Title: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC?
Post by: BroganWessex on May 25, 2022, 11:18:00 AM
Hello all,

I have been following Bitcoin prices for some time, and now I'm doubtful if it is a good time to start accepting it as it has changed so much in the past months. Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it? And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

Thanks in advance!

I guess it's never a bad time to start accepting bitcoin. I have setup a store that accepts bitcoin for somebody i know IRL and i help her quite often with the technical aspects.
If you have faith that bitcoin will sooner or later go to the moon, you can keep the btc... If you don't like the price fluctuations, you can sell it for FIAT after receiving it (or use a payment processor that takes care of this for you).

The site i set up uses btcpayserver, and i know my friend keeps the btc she makes... But again, that's completely up to you...

If you use a third party service and you get fiat then I guess you already have nothing to lose, although such services may be more and more avoided by bitcoiners because of the ever growing KYC requirements.

If you decide to keep the coins yourself or exchange (parts or all) yourself then the recommended software is BTCPay server, but that's about investing and it's a decision you have to make for yourself. Also in this case you have to find out how will the accountancy look like.

However, it's said that it's always the good time to start with bitcoin.
Whether it worth it or not? It's hard to tell, it may depend on each and every one's goals.

Whatever is your choice, good luck!

Yes.

Quote
And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet
Yes.

Question for you: what do you want to accept Bitcoin for? It's a payment, and you can exchange it. I could accept payment in any form, as long as I can convert it into something I want. Bitcoin works, euros work, dollars work.
If you mean accepting and keeping it, it's only a good idea if you can afford to risk price drops.

The price of bitcoin has always been volatile, so if that's worrying you, you'll keep worrying because that will always change and the characteristic of bitcoin being like that will never change.

Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it? And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

Thanks in advance!
It's always worth it to receive bitcoin as a payment. Whether it's for products you sell, services or just a gift. You should practice receiving it directly on your wallet because that's how it goes, there's no one that should receive it for you even you use an address from an exchange, it will still count as your receiving address.

But technically, you don't own your bitcoin there if it's a centralized exchange because you don't hold the key.

If your main concern is volatile Bitcoin price, you could either find custodial Bitcoin payment processor which automatically convert received Bitcoin to fiat or exchange it frequently. While there's no bad time to accept Bitcoin, i would recommend you to research how much your customer wants to pay using Bitcoin.

Good decision when accepting bitcoin as currency payment for your store, but some costumer not popular and know with bitcoin as digital currency payment and easy when adopting purchase on store. But applause what have did by your store when brave accepting bitcoin and looks become popular on your country later, by the way have terrible with legal currency payment with bitcoin on your country? worry if later have trouble and suspend by your government when accepting bitcoin as legal currency payment for your store.

I don’t have a business where I accept (or don’t accept) bitcoin but I think now is no different than any other time. Bitcoin has always has a level of volatility that I don’t think now is really any difference than any other time. Bitcoin could just as easily go up right now as it could go down.

There is no perfect time to accept or not accept bitcoin, but now is the time to buy more bitcoin and not spend it because the price is much lower than what it was several months ago.

people do not tend to spend a lot of bitcoin and may prefer to pay with paper money if there is an option.

my advice to you

  • Try adopting the Lightning Network to make the charges zero.
  • Give discounts for Bitcoin.
  • Do not convert those coins into cash and wait for several years.

Bitcoin is not for the indecisive. If you're in doubt just because the problems out there are temporary in my opinion, fix your mentality regarding Bitcoin long-term perspective. Don't compare it to a short duration as it's irrelevant for Bitcoin.

If you are aiming to invest then get to know them all, not because of the hype or the news at a glance. Your money means control is yours. Bitcoin does not have time to explain to doubters.

Receiving Bitcoin in the amount of $1 is much more valuable than receiving millions of Shitcoin. Because Shitcoin cannot offset $1 in Bitcoin.

Whether to choose third-party or P2P services depends on your own preferences and needs. It doesn't matter as long as the Bitcoins arrive in the wallet with the amount we ordered.

If you are worried about the current price levels, why didn't you integrate Bitcoin into your shop when it's value was over $60.000? I am joking, of course. ;)

What kind of business are you running? You need to ask yourself, would Bitcoiners and other crypto holders be interested in my products and services? Some marketing that your shop is accepting Bitcoin could also help. After that, you have to decide if you are going to keep the coins you receive or convert them immediately to fiat. Many shops use payment processors that convert crypto to fiat and that way they don't have to worry about the volatility. Besides the inflation that is already eating up your spending power.

Bitcoin is money and it depends on what you are selling in your store and the platform at which you accept the Bitcoin, I know a shop that accepts Bitcoin but the only challenge used to be the price fluctuations since the shop sells groceries and receives a small amount in Bitcoin on some goods so sending the Bitcoin to exchange before converting to cash used to cost her extra cost, ever since the payment now go straight to an exchange address the conversion process is less costly and business is moving fine for her. So ultimately it depends on you what you want and how you want to go about it on a general note everyone will say Bitcoin payment is the best for a retail shop.

Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it?

it really worth investing and now is the best time to give a try on it, bitcoin is profitable if investment on a long run, it's incomparable to other cryptocurrencies, it's a digital decentralized currency for a good store of value and assets that appreciate with time, your privacy and security is never compromised while using bitcoin.

And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

it is better to make use of a p2p decentralized exchanges in procuring bitcoin and it is advisable for you to understand the  difference between Centralized exchanges and Decentralized exchanges (https://www.coindesk.com/learn/centralized-exchange-cex-vs-decentralized-exchange-dex-whats-the-difference/#:~:text=In%20brief%2C%20DEXs%20aim%20to,offer%20their%20own%20advantages%20too.) the wallets required to use for privacy and security of your coins whereby you have access to your keys is with the use of  hardware wallets  (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Hardware_wallet) and you can as well read about  Wasabi wallet  (https://wasabiwallet.io/) and how to make use of   bitcoincore  (https://bitcoin.org/en/bitcoin-core/) with coinjoin for maximum security and privacy that gives you access to download the full blockchain and run a full node, don't ever make use of a centralized exchange in mistake for a centralized exchange because that is you giving the third party full access to your coins.

Changed so much as in ?
It's the same bitcoin as it was in the previous years and the only thing that's changing is it's price.
Right now is a great time to start accepting BTC because the price of bitcoin is low.
You will get more number of coins right now than what you will get when the price increases.

I am wondering why you doubt this will be a cool time to accept Bitcoin. It's best appreciated i the dip. Although there is no right of wrong timing to transact in crypto but if you must accept crypto directly into wallet you should also be a good market analyst to know when to go stable since it's not an investment tool but a legal tender at the moment. But generally there is no bad time to accept Bitcoin in exchange for goods and services

Accepting it as what? A payment for something? I personally never invested but rather got payed in crypto a while back and decided to just keep it and see what happens. It really depends on your goals weather you want to get payed in btc or not, and it depends if this is just a one time thing or a long term commitment. All those factors come into play.

It all depends on the business and the urgency to restock. If you urgently need to buy back for more sales, then I suggest you exchange your Bitcoin for fiat for that purpose. You can have a plan to keep some Bitcoin as a form of investment. The current bear market is the time to BUY, though you have to be cautious because the market can still move lower. Basically, having Bitcoin as an investment, just like any other investment, it is important to invest what you can afford to loose.

Was there ever a bad time to start accepting bitcoin? It's an extra payment method. This means there are more customers who'll be willing to buy your products. For example, me. Whenever I want to buy something via the internet, I check if it can accept bitcoin instead, and if it does, I choose to. Even if I don't for some reason, I will feel a preference to that store; accepting bitcoin shows you respect my privacy.

If you sell products that don't cost a lot ($1-$50), consider accepting Lightning payments as well.

How much time do you need to learn Bitcoin and understand all the ins and outs of bitcoin?
If you are still in doubt, then there is no need to rush there is still plenty of time to match what you really need. If what you need or seek to benefit from is in Bitcoin then why not start with a small amount?

Everything also needs real action to find out whether it is good or not. As @mocacinno said if you don't find it suitable then you can swap it back to fiat. Maybe the soul of your investment is in another area.

Depends,

1. Are you just using it as a way to grow your % of bitcoin,
or
2. do you need the money to be used quickly to maintain the function of your business?
*If you can't afford an entire month with no pay, then you fall under option 2.*

If your answer is 1 , then straight to a wallet you control would be fine.
As you are prepared to hold thru any collapse in price verses fiat and don't need the income to maintain your business.

If your answer is 2, which for the majority of small business it will be,
Holding btc after a transaction is a dangerous position,
As a price collapse of btc verses fiat could turn a profitable business into a failure.
If you still want to offer accepting btc or any crypto, you need to use a 3rd party service that immediately converts to your local fiat,
that way you can accept crypto without worry of the price fluctuations destroying your business.

Considering that most people here who works in the signature campaigns are paid in Bitcoins primarily I do think that am well qualified to answer this question:

1. Accepting BTC is not honestly a bad thing since the price crashes are not that sudden in a day it's more or so +2% or -2% thus if you are worried you can encash it in a matter of seconds and would be able to keep it in fiat.

2. You can also open your own wallet which means that it can be taken as a long term investment and it's not on the market, it's on you how far you want to hold

3. You can also trade and encash in so many currencies making it far more better for an international business as well !

4. If you want you can put 50% in an investment in Bitcoins and 50% you can encash and this dividing would decrease the chances of loosing everything if you are so scared of that.

Depending on how you accept it, it's always a good time.  You don't have to hold the BTC you receive, or you could hold only a portion of it in BTC.  The preferred method of course is to hold it forever, but sometimes as a business you've got to cash out a little to pay the bills.  I'd say to make a clear plan of what your goals are and then budget your BTC accordingly.  Whether that's BTC from new sales or just BTC you're holding on your balance sheet.

Depends on you if you could able to bare the risk of volatility or not and as a business owner/merchant then most likely you would really be minding off about profits which should really be on that assured mode

or being stable thats why lots are really in doubt when it comes on accepting bitcoin or crypto as a whole due to that reason aside from regulation issues. If you could handle the risk then go ahead.
Some might be using those 3rd party provider which they do accept bitcoin and directly converted to fiat value or simple directly accepting it on your own personal wallet.

You might just need to adjust the price a lot since people are used to looking at the price of Bitcoin which is just normal as it is. If you can help yourself using non-web wallet, do it as much as possible so that you won't encounter any problems in the future since some web wallets are too strict with KYC that they might freeze your wallet at anytime and that is not going to be great in the flow of whatever business you're running.

When you accept bitcoin directly into your business, you're eliminating the third party service provider. In most cases it'll be the banks, for example a consumer pay you in fiat. The fiat gets received by the bank and it is processed and reflected on your account. This happens in a very short time period, but the intermediary have control over your funds.

When the transaction is done in terms of bitcoin, you control your account and holdings. Here there is no time period to start accepting bitcoin, because whether you start accepting bitcoin today or later you're gonna eliminate the third party involvement that's it.

Does it cost you much to start accepting Bitcoin? If you pay once to set it up and then it just works, then the sooner you start accepting Bitcoin - the better, because it would increase your sales, even if by a small margin. But if there are maintenance costs, then you might indeed consider delaying the launch. The best way to make this decision is to ask businesses that accept Bitcoin in the same sphere about their Bitcoin volumes during bear market.

Sure it's a better time than any other to adopt and accept Bitcoin because there are so many developers in the sector. There are a whole range of solutions available depending on your business and personal needs. If you just want to accept Bitcoin as another payment method then you should probably seek a company that allows you to sell it immediately on receipt, with all the appropriate fees factored, because volatility might see you lose (or gain) money from price movements. If you're more interested in accruing Bitcoin over time then you might simply want to accept it to your private wallet, as long as you take reasonable steps to secure it.

I have been personally accepting bitcoin for around 4 years now and never felt any problems with it. I am in marketing and that means I will be able to do the work and get paid accordingly, if I do a great job then I get paid a lot, if I do a horrible job then I will not be paid well. This dynamic deal, plus being able to find jobs all around the world and working in front of my PC without ever leaving my house is the reason why I love bitcoin so much. I get to not only earn bitcoin from doing this, but also spend it back again to grow bigger and become a bit more famous and end up with bigger customers thanks to it.

There are some interesting things about bitcoin lately; that more than 12 million bitcoin has not moved in a year and it keeps leaving the exchanges. Grayscale has released the plan to sell bitcoin if it goes below 21k, which is a depressing news to the space with the amount of bitcoin in there custody, it is like going to dump bitcoin lower than 15k price. This premise give a disturbing view on the dip in this market for bitcoin. Some expect the lowest dip between November and February 2023.

I think, the time when you are convinced that Bitcoin holds more value is the best time to start accepting Bitcoin.  Aside from that, it is always a good time to accept BTC during bear trend.  That way, your product will cost more BTC due to the BTC price collapsing.

Yes, of course. This is enough time to accept Bitcoin. Some people still say bitcoin will be dumping more. Those who want to invest in Bitcoin can make a long term investment by buying Bitcoin. The market may be pumping from time to time. Then you will not be able to buy and will have to buy at a higher price later. If you want to make a long term investment then I would say buy Bitcoin and invest in this market.

whenever would be a good time to receive bitcoins, or have them in your wallet. Questions like these will continue to exist until you start accepting bitcoins, or owning them. for now, the price is even discounted quite far from the ATH price, so this might be an opportunity for you.
Besides, if you feel that it's too late because the bitcoin price has fallen far short of its ATH price, when is the best time for you? is it when the bitcoin price reaches $10k, or when the bitcoin price reaches $100k? Such questions will reappear when the bitcoin price has reached one of these prices. So, it's never too late when you start.

Whether it's in the long term or even in the short term, bitcoin is indeed worth defending, even though at this time the market seems to be in conflict, but everything will pass over time.

You need to observe the reaction of people that accepts Bitcoin when the price was 40k and they are still accepting it till date. In my opinion, it matters to save those bitcoins and use fiat to run your business i.e if you accept both. Some businesses accept only cryptocurrency and they may not be affected by the price because the digital money they accept can get traded for byproducts or materials used in production.

When stacking the bitcoin then it's a bit risky and fully profitable on the other flip. When selling the bitcoin to purchase things (not bad) you may regret it when you see how much the $1k worth of bitcoin transacted now has become when the price hits 40k per bitcoin.

Why would you need third party services for Bitcoin? Do you need legal reassurance that a third party won't lose your Bitcoin? Do you trust yourself less than some strangers saying give us your money and everything will be ok? I could understand the fear if it wasn't missplaced fear.

It appears you have not understood the very point of Bitcoin and crypto in general. Be your own bank. Nobody else should control you, your money, your proof of transactions or your wallet.
Or in the case of other cryptos, privacy.

If you use a third party will also not be a problem, but it's better if you avoid using third party services.
It's better if you receive it directly.
There is no need to hesitate on Bitcoin because Bitcoin is an asset that will always have value even though there have been many changes in recent months.
That's a brief explanation from me, my friend, that Bitcoin will always be valuable so you don't have to hesitate.

For sure when you have this thought in your mind to accept bitcoin as mode of payment it's the right time but what's the adoption or awareness level about bitcoin in your locality? Even if small percentage of people are willing to pay in bitcoin you could keep them safe in your wallet and hold them for long term if you are afraid of volatility at this time because in long run you will have profits over your btc.But you can also convert them to fiat but accepting it is best choice you can make.

It depends on what you expect from bitcoin. Considering you are so concerned about the short term volatility it seems like you haven't understood what bitcoin is.
If you are expecting to make a lot of profit by receiving bitcoin payments (from price rise) then the answer is not, it is not a good time to accept bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the only decentralized currency and you should only accept it if you are seeking financial sovereignty.

And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?
There is no point in using a third party to receive bitcoin, you might as well continue accepting fiat.

Given the current market conditions, it is a good time to accept Bitcoin. If you can accept Bitcoin for a long time at this time, you may change one time. Many people have imagined this position in the current market but in this position they will actually buy bitcoin. Now that the market has moved to this position, you can now buy Bitcoin and make long-term investments.

Start accepting bitcoin based on the legal system in your country. In many countries the legal framework isn't supportive to accept bitcoin, because bitcoin is still under the unregulated sector. It is good to accept bitcoin into business unlike the market, but your government shouldn't create any problem to your business.

If your business is in a region where there is more people using cryptocurrencies, then it'll add more support to you. If not you should have the mind to consider bitcoin acceptance without any expectations on short term profit making. Because many large scale business firms like Expedia started accepting bitcoin and stopped within a short as they didn't received expected usage.

I agree that now is the right time to buy bitcoin, the growing global community makes us have to be optimistic that the future of bitcoin will be bright, maybe it is still red because investors are selling off the impact of inflation, but I believe when inflation ends then the price will skyrocket.

If you have a business or work for a business in a position that enables you to suggest Bitcoin adoption, what do you have to lose from starting to accept Bitcoin? The price is currently low, so people who'll pay you might be hesitant, but you (or the business), on the other hand, have everything to gain if you hold these payments in BTC until it recovers. As for the question of the recovery, I have little doubt that Bitcoin will recover and surpass the previous ATH. It has always done it. The only consideration that might stop you is if accepting Bitcoin as payment is illegal in your country, and you might face repercussions for doing it. But that has nothing to do with the price.

That can be a perfect time provided that you run this legally, not illegal. I hope that your government allows any business establishment or sector to accept Bitcoin for this is a big factor that could affect the results of your plan and likely be successful. But if the authorities in your country ban crypto, never continue your plan or create problems with them as at the end of the day, you are the one to suffer rejections.

I suggest discussing it first with the assigned division where you are going to process legal papers before doing it just to make sure that everything will be fined and ready to go.

In this case the government plays the most important role, without any legality from them, then no matter how good an idea I think it is useless. for now the central bank states bitcoin is not a currency, although they are impressed with bitcoin's performance, and I think this will be a longer step because the current situation and conditions do not support bitcoin to be legalized let alone certify companies making payments with crypto, but we do not know future developments, along with relevant conditions later

Yes and no. It depends on where you are in the world and what your target market is. There are a lot of companies using BTC right now as an alternative currency, and it's easy to start accepting BTC when you can integrate it into your checkout process, but it is still very new. People won't be ready to spend it in retail until it is more mainstream. However if your target market is people already using bitcoin then accepting BTC is a no-brainer.

and now I'm doubtful if it is a good time to start accepting it as it has changed so much in the past months.
Companies accept Bitcoin in their business, based on the price of the goods they sell and are measured according to hourly and daily Bitcoin prices, Bitcoin going up and down is not a barrier for companies to stop accepting Bitcoin.

For example:
Today Bitcoin $28k, item price $50, company accepts Bitcoin at current Bitcoin price of 0.00172btc, and so on if Bitcoin goes up by $100k, the company receives Bitcoin for 0.00049btc at the adjusted price of Item $50.

High price of Bitcoin and low price of Bitcoin, it doesn't matter to companies that accept Bitcoin.

So, do business and accept Bitcoin as a digital currency in your company, not only today it's worth using, whenever it's good to use, even though the price is high and low.

I will say yes ,bitcoin is always suitable for accepting in business but there is also some risk that is the market volatility. If the market volatility can't harm to your business then there's no risk and if it can then it can be a barrier to your business. So I think you should first know that, is bitcoin accepting  suitable for your business and if any action can be taken to make it suitable, then take the action first and then analyzing it and then accept.

There’s never a good and bad time you start accepting bitcoin. Using bitcoin as a means of payment for services you render is a big plus for your business. People respect privacy a lot and accepting it can bring more customers to the services you are rendering. Accepting bitcoin and immediately changing it to fiat is the best for you as you’ll want to stock more products for sale as you’re selling off. This is best for you considering the market fluctuations currently, for you not to lose most of your profits in a blink of an eye. You can only keep for a while if you want to invest for a long time in the market having in mind that the market can either fall down or go up at any moment in time.

I don't think that this is a bad time to try to accept bitcoin as a means of payment, it's certainly a good time because now a lot of institutions out there are starting to adopt it. Especially for countries that have legalized bitcoin as a means of payment, you may be able to easily adopt it as an alternative currency in your business. But not for my current country which still has rules that prevent bitcoin users from using their bitcoin as a means of payment.

There’s never a good and bad time you start accepting bitcoin.
No, if many large institutions start to stop adopting bitcoin as a means of payment mainly because the government revoked its legality then it is not the right time to adopt it. But if you agree, I can't blame you one-sidedly.

Depends actually on someone's preference because majority of merchants or Business owners doesn't really like to get involved into something which could really give out chances of losing those things but there are some who are really that open-minded when it comes  to possible opportunities that they might able to get into.

It's up to him whether he accepts or not and I do agree that there's no good or bad time yet this is just an other alternative when it comes to payment gateway or method. It is really just Bitcoin does have other benefits where people do been thinking of.

I understand that what I'm afraid of is the price that there may still be a deeper decline so that the op is hesitant to accept bitcoin but if you want to implement bitcoin payments then you also have to know how the bitcoin price travels which are very unstable, not as fiat, so you have to be able to apply it every time of course with a system that can be managed to avoid big losses from a payment and if that can be done then the op is making a big step for bitcoin

There's no better time to accept bitcoin in your business. It totally upto you and what you want. But let me drop suggestions below;

1. According to the context in Op, it is implied that the best time you want to accept bitcoin for business is when it attains some level of stability. It coul be when the last btc is mined or when there is massive adoption.

2. When you say business, treat business as business and nothing should stop your business from growing including bitcoin. If your customers don't need bitcoin as a payment method, please don't force it. Forget bitcoin and continue your business with fiat. But if you are unsure about your customers view, you can ask for their feed back through some questionnaires. It is your customers that will determine and not us here.

3. If you are to accept bitcoin, ensure you have means of battling volatility and reconciliation of accounts.

Bear markets are a good time to start adopting bitcoins in business in the hope that they will grow when the price will recover. Regarding payment methods, I will look at several factors such as how interested people are in using bitcoin to pay for things and the habits of people using this type of wallet for transactions, as well as how you want to manage the bitcoin income itself whether you will hold it or reuse it to finance creating new products. This will determine the payment method you want to use for your service.

You can accept bitcoin as payment but monitor the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin price always fluctuate, it is important to check the chart because there is a possibility that btc will go down again.

Doesnt matter if bitcoin is price high or lower.
1 BTC = 1 BTC

It do only differs on USD value which we do really matter the most but if you are really on that decision or plans on accumulating profits in long term basis
then holding or accumulating as much as you could would really be idea but if not then you could make use of third party providers which could make out
instant conversions to fiat if you are really that worrying that much.

Its up to someone on how much risk they could able to put in related into their own business.

Bitcoin price has become acceptable in all countries of the world. Because all the developed countries have given cryptocurrency legitimacy in almost all the countries but all the underdeveloped countries? Cryptocurrency has not been legalized. Because they can't support the cryptocurrency that the banks of all the developed countries can't support because updating the cryptocurrency will bankrupt the bank.

Due to which developed countries are less likely to accept bitcoin support but also in developed countries or cryptocurrency is certainly supported.

By now its good to start accepting it knowing the price is so cheap compare before and we are facing down trend so I guess it will be beneficial for a company or business to do it right away because if the price pump more harder as we know bitcoin has capabilities to have a bull run for sure those companies who accept bitcoin when the price at cheaper price will earn more from it. For now do more studies because and also ask yourself first if you can handle the market pressure since we know price of bitcoin is so volatile.

From an investment standpoint, some might argue that accepting BTC directly may be a bad move, but to others (including me) this is a dream come true waiting to happen. The beauty in investing into BTC is primarily due to its inflationary nature and volatility. Many have experienced that their investments skyrocket due to BTCs volatile value and nature.

Personally, investing into cryptocurrency is definitely risky but it is definitely worth it due to the potential of earning thousands to millions. From my experience also, my BTCs go straight to my wallet and no third-party services (e.g mixers, etc.) have been used to transfer such.

Your question is very acceptable but it denotes "distrust" if there is fear it is better not to enter the business of payments with bitcoin for services, but although the current situation does not seem to look good it is perhaps the best time, but it is not so easy in the sense from the backing of liabilities, that is, debt payments, inventory acquisition, payment of employees, if you currently receive payments in BTc you should have a backing of liabilities and assets in Fiat, but surely in the medium-long term you will obtain profitability.

Cryptocurrency is a High Volatility trading platform. There is a fear of losing huge as well as a possibility of profit. According to my experience, those who hold BTC they never make loss if they hold it for long time. Because last year we see the ATH of btc price. The current market condition is not positive and btc price is lower so this is the proper time to buy or accept btc.

Maybe it depends on what kind of business you are up to and if people are also willing to pay bitcoin for whatever kind of service you are offering. If your business is somehow on the technology side then I think bitcoin as payment might be worth it but if the business you are taking about need a monthly capital and you only support it through the income itself of the business then, therefore, I think it's going to be hard. You should not also forget that bitcoin's price is extremely volatile and it can really affect the way you handle your business. But if you are willing to take the risk then why not?

And if you really like to accept bitcoin, then I think it is much better if you are being paid directly to your wallet and don't use third-party services as it will cost customers additional fees which for sure they are not going to like.

I think is not really a bad idea accepting bitcoin as your payment method, is not really too early and is not to late to accept bitcoin, if you are scared bitcoin will dump after accepting it then after payment have been made, you can easily convert it to fiat which is stable, but if you believe in bitcoin and you won't really be needing the money soon then you can leave the money in bitcon because if you can hold for long term you will definitely be in good profit. Also make sure you get a expert which will help you set up your bitcoin payment method and make sure you secure your private key to your wallet.

Yes it is quite easy to do if we know how to do it. But for beginners, it will certainly be confusing to do it.
What I'm worried about is that the op doesn't know about the steps to take if implementing this kind of strategy. Not to mention regarding wallets requiring private keys, I hope the op didn't miss out on that.

Digital ones will be something a lot better because it will make you a lot more money. I personally believe that bitcoin should be used in digital places, websites, ebooks, stuff like that which you could basically give it to people right away when they pay you in bitcoin. I did that back in the day with a software for example, a trading bot, you would get a license of it as soon as you paid in bitcoin and it was a great deal.

Unfortunately I stopped because I am not a good salesperson and my SEO is not that great so it was just an expense for me and there was no income for me at all, that is why I stopped doing it all together.

If a person has questions like this, then most likely now is the right time to start accepting payments. So OP is already ready for this. But in the post he wrote, there is no information on what goods or services he would like to sell for bitcoin. It seems to me that bitcoin would be best suited for paying for the results of intellectual labor or skills, such as the ability to program or draw. That is, something that doesn't require cash costs, such as the production of donuts (sorry for this example :)), which require money for ingredients to bake, not to mention the associated costs. I fully accept and consider it acceptable to accept payments for the sale of e-books, digital paintings or photographs, as well as music, videos, games and something similar in digital versions. In this case, fluctuations in the rate of bitcoin will not have an impact and will not require large expenses, as with the sale of physical goods that need to be made from something and stored somewhere, which entails monetary costs. I would suggest minimizing costs when accepting payment at bitcoin in the first place.

the right time or not depends on the regulatory conditions in your country and also your readiness to accept bitcoin with rapid price fluctuations.
this really needs to be thought about and prepared. using a third party service or not is your policy as a shop owner or business owner, but using an integrated third party service will be better and more efficient and at a lower cost.

If you don't care about BTC's price relative to Fiat, then it's the perfect time to start accepting it as payment method. But most merchants rely on Fiat to survive, so they would hesitate to accept BTC when prices are always unstable. After all, the whole world goes around Fiat. Things would've been different if we were living on the Bitcoin standard. Goods and services would be paid for using Bitcoin without ever needing to cash it out to Fiat ever again. That would only happen if Fiat collapses in its entirety (which you and I know this is very unlikely to happen anytime soon).

As long as volatility exists, the number of merchants accepting BTC as payment method would be extremely limited. Crypto often behaves in many strange and bizarre ways, so anything's possible in the future. Just my thoughts ;D

There is no mention of whether OP will use Bitcoin acceptance in a business, there may also be compensation for the service it offers, whatever or those. But as a general answer, it will be a financial problem if the price goes down. Therefore, before accepting or accepting Bitcoin or any other coin, he must know what the possible consequences are. But for those like me who are aware of the possibilities, I would like to still accept BTC, whether its price goes up or down due to preference.

It all relies on the nature of the business and the need for replenishment. If you must buy back for more sales right away, I recommend exchanging your Bitcoin for money. You may make a plan to invest in Bitcoin. The current bear market is an excellent moment to BUY, yet you should use caution because the market could possibly fall further. In general, when investing in Bitcoin, as with any other asset, it is critical to invest only what you can afford to lose.

So a payment method shouldn't have time to accept or deny. Just proceed. They are a couple of Bitcoin payment gateway that you use. Then you may store or convert for fiat. It doesn't matter what will you do with your funds. But holding it would give you more return, but it's up to you totally

For me, there is never a bad time to accept bitcoin, first and foremost, thinking of accepting bitcoin as a payment for goods and services simply means you are a bitcoin believer, if then, you truly believe in bitcoin, then the price fluctuations shouldnt really be a problem because there is a solution to it.
Like the first reply said...you have the choice of either keeping the bitcoins you earn from customers or selling them immediately for a stable coin or for fiat, it's all up to you either to choose to be on the saver side due to bitcoin price uncertainties or to choose to consider those bitcoins paid to you as your own investment in the asset.

In my opinion, I think now is about the best time for anyone to accept or buy bitcoin. We are still in the bearish market and out of sentiment as I've got no proper analysis to back it up at the moment, the market is consolidating and the bulls seems to be gaining a little momentum hence, it is naturally expected that there would be a breakout and the bulls would push through towards a bullish direction.

Be the as it may, you might want to have some predictive ability about it in order to preserve the value of your coin if your receiving it in purchase for goods and perhaps just transfer to usdt but, when that is not the case, you can receive and hodl. Even as a merchant, you can hodl except you've got an urgent need that would require your replenishing of your goods. Either way, there ways to guide against them loses and your coin loosing value.

Agree with what you said. in this case of course it will be very good, the market is in a good condition to accept or buy bitcoins with these records kept until it is possible to make profits as desired.
Now if you look at this ath like a 50% discount then there is no reason to say this is not right and indeed this is very worth it to do in the long run if you have more money there

I agree with you. Since we are in the bearish season, it is a good time to collect more Bitcoins. So, buying or accepting BTC is the right way. The value of Bitcoin will increase drastically in the next bullrun, now (bearish) is the time to get Bitcoin as many as possible at a lower price. During the bearish market, we have a big chance to get Bitcoin with big discounts, so just take advantage of this situation. We have limited time, this red market probably happens only from 2022 to 2023. Or may end earlier.

Bitcoin is a universal digital currency, which can be accepted across the universe as a means of payment to your business and it also determine the size of your business, and is good a one, but always know that Bitcoin (BTC) has a high volatility which can be appreciate or depreciate at any given time.

Yes I do agree, that's why I am thnking why does the ts ask us about the perfect time to start accepting bitcoin when it is always good to accept bitcoin? But maybe if he going to accept it, he needs to learn the volatility of course, maybe he needs to convert it to stable coins? if he will start accepting bitcoin now and not convert it is still good since bitcoin price will be up again sooner or later for sure.

Knowing Bitcoin and learning some ideas about crypto is a great opportunity. Not all people are open minded and accept bitcoin as a currency. Actually it is very hard to educate someone about bitcoin because it is not yhe same with our currency that you will be able to see it personally. Crypto is different from our money. It is not visible so it is very hard to explatmore about it. Then, if you will accept btc.... You are in the right place.🙂

Maybe this is the last time to accept Bitcoin. According to various experts, Bitcoin will soon go to $100K.But one day Bitcoin will be within $100k.Those who want to invest can buy and invest in Bitcoin right now. However, long-term investment must be kept.

You want to start accepting it as a payment method in your business? But first off, you did a right thing because you are observing things well first before you get yourself involved in it. If there's a time for doubt, that should occur before or by the time you are still new to it but you are now more familiar to it, you should not doubt anymore.

Btc is still btc, it didn't change. If there's a change that you see, that is only its price but whatever the price of btc, you can still demand your price in dollar rate if what amount you will get paid and you can always get the same amount of money but of course that is in the form of bitcoin. You can use some third party service if you want something more or you can just accept the btc straight if you want it as default.

To reach 100k that's for sure but it's a matter of time and it's just a prediction even though it's predictions of experts but don't know when it will happen, and if for long term goals and patiently waiting we will reach that price.
and now is still the right time to buy it because the price is 30k in my opinion for us to make a purchase and grow the holdings and hold it for the long term i will not waste this moment and i already did when the bitcoin price hit 28k, and currently the bitcoin price is moving a little up to 32k more and I hope not going back 30k.

It's always an advatantage for us if we do store a lot of bitcoins in our wallet, so yes its always a good time to start accepting bitcoin. Especially at this bearish market, accepting bitcoin like if you have a physical store is certainly a wise move because you will only buy them at a lower value, but you know that when the market turns to bullish, eventually all those bitcoin you have will have a huge value and definitely you will gain high profits if you decide to sell them at their new ATH. So always think for long term benefits and start accepting bitcoin now.

For running a business then majority will really be minding on accumulating fiat as much as they could but for some whom do mind off with some other source of income specially in long term might consider on adding up bitcoin into their portfolio but not all would really be that open minded when it comes to bitcoin where some do still doubts its potential and do decide to stick into those typical fiat payments.
So in speaking with acceptance of bitcoin then it would vary on a certain person specially business owners yet its up to them if they do want to get some btc or not.

It's important to exchange part of the profit made through payments received in bitcoin to a stable currency as soon as he receives it in his wallet to guarantee he is going to have money to re-invest on his business and make another round of profit. Only liquid revenue must be kept in BTC and only if he isn't going to need this money on short run for daily outgoings or emergency purposes.

keeping a reserve in fiat for acquiring raw materials, paying for the business' expenses in general and upgrading the store is necessary to not be surprised by market's bearish seasons and crashes. But the rest of the money can be stored in bitcoin without any problems.

If you believe in the real potentials of bitcoin, i think it will never be a wrong move to start accepting bitcoin either as a payment or from someone who knew you well. Once your intention is to hodl it and only sell when there is a reaonable price to sell, i guess it will be very heplful a lot since you will make big amount of profits out of long term hodling. Also, it could be a reserve funds for emergency cases, so its always a win-win scenario if you have bitcoins to own and hodl.

How do you know this is the last time accepting BTC?
Sure, BTC is likely to reach $100k if we consider how BTC price rises from one bullrun to another bullrun (ATH history). Many experts believe BTC price will pass $100k in the next bullrun. But the next bullrun should be in 2025 if we count it based on BTC bullish cycle every 4 years. So, we still have around 3 years (2022 - 2024) for the bearish. Before the next ATH, BTC price is very possible to drop more. During these 3 years (bearish), we still have many opportunities to accept BTC or buy BTC. Too hurry to say, "it's the last time".

Thinking that Bitcoin will recover and get bullish back again during the next halving, likely, it was the best time to start running a business accepting Bitcoin or potential altcoins like ETH and BNB. But, it was a big question if people are spending their Bitcoin this time knowing that they also holding their coins during the bear season. I think we don't just focus on accepting Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies alone but just consider this as another option.

Damn, this derailed into a full-on price discussion and opinion thread.

Accepting doesn't necessitate holding. You can accept Bitcoin and instantly exchange for Liquid-USD stablecoin or something like that if it suits you better.
In that sense, it's always a good time to start accepting BTC. There's not much more to this when it comes to the original question; I'm wondering how you guys filled 5 pages with such a simple (and simple to answer) question.

If you're thinking about long-term profits, then yes, this is the best time to start accepting Bitcoin as payment method. But not every merchant thinks the same way as you do. Most merchants need the money right away to pay for bills and other life necessities, so accepting an unstable cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin wouldn't be a viable option for them. Unfortunately, volatility and legal issues limits Bitcoin's ability to be accepted worldwide. Regulated stablecoins and CBDCs are a much better option, but they do come with centralization risks.

At least, the number of people using Bitcoin is slowly growing each day. As long as the cryptocurrency remains useful, nothing else matters. Just my opinion :)

If I owned a business I would absolutely accept Bitcoin regardless of what service, product or industry I was operating in. I’m a huge proponent of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain and I believe BTC is an excellent method to exchange value.

Even more than just accepting cryptocurrencies I would use the Blockchain to help with some of my processes. For example, if I sourced any raw materials to make a certain product, it could be very beneficial to use the Blockchain as a transparent ledger for accountability.

You have to accept bitcoin because is bad you accepting it now, bitcoin is currency that someone is not suppose to waste to have it. Because it appreciate often and it depreciates often but according to what you have as decision will tell you if really you will accept it or not. Because for cryptocurrency and for you to profit you will decide for yourself not from what friends and information you have from social media all about. If you have make up mind to accept Bitcoin let be directly to your wallet

The question has been relevant for eight years. It's never too late

I agree that it is never too late, but I believe first we need to clear Bitcoin reputation. Until part of population think that Bitcoin main purpose of usage are shady schemes, buying illegal stuff in darknet, tax avoidance and scam, acceptance of Bitcoin has a huge question mark next to it. In addition, with following continues price drop, Bitcoin does not look like a very reliable payment option for some people. The fear of loosing payment power scares people from acceptance.

I believe your last point which is Bitcoin price volatility is more troublesome with Bitcoins acceptance whether is for Services or goods payment because even I don't see the other listed problem you started as anything cos I know I am not involved in those even if they cannot be ruled out, still will find it difficult to accept it for payment unless we are in a BULL market ;D That is why I am still all in on Bitcoin regardless of what is associated with it.

From what we know from Bitcoin history, BTC always surpasses it's previous ATH. So, today it's a good time for accepting Bitcoin, but under one condition: you must be good with holding your BTC for the next couple of years, or maybe even 3-4 years. Yes I'm positive that another ATH will be achieved, but it can take some time.

Don't get me wrong, I personally think that a new ATH can happen with high probability this very year, but we should be prepared for the worst, you know.

if you could remember as well that when bitcoin was at it all time high of $68k many people still don't find the interest to invest but rather assume its a sort of scheme that can't be phantom at, the whole ideas lies in the personal interest and approach each individual give to it and how government as well make the claim on it as an investment asset and currency, even though bitcoin cannot be altered by government or private bodies but their impact could as well encourage the public towards mass adoption, as at now, the youths have decided to accept bitcoin as their major currency not minding what the government said because they have found an answer to their economic challenges in bitcoin which government couldn't, everyone is liable to accept and make payment in bitcoin and is legal.

If your business could survive the volatility (If in case you're hodling them), then I can say 100% you're good in accepting Bitcoin.
If you accept Bitcoin and then convert it to fiat immediately to avoid volatility and you're only doing this for you and your customer to experience transacting using crypto or Bitcoin, then it's also a good initiative.

Nevertheless, there might be like few people whos willing to pay their precious Bitcoin for a product, goods, or services. So, I think it's always a good choice in accepting Bitcoin especially that we are in a bearish season today.

You can also direct them to the topic here in case they have questions about bitcoin. You on the other hand are freeing bitcoin from those malicious activities. this might be a small thing but you can always start like this and then go big later as long as you know what you are doing.

$31k is quiet low compare seeing the price last year on bitcoin so maybe we can still say that its safe for starting up merchant to accept this because they might see more better result once bitcoin recover backs or hit more huge figures in future. Also this will be beneficial for merchant to accept this because curiosity will start to build up and they might be drag to the hype of bitcoins once its fame spread to their neighborhood also in global markets.

It depends on the source you receiving the coins from.
If you are receiving your Bitcoins from someone trusted, then accept it directly, no need of use of mixer.
Regarding accepting Bitcoins , yes I accept Bitcoins, no matter what’s the price is.
I have known the capacity of Bitcoins, as it is limited in supply. So gradually today or after 1 year the price will increase.
Moreover Bitcoins have already shown it’s true potential when from suddenly rising from 10k usd to 70k usd.
So yes there is no perfect time to accept Bitcoins. Whenever possible buy or mine them.

I don’t have a business where I accept (or don’t accept) bitcoin but I think now is no different than any other time. Bitcoin has always has a level of volatility that I don’t think now is really any difference than any other time. Bitcoin could just as easily go up right now as it could go down.
Volatility is its nature so expect that there will always be volatility regardless of the current value of bitcoin. And asking if this could be a good time to accept bitcoin, it depends on how your perceive it. But if you are thinking for future profitability, accepting bitcoin and owning it is always a wise move for a smart investor. Its price may currently be very low this time but knowing bitcoin's value appreciates, so its good to own and hodl it for some time before you start thinking of selling it.

Then it turns that Bitcoin is just a good long term investment asset. What is the point of world acceptance, if everyone just aim to buy, hold and get rich? Why wish an acceptance, when no one can stop you from downloading Electrum and buying some Bitcoin? What about everyday usage then? Everyone still connect Bitcoin to USD. Everyone wants to buy, hold until price goes extremely high, sell to fiat and spend it. That is the problem. Only few want to convert fiat to BTC and use it in everyday expenses.

I do agree that making a good name for bitcoin is one of the best things you could do for bitcoin. After hearing about bitcoin in so much bad light, if you offered bitcoin as a payment option in a good shop for example, that would be something that will matter and I believe it will mean something and worth something.

That is why I believe that we should be focusing a bit more towards adoption in "cute" places. Like imagine small bakery that is famous for their cupcakes, that is a cute thing right? And imagine a bitcoin accepted here sign up at the front of such a cute place, that would help bitcoin if you ask me, definitely would help people out.

Right. To improve adoption, in my opinion, we need more people using Bitcoin everyday, using it as a currency, not as an investment. We need to have more merchants accept it, we need to have more banks start to accept it, and more ATM’s and point of sale machines to accept it. The fact that on the most basic level Bitcoin is used as an investment is one of the main reasons people do not use it everyday. I believe that if BTC takes a role in everyday expenses, the adoption will explode.

By the way, what do you think - maybe now is the time to start working with bitcoin? It seems like a pretty good deal, the price is not bad.

It's always a good time to start accepting bitcoin because its price will eventually rise up in time and we will witness a new ATH that will bring a lot of profits for us. Otherwise, we will miss another chance again if we continue to be skeptical on buying bitcoin because of its endless risks. However, its always your personal choice at the end of the day since you are the one responsible for your finances but majority of us here always believe that there's no late from accepting bitcoin.

Bitcoin can be accepted at anytime, just that one have to make some decisions on what to do about it. Bitcoin can be Hodl for sometime or it can be swapped to a stable coin or selling it to get a fiat. Bitcoin can be accepted at all times,  their is no particular to accept bitcoin. Bitcoin is a coin for all season,  it is important for one to understand how to go about it.

You have to make it clear to yourself before you decide. If you believe that bitcoin will reach its new ATH and will be very profitable in the near future, so its certainly worth accepting for and hodl it in your wallet. But if you think that bitcoin is just a waste of time and that there are a lot of established altcoins that are more useful than bitcoin, then you don't have to accept bitcoin and store it in your wallet. I guess its only a matter of wise decision-making, but not all is capable of that.

The biggest problem with accepting BTC is, from my own subjective perspective, the fact that people cannot lose their Fiat mindset of having a piece of paper with a number which does not change, physically. They just look at their dollar and see a dollar. They do not see a reason to look at a chart of USD/EUR every 15 minutes. Because it is stable to them even though it is slowly losing value everytime the government decides that it needs something.

Bitcoin on the other hand is currently more of an investment into the future which is why the value of BTC is always so wild.

That's very interesting, isn't it? For most people, 'the dollar is stable', since 1USD = 1USD, just like they deem something like Tether a 'stablecoin', since it's always worth $1 USD. However, it's constantly losing purchasing power; sometimes less, sometimes more. But that doesn't sound very stable to me. At the same time, '1BTC = 1BTC' is seen like more of a meme or generally not very serious at all, but it's actually exactly the same like defining the dollar stable, because $1=$1. Applying the same definition to Bitcoin, would mean Bitcoin doesn't and never lost any value and that it's fully and absolutely stable, since BTC1=BTC1.

What if your business is about agriculture and hardware? Are you sure you would still accept bitcoins? Because your customers are mostly adults or old people that don't have an idea or let say they have some idea but they still prefer to use fiats. That is why it is important to accept btc depending on our business, it is best to accept btc if your business is about computers and gadgets because your customers are mostly young and middle age people that are definitely in to btc and cryptocurrencies.

By using bitcoin you are already using blockchain there but if you want to take it to the next level and use blockchain the literal way then that can also be a good idea.

It’s never early or too late about adopting and accepting Bitcoin. Let’s not focus primarily on the price movement of it but rather its real world use case such as alternative payment for various transactions, especially the guy here in this forum who have paid the doctor with Bitcoin for birth fees (luckily the doctor is a Bitcoin advocate).

As Bitcoin evangelists, our goal remains the same as we are here to become advocates of this cryptocurrency. By any means necessary even if its a slow progress, we still keep spreading the word about Bitcoin for individuals, companies, etc., to accept, embrace and adopt it.

Invest on what you can afford to lose as always and when you do step your foot into crypto then be prepared with volatility risk which had been always the issue when it comes this.
Start on accepting bitcoin or crypto on your business is a personal choice and just like been said by others that if you do able to bare the risk then its your choice to make to accept it
but if not then you can opt not to adapt or integrate it on your business. Good time isnt something could be determined because this market had been unpredictable from the start.

Unlike the market the Bitcoin earning and the value it holds is real. When we discuss about bitcoin for payment, more number of businesses have begun to accept it. Fearing the volatility, businesses aren't getting much into direct acceptance and are using third party service providers. When we get into direct bitcoin acceptance we need the patience, because the volatility can make changes. If the business received $20 and it turned $15 tomorrow we should have a backing to hold until the price bounces back.

It depends. I guess this is a subjective matter which highly relies on the situation of a place where you plan to adopt bitcoin as payment method. If you are going to use accept bitcoin in exchange for products or services, then your rate shouldn't be fixed because it could cost you your supposedly profit if the value of btc is low.

Processing time and fee could be a problem if the network you'll use is usually crowded. In addition, the price fluctuations could be a factor too since most people tend to panic over sudden drops, hence, not really a good time to pay with crypto resulting with probably lower transactions if you're planning to solely set up a payment method with it. If you'll use it as an alternative, perhaps it could work out depending on the network you'll use and strategy you're going to make.

Yes, we have heard few countries already accepting Bitcoin. Really happy to see them doing so. Yes there are huge challenges with the governments. I think that if BTC should be accepted under any method, it is through the use of the wallet or the use of a third party for the means of payment, one that would like it to become famous for this type of payments would be with LN, I know that with Time will be achieved.

For every business that has to do with any item or product to sell I would take advantage of the payment with BTC because it would be faster, safer and would not pay any percentage to the bank, the best of all is that it would not have to adjust accounts with the Banco would make a very large sale, because in several countries when sales are registered for 10 thousand dollars, sometimes the bank must go to the bank, because otherwise it becomes a follow -up problem.

Its always reasonable to accept bitcoin direct into your wallet, regardless of its present value. If you have physical store, or just accepting bitcoin for investment or for future pension, i believe its definitely worth it. Everyone is eager to have it, so why do you hesitate to accept it? If you are worried because it can never be used as payment in most stores, then spend fiat and save bitcoin. There's always  a brighter future for bitcoin than fiat indeed.

This could really work out only if the owner will get the perfect balance of bitcoin and fiat payment. In a business, most particularly with stores that offer products, the owner is required to restock so that the customers can have a wide variety of options to choose from. If most payment would be in crypto, he won't be able to buy immediately the things needed in the store because he first have to exchange it.

Hence, it should be balanced. Or at least have a margin for every bitcoin payment so that you won't be the one losing if ever you'll have to pay for transaction fee for converting it back in fiat. This will also serve as your bounce back if ever bitcoin will suddenly decrease in price.

If you believe in bitcoin that would create a huge price in the future which will eventually change your life, then you should not be skeptical in the first place. Accepting bitcoin direct to your wallet or even thru an exchange will always be worth it knowing it can be very useful not only as a payment or as a tool for investment, but it can be a good source for your retirement too. So start taking the risk and always aim for a brighter future with bitcoin.

"How" was the first thing that came to my mind. If you accept only bitcoin and only on legacy network for example for the things that you sell physically, doesn't that sound a bit wrong? Or if you sell digitally and offer 20+ different coins and have bitcoin with segwit as well, wouldn't that be better?

I feel like that should be the case for most people and that is what I believe is our problem. We just want bitcoin to be accepted everywhere and tell people to accept it, but we never question how optimized it could be and inefficient way of accepting bitcoin would not really increase the adoption too much, it would just be a hassle for people.

Right, accepting BTC can be beneficial not only because you can double up your earnings(if you hold it until the inevitable future ATH), but also because attracting Bitcoin enthusiasts to your place. Put a sign on your door "Bitcoin accepted here", and rumours will spread like wildfire among Bitcoin admirers. They will not necessarily pay you in BTC, but they will definitely visit your place and maybe buy something with fiat money, which would be also good for your business.

because what you need to be here is a strong will and dedication as the market is volatile and may go up and down in time you dont expected .

currently panic has become an obstacle for the value of BTc itself where the value of btc is getting lower to 28k-29k$, hopefully this is the lowest value of BTC, my advice if you are going to buy bitcoin when the rising wave is visible, don't now there is still a possibility that btc is still going down
Like most have said, I think any time you buy Bitcoin is a good time because you should be looking at a long term HODLing and not for quick turnover, and from your statement, you would rather buy when the market has started going up and how do you know that it will continue on that upward movement and not that is was a fake-out like what some will say happened yesterday 06 July 2022 compared to today's BTC price?

You could always have USDT or BUSD or any other stablecoin directly converted system? I mean that way the owner would be able to accept 100+ different coins, which is awesome for the offer, and I did it, I accepted 100+ different coins when I was selling something. Then what happened? I just clicked a button that said "automatically convert to USDT" and that was it. Then I was able to pay the person I got the item, buy more, and resell it again and again.

Turned 1 item that I bought into 73 of them in my hand at some point, without spending a single dime, all paid by the customers I sold to, all automated converted into usdt. After that I stopped and just got rid of the inventory for very cheap and went back to my original job which is writing, and I love it.

Their is No time that is bad to accept bitcoin. Accepting bitcoin depends on you if you need bitcoin or how you can be able to used it expecially when the market is bearish. If someone decides to send you bitcoin it is up to you to know what to do with it.
Yes, when someone sends bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies during the bear market, and we've got the ability to hold then it'll give much added profit in the long term. As said there is no specific time period to accept bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies into business or in common.

When accepting bitcoin what needs to be analysed is the government norms, because if we're in a crypto legal country then it is fair. If not, this could bring problems. So, already certain things to be kept ready to face such situations.

It completely depends on what you're going to do with the Bitcoin on whether you should accept it. If you are selling goods or services, the method of payment does not matter a whole lot if you're going to convert it straight into fiat using one of the many payment processors available for this job. As long as you have factored in all the associated fees into the end price, you should probably accept bitcoin and other crypto because it's possibly another unique selling point you have over rivals. If you are accepting Bitcoin and keeping it, you are vulnerable to all the price fluctuations that come with it - good and bad.

what if you are not using bitcoin instead for investing purposes in long term? does this need to be decided according to the demand and desire?
bitcoin can be bought and keep there is no need for using for a time being , there are so many successful people in crypto world in which they are into holding and made it x10-x100 in 4-10 years.

You can accept bitcoin anytime if you have bitcoin available as a payment method, which will help you gain more customers from bitcoiners and converting bitcoin to fiat is also very simple.

I would recommend learning more about bitcoin if you are considering investing in it, looks like you still don't fully trust bitcoin. You have been following bitcoin for a while but how long and do you understand how it works? I guess you still don't fully understand it. Once you get the hang of it, you can hold bitcoin as it is a long term investment, in the short term it can hurt you a bit.

If you don't care about Bitcoin's price in Fiat terms, then there should be no problem accepting the cryptocurrency as payment method. But most merchants and businesses need to pay their bills and several other costs which can only be paid in Fiat. You can't sustain your business if Bitcoin goes all the way down the drain in an instant.

For this and many other reasons, Bitcoin acceptance will remain low for the foreseeable future. The only way this would change is if the world begins relying on Bitcoin as a standard unit of account. But everything still moves around Fiat, so the odds of this happening are very slim. Hence, accepting both Bitcoin and Fiat would be the only way to go. Just my opinion :)

Well, it could be because a lot of people would already be trying to get rid of their bitcoins at the moment. Since the bitcoin prices are going down, many traders have a feeling that it is not a good asset to keep. But if you ask me, I would suggest taking advantage of the situation and collecting as many bitcoins as you can. Once the bitcoin winter is over, you will enjoy the spring.

It depends on your purpose. If you will reinvest the payments that you will receive then it will be the best time to accept Bitcoin payments. If you're going to use it to continue running your business or for purchasing items then you can choose a mode of payment that will suit your convenience. As long as you won't get charged extra transaction fees then you can choose either fiat or Bitcoin depending on your comfortability.

If we think logically that now is the right time to buy bitcoin because the price is down, but not with some people who are actually hesitant and even afraid to buy because they think if the price of bitcoin might fall even lower, I personally see if there are still many of us who still doubt the future of bitcoin at this time so it seems that we continue to feel afraid to buy bitcoin even at a low price like today.

I think its best time to accept bitcoin for businesses, the current prices of bitcoin are low and any bitcoin transaction is bound to giver higher returns in term of bitcoin. Moreover these prices are bound to rise greatly in future, and this will help to give great gains. So if businesses accept bitcoin now, it will be a meaningful decision.

Their is No time that is bad to accept bitcoin. Accepting bitcoin depends on you if you need bitcoin or how you can be able to used it expecially when the market is bearish. If someone decides to send you bitcoin it is up to you to know what to do with it.

I think here we are not talking about accepting bitcoin at an individual level. Yes, you can accept bitcoin anytime but if you have a shop or business then you should only accept bitcoin as a payment method if it is approved in your country. If you start accepting bitcoin in your business and your government does not legalize bitcoin usage, you can get into trouble.

If you can handle the price fluctuation in the market then you can definitely start accepting bitcoin. Remember that the value of these currencies can fluctuate frequently and badly.

If businesses are thinking long-term, then accepting BTC as payment method today should be a no-brainer. But there are costs that need to be accounted for (utility bills, operational costs, etc), so most merchants/businesses will continue using Fiat as the payment method of choice. Stablecoins are an option, but UST's instability caused a certain level of distrust among the general public. Despite the limitations surrounding Bitcoin, it's still used by some as both a currency and a store of value. It's decentralized and open source, meaning you can do whatever you want with it (as long as it's legal, of course). Adoption for BTC is slowly increasing each day, so it's likely we'll see more businesses/merchants accepting BTC as payment method in the future. Just my opinion :)

Thats true. Its a must to know the risk of accepting Bitcoin because it is high volatile. But if you're a crypto enthusiast and believing of its potential then you can start accepting regardless of the price.

Currently the price is low, a good time to accumulate. Therefore accepting Bitcoin for your business/service is an advantage because the price has a high chance to increase in the future. Thus if you're prepared for the worse case and willing to wait just incase the value turn downward then you can do it.

As a crypto user I don't mind bitcoin either. Bitcoin still has a good future, there will be new ATH always being achieved. A good time to start stacking bitcoins for the long term. However, to accept Bitcoin or as payment adoption for the Business or services we manage, it still requires clear regulation. Without clear regulations, it will violate the law. Each country has its own regulations regarding the rules for accepting Bitcoin.

Are you talking about investing in or accepting bitcoin for your business? If you are interested in investing, a bear market is a good time because you do not have to wait to buy because bitcoin is extremely inexpensive to purchase and hold. In terms of accepting bitcoin for business, you can start whenever you are ready to do so. If you are worried about the price movement of bitcoin then after receiving your payment in bitcoin you can convert them to fiat right after, very easy and fast.

It’s never a bad time to start accepting bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin has always been a matter of peak hype as many people regard it as a valuable asset against inflation. Currently as the value of bitcoin has fallen and the market is in a bearish stage, it is the best time to buy bitcoin at a lower price. Analysts expect and are pretty positive about the hope that bitcoin will recover soon and reach the $48k mark by the end of the ear.

I see that the time to accept bitcoin is now, and those who do not implement payments with bitcoin will lose the opportunity, right now bitcoin has a good price, some say it is cheap, if we consider that bitcoin can reach more than 100,000 dollars so yes, it is very cheap, because 20,000 dollars at the possible price that we all expect would be a win, I always seek to have a bitcoin, it is difficult and the road is quite hard, but I want to have bitcoin before it reaches that incredible price, because I know it will be more difficult to reach 1btc.

If you are thinking of accepting bitcoin in business you are comfortable. When the market price of bitcoin it will compensate for the price of the product you’re selling.

If you can wait for a while, you will be fine as per me. Bitcoin is showing downward movements at the moment and we cannot be sure about how it is going to behave in the future. If it keeps going down, you may be at a loss.

What is the point for a business to accept the bitcoin as a means of payment if it is immediately sold? When converting to fiat, even immediately, you will need to pay an exchange commission, which means that there are some losses. No business likes losses. For the most part, I think that the acceptance of bitcoin by businesses is mostly a PR stunt to attract new customers. On the other hand, if a business accumulates btc for hold, received for the sale of its services or goods, then these funds are in some way “frozen”, because they cannot be spent on business development and you have to wait in anticipation of a profit.

Despite its volatility, accepting bitcoin as form of payment on your business is always a good decision. If you want to avoid its quick ups and downs, you can just immediately convert it to fiat or stablecoin to not lose profit. If you have a deep capital on your business, then you can save some percentage of it for the future. It can also help to attract more customers to support your business once they knew you are spreading awareness about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

If BTC is directly converted to fiat, why not pay fiat directly if you don't want to lose when prices are unstable?
I know every business must have a desire from the owner to be appropriate with btc payments so I think it's good to save it for the future even though it doesn't maintain stability in the near future.
But I don't know how many other businesses that accept btc are they selling it immediately or are they still holding it.

I don’t think your business will survive if bitcoin is doomed. It would be better if you invest the small portion of what you are earning.

The existence of a business has nothing to do with accepting bitcoin. I think the op is looking to use bitcoin as a payment method for his business besides fiat. Accepting bitcoin payments will not affect or hurt the business, but simply expand the payment method to attract more customers. If the op is living in a country where bitcoin is legal, this is a good decision as he will have another customer for his business, bitcoiners.

It also depends on how the OP looks at this market, does he believe that btc has future?
Because if he is not convinced with this market, better keep his payment method in fiat.
I do agree that it will just open for another payment method in his shop.
But it doesn't mean, it will have significant effect on his business.
So whether the OP will add btc payment, is all up to him. Because this is just another payment opportunity for him

I think, accepting bitcoin in your business is more favourable in this season of bearish in the community, because those business men that accepted bitcoin as a payment are really improving in profits making compared to those that only accept fiat money in their businesses. Now that Bitcoin is more popular in the whole world, it will be a good choice for you to accept Bitcoin in your business so that you will start enjoying what other people that accepted bitcoin in their businesses are enjoying in the environment.

As ordinary investors, it is difficult for us to judge when the real "valuation bottom" and "valuation top" will occur.
If you force yourself to "buy the bottom" and "escape to the top", it is often prone to hesitation and anxiety. And if we calm down and look at every market ups and downs from a longer-term perspective, we will find that temporary fluctuations may just be "small pits" in the market.
Therefore, to do a good job in asset allocation planning, the level of valuation is not a point that needs to be particularly tangled.

of course what you say is very true, friend, that accepting bitcoins in every business that is run will certainly make it easy for many people and obviously makes it easier for those who want to use it is something that should be done for business people. but not all countries can accept it as a recognized means of payment, of course this is also an obstacle in itself. so it really has to be adjusted to the country where we run the business whether we can fully accept bitcoin.
in principle it is clear that progress regarding bitcoin should be able to be adopted by business people to be able to adapt to this progress and that is necessary.
