One-stop Storage Solution for NFT with Flexible Metadata Engine

Issues with NFT Storage
NFT no doubt is the hottest topic in the current decentralized world but the current storage of NFT underlying resources cannot yet be solved on the chain itself. On one hand, the cost of storage on the mainstream blockchain is extremely high. On the other hand, existing decentralized storage solutions are mostly cold-storage and cannot provide metadata-relevant storage and query solutions, resulting in low usage experience.

What is CATA?
CATA provides a complete one-stop solution for Dapp data storage. CATA creatively extends the IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) protocol to provide decentralized storage while achieving flexible metadata management, and is also compatible with SQL queries, providing extremely user-friendly and developer-friendly data access.

CATA Interaction with FLOW
CATA has designed a set of interaction protocols for Flow's Cadence contract layer, enabling integration and full traceability of token transactions and data storage, providing a one-stop solution for NFT publishing, storage, management and distribution. It is fully compatible with Cadence's resource-oriented capabilities, allowing Cadence developers to easily connect NFT contracts to storage facilities.

Core Concept

The current decentralized network is still far from true production deployment, and the scenarios that can be truly implemented today are extremely limited. The main reason for this is the lack of infrastructure. Although throughput of public blockchain increased significantly the storage protocol itself is still at an early stage. Storage solutions in the traditional world often consider both storage and retrieval, but the current mainstream of decentralized storage (such as IPFS, Filecoin) is almost pure storage, which cannot meet the requirements of data retrieval and content delivery. And some bandwidth-based data distribution projects (such as Meson Network) are also difficult to meet flexible query requirements.
CATA project begins in 2015 with goal of developing a more powerful distributed storage protocol and providing more flexible and user-friendly features for the storage system to create a more complete infrastructure forthe decentralized world.
The underlying layer of CATA is a general decentralized file system that accounts for storage and retrieval capabilities. Above the file system layer, CATA provides a flexible metadata management engine. In the current phase, CATA will leverage NFT as the first use case and collaborate with Flow Blockchain to provide users with a one-stop NFT platform.

Distributed Storage and Retrieval: as a fundamental capability of decentralized storage, data should be persistently stored on the network and ensure permanent availability. In addition, the CATA protocol guarantees high storage performance, supports reading and writing large amounts of data, and achieves practical cost. Compared to cold storage, CATA puts more design energy on retrieval and supports content-based flexible queries (instead of just file download) to meet fine-grained data organization requirements (e.g., NFT classification retrieval).

Metadata Engine: on top of the underlying decentralized file system, CATA has developed an independent metadata layer, Minerva. Minerva combines the serverless query engine with the underlying storage protocol. The CATA node is not only a storage resource provider, but also a service provider for the query engine. It is responsible for storing and querying structured metadata as well as parsing and tasking query requests. Therefore, users can flexibly define and decentrally manage structured and fine-grained metadata. At the same time, Minerva provides support for SQL queries, supports indexing, sorting, searching, and other semantics to meet the needs of Dapp developers, and minimizes dependency on centralized storage solutions.

Full lifecycle solution for NFT storage: the current NFT scenario relies on blockchain networks (e.g., Flow or ETH) to build a marketplace, and metadata storage often relies on centralized storage solutions (e.g., AWS), or content is stored on a decentralized storage protocol (e.g., IPFS) and then linked to the on-chain marketplace through additional operations, which negatively impacts the NFT user experience. The CATA storage protocol extends from the circulation layer on the blockchain, the Minerva metadata layer, to the underlying system layer, covering the business logic of NFT data storage, the associations between the on-chain and Off-chain worlds, and the entire process of token circulation. It provides a one-stop NFT experience.

CATA Distribution
The total number of CATA tokens we plan to issue is 20,000,000 for network building and community governance. And the CATA tokens are required to be distributed to the world in the following manner.
1. Mining. A portion of the tokens will be distributed  as network incentives to workers who provide hardware resources to the CATA network.
2. Ecosystem Building. A portion of the tokens will be used for ecosystem building such as incentives for qualified contributors. Also, a portion of the tokens will be set aside for subscriptions by institutions and community participants.
3. Team&Foundation Reservation: A portion of the tokens will be used to build the technical team and cover the operational costs.
4. Signup Educational Program: The purpose of the program is to spread knowledge of decentralized storage around the world, and enable more users and Dapps to experience the new manner of decentralized storage service provided by CATA .Our goal is to reach as many people and decentralized projects as possible with our educational programs before running out of funds.
5. Bitcoin Program: A portion of the tokens will be set aside to be distributed to holders of Bitcoin and Flow to build early reputation in the existing decentralized community as well as in the mainstream NFT community.

Community Ambassador Recruitment
CATA is a community driven project and offers incentives for expanding the community.
Anyone who participates in CATA community development (construction and management) and meet corresponding standards will be awarded with privilege for token sale.
They need to establish a community for management and meet corresponding standards, Community ambassadors can get the amount of early-stage community financing and participate in the early-stage construction and development of CATA. At the same time they have to contribute to CATA, build a community and manage it. The screening system should be as strict as possible.

Filecoin is a file system. It is more like a cold storage facility, focusing on the storage function itself. CATA has not only built a decentralized file system protocol, but also a flexible metadata query engine on the upper layer that can support SQL. And we will continue to expand the upper layer storage facility to provide a more complete decentralized big data system.

In my view, DAPPs evolution with time may generate need for advance decentralized storage and by then we can only see how effective are such storage solutions. Those who are already in this niche will defiantly get the edge.

Actually,we are focusing on general decentralized storage solution.
NFT is the hottest topic currently and it has strong requirement of storage. That's why we plan to build the first version of CATA for NFT.

As per my understanding, this project is taking concept of Filecoin one step ahead i.e. it will easy to retrieve data from the storage since there is metadata layer available. What else do you offer apart from this feature?

Yes. By analogy, Filecoin is a file system, and we will act as a database, cache, cdn, etc. in addition to a file system.

NFT is perhaps one of very few concepts that have received good response from community.
I have a query regarding cata, can you give an analysis of how much cost effective is data storage on this blockchain and how much benefit it gives to user.?

NFT projects are at very early stages and NFT has the potential to reach 10x. So there is no reason not to invest here. Game development will find nft based storage ideal. Since its fast n easy to access data from nft blockchain  and not to forget its low price.

Flow Blockchain has gained success in very short time and addressing both Flow and nft storage in one single project is big deal. OP you have necessary team that can develop this project? Since its a big project, development requires trained manpower.

Blockchain is complex and right now there is no single file system available that can meet upper layer expectations. We need more of stuff that can handle databases, data warehouses, CDNs etc. If CATA is the solution designed for this then it will be a huge success.

Since NFT has strong storage and retrieval requirements, we plan to take NFT as our first target scenario, which will guide the first phase of development of CATA.
Of course there are more scenarios that will require indexing, and we will move on to the next iteration when the first phase of product is stable. General-purposed storage will also be one of our goals.

I think it will be great if you embed general-purpose storage also in CATA. Since this will allow more members to have stake in CATA, we dont know how long this summer of NFT will long. If CATA provides general storage also then it will continue to grow even if we have NFT winters.

You must also try to reach investors in person not just rely on crowd funding. This will give you a wide spectrum for attracting investors for this project. Due to too much scam in crypto industry, investors are scared of investing in new projects. But if you have a legitimate project then do approach them from different angles.

Im feeling doubt to accuse this as another money grabber or fast money for the developers.
This is not a money grabber like so many garbage projects that issued by the scammers in the market.
CATA was also working on the cloud storage for the NFT.

I thought that the team has been working on the crypto since a long time ago or have enough experience.

CATA dev, can you tell me where i can find more information about the social group of CATA. I can only find twitter and github but it's better to talk with the developers directy

Unfortunately it has become a norm to accuse a project as scam without any solid evidence. CATA is no doubt a superb project with a very strong use case. If there team can develop what they are projecting then it will be surely a moon shot.

This is a great initiative and every crypto project should spare some funds for such educational programs. New people joining the crypto world doesn't know wts the difference b/w decentralized (BTC) and centralized (XRP). Its very important to keep alive the original concept of crypto proposed by Satoshi back in 2008.

Though there are already a lot of free info from the net, still, this initiative is a very much appreciated.
This will also encourage their platform users to enrich themselves with knowledge that will give them more in-depth understanding of the topic.
Many people here even long timers don't have the full grasp of what can DAPPS do in advancing their experience in crypto industry.

This must be made mandatory for every new crypto project. The essence of crypto is decentralization, with new concepts ( meme/ deflationary / NFTs ) emerging all the time and new users joining in, if its not informed to new users the gradually people will think that anything listed on CMC is crypto.

NFTs are one of most discussed thing right now in crypto market. There are many successful NFT projects also but majority of them are in there initial stages. It will take sometime before we can say that how well they really performed.
Going through this thread really educated me about NFT, I really have no idea that NFTs are facing storage issues. Lets see how well CATA cater this problem.

Action speaks louder then the words. Lets see how much they spend on educating the community about the underlying technology.
Crypto is vast field and lots of new concepts have evolved over the decade. It necessary to understand crypto, blockchain, NFT etc since that will help the users in deciding whether the project is worth investing or its just something that cant be done practically.

As per there whitepaper, "CATA Network's mission is to provide a general purpose cloud storage infrastructure for Web 3.0. The plan is to build a more complete storage system, or rather, a decentralized Big Data system, to provide more flexible, scalable, and practical data management services for upper layer of decentralized applications."

Defiantly we have to wait for a while to see this in action. Those who can take risk, may invest right now.

The usual risk in this type of project is that we need to wait if they can truly realize their mission. Right now, we have no idea if they have the capability to implement those objectives or not. Most projects have promising start up until they are already in the implementation stage. Very few can attain success when it comes to implementation. So let's see how far they can achieve in this endeavor.

You are right, we need to wait and see what they come up with. But there is draw back in waiting, once they roll out with the product price of there token will be very high. In that case only early birds can get the huge profit. That's why I was saying those who want good profit may take risk at this moment.

Well that's something interesting. As blockchain student I am well aware that NFT based projects need huge data storage and quick retrieval of data is a big plus. But can you give comparison of how fast CATA retrieval is when compared with traditional blockchains?

The way NFT projects are moving forward they will need something for managing there storage and those who jump early in this category will get most of there share. Only thing we need is good solution that works for NFT projects.

This is what I extracted while going through there document section. CATA is basically designing protocols for FLOW blockchain, this is big thing as FLOW has already gathered a big market.

With more and more DAPPs rolling out, there is growing demand for Dapp data storage. I personally like the idea of extending current IPFS protocol by CATA to provide decentralized storage while achieving flexible metadata management. Just waiting to see this in action.

NFTs are no doubt the most discussed topics in crypto world these days. But we cant say with certainty that they will become fundamental part of the crypto currency. But you are right in saying that NFTs will defiantly need decentralized storage that is easy to access and customizable.

AFAIK, NFTs and FLOW are both a hit thing these days. The target of CATA is both NFT and FLOW i.e to provide a decentralized storage solution for FLOW blockchain. There is lot much to be done in CATA project and there is huge audience waiting to see it coming out.

With circulation layer above metadata layer and file storage layer provides great flexibility while retrieving data.  CATA is leveraging NFT as the first use case and collaborate with Flow Blockchain to provide users with a one-stop NFT platform.

Free info is available but you cant be sure whether its authentic or not. If some real project is educating the community about crypto and blockchain its beneficial that info given is authentic. This info will help the community in seperating the fake projects with the real one. In my opinion very project must allocate some funds for such activities.

Whenever any coin in crypto goes up it goes way up. If you wanna take chance in any coin then better invest in it before its officially launched on exchanges. CATA seems very solid project to me and I am keeping a close eye on it, specially on its compliance with FLOW blockchains.

The details of token sale even not exist on their whitepaper, or this is because there's no token sale for the project.
But when I judge by op post, about token distribution I see portion token for qualified contributors, I quite believe the meaning is should be going to who participated on sale.

AFAIK they are building a general purpose cloud storage infrastructure for Web 3.0 that is different from current decentralized
storage solutions (e.g. Filecoin, Arweave, etc.).
Its not just a specific storage module (e.g. file system or database). Rather they are building a more complete storage system, or rather, a decentralized Big Data system, to provide more flexible, scalable, and practical data management services for upper layer of decentralized applications.

CATA is aiming to build a new complete infrastructure for decentralized data storage. If we talk about Decentralized apps they have more complex data storage requirements. Not a single file system can meet all of upper layer applications.  The current decentralized ecosystem desperately needs more tools (e.g., databases, data warehouses, CDNs...), which is  exactly the role that CATA is expected to play.

Thats a good news. We need to learn more such news to get familiar with whats going on.
Minerva is back bone on CATA. It takes benefit of flexibility of Drillís query engine and the scalability facto of IPFS's filesystem which is decentralized. Every user of Minerva has a local node, and the Minerva nodes form a peer-to-peer network. A user who has a particular dataset in her local store is a provider for that dataset, and can accept queries about it from other users in the network.

Indeed, there is not a word about private sale or sales at all in the documentation or in the Whitepaper.
The project is announced in the token-related section of the forum, so it would be strange if it had its own source of funding.
I think we just have to wait for the announcement of tokenomics details and roadmap.

Blockchain is complex and right now there is no single file system available that can meet upper layer expectations. We need more of stuff that can handle databases, data warehouses, CDNs etc. If CATA is the solution designed for this then it will be a huge success.

Exactly! We think there is still a big gap in the decentralized storage, especially in the mid-tier tools part. That's what we hope to do. We are currently able to provide sql-compatible query engines and will introduce more useful tools in the future.

Now we have set up a query engine on top of the Decentralized File System, that means developers can manage structured data and query them effectively also in decentralized manner. It may serve like a decentralized database and it is sql-compatible and serverless. And we are going to integrate more tools including cache, cdn, RDF, and even AI-related tools in the future.
And sorry for missing the point about investment. We currently have a fundraising program and it is still in progress. You can send E-mail to investor@cata.network for further information.

Since this project is still in its early stages, we prefer to receive support from projects that are more related to the project itself or to the ecology, rather than just money.

Decentralized storage is required by not only NFTs but also by other blockchain based systems like DAPPs. Many are waiting for the launch of such projects since the NFT domain is overwhelmed by new projects but not many are providing solution to already existing problems. Lets wait and see how this project comes out.

CATA network has two important components, First is metadata storage, which is designed based on Minerva. The second is file storage, which is designed based on IPFS cluster in first period. These both components will help CATA in achieving there goal that is decentralized storage. In future we expect that we have some decentralized storage in some form.

Decentralized storage is something essential for NFTs, with decentralized storage the concept of NFT remains incomplete. I dont know why not many are thinking about this aspect. The way NFT market is going very soon it will grab a huge crypto market share and at that time we will see full worth of projects like CATA. Buy it now and HODL.

Thanks!

@blatchcorn whats the best source to find latest update about your project? I mean on which social media platforms you are active. All I can see on your twitter account are just retweets. There is nothing where we find info on how to invest, the tokennomics etc. I suggest be active on platforms like bitcointalk.org, so we get to know more about what you doing.

You can follow us on twitter @cata_blockchain.
If you would like to invest in this round, you can send e-mails to investor@cata.network, with a brief introduction about yourself. We will reply you as soon as possible and have a further discussion.

Thanks~

Real issue is there are not much updated about CATA on twitter page. Can you please update it on weekly basis because by not providing timely updates you are missing key audiences. People will take more interest if you update your twitter page on regular basis. If you dont do this your competitors will do that and gain the benefit.

Twitter should be updated by their recent developments. Usually, it is the first social media channel that will be updated. Because people are more into socmed these days. But would appreciate if they can post some updates in their thread also. This will also help their visibility in this community. Because some people are not familiar with their socmed channels, and more on lurking the forum.

IMO these days no channel should be left unattended whether its Twitter or bitcointalk.org. You don't where your potential customer is. Bitcointalk.org has over 2 million users and almost all of them are crypto literate. You dont find so many crypto subscribers anywhere else. The way OP is active here, I am sure he will discuss this with the team.

Really, there is a problem with CATA team communication with community. There is only one chanel, where we can find interesting for us information about project development - Twitter account. And the last post there was made on 26 October. Besides, it would be better to create blog. It would be another way for us to find out new information about project.

I do agree with you. Its such an interesting project but wasn't able to get attention of community because of lack of updates coming from there dev team. Its good that they have created thread here and OP is reading and replying to message. I am sure he has communicated this concern to officials. Lets see what they do.

It may be possible that they are in there development phase and don't wanna share updates right now. with time we will see updates of this project. but that's strange that they have restricted investment in there project. They must allow people to jump in, trust me lots of people wanna invest in that project.

One of best thing which I like about CATA is there documentation. You can find every detail in there documentation section, really appreciate that effort. The project is also on Github which is also a plus point. CATA is a project that provides a complete one-stop solution for Metaverse data storage.

I have a question that is there any other platform that is offering similar type of solution that is offered by CATA or you are the first one to offer such solution. If you are the unique one then you have better opportunity to have moon short earlier in your life cycle, as you dont find any competitor.

I dont think there is anyother platform that is providing similar type of solution, its CATA that is first one to target FLOW and NFT by providing a decentralized storage solution. This will be a big success if they were able to delvier what they are saying in there technical papers. All eyes are on what they release.

I too have same feelings for this project, its quite a good one if you read complete description of this project. I was amazed to see that such problems exists in crypto and till date no one realized that solution for such problems must be given. The impact area of this project is huge and we will see it once we see the project coming out.

As the title of this project says that its One-stop Storage Solution for NFT means it will cover everything related to NFT. They have targeted Flow blockchain, which is top of the line NFT blockchain. Chances are they will earn huge money in there pre-launch sales. I am waiting for there initial launch.

Well NFTs are far from going down and out, they are here to stay unlike other short lived concepts. What makes CATA unique in this domain is there token real world use cases. CATA is not just another coin that is launched with intention of making money, instead there is strong team behind the project.

I have a different opinion that in start majority of concepts in crypto are able to grab huge attention but with time they lose there popularity. remember the ICO boom in 2017? even shit coins enjoy the ride at that time. But with time they are not that much popular, We need to wait and see how far will NFT go.

CATA is providing a complete decentralized storage system that provide scalable storage functionality for the upper Blockchain Systems and Dapps through Minerva Layer. The minerva Layer is most interesting part of CATA, its a data query engine built that has three components: Qri- the data management tool, Drill- the distributed query engine, and IPFS- the storage backend.

The popularity of NFTs can be seen from the fact that melaina trup wife of ex President of USA is going to launch and NFT with her own painting. President Trump was not in favor of crypto when he was in power but deep down in his heart he knows its a valuable thing. Thats why her wife is launching an NFT.

2021 was clearly the year of NFTs and many have recognized it. There are many more to come after Maleina trump, just hold your breath. With rise in popularity of NFTs there will be dire need for decentralized storage also, a short coming many have ignored so far. CATA jumping in this side at very early stage, this will be edge for them.

There are few competitors of CATA like BigchainDB and Cassandra. CATA is not alone in this category. But if you see the comparison chart then CATA has some edges. CATA is going on public blockchain while other two are private or Permissioned blockchain, which in my view are against the crypto ideology.

Going through this thread I came to know that CATA is not launching his token right now. I think by doing so they are missing the opportunity to grab the market at its peak. year 2021 was year of NFT and same boom of NFTs may not be seen in 2022 as Metaverse is taking over crypto market.

This might be true analysis but only OP can answer it that why CATA is not launching its pre-sale when its the right time to sale the tokens. I studied this project and it adds to my knowledge that Blockchain is experiencing lack of decentralized storage. Dont know why nobody paid any attention to it.

NFTs have strong requirements for storage and queries, thats the main reason for development of CATA project. CATA has designed a set of interaction protocols for Flow's Cadence contract layer, enabling integration and full traceability of token transactions and data storage, providing a one-stop solution for NFT publishing, storage, management and distribution.

CATA is moving in the right direction for aiming the correct target.

There is a reason for getting excited about NFTS because everyone is jumping into NFTs. I am not a big fan of such things that are short lived but one must not miss solid projects that are offering solutions. I like CATA not because they are giving NFT based solution rather because they are offering something realistic.

Thats the beauty of crypto world, you have to take risk at the right time to get your reward. Though I dont see much risk in investing in this project, as they have defined a clear short coming in decentralized storage. Once they launched actual product then it will be difficult to catch it.

There must be no misconception about NFTs future, at-least in 2022 they will be among top trends, With no decentralized storage, projects giving the idea of decentralized can easily be manipulated by teams. Once we have decentralized storage this issue can easily be resolved.

how can you say there is no decentralized storage available ? Remember file coin, they are giving same solution from very early days and there product is very much matured. CATA has done a good job but it will take some time.

Its a much awaited solution and I am afraid why nobody has touched that issue till date. There are many people in the queue waiting to see CATA in action and I am very sure this coin has bright future. The team is confident about the project thats y they are not in hurry to launch the sale of token.

Better to do pre-sale when you have some development work completed. Majority of projects want to raise money prior of doing any actual development on the project, its now a norm here in crypto world. If CATA is moving with this mentality then they are going in right direction and they will definalty get there moon shot.

It may be double edge sword, market is getting bearish and investors are moving out. If you delay your pre sale further then you may not get good result in days to come. Its very secret project as we only have info about its whitepaper nothing else is shared so far.

I think its not a very new idea there are other such solutions already in the market like FILE COIN that are harnessing the power of IPFS. But its a good edition in the market that we have more such platforms that will increase the competition. Lets see how far this concept goes from here.

You are mixing it up. IPFS is a different thing and CATA is totally different thing. The concept behind CATA is to build a storage system for NFTs specially that is decentralized in nature and this is something not available till date. Moreover, CATA is targeting Flow blockchain.

If you are interested in this project then you need to focus more about utilites and core concept of this token. How is the decentralized storage development going and can you tell how much storage space in total you will offer? I am interested to how how fast one can retrieve his data from your storage space.

CATA is mixture of NFTs, FLOW and decentralized storage. The project has lot to offer in the form of its storage feature. Flow is one of the most popular NFT based blockchain which Cata is targetting.

Don't think OP is interested in your question. Middle ware may refer to storage media that holds NFTs that are hosted on blockchain. Middleware is usually a software that provides interoperability and CATA is trying to give interoperability b/w blockchain and the storage media.

Flow blockchain has gone down drastically in its value from 38 dollars in Apr-May 2021 to 5$ right now. I am very much sure NFTs popularity are coming down and they are no more as popular as they are in 2021 and this in turn is alarmingly for projects like CATA who are dead silent.

With more and more DAPPs rolling out, there is growing demand for Dapp data storage. I personally like the idea of extending current IPFS protocol by CATA to provide decentralized storage while achieving flexible metadata management. Just waiting to see this in action.

I completely agree. I only just read about this, but it seems like a perfect solution for a problem that not a lot of members of the public reading about crypto realise we have.

I'm still reading up, but I'm curious about your remark. Is CATA not in action yet? In a quick glance it seems like there is a long history of activity.

The idea is innovative but the irony with this project is that we are hearing nothing about development news bout this project.

There only social media account is on twitter and there you can find only few retweets nothing about when can see at least there MVP.

Why would we message them privately? If we have to send them a private note then why is this Ann thread created. Lets just close this and make a note that anyone interested can just email us for details. I try to get some info from there twitter page but all I find is retweets of NFTs nothing about CATA.

I don't think NFTs are in a mood of slowing down in 2022, even if they slow down then need for decentralized storage will always be there and CATA is doing the right thing by addressing decentralized storage and targeting flow blockchain for NFTs. I am just waiting to see how actual product looks like in coming days.

NFTs are no more popular as in 2022 metaverse is the new big thing. More and more investment is going towards Metaverse. But I do agree that CATA solution of providing decentralizaed storage is a thing that will always remain in demand whether or not NFTs are popular or not.

That may or not be true since 2022 is in its very early stage and so far NFTs are doing good, So I think CATA still has good road ahead in 2022 provided they meet there targets in 2022. If they can meet there targets in 2022 then CATA can reach new heights.

There is lots of moment in crypto market regarding NFTs and Metaverse. I am sure CATA has some space to adjust metaverse also which is boiling issue these days. If CATA can some how integrate both Meta verse and NFTs then it will have is moon shot very soon.

Correct me if I am wrong same concept is seen in Filecoin that is launched in 2017. Now 5 years later we have another such project that is providing a decentralized storage not only for CATA but for general storage also. IF they can deliver what they are saying (though we hear nothing from them) then it can be a big success

Na you are comparing two different things. Filecoin was launched in an era when everyone was crazy for ICO and there is no concept of NFTs at that time. CATA is providing decentralized storage for NFTs along with general storage. Thats the prime difference b/w filecoin and CATA.

I guess filecoin was launched with different use case while utility of CATA is altogether different. CATA has identified shortcomings in blockchain and has proposed a decentralized storage for NFTs. Dont forget they are targeting two things NFTs and flow blockchain. Many like me are just waiting for the roll out of the project.

Even if NFT goes down for some reason even then CATA has generalized storage solution that can be used by other blockchain projects. So there is a minimum risk involved in investing in CATA. Right now there pre sale is not opened but dont miss the opportunity.

That's the right approach, honestly the way NFT market is going IMO its very much saturated and wont be that much success in year 2022. Its better to have some backup utility apart from just providing storage space for NFT. CATA is also having a general storage that is compatible with SQL queries.

I have zero doubt about popularity of NFTs but the only concern is that there are already too many NFTs in the market and the competition is too tough for new comers. CATA has to come up with strong implementation of its project to have a success else it will just another shot coin.

Decentralized storage is the core component of CATA which means that storage can be done on different locations not at central one. While the database is the one that can be used to refer or query the decentralized storage.

My question which I have already asked so many times but still not answered is that is MASS the first one to offer decentralized storage or we have some other projects like filecoin that are offering similar services? As far as i know filecoin is offering similar service for quite a while now.

This project is working to build a cloud platform that is very unique, I have rarely seen a project that wants to develop the cloud storage industry in cryptocurrency. In addition, this project will also develop their NFT, it can be seen from their twitter, but the community that CATA has currently is very small, even information on CATA token data cannot be found on sites such as Coinmarketcap and Coinecko, the twitter community is quite small and does not have a telegram group. , how do you develop your project with very little community support.

CATA has done one good thing that they have chosen the right aim of there project i.e. developing a decentralized storage for NFTs. You pointed out correctly that not much info is available about this coin on CMC and there twitter page is also not very active. May be they are in pre-launch era where they are making team or gathering required data.

The idea of making a "one stop storage solution for NFT" at this point is best thing about this project. Right now NFTs are at full boom and new NFTs are launching every day. With such growing pace of NFT the demand for decentralized storage space is also coming up. I am amused to know that we don't have any decentralized storage space till now.

Its not a project that can be developed in days or week, developing a decentralized storage eco-system need time and skilled team. If you are interested in this project then better stick with them and wait for sometimes. The  IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) protocol is extended to provide a decentralized storage system and you can imagine it will take some times.

The existing main decentralized storage solutions like filecoin only provide storage module. AFAIK, CATA is not limited to a specific storage module (e.g.file system or database). The idea is to develop a big decentralized data system that provide flexible, scalable and practical data management services for upper layer.

But I see they are now doing the concept of collaboration with NFT which makes the Cloud look more mechanical, But if you combine this concept, especially with NFT with a concept that is still not perfect in the security section, will you solve this solution too?

They are trying to give a decentralized solutions that is not general at all means it will also provide a storage medium for NFTs also. With evolution of NFTs its now realized that there are not any ideal decentralized storage which can store NFTs. I think its high time to roll out this solution as demand for this is growing.

So its a complete one stop storage solution for complete metaverse, I think they are claiming a very big thing. Metaverse is most popular term of this year and even facebook have been renamed to this. with time we will see more such solutions. so you loose share in the long run.

since the demand of decentralized storage will increase with time as NFTs will be released with time. Those who are early in the market will definitely get more share then those who join this domain at later part.

The real issue is that NFTs are using blockchain for building the marketplace while metadata relies on central storage solutions and linkage of both these things are creating poor user experience of NFTs. There is a need to design a protocol that solves this problem of bad user experience.

This is very much correct upto some extent. NFTs evolved without any prior planning and we are now at a position where we have a bottle neck for NFTs and this bottle neck need to be solved immediately. CATA has started its journey in right direction and that too at right moment.

Through CATA underlying file system users can obtain persistent and secure storage to preserve the raw data of NFT. Also intermediate CATA-data base layer will allow flexible storage and retrieval of structured data like meta data of NFT. Something not available before.

Its a platform developed for Metaverse data storage and they are saying that CATA provides a complete one-stop solution for Dapp data storage. Extending the IPFS protocol to create a storage that will be completely decentralized and at the same time giving flexible metadata management, also the SQL queries will be managed much better.

CATA team need to explain this stuff using simple language through this forum or using YouTube. Since most of us are not familiar with such underlying technology. CATA team need to wake up else it will be too late to explain this. If you are not active at a point where your coin are not listed then it will be difficult to get a moon shot.

Its a platform developed for Metaverse data storage and they are saying that CATA provides a complete one-stop solution for Dapp data storage. Extending the IPFS protocol to create a storage that will be completely decentralized and at the same time giving flexible metadata management, also the SQL queries will be managed much better.

There are many NFTs coming and many are in the pipeline. We may not seeing the problem of storage since the projects are in there initial phases and with time when they will grow, there will be a dire need of decentralized storage and thats where CATA will fit in. Just wait for the right time.

One of the core component of CATA project is Minerva,  which is a data query engine made by combining three co-operating components: Qri- the data management tool, Drill- the distributed query engine, and IPFS- the storage backend. Minerva is the one that will take the CATA to next level.

This is not the only key feature of CATA there are many more like that available in CATA which are unique to CATA only. CATA not only provides decentralized storage but also expedites the process of data retrieval from this decentralized storage. just waiting to see implementation.

Honestly I don't think this is something new. That's why the team is also shy in rolling out details of the project. There are scores of such projects already floating in the market. You can see and explore filecoin for instance.

It lot depend on how NFT market will behave in coming days. Right now they are going up o anything related to NFTs are big uccess and so will be CATA. Projects like CATA should focus on other areas also so that in case NFTs collapses they have other market to look after.

Don't worry about NFTs they are up in at-least 2 to 3 coming years and may be more after. There is huge demand for decentralized storage for NFTs and there are not many projects that are giving such solutions. CATA is the first one who took responsibility of decentralized storage for NFTs.

You have not got the point then, with advent of tech like big data, cloud, IoT there is so much data to be stored and processed efficiently. DATA has become one of the most important asset of 21st century and you have to admit that decentralized storage is still an area that need attention.

Its not about flow nor about NFTs, CATA in nutshell is a combination of interaction protocols for Flow's Cadence contract layer, enabling integration and full traceability of token transactions and data storage, the aim is to give one window channel for NFT publishing, storage, management and distribution.

AFAIK, flow is one of the most popular blockchain for NFTs and that means CATA main target is to capture NFT market. NFT right now is booming and its a good move to capture NFT market. There are many projects already in this sector, CATA needs to work hard.

Well you missing the core aspect of decentralized app, they need decentralized storage where there is no scalability issue and also provide flexibility. This all is still missing in blockchain and I dont know why nobody is taking this thing seriously.

You can find more about CATA on the documentation section provided on there website along with whitepaper. That's the only reading material available till now and i think its sufficient to understand the concept that is provided by CATA. The concept is innovative yet not many focused on it.

The whole crypto market is hijacked by these centralized exchanges. A coin is literary zero if its not on any exchange and there are many solid coins that are gone to zero just because they cant afford exchange fees.

CATA has no issue of funds thats why they are not asking for any financial help in the form of crowd funding. They are in development phase and once its rolled out it will easily make it top exchange. Its a project backed by Chinese team which are known for giving quality projects over the time in blockchain.

Yes from 2015 onward Dremel/MPP  has taken over like Impala, Presto, Drill. I hardly see any blockchain project that is using these technologies. There is need to use these technologies to expedite the process SQL query. Right now storage is the biggest issue in blockchain projects.

Challenges in NFT Storage
The dilemma between Usability and Cost
On-chain storage is flexible in business logic, but with limitations of available space
Decentralized storage scheme(e.g. IPFS) can hold massive data, but with weak interactivity
Source (https://cata-1.gitbook.io/cata-docs/introduction/core-concepts)

I just came across these limitations of NFT storage and that's genuine case. IPFS only implementation till date is File coin and there are so many complain about that project. Lets just wait and see how CATA come up with solution.

So CATA will solve issue to limited space as well as scalability. Its not very simple now since to extract data from storage these days need some good design on your Databases end. Storage is not the issue these days but extracting that data in quick duration is the key factor.

Yes that true. Its common assumption that adding more HDDs solve the problem of storage but in current environment storage is not the only solution. We need storage that can be accessed quickly and results can be seen in short span of time.

Thats very much true. There are many factors these days involved in making a project successful or fail like token utility, who is backing the project etc. If CATA need to make it to mainstream then it need to focus on showing utility of its token that will further attract investors there. just good concept is not everything you need these days.

The concept of decentralized storage is still emerging along with NFTs and will take some time to get mature. NFT platforms like opensea need some storage space a decentralized one where projects can be kept.

Some says that NFTs may even beat bitcoin in long run and if that happens then projects like CATA will be found on MARS not even on MOON. It largely depends on how market behave in coming days. Just wait and see.

You must be kidding. Nothing can beat bitcoin and is something like that happens then that would be last day of cryptocurrency. Meanwhile the market is taking a bear turn and you are advised to invest in your own interests.

Nothing to worry about. These two are totally irrelevant to each other, NFTs are coming like a hurricane and there is no way such deals can impact them. CATA aim of targeting NFT is also a god strategy since NFTs are no more just a buzz word these days. DYOR but I think its very safe project for investment.

CATA is about decentralized storage not about NFTs, at least go through the whitepaper before you start telling people whether to invest or not.

Well I have complete knowledge about the project. You better read project details before start criticizing others. Its certainly about decentralized storage but also provide decentralized storage for NFTs which are badly looking for something that can solve this issue. Hope you got thepont.

As long as there is no team info and no info about whether the company is registered somewhere or not i don't think they will attract much business. To gather more business there is a need to get in contact with people which sadly this team is not doing.

You can contact them at  info@cata.network, I send them an email regarding how to get coins early on. To my surprise they replied, though reply was not what I wanted but still this shows that project is alive.

Cata plan is good that is everything related to NFT can be found here on one platform. NFTs are evolving and sooner or later they will hit by chaos of storage problem and thats where CATA will fit in. CATA is for future not for present.

The storage issue is not limited to NFTs only but for entire blockchain world there is no decentralized storage medium. If cata can deliver a quality decentralized solution then this will be a big hit.

Its not about CATA, all projects offer good things. They fail in delivering the product.
Any project that can deliver what they promised is always a big hit.

Haven't seen much projects that are as silent as this project is getting. No announcement and nothing info about the project on the internet. They are making a big mistake which they will pay in days to come.

There are many aspects of decentralized storage that need to be addressed at the moment. NFTs are coming in but there is nothing like decentralized storage which can accommodate such massive things. I dont consider FileCoin a decentralized as its very much controlled by few entities.

I don't think if that's true is a good idea since new projects token are always sold at very cheap price. There may be some delay in project development thats why we are not seeing anything coming up at the moment. Its good to keep an eye on this project and buy when you have some extra stock.

You are not getting the point. CATA is not re developing the original FLOW blockchain rather "CATA has designed a set of interaction protocols for Flow's Cadence contract layer, enabling integration and full traceability of token transactions and data storage, providing a one-stop solution for NFT publishing, storage, management and distribution. It is fully compatible with Cadence's resource-oriented capabilities, allowing Cadence developers to easily connect NFT contracts to storage facilities". I read that there is Chinese team behind this project that have close ties with flow project. Thats the main reason why they haven't yet sold there tokens. Once they officially announced there partnership with flow all tokens will be sold in blink of an eye. There is huge investor already looking for the investment opportunity here.

For NFTs the real challenges realted to data are it Storage, Retrieval and Security. There is no copyright protection mechanism on the interent as well as the decentralized storage solutions are pure storage with no query capability. All these things need to be addressed sooner so that we dont see any issue with NFTs.

Yes thats pending for many months now and its very strange that such important part is incomplete so far. But you just keep an eye on this thread and there site, i think they will update it very soon since the project has been launched for quite a while now.

Do you have any source to prove this clam that project team has stopped working on it?
Its very big project, CATA is designing some protocols for Flow blockchain and as per my info CATA is a project backed by Chinese team who have extensive experience of working on different projects.

How much max cap of NFTs this platform can handle??? They should tell this before the project launch since most of the platforms these days give fake data about the volume traded.

Dont think there will be anything like declaring how much market cap the platform can handle. It can be millions of USD that any small project can handle easily. In crypto there is no regulations that can keep a strict eye on projects. So projects can say whatever they want.

Thats true. But those projects who wanna excel have to take care of this aspect otherwise there project wont get success. I am sure CATA is big project and will not get involved in any fake data.

You can take it either way. CATA has too much to offer for NFTs or you may say its NFT centric project. Decentralized storage is just one key aspect of CATA not the complete project. CATA will also develop set of interaction protocols for flow blockchain and thats why it getting so much fame.

but as much as I checked they have not launched any Token yet. and I am not sure if they will launch any token in future or not.

Yes there is great debate going on that also. Recently Eth also shifting on PoS also just to avoid too much energy wastage to keep alive the blockchain. Its a good move by Cata to partnership with blockchains that are energy efficient to avoid any future problem.

On of the good news about CATA fans is that there social media accounts like twitter are finally a bit active. They need to put more focus on there social media channels.

Yes that's indeed a good news for CATA fans like me. Ether merger is round the corner and very soon we will have PoS taking over PoW. There are lots of Defi and NFTs project hosting on Eth blockchain and soon they will need a decentralized storage for which CATA will be the only solution.

I dont know what logic is this. NFTs are just a buzz word and very soon they will die and soon we will see some new concept emerging in the form of another buzz word. In crypto the only real solid investment is bitcoin.

With Bears taking over crypto market its better to delay token sale until bulls are back in business. i think market has been bullish for quite sometimes and will stay bearish for few months or a year who knows. I think that's the major reason why CATA team has delay the project sale.

Yes thats correct. You need to first come into market to prove that you are there to stay. CATA is still not in the market and its position can only be cleared once its in the market. We cant say how an alt can behave before its launched.

There are not many ideal decentralized storage system available till date for blockchain. I don't know why anybody noticed that and proposed solution for this problem. Anyways since CATA has taken responsibility of that we will see lot others joining in in coming days.

Since no one take notice of this while CATA took that serious and now they will capture the share. I only mistake they are making is that they are not giving away details of this project and this will hurt them.

Its good to wait for sometimes as market is bear and tokens are going down. Let the market regain its lost momentum then it will be good to launch the project. Not many will invest in current situation.

Still you need to share details of your project since that will allow investors to keep an eye on your project and invest when there is bull run. When bull run start everyone will run to invest in projects that are already in there list. CATA should tell wts going on in there mind and take investors into confidence.

If you are talking about decentralied projects then there are few good one available in the market like IPFS and filecoin. Yet that doesnt mean that there is no roam for new projects. CATA can see what these projects are not offering and can launch there projects after studying them. There is so much content about IPFS and filecoin already available in the market. May be this is a good hint for team CATA.

Right now there are so many decentralized apps that are listed on flow blockchain and CATA team must take this point into consideration that if they are using flow blockchain then there project will also be listed on flow website. Otherwise it will be just another project.

It will be a challenging thing since not all projects are easily listed on flow website but the top one. In CATA there are protocols for interaction with Flow's Cadence
contract layer, through which developers can integrate and fully trace token transactions and data storage. Thats why CATA is a one-stop solution for NFT publishing, storage, management and distribution. Because of its fully compliance with Cadence's resource-oriented capabilities that allow Cadence developers to easily connect NFT contracts to storage facilities.

The decentralized storage system like IPFS can no doubt hold massive data, but there shortcoming is that there is weak interactivity in such system implementations. If CATA can address such issues then that can be a big plus for them.

If you look at flow community then it has grown over the years to the extent that there are many reliable projects that are harnessing the power of flow blockchain. For instance, Dapper wallet now support flow coin and there are hundreds of such decentralized apps that are built on top of flow blockchain. In future if they have support for flow coins then it will be beneficial for other apps also.

Dapper and FLOW cryptocurrency have same blockchain of origin. So this was very much expected to happen, in my view its a bit late to happen. But I do agree that flow has lot much to offer, so should be the apps over it.

There are decentralized storage system available and the biggest thing in my view is that they dont offer any query capability that's results in non availability of features like extracting data of your choice or slow searching in stored data. Moreover there is no copy right protection in NFT world, this is something badly required in NFT.

Solana Soars, Flow Falls as NFT Market Declines Further in November. Trading in November is about 88% lower than January as overall volume and total NFTs sold both slump even further.  (https://decrypt.co/116246/solana-soars-flow-falls-nft-sales-decline-november) This is not something alone for NFT as whole crypto market is taking a break. IMO its a good time to gather your favorite stuff on discounted rates.

We now live in era of big data and we need systems that can process and query massive amount of data. I read in there whitepaper that CATA is introducing a server less architecture and for database its like change in product form and usage pattern, but the function of the database itself has not changed. It will definalty bring some innovation in handling big data systems.

If moderator or anyone from the team CATA is reading this then we can you please update us about when you launching the project and when token sale will take place. I think its best time to grab the coins as market is bearish.

Is there any bounty program available for this campaign or not? If you are interested in promoting your project on bitcointalk then its very much necessary to launch the bounty program. Market is bear so its good time for new project to give details of there project and there is no better way then to do bounty campaign.

The year 2022 was good for NFTs in many ways, 7 Important NFT Trends (2022) (https://explodingtopics.com/blog/nft-trends). Overall the market was not bullish thats why not much activity was seen in almost all sectors. But that doesnt mean we must start ignoring NFTs, they have a future in years to come.

Well on what basis you are saying NFTs have future ahead? Just because you have bought some NFTs doesnt mean they have great future. Please come up with some strong evidence if you really think CATA has strong future.

One of the most interesting and demanded tasks that decentralized storage developers have to solve is the storage and execution of dynamic website pages. If we take into account the specifics of the NFT, then dynamic metadata is their formation and validation on the backend.

For example, the LOOT NFT (https://nftmetria.com/nft-collections/loot-for-adventurers/) collection (which was noticed even by Vitalik Buterin), develops methods for dynamically generating metadata outside the Ethereum blockchain. Because calculations and execution of dynamic pages and functions on the Ethereum smart contract is quite expensive. If this project manages to solve such problems, then it will definitely have a great future. it will be a fundamentally new technology that will significantly advance the world to WEB3.0
