Post by: BTCFlower on January 19, 2022, 03:00:53 AM
Yo estoy intentando comprar BTC por Wyre y pide la dirección de mi billetera, entonces yo voy a Electrum creo una dirección para recibir, copio y pongo en Wyre, pero habla "Not found". ¿Cómo arreglo esto?

In english of google translater:

I'm trying to buy BTC via Wyre and it asks for my wallet address, so I go to Electrum and create an address to receive, copy and put in Wyre, but it says "Not found". How to fix this? Sorry, don't know english.

I've tried the site and it will return with the same error whether the address is Legacy, Native Segwit or P2SH.
So, the issue isn't with Electrum but Wyre's service, try to find an alternative.

I never used Wyre but you can try testing with address from some other Bitcoin wallet, for example Bluewallet or Wasabi for desktop, and if it's not working again you can be sure it's problem with Wyre.
Contact their support for more help or even better use some alternative options, but I would be careful with all of them after Crypto.com got hacked big recently.

@BTCFlower
Where are you from? I assume you don't live in the US.

I am asking because I know that Wyre has a partnership with Ledger where it's possible to buy crypto through Ledger Live. However, only citizens of the United States can use Wyre for that. It's not even available in all States of the US. Maybe that's the problem and not the type of address or wallet you are using.

Ledger has this where you can check your eligibility (https://www.ledger.com/buy-wyre#eligibility).

4 days after OP initial feedback and I can confirm that the error Not Found still occurs here[1]. I've looked into Reddit and Twitter and it's just odd that there doesn't seem to be any user inquiring for this behavior ... Are we making something wrong?
Also, to complement Pmalek reply, you can follow this[2] guide if you're interested (and edible) in buying crypto using Wyre (within the Ledger Live). It appears that it's the only current alternative if you really intend to use Wyre as an exchange ...

A second reason why you can't buy crypto directly on https://pay.sendwyre.com/ is because you have to register an account first and go through KYC.
Ledger's documentation (https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021144618-Buy-crypto-with-Wyre-?docs=true) mentions you have to go through identity verification before you can buy with Wyre.
Address and identity verification is also required according to a source posted by Edge (https://support.edge.app/support/solutions/articles/8000076487-how-to-buy-with-wyre-).

Begs the question what is the purpose of the https://pay.sendwyre.com/ website in that case?!
