Even though the Bitcoin price is still 4.5% away from reaching the meme-worthy $69,000 level at the time of writing, this is not stopping Tesla CEO Elon Musk from tweeting about the raunchy number.
The eccentric entrepreneur posted a picture of a couple staring at the prices of Bitcoin and Ether from their bed, pushing the two largest coins slightly higher.

As reported by U.Today, Bitcoin peaked just above $67,000 before bulls lost some steam. It is currently changing hands just below $65,000.   
Notably, Musk missed the opportunity to mention the $69,420 price tag that could potentially break the internet, according to some crypto influencers.

The number 420 is now commonly associated with Tesla after its boss tweeted about taking the company private at $420 (and got sued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for doing that). April 20 has since been declared Elon Musk Day by Tesla’s cult-like community.
The number 69 also appears to hold some special significance for Musk based on his earlier tweets.

I just hope that community will pick that shout and as usually, push Bitcoin price even higher. Let just observer how Elon Musk magic works again and he starts another Bitcoin rally. He was rather silent about crypto lately, and it is time for him to make another more.

I think we can expect either new trolling, either new loud announcement about crypto and one of his companies. Maybe some new connections between Bitcoin or SpaceX or Neurolink this time.

Bitcoin price has passed $60k already when he started to tweet back on bitcoin so even without him, its not surprising that bitcoin will still reach that amount soon as its set to reach its new ATH. Of course, many investors have been excited about the comeback of Elon because his tweets will help bitcoin to push through to its new ATH. But for me, Elon's presence is not as good as it seems because i know he has his new desires again to try manipulating the market, but hopefully this time bitcoin won't be influenced and may drop its price drastically.

There are many "checkpoints" to pass, 100k, 200k, 250k, 500k... we need patience. A lot of it. Up-and-down-and-up-and-down. The price will move in both directions a lot until getting there.

The term "420" and "69" had already been an internet sensation long before Elon correlated it to their(companies, etc) own self-interest. I think what he doing is just emphasizing the term for his own gain, and the public love it. We can't condemn it directly on him, I know what he did have some issues with SEC. but IMHO, I just can't think it's pure manipulation since it is just a freakin meme!

Bitcoin does not care what Elon does, it's the holders that do and gives the influence they appear to have on the price. When everyone stops caring about top personalities' opinion, the market would have entered a different phase.

Seem convenient for Elon to make those silly comments now that btc is firing up and hitting a new ath soon, he will probably claim credit for when btc hit new ath, between eth already at $4200, he should pick a more higher number.

At least he is a person who has a big name and is recognized to be able to influence the crypto world. A few months he had success with Doge but maybe not for now, he was starting to expire like McAfee. For experienced people this is the usual fundamentals but for newcomers maybe it will affect mental psychology and will buy. We just need to take advantage of moments like this.

He's back to take action with bitcoin now so its good for people to stop believing on him since he already show his true color and he's no totally unto bitcoin. So the next rally will come again and that can run to $69k-$70k. Can't agree more. It's us who previously made Craig Wright popular by discussing his false claims. This year we made MUSK a crypto giant,  whose single tweet causes BTC to crash from 50k to 32k. We need price stability more then ATH in crypto market, if we want to see it as mainstream payment system.

Strange thing happens. Elon Musks magic is working opposite. Previously every single time he mentions Bitcoin, its value immediately grows. But instead, today its value has dropped down. Yesterdays ATH could be just a bluff, as today we are lower than we were October 19. If this is it, yesterdays growth was the only thing Bitcoin is capable of, I hope that right now so long awaited alt season starts.

He's not giving any hypes now, the market moves freely as it depends on the demand and supply. In fact, we can see a huge surge during BER months and what we have experienced now is just the same as before. For people who accumulate Bitcoin last month or during its huge fallback, it really makes sense as the price was almost doubled this time (might be more).

This is normal with the bitcoin price and I always noticed this when there is a massive pump there is a corresponding correction a few days later.
There's nothing strange for me, it is a natural way of bitcoin moving. Elon Musk maybe I guess trying to make a hype again and I think most people who had followed him now are in the FOMO. It's almost there. We know that Bitcoin price is just rising up again and only in a few days, it can really give a good increase.

Something like he deserves some respect but not in a way that we have to believe him either. He got his market influence but that was before, ain't happen this time as (most) of are already realized how he ruin the market and wanted to manipulate it.

It's quite funny that Elon Musk puts so much focus on these number. Most of the younger investors might watch out for such memes, but the average investors probably not. To be honest he probably smoked something when he came up with the name for his son. Would be interesting to know how many of the billionaire crypto investors are smoking weed. Also would a bitcoin price of 69,420 USD be a bigger milestone than going above 70,000? Personally I prefer round numbers, the same goes for stop losses. I try to look at more fixed numbers. For example, buy when BTC is below 30,000 USD or consider selling when above 100,000. For technical analysis the barrier of 69,000 might be important, but I think we are still in a general upwards trend. Let's hope the reverse 69, 96,000 is the new target for Musk.

Tweets like these have the potential of shaking up the whole community and his supporters, thereby increasing the chances of BTC's price increasing again.

Regardless, I do see that the price of BTC will increase over the next few weeks-months. Like the trend that happened last 2018, during the last quarter of that year, price of BTC skyrocketed but it subsequently fell until the second quarter of 2019.

some call out $130k. and you read their social media/forum/texts history and you see they bought in at the last ATH of $65k and crying when it then corrected.

I think 69000$ for bitcoin is a very small target. Because price of bitcoin already hits 67000$. And now the target of bitcoin is big. I think price of bitcoin will hit 100,000$ in near future. Future of bitcoin is very bright. Because its adoption is increasing day by day. It will impact on the price of bitcoin. I am holding bitcoin for long term.

It is a small target for long term but for short term, we are looking at the price movement and if it will be hit this year. IMO, there's no reason to doubt that bitcoin may hit that price as it has recently made an ATH which I believe it's enough to make the market be bullish until the end of the year.

It was a similar trend we had with John McAfee, now deceased. Whether we like it or not, Elon is still influential in the scheme of things as a crypto investor.

However, $69k is too low price for Bitcoin. It will have price above $100k from now to 2024. If you invest in Bitcoin with price under $20k, you can consider to take profit if you are fearful that Bitcoin won't be able to achieve price above $69k.

Anyone, including me can paint a drawing and saying bitcoin to 74,000$. There is nothing special about such predictions unless you tell the time period when this target will be reached.
