Title: Can we help https://badbitcoin.org/ back on their feet?
Post by: Kakmakr on May 06, 2022, 05:42:15 AM
I know this might not be a scam accusation, but it is a resource to prevent scams before they happen. (Please move the thread if you think it should be posted somewhere else)

I have been using https://badbitcoin.org/ for many years to check if a new Bitcoin project are a scam or not. You simply Google a site and if it was reported at badbitcoin.org, it will come up as a scam.

Now I see they have ran into financial difficulties and they had to shutdown their "investigation" section of the site. So if you ever have been scammed and if you know the trauma and anger it cause, I would ask you to support the site to get the "investigation" section up and running again.

Thank you in advance for any support to this site, because it will help to flag scams ..before people fall into those traps.

Ps... I am in no way affiliated to the site, but I have used them countless times before as a resource to help other people... so I feel that I owe them something in return.  ;)

Pss...

Important Announcement
12th August
Sorry, but we are discontinuing all investigative work. It is expensive, it is fraught with legal issues, and we have decided to do something else.
Quite what that is yet, we still have to decide. Keep visiting though, and find out.
Thanks. The Badbitcoin Team.

So it seems as though this is not going to work.... Very sad to see this happen!!!!

Someone informed me that they are a scam site and I did not know it, so can one of the admins please delete this thread?

My suggestion is that maybe you could just turn the topic around and add details showing how they are scammers, including editing the title. This could help someone who is looking it up online in the future.

PSA - not my article, just from a quick google search, but I recall this badbitcoin guy being a huge scammy XPY Shill back then in the GAW thread ... I believe his name was MrCoins or something like that... :P

@kakamakr -

Just change the topic to "BADBITCOIN.ORG IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY" so that it gets picked up in search results or something - I removed the neutral trust I left on you - you can also just put [DELETE] in the title, or "Move" the topic to the "Archive" section to really trash it yourself.

Thanks for unlocking and seeing the truth! :P
