Title: Should I buy Bitcoin?
Post by: ongsy89 on August 11, 2021, 07:59:19 AM
Hey everyone, I am new to crypto and have yet to start trading but all I see in the news is that Bitcoin prices are up and down fast. As a newbie should I look into purchasing it? If I do not have the capabilities to purchase a single coin can I purchase like a percentage of it? If yes how do I do it? Please help!

You can buy $50, $100 or whichever amount you want to buy, it is not compulsory to buy 1 Bitcoin. About trading, trading is very risky, holding is less risky and as Bitcoin is appreciative, expect good outcome. But, this is not an investment advise, do more research on your own.

before you decide it would be best if you read more information and do some research for yourself.
because this in addition to reducing you to follow the hype and trends that have occurred now.
because the case that often happens nowadays is when beginners follow the hype of others but with pump and dump coins so they experience losses and think crypto is a bad thing, even though it is their own fault which they take wrong action.
don't let that happen to you.
but for bitcoin itself if you want to try I think for now it will not be a problem to buy, considering the very good volatility of bitcoin can affect more or less in the long term and this can allow you to get a profit in investing. but with a note in the long term because here it is not instant as ordinary people expect.
it takes a process and patience considering this is a long term investment.
but in any form bitcoin is the best choice, apart from anti-inflation bitcoin is also a decentralized system with good volatility so it would be highly recommended if you invest here

As a newbie should I look into purchasing it?

If you're asking if you should buy bitcoin or literally any asset investment, you probably shouldn't. If you understood a certain investment then you should be able to make the decision yourself.

Hey Charles, thanks for this tip I would bear in mind what you have said and tread lightly with trading. So what you meant is I can buy like maybe $50 or $100 then I hold and see if the prices would increase and sell in the future yeah?

Alternatively, you can buy a small amount of satosh every week, say $50, and hold. This can bring a good profit in the future. But you said correctly, you need to think for yourself, your own strategy will be the most correct. You can listen to someone else's advice, but the decision must always be made by yourself. There is a lot of information on the Internet now, there is something to read.

If you want to start trading, i think you should buy altcoin instead of bitcoin. I think bitcoin is more suitable for you if you want to use it as a long term investment, not quite a good choice for trading i suppose. Why is that? it's because bitcoin is high in value, like you say, so it might not be able to afford a huge amount of it. Of course, you can buy a percentage of bitcoin, you don't need to buy 1 bitcoin, you can buy like 0,001 bitcoin, or whatever amount is okay. But with altcoin, there are a lot of choices with cheaper price that you can buy a huge amount, so if the price went up you can earn more profits from it. But if you are a newbie, I suppose you should learn more, find more things that are suitable for you, don't buy it immediately, learn and learn, and don't put huge amount immediately, start slow but surely.

if you can just buy at least $20 do so. the future is very unsure now, having a small investment in BTC is still a good advantage over having none. our local currency could become zero if things get worse and the only one that will probably survive is your $20 Bitcoin which could be worth outstanding after the crash.  ;D

try the exchanges or try localbitcoins.com to buy BTC.

you can buy,
since you have no experience with it, it seems reasonable to me to invest low in the beginning 100$ and while you are going to trade, it will not be good trade with less fund than this. market is swing in good movement, this uptrend consistency will stable few days.

Yep, that's the simple basics of trading. If you want you can try hodling instead so that you can skip all the pain in the ass lessons of what trading is and what are candles, charts, patterns, etc. Just DCA into the Bitcoin market every month, taking a part of your monthly income and investing them and hodling them for at the very least, a few years. It could be any amount, though do be careful since fees may just ruin your intro into it and remember to save it in hardware wallets instead of custodial wallets.

To answer your title, yes you should buy bitcoin, waiting will only lead you nowhere but regret and bitterness when the prices go up again. Yes you can buy a percentage of it, it's hard to buy 1 bitcoin nowadays so it's the best option. Try checking Coinbase if you can use it, they're pretty easy to use.

Basically we buy bitcoins and invest it on something but if you don't have any knowledge yet on technicalities about trading then maybe you shouldn't buy bitcoin at the moment maybe try to spend some time on some tutorial offered over the net and learn from those information where you can locate and after that I'm sure your ready to buy bitcoins since knowledge is more important since there are critical things that we need to learn just to earn on cryptocurrencies.

Also practice yourself to prolong your patience since you need that especially you are planning to join on tradings.

Bitcoin can be purchased and own in bits that is why it is called bitcoin, you can purchase the smallest amount of bits, but before then I will advise you to take your time to build your knowledge about cryptocurrency so that your knowledge will guide you in your bitcoin investment journey and avoid panic as a newbie.

@ongsy89, first invest your time in learning the basics and even a little more than that, and only then will you get the right answer to your questions. Most users of this forum will answer in the affirmative because you are asking a question on a crypto forum, but any opinion should be understood only as an opinion, not financial advice.

When you can define the following terms without hesitation, then you are ready for the next step - investing.

- What is the difference between a private key and a public coin address?

- How to securely store cryptocurrencies?

- What is the difference between a custodial and a non-custodial wallet?

- What is a fee and how to set it up properly when doing a transaction?

- What is phishing and how to prevent it?

- Can you accept that 95% of crypto traders trade at a loss?

it all depends on your appetite for risks because Bitcoin is always volatile - we can it now rising and we are rejoicing and then all of a sudden in the following week it is going down and we are disappointed. Of course, the best thing to do for a newbie is to HODL...so if that is what your strategy then BUY as many as you can now before Bitcoin reached $50K. Now, if you are into trading then I am advising that you learn more on this, come up with a winning and proven strategy and you are on your way to gaining profits in the cryptocurrency industry. Welcome to the club of roller-coaster riders.

If you are hesitating to buy bitcoin due to not having thousands of dollars to do so than its ok, you can buy small amounts from various sites and exchanges on the internet, we all have to start somewhere, but you have to understand that investing in bitcoin is a long term thing that will only get you more profit the more you wait and more you invest in it, so if you want the best results try saving some money each week or month and putting it back into bitcoin.

Even though the price of 1 bitcoin is $46k but we don't have to buy 1 bitcoin. Only $100 you can buy bitcoin. I highly recommend you to buy bitcoin. Because bitcoin is the number one currency. Buy according to your ability because bitcoin is suitable for investing in the long term.

any amount to trade in bitcoin is good mate.. But remember that your profits will base as well in your capital. Wherein if you trade small capital in it of course you will receive the same depends how long you keep holding your money from it. However if you're planning for shorting perhaps its not worth it.. Much better to accumulate more before to start trading to don't waste your time and efforts..

The only reason you should take consideration on not buying bitcoin is when it is at it its highest value at the moment because the likelihood of you earning from that investment is very low. Also, if ever you are transacting with someone who seems shady and untrustworthy, you should set back your transaction right away or else you will lose lots of money. You should never waste the chance of buying a bitcoin if its value is currently low yet you should take a look at the probability of it falling even lower so be careful. You can try diversifying your investment to other coins and you can buy only a percentage of it because buying a single coin will surely be expensive.

Matter of fact, Bitcoin is one of the crypto asset you never can strike off, is not something govt can put a stop to because it is not just a one man's invention and that makes me decentralized. So make hays while the sun shine.

Start buying now if you haven't started already with as little as $50, however you can buy as low as 10$ in an exchangeand keep there till you have excess to transfer to your personal wallet.

You can start buying bitcoin and it will be better if you can buy bitcoin constantly weekly or monthly in the same amounts. That is called bitcoin investment. You do not have to worry about the volatility of bitcoin price because if this day bitcoin price is down, tomorrow or next week, the price can increase even higher. Or you can hold the bitcoin for 6 months, a year, or even 2-3 years from now. Maybe you can have free money for $50 weekly so you can start to buy bitcoin using that amount and repeatedly in the next week with $50.

Of course you can buy in small denominations, if bitcoin didn't do so, there's not a lot of people that will be using bitcoin right now if they can't even buy a fraction of bitcoin. There are a lot of apps that you can buy from, Binance could be a choice for you, Coinbase is a popular one. Look for tutorials to buy bitcoin so you don't make a mistake when you actually buy it.

Yes of course, but the question is if you are ready and well-prepared like having enough knowledge about the thing that you want to invest in? But since you are telling already us that you are new in this field, I urge you to have learned it first before making a try. I know that experience is a good teacher but never took that much because we still have to invest time in learning things theoretically rather than just only experience. Because if that you are only aware that this was risky, I don't think if you have the courage to try this thing. I don't think so...

Bitcoin will be going up and up in the coming years, so this is a good time to invest in Bitcoin, you should buy Bitcoin when marketing little down. You can buy any amount but at least worth $10 is a minimum limit of most exchanges, you can buy from Binance or any other support exchange in your country.

In order for someone to buy Bitcoin they should have to understand first how the market works or else they will find themselves in the end of the day selling when the price is cheap. I would say buying during this time is great as long as you understand the market then go but you should also know the risk.

As OP wanted to buy Bitcoin but didn't know where, well, the search button at the top right corner of this forum is always available or you can find it in google then find it here for confirmation. I would say, Binance is one good exchange for OP to buy Bitcoin.

Anyone can buy bitcoins at any value according to their abilities, and most importantly you understand what bitcoin is and how it works and the risks.
You can register on a trusted and most popular exchange or on an exchange that is in your country and is also trusted and besides that you can buy in any amount depending on the purpose you choose to invest or trade and so on.
and then over time you will master it and but it depends on your progress in mastering to find what method works for you.

very good if you buy bitcoin but if you trade it would be better if you look at potential altcoins like ETH or others. where Altcoin prices are still low when compared to BTC the possibility to take profits is also greater for both long-term trading or day trading.

if you want to trade with bitcoin maybe it's a good idea especially for short term, but i suggest to learn first how it works coz as you said you are new here in space.. So be ready yourself before to start trading.
and when it comes investing be informed that the value of bitcoin nowadays is already at the highest level after the massive fall   which is make sure you have specific information where is the real direction of bitcoin growth rate ATM or when the improvement will last, as the matter of fact 60k is the current ATH, maybe you're not yet late and still have a chance to make profits from it. If your plan is long term like years. Maybe there's no problem with it coz bitcoin is still very optimistic but of course must invest what amount you can afford lose to prevent regrets and to have a piece of mid..  ;)

Come with me to legitimize bitcoin assets by accumulative buying.  I also don't have big money to invest, I spend some profit from my small clothing retailer to invest in bitcoin.  Don't get confused when the market goes down or up, simply bitcoin as the flagship of the market.  Just stick to the plan of accumulating bitcoin with a larger %.  Its productivity will surprise you over time.

You can possibly purchase a bit of it. If you don't have the money to purchase a single Coin. I can confidently tell you that Bitcoin won't fail you. But getting into the Crypto world without having full knowledge about how it works won't be a good idea. Firstly, you have to build your knowledge about Cryptocurrency, there are a lot of articles, youtube videos online that will definitely help you in knowing how Bitcoin works. How to purchase bitcoin then won't be a problem. Another important thing is that bitcoin Investment requires patience.

knowledge is the first thing we should invest in. Moreover, cryptocurrency is a new thing that is quite tricky in my opinion, if we come and join without preparing, especially just mentally wanting to make a quick profit then it can end up sad. we must know well what we are going to invest, and this can only be done by doing in-depth analysis, a little research to see how much opportunity you can get, to also determine whether this is the right time to buy or not. because cryptocurrencies are very volatile, price movements are easy to change, if you are not mentally prepared it will be easy to get carried away by the market.
invest in crypto when you are ready, make it as you want. learn a lot first so you can decide to determine, whether buying bitcoin is now profitable or not.

You can buy around at least $50 to start trading, $50 and a dream, you'll need to do a lot of research and self-study, there are various platforms in learning how to trade, YouTube, this forum can help you as well, Instagram, etc. One thing I can say is to not go around buying and selling immediately, being a good observer is part of constructing a good strategical plan when doing trading.

You can start to buy now but spend only what you can afford to lose because the market is so unpredictable and one thing you should not do, don't lend money just to buy bitcoins. Because it adds tremendous depression when the market is falling. Just use your own money and you will be fine with that. Don't worry you can always ask here whatever questions you have in your mind regarding bitcoins. There are some inspirational stories here you can read to take as a lesson, I think there was a man who quit smoking and he used his budget for smoking to buy bitcoins instead.

Well that is right, the amount that you can afford to wait is much better because bitcoin investment doe not has a good price range to invest, any time you can invest on the amount that you can afford. Cut off when you see your profit was there but if not, extend a few years in holding and wait until when your profit comes out. However, don't forget the golden rule in bitcoin investment [buy low and sell high] which means it's possible that you can earn profit in that way.

Learn everything from within, that's the first options that you should do before buying bitcoin as your investments for the future. If you do absorb all the characters that a cryptocurrency is having, then you can decide whether you're going to buy or not. For now the trend of bitcoin was doing great and positive so it's up to you to decide all by yourself. We can't force everybody to buy without proper understanding.
I suggest to start while there's an opportunity before second ATH comes which is much higher than previous one.

You can buy whatever amount of Bitcoin you would like. You shouldn't worry about it. You can easily see it while using an exchange to buy Bitcoin. When it comes to whether you should buy Bitcoin now or not, I think that you can buy some without hesitating. I'm saying this considering that you will hold your coins for a long time. That's the way you can make a really good profit in Bitcoin.

OP needs to think it twice and he must be aware that investing in Bitcoin and getting into the volatility might give him some pressure and if he can't manage his emotions it will drive him to losses.

In general, he must be strong enough and that only can be acquired if he is totally ready to face the consequences otherwise, better not to try. So many people have blindly invested in Bitcoin and have no surprise they just lose. And I hope this could not be going to happen with OP and neither to force him if he is not sure about crypto.
