Title: Buying real world items with crypto
Post by: apex944 on September 27, 2021, 08:28:55 PM
Where’s the best places to buy high ticket items with crypto?

Only place I’ve heard of doing this is 4K, but they’re building a marketplace where you can buy/sell NFTs backed by physical assets. They’re just starting out with high end watches. Would be interesting to see other items as well (website: http://4k.com/drops)

I feel like with the advent of blockchain we can disrupt all web2 platforms which all have crazy high fees and inefficiencies/fraud.

There are many platforms that you can use crypto for buying things like bitrefill. But it has to go through as a gift card and then use that gift card eventually for buying things on Amazon. We also have the Goods section where you can buy stuff directly with crypto.

Yeah, that was the design of bitcoin, to be used as micro payment scheme in online world.

However, it didn't do good because of bitcoin's volatility, but with the emergence of other alt coins, maybe we can see crypto gaining to be the best payment method now. Of course, blockchain has disrupt every industries, so no doubt that marketplace will be one of them. Not sure if you are related t the websites that you put the link on, but in any case Goodluck!!!.

Its really hard to find real things that accept crypto and bitcoin, even in my place its very rare to find such establishments that accepts crypto, though its available online it is still good to see physical store because it can attract many as well to spend their crypto the way it is, not just as an investment. Watching this thread to find more good sites to buy good things.

Bitrefill is the best option for everyday trade by purchase gift cards and shop online physical goods. There are a lot of other small stores who accept bitcoin payment but you won't find all what you want in those shops.

Others may suggest you Marketplaces in the DarkWeb, it is mostly known by it's marketplaces for illegal stuffs (drugs, arms,...). There should be some marketplaces selling legal products, but if you are not familiar with onion network, better to stay away from it.

Perhaps the best place is the onion network. I have to say that there are still too few places to buy items through cryptocurrency. However, it is very convenient to convert encrypted currency into legal currency, and it is recommended to use it as an investment target in the short term.

Actually, it is a popular topic of how to use NFTs not only for entertainment, but also for tokenization things and selling them through blockchain. I know only one platform now that specialises in tokenization of real estates, so maybe it also provides with opportunity to find a seller or a buyer on it. It is called mattereum.com, so you can try.

Bitrefill is one of the pioneer websites providing gift cards for purchase in exchange for crypto - both "high ticket" and "low ticket" might be available for you, depending on how you roll. I have been using them for quite some time for topups and all, and they are pretty reliable and useful.

It was the first of its kind to start a real DeFi in this system which at that time was not full of stablecoin pools and other scams.

Never heard of them and I am not interested in NFT, so will probably never use them.

That is not a logical statement though. Fraud and fees are high in every sector, be it fiat be it bitcoin.

There's a lot of things you can buy with crypto online, if you are looking for a real world items that or something like an item that was backed up by physical asset you can try to visit the Bitcointalk collectibles section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0 I'm not sure if that is what you are looking around but I think you referred something like that right?

I never liked Bitrefill. The idea of using crypto to buy gift cards to use is dumb.

definitely have to check out 4k. There’s another thread talking about them

Doesn’t Lolli act like honey where you earn satoshis from everyday purchases?

Otherwise my other suggestion would be 4k. I’m hoping they launch their marketplace soon because I’m itching to spend some of my nft gains

Bitrefill is popular for airtime in my country, But to buying physical assets they did allow in some countries and unlikely also my country is excluded.

Although i didn’t use it previously, but website doesn’t have SSL yet which is quite strange. Also they're doing drops of real item with retail price. So lets see if it'll be in the top list after launching marketplace or not, but it looks like good as of now. Also getting more interest for it because they did drop of GPUs of 3 thousand series as price of GPUs are really high in my country.  ;D

There are countless if sites where you can purchase stuffs and made the payment via Crypto. The world is rapidly changing and I lot things changing very soon in favor of all Crypto fan. This could be next generation of currency as the old currency is entering the final stage of its existence. The only problem I'm having is that the blockchain is not control and it make it a bit hard. How will the currency be regulated. I hope there can be a way to do that.

because in your country maybe crypto adoption is still small, and the number will slowly increase, while in my country crypto is still prohibited and not allowed to sell/buy goods to pay using crypto, only trade crypto coins.

Theres a little percentage of website or store that you can purchase real world items using crypto because not all country already adopt it as mode of payment and not all store will choose crypto as payment because of its volatility. Hope soon it will grow and we can totally use crypto to purchase online or even in a physical store in different country. For now you can purchase to those site that others recommend to you.

Nowadays, there are over dozens of companies that accepts cryptocurrency in exchange for their goods or service like Tesla. But not as effective and easy as it could be because before you can buy their goods you 1st need to download some 3rd party wallet to purchase their goods. Here are some lists of things you buy with crypto.

Wow its, Really a market place designed for transactions using crypto, when I entered the 4k website we had to install metamask first and I realized the items being sold were rare items. this is a unique and crazy idea to buy things with crypto with changing coin values it is really difficult to calculate the profits but this is the right design to buy physical assets with crypto money. I wish there was an online market place like that in my country

I mean it’s like any other marketplace. You name your price and you can probably choose to only accept a stablecoin like USDC. I have my eye on my some watches they have listed for sale

For now it is rare to find a real website that supports the use of bitcoin or crypto coin for online purchase. But if it is covered to fiat, then there are whole lots of them.

It won't be really easy to handle this form of business transactions if it's been compared to the P2P process of crypto convertion to fiat, there will still be some lapses that will need to be put in place for a smooth transaction. Let's take for instance P2P, you need to as a seller confirm that the cash has been deposited into your account, and an escrow standing as the third party. Now, buy a product online, will the product be paid for first, then wait for the delivery or the product will be delivered first, then seller waits for payments, stuffs like this.

Well, I know for sure that, a way will definitely be made that will correct and solve this and crypto will be used for purchasing of goods/products online.

There are various platforms that support this. In my country, you can buy a High end Mountain bikes/Road bikes using SLP. Hotels can also book your reservations using BTC too. Aside from that, projects like PundiX helps the transitions too. Projects like GOMT will also soon have a place in this for they would accept orders in buying meat products and groceries using their tokens.

Now on Twitter, there's a lot of people talking about NFT and its biggest and most complete market if I'm not mistaken at https://opensea.io/. For a Marketplace like 4K as you said above where we can buy/sell NFTs backed by physical assets in my opinion, this is very good, this is a new evolution as an initial step in the development of the NFT Market and I believe there is a bigger goal than this NFT is to get people to buy goods using crypto and NFT will change the world For example now Can pay auctions using crypto cryptohttps://www.coindesk.com/sothebys-to-accept-crypto-for-rare-100-carat-diamond-in-upcoming-auction.

Bitrefill seems to be the best option for buying real world items with crypto, as far as I personally know. But there are also other website that sell plane tickets, hotels and even car rental leases. However I would be ignorant if I didnt mention the more than generous (to the website owner) Bitcoin prices when compared to market prices. Basically be prepared to pay a large chunk more than if you bought with fiat... I think that will change with more adoption though...

There are options to buy real world stuff with crypto. In my country, you can order food from fast food via TFA app. I have done this at least and its not a hearsay. You can accumulate the tokens on the app via playing several games
