I'll take #8.  Thanks for putting on this raffle.  I've never owned any Pokémon products before, so this would be a bit of an interesting win for me.  I would probably end up regifting it to someone who appreciated them a little more, but it would be a fun win anyway.  I don't have enough information on the subject to know the difference between these packs and the packs that Logan Paul opens on youtube and sells for millions, so any information you want to share on Pokémon or why some of these cards are so valuable would be a learning experience for me.  Good luck with your raffle and I look forward to winning (or losing with the grace of a women's figure skater).

I'm surprised it has taken this long to get a single entry into a free raffle, but what can I expect with the mean age of 68 around here?

Pokemon cards were always a big passion of mine growing up, too bad I was too broke to really explore that hobby. Anyways, these are certainly no million dollar packs - these packs that I'm giving away are from two of the more recent releases (Crimson Invasion & Evolving Skies) and can be pretty easily found anywhere that there are trading cards for a few dollars.

The cards and packs that are extremely valuable are the cards that are extraordinarily rare, old and iconic. Logan Paul, if my memory serves, was dabbling in the "1st Edition Base Set Shadowless" packs/cards, which are the cards from the very first print run for America. "Shadowless" is in reference to the shadow they added to the borders of the cards after the very first run. In each release of pokemon, up to a certain point, there are "1st Edition" cards which indicate that they were the first cards printed for that particular set.

So, 1st Edition Shadowless cards are unique because of the art/shadow, rare because of the limited print and as old as English Pokemon Cards can be.

I've got a bit of a collection going and I don't need these packs so I'm hoping someone else has good luck when opening them; I have mostly stopped opening packs because I do not have the luck to offset the cost.

Each release of pokemon cards has a "Chase Card" or maybe even a couple, like a Charizard or a big shiny Snorlax - getting the chase card, on average, requires opening hundreds of packs.

Thank you for grabbing a slot and breathing some life into my raffle, slot "8" is yours!

I think that's because you put it in the "Goods" section instead of Collectibles.  If you hit the move link in the lower left of the screen you could slap it in collectibles and it'll fill up in no time.  For whatever reason this section isn't quite as popular.  There's a chance people will complain that it isn't a Bitcoin collectible saying it should be in the goods section, but it'll probably fill up before that complaint gets it moved back.   :D

Thank you for the raffle and the free spot as well as the Pokémon knowledge.  I guess I won't be making a YouTube video if I win, but I'll still be excited.  Good luck to all the future entrants.

I try to follow the guidelines on which board is for what, but like you said there are just certain boards that don't get the attention they deserve. Maybe if I stuck the cards inside an old broken GPU fan I could post this in computer hardware, or tape a Bitcoin Penny Freebie to them to meet the criteria for the collectibles section.

Personally, I think a YouTube video of you getting way too excited and trembling while you open these cards would be worth the watch; just convince yourself that they're million dollar packs.

Can I have 7 please ? Thx !

You certainly can! Consider it yours, I'll update the OP in just a moment.

I believe you're referring to the Fusion Strike set that was recently released; I wasn't lucky enough to get myself a mew from that release, but I did score myself a pretty cool Gengar card. I never feel lucky when I'm opening packs, my focus just shifts to the amount of money I spent on packs for $10 of cards.

Thanks for participating, Slot #1 is yours!

[Free Raffle]Crimson Invasion Pack of Unopened Pokemon Cards
Wow, nice one! Finally a Pokémon raffle! Thanks a lot for putting it up. I would love to take the following slot:

f - bullrun2020bro

Shipping would be to Europe (which I would pay for ofc). Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone else!

Unfortunately, the packs above are not extremely rare Pokémon 1st Edition Base Set boosters. That is why they are not worth millions of dollars, ofc. But they are pretty cool collectibles that can be the start of a large collection. Everyone starts small, you know.

If you want to go down the Pokémon rabbit hole, this would be a decent start. A full list of all available sets: Pokecollector - Sets (https://www.pokellector.com/sets)

As a rule, the older the more valuable. For the most valuable ones, check the Pokémon Base Set: Base Set Card List (https://www.pokellector.com/sets/BS-Base-Set)

Once you get into it, collecting Pokémon cards is one of the most enjoyable hobbies!

Once you get into it, collecting Pokémon cards is one of the most enjoyable hobbies!

Seeing fellow Pokémon collectors around the forum is heartwarming; OG got more Pokémon education in a couple posts than he may have bargained for, but that's what being passionate about a hobby looks like sometimes.

Slot "f" is yours, thanks for participating.

C please

You've got it. We're going to fill up one of these days, I'm sure of it.

I can't believe this hasn't filled up yet.  Free stuff people!  I'll see what I can do about getting a little promotion going on for you.  I want my Pokemon!

As always, good luck to everyone involved.  Maybe toss a link in some of you online groups and see if we can't get this free raffle going.

I will take 6 please

Normally I would be somewhat hesitant to allow a newbie into a free raffle, but beggars can't be choosers so slot 6 is yours :P

If newbies suddenly flood my raffle, we'll deal with that when it happens.

I can't believe this hasn't filled up yet.  Free stuff people!

You wouldn't think it would be this hard to give away something. I appreciate you helping get this off the ground OG.

Can I please have 2 or 3 (whichever is available).  Thank you for doing this!!

They're both available, but I'll throw you in at slot 2.

This is a first for me, I never did anything like this on the forum before. Come to think of it I cannot even recall when I last entered any sort of raffle let alone a free one  :)

Would it be possible to have slot #3 please? And how is it possible slots are still available so many days after you created the thread?

You have given me some ideas now. I have some old memorabilia hidden away somewhere which might be of interest to the forum members. Time permitting I will try to locate them and if found I might conduct a free/paid raffle or auction of my own.

I'm surprised it has taken this long to get a single entry into a free raffle, but what can I expect with the mean age of 68 around here?

Pokemon lover here! I have trading cards as well before (I don't know if that's genuine though as what matter is the collection :D) from Generation I Kanto to Generation 3 Hoenn. But since adulting hits me and now faces the reality of life (lol), I was only able to follow Pokemon until Generation IV Sinnoh. My trading cards are now also nowhere to be found as we move house 3 times. :(

I miss lurking at Bulbapedia and Serebii.net. ;D

Can I take slot #5? Thank you.

I knew there were at least some Pokemon fanatics hiding on the forum. I was too young to be into Pokemon when it first came out, but I've got a few packs and cards from childhood that my parents got me. Most of my collection is from the past year or two and is almost exclusively Sword & Shield Generation.

I miss lurking at Bulbapedia and Serebii.net. ;D

Can I take slot #5? Thank you.

Slot #5 is yours and has been updated in the OP. Bulbapedia has received too many hours of my life.

Thank you for this raffle!

Can I have b please?

It's yours!

I am honored, good luck and thank you for participating!

I think it's because my breath stinks and my lazy eye makes people uncomfortable.

Slot 3 is yours, thanks for participating and good luck.

Don't let me miss that, happy to hear that it sparked something in you.

Consider it yours!

I'll take 9 if this is still going on and thank you for doing this!

This is still going, and the 9 slot is yours.

I would like 0 please

Normally I wouldn't allow newbies to participate in a giveaway, but beggars can't be choosers so I wish you the best of luck and the slot is yours.

Is slot "a" available?

It sure is and now it belongs to you.

Ooo cool, I'll take spot 9 if still available... Thanks for holding this :)

9 is not available, but it looks like 4 and d are - your pick!

We need phishead to pick their slot, and/or someone to pick the other slot to be full and then we will roll this raffle!

I have updated OP to reflect the choices of everyone up to this point.

Oh I’ll take 4 please! Thanks again :)

You got it, I've updated OP and that only leaves slot "d".

This has been agonizingly slow and I appreciate everyone's patience.

I'll give it until I get home from work tomorrow and then I'll run the raffle with an empty slot if that's what needs to happen. Maybe we could do a test-block beforehand and whoever's slot it lands on gets the remaining slot - just a thought.

Since the interest was lower than expected and you have all been saint-like with your level of patience I will likely run all 3 Pokémon card raffles based on the participants/slots from this raffle.

The goods section needs a revival of some sort.

Title: Re: [FREE RAFFLE] Pokémon Cards 1/16
Post by: bill gator on May 01, 2022, 02:08:33 AM
I forgot to run this raffle when I got back from work, forgive me, gentlemen.

Current Block: 734327

The first block will determine who receives the remaining "d" slot.

The following 3-blocks after the impromptu raffle for the remaining slot will determine who will be receiving Pokémon cards!

There will be 1 winner per block for 4 blocks total. The order of prizes will be  "d" slot, Crimson Invasion pack, Crimson Invasion pack and then the Evolving Skies pack; if the first block ends in "d" then we will look at the next character from the end of the block.

"d" slot will be determined by Block 734332
1 Crimson Invasion pack will be determined by block 734333
1 Crimson Invasion pack will be determined by block 734334
1 Evolving Skies pack will be determined by block 734335

After over a month of waiting, the anticipation is at an all time high and if we wait any longer the ceiling might blow off this place.

Good luck to everyone and thank you for participating in the raffle.
