Title: RX6950XT might be the next king of mining
Post by: S3300 on May 05, 2022, 04:57:37 PM
The AMD RX6950XT could be the 3090Ti we all want, the best high end GPU from Nvidia that I like for mining is 3080s, I don't want the 3090s because they are unstable, you gain 120+ MH mining and after minutes the hashrate goes down, if 6950XT can beat 3090ti like what I heard then this might be the most powerful single GPU for mining.

It is going to have a hashrate of 73 Mh at best. Same memory bus width, but higher GDDR6 clock speed. There is no reason to buy this model over the RX 6800 non-XT version.

AMD Radeon RDNA2 Refresh performance leaked
https://videocardz.com/newz/official-radeon-rx-6x50xt-series-gaming-performance-leaks-out-rx-6950xt-is-4-faster-than-rx-6900xt
RX 6950 XT vs RX 6900 XT = 4% Faster
RX 6950 XT vs RTX 3090 = 11% Faster
RX 6750 XT vs RX 6700 XT = 7% Faster
RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 = 2% Faster
RX 6650 XT vs RX 6600 XT = 2% Faster
RX 6650 XT vs RTX 3060 = 23% Faster

I don't like heaters

Hashrate goes down because of memory temp not the gpu itself. So change the factory thermal pads with 15w ones and you are good to go. The 6950 like 6900 will fail to deliver what it costs, the reason the 6900 is the only gpu lower than msrp right now is because is not worth the money, not even for gaming. The truth is, AMD is releasing the 6950 right now before intel releases their gpus because they know after intel releases their gpus and nvidia mafia crashes the gpu market together with crypto then they will not sell anything at that price. AMD want to cash out from idiots while they are still overpaying for gpus.

I updated the price statistics for graphics cards and added information about new AMD graphics cards

It seems to me that AMD was late with the release of these video cards.

the 3090 is perfectly stable at 107-112 mh

I don't know why we are even talking about the RX 6950 XT, because it only has slightly more memory bandwidth than the RX 6800 card. Therefore the ETH hashrate will be about the same. Only gamers will want to buy this card. The RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT are no better for mining either than the regular 6800, as we know.

True, but at least it doesn't come with that gddr6x that gets extremely hot, imagine a AMD graphic card with gddr6x memory? God that's going to be extremely hotter because AMD cards are always hotter than Nvidia.

I agree, just checked one open rig. 17 days, 118mh (TBM) at the pool side avg., 330W (I have not done much tuning on this card).

I will leave my RX6950XT opinions after the graphic card is launched and miners on Youtube do their own mining benchmarks, who knows? Maybe the 3080Ti will even blow this GPU out in mining.

Another 256bit bus speed card  ;D
Amd did good efficiency but they kept their latest gpus low bus speed, maybe they saved this for next generation.

I have an RTX 3080 Ti card. It sucks for mining! The highest ETH hashrate I can get is 78 Mh. Dual mining ETH+CFX is not possible because the VRAM gets extremely hot. The card is only good at ERGO, where I get 260 Mh at 250w.

Yeah, I typed up that comment just before I read the news about Quickminer.
