Title: RIP Colin Powell
Post by: OgNasty on October 18, 2021, 01:02:45 PM
Colin Powell was a great public servant and his death will surely bring sadness to many. He died due to covid complications, and was fully vaccinated. This will surely add more fuel to the fire that vaccines don’t work, as Massachusetts also reported 45% of their covid related deaths last week were fully vaccinated.

The vaccination rate in MA is 68.9%. If 68.9% of the population is vaccinated, and the vaccines have no effect, then you'd expect 68.9% of people who died to be vaccinated.
If only 45% of Covid deaths are vaccinated, then the vaccines work. Obviously a simplification, but the principle is sound... especially as in general the more elderly and vulnerable have a higher vaccination rate than the young and healthy.

His death is being labeled with the nuance that he advocated for the Iraq war, because bad politics apparently mean you're suppose to celebrate a man's death. So since he was fully vaxxed, the attack won't be that he's a Covid denier, just a war criminal that got what was coming to him. Had he not been vaxxed, I guess they would have just juggled the reason for disdain, gone back and forth. I can't tell what would've been more important to his critics.

The important point about the death of anyone is where he will stand in the resurrection:
1. Died in faith in Jesus-salvation... resurrected for Heaven;
2. Died without faith in Jesus-salvation... resurrected for Hell.

8)

Vaccines still raise a lot of controversy, and this incident will certainly increase the criticism directed against vaccines. What is the benefit of vaccination? Is it safe? Are there side effects that cause other diseases more deadly than Covid-19? All these questions are still asked by people and the majority of them are afraid of getting the vaccine.
There must be more serious studies of the efficacy of these vaccines and the effects they can have by a panel of medical professionals to get adequate answers to these questions.
Everyone is afraid of Covid-19 and everyone hopes that these vaccines will kill the virus, but unfortunately so far we do not see encouraging results.

So much for this thread being a respectful obituary for someone who was a very fine soldier...
I for one salute his memory http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/war/a-soldier-saluting-smiley-emoticon.png (http://www.sherv.net/)

Instead the anti-vaxers have once again taken a sad occurrence and are using it to promote their views. Shame on you!

Powell had an opportunity to do something other than utterly lie to get the U.S. into yet another war for Israel.  He should have resigned instead of prostituting himself in front of the U.N. and the world, or better yet, used his presentation to tell the peeps what was really going down.

Rot in Hell, Colin Powell.  Yet another shameful piece of shit soiling a uniform.  We need more Gen. Smedley Butlers and fewer sell-out pieces of shit.  Actually, it's way too late now.  To many Colin Powell and not enough people with some back-bone.  At least Gen Butler bought us an extra 50 year or so, but the bankers and fascists eventually ruled won of course.

If Powell really did fall to the fascists bio-weapon and the story isn't some bullshit gas-light invention, I would stay that it's a pretty fitting end for him.

re: tvbcof's bile, ^^
And the fact that Iraq had been invading its neighbors and killing their citizens should have been ignored? Just how long do you think you would have lived in that country if you were spouting off like you enjoy doing? Ans: Not very long at all, you'd be among the 1st lined up against a wall shot and then hung from hooks.

Ja it turned out that Saddam was bear-baiting the US and rest of the world regarding bio-weapons but nonetheless something had to be done about him. I take it you would rather have let Saddam run rampant like the murderous lunatic he was?  At least Qaddafi learned his lesson and took Libya away from the road to destruction he had been leading it down.

Sometimes truth can be inconvenient. The inconvenient truth here is that the vaccine did not work to keep Colin Powell healthy. I understand that doesn’t align with the agenda of many here, but nothing I post alters the inconvenient truth. That is, the vaccine will not save you. The government will not save you. We are all going to die. Some of us choose not to live in fear clutching ineffective vaccines.

And if he had died from the Flu would you then say that flu shots are ineffective? Guess what - NO vaccine is 100% effective but most certainly do improve your odds.

Again, RIP Colin Powell, Apr. 5, 1937-Oct. 18, 2021 http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/war/a-soldier-saluting-smiley-emoticon.png (http://www.sherv.net/)

Not necessarily. Granted, the vaccine is only effective up to a certain point, so no matter demographic you're dealing with (old, young, sick, healthy), break through infections still occur and so will death. mRNA vaccines are particularly leaky, so it was never expected that any of these vaccines would be a catch-all solution.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/18/health/multiple-myeloma-cancer-colin-powell.html

Powell had cancer effecting his immune system, particularly white blood cells, so the vaccine could have been ineffective at producing antibodies in the first place. Or possibly, his immune system was not strengthened enough even with the vaccine to overcome a Covid infection. So combine his age and preexisting conditions, the outcome is predictable, just not representative of all those that are inoculated.

I guess people are just used to thinking that vaccines prevent them from getting diseases. It's hard to make people realize that polio, measles and rubella vaccines all prevent them from getting those respective diseases, but that it's still perfectly reasonable to still be at risk of dying from COVID after you've taken multiple COVID vaccines.

I don’t think people making the point that someone died from Covid who was vaccinated and therefore vaccines don’t work have a valid point, but I do think that OgN is correct that antivaxxers will make this point.

Powell had cancer and was especially high risk. I think he may have been receiving treatment for cancer, which would put him in an especially high risk group.

The data does show that Covid vaccines reduce the risk of negative outcomes when there are breakthrough cases.

Unfortunately, public health officials and elected officials are especially bad at communicating the risks and benefits of getting vaxxed, arguably to the point they are unqualified for their positions.

Just so you know, I served in uniform with Powell for Gulf-I.  Gulf-II and it's 'WMD' bullshit was one of the most obvious gas-light psychological operations pulled on the sheeple until the covaids scamdemic came around.

We who had eyes to see had some hope for Sec State Powell as one of the only _possibly_ honorable persons in Bush-II's pit of snakes.  His capitulation to the fascist dark side was a kick in the teeth.

I don't particularly argue that Saddam and to a lesser degree, Qaddafi, were not pieces of shit, but it is important to note that the reason why is that it is the only types of people who are installed as 'leaders', by the banking cartel and their minions (e.g., the CIA), of their little sectors in the first place.

I'd say he got what he deserved in the end. The bible says "You live by the sword, You die by the sword". He advocated for a war in Iraq saying Sadaam has stockpiles of Anthrax clutching a vial in congress. Yet he didn't get the memo or was guilted by the same mainstream media machine that pushed the wars in Iraq that are now pushing the vaccine and you're the problem because of climate change (the war on carbon based beings: YOU). So he got Vaccinated with the real Bioweapon and died like many other prominent black men like Marvelous Marvin Hagler (boxer) and DMX (rapper). No wonder black people don't want to take it and even BLM of NY is protesting against mandates.
