Title: Rig cleaning.
Post by: SamaritanMan on April 25, 2022, 12:11:22 AM
Hi guys,
I ordered a powerfull air blower to clean fans and all the rig components, but just for curiosity, how often do you clean your rigs?
And above all, can i use the air copressor on the rig while it is working?
Thanks.

Just a heads up: you're probably more likely to get relevant responses if you posted this in the Mining[1] section. You can move this thread by using the "Move Topic" option on the bottom left of this page.

Not a good idea to clean them while running why not stop mining for 10 to 20 minutes it's not a big deal cleaning the for a few minutes.
And yes you can use an air compressor but be careful it can blow some components if you can control the air pressure just set it to mild airflow not too much.

Be careful with air compressors because if you blow air on the fans, they can spin at 50000 RPM then the power surge will fry the fan controller.

You should turn off the unit, then unscrew the fans before cleaning it. The only exception is for GPUs, where removing the fans is unnecessary. Also, check for fallen heatsinks, debris, corrosion or other issues inside the hashboards.
