Summing up the Community Awards 2021 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382917.msg59069671#msg59069671), I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who took part in the voting, as well as everyone who supported this initiative. Well-deserved congratulations to all winners and nominees representing a wide variety of areas and thanks to all those who continue to make Bitcointalk better. Below is information about the results of the event and prizes.

Needless to say, public recognition is the most prestigious award, but we also want to present the winners with modest prizes sponsored by Cyrus & Cryptios. All winners who have not refused the prize will be sent a collection item (anyone who believes that their privacy will not be violated and those in whose countries international delivery works). Unclaimed prizes will be put up for auction and the funds will go to support the BitcoinTalkShow.

2021: franky1, hilariousandco, n0nce, TryNinja, Hhampuz, LoyceV, o_e_l_e_o, lovesmayfamilis, Foxpup, Ratimov

As for the rest of the prizes, in the very near future, the representatives of Sportsbet, ChipMixer and BestChange will contact the winners to clarify the bitcoin address. Since Theymos refused the prize, according to the previously established rules, the main one goes to o_e_l_e_o TryNinja! I want to remind you that this year the main prize will be a VIP tour for two, to an Arsenal or Southampton match, including a corporate box, accommodation and flights.

Thanks to all those votes in the 'Discovery of the year' category. It's a big honour for me, especially since I only joined in the last 3 months of 2021! I really appreciate the positive feedback that I get around here, the great discussions, great people, and of course lots of knowledge that is shared for free.

Of course thank you also to icopress, GazetaBitcoin and all of the sponsors. :)

Congratulations to all the different categories' winners! :) 0:)

Edit:
ChipMixer was really fast to send a 5mBTC voucher; thanks a lot again, really generous!
BestChange sent awards today! Thanks so much for 5mBTC.
Sportsbet Steve sent it just an hour after sending the address, thank you guys!

Big congratulations to the winners of this year's competition, perfection doesn't happen in a day. With time I believe similar competition will be less controversial and have more participation from forum members. I was surprised similar controversy araise again this year but hopefully the next won't have them again, we should learn from mistakes. I was in the forefront of the previous controversy and wasn't proud of the assumptions it lead to as they were never the intention, stayed away from repeating similar mistakes and this year atleast we can boldly say the winners do deserve the awards due to their contributions to the continuity of the forum.

Less hate more love, kudos to the organizers, sponsors and participatnts. Hopefully this becomes a tradition we keep yearly on the forum. Congratulations Hhampuz, and thanks to those that voted for me.in that particular category, I appreciate you all verbally just as I should have done before.

Thank you for all the voters, who made this competition bigger and more fun.
Big kudos to the organiser, @Icopress, who managed to take this task to completion in such a difficult times for him.
Thanks to @GazetaBitcoin, who joined as “little helper”.
Also thanks to all the sponsors, who added a little incentive in the competition.

Regarding myself, second year in a row without winning anything. Last year I was close to the top, this year I was nowhere close to getting a prize. Shame on me, I need to work more for the “bitcoin geek” category (the category where my results where less awful.

Hopefully next year the competition will be bigger, funnier and louder!
Icopress, you get to be ready!

Thank you very much for organizing this icopress. I can in no way express how I feel about what's happening to your country, so I'll just quote theymos on this:
In all of the many years I've been admin, I don't think that anything has touched/disturbed me more than knowing that there are many veteran forum members whose countries are currently at war. It's insane that we have several people here who are literally under artillery bombardment and are being forced to defend their homes from soldiers. How is humanity so messed up that an entire bureaucracy and chain of command filled with hundreds of thousands of people are helping to commit this atrocity? And while Ukrainians are the biggest victims of this war, of course, the average Russian person is a victim too: economic cannon fodder in Putin's war.

[3] Last number of the hash of these 10 blocks will determine the winners.
What happens if the same number comes up twice within the same "basket"?
Blocks and baskets archived (https://archive.ph/Yz09L#selection-4039.0-4039.112)

It is noteworthy that some users confidently win their nominations for the second time in a row: hilariousandco, Hhampuz, o_e_l_e_o.
I moved from Bitcointalk Ninja to Golden Feather. I highly appreciate the votes, I love this description, and I fits what I try to do very well:
Golden Feather
The award is presented to the participant whose name symbolizes trust and wisdom.

Note: There have always been users on the forum who stand out from the crowd in writing style and objectivity, those whose posts are always pleasant to read, and discussions with them bring satisfaction.

Congratulations to the winners and for everyone that ended up in the runner up list! For the winners I assume that it's a great feeling of being recognized by the community within the winners category - do wear the title with proud! My biggest "thank you" goes for the tremendous effort done by icopress and GazetaBitcoin regarding setting up the contest, counting the votes and publishing the results in a proper way, especially considering the current state of affairs that the world has gotten into.

It's great to see the community being aligned with such activities, here's hoping next year we'll be able to introduce more fresh "blood" into the mixture! I know that it partially doesn't depend on us, but if we reach the right and motivated people I'm sure they'll eventually come by our forum in a more permanent way.

Regarding myself, second year in a row without winning anything. Last year I was close to the top, this year I was nowhere close to getting a prize. Shame on me, I need to work more for the “bitcoin geek” category (the category where my results where less awful.
Don't put the pressure on yourself fillippone, there's no shame in not winning anything. I think I can safely say that you're probably one of the most recognized users around here, no one can take that from you. Just keep being you - which is something that nowadays is rare - and I'm sure you'll get there eventually  :)

@BtcTalkShow : Newly arrived to the forum and already with a big prize - indirectly - in your hands hein? I'm sure you'll make good use of it, looking forward for your report of this event on your channel 8)

Congratulations to all the nominees who won this annual event, you really deserve it.
The participation of the participants continues to increase from year to year and it proves that the event is a success and attracts a large number of users regardless of the final destination. I agree about some changes that need to be improved next year which have already been discussed in another thread, thus something better is expected for next year. Thanks also to the organizers and all the sponsors.

First of all the biggest 'congratulations' and thank you should go to icopress for the success of yet another Bitcointalk community awards, thank you GazetaBitcoin as well for your assistance in the success of all of this, i am pretty sure it wasn't easy as i know we all have busy schedules in real life, so to make out time to ensure this was a success basically means you love Bitcointalk and that is indeed appreciated by me and other users as well i am sure.

Congratulations to all of the winners, i do not take this to be just a mere voting, but a valuable recognition in the midst of many in the forum, without the participants and their votes this would not be possible too, so thank you to all who participated in one way or another, and i hope we have many more reasons to unite as a community and have 'fun' such as this and in other ways possible going forward, thank you all once again.

Looks so cool to you, I'll have to see it a whole year in your private text before next year's voting results are announced.  :D

A little comment about the voting results for whoever voted for me. Actually I'd rather be voted a spambuster than the Discovery of the year. It's much more worthy of my efforts as a spambuster so far [even though spammers hate me so much], but it's a voter's right even though I really didn't ask for it. Thanks to those who voted for me, at least I know that some people are watching me too. Congratulations to all the winners.

Thank you icopress and Gazeta for running the competition again and congratulations to all the other winners.
Thank you to CryptioS, Sportsbet, ChipMixer, and BestChange for offering up such great prizes this year.

I will repeat what I said last year: I humbly accept the prize of Bitcoin Geek (for the second time), although it still feels somewhat strange to be voted above people like Greg Maxwell and Andrew Chow, who are obviously far more knowledge about bitcoin than I am, not to mention all the other Dev and Tech regulars such as pooya87, ETFbitcoin, HCP, nc50lc, mocacinno, and more.

Since Theymos refused the prize, according to the previously established rules, the main one goes to o_e_l_e_o! I want to remind you that this year the main prize will be a VIP tour for two, to an Arsenal or Southampton match, including a corporate box, accommodation and flights.
As I've already discussed privately with icopress, I am honored to win, and extremely grateful for the very generous offer from icopress and from Sportsbet. I would love to be able to accept, but unfortunately my well known position regarding privacy and my personal information prevents me from doing so since I would be required to dox myself to be able to accept. As I understand, TryNinja is next in line, so here's hoping that he will be able to accept this great prize!

Also, looks like we are just about to start drawing the winners for the first lottery basket!

But seriously, I have no words for how gratifying it is to at long last be recognised in this way. Are the winners #4, #5, and #1 or #24, #55, and #31? I guess the latter would make more sense, because the last digit could be repeated and we could have a situation where #4, #5, and #1 would be chosen multiple times.

In that case, the winners of basket two are poldanmig, aysg76, GazetaBitcoin instead of Strongkored, bhooscream, and Xxmodded.

the whole thing seems somehow familiar to me from the 'squadra azzurra'... :D
sorry f1 - but that had to come out. i hope you understand the humor  ;)🍻
A strong Azzurri squad is synonymous with a strong Juventus. You can't have one without the other. No strong core of Italian Juve players = no fun. They say for a reason that Juventus is the only team that has won the World Cup twice.

For #4 to win, the last two digits (ignoring letters) would have to be 04.

Congratulations to all the winners, I can't wait for the next voting next year ;D

I'm touched that so many people voted for me. There are many people who deserve to be called "heroes of good" more than me, but I will try to live up to it.

I decline any prize; if there is BTC allocated to me, please donate it to Razom (https://razomforukraine.org/donate/#crypto).

Thanks to icopress for organizing this event, and congratulations to the winners!
congrats to theymos, you deserve it.

Can someone please call mister Elon Musk and tell him that he won the biggest fail of the year reward in bitcointalk forum?  :D
DONE..  I've done a DM to his twitter account lol

I have already sent him a message about this and I really hope that he will use his prize and have a great weekend with his wife! As I said earlier, two of our forum regulars were very pleased with the trip! In addition, the guys from BitcoinTalkShow offered to broadcast the upcoming party (with pixel faces, of course).

Just back home from Beers with Steve & Martin. Had a great weekend & awesome time at the Arsenal game. First time I met buwaytress too & his lady. You guys are the best, such a cool community, always good vibes.Special mention to Steve & Martin who are great hosts & cool guys. We even got to meet the big baller of sportsbet.io Tim.
Steve crazy spot on with his 2 draws and Gunners home win, which was an amazing watch, by the way, never mind the company of SB cool cats Steve, Martin and others. Was almost impossible to block out the awesomeness radiating from so many forum legends (and finally got to meet LFC_Bitcoin whom I've known from here almost since I started life on bct) -- there will be pics, once I figure out how to knock my roaming data into place!Ashamed to say was totally outclassed in this Beers with Steve event... so whoever gets to do latter rounds, be prepared. You will need to bring your A-game.

Congratulations, we have winners!  ;)

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! I really wasn't expecting me to win, especially not with this amount of votes (131). Really heartwarming to know that many people though of me (of course being a Ninja helped a bit ::)).

I'm going to be honest and say I'm not a fan of football (even though I'm brazillian... yes I know). I even had to google what an "Arsenal" and "Southampton" match was (;D). I'll gladly pass the prize to someone who may enjoy this more than I'll do, if possible.

I also got a private message from @ChipMixer with my 5 mBTC voucher, so thank you for that as well sirs! And of course, thank you @icopress for taking the time and effort to organize such event every year. :)

edit: received the prize from BestChange and Sportsbot as well!

This is getting interesting: who's next in line? From [Voting 2021] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382917.msg59069671#msg59069671):
Quote
The main prize cannot be exchanged for Bitcoins, so if the prize is not claimed, it will go to the winner in the Bitcoin Geek nomination, (if the prize is not claimed again, it will go to the winner in the Bitcointalk Ninja nomination).
In order so far:
1. Absolute Hero of Goods (theymos): "I decline any prize (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5390008.msg59654759#msg59654759)"
2. Bitcoin Geek (o_e_l_e_o): "unfortunately my well known position regarding privacy and my personal information prevents me from doing so since I would be required to dox myself to be able to accept (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5390008.msg59654375#msg59654375)"

Who's next in line? This seems undefined, and it looks like this "handing over" doesn't follow the same order in which the categories were listed. It's also not following this order:
Sportsbet, BestChange & ChipMixer List
Code:
franky1, hilariousandco, n0nce, TryNinja, Hhampuz, LoyceV, o_e_l_e_o, lovesmayfamilis, Foxpup, Ratimov

Thank you @icopress for putting this all together, as well as to the sponsors who were able to help you out with some added bonuses to get people more involved. I know it's never easy to run something like this when you care about it (which you obviously do), and as always you'll never be able to please everyone but all I can say is that you are doing an impeccable job and I can think of nobody else to do it as well, so thank you! Had I had more merits they'd all come your way.

To the people who voted for me - thank you all! I'm not entirely sure why you think I'm a master of any craft as you all blow me away time after time with your talents. I'm just a guy who got lucky to know someone who needed help running a campaign and then it snowballed from there. Either way, thank you and also a HUGE shoutout to my #2, the man who makes it all possible (seriously, I'd be lost without this guy), the best designer I know - jayce (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=335088), this win is as much yours as it is mine!

Congratulations to the winners, thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to vote. This shows that our forum is still alive and kicking and in so many different sections who are able to exist independently from each other, it's very nice to see.

Unfortunately, the prize cannot be exchanged for bitcoins and will not change hands any further. Even before the start of the event, Sportsbet and I determined the three most significant nominations, and the prize should have gone to one of the winners.

It is unfortunate that all three refused, since in fact ordinary users like me will be left without the opportunity to watch the hypothetical booze on BitcointalkShow. Also, as I've already pointed out, it's unlikely that Steve would have sacrificed the winner's privacy (I'm pretty sure there's an option for the winner to handle the airfare and hotel bookings themselves) + he could come to the party under a pseudonym.

Quote
All winners will share the prize pool of 50 mBTC and free bets will be drawn between the voters. Moreover, this year the main prize will be a VIP tour for two, to an Arsenal or Southampton match, The main prize cannot be exchanged for Bitcoins, so if the prize is not claimed, it will go to the winner in the Bitcoin Geek nomination, (if the prize is not claimed again, it will go to the winner in the Bitcointalk Ninja nominationincluding a corporate box, accommodation and flights).

It did not surprise me that theymos declined any sorts of prizes. In fact from next time give him an award (honer) without even voting 😉
If I understand correctly o_e_l_e_o and TryNinja declined the tour sponsored from Sportsbet. I would do the same, in fact I was not in mood to accept the T-shirts (won twices) from them. Once I wanted to give it away and second time I did not even bother to write for it.

I think an alternative instead of the tour should be proposed next time. After all this is bitcoin forum and a lot of us will have problem with our identity which we do not want to make public even to the closest one we talk to.

<snip>
Next time you make sure that no merit award to voting thread 😉. Good job you and GazetaBitcoin.

I didn’t get it? I mean what’s going on? So first of all we have the winners from Community Awards then this prize? So some one who’s declining to accept the prize doesn’t it mean declining the award too?
I would say no. They earned the honor but they are free to decline any prize/incentive for it.

Congratulations to all who legitimately earned the name! All of you are hero.

If guys refuse, what can be expected from girls? Although I know football fans among my girlfriends, this love is clearly not mine. Therefore, I really want to give a chance to someone who really understands all the intricacies of football, and also dreams of getting to this very interesting match, which is associated with a great journey.
And also, I will immediately give away my prize, which may be a rarity for collectors. Good luck guys!

If the prize would have been passed down the various categories and reached me, my choice of whom to give it to, would be fillippone. ;) He got no prize again this time, while being an absolute legend - and he seems to me like a football fan (even though these teams are not italian :D).

If I understand correctly o_e_l_e_o and TryNinja declined the tour sponsored from Sportsbet.
That's correct. I would have loved to accept the prize, but I'm not willing to lose my privacy to do so. As icopress explained above, icopress and Steve very kindly offered to send me the money to pay for my own travel to, and accommodation in, England, and to attend the stadium under a pseudonym, but this would obviously still have involved booking and flying under my real name (which therefore still puts my personal details at risk), and revealing my face, age, gender, ethnicity, accent, etc., to everyone involved in the tour and the rest of the prize. I hope Steve and the Sportsbet team don't take this personally after offering such a generous prize, but my stance regarding privacy and protecting my personal information is long standing and universal across all people and services.

I had other ideas on how to distribute the prize, but that's not a decision for me to make. The rules were clear before the competition started, and so the outcome is as icopress has stated above.

Privacy has been the reason for several winners to not receive the grand prize from this competition, which is unfortunate but also of course it is the choice of each winner to maintain their privacy properly. Congratulations to all the winners of this competition.

Not all winners will receive a prize for privacy reasons, but I'm sure they will be happy with the results of this vote and they should be proud of it. Are you going to celebrate a small party with your family this year?  :D

Congratulations to the winners , and everyone else nominated. I think there was slight problems in the competitions format, which were discussed in depth in the discussion thread, however overall this competition is at the benefit of the community. Regardless, of what prizes are offered or if any at all, I'm hoping to see this as a yearly event for the foreseeable future, because I genuinely believe this could be a motivating factor for users to continue to contribute quality discussion to the forum, which will only better the experience for us all.

I do hope we can iron out some of the creases in the future, but as stated before, overall its not a huge problem with how things were handled this time. I didn't vote, although I did intend on voting this year, I just kept putting it off, and until it slipped my mind. I'll make sure to vote next time :D.

Also, on a side note; I've only just noticed, but why is the moderator avatar a ghost? :D

You know why? The moderator is the scariest figure for spammers and anyone who breaks the rules and that's the most reasonable reason for me to guess why the organizers use that avatar for moderators.

But one avatar that is not neutral in my opinion is the Santa Claus avatar for the Craft Master winner. I think the competition should be fair to all religions and maintain neutrality because this forum is used by all religions, even atheists. I think it would be good to respect and honor adherents of other religions as well by not using certain figures from one religion or another for this kind of public competition. Do you think this opinion is too much?

To anyone who follows the sport with passion the prize offered by Sportsbet - accommodation, booking - is marvelous. However, I think that everyone involved in it (from the sponsors and organizing committee of this contest ) understands the stance that some members took regarding their privacy and hold no grudge. It's not like the winners couldn't say that they didn't want to me nominated - I guess? - and considering we're in a forum of which a majority of users share a deep care for their private data, such reaction was to be expected. I guess we will never be able to please both sides - I'm sure that there would be winners who wouldn't mind to take the prize (either the one from Sportsbet or the goodies from the YT channel - but there would be others who wouldn't go along considering their stance on privacy.

Perhaps for the next edition we should increase our imagination a notch and try to come up with prizes that could satisfy both parties, besides the usual BTC prize? I know it's not an easy task, but something can be achieved I'm sure. I'm up for a session of brainstorming if someone is up for it!

First of all, I would like to thank icopress too for his effort to create this fun event from getting sponsors until promoting it in the entire of forum and other platforms as well. By this event, he creating a friendly environment in Bitcointalk so everyone knows and cares each other more, and it changes the image of Bitcointalk as a place that full of spammers completely.

In this moment, I thank you guys who not only voted for me, but also hired and referred my service. And of course I would like to thank Hhampuz as my long-time partner and friend, who puts trust on me to contribute in all of his projects. As a designer, it's my ambition to become the best designer at least on Bitcointalk by keep learning and create innovative designs. But for Craft Master nomination, I agree with majority that Hhampuz completely deserves the award because of his passionate works as a campaign manager and one of the most important people in Collectible subforum. As a partner, he mostly gives me freehand for every project we work but sometimes he brings up some fresh idea and constructive feedback that are very important for my service to grow and be more creative. I'm proud of you mate!

And congrats to other winners too as well. You deserve it obviously since I have seen most of your contributions for the forum since the first time I registered here until now. Keep it up guys! The forum would be nothing without you. And of course to the voters! The forum would be nothing without you too! :D

Again, thank you icopress! You are in my cool kids list 8)

Also, as I've already pointed out, it's unlikely that Steve would have sacrificed the winner's privacy (I'm pretty sure there's an option for the winner to handle the airfare and hotel bookings themselves) + he could come to the party under a pseudonym.
I have no problems with that, honestly. I just don't really like football and don't ever watch it apart from Brazil's matches on the world cup, so it would really be a waste with me. I think I would probably accept it if it was a trip to watch a CS:GO major championship rather than a football match, for example. :D

I've never considered Santa Claus a religion, but now that you mention it I want to join it :D
I know the commercialisation of Christmas has robbed it of much of its meaning, but you've really never considered a literal saint (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas) to be a religious figure?

While we're on the topic, why am I an angel? Is is because I'm a divine being whose true nature is so incomprehensible to mere mortals that they somehow remain confused about my gender even after beholding my loins?

First of all congratulations to all the winners of the Bitcointalk community awards 2021 who have also got some exciting prizes this year which is impressive.Secondly thanks to @icopress and @GazetaBitcoin for organizing and managing this event in effective manner making the members engage in this time to vote for.It literally feels like having awards ceremony like the Oscars but for the forum members.

Those who have contributed well enough for the community in different ways have earned their rewards for it but it's not like those who have missed the opportunity are not good because there are so many members who might not be on that winning list but as forum member we know their tiredless efforts to make forum learning library. So be happy all with the results.

The another issue which I am seeing is privacy related but yes there are many of us who will prefer being anonymous rather than revealing their indentity for these prizes but it's after all our personal choice and if they don't want to compromise with it like @o_l_e_o has said it's completely fine and we should respect it.I also remember when the BitcoinTalk Show suggestions were asked i said about interview from top members but they have privacy issues which we should accept as it is same for me also.

So will see who is going to have this main VIP tour from sportsbet.io this time?

Regarding myself, second year in a row without winning anything. Last year I was close to the top, this year I was nowhere close to getting a prize. Shame on me, I need to work more for the “bitcoin geek” category (the category where my results where less awful.
Feel bad for you and was hoping that you will be winning in any one of the category but as a joint bitcointalk community we all share common base and these rewards are at secondary but our main priority is to make this forum better place and keep up the same good work we are doing.

You have been contributing so much towards bitcoin like sharing lot of useful stuff so you are also bitcoin geek man for us so cheer up and like your competitive spirit that you want to improve yourself more and be on that list.

Hopefully next year the competition will be bigger, funnier and louder!
Icopress, you get to be ready!
And my instincts tell you will be getting some tours next time the awards results are out if you are football fan and Steve has the same VIP prize next year.So cheer up for you and all the winners  ;)

I must confess to this that it really hurt me when i discovered am unable to meet up with the voting criteria for this noble award but am also excited at seeing the beautiful results coming as i expected and hopefully i see myself in the next coming award participating.

Congratulations to you all once again.

I decline any prize; if there is BTC allocated to me, please donate it to Razom (https://razomforukraine.org/donate/#crypto).

Thanks to icopress for organizing this event, and congratulations to the winners!

We can suggest you create a separate wallet for us to transfer you the prize (otherwise, we can make it ourselves and give you a seed phrase, to save you the trouble). And you can dispose the prize as you wish.
Unfortunately, we cannot make a transfer to any charity this or that way connected with geopolitics.

Firstly, due to our neutral status, which would be broken by such a transfer. Secondly, due to law restrictions in the country where part of our staff lives, to avoid administrative and criminal liability for them.

That's understandable and we can only respect the opinion. I wonder however, if theymos doesn't agree to this "deal", would you consider sending the amount to one of icopress addresses - assuming he accepts it? I'm sure that he'll know, better than anyone, where to channel/donate those funds to help his country...

I must say, the level of transparency in this balloting system is like non other and if such transparency was applied to the voting systems of nations, we won't have had a reason to question the credibility of our leaders.

The event was a huge success as, votes were largely considered from only exposed and experienced individuals on the forum. The initiative is one that calls for not just active participation as both voters and users voted for but, for a more dutiful user and an awareness that all that is done on the forum is duly noted and as well, credited.

A big congrats to all the winners!

Considering his past refusal to accept any prize it is hard that @theymos might accept this one also as Chipmixer has already donated his 5mbtc win to the Ukraine help. But if @Best_change does not want to involve in any of these matters it's on them but yes giving out the amount to the person who has organised this whole thing @icopress or @GazetaBitcoin are perfect to decide how to make effective use of these funds.

It's really nice to see that @theymos has decided to donate the funds from his winning and he deserved the title Hero of Good

Thank you Icopress for organising this contest, you are great.
80% of the people I voted are winners, I am happy I could make some cool voting judgements.
I'll keep projecting The Pharmacist and Fillippone for this contest if it's to be an annual contest and I know they will become winners soon because they were very close in this.

I have a concern.

Golden Feather

LoyceV (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=459836) (92), DdmrDdmr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324) (69)...

DdmrDdmr for instance came 2nd, 3rd, 4th in many different positions. But sadly to me he didn't win. For him to pull high votes in different positions means he is versatile or good in many positions. His versatility became a disadvantage to him and his votes were scattered among different positions. This also happened to others like The Pharmacist, Fillippone and even Ratimov(he was lucky to emerge in SpamBuster because he did exceptionally well there).

To solve this problem I propose that in subsequent awards, it can be done in two phases(Nomination phase and voting phase) by this, the result of the nomination will guide voters to know the strengths of the participants and hence decide the appropriate positions to vote them.

Meanwhile, someone should give DdmrDdmr an award.

Thanks to Best_Change, ChipMixer, sporty and others who coloured this contest by sponsoring it.

Regards.
KingsDen!

Yeah, nominations could solve some of the problems with the format of the awards. Think that would be a decent idea, although the nominations should be open to everyone, same as the voting.

Meanwhile, someone should give DdmrDdmr an award.
I don't take DdmrDdmr as the award receiving type, by that I mean a user that sought after recognition or awards. I'm sure they're quite aware of their recognition among the community, and hopefully that's rewarding enough, considering the results of the awards.

I actually have a question Is the Awards are for specific Position as explained in Page 1.

Isn't it is possible for the Awards same for every Country community or some awards for community sebior members.

One more question as Repeat Posts are not allowed so Is there is Source merit in every Community or just in Particular Community. Thanks

Phew, i will have to be absolutely spot on to interprete your questions. No, the awards isn't for specific positions, anyone can be voted for, but in order to qualify to vote, you will have to have at least 50 merits, or be a full member and above.

The awards is open for absolutely any user, irrespective of local board/section. (I am guessing that is what you mean by "country community")

Not in every local board (i am still guessing that is what you mean by "community" here). Theymos chooses Merit Sources, and yes some MS in their application state their intention to be more active in giving out source merits in their local section, thus if such MS are accepted, they can be said to be dedicated MS for such local section, i see you are from Pakistan, so i will give you a related example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5287171.0 i do not know if that user was later selected as a merit source in your local board. But overall it is up to users to apply if they want to be MS in their local community; and Theymos to decide. Here is how to apply:
Quote
If you want to be a merit source:

 1. Be a somewhat established member.
 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.

So the three qualified winners in three categories actually turned down the chance to watch Southampton or Arsenal play, which would have been a dream tour for some users who have never been to the UK. At the very least, getting to see Arsenal get beaten at home in their next game would be a pleasure. Lol.  ;D

What happens now that the three qualifying winners have declined for whatever reason, and the award cannot be converted to BTC? Is it possible for them to nominate someone to take their place? @icopress

Who's next in line? This seems undefined, and it looks like this "handing over" doesn't follow the same order in which the categories were listed. [...]

All winners will share the prize pool of 50 mBTC and free bets will be drawn between the voters. Moreover, this year the main prize will be a VIP tour for two, to an Arsenal or Southampton match

Hi All,

Congratulations to all nominees and winners.

It's great to see recognition, celebration, and positivity around the place!

Massive thanks again to ICOPRESS for organising this :)

On behalf of Sportsbet.io & myself, I can assure you we are not offended. We certainly respect your right to privacy.

For now, getting towards the pointy end of the EPL season and also a trip gone begging over the "Beers with Steve" Promo too.. this may have to carry over to the start of next EPL season. ( We will for sure honor the prizes in some way.)

Let me have a chat with the boss Joe to see what we can come up with and Ill get back to Icopress at a later date with potential work arounds.

Thanks all and regards,

Steve.

Yes, there should be a lot of different knick-knacks in gift tubes.

As for your personal situation, I think it will be very difficult for Cyrus to send you prizes. I will talk to him and clarify the details ... besides, if delivery to your country still fails, I can ask him for vector sketches and you can print these stickers anywhere in your city where mugs or t-shirts are printed.

Then have to wait for better times to receive these prizes.
If you have family or friends living outside of Russia, you can always have your prize package delivered to them. When the situation calms down, they can re-ship it to you or you pay them a visit and get it yourself.

This would be a great idea and not only for Community Award winners, but for all other bitcointalk forum members.
I always prefer printing my own stuff locally if possible instead of ordering them abroad and waiting for delivery that many times have unexpected delays.
Let's get those sticker files released and ready for printing... I am especially interested in T-shirt designs.

Wow! Congrats man for being one of the lucky ones in the dip! I know it's a stroke of luck but then not everyone gets that lucky. Enjoy the moment. One luv.

Congratulations to all 2021 awardees. You guys were all best in the categories you won. I think there should be consolation prices for those who come 2nd and 3rd in the next year's edition, instead of winner takes it all. I think that should be helpful as I've witnessed that some people got their votes scattered in different categories by voters and as a result couldn't amass total votes for any category. More so, I want to state here that I've maximum respect for the sponsors of this year's award, especially Bestchange. Kudos.

Theymos, I love your love for giving. Your insistence that your winnings should be sent to Razom is worthy of emulation. You've my respect.[/list]

I would also like to express my gratitude to icopress, to sponsors, and to confirm that I received (very fast) the prize from ChipMixer! I would also like to thank to all which nominated me during the contest.

It was a great contest, which needed plenty of work. I felt joy participating, same as last year, but this year I also realized how difficult can be, in fact, to organize such a contest. And I saw only a part of it! This happened after icopress asked for my help in counting the votes and I did not hesitate even one second for ensuring him of my willing to help.

But only after that I realized how much time he invested last year, and this year too, for managing all the parts of the contest(s). Counting nominations seems an easy job and it is so, in a way, as it's not like dealing with rocket science. But it requires a huge amount of hours. So although it is not hard, you do not sweat by doing it, it really needs to have plenty of hours for writing down each voter; each nomination; then counting them; marking who is not eligible to vote; then, after a while, making a double-check; then, after finishing this, making a triple-check and so on.

While doing these chores I had a revelation and only then I understood how much dedication icorepss had for creating these two contests from scratch - talking to staff, talking to sponsors, talking to helping hands (if any), creating the topics (remember, there were 3 topics created for each contest - the one for nominations, the one for discussion and the one with the quiz), creating the templates for announcing the winners... Even writing these topics, formatting the text properly, finding the funny pictures (and many other similar activities) require a lot of time, hard work and passion!

I was thrilled by his request and, I hope, he was pleased by my work.

I know, there were many vocals about "that's not fair / the other thing is not fair" etc. but the truth is that nobody can anticipate everything. All he did was his own initiative, nobody asked icopress for doing these contests and, furthermore, he did not owe anything to anybody. He wanted to make an activity for joy and, in most parts, he managed to do it -- this is why I am congratulating him again! I also believe that most of the participants felt joy and fun during the contest and, seen as a whole, this initiative was a success!

Of course, minor errors existed but lessons were learned and I am sure that next contest will please even more users! I wish I could also give a hand of help, if it will be needed.

Excepting all these, I am congratulating all winners, all nominated users and all participants!
