Title: Do you spend your Bitcoin?
Post by: kevinovecka on October 18, 2021, 08:18:21 AM
Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

Do what you want to your bitcoin, you are the omwer, you can hold it or sell it or use it for something else. But as for me I prefer to hold my bitcoin, I convert just little to fiat if I need money, I am not planning to sell my bitcoin, bitcoin is still too young for that. Let us expect $100000 price and more price increase will still come, then if not using your bitcoin for anything, why not just hold till life time and let your children inherit it.

Since I earn bitcoin too, I spend some and I hold some. Bitcoin is money and it's no use to just gather/hold them all for after I'm turned to dust.

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

I buy rarely for Bitcoin. It's not really an option in my country. I usually have to convert to fiat first.
So the answer would be... that I'm missing almost everything that money (fiat) can buy?

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?

My strategy is to keep a balance between fiat and crypto.
If my bitcoin stash becomes reasonably big I will probably sell more than I earn, maybe even diversify in other investmnets; but I'll think more on that when I'll get there, if ever  :D

You know, the typical wants and needs because we're humans as well. :P Take note that some of us here are like 90%+ allocated into bitcoin, so it's just natural to be spending bitcoin(or selling a small amount of bitcoin for fiat).

I spend and kept some. Is anyone also spending their BTC for Shib?  Yes. It can't be denied people are buying memecoins for whatever their purpose is and it's not just Shib but there is also Kishu Inu token. Altcoins can be bought by BTC, it shouldn't be missed to buy altcoins for they are cheap for now.

Everyone has an exit strategy as long as they profit from getting out of it, it's still an exit strategy.

Yeah but holding itself doesn't increase price
Imagine every single person in Btc world is holding...

In Czech Republic you can get almost anything for BTC (Maybe only food not yet :D But coffe, beer, electronics, cars,...)

My strategy is to keep a balance between fiat and crypto.

Only few people are holding bitcoin if compared to the rest of the world but the adoption is increasing.

Back to your point, assuming everyone in the world is holding bitcoin, that the price will not increase? No because fiat will depreciate, this will make the price of bitcoin to still increase as it is paired with fiat.

At the moment I am not spending my bitcoins. The bitcoin price finally bounced back above 50,000 USD, selling now my coins seems wrong. First I want to see a new ATH before considering to use my bitcoins for any purchases. I kind of stopped spending any coins once bitcoins went above 20,000 USD last year. Before that I used bitcoins regularly to buy and sell CSGO skins and to deposit and withdraw money for playing poker. The problem is just that once you buy something for coins you have a fixed price in your head and as soon as bitcoins rise higher, I feel like I lost something. Right now I don't want to do the same mistake again. Better to hold and buy in the future.

Yes

For other investment opportunities. I'm one of those risky taker type of person and when I see that Bitcoin is going to be stable for a very long time, I'd spend a portion of it to and invest it in other opportunities (like NFTs or DeFi)

Yeah, I spend it, I treat it like money. But the most I do with my bitcoin is pay with my basic necessities, like internet, electricity and water and some credit cards. We are lucky that we have a local exchange that supports this kind of payment and then some.

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

I also have some bitcoins that I have been holding for at least a year or do. Keep in a hardware wallet and for safe keeping.

Not sure if I have some price in my mind that I will cash out, maybe if we reach 6 digits sometime in December or early next year, I might be tempted to offload some.

I'm used to spending it rather than holding it. It looks easier, and not as heavy as having to hold back when the market is trending down. I don't own a lot of bitcoin every job I get paid with bitcoin I would convert to altcoins or fiat to invest.

Cool! We're the same because I'm using it right away to buy my necessities by converting it to our own fiat. I have a family, so money is really important to us now that we are raising a child. Before, I was holding a few bitcoins to save and invest in the future, but I got my girlfriend pregnant, so I had to cash it out and spend it. But now I'm gradually investing in altcoins so that we can save money in the future.

Why would you spend your bitcoin on stuff now when you can spend them tomorrow and buy more of the same stuff? And when tomorrow arrives, it becomes today and you wait the next tomorrow. I know it sounds confusing but believe me, bitcoin is not meant to be spent. You should hodl it. I know, I know, you're going to ask me, "but what If I need to buy a house? A car? I already became rich! may I sell now?" No. Why sell now and buy a house when you can sell next year and buy 2 houses?

Err it depends? Sometimes paying with Bitcoin seems to be the easier way out so I use it instead of other forms of payment. Well, it's mostly situations where Bitcoin is an option, an easy method, or probably the only method. Only in those scenarios would I actually spend Bitcoin and the rest of the time I just hodl. The amount I hodl isn't really part of something I'd use to spend for whatever I need most of the time after all, simple terms, I use it for convenience's sake. As for my hodl strat, that's it, hodl. I don't give a damn anymore about the market since if I do I'd start trading and stressing myself out.

HODL, I would NEVER waste my bought Bitcoins unless it was truly a need to use it for censorship-resistant value transfer. Because if I bought it only to merely spend it, then why buy it? Use the fiat for spending instead. It will be more efficient that way.

I keep my BTC and hope future BTC price will go up to 100k, no strategy here, i don't feel real BTC price will be able to go to 100k, because i have a good job enough to be able to invest in BTC Money and not need to sell them right now. I was determined to buy a house and enough to buy a piece of land if BTC price reaches $100k like what I want expectation.

What is the point of holding then if you can never benefit from being resistant to the temptation to sell? Bitcoin, an ever-growing currency, certainly incentives you to delay consumption, but you can't delay it indefinitely. Human beings, even those with the lowest possible time preference, cannot value the future more than the present, because there are some basic needs humans have to satisfy in order to live and survive. It is therefore nonsense to not spend your money if you are, for example, about to starve to death. The only reason I can think of you are not yet spending your bitcoin is that you have "worse" money to spend. Otherwise, if you lived off bitcoin only, it would be impossible to hold it without selling some occasionally.

Well, I didn't sell all the bitcoin and I'm not going to do such a thing but I just sold a little part of it to take profit and place the money I got in other markets, In other words, I just extended the basket of my assets to have a more safe investment plan. However, for people who didn't sell anything and they just hold in the long-term bitcoin is always profitable so I'm going to keep the main part of my investments at least until the next halving.

If we have bitcoin assets of course we have their own mission in spending the bitcoins that we have, for now the bitcoins we have can buy some potential altcoins that are currently weak price movements so that they have a high possibility to get maximum results if later the price increase can increase, but there are also some investors directly sell because the profits obtained are quite large, Then in this case we must be sure of our own targets and do not easily follow the strategies of others.

Everything is correct. There is an expression "tomorrow will never come"
Therefore, one must be able to live in the here and now. You must be able to spend and invest. You do not need to deprive yourself of everything that you think can wait until tomorrow. I will not speak too pessimistic, but if you are an adult and understand all the realities of life. The expected beautiful tomorrow may not come.
I, too, like most of the above unsubscribed, spend bitcoins as needed. But in parallel with spending, we must correctly calculate our capabilities so that with the coming "tomorrow" we will not be left without means of subsistence.

As for now, BTC is up by $17k this month and people are chill about it. Last year every thousand to a price was feeling like a breakthrough and celebrated by the community. It is interesting how over time our reactions to the price changed 🤔

Since I have a regular job, so I prioritize holding my bitcoins for a long time and also for reserve funds that I will use when I really need them and only spend them as needed.
and undeniably most people will do both which will make our life free from financial problems and for the future, so bitcoin is very useful to be able to spend it when we need it and hold the rest for a better future.

so I thought, I have a steady job but still need bitcoins for me to spend when there is a need, what about those who don't have a job or steady income.

Yeah. I spend my Bitcoin, but I ensure to reinvest, because I understand bitcoin is the future. When buying stuffs online, I usually like paying with Bitcoin, because is more easier to me. However, Bitcoin long term Investment is very good, Although, is not always easy holding Bitcoin for a long time. It requires patience and also someone with a strong heart. For example, with the current price of Bitcoin, some long term Investors will be tempted to sell their Bitcoin.

Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?
actually everybody is answerable to the question depends on how we manage our lives, really in normal circumstances i do spend some of coins if challenges comes across, but bitcoin is not meant spend sixty percent (%60) out hundred percent (%100) due to it inflation, holding a coin more especially bitcoin is like someone that is in huge investment but their hope when you have bitcoin.

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?
Actually if you spend your bitcoin for something ease you can't be regretful when you know properly that it will yield another thing positively, but a process whereby the outcome is negative, you blame yourself because of bitcoin increments in the societies

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
If you hold in a long time distance and keep on holding it, their is every tendency that the investor is looking for a particular target before it could be use for any other options..on my own i hold for some period of time and i have target, and when the target approaches then i will release the particular value i want to be release.

I do both, I guess others do the same.
Sometimes I need to convert my BTC to fiats for urgent needs. Cannot tell you what it is, but you must know I won't sell my Bitcoin if it is not necessary. Holding is the first choice, but spending some is possible at any time.

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
I am holding it for years and consider to sell once I am sure it is the best price of Bitcoin this year.
How about you? You also must be holding it for a long time and now you are waiting for the right time to sell. Then, you plan to buy again in the bearish season. Is it correct?

Title: Re: Do you spend your Bitcoin?
Post by: Hypnosis00 on October 18, 2021, 11:22:05 PM
I actually spend them.
I converted it to our local currency and then use it to buy stuff and pay bills. I think, that actually is going to happen. Coz for me, I'd considered Bitcoin as a form of currency, not an investment that is why I don't hold, unlike the others.

I know that some people are currently holding but sooner or later, they will still spend on it. Holding might happen during the bear season and I did sometimes, and so the others but usually, I don't hold them long, I sell them when I need some money.

Not hurting me that much to spend some of it and hold until I can. I do have a price target but they're too high and if ever bitcoin goes $100k then I'll still sell some.
Then the majority of bitcoin that I have, I might hold until $500k to $1M. Since I'm used to holding then I'll be targeting high prices already.  :)

Some are spent (for trading or converting to fiat for certain necessities) and some are for holding. But it is a short-term hold, commonly I will have some stages on selling BTC based on a certain rate.
And well actually I am planning to do long term hold for Bitcoin but not now. Maybe it will be better to buy when is the bearish time coming, maybe next year? Idk enough.

Btw, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are still illegal if used as a currency in my country. SO, it means that I still can not use Bitcoin for any transaction or using it directly with Bitcoin as the payment method to buy something here.

But it doesn't matter because it is legal as commodity so we can convert it on exchanges and use fiat to buy something that we need  ;)

Are you serious? If it is your mindset, which means you refuse the fact that Bitcoin is one of the popular digital assets in the world. I don't blame you to spend all your Bitcoin, but it is very unfortunate that you don't want to take advantage of the Bitcoin price increase. You must be aware that we are heading a new ATH of Bitcoin, most people already prepare their Bitcoin by buying and holding some Bitcoins since a few months ago. While you spend all your Bitcoin.

Nevertheless, not minding how little/large my Bitcoin is I wouldn't want to sell it, it's totally a no brainier to do so... I'm not in support of selling your btc op.

Of course, I should believe that everyone who has access to their Bitcoin spends when life issues come up or demand. Even those who hodl still have a way of spending theirs and may have a mechanism of buying back the dip. I doubt anyone can truthfully say they hadn't sold a bit of their hodling, ever, even with all the several spikes as ATH.

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?
I sell to meet up with what the economists call, "human wants" which are often insatiable. Isn't that why we all work or keep a job? If course, it is. No, I don't miss anything that can't be bought with Bitcoin. My country isn't that vast in Bitcoin transactions and all that, I simply convert to fiat and then spend on whatever item I want to buy.

A lot of things cannot be bought with Bitcoin yet here in my place. The most accessible things where you can use Bitcoin is either the mainstream coffee shops, fastfoods, and computer shops. I have tried it once just out of curiosity and successfuly bought a 2TB external hd with Bitcoin using our local custodial wallet. I can say the experience was cool, but I might not gonna spend more than that lol.

Hodl it for retirement plan. That's usually gonna be the case for long term hodler. I only have a little fractions, and I think It would become great in value for atleast the next 5-10 years.

I mostly hold mine and use others to buy fiat, which is basically part of the spending . Though I hope in the future I will be able to use it for buying other things, (preferably things that are local) and not just for buying fiat. I think the best way to spend it in this manner is through decentralized peer-to-peer means.. . And it should be within the Bitcoin Economy and Global Network.

I don't spend unless I really have to and that usually happens when I want to buy something and crypto is the only easy payment option.

But if I do spend then I buy it back asap.

I am holding and if things work out good, I am going to keep buying for at-least 5 more years and see where it takes me.

Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?

Bitcoin is basically a currency, and that should be its primary purpose, all who claim otherwise are doing great damage to the general perception created in the public that Bitcoin is just one form of digital gold.

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

Mostly on the purchase of digital goods, but also on every other occasion if I find something interesting that can be paid for with BTC. I honestly don't miss anything I'd like to pay with BTC that isn't currently possible - although it's all in the online store/s, it suits me perfectly, especially at a time of the pandemic.

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

I don't have a time frame for an exit strategy, because I believe that it is much better to have a BTC than to convert it into a fiat, which is worth less and less every day. If someone believes that Bitcoin has value today, then there is no reason not to believe in it in 5 years or later - but it is quite clear that there is a difference between those who believe in Bitcoin, and those who believe only in profit.

:-[ Got to spend my BTC last couple of months because of dissertations.
I wish I did not need to, the value is now way too high to buy. :'(

it's a shame to spend bitcoin at this time, because the market price is bullrun. now bitcoin has reached a height and has penetrated the earth's atmosphere, which is at $62k as the previous highest price. long-time investors are enjoying their success and starting to prepare themselves when to sell, the bitcoin market is very volatile at the moment.

personally, I sell and hold some of my bitcoins too, so if the price is good in the market then I will sell it. of course the money that I get to meet my needs and I think it is quite profitable. we have the choice to sell or hold the bitcoins that we have depending on the needs and thoughts of each. the assets we have are ours and we are responsible for managing them properly so that they can be profitable.

Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

Recently i need bitcoins for some personal expenditure so i've to sell bitcoin that i earn along with what i make from the part time job.
What i used to do before was trading with the bitcoins since i didn't had to worry about selling them in short term so i can ride on for a long run in a pair and make some profit.

Basically... I prefer to hold it, but if there's an urgent need/life necessities that can't be missed or sometimes I'm on vacation, I only sell a few, because holding is still the top priority.
Situations and circumstances of our lives make a difference in spending bitcoin in our life, just do the best because here Bitcoin is one thing that plays a very good role.

Yes! I will sell some if I need cash to use for my business, the rest I will keep and when the market drops if possible I always try to hoard more bitcoins for myself. Investing in bitcoin is also a job that helps us cover our daily lives so I'll never hold them forever. I won't starve to keep bitcoins, I will sell when it is profitable and buy back if it drops.

I personally believe that you must enjoy things will they last and you need to enjoy things will you can, so hording bitcoin was never an option because i feel like we don't know how long will bitcoin last or at least be relevant before another technology comes out, or whether we are going to live long enough to enjoy its glory, so i try to take advantage of it and use it whenever i can to enjoy my life because it allows me to do so, but that does not mean that i am spending it fully i have some saved up for a rainy day and i try to think of it as a insurance for a better future.

I think that a significant part of those who have bitcoins try to hold them, hoping for their further price growth and large profits, and spend them only when absolutely necessary. So far, this behavior seems logical.
I do not see a particular need to buy bitcoins for fiat and then use them as a means of payment, when not everything can be purchased with them. Bitcoins are either stored or sometimes converted to another cryptocurrency.

I hold mine, the future seems very promising for BTC so if I must spend them, I spend on very necessary things and that's on very rare occasions and when there's a dip, I try to acquire more.

Nah! I have used it as a currency for quite a while but now I'm just trying to hoard. Plenty of other cheap options if I want to use crypto to pay for something. With the fee cost and its ever-growing price, it is better to use it as a store of value than to use it as currency.

I do them both to be honest. But I mostly HODL my Bitcoin. Because I believe that it is the right thing to do. Whenever people choose to HODL rather than selling or spending most of the amount, they make a really good profit in the long run. So I spend some amount of coins only when I find a chance to pay with Bitcoin. Otherwise, I don't bother converting it into fiat and spend like that.

I do spend it up if there are things needed to be paid up and I do hold the rest which is good for long term prospect but well it isn't really that much of a concern if you do know on what you are doing.

We do have different plans in life which simply means that decisions would really be vary on each person. There are situations in life which you cant really able to avoid where you do really need

to sell a small part of your holdings which I don't see to be a problem.

Unfortunately, I never spend my Bitcoin to buy something.
So far, trading Bitcoin is the most activity that I am doing right now. For holding itself, I cannot still do it because of the limited capital that I have. But I enjoy this trading. Bitcoin trading can give me enough profits for my life and also for saving and for more trading capital.
Actually, I am worried about using crypto or Bitcoin for transactions because of its fee. Additionally, it is also because BTC is not legal in my country if used as currency for payment.

I wouldn't suggest you wait for the market to drop but the history is repeating itself, Bitcoin hit the ATH of 60,000+ around this time and played around that price range for quite some time.

And this year that ATH is broken, So watch out there's a good chance for Bitcoin hitting 100,000 $/Coin, I mean a huge chance.

I both hold and spend. 90% of my asset dwells in Bitcoin which leaves me with no choice than to spend from my holdings. But I ensure what I'm spending my coin on is worth the withdrawal else I rather starve my self of it. And I only withdraw from the profit I get from the bullish run while holding meaning in bear market I hardly go near my wallet except for pressing issues

If given a chance i will keep the HODL for another 1 whole year.

When I mined I spent all the time, mostly on upgrading mining equipment, household items, occasional altcoins, gyft cards and gave it away in small doses. I have a little bit left in old wallets and still purchase on Coinbase from time to time.

I did purchase 1 million+  Dogecoin to donate to several charities going on in 2014 and to use in Reddit's old tipbot ---->not sure how much I have left (working on that right now)

I purchased $25. in Shib a couple months ago  ;D (with USD not BTC)

All the way greed accompanied and started to spend my cryptocurrency holdings. Further it didn't stop, and it went beyond my limits. Finally lost out of gambling. Since yesterday Bitcoin has updated ATH, I predict that some people will start spending BTC to celebrate this achievement. I expect new posts to appear with the context of how they have spend some of their holdings.

Me personally will transfer about $100-200 worth of Bitcoin and convert to EUR. Hope that whole process will be quick, as I expect to buy a cake and order something special for Fridays dinner. And keep holding rest of my crypto.

bitcoin can reach its new ath, and this is a great celebration, because it is possible that the bullish trend will continue. on the other hand this is also a positive side for altcoins which are possible after this will follow the movement of bitcoin, therefore lucky for those who already have profit from this condition

It really depends on the situation. Personally, I hold and I spend. During the lowest position of bitcoin, I buy so that I can hold it and make profit over time. I'm here for the long term so, I seldom touch my assets. However, there are certain times that I have to, because I also have to buy the things I needed to survive. I cash out when I feel the need to do so. Most of my spendings are because of the necessities, but I also have spendings on luxurious things. After all, I also want to enjoy the fruit of my strategies and patience.

It's just a matter of discipline. If you want to spend, learn to set your limitations and boundaries so that you won't go overboard the intended budget for expenses. If you plan to hold, you must practice self-restraint every time you see Bitcoin's price soaring high. You can always enjoy today without sabotaging your future.

If we can make holding a habit, that was so easy for sure but the truth is that we can be all persistent to hold, it sometimes we got tempted especially when the price reaches its new ATH. Well, I am going to admit that I'd never long for a long time, maybe months but not years because just like you, in many circumstances that we can spend our Bitcoin even we don't like it. It is probably we don't have any option and I think holding never make sense if in ourselves we suffer a lot.

Investing in Bitcoin can indeed provide a large profit, if we can be patient holding Bitcoin until it reaches the target we want. We can buy whatever
we want with the profit we get from Bitcoin, I can feel the satisfaction you feel when you successfully buy a smartphone from the investment in Bitcoin.
Because I also managed to buy some things, from the profit I got from selling my Bitcoins, so I can feel the satisfaction that you feel too. And also
you made the right decision by not spending all the Bitcoins you have, because the price of Bitcoin will definitely continue to rise, so you can still
make more profit if the price continues to rise, and hopefully your next target to buy a new car can be achieved.

I will be hold the bitcoin and wait for the price increase then sell the bitcoin. Bitcoin is any time to up and down. It any time to change the price. So it not easy to guess the price. I will follow the bitcoin day by day. Then easy to analyse the price. It best coin the all coin. So hold and wait for the price increase then place to buy or sell the coins.

I am out of luck when it comes to short term trading. I found myself lucky only when it comes to hodling. I can't spend my btc because of strict crypto regulations in my country. For the past eight months (since btc crossed 20k) I m mostly on hodling side. I converted all my btc to stablecoin in April this year since then majority of my holdings are in stablecoin. Although even so, I will still hold bitcoin further and wait for its further growth. Although if I knew for sure that the price of bitcoin would fall, then I could sell now and buy it at a lower price. ;)

I could say that I fall in both the category. I hold my bitcoins until and unless I 'need' to spend it and there's no other way around.
Most of the times this happens only when I am out of my fiat balance and I need to buy something.
Whenever I spend my BTC it is either for buying altcoins with a good opportunity or to exchange it to fiat for personal use.
My only exit strategy is to keep holding bitcoin until I can whether it be for 5 years or 15 years or whatever.

When I need money for my basic expenses, I withdraw a lump of Bitcoin that would satisfy my requirement. If not required, I just hold the whole BTC in the same wallet and that is not time framed. But, I have really felt why I have used my BTC for my basic expenses. I should have held it as BTC is heading to $100k. Better to buy more BTC even now as its going to be on it peak very soon.

If you keep repeating less luck. You have to learn how to read the market so you will know when to sell and when to buy again. Short-term trading gives real and fast results, but it requires the ability to read the direction of the market. if you get a profit you have to get out and it is done over and over again.
Holding is the easiest, but you must have a strong target, don't sell before the target is reached.

I don't find any argument or wrong if we spend our Bitcoin or not. And I have to say that I was spending my Bitcoin not because I used to pay bills, but it was for another form of investment. I often sell them during bullish and reinvest when corrections have come. I'd never had the experience to hold them like waiting for the ATH because I'd take every opportunity to generate a profit even it was just 5-10%.

Sometimes I was in regret because of the sudden pump that I'd miss for I was selling it earlier but I'd realized that was life in crypto, we can't really make a perfect timing when to sell and when to buy.

Nowadays internet and cell phones are basic needs in almost all countries, so it is certain that almost everyone uses cellphones and internet everywhere.
That's why the popularity of crypto is so increasing, because so many internet users already have the knowledge to use crypto. But since not
many merchants accept crypto payments most people don't spend Bitcoin to buy things, they make more use of Bitcoin as an asset. Especially with
the very volatile Bitcoin price, investing in Bitcoin can generate huge profits. I also prefer to make Bitcoin as an asset than spend it to buy something.
Not to mention that there are still many countries that prohibit crypto from being used as a means of payment,  so there are more people who use
Bitcoin as an asset, because they don't want to break the law.

I try my best not to spend bitcoins. My mission is to gather as many bitcoin as possible. Bitcoin has limited supply and its demand is constantly increasing with the passage of time which means that its price will always increase over the long term. For this reason, you would never want to spend it when you know that if you keep on holding, it will increase in worth.

I have used my Bitcoin to make a purchase once, but that was a long time ago and what I purchased with it was just Airtime. Since then I’ve never had interest in spending my Bitcoin on anything, I rather just spend my Fiat, while I continue to hold my Bitcoin in my wallet. I do see a lot of people who wish that they can spend their Bitcoin on a daily, but that’s not for me; I won’t like to be spending my Bitcoin on a daily basis, that would be making expenses that I could have just made with my fiat on Bitcoin, and it is not going to be a good idea for me. I prefer Bitcoin as an investment and nothing more than that.

It's the same with me. Usually, I spend certain amounts of Bitcoin when the price is good and I try to accumulate when the price is low.
So far, It's a trade-off that I am comfortable with. I have made a lot of money and I've lost a lot of money. But, it all evens out.

Because even how I am careful storing my BTC and don't let it cash out or spend it, but once you have needed, you will always choose to cash out. But if I have BTC then I don't have a problem with the money, I always choose to invest and HODL for a long time. So, you are asking when do I spend my BTC, when I got a profit on it I usually cash out.

Let us cross out the price, because people look too much into the value, while not looking to its utility where it allows people to have the usual transaction without worrying any authorities. People think that Bitcoin is a money-maker while it is not.

Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

Like what I told in previous threads like these, I used to spend my BTCs back in 2017 (1 BTC = ~$4,000) in order to purchase books and educational materials during college. As someone who grew up with a single dad raising a family of 5, I was the least priority in terms of receiving financial support as it was focused more to my younger siblings.

Participating into campaign signatures provided me the opportunity to purchase books which significantly helped me throughout college life. After graduating college, that was the only time I started to HODL. I plan on HODLing until by the end of 2022 where I can finally cash-out some of the BTCs in order to purchase a 2nd-hand car.

Personally I do a bit of both.  I spend and save bitcoin.  Personally to me, I think that it's important for people to use bitcoin as a currency, even though many see bitcoin as just an asset and not a currency.  In my personal opinion I feel like bitcoin is only going to succeed on a mass scale is if it's also being used as a currency.

The real reason for the creation of Bitcoin is to use them as a decentralized currency and sometimes users tend to ignore that basic fact and view the market as a speculative asset. I do use Bitcoin to purchase goods and services and majority of the time i use them to gamble even though i use other alts as well, so yes i do spend the coins and i do accept your opinion that Bitcoin can scale only when it is considered as a currency first and an asset second.

I spend and also hold some until the price in the market is what I want, and I continue to do that with the profit I get. I know what my purpose of investing in bitcoin is so I don't have any thoughts of spending all of it to meet my needs, because the capital to invest is always rotating. so it must be smart to manage the assets that owned so that our investment is also smooth and can make a profit from it. that way, our needs can also be met properly.

if you hold

I do both for different purposes. such as digital services and digital goods I more often use bitcoin because of the ease of international transactions. and I prefer crypto over credit cards. I feel more comfortable and safe using crypto. and I am also a bitcoin holder. for the long term more like a passive trader. hold as long as possible.

honestly, i wouldn't sell my bitcoins for anything else except these 2 things, namely
  • urgent need
  • business development
So far, I have a business whose foundation is bitcoin. what I mean is, the business that I created has capital from bitcoins that I get from the internet. such as small inns, and others. So far, I still have plans to buy bitcoins from this venture.
So the business is accepting Bitcoin>|? is that what you mean with that ?

Cool business then mate, I have also business but only some online stuff that My wife is handling , offering to accept 5 major crypto currencies .

Actually the one that came up from my own stupidity and age of internet scammers.
It made me do anonymous Bitcoin escrow with small fee.
Now I only hope people will love it because it is in early stage but working perfectly and already have some positive feedback

Wish you best of luck with your biz! :)

For me, Spend and Hodl. I mean, I spend Bitcoin to buy another Cryptos. Recently here in my country, Bitcoin can't use for payment, it's totally prohibited, But use Bitcoin as Trading Pair for buying another Assets still allowed here.

Hodl? Yeah we knew Bitcoin now on Bullish moment and many people believe will reach 100kUS$ in the of this year. I just follow the trend right now and Hold is the trend.

And I also want  to be among of does who want to make history with Bitcoin by when reaching $100k. So I will hold Bitcoin till it get to the stage. No matter how dump it comes i will never give up. Yes, I agree. But in other conditions, I tried to trade in short-term for another crypto-assets. There's so many promising project out there and could be try to buy some of them.

Can you explain this more? As far as I know there is no way any government can restrict you from buying things with your BTC. I get it if people cannot trade Bitcoin itself (buy or sell for fiat),,, since exchanges and even individuals can be marked for monitoring by the government through ISP policing.

But what stops you from getting paid with or buying stuff with BTC? No government can block your Bitcoin wallet unless they shut down your access to internet :)

If there's no reason to spend with I guess one of the most ideal things is to hold your bitcoin we know already the potential of the bitcoin and we saw already from the previous years and for sure it is possible to have another wave of price increase but of course no one knows, for me it's better to hold some of the bitcoin and use the other half to the daily needs still it depends on your country if they are supported with the use of the cryptocurrencies.

I think it's up to the owner if they will hold or spend their bitcoin. If there's no reason for you to spend then it's better for you to hold it. It's very important that you have the plan on what to do especially if there's something bad happen because we can't tell. I spend my bitcoin to buy another cryptos. Sometimes I hold it because we know that bitcoin also experiences downfall. It is very important to have knowledge about it for us to know what to do.

If we have bitcoin assets, of course, there will be different ways to spend bitcoin, and for now there are many who sell their bitcoins and buy luxury goods and other needs because the price of bitcoin is currently very high, but there are also those who keep their assets and want to add to their bitcoins by investing, then in this case we have a different state, If we have one bitcoin at the moment then many items that we can buy then use our assets as needed and the targets we have set.

I kept my bitcoin for a year, but I recently sold it because I had a lot of items to buy, including another GPU. There are times when I keep it because I don't need money for something, but most of the time I don't need to sell it because I have an income that I can use to buy items I need to survive. Bitcoin is an asset we should hold; it will rise as long as enough people believe in it and buy it; it has a lot of potential, which is why believers continue to come to the crypto community.

I'm doing both. Holding some Bitcoins while selling some of it :).

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?
Just for some expenses here in our home. Maybe for some, it might sound weird or the like but at least that is what I'm doing. I would love to use Bitcoin to buy things that I like but there are only few merchants that are accepting it and on the other hand, maybe I don't like or need the things that can be bought using Bitcoin.

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?
I've been holding for 3 years already and I spent nothing to hold Bitcoins since I hold some of my Bitcoins that I got from signature campaign :) (best decision at least for me to keep some of it).
I'm not spending some of it because I believe that price of Bitcoin will go up soon and many are thinking the same as me. I have an exit strategy and if I exited, I will use that money to buy something.

It's not easy to hold Bitcoin for up to a year, and you can do that which is a pretty good thing. Usually if you manage to hold up to a year,
it is much easier to continue holding longer, because you are used to the volatile Bitcoin price. But everyone has needs that must be met,
and it is very natural to end up selling Bitcoin that has been hold for a long time. Because we are not holding Bitcoin forever, so one day
we will definitely sell it. My advice would be better if our needs are not urgent, don't sell the Bitcoins we have, because the Bitcoin trend
continues to rise from year to year. So the longer we hold Bitcoin, the more profit we should make. Because Bitcoin is an excellent asset
for long-term investments.

I am stick to the strategy of holding all mainstream popular currencies with good potential such as bitcoin, ethereum, binance smart chain, polkadot, matic. I just believe that Bitcoin will be much more expensive in the future. I think that it will be twice as expensive as now. I am going to hold at least 5-10 years more. But when I see a huge bullish market in 5-10 years, I will consider fixing some profit, but now I am just buying more on regular basis.

Am still holding my bitcoin for the price to reach $70k before the end of October, before I can release them for sale to enable me to achieve something good from the investment. Over some weeks now, bitcoin price is trying to hit $67k which is giving some bitcoin investors full confidence that the price will definitely reach $70 or $75k before the end of this year 2021 for those holder to make a good profits from their investment. According to my personal research, this is the season for bitcoin holders to earn well from their bitcoin investment without any regrets from the long term investment.
I nearly sold out my bitcoin, if not that I quickly carry out my personal research to know is better to hold bitcoin in this season we are than to spend them out for other things that will make me regret about such decision.

I do both spend and hold, I spend it for some activities such as gambling and trading. To be frank, I'm not holding much at the moment because I'll always sell it when there is chance for me to make profit. For example, my initial investment is $1000 and bitcoin price raises a lot that makes my bitcoin worth $1500 so I'll take the profit $500 and keep my initial $1000 to hold.

If that means only pay something with "Bitcoin" then I think so far I have used it for bills and buy the games on Steam through steam wallet and other stuff with Bitcoin.
Other than that, I convert some of my Bitcoin to fiat and use it on my daily life. Although I do appreciate if merchants are starting to accept Bitcoin anytime soon.

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
I'm hodling "some" of my savings and spend the rest of it.

It depends on my commitments. If no money is needed for my expense, I wont touch BTC but If I have a lack of money and indeed i require it, I withdraw what ever amount I require. But, I focus more on saving as much as BTC I can. At times I even buy BTC with my extra money whenever I have  extra in my hand besides the usual expenses. The right coin where one can invest with more trust.

Who knows if in Bitcoin reach 1 million Dollars each in the next 20 years, There's always a possibility that it can happen.
Right now  financial institutes are filtering out people from Cryptos so you can see mind games where Bitcoin might reach over 100,000 Dollars (could be more)
And Institutes use their Analytics bots on the majority of Traders,

I'm positive the Institutes have tools to check on how the majority of traders are trading.... like what trade pattern, trading settings, based on which indicator, etc.

And after a lot of people have been filtered out and institutes own most of the Crypto then they can do whatever they want.

Plus you know the School system is a scam and they can put whatever thoughtform regarding crypto, that's another story anyways.

Yes, I do.
I spend part of my coins to buy some cheap brand gift vouchers which bring me lots of free groceries as well as clothing and footwear. I cannot directly buy anything in India as of yet as any stores don't accept it and instead of buying with BTC from any online store, I'd just sell my BTC and buy with fiat and let the hassle evaporate out of my mind unless I'm so damn worried about my privacy.

It all depends on what necessities you have in daily life. If you need the money right away, then I'd suggest you to spend your Bitcoin. But if you want to make large profits, then "hodling" would be the way to go. To answer your question, I only spend a small portion of my Bitcoin for goods while "hodling" the rest at a cold storage wallet for safekeeping. It's always good to spend BTC every once in a while, to help contribute to the crypto economy. If everyone "hodl" their Bitcoin without spending it, how would the economy flow? What you do with your Bitcoin is entirely up to you. As long as Bitcoin is being put to good use, nothing else matters. :)

I would prefer to hold Bitcoin after evaluating the current scenario. It’s getting famous, its acceptance is increasing, and it will be the mode of payment for many things that we buy through fiat currency. So why would I sell it? All these activities will eventually increase Bitcoin's value.

There's nothing wrong spending bitcoin especially if it is really needed. You can't just hold your bitcoin for so long even if the prices are already pumping. You can hold it especially if you have the plan on when to sell it. It is very important that you have the plan in everything you do for you to not regret it. You can sell it especially if you already achieve your target goal of your bitcoin.

It depends on eachone's need. I do have bitcoin. I exchange a bit of bitcoin when i need money for my basic expenses but do not touch it when I dont need , I dont bother Bitcoin. It just remains in my wallet. Likewise, many here might have invested more on it and would be holding it for long time to gain more profits. So, it depends. Currency is for use. So yes one or the other day, its going to be used.

Due to the pandemic, many have had to give up their bitcoin deposits to be released because of an unavoidable need. you are one of the lucky ones, what you have is not sold all of it is only part of your savings. maybe those who still have capital will not make sales at all.

but lucky if you gradually continue to make efforts to save again, because holding bitcoin at any time can be sure to enjoy good luck. because bitcoin will always increase higher than its past.

You are very similar to my situation , i have been holding BTC for quite some time but recently the pandemic appeared so i used part of my BTC to be able to cover my family expenses and i am intending to hold holding BTC for a long time, that's why I saved and bought back BTC, like last time I said the value of BTC will definitely reach 100k$. someone's luck is very different from one another, you are certainly a very lucky person. why can i say that ? In the pandemic situation, many are experiencing difficulties because they are no longer working and everything they have must be given up for their daily needs, including those who actually hold bitcoin and other coins.

by repurchasing then the expectations you want may come true again, although we see that at the end of October the achievement of bitcoin is not optimal according to the prediction of an increase in 2017. but hopefully in November it will increase even more. we wait faithfully bitcoin can reach its highest price.

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?
I am a long term holder and I am having my personal target levels to start using most of my holding. It means I like to inherit most of my bitcoins to my kids so that they may enjoy the full benefits of my passion on bitcoin. I trust in bitcoin which is the reason I am able to save most of the bitcoins I am earning. If I open my target price levels of bitcoins, it may sound like unrealistic but I believe that kind of price levels will be easily possible for bitcoin in next 20 to 30 years.

I am sure many people here are having similar plans or might adopt such a strategy over the time but when I get into bitcoin and after realizing its true potential I decide to plan up for my entire life along with bitcoin holding. Bitcoin is not just part of my life unlike most people buy-hold-profit.

I don't spend the bitcoin I hold on to anything. My target is to sell dollars again and keep USDT when Bitcoin reaches one million dollars
This is a long way to go. You won't sell even if you see bitcoin reaches $100k-$500k? Those prices are already good to sell and you can still keep a lot from your holdings by just not selling all of it.

Although I manage money by selling unique coins when I need money a lot of the time, I do not sell Bitcoin.
But how long your 'unique' coins will last if you keep selling them and all you've got left is bitcoin? Are you also going to sell by that time even it didn't reach $1M at the moment?

I'm not selling my bitcoin . If there's any need of my money I focus on altcoin. Bitcoin is like golden goose  If you just loose it you can't afford it anymore. I will hold it untill 100k . For me bitcoin is a lifetime investment 😇.

Cause there's no need to selling my investment.
We do have our own personal goals in life and just like you, majority of people now are eyeing on accumulating bitcoin as much as they can since we do know its potential when it comes to future prices
which could really be possibly able to make profits on just simply holding but of course it wont really be simple as it sounds yet this would really matter with your emotional aspect and of course your
dedication towards your goals because there would be lots of factors will really be affecting your decision along the way.We do have our on ways and methods and spending
isnt really that bad specially if its really needed but if not then better to hold it off.

I try not to tbh :D. Just considering how much I'll regret having spent the bitcoin instead of just fiat, if the prices go up. I like to gamble for instance, and there are some options like https://time2play.com/casinos/bonuses/no-deposit/ (https://time2play.com/casinos/bonuses/no-deposit/) to do that with bitcoin, but I just know it won't be worth it. In general I try to always apply the mantra: What would Mr Money Moustache say if I spent this? :D https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/ (https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/) That easily keeps me in general away from throwing crypto or fiat for that matter away on silly things

I find also with time the pleasure I get from owning more and more bitcoin easily outweights the "disadvantage" of not spending it. I look at the increasing number and I get a super happy feeling. And the feeling is lasting. Whenever I've spent some, the feeling is just fleeting. It's a bit like eating candy. Very nice in the moment - after a bit not so nice and the regrets come.

Most of the time, hodl only! I have invested in bitcoin heavily in the dip and it paid me back with huge return. I don’t usually need fund as I have local business. When I need extra fund which I can't source from my personal fund and business, I have to sell BTC.
Back in the day, I had good amount of BTC but sadly I sold them too early which is why now, I don’t want to be nocoiner at all. I'm buying every dip, will hodl them until I need to spend for purchasing something.

I bought some amount of btc again but it not too much. Coz at the Fucking time i Haven’t enough Money for bought full 1 BTC.   I was sell 2 btc 1 year ago at which price.now 0.5 btc is not available with that price  >:(

If you hodl

I bought 0.3 BTC and my target 1 BTC = $200K. I will not sell my btc till hit that price.

But what stops you from getting paid with or buying stuff with BTC? No government can block your Bitcoin wallet unless they shut down your access to internet :)
i didn't mean that, if crypto is illegal in my country and if i bought something from another country to using crypto, then which product must be picked in custom firstly and it will checked here before i received, so it could be complicated to buy anything using crypto.

Personally, I wouldn't spend bitcoin in a way that would accept payment for it.  I can use them in a variety of ways for crypto related elements but spending to shop for online purchases it seems redundant compared to the level of confidence in using bitcoin for me.  Who knows the opportunities for Holder are more, in that future 100 years will be the last bitcoin mined.  I will be a millionaire with my bitcoin holdings.  Lol

I spend some of my profit, usually for daily needs or maybe if i gain much, i transfer some of my money to other business. Maybe selling something or another assets like property. Because i know crypto trading is risky and we don't know when actually we will face a losses in trading, so made a back up with real business can be options.

So I still do not get it. When you sell something with BTC and you ship it off to customs you have to declare the value in USD or whatever fiat anyway,,, never in BTC.

Which country are you from? Show me one single instance where the customs checks if things are bought with BTC/crypto. This will never happen in customs in any country today.

Buy something from anyone on this forum and I guarantee it goes through.

Spending or holding bitcoin is a choice depending on the bitcoin owner himself. It doesn't matter if you are not a bitcoin holder as you may prefer to be active in trading rather than investing long term. I believe that bitcoin holders get a much greater return on their investment in bitcoin if they have been doing it for a long time, they take this risk simply because they know that bitcoin's potential is much better as a future investment asset. There is nothing to regret because between traders and investors just do different ways to profit from bitcoin.

Nevertheless I firmly believe that trading bitcoin, spending them, and holding them is something that supports this bitcoin to survive as a decentralized currency as well as an investment asset.

In my understanding trading cannot be a kind of spending; it is definitely an investment because by using your bitcoin as a capital you are trying to make profit and it will be possible if you are enough skilled then you will not be losing your initial bitcoins which will remain as it is then how you are considering trading as a kind of spending.

At the same time if you are using your bitcoin for gambling then you must consider it as spending bitcoin because you cannot expect any return from gambling but the case of trading is totally different.

Of course I didn't spend the Bitcoin I had, I split it in half. Half I sell and convert to fiat and the other half I hold until the Bitcoin price goes up high, I really need to be able to enter and exit trades quickly and precisely to make a profit. This strategy is done because I think it is suitable for me as a day trade or long term if you don't want to miss the moment of rising Bitcoin prices.

That is nonsense and never happens. And they did explain it but anybody who has ever bought something from overseas will tell you, customs are only interested in 1> How much is the value of the thing you brought it 2> Is it allowed to be brought in 3> Is it taxable from customs.

This is what decides how much they tax you if any,,, they do not care if you used gold, dollars, shells,,, and have no authority to find out anyway.

I just spend my bitcoin few hours ago when the price of bitcoin hit $68k, that help me to make a suitable profit from my investments. It was not easy for me to make a huge amount of money from my investments because I nearly give up in holding until the price of bitcoin increase higher all expectedly in the market to surprise their customers. With the help of my personal research i carried out few days ago that gave me hope concern the massive pumping of bitcoin price is that is demonstrating now.
Holding for long is very easy to make a good profit  when the price of bitcoin increase or try to increase in the market to prepare the mind of the bitcoin users that profit earning is very approaching in the community.

There is no success alone with Hodl, Profit must also be taken by estimating the time and opportunity.

Bitcoin I bought about 3/4 years ago is still in my wallet. It has been around for about 4 years. Idle money I have after spending my daily necessities, I always convert to Bitcoin. Speaking of spending bitcoin, my initial target is $100K. I will fix my profit when the price will be reached the target once.

That was exactly what I usually do if there is the need to sell some of bitcoin to buy or pay for services and if there is no other alternative means, of course I prefers selling some to avoid borrowing some money to solve some of these essential needs, thus I never regret selling some of my bitcoin having solved some of financial need at my crucial time of need, though It is my wish to continue to hodl however financial circumstances wouldn't allow me to continue to hodl it.

I am not spending my bitcoins for something unusual or new things but I am spending my bitcoin for my living hence I am able to buy everything I wish to. If you are referring about spending bitcoin directly then I am sorry I am just converting my bitcoin into cash because there are very very less merchants are directly accepting bitcoins  in my country.

Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?
I just plan up to hold bitcoins for my entire life because I strongly believe into the bitcoin's potential. I already started using my bitcoins for my living hence I believe I do not need any target levels so that I will sell to use bitcoinss. I mean I already started using my bitcoins then I guess there will be no exit strategy is required.

Most often I spend my Bitcoin for gambling purposes, that's why I do not have to rely on merchants to use my Bitcoin directly. Since you don't have enough merchants at your location you can use your coin to take services from online, like I pay the bill to my VPN service provider via BTC.

Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

Very commendable initiative, hopefully only Bitcoin is perfect for long-term holding. Instead of depositing money in the bank, I also buy a certain amount of bitcoin every month to secure my future.

Two years ago i was interested in Grin (after the forum started accepting it as payment for copper memberships) but the project is still facing some serious difficulties about developement. Grin project was the first to use MimbleWimble protocol but few time later there appear more projects (BEAM and few others) with additional features which left Grin with a lack of developement.
If someoene don't know too much about the success factors for the project he hodl its token, maybe it's better to sell at the first profitable occasion and bet on BTC or at least betting on one of the top 100 cmc for safe investment experience.

I currently don't have bitcoins anymore. I only hold altcoins. however, i sold the bitcoins i had in the past for things like other investments, or FUD. Well, if you ask me if I regret it or not, I'm really sorry.
however, that is already past. other than that I exchanged it for other investments, namely property assets. although it's not finished yet, at least I didn't lose 100%. but still it makes me rethink what i did in the past.

I kept it, but on some occasions I also sold it for my needs. I don't spend it for sale because the investment continues to spin and if you still want to continue investing then we can't spend it. everyone has a different view of holding or spending their bitcoin, the important thing is that we can manage it well. bitcoin is a good coin if we can use it well to invest.
but if everyone will keep holding bitcoin then what would happen to the price? how can this be grow if not circulated?
this is a Money that in form of electronic so for this to have stay value it must be spent wisely.

the question is clear, how to spend or do you spend bitcoin and if you don't have then best not to post here because you want to be a Holder and not appropriate in this thread.

I never got a chance to spend my bitcoin ever; maybe because I didn’t buy anything that big. But I am looking for a new property and might use bitcoin for the purchase.

it seems, the current conditions, people who have bitcoins are very difficult to sell the bitcoins they have, except in a state of urgency.
rumors that prices could go as high as $70k to $100k have really been seen. this is different from a few years ago when bitcoin prices were still quite cheap. currently the price of bitcoin is very expensive, and tends to rise continuously. however, if it wasn't in a state of urgency, or business, I think people would continue to hold the bitcoins they own.
personally I currently don't have bitcoins. however, even when I own an altcoin, I don't want to sell it right now.

You have not even spend a single satoshi before but planning to Purchase a property ? well sounds believable  ;D ;D ;D

why not try using first buying at least a gadget then next to follow that property buying  ;D

Am just holding - don't have a lot so no point converting it to Cash and then it will be wasted on some useless expense. I have always considered Bitcoin to be a store of value, like gold, which I prefer to just keep and never sell.

Yes, the value of bitcoin will rise, perhaps up to eternity, however I won't be alive to see it - but the same thing is true for all assets that we keep for later - like house, land, gold even shares of companies that are ever green. Hopefully someday, someone from the family will take it up further and keep growing it as long as they exist.

obviously in a pretty good bitcoin situation, of course, if there is no urgent need, it seems like it would be a loss to sell it. Moreover, the current situation of bitcoin is indeed not very stable, because every time it reaches renewable ATH, bitcoin will make a very deep correction and to surpass the old ATH it seems now rather difficult to do.

the momentum that bitcoin has to do is really hit $70K first because this value hasn't been exceeded for a while, after that it just started to reach higher values and as you said and many have predicted that $100K will be reached by the end of this year, but there should be a move towards $70K first. we wait patiently for it because bitcoin will be able to do even though the time is very near.

Different strokes for different folks. It highly depends on one’s personal growth and nobody can dictate to you how to go about your wealth. Have a game plan. The game plan will determine whether to Hodl or sell and every other in between.

I had the chance to choose to stay in bitcoin, or go to altcoins. I made a choice in favor of altcoins and later regretted it. This was in the past, now I am trying to accumulate bitcoin, but I still have altcoins in my portfolio. My experience shows that holding Bitcoin is the most profitable strategy, I hope in the future I will have a completely, transition to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is tend for payments so yes I am spending mine if given a chance , like in some situation that i need to pay someone i know and instead of Fiat i am asking them to receive Bitcoin instead and with that they are starting to ask what is this and i am also  gaining chance to lure them learning bitcoin.
so i have two birds in one shot right?
though this not happens mostly because they are denying the chance of having bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not money. It's a value. The biggest mistake in the universe is spending Bitcoin for fiat money.

spend bitcoin just for needed.
but, most of my coin activity just store in wallet, hold for a long time, than sell when the price is good enough.
Bitcoin is not money. It's a value. The biggest mistake in the universe is spending Bitcoin for fiat money.
its no mistake if it useful for daily life. in the end, people will use investment salary for their desire. you have decision to upgrade the fund, or take it as your salary.

Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

Yes, this question is certainly on the mind of almost everyone who holds BTC.
On the one hand, it is very good for the market and acceptance if the BTC also arrive in payment transactions. But I can also understand that at the current time people are a bit more cautious. Nobody wants to have paid 300 dollars for their coffee in a year. That is a kind of question of faith that everyone must answer for themselves.

Hei, here where I live, does not have any option to buy things with Bitcoin or anyother crypto currencies. So what I usually do is, convert the Bitcoin into my local currency and purchase whatever is required. As Bitcoin is really reaching every corner much faster now a days, hope govts allover soon accept Bitcoin and legalize its usage so that every user and shop keepers transact Bitcoin for all means.

It depends on what you are referring to as Spending Bitcoin. Do you mean, spend direct Bitcoin on the purchase or spend out of your Bitcoin by converting to fiat?. Whichever way I believe that both are still spending Bitcoin and many investors including myself most have done one of this. I don't directly spend BTC but do take some profits whenever I am really in need of funds and mostly HODLing the rest.

Of course, if bitcoin has provided maximum profit, I don't think it needs to be held back anymore. If you always hold on, when can we enjoy the results of trading bitcoin? When we hold on to bitcoin, it means that we already have a desire to get bigger profits. But talking about the current price of bitcoin and compared to 2019, I think it's time to enjoy the results.

Well yes, I've been holding bitcoin in the past and used it to buy certain assets that will let my family live comfortable than we used to be almost a decade ago when I didn't know about bitcoin yet. And nope, I didn't regret anything about what I spent because it really helped me and family.
For now, I'm trying to maximize my portfolio again by holding bitcoin and altcoins, I do side tradings like weekly to gain something and put it back in BTC and ETH. I'm trying to hold as much as possible until the time that I needed to sell it again.

I have made a nice amount of investment into Bitcoin. And I spent some amount only when I needed to buy some things that I'd like or I'd need. Otherwise, I would never even think of spending a very small amount. Because I'm HODLing it for a long time and I have a price target to sell some amount when it is reached. I believe that setting price targets is the best by the way. It prevents you from being greedy for more.

Yes.

What I like to do though, is that every time I spend some bitcoin, I also buy bitcoin with fiat, at least the same amount, usually more.

So, by using this technique, I am actually increasing the amount of bitcoin that I have every time that I buy something with bitcoin. Win/Win.

Spending isnt bad as long you do able to accumulate more than back! So its up to someone on how they would really be doing it because spending nor accumulating is on someones preference and of course it is on someones financial capacity. Spending on various useless things
is such a waste thats why you should really be mindful on how you would spend it or simply hold it for the future.

if you spend Bitcoin you don’t miss out on gains, but on potential gains, but you also reduce potential losses (aka risks). Some people cash out, some people trust and hodl. I pay with bitcoin to spread the word!

invest bitcoin to seek more profit, why spend bitcoin for consumptive and useless. it's good to hold bitcoin for a long time or you can just sell it when the market price strengthens and buy again when the market price is correcting like the market price this week. a lot of us can benefit from being able to trade at the right time instead of having to spend bitcoins for consumption of consumer goods.
