Title: How can I see the Ethereum gas fee?
Post by: hack3rcon on October 30, 2021, 04:12:14 PM
Hello,
How can I see when the Ethereum gas fee network is low? Is https://blocktivity.info/ (https://blocktivity.info/) a good resource?

Thank you.

I am not sure about blocktivity didn't use nor familiar with it. Usually, we compare gas fees here https://ethgasstation.info/ (https://ethgasstation.info/). So most likely you might check here for the estimated gas fee.  You might also use Etherscan to check the current estimated gas fee as well, here is that https://etherscan.io/gastracker (https://etherscan.io/gastracker)

I don't really understand this source, even I just found out about the site you pointed out, and still to find out a credible gas cost is from here https://etherscan.io/gastracker you can see from the 3 options there are low, average average, high and every second the gas is always changing and erratic so for now the gas cost from Ethereum is very expensive with an average cost of around $20.

Aside from the website that has been mentioned, there's also https://ethgasstation.info/ which you can check from time to time if by the time you've checked those websites and they're not showing any info.

It sometimes happens and you can't tell that they're all stable at all times. That's why you have to see another website just like what I've mentioned so that you have another reference for the fees.

I think @raflesia and @COOLCRYPTOVATOR are very clear in terms of recommendations and it would be better to check there than on the site you mentioned, because I don't know what site you mean and have never visited it either, but looking for gas is really https://etherscan.io/gastracker (https://etherscan.io/gastracker) is the best and this is a reliable :D

It's a matter of trust how we see the correct level of ethereum gas cost from the source you shared, but as far as I know the gas cost can also be seen on eterscan, where we often see this cost and it is almost 80% correct and there are so many different gas charge levels that can be we'll see there, but for now the cost of ethereum gas is still very high compared to other gas costs.

If you don't want to be complicated, you just need to write in a google search "Ethereum gas" it all appears and you can see it. So I think the problem or question you are looking for has been found. But, still https://etherscan.io/gatracker is the relevant one. You can monitor it at any given time, and steal time or low gas moments. Always use notifications to get low gas notifications because that will give you a chance to make deliveries.

I first visit https://etherscan.io/gatracker here for gas fee transactions. Then I visit this site https://ethgasstation.info/. I generally use the 2nd site. I usually use trustwallet for my transfers. Because metamask or something can hang. MEW is already a separate grind. But my transactions with trustwallet are immediately approved and processed. But if you have alternatives, you can use them too. Keep this information in mind.

In my opinion, this is not a good resource for tracking ETH gas price. You have already been given links to two good sites where you can easily do ETH gas price tracking. Always check gas price before making any transaction.

ETH gas.watch is a popular one but honestly I'd advice to stay away from uniswap, they are just milking people's fund on their, it's costs more to buy coins and tokens through uniswap compare to when sending ETH from your wallet to another

Thank you.
The most reliable and popular resource is Etherscan https://etherscan.io/gastracker. Here you can find information about fee for a quick transaction (high fee) and if you want something more budgetary, you can choose an average price or even low, but be ready for waiting long before your transaction will be confirmed. Ethereum is the most expensive network, so you can consider alternatives such as BSC and Polygon.

You can use all the information as your reference to make transactions, either buy or sell assets on the network, but one thing I think should be done carefully and always see when the time is right because gas costs for this network are different in value from BSC, Polygon Matic, and others because still affordable.

Hello,
Thank you so much for all replies.
I visited https://etherscan.io/gastracker  (https://etherscan.io/gastracker) and it shows me that the current Ethereum gas fee is "$13.XX", then its mean that if I want to swap some Ethereum based tokens, then I must have "$13.XX" Ethereum in my wallet? Any amount that I swapped or transferred, just cost "$13.XX"?

You can see the guidelines for Ethereum based transaction Gas fees here mate : https://etherscan.io/gastracker because it is a very logical site for you to monitor Gas fees transactions on the Ethereum network.

Had you read the post exactly above your post? I am quoting that again.

I am wondering why did you repeat the link https://etherscan.io/gastracker ? I already mentioned it just above your post exactly. Why do you think you should post the link again? If you need to write more detail then you may simply post or post with my quote. At least you should read a few posts where you are going to post.

Anyway hope you will not repeat post like this.

Yes, you must have a maximum payable gas limit for the activities you do. If you want to make transactions in large quantities, $13,XX gas fee are still within reach. But if the transaction is small, you can wait for cheap gas fee. Usually when the gas fee is cheap, transaction become slow because miners will prioritize transactions with higher fee.

In this site https://etherscan.io/gastracker is also more valid if you only want to know how much the transaction Gas costs at any time because the site I share is also an official site to check the transaction Gas fees on the Ethereum network.

The easiest way to know the current gas fee through Gwei status is, You can just go to coinmarketcap website and click on "ETH Gas" on the home page top of the page. You can see the current gas fee status and the time it will take to complete a transaction. I am also using this function to know the ETH gas fee for my transactions.
