Which one is better  YouTube or TikTok.

I prefer YouTube because more usefull more creative content
it's just  large catalog of high quality videos. ;D

Youtube is closer for me. There are a lot of educational and really qualitative videos, I like it

But to me it just depend on what you are actually doing on both site
Forexample
If we take a look at youtube, it gives a detail information on many things going on in this life
But Tiktok alot of things are yet to be executed there.
So if you are new, you can use that opportunity and share alot of new things that are not there.
But if you are just there to search for important topics.

I'm not sure that we can compare these two things. On Youtube you can find all kind of videos. While TikTok is mainly for enterntainment stuff. And personally I think that watching most of TikTok videos is waste of time. I don't know, maybe I'm too old for it, but watching all these stupid videos isn't for me.

               It just depends on what kind of content creator or viewer you are. Some who does extensive or long duration contents or needs such contents prefer YouTubers le the opposite prefers tiktok. All in all, both have their own usefulness and are widely used by the masses. But if I really have to choose though, I'd go for tiktok simply because it is easier to navugate through and easier to upload contents olus the many useful filters and other functions.

I'm glad I never installed Tiktok. CCP spying aside, I think most of it is kinda dumb, mostly just kids trying to do "challenges" and claim their 3 minutes of fame. Youtube does have silly creators as well but as long you keep away from those, there are plenty of interesting channels to follow. On top of my head is Tasting History, Townsends, City Beautiful, etc...

Choice will depend on what you seek online, if you like to learn and still be able to be entertained, YouTube is the best, their services satisfy a broader audience unlike tiktok that is mostly for entertainment. I personally do not use tiktok and do not have plans to, but a decision for me to not use youtube means a decision to not learn.

TikTok I have watched and to be honest I'm not really a fan of short entertaining videos, or to say, I don't really am attracted to entertainment videos, I prefer YouTube because of longer videos on topics which I find constant stimulations for longer period of time be it anything but pure music and dance :)

From what I've read, TikTok has an innovative algorithm that almost anyone can get publicity, without too much effort. Despite that, I find it a complete waste of time, an application simply to kill time doing nothing. I'd rather watch YouTube videos, which could also refer to something informative, rather than waste my time roaming through hundreds of pointless videos.

From my point of view, it's another fad that will eventually die on its own, similar with Vine or Snapchat.

YouTube is the best because, YouTube can download a full video of the your choice while Tiktok can't download  full video of your choice. You can search video on YouTube..and it has best quality of hd.

YouTube is more popular than Tiktok, most children in this generation know YouTube but they don't know Tiktok.

The only good thing about TikTok is that it makes Youtube look great. And youtubers - even comment trolls - looks like brilliant geniuses compared to the crud that inhabits TikTok.

Also people who have two eyes and choose to use like 10% of the field of vision shouldn't be posting anything on the internet to begin with.

It's depend on your mood, if have bad mood tiktok is better because many joke video inrelevant which make you thinking the world is over tomorrow.

They're both one in the same. Tiktok will heavily censor information depending on how controversial it is, but it's also a chinese backed app. Youtube would be better had it not been for COVID censorship, but they have a monopoly on the video uploading platforms and their competition sucks so it's all we're left with. I'd advise you drop both of them for your own sanity.

Most of the contents that I've been seeing on TikTok are with those breasts and challenges.

I'm for YouTube and I've been using it daily for entertainment. Tiktok is also for entertainment but I don't like most of the contents that I've been seeing there that are also posted in other socials.

I don't have an account there but I've been seeing videos from there when other people posts it on socials.

Tiktok is widely for entertainment. Most of the TikTok content I have seen so far are short dance videos of girls whining their waists and short comics videos. Nothing else. I would prefer YouTube to TikTok come any day. Youtube is the correct deal for me when it comes to entertainment and getting informative videos. Any videos of my choice are gotten from there just by searching for it

As for me, both of them like it. It's just that I think YouTube is better. Because the content in it is very diverse and more complete. Sometimes what we are looking for on TikTok doesn't exist, and only exists on YouTube. And YouTube has a lot of long-form content. Of course TikTok also has long content, if the content is divided into several parts.

I love YouTube. I think I could get away with watching only the free version of YouTube for my entertainment. Granted I currently consume content from most streaming platforms as well, but YouTube is always my go to as you can find anything from sports highlights to compilations from your favorite tv shows.

Tik tok on the other hand I’ve never used, so while my opinion of it probably doesn’t matter, I imagine it’s just young girls and boys doing stupid dances from what I can tell and I have no desire to waste time watching that.

The funniest part for me is that I do not watch TikTok videos, they are short and lively but I am more busy with work. I prefer YouTube because I still do not know how I can separate it from myself, I do check a lot of reviews and informative videos on YouTube far more than on TikTok, I use it for many things, even some YouTube links are posted on this forum during discussion. There is no good reason I can prefer TikTok than YouTube, it is not possible, I most prefer YouTube which is better, more official and yet informally used.

If you are a creator you might probably choose TikTok.
However, I really don't like TikTok. It is more of a waste of time for me. Useless content with no real value. On the other side, Youtube is floaded with videos that offer knowledge and add value to the viewers.
This difference is also depicted in the average ages of each platform's viewers. TikTok has younger viewers than Youtube as they want more entertainment than knowledge.

I prefer YouTube and find it more detailed,informative and you can get videos of all topics,subjects, sports. Tiktok on other hand is more like entertainment, dancing funny videos like it is just restricted to that and I find it waste of time.  As everyone is busy nowadays we all prefer to utilise our free time in something productive.

I chose YouTube, because the videos are more complete. There are lots of useful videos on YouTube. Not only that, YouTube has also become a place full of information.

No doubt youtube is more detailed and informative as compare to TikTok, videos on YouTube covers small details than TikTok that are small clips and are now limited to entertainment and dancing and funny clips. Both of them have their fan following depending on moods and taste of people.

I never knew about either TikTock or Jewtube Shorts until my kid started to watch them.  They are both utter mind-poison and it rather quickly started to turn my kid into a much less pleasant child.  I switched her over to Beavis and Butthead which, by 2023 standards, passes for the height of cultural taste and intellectual rigor.  30 years ago I could never have imagined that that would one day be the case, but it is what it is.

At least we have Masha and Bear...for now until the current mainstream controllers of the goyish content uptake figure out that it is there, is slightly impacting their plans for a full Idiocracy (with a lot more trans-pedo-fagotry and kiddie grooming), and sanction it as 'Russian Propaganda' or 'hate' or whatever.

I also prefer YouTube, there are clips of great interest and video sizes that suit everyone, but TikTok is like fast food that does not benefit much.

It is that there is not even room for comparison to the extent that you do it, who is better, just because a service makes video does not mean that they can be fully compared.

TT positioned itself in the competition for vertical videos in a way that YT did not, but in the long run YT is taking a segment there, then it surely ends up dominating.

Talking about the quality of the content is another story, but as a platform in a global consumer sense, YT is better.

I totally understand the addiction for relatively short videos that go directly to the main point and are entertaining at the same time. It's not all dances and challenges, there is ton of good and fun content.
But at the same time it's totally spyware and China is not even denying it. Because they don't need to, it's not like people care or are against it so much they would leave.

So yeah, i have installed it into my other phone i am using to test stuff to see what's the fuss is about and i get it. But not in the million years i would install it in my actual phone.

Also youtube has way more diversity in content and ton of professionally created material.

Preferably for me Youtube this is because YouTube have been here long enough and have provides a lot of information on several topic in a virtual manner that are shared by different YouTubers, even though tiktok is trending, it can't meet up with the standards youtube have set and how many databases both have.

So we can't compare the two of them as their are not in the same category and since YouTube has existed longer than Tiktok it is easier for them to gain the trust and admiration of many users.

I’ve never used TikTok and quite frankly it always seemed very stupid to me. My generation thought it was embarrassing to be caught dancing dumb on video, so the whole thing is beyond me. Seems like a way for pedos to watch little kids dance if you ask me. Add in that it’s a spy tool for China and TikTok might be the worst app ever created in my opinion. Definitely nowhere near YouTube.

The Chinese don't allow their people to watch TikTok.  Zuckerberg doesn't let his kids on Facebook.  So I've heard anyway.  I would guess that most of my former peers in Silicon Valley would not let their kids near Youtube Shorts.  Seems to be a pattern here.  The content is retard-chow, and 'you are what you eat.'   That's even before the woke grooming component which is truly disturbing and amazingly effective, so it seems as I watch society evolve.

Probably it is because I have never used TikTok and I grew up using YouTube. I also do not like the fact TikTok is a Chinese company which likely has links to the Communist Chinese Party.

In the end, it is kinda about who one would rather to have one's personal information and (in my opinion) the Chinese government have politized in a more brutal way the mass surveillance of their population, to the point I would avoid to give them any about me if possible.  At least in the United States, there are some legal mechanisms to try to stop or slow down Authocracy meeting Technology.

For social videos and entertainment, I prefer TikTok but for serious vedio contents and development videos, YouTube is far better than TikTok.
Most promoters prefer YouTube due to its professionalism and quality video contents that is why most influencers use YouTube to promote good projects related to Bitcoin and crypto.

And these are being consumed by most kids and teenagers, that's why it's no good when I am seeing those videos there. Not all are just for entertainment but I do see some that are for educational. But that's it, the majority of the content there is for trends and just for fun and that's why there's no essence that a kid will get there but useless content. Even those kids have made their lives end when they're following the trend that's why some of the content makers there are irresponsible and making that place bad for kids if they ever consume content there. While both platforms are now vast, I also prefer YouTube. I may not that be old enough to understand the trends why the younger ones like TikTok so much but I do like YT more.

YouTube is good and more detailed plus you can get things on every topic but tiktok is little fast and more of entertainment I think so .

I agree with you YouTube is good social media app. We can get all type of information from this youtube beacuse Creative content is available on YouTube. YouTube gave job to thousand of people earning money for creating videos. According to User interest YouTube artificial intelligence work on it and first page of YouTube of every person is different from other according to user watch history and interest. If someone search for cryptocurrencies related video YouTube shows all types of matches which are wish of uers YouTube only shows that information that this person likes and very similar to Crypto. But TikTok is not this type of social media app and not filter information like YouTube. YouTube content is helpful for our society and every country

I prefer youtube between TikTok and youtube I can get a lot of knowledge from youtube very easily and when I go to search option any video is informative fun educational science friendly There are all kinds of videos I can skip which increase my knowledge a lot and widen the scope of knowledge, but TikTok only gives comedy there are many educational videos, but it is not available to me, I have to watch through the whole apps one by one, but I don't have to watch what comes one by one, my YouTube is the most important thing to search and watch what I need.On YouTube, I can listen to music whenever I want to know anything sir to make it and to know any kind of news or other things my YouTube is very important.In my opinion YouTube is very important for the advancement of today's world it helps people to gain their knowledge, and also it is a place of great income many YouTubers are earning millions of dollars.But TikTok is doing it but not all of them are very few people who are doing it are more and those who are doing it are quite a benefit here is that TikTok is very important to become a celebrity here any person owns You can be a hero-heroine in the world, you can create your own attitude, desire, desire and stay there, but I personally like YouTube, I don't like TikTok very much, it's my personal opinion.Both are important for income, but I will put YouTube first.

YouTube has enough to learn from if you are the type that loves knowledge and entertainment. As fro TikTok I see it as something irrelevant that wouldn't add any value to me because it is all about some video that looks fun sometimes and most people will spend their time looking at this videos and wasting their data. I believe that TikTok is not for me because it doesn't worth my data. One man food is another man's poison,I deleted the TikTok app in my phone because the moment my neighbor gets hold of my phone it is tiktok that she will open first.

It is not good for you since you have not been able to learn anything from it. but it is a different case for another person. Surprisingly there will be some people who have learnt some kind of Sturgis from TikTok. If it is not a tech knowledge, social knowledge also counts for something because that is what some people are seeking to learn.

I prefer YouTube to TikTok because it has more educational materials and it supports files download in many formats. I also noticed that TikTok zaps alot of data than YouTube.  ;D

Each of them is peculiar in the context of use: For me, when I feel like relaxing and in need of something to calm myself down, I just flip through my TikTok and enjoy those short videos. But when it comes to educative content, YouTube provides a wide range of channels that allow you to take online courses in an organized manner. But the two are unique in their ways.

While the format of content on TikTok has also been adopted by YouTube because they now have this 'shorts' feature. A place for all of their short videos is categorized as shorts just as TikTok has and the same goes with Facebook for having their reels. Before it was like not allowed to view videos from TikTok and it's just like exclusive for the app but now, I see that they've adopted also the desktop viewing and even you don't log in, they're allowing guests and visitors to view video contents as long as they have the links of it.

I’d say there are also a lot of quality videos in tiktok. You just need to follow the right people. Tiktok is helpful for those who have very short attention span. There’s a lot of information/tutorials found in tiktok in the form of one-minute videos. You can even send videos to your friends without leaving the app which is something you can’t do in youtube. There’s also a lot less ads in tiktok compared to youtube or even if there’s a lot, it’s not noticeable.

I'm not sure if this post is important or not, I mean whether it has any useful essence. but if I have to answer honestly, I have never downloaded the TikTok application. In fact, when this application provides payments to users or content creators, I really am not interested at all. Here, I don't want to give a bad stamp to TikTok and its users. However, based on my personal point of view, Tiktok does nothing more than display useless things. there are many teenagers who I don't understand what they are doing, in fact most of them are just looking for sensation and using it to make money. and actually there is nothing wrong with that, in fact everyone is free to like what they want.

Youtube, for me is a little better. I can even get the information I need, whether for work, entertainment, education, even other positive things. unlike in the 2000s, when we want to dig up information, or learn something, we have to look for it in related forums or from an article. Even then, you have to really pay attention and read it. Now everything is instant, we can even easily find the information we want. a little easier, but IMO the impact makes most people lazy and less creative. because, we can easily find everything from YouTube. What I don't like the most is that now YouTube also has a lot of useless content just to get as much interest as possible, no matter whether it's educational or not, even misleading or not.

Does anyone here also remember some application called "Vine"? It was quite popular back in the early 2010s.

It was a quite early TikTok and (if I recall correctly) it was developed by the same people behind Twitter (now rebranded as X).

They shutted down the project, unfortunately, but had they continued to give it support then Twitter would have had the control of what could have been the leading platform for short videos on this planet.

Imagine how different things could have been: Elon Musk owning both Twitter and Vine.

YouTube and TikTok both have their own unique advantages & appeal to different audiences. YouTube is a well established platform with a vast range of content including tutorials, documentaries, music& entertainment. It allows for longer videos & offers a wider variety of genres and topics. TikTok is known for its short, creative & engaging videos that are often focused on trends, challenges & user generated content. I personally preter Youtube but I’m an old fart. I think the youngsters prefer Tiktok.

It's not fair to compare them since they serve different purposes 😏. To me I use them for different purposes. TikTok serves as a source of relaxation for me, and occasionally, I use it for advertising. While it's mostly for fun, YouTube plays a more valuable role. I primarily use it for educational purposes and believe it offers an opportunity to earn income as well. So, the perspective and intended use truly shape their significance in my life. It's a draw I understand them both.

TikTok inflates view counts and overpays creators because it is a con to get you to install the spyware onto your phone. People using the service have been bamboozled and their data stolen. YouTube is a great platform with lots of amazing creators that underpays them and censors the hell out of their content. At least it isn’t spyware though.

I like very much YouTube for its useful and creative content and its extensive catalog of high-quality videos. Both platforms have their own strengths and cater to different types of content and audiences, but I like YouTube.😊

YouTube is more preferred for me because they sensor certain videos that are not proper for public and kids viewing which makes it more major so that why visiting YouTube you can watch with your kids and not be worried about the content of the next video. It also generate alot of traffic for YouTubers, you get to see popular personalities from every works of life. Although TikTok has some of those features but yet to be patronized by popular celebrities. Most celebrities don't throw their videos in TikTok because they know it doesn't have wide coverage like YouTube.

YouTube is the closest we have to a time machine. You can watch a video made in the 90s on YouTube and that's not even the best feature on YouTube. The best feature for me is the fact that you can learn anything you want on YouTube.
I've taken so many online classes on YouTube. I've gotten help with many problems on YouTube be it maths problems, coding problems, or how to fix something on my phone or laptop. I can make a long list of the things I've learned on YouTube.

There's also the fact that I can also be entertained on YouTube. Watch funny videos and have a laugh. To me, that's all TikTok is about. Watching videos on TikTok, however interesting it might be just doesn't work for me.

There's no way TikTok can be compared to YouTube.

Well for me Tiktok is not a app that I like to you very much. I think it is for kids and for people to show off themself. If I see a funny clip or something like that sometimes it will be on Tiktok but I do not take this app too serious.

But Youtube I like to use almost every single day. It has many purposes for me, educational and entertainment. Like if I want to find a answer for something or for something helpful I will use Youtube. There is videos for almost everything on there.

TikTok is like of entertainment with its short video durations whereby it deprives a further expression of the video but YouTube would have it all in details and of course it tends to entertainments and a visual learning capacity.
However, it depends on your want so I goes on TikTok if I must have a fun view and if I want an educational view then I gets on YouTube.
But if I must make a recommendation, YouTube is go due to its qualities and potentials

On YouTube, you can watch quality and educational content, download full movie of your choice. But tiktok for me will give you short fun videos that will make you spend hours on the app. I prefer tiktok.

Actually the TikTok algorithm is crazy, propably one of the best out there. I heard that after the first 10 swipes it more or less knows exact knows what you are interested in

I prefer YouTube because I'm more often online using a desktop PC. While TikTok can be accessed on a desktop PC as well, it's primarily designed for mobile devices.

I also favor YouTube because the videos offered there can have longer durations, allowing for more comprehensive and detailed explanations on the topics I'm interested in. For short-form entertainment videos, YouTube Shorts is a feature that is not far off from TikTok.

TikTok is undoubtedly popular, but it's not for someone like me who is not so well-known. Maybe someday, if I have a change of heart, I'll become a TikTok enthusiast. Who knows if that will ever happen?

Definitely YouTube. First of all, because YouTube has many and many useful videos, while Tik Tok is more app for fun. Yes, TikTok may have some good channels which are about science, tech etc., but even such kind of channels is affected by short format videos, which simply don't provide opportunity to reveal fully the theme. I read some articles about dopamine which we gain through the scrolling of our feed - it's crazy, modern social media destroys us, it makes people lazier and quick dopamine kills motivation and desire to reach something. So, I am sure, that long useful videos on YouTube are better than memes in Tik Tok.

P.S. I don't mean that you need to quit watching memes or funny videos, but I really believe that people should decrease amount of time that they spend on it. In nowadays I see that short videos negatively affect society. If we speak about new crypto guys, we can see how lazy they are, they want to receive everything fastly, without putting any effort in it, what is wrong and impossible. Because if you want to become good in something, you must be ready to spend long hours, ask questions and step by step go into the direction of your goal. However, loads of people just want to find the button "MONEY" and press it.

P.S.S. And as practice shows, I am not alone who sees this bad effect of short videos on productivity, mental health, career etc.

YouTube is far better than tiktok. With YouTube you can learn anything from the confort of your home. It provises more good user interface than tiktok. It has thousands of useful information which enable users to learn new things without going for offline study. One can also download good videos

Both are different types of content creating platform. I will vote for YouTube because YouTube make long videos interesting videos and watch which type of videos I want and found some video which is helpful for us. Beside you can see TikTok which create content with full of crinch. They just made content only for entertainment they are is no learning thing nothing else ect. But in YouTube I am not saying there is not crinch content available in YouTube but if you proper use it you will get content for benefit which you want so I will vote for YouTube.
