Title: Did I make a mistake?
Post by: golfquasarfoxplumweb on October 13, 2021, 02:26:16 PM
Hi all,

I’m scared to death so I’ll get straight to business. I think I made a terrible mistake. I’m completely new to crypto and have no experience with transfers, transactions, etc. whatsoever. I entered the world of crypto as it was the payment method recommended by the company I started working for. And now I’m totally confused.

I received the BTC and I have them in my wallet. I still haven’t exchanged them for cash — I’m not even sure how to do it. I watched tutorials, but I’m still kind of hesitant. But since I have them on my account, I wanted to do something useful with them. I tried to make my deposit here https://betinhell.me/bitstarz-casino-bonus/ (https://betinhell.me/bitstarz-casino-bonus/). However, I’m not sure whether I did it successfully, nor whether I did something terrible.

Namely, I can’t see the deposit on my casino account. Yet, a part of my BTC is gone. It’s been three days since I did the transfer and still nothing. Regular ones would have been deposited by now. I contacted the casino customer support, but they didn’t give me any useful advice.

Have you got any idea what happened? Did I do anything wrong? Where are my bitcoins? I’m really starting to panic. Help!

After 3 days your deposit should have been visible, even if you paid the lowest fee - so as not to guess what happened, you should tell us which crypto wallet you used and do you see that your transaction is confirmed (green checkmark next to the transaction). You can also click on a transaction, and if you get the option to see the details you can be redirected to one of the block explorers, and you can place that link here if you want (this may affect your privacy).

As for the casino itself, there are some accusations against them on the forum, but in general they have a lot more positive than negative ratings on TrustPilot, which again does not mean that everything is fine with them.

Well, something is wrong in your history.

You said you are new to cryptocurrency and you received BTC as payment for your job. And now you want to exchange that BTC por your local currency

Why the hell would you send it a casino then? You should have just sent it to an exchange, like Binance, Coinbase, Bitstamp, whatever. A Casino is a place where you gamble, not where you exchange funds.

You may be able to do that in a casino, but certainly that isn't the best option available. And it is very strange that someone thinks about a casino being the first option to exchange between currencies.

Anyway, as Lucius said, after 3 days you should already see your deposit as the mempool was cleared few days ago. They received your money... You should open a ticket to the casino and ask for support. You should link your transaction ID to prove that you sent the money.

I won't comment on the strangeness of the situation.  ::)

You should have the transaction info in your wallet. You can check if the address you have sent to is the one you were supposed to send to. And if it looks correct you can try to discuss with the casino's support.
But don't send them more money.
However, there are good chances your money is gone, since I have seen that casino name (I'm not familiar with) in the List of Casinos and Sportbooks to Avoid (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5283832)

Next time try to use an exchange; or maybe acquire a Bitcoin debit card and make better use of that money.

Since you are saying you are new to crypto there are chances that you might have entered the wrong address while sending your bitcoins.
The first thing you should do is put the transaction id in your post so that anyone of us can look through it and confirm if the casino has received your bitcoins.
Once confirmed then you can raise a ticket in the casino and show them your transaction id and claim the bitcoins into your account.

I wonder how a newbie could end up sending bitcoins to a casino which I have never heard of previously. I mean where did you get that idea from ?
Also, beware the next time you send your bitcoins to anybody. Double check the address and make sure the website/service is not a scam.

Didn't your parents, friends, comrades tell you that players usually lose money in casinos?
Cryptocurrency can be exchanged for fiat on any well-known crypto exchange, but if you do not want to go through verification, you can find a partner at https://www.bestchange.com/

If your transaction is not confirmed, ask for help here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034315.3080

It seems to me that this is an unsuccessful advertisement for a casino.

I like the way you observed the situation in his statement and critically answered him like a detective. Anyways, I believe anyone that's new to the world of Cryptocurrency and want to withdraw would search online for exchanges that supports this process which I expect that you should have done. I'm not sure a casino website would ever cross my mind as means of withdrawal. Is there something that you are not telling us?

Where did you know that casino in the first place? Im bit familiar with bitstarz basing off on the link given but that one is known to be shady and scammy. Have you considered on contacting their support?

3 days wait is way too long and it should have reflected already into your account and wont be taking up that long and that's why you should really be careful on next time on dealing up with other sites.

Researching or making some google doesn't really cost an arm and leg.Dont expect that much for your money to be given back.

3 days of not receiving it to the deposited address that is strange and there is something wrong with your transactions.  Well, might have to check back the following...
*receiving address
*site( might deposited to the wrong/pishing site)
*check the blockchain record to know if it is confirmed

Actually, we can't assess where it goes as you've never posted the complete details of your transaction(s), or just I miss something? But with that case, I'm afraid it was gone forever.

It would be helpful if you could provide details of the transaction. Most wallets display your most recent transactions on their dashboard, and right clicking to that particular transaction you did will give you options re: checking transaction details and other things. If you already contacted support about your deposit, you would already have some hint on what the transaction history is, and have already checked the transaction in the blockchain.

And looking at that site, it seems as though you have sent your money into something shady, or you are trying to shill a casino, and it's not a very good way to do so.

I tried to make my deposit here https://betinhell.me/bitstarz-casino-bonus/ (https://betinhell.me/bitstarz-casino-bonus/). However, I’m not sure whether I did it successfully, nor whether I did something terrible.
Have you used this gambling site previously?
I mean, you are new to crypto, but you sent the Bitcoin to that betting site, it means that you probably have been there in the casino? Or did someone tell you about sending the Bitcoin to the certain wallet of that casino? Are you sure that you have really created an account and also see the transaction done?

Maybe he wants to gamble a lil bit before cashing out his crypto. We don't know his intentions why instead of using a reputable exchange, he went to send the money to a casino. Some people are also for the bonus offered by the site. So no surprise if he was tempted to claim such bonus.

The OP should check his btc transaction here - https://blockchair.com/ or https://www.blockchain.com/. Paste the transaction ID if it already went thru.

Lol, your post sounds like you are just trying to advertise your own site and probably want us to click that affiliate link of your. You can't make any deposit to the "link" you added to your post. Anyway, if you are serious, and can't see your deposit, why are you asking here? This isn't the bitstarz support forum. Go contact their support and ask them what happened. Send them txid as proof.

I don't think OP is in his/her right mind if he/she is promoting his/her own site this way. He/she is basically saying his/her money has not yet arrived even after depositing it three days ago. That would be a suicide promotion. In effect, OP is discouraging rather than encouraging potential clients. He/she won't be making any affiliate earning this way.

Why did you even accept the recommendation when you knew nothing about it?

Anyway, you should contact the casino. Tell them your case. But just so you know, that casino has an account here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=307265) and it has so many red tags.

You are new in cryptocurrency, since you don't know anything about cryptocurrency why didn't you ask questions or make research with your phone avoid mistake. Casino is for gambling not an exchange I'm still wondering how true about this story , sounds somehow to me.

The OP didn't want his bitcoin to be exchanged for cash, but just trying to make a transaction how bitcoin works and the video he has seen is a tutorial on sending bitcoins to that casino. I'm pretty sure the OP will have a hard time providing proof of a tx if he doesn't even know what a txid is (maybe he did it in a custodial wallet).

I don't understand how a company can recommend a salary with something even the recipient doesn't know how to use. I'm actually worried if the bitcoin value that the OP receives is not equivalent to a normal cash payment.

Of all the sites why on Casino he can do it with his own wallet by creating another wallet where he can test transfer Bitcoin, after that if he knows how to transfer he can then deposit on his favorite casino, and you are right companies should not send Bitcoin to his employees as a salary if they do not understand anything about Bitcoin, they should first educate them and let them do a transfer before they send them Bitcoin.
OP did not update this thread we don't know if his issue is resolved.

Sounds a bit unusual to me, actually.
For example, should you fly an aircraft even though you have no flying experience?

You should read up a little on the subject before, to know how to use a blockchain to track your transactions.
The Wikipedia page about Bitcoin might be a good place to start.

I wish you the best of luck in finding your Bitcoins...  :)

You should always consider on making out some research first before making some deposit because there are lots of
casinos online which are trusted and reputable and based up on the link which do talks about bitstarz and heres
some links in regards to that.

Your statement is conflicting with each other. You are new to cryptocurrency but directly jump into the casino. It's hard to believe that, even I am a long time with cryptocurrency but still have not much experience with casinos nor I am interested. Anyway, we can't say what happened exactly if you do not share your transaction id. If you have a privacy issue then don't share it since it will expose your Bitcoin address. You can check with any explorer whether your transaction is confirmed or pending. If confirmed but the casino declined to add in your balance means you are being scammed. If the transaction is pending then wait or increase transaction fees if you are using the non-custodial wallet.

Completely new in crypto and you want to do something useful with your BTC. So, what is most useful for you? Deposit it to the casino? Really?

Did I do anything wrong? Where are my bitcoins? I’m really starting to panic. Help!

Yes, you do something wrong. Don't gamble with money that you can't afford to lose.

A lot of OP's actions is questionable if this is true why made your first deposit in a casino, it should be on a wallet that you own to see how it works and to the general idea on the transfer, and if he is serious about his issues he should do a follow up since he posted his issues here, it seems OP just want to promote that review site if it is it backfired, that's not the way to promote a site.
