You can simply get his/her Bnet account with the game registered on it, then you log onto the account and go into SC2 where you should find a download link to download the client. I was too excited to have been able to run it on Linux, so I'm eager to test the network play. It ran without any configuration whatsoever. So far though... The goal is to try sc2btc. ;)
