Title: How do you keep track of your portfolio stats?

How do you keep track of your portfolio stats?

I currently have a wallet holding all of my cryptos, and I was wondering what the cost basis for each of my crypto is or how much of an actual net profit or loss that I’ve made from each investment. I’ve used different exchanges and all are held in a wallet that doesn’t keep track of this information.

Do you guys have a method other than manually tracking information like your cost basis with a spreadsheet? I’m considering just biting the bullet and doing it that way but want to make sure that there might be a much easier way of doing this.

Thanks.

Please download coinmarketcap app in playstore or appstore. You just need to sign up to create a new account and you can use portfolios feature on CMC. that will help you to track your profit or loss from what you have been holding in your asset list. It's pretty easy to do that. It takes only a few minutes and then you can try to put all of your token in your CMC app to track it anytime and see how many profit or loss gained from your portfolios.

^ Yeah CMC is one of those apps available.

I used to monitor using Blockfolio before it was purchased by FTX exchange. It pretty has much everything with a slick design. If you prefer web-based dashboard instead of mobile apps, there's also cryptocompare (https://www.cryptocompare.com/portfolio/). Just a reminder that the convenience you're searching for comes with risks especially if you're going to connect your exchange accounts.

Tracking your cryptocurrency assets could use coinmarket cap and bookmark with your coin holding, you don't need access and open different exchange market every day because you can see price of your coin on coinmarket cap. But I hold my assets have been listing on many exchange, not hard when checking about my coin dump or pump. Just opening with Coinmarketcap and check with my assets holding have been pump or not. You can log in to Coinmarket cap account and submit with your assets kind holding, than input with how many altcoin assets do you save, every day just check on Coinmarketcap only about your fund up or down.

I use Coingecko to keep track of my portfolio. The reason I use this application is because it provides the necessary features such as market track, whitelist, fees, profit/loss in 24 hours, etc. It can also be installed on Android/iOS or the Web, so the Coingecko app is perfect for a user like me.

You've got the answer from @aubert response (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5408525.msg60678244#msg60678244), AFAIK, CMC is the best application that you can use to track your crypto portfolio, they will provide data about price fluctuations on a regular basis. Why do I say CMC is the best? Currently we have 2 major platforms for checking price data, market cap and other data. They are Coinecko and Coinmarketcap, but from these two websites, I prefer CMC because they present data faster than Coinecko (according to my experience).

I think that one is only good if the token is also listed on cmc but what if most of the tokens you hodl are not listed there? This is why I don't use it or any other app to track my portfolio due to lack of coin support but I just pasted my wallet address in either etherscan or etherplorer.io and then I can see all the tokens that I have including their value but of course, that is if they are already listed on a crypto exchange.

The only basis that I use to see if I am gaining or losing is I check the percent shown beside of the value of the coins. If there is a big percent added then that is a sign that I am earning a lot but if it's negative then that's an obvious loss.

Good solutions have been offered to you already, however I have a question, how many coins you are holding that it is such a big problem for you to keep on top of things? Because for someone which has a portfolio of 5 to 10 coins then it is not a big problem to check this information in a matter of minutes, something like this would not become a problem until a person was holding something like 20 or more coins, and in that case my focus would be on reducing the number of coins I am holding.

Sign-in on congecko and and build your portfolio from your profile and you will be able to keep track and know your net profit and loss. i found CG much more user friendly and very simple to understand compare to cmc. perhaps you can also check out blockfolio, it has been long since i use it, they may have update some more features on it that can be useful.

I don't have that type of monitoring. What I do is just look at the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly projection that Ledger Live has. That's the feature that I like most on them. Even if your hardware wallet isn't connected, the data is there and it's real time if it's the daily.

Delta investment tracker (https://delta.app/en/). But i have to say it's addictive and i rather disable any notifications, sometimes real time bear market flash crash sales are just too scary and you want to panic sell when it hits to your phone in real time

just use CMC for that, by far it has the most accurate data in regard of the value of your investments.
also it is a company under binance, so the data isn't gonna that far off from the binance if you're using that platform.
there are many other application for something similar like that, though i'm sure their data more or less gonna come from the data that CMC has.

Like aubert mentioned, just download CMC. The feature that you are looking for is pretty much there already and you would not to download any other apps that would potentially even risk your phone getting malware.
Since I am a long-term holder, I do not have all the time to just look at my app, so I would just keep it simple and search "btc to usd" usually, lol. :D

I only invest in Bitcoin at the moment.

I think you can try the feature on coinmarketcap, there you can track the ups and downs of your crypto coin value and I think this is very helpful for many people. But the weakness is that only coins or tokens that have entered the coinmarketcap list can do it

if you use a desktop, you can go directly to the official website coinmarketcap.com, there we can check whether the new coins (new projects) that we have are already on the list or not and of course for large coins it is very easy to track.

especially for new coins that are not on the list of any exchangers, you must always follow the information from the development team, whether it's from telegram, twitter, reddit, bitcointalk, and all the social media they use to provide the latest information regarding their coin project.

If you have a portfolio on crypro exchange then you can add it to watchlist, usually exchanges have such a feature, and if you have tokens that are not listed on CMC and Cex exchange, then you can use tools from Dex exchange to view them manually like poocoins.
I currently use Lunar to view my portfolio, I can track trending topics from social media and the price increase of my coins. https://lunar.io/

Take a look at Rotki (https://rotki.com). You can connect the app with the exchange API or any address. It is also a freemium and open-source app. So, if you worry about privacy concerns, you can calmly use that since the data are saved locally. Besides that there are many features you might need, like tax reports. I suggest you visit their website and the documentation page for a complete look of the features.

A comment I made on another thread:

I don't know if @OP already made the choice, but I wonder why Rotki (https://rotki.com/) hasn't been suggested yet.

The base application is fully open-source and it met all OP requirements:

1. Adding Manual Balances. (https://rotki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/usage_guide.html#adding-manual-balances)
2. Adding manual trades (https://rotki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/usage_guide.html#adding-manual-trades)
3. Creating a profit/loss report (https://rotki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/usage_guide.html#creating-a-profit-loss-report)
4. Locally stored data (https://rotki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/faq.html#why-should-i-use-it)

I do personally use Rotki, and so far so good to meet all of my simple portfolio tracking tools. So, @OP if you haven't decided yet, try to look around on that, see if it's a match.

Have other alternative ways how keep checking assets price going up or down with eitherscan or bscscan depending coin network kind, but not all coins can tracking price on etheirscan because depending get list on exchange market or not. Usually I think OP will hold coin have been listed on exchange market, if difficult checking with CMC, I think you was right trough eitherscan but he needs to save and hold assets on wallet not exchange. I think keep faster and easy when checking assets holding on CMC, just use with how much assets saving and will show about values how much with the OP coin or token.

There’s a lot of apps that helps you track your Profit and Loss for your investment instead of using spreadsheets and manually encode all your asset and update it in regular basis just to see the percentage changes of your investment. I usually use blockfolio app for tracking my investment because it has a feature that will let you modify the volume and price when you purchase your tokens. It gives you a real time PnL base the actual price of tokens. Coinmarketcap and Coingecko has this kind of feature too.

Many exchanges provide features for the portfolio track, and what I like is Coinbase, I have used a coinbase for more than 5 years, there is no problem, and all assets are easily monitored, even we can activate all notification features, for example if there is an up price or drop significant so that it can immediately make decisions.

If you are using binance exchange then you can also use one of their products coinmarketcap. It's a free app and you can keep track of all your crypto assets without having to connect your wallet or log into your account often. Personally, I like coingecko more because I find them to update quickly and the application on IOS, coingecko seems to work better than CMC.

If you have few coins and do not want to transfer data to various services, then use Excel. This is the safest solution :) To control investments of 7-10 coins, this is enough for me. I don't use coinmarketcap, coingecko and other apps because they may share your data with other companies.

Just to inform you. I see most members have suggested Blockfolio here, It got acquired by FTX and now the app is called FTX if you search it up on Google play

There are more apps that can enable to track your portfolio without much hassle.
1. Delta portfolio manager (https://delta.app/en)
2. Bituniverse (https://www.bituniverse.org)
3. 3commas - it's a trading bot app but has an option to watch your portfolio (https://3commas.io)
4. coinstats (https://coinstats.app)
5. The crypto app (https://thecrypto.app)

So many people have been mentioning the right applications but for me CMC was the best one. There are some exchange sites who were also allowing you to track your portfolios through their app. CMC, coingecko, dropstab are the best in my opinion based on the so many good reviews that already received by these sites. You can try to use these app to track your portfolios easily. It's quite easy to do that.

I usually have three or a maximum of five coins/tokens in my portfolio. That's why I don't use portfolio tracking apps to keep track of them. I use the exchange's own app for price tracking, but I still have Coinmarketcap's app on my mobile. I guess it will not be easy for me to change my habits and I will continue to have Coinmarketcap's application on my mobile phone from now on...

Why would this be that hard? I mean most exchanges literally give this away to you and you could use that to see how you are doing. I believe that the crypto world is not an easy one to understand, the mathematics behind it is not easy to understand, all of that is fine but at the end of the day there are a ton of tools that will allow you to keep track of it all, and having your exchange do it for you is a lot better in the long run.

I get that it may not be a great detailed one, but it is more than enough for me, I get to see all my past moves, all my current moves and all my spot trades and all my profits and losses and everything I need, its more than enough to me.

Coinmarketcap is very good for keeping tracks, there used to be a time when blockfolio was good for this but I guess they rebranded to FTX? I am not sure, but right now coinmarketcap tracker is absolute stunning, it works perfectly with good interface.

I recall using blockfolio to track myself portfolio, the app was updated to FTX, I guess it's because FTX bought the app or project. FTX is a great platform for checking and updating your portfolio to see the profit and losses as they occur. You also have the opportunity to link your account on the exchange with the app using the feature.

Actually, for this purpose services that track the profitability and status of your crypto portfolio are excellent. There are even demo versions of such portfolios where you can practice being an altcoin investor.

Coinmarketcap, Koinly, CoinTracker, CoinGecko (and many others) make it easy to monitor the state of your cryptocurrency investments. And no manual methods and excel spreadsheets are needed anymore.
