Everyday new people keep hearing about it. Those who heard can't remove it from their head. It would be really assertive to say that Bitcoin would never be gone. Because none of the cryptocurrencies in the market guarantees so, even Bitcoin yeah.
