Title: What are the rarest crypto collectibles you know of?
Post by: Abiky on December 03, 2021, 02:08:21 PM
I want to know which are the rarest crypto collectibles in the physical world. Knowing that crypto's been rising in popularity, physical crypto items will only become extremely valuable in the long term. I own a few Lealana coins, peeled Casascius coins, a Satori and BTCC Mint poker chips, and some Moonbits. But I sometimes wonder if there are other collectibles that are extremely rare.

If you happen to know of any, please let me know. Thanks in advance. :)

a few makers have made 10 coin mintages, like CryptoImperator

there are a few other collectibles that have a qty less than 10 produced out there... some non-coin items and art pieces

there's also that giant BTC/ETH gold/silver coin that Elias (elianite) put up for auction a while back.. that is a 1-of-1 :D

If we’re going by mintage and not many can have one kinda rare I’d say the crypto imperator 1 million doge is up there. Just 10.

There’s a whole lot of very rare cryptocurrency collectibles that I’ve come across over the years, and I will add a few more below but the two off the top of my head that I personally own are CoinMonk coins (India made) and custom Satori Chips..to name a few for right now. Have many more I could add but figured I'd just start with what I personally own..

There has to be some balance of the original availability and scarcity. A 1/1 publicly auctioned is very different than a private sale imo.
Then there are things like crypto imperators silver 100k doge /25 and the doge .5oz gold 1m doge /10. AFAIK they were only offered to the original buyers of the 10k doge coins CI produced.
Not sure how those 2 compare to other "scarce" collectibles
Aka, the distribution method is very important.

Clay Cast Crypto with his 3 to 10 piece handmade and loaded beauties should fit in this list. Every bar is unique and not simply pressed by a provider.

Both of these beasts were the largest made by the mint at the time in these metals and required special tooling.  The blanks were also extreme difficult to source and had to be created special for these projects.

Yes. My most favorite is the 1 Million DOGE CryptoImperator coin. If I had it before the DOGE craze, I would've been a millionaire by now. Anyways, a 10 coin mintage is extremely low. This collectible will definitely become much more valuable in the future due to its high scarcity. It's better late than never, so I'm accumulating other collectibles with the hopes of getting lucky in the long run.  :)

Wow! And yet I've thought Bitcoin-funded solid gold coins were the only ones in circulation. That Platinum NastyFans coin is such a beauty. If only I could afford it, I'd treasure it forever.  :o

I also made them in 2oz & 4oz gold versions. The 2oz I believe had 10 made and the 4oz had 5 minted. You don’t see them offered for resale very often but I know one of the 4oz versions was sold this year so they are out there and changing hands whenever one is offered. I had even planned to end the collection with a 20oz gold version which has had all the design work finished. The problem is that the minting and seats cost is so extreme that I think I’ll have to be pushed into it by someone who wants one and doesn’t care about price.

What about "The Times" newspaper referenced in the Genesis Block? for any collector
this has to be a must.  I think I have seen 2 for sale here on the forum in the past, the
rarity would be the fact they dont come up very often and its a mystery as to how many
survived from 03/01/2009

Everyone has they own rarest Bitcoin collectable items. It's very hard to say which one is the rarest item, what makes them rarest? or Valuable ones? I am trying to say the importance/important is if you look at something and you see the value on it, you are right and I am sure that on the world is other people and they think the same and will give you more for it. But of course you should check his background, why he is doing art, how long he is doing it and if he will practice/learn and keep creating in the future. All the artworks I see in the comments are very well done and they look cool, I personally love the cryptoimperator coins :) Poker chips are also cool but if we talk about physical artworks you can hang on I will leave the link of my thread here: btw also on bitcointalk. I am OG cryptoartist since 2017 :) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5362071.msg58020517#msg58020517
Have fun collecting and thanks for support because with collecting you are supporting artists :) Thanks

This is a very interesting topic.

As a kid I grew up collecting stamps...and was always fascinated with the very first one made in 1840. Though not that rare in terms of how many were made but for me it was the first made.

So when it came to Bitcoin collectables I tend to want to collect...the very first...for historical reasons...such as Bitbills...Casascius first day loaded coins...first crypto stamps ever made...first crypto stamps ever made per country.....first hardware wallets....first Bitcoin paper wallet printers......all becoming exceedingly hard to come by as time goes by.....and rarer as well as who knows how many have survived from being tossed out by their owners.

I think from all my collectables the rarest on terms of impossible to find are metal bitbills and a sheet of unloaded bitbills.

Really enjoying all the replies here! Fascinating collectibles  :)

From my modest and more recent collection:

1. Alpen Error Coin - Series 1 coin w/ Series 2 hologram

2. 1/1 Alpen Cas Hybrid Coin loaded with unknown/mystery amount from Geo's WTT thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276794.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276794.0)

If you are seeking a more recent/current opportunity, squirrelbits by liquidoptions are usually sold in very limited public releases due to the efforts involved; usually 6-12 per set thus far.

What about that large coin I think one was made that was a bitcoin and eth coin, where the private Kelly's were hidden by emeralds and rubies.  Anyone remember that coin?

I've also heard that Microsoul coins that were actually loaded are hard to come by too.

Yes this coin!  If memory serves me right I don't think it ever sold.  Very cool design, I always liked coins with embedded stones.  Makes for a nice cross over of a lot of different things.  Think I was loaded with like 1 bitcoin or something high which makes it hard to sell now.

I remember seeing it on eBay for some time.  It did end up selling, and a member of this forum/collectibles community owns it, but will leave it up to them whether they want to reveal their ownership or not.

I agree though, I really like it.  I like the idea behind it, the hidden keys behind gems deal etc.  The creator is a complete moron, but a cool coin :)

Imgur has turned to shit.  What really sucks about them is their app. The fact that you cant get the bbcode from the app directly is a joke.  Not being able to get the bbcode from the app and they no longer have the web version so you can't do it that way either is just bad business by them.  I am now using https://imgbb.com/ and highly recommend it. Makes things a lot easier than Imgur ever did.

Not as valuable as Casascius ::) nor the other coins you have mentioned but they are still quite rare and hold some sentimental value to me. The first 50 or something like that were gold plated and I'm a proud owner of one of them.

Best part? they could be bought anonymously with ONIONs (but you still had to share your home address to be able to receive them :D).
