Title: Why I have bought Bitcoin ?
Post by: DigitalMonk on August 19, 2022, 03:26:10 AM
It is a big question for myself as well as for the Chancellor, why I have bought Bitcoin ?  The truth is actually I am living on Bitcoin for the last six month on Bitcoin. Some one donated some Bitcoin to me and as I have no income because I am a Monk, so I have spent about $5000 dollars worth of Bitcoin to buy foods and pay for the bills.

This is a real story in my life. Now I have learn about how the Bitcoin can be useful for daily living. I am really thanking to the unknown man who donated a tiny amount of Bitcoin that really helped me over the last 6 months. I have now decided to become a member of this forum and contribute my experience to encourage others to invest in Bitcoin.

I am glad to know the benefits of Bitcoin, I wish, I could have join this forum much earlier.

I run a Charity. I am a Monk. I need some help from the Bitcoin community. I am thankful to all those peoples who thought me about Bitcoin for the last few days.
I have story to tell, how I have come to know the Bitcoin and finally join this community ?

You seems to have many good stories hidden in your mind that we in this forum community can positively learn from and can be convincing enough that in Bitcoin we are dealing with something that can be a big tool to be helping humanity in many ways. I am glad to have meet you here and you being involved with charitable work can be a way for some of us to also extend some help to people who needs some lift. I am then looking forward to your inspiring post, sir.

I'm glad and happy a Monk is using bitcoin and he's quite positive and have the mind to spread about bitcoin. Nowadays more charities have started to accept donations in the form of cryptocurrencies. This doesn't mean they accept bitcoin alone, altcoins were also accepted. Already with the help of forum members there were more charity programs being run by individual members who have dedicated themselves for the social service.

I am glad to know the benefits of Bitcoin, I wish, I could have join this forum much earlier.

First of all, I welcome you our beloveth Monk to the Bitcointalk community, the only place on the face of the planet to learn all you need to know about Bitcoin and it's ecosystem. And secondly, here on this forum, we have got experts and legends who has been into the crypto business for more than 10yrs, so in case of any further assistance, you can always feel free to ask questions here and you will be clarified. So please Monk, as you have just started your crypto journey, please never forget to keep your Bitcoin wallet 12 digits seed phrase in a save place, because that's the only way you can recover your funds if incase your device gets stolen or damage. And secondly, always remember to invest an amount you could to lose, as the Bitcoin market is always volatile

I am Monk, I have dedicated my life to do charity work. I doing the charity work for 30 years. When I heard about Bitcoin I created a BTC Address and  posted it in my twitter account. Some donated, about $200 dollars worth of Bitcoin. When the price went high, I had to sold my charity Bitcoin to a friend who is a Bitcoin investor.

I got $5000 dollars. It helped me greatly over the last 6 months. Bitcoin is brilliant. It works. I am learning about how to manage Bitcoin transaction. I will publish my life experience what Bitcoin has done for me ?  It is an amazing story. I am sure many people will like to read my story and soon they will understand the truth about "Bitcoin and Me".

Bitcoin is the catalyst, a liberator. Satoshi Nakamoto is a time traveller. I myself is just a Monk, Digital Monk. I like decentralisation. The monetary system should be decentralised. Bank should not mess around with people's money and lend it to generate huge amounts of usury. I have got over $4000 dollars bank debts with Amex. They are collecting high interest from me. I had to use my credit card to borrow money to keep running my charity work

Six months ago I ran out of funds. I have no income. So I have used the charity Bitcoin to buy foods only. I live a simple life, one bread and one bottle of water. I tried to raise money by taking a further loan of $20000 dollars from my banks but the banks have refused to lend me money because of, I am a Monk. I cannot go back to labour market to earn wages by working for some corporation as a slave labour.

I cannot work and earn money as a worker. It does not mean that I am a lazy person. I do charity work 18 hours daily. This is my life. I do not like to earn money and pay 30 percentage income tax. I was not born to pay tax any tax collector. Collecting taxes from citizen is illegal.

Governments and central banks together print money out of thin air and deceve the 99% peoples. Why then the workers, the wage slave has to pay income tax ?

I want to know how to import my "Bitcoin Charity Address" in Electrum or in Bitcoin Core. I have downloaded Bitcoin Core and Electrum but I cannot run a full Node as I have no funds to down load the whole 500 GB data for lack of funds. I am stacked downloading upto 2018. So I have turned off my PC.

Use Electrum then, it is "light" so you don't need to download the whole blockchain, just the block headers which is about 56 MB and syncs fast. All you have to do is to create a new wallet and in the wizard window select "Import bitcoin address or private keys" option and in the next window enter your private key to import it in your Electrum wallet.

As a prerquirement you must educate yourself about security, even cold storage and if you can you should buy a hardware wallet to make things easier and safer with little effort.

When I hear the word "Monk" .... I immediately think of a wise old man on top of a high hill... far away from all the influences of modern technology.  :D  It is refreshing to see that even Monks are adapting to society and modern world now.  ;)

Just a warning... DO NOT use this forum to ask for donations... because it is against the rules. You can post some pictures of your charity work to add some credibility to your post. (remember... anyone can come to a forum like this and post anything.... there are a lot of scammers out there)

If you post something believable .... people might reach out to you.... like that person that gave you the $5000.  ;)

One thing in this world I've not heard got interested in the blockchain network is religion. Now a religious is here, if dedicated, you can think of a strategy to implement a religious ecosystem other than charity, though important, prayers do wonders. If they Is a selected amount of monks that meditates and pray for the Bitcoin ecosystem it'll go a long way as they are many challenges, ill stories, and disputes going on in the market which your spirituality can be of great help to resolve gradually.

In the topic title, you talk about buying bitcoins, but in fact, you owned bitcoins through donations, which is the most difficult way to get bitcoins because it is not permanent and you need to be creative.
Overall, it's hard to get a $5000 donation so it looks like you're running something great or useful, but we're in an anonymous multinational forum so you need to prove your story if you want to get donations here.

I don't know if monks are allowed to work online, but you can easily collect that amount.

I have not come to this forum to beg money or asking for donation. Please read my first post. Any body can make up stories and publish it to attract customers to invest in their Ponzi scheme to scam honest investors.

1. I am here to learn about how to manage BTC address and how to use the Blockchain and Bitcoin QT.

2. Yes, you are right, monks are usually live in the mountain and they have long white beard and hear. Ofcourse, you are sound intelligent. I am a Monk, Digital Monk. I am a old Monk.
I do live in the Mountain of many trees and flowers.
All my hairs and beard are purely white.

3. I had a big personal loan I could not pay in full. So I had to sell my first Bitcoin Thythe which I sold $5000 dollars. I spend $1200 to buy Laptop $200 buying mobile phone. About $1500 I spents to help others, homeless people. Rest of the money I spent on myself buying foods and waters and fruits over the last 6 months. I am not making up story but telling the true story. I keept the proof of work and evidences cryptographically in my personal digital diary because it is bit of true history of "Bitcoin and Me".

* I am not here to beg money or asking for donation. Those who in this forum asking for donation or begging for Bitcoin have their Bitcoin wallet in their account. Please do not misunderstand me.

I have some personal loan from Credit card which I have mention does not mean I am asking money to any members. I have mention it because the Citi Bank is charging too much interest, and I want the Angel of Heaven to return back to the earth and closedown all the banks and establish the Bitcoin Bank through out the world and liberate mankind from evil of Bretton Wood Economic Policy.

My title of the Thread is " Why I have bought Bitcoin? " but not why I have sold Bitcoin that I have received as thythe from one of my devoted follower, who has made a good amounts of money by trading Bitcoin.

Please know and remember this, those who come to this forum may be young people, old people, poor people or rich people. Also honest people or scammers. Unless you know their true identity it is unwise to thing that every one is here to scam or decieve others.

Commenting on this wise to some is unwise. I am not here to convince any to believe in my story and donate Bitcoin to my charity. Some body is a Monk and running a charity does not mean they all are poor and vagabond.

Therefore, please keep a note that I am here to learn about the new Protocol which has been implemented in Bitcoin QT.

Thank you all to visit my thread. I wish you a good luck and become rich in Bitcoin. Heaven bless you.

indeed very many people are helped by bitcoin, especially when the world economy is sluggish, bitcoin helps them a lot, such as people who are expelled from companies and become unemployed, but with bitcoin finally many of them are interested in investing in bitcoin and finally they are successful, it is proven bitcoin can help people's economy.

and simple examples like your experience helped by bitcoin.

but in fact you get donations from other people, sorry if your goal is to ask for donations in this forum you violate the forum rules,
without you providing proof of your social work you are cheating the donors,
then, you are a tech-savvy monk if you can get to know bitcoin

He was only helped by himself by actively working to find Bitcoin and also his attitude that already believed in Bitcoin so much that there was an improvement in him on the economic side for his own life. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that is already very valuable and also valuable because many people like it at this time. And for the problem of whether or not someone is helped in terms of the economy through Bitcoin, it depends on how active someone is in finding Bitcoin and storing it well.

"because i don't want it to be controlled" and if i have valuables, i want to be the only one who can dispose of them. If someone else (even a normal bank) can decide about my money. We still need banks at the moment, but if you can manage your money on your own, why not? So that's why i buy bitcoin, i have access all by myself and i decide when and how many i sent.

It's really a real story?

My friend is a Buddhism and we have talking about his religion, AFAIK monk doesn't have access about money, good cellphone etc but their live are based on people who want to donate food, medicine and cloak. They're no longer think about his family, his friends, or his appearance, what they do is only focus about their rules to achieve more higher rank. I don't believe about your story since my friend isn't lying, I hope someone who also a Buddhism could confirm this.

This is what I’m actually thinking. A monk usually focus on prayer on temple and other things related in the temple. Having a charity as monk sounds a bit strange. The act of helping other people is good but being a monk should have other priorities than this. Besides having a charity means you are spending a lot of time on doing things what monk is not doing especially your interest on joining the forum. His statement sounds like he is not really a monk because he has a lot of free time to spend online.

I also think 5000 is a lot of money for a monk to spend in just six months. In many countries that amount is a lot of money for some people even in a year. It must be some monk who likes to do sinful things, otherwise I don't quite understand how it was possible to spend that money somewhere in a monastery. To me this thread reeks of a scam.

Digital Monk

When I read continuously how you announce yourself as a monk, I had to visit my dictionary again to make sure I have not forgotten the real meaning of a monk and monastery. Though I am not surprised that you said you are a digital monk, so you are digitalized. Don't also forget that we don't know you in person and many will chose to believe or disbelieve you. Meanwhile I can go create an account right now and call myself an Internet Monk, hope you will believe me and send me some bitcoin.

Again, you asked him to edit his post, then you quoted the post, it means that even if he edits it, it can no longer change. Then you threatened to delete his post. Can you do it? Yes, if it's a self moderated thread. Then you also threatened to block him, how will you achieve that? I guess with your spiritual powers, because in the forum you don't have the ability to block anyone, the worse you can do is to ignore the user.

This was my same thoughts. I do not like doubting too much since it screws my head thinking about it, but OP seemed to claim to have $5000 worth of Bitcoin. I do not know any in my social circle that have Buddhism religion, but as far as I know or as far as I am aware, monks don't touch these techy stuffs.
I wish I could confirm your thought as well there, Plaguedeath.

There is really something wrong within OP's story. He said on his first paragraph he doesn't have source of income then suddenly on the last line of his statement he said he has a charity. How could he have a charity if he just depended on someone's donation to survive for 6 months.

Also, I'm curious what country he is living that he is able to spend $5000 worth of bitcoin to pay bills and buy neccessities. Even if he converts it to fiat, that amount is large to not be noticed by authorities or bitcoin institution in their country.

The truth is actually I am living on Bitcoin for the last six month on Bitcoin. Some one donated some Bitcoin to me and as I have no income because I am a Monk, so I have spent about $5000 dollars worth of Bitcoin to buy foods and pay for the bills.

I run a Charity. I am a Monk. I need some help from the Bitcoin community.

I'm somehow not interested in knowing where you get your bitcoin from [buying it or someone donating it], but I get the gist of what you're trying to say that you've spent $5K in bitcoin all this time buying food and paying bills. Those are some of the things you can legally do with bitcoin in any country where it is legal to pay bitcoin as legal tender, but you will have to convert it to fiat if your state doesn't legalize it as legal tender.

I run a Charity. I am a Monk. I need some help from the Bitcoin community. I am thankful to all those peoples who thought me about Bitcoin for the last few days. I have story to tell, how I have come to know the Bitcoin and finally join this community ?
I don't think you are here to ask for help like charity from the bitcoin community just because you have no income as a monk, this is not a very helpful idea for you to earn money because you are not the only person without income who roam the forum. You can ask the community to help you understand bitcoin instead of asking them to give charity to whatever your current job is.

Shouldn't Monks not hang out with the internet or social media, how can you do that especially with Bitcoin, I doubt it, just in case you bring the name of a monk in asking for charity funds, are you a modern monk.

For $ 5000, I can also use it for more than 1 year if you only use it for eating and living normally. that's big money.

It seems odd to me that you mention people giving bitcoins to you, then you've spent $5000 bitcoins to buy food and pay bills, and it's also not clear that the gifts are personal to you, or to the community you run. Giving bitcoins whether in the form of money or sent through your wallet.

But in terms of learning, I think you are very right in this forum, because there are so many people who are perfect in giving views on bitcoin.

If true, this is rather unique and looking forward to more stories.  However, there are some things that seem a bit off but maybe some things got lost in translation?  Since this isn't costing me anything, will give the benefit of the doubt for now as time will tell.  But the minute a donation is solicited, a significant portion of the community will consider you a scammer.

Op I see that you mentioned about buying Bitcoins in the title, but in reality you got it through donations.
And you also only showed interest in the coin, as it helped to buy you food and shelter? This is nothing but just the necessity that pulled you towards the Bitcoins.
Why don’t you thought of earlier joining this community when you had 200$ worth of Bitcoins? You only came up here after seeing how valueable Bitcoins can be (200$ turned into 5000$).
I know I might sound rude, but that’s what i can see from your post OP.
Nevertheless let’s forget the past, and I am sure you will definitely contribute here in the forum and also to the Bitcoins.

That guy is certainly generous if this is a true story of yours. Don't mind it if most of us would say "if this is true" because there have been impostors before that have told stories of theirs that really were touching but it tend out that they have a hidden agenda with those stories.
So, you can't blame if somebody thinks that your story is half truth. But anyway, good luck with your journey as I think where this is going but hopefully that I'm wrong with that assumption.

I empathize with you in your situation of things and to what you believe in, and you're very much welcome to the forum,
But I stand to correct the notion that "collecting taxes from citizens is illegal", such notion is wrong in the sense that should citizens and corporations desist from paying taxes to the authority  such society will diminish in the following ways:
1: such society will diminish in social infrastructure, welfare and basic amenities.
2: A society where citizens refuse to pay tax, such citizens will have no right to hold it's government accountable and dutiful.
3: Such society will continue to be lagging behind in the global community as their government can't have the resources needed to compete with their counterparts globally.
4:It is an obligation more of a duty a citizen owe to her country  to pay tax in as much as they're working

Like how on earth can the government of a country be runned in terms of providing security both internal and external, and many more to her citizens if taxes ain't paid as due according to law?

OP's story is indeed quite strange, How a monk who usually stays away from worldly life can have a Bitcoin wallet, Op should have an understanding of the development of the digital world. Maybe the OP falls into the modern Monk category.
Sometimes in life things happen that are out of the ordinary, and someone who does things differently is a special person.

$5000 dollars worth Bitcoin is lots, you can feed 5000 people a nice mean in a developing country. Where I live, here a bottle of water is $1.5 dollars to $2.50 dollars. 4 apples cost $3 dollars, cup of tea cost $4 dollars, 800 grams Bread cost $3.60 dollars. One month Internet and phone call bill is $40 dollars.

Charity work is my passion. I like helping people to become financially independ. I gave 1500 to 3 poor men each 500 dollars to start trading vegetables and fruits.

Before I became Monk, I was a stock maker trader and banker. I had good peaceful nice life.  I was helping many people to start new businesses and make money.

I was supporting charity work. I was doing a lots of research work new kinds of banking. Then a cyclone came in my life I was over drown by a tsunami. I knew how to swim and come out of deep water, there were big sharks and whales and dolphin. Then an angel came and picked me up and helped me. Later I was conducting ancient Egyptian governance research. Which led me to learn about esoteric principles.

Then One day suddenly found myself in a dream flying like an Eagle. One the next week, I flown 8000 kilometres through the sky it was fun for me. Then living in the most prosperous imperial city of the world. Later a situation pushed me to become Monk, DigitalMonk.

I am not here in this forum to ask for donation, I asked for help to know how to import Blockchain.Com address to Bitcoin Core. Some people thought I am asking for donation. Some one said, I could be an scammer.

I am not here to any nonsense. I am here to learn. If some can teach me, I am willing to learn and turn the clock back.

So, some people will learn from my example.

Perhaps, a story can easily be made without doing this in actuality. Because I don't think that Monks or let's say monks today are already engaged in social media which leads this person to know about Bitcoin or crypto. I guess everyone is leaving this in doubt and OP, you'd rather be true to us, to the crypto community.
I know everyone has their story to tell but in your position OP and you are talking about crypto, that seems unbelievable isn't it?

When I hear the word "Monk" .... I immediately think of a wise old man on top of a high hill... far away from all the influences of modern technology.  :D  It is refreshing to see that even Monks are adapting to society and modern world now.  ;)

Just a warning... DO NOT use this forum to ask for donations... because it is against the rules. You can post some pictures of your charity work to add some credibility to your post. (remember... anyone can come to a forum like this and post anything.... there are a lot of scammers out there)

If you post something believable .... people might reach out to you.... like that person that gave you the $5000.  ;)

I kinda had the same feeling when I read that OP is a monk but then the his last post above makes me think he is a fraud.
Can you imaging a monk telling words like "I cannot go back to labour market to earn wages by working for some corporation as a slave labour. " or "I was not born to pay tax any tax collector."
These are the words from OP himself and I do not think that a genuine monk would say these things.
He is also threatening others in his posts. I am certainly sure he is not a genuine monk.

Your story is very interesting. But I wonder when someone donates $200 worth of bitcoin and when you sell it, you can get $5000. Because when we look at the history of the market, if you get a $200 donation, that means the bitcoin price is still very low, around $1,200 and around 0.23 btc and for bitcoin price at $1,200, it was around 2017. (correct me if I'm wrong).

And if you sell it at the highest bitcoin price, say at $61k, that means from that 0.23btc, you will get $14232. And I'm also curious at what price you sell bitcoin so you can get $5000.

But whatever it is, investing in bitcoin can provide great benefits in the future and many people have proven it. Now all you need to do is keep learning how to invest in bitcoin properly and when you can buy bitcoins again.

It is a good news to me and the entire community that you were about to learn how Bitcoin works from people that cares about you and spending the donation that was given to you in Bitcoin which is very much impressive. You also need to understand how this community works so you could learn more about the entire Bitcoin networks.

I always feel good when I see people talking about how Bitcoin had help them in making transactions and buying goods and paying for services. If you intend to ask for donations here to support your charity organization, then I think you have to bring proofs of what you have achieved and how you are running you charity organization.  You also have to create a thread like this one and write to things about your charity organization so people can support you.

It is actually rare to hear that a monk has utilized bitcoin as a means of living.

Just a curious question, since you vowed your life to serve and live as a monk, do you not get any savings from the establishment that you are working on? In addition, how did the person donate 1 BTC to you? Did he provided a wallet with 1 BTC inside or do you have a local exchange where a wallet is present? How were you also able to convert your BTC to cash?

Given that exchanges are strict with withdrawals, I am very curious as how you managed to live using BTC in the past few months.

If your real intention is to really learn, You should create post on Beginners and Help or Bitcoin Technical Discussion rather posting here on Bitcoin Discussion board. Your main post is about your story and you want to promote your foundation using your monk background which will obviously makes wonder other people if you are legit or not. It’s not ordinary to see a monk that has a time for Bitcoin and foundation because the typical monk that we are those who are in the temple most of the time.

I hope community doesn’t offend you but you should go to the right board if you want to learn Bitcoin technicality.

Depends what kind of a monk he is. Christian monks don't spend all their time praying. They actually do charity work running help groups for addicts, educate young people who want to get married, gather funds for sick children and all that stuff.
As long as he isn't asking for donations I think there's no harm done, even if some of what he's saying is a lie. All scams lead to a conclusion, so watch out for this telling moment in his narrative. He'll post a link or a way to reach him outside of the forum... You know how it works ;)

I kinda wish OP would say he got into BTC because the philosophy behind it and the social experiment it brings with it, but you can always get into that later on. But BTC can definatelly help also in your day to day finances and it can be a benefit in the long run.

whether this is a fictional story or not, but in reality a monk would not be like that. but this is the world of crypto, the world of the internet. anyone can turn into anyone without exception. Bitcoin gives a lot of changes in a person's life. Buying bitcoin is the first step to becoming a modern investor. Of course, there are many reasons for everyone, why should buy bitcoin.
Well, in this case I'm not going to highlight this about religious thinking because I don't have the capacity for that considering it's not a realm that I can control but when it comes to bitcoin which makes a lot of changes and can make someone's life more different than before I will agree with this because regardless of anything this is something true. Regardless of whoever the person is and from any race or class, they have many reasons to be here even though in the end it all refers to profit.

 :o :o :o

seriously? what country are you living in? in my country, which by the way is a very poor and third world country, the price of bread is not expensive, with 1$ you buy 12 breads, with 1$ you can buy a 6 liter water bottle, with 1$ you can buy a cup of coffee , with 50$ you have internet access of 4MB/download and 2MB of upload per month... and see that in my country we are complaining that the cost of living is high and that the government needs to reduce the tax amount so that the price of food and things reduce

well about what you said you don't like to work to pay tax, the people who give you bitcoin they bought this bitcoin they are giving you so they have a job and they pay tax it wouldn't be fair for you to just sit around and wait for others people work, pay taxes and you make donations

Anything can happen and their is nothing bad for a monk yo make use of bitcoin.  If monk can spend fiat then a monk can also spend bitcoin , I think bitcoin is just a new money for everyone.  The story of Op maybe true , it is not something I will find it difficult to believe.

bitcoin for everyone, for all people, there is no any limit to use bitcoin. When the Op told his story that a monk bought bitcoin there was nothing wrong with that. Bitcoin is indeed just a new digital currency that is intended for everyone. we can only take lessons from all these stories, that anyone will be aware of the importance of investing in bitcoin and everyone can join this forum.

I think I am the First Digital Monk in the Bitcoin Forum. If David Chaum become a Monk like myself, it will be good for him, because he is a great man who traded Digi Cash against gold. But it was, Digital Currency but gold certificate.

Recently I have looked into the Wei Dai's B-money again. In reality his idea was not like that of Bitcoin as Electronic Crypto Currency and payment Network. Adam Back's hashcash has nothing to do with Digital  Currency at all. It was a protocol for blocking spam email. On the other hand Nick Szabo's Bitgold project was something interesting but he back dated and publish it after reading probably Satoshi's Bitcoin Bitgold Paper.

After I re reading their papers, I have feeling those people trying to get some credits because Bitcoin has become a successful decentralised Digital cash. May be David Chaum also feel that he was the pioneer of Digital Currency. What ever is their case, it does not matter all those people now trading Bitcoin and getting benefits from Bitcoin.

Most of the cryptocurrency users have bought bitcoin to make money. In reality the same worked well, at the same time there were some issues mentioning that the person have got into scams. When there is money, automatically hackers and scammers have an eye over it. Though the key focus is money, it needs to be handled carefully. As a safe haven and as an investment I prefer bitcoin.

Bitcoin is for everyone which is another attraction. According to the ability to invest one can buy. The same isn't possible with other forms like stocks. This too a reason for people prefer bitcoin over other form of investment.

One thing in this world I've not heard got interested in the blockchain network is religion. Now a religious is here, if dedicated, you can
Now that narratives is changing, religious organization is now beginning to take donation in digital currency and Bitcoin is at the center of it, I read around the forum where Bitcoin topics are now thought at Sunday schools in some church and a user posted that here. The religious organization will be the highest adopters of Bitcoin in the future since Bitcoin provides an alternative and offer ease of making payment cross-borders Charity and donations made easy and those are some of the Cardinal points in religious beliefs.

Example is on this one:

Yes, this one had been applied or been integrated in terms of donation aspect but its not just right that you  would be saying about the highest adopters considering about
certain industries which does have more people involved or in to then you could really say that this is just be a part and wouldnt really be big as those.

What we do in concern on here is on that whatever and whatever industry or things gets involved, we do really still mainly concern in overall crypto adoption.

It is not surprising to see so many people improving their lives thanks to bitcoin, young people today are seeing that the opportunities they have are limited compared to other generations and a such they are looking for alternatives in which they can invest their small savings.

And fortunately for them bitcoin is here to help them out, however I would argue that even if we can improve our lives during the short term, it is also important to think about the long term, as the longer we hold our bitcoin the more benefits we can get, so if someone can keep their coins instead of using them right now the benefits they will get will be even higher in the future.

Bitcoin can help you achieve your goals if you use it the right way. If you buy it too late, or sell it too early, it will only lead to loss of your money, or the earnings will be so small that it will not help you realize your dreams. Bitcoin is just a tool that you need to know how to use correctly, otherwise it will not bring the expected results.

Everyone has hopes or dreams in life which most of the times are not possible to realize due to lack of money. Because everyone is in  limitation financially. At present, Bitcoin is capable enough to fill those opportunities that cannot be thought of in any other platform. So those who are ambitious should collect bitcoin coins. The habit of people releasing bitcoins too early because that person panics when the price drops and people who delay investing in bitcoin that person will regret it later, for example in 2018 they didn't buy bitcoin of course in 2021 that person will regret that is my personal experience.

In the end a brave person buys when bitcoin is down and patiently holds it until a new ATH is reached. is a man. Most people are always carried away by the current of fear. so that when other people are panic selling, weak people will be carried away and panicked and also sell. different from people who have a strong mental. they can always take advantage of any situation and condition. when people panic to sell then he goes in to buy when the price is low.

But you have the right to choose what life you want, it is something that new generations are more focused on the new things like this. Well, if that is not against your group, then welcome to the crypto community as everyone is free to join either.

Yes, some charity donations may help promote Bitcoin which I believe Ukraine and other private donations are already doing. However, we should not forget that the charity operated by the members of this forum as mentioned by n0ne is operated in a way community involvement was not the type of donation with no tangible information.

bitcoin and friends are very useful and have many benefits, one of which is in charity work. not everyone believes in intuition and charity organizers because most cases are not targeted and misused, and some want their names not to be known as heroes without merit, while bitcoin provides a solution for all of that
Yes you are right, now we believe more in something that we manage ourselves because there are so many cases of abuse committed by a handful of people. As a result, trust in them has decreased considerably.
How is it possible that people will believe if there are many cases with a bad image of what is labeled them, even though they are one of the institutions that are managed by the state. The key is the trust in them is decreasing.

Only those who are lucky and those who are smart invest in Bitcoin.Bitcoin investment is the best investment from unique investment. However, those who have analyzed well and invested long-term or short-term in Bitcoin are the ones who today own huge amounts of money. The Bitcoin market is always dynamic so if your investment is in your head then surely you can own a huge amount of money by looking at Bitcoin investment.Currently the Bitcoin market is very low so those who like to invest can start investing right now without delay. And hire long term and hope for happy days. May you meet happiness soon.
Bitcoin does have very good potential for the future. so choosing to invest in it is the right choice. but on condition that we must be good at analyzing the market. so we have to know when to enter and when to exit. because although the potential is very good, but also contains a high risk as well.
but if for the long term then bitcoin is the best for now.

indeed very many people are helped by bitcoin, especially when the world economy is sluggish, bitcoin helps them a lot, such as people who are expelled from companies and become unemployed, but with bitcoin finally many of them are interested in investing in bitcoin and finally they are successful, it is proven bitcoin can help people's economy.

and simple examples like your experience helped by bitcoin.
Indeed, very many people are helped by bitcoin, my goal in buying bitcoin is because I believe bitcoin can be a very promising business opportunity for now, at a time when the economy is sluggish and unemployment is increasing and job vacancies are very difficult for us to find, because if want to apply for a job in my country, we must have a high education because it is different from bitcoin investment does not require a high education, we just need to learn and understand the risks we will face, that is one of my goals to enter the world of bitcoin.

The habit of people releasing bitcoins too early because that person panics when the price drops and people who delay investing in bitcoin that person will regret it later, for example in 2018 they didn't buy bitcoin of course in 2021 that person will regret that is my personal experience.

Forget about these bitcoin pumps or dumps and also forget about bitcoin bull and bear market.

If you want to have  a secure future and financial freedom than you must invest in bitcoins.

If you define yourself as a long-term holder then you don't need to be a good analyst to invest in bitcoin. A bitcoin investment can also be made if you have basic knowledge and your belief in bitcoin is strong enough for you to hold it for the long term.

The key to success in holding bitcoin is our own patience and determination, no matter how bad the market is, as long as we stick to our original goal of not selling no matter how it crashes. Always keep moving forward, you will definitely succeed

That's right. We can only find the time to enter the market and make a purchase or a sale by analyzing the market well. For the risk, I think we can reduce it based on the analysis we did so that the risk is not too big. For the long term, bitcoin is indeed the best but unfortunately, there are still many people who are hesitant to store bitcoin for the long term because the price is always changing. They need to learn more about why bitcoin is still the best investment.

Bitcoin has helped many people to solved their problems in the community, that made many investors to invest on Bitcoin than any other cryptocurrencies in the market.  It hard for Bitcoin users to regret why they are part of Bitcoin in the community than to celebrate the people that introduced them to Bitcoin and how to use Bitcoin in a positive way to achieve a suitable reward at the end of the investment. I think, many people in the societies has improved higher in their businesses through the help of Bitcoin, because they made a good choice some years ago to invested on Bitcoin when the price was low in the market.

What you said is the best way and also common for most users or investors especially those who have been in this industry for a long time.
bitcoin is the best investment of all investments because it can provide a very good return especially for those who have a strong patience, bitcoin has a small risk if you do it for the long term and can also help meet urgent needs or needs if you need it, but it doesn't mean spending it. Doing it in the long run doesn't mean we don't use it at all.
do it if you really need it and only make a portion of the profit and buy back when it goes down, continue like that until you reach a more profitable future. And bitcoin is very useful for now and also for the future.

Interesting. This could be true as monks usually focus on solitude and prayer. However, I read about monks and nuns using the latest technology and social media platform. I've read that every monastery has different set of rules, some were allowed to use the internet to communicate with the world but of course it comes with a limit.
Therefore, we should at least consider more of his story. Because I have also thought, is there really a digital monk? Because latest technology might ruin the balance of the monk's way of living.

This is an era where everyone should know about blockchain technology and Bitcoin, it is not wrong for a Monk to accept Bitcoin from someone's donation, and use it to survive and help other Monks,
and it's only natural that a monk now knows what Bitcoin is and how to trade it,
and bitcoin should be accepted by many people not only for modern people who already understand about Bitcoin,

Most of the people of the people think life of a Monk is so easy, Monk do not work, just beg money or lives on charity. That is not the case. There is many different region and many different religious orders.

Christian monks are different from  Buddhist monks. Hindu Monk life littlest similar like the Buddhist Monk. Every Monk has to follow so many restrictions.

I live a very much pious life. I have learn how to live life with out harming any human or animal or insect. I follow the best principles which is respect every one and  not to get zealous.

I think every body in the forum must follow the principles what Satoshi Nakamoto has shown here in the forum by his examples.

Satoshi is a Master of Computation and digital economics. He is a living model of an Avatar, or a Godly man. Most of the religious Prophets or God like roller came in the past and conducted many wars and fights. Some Christian believe that Jesus is coming Bank again and will kill all wicked men with a flaming sword. Muslims people also believe their Mahdi will kill all the Jews and Christian. Hindu Avatar Kalki also will come annihilate greedy and immoral men. In Buddhism, what we learn is peace, and spiritual development.

Buddha never conducted any war or causing to any one suffer.

Jewish messiah will be a figure like, an absolute God like man who will make surrender all the nation to him.

In the case of Satoshi Nakamoto, he is the God of Money, who has come to make the poor rich and help the needy. He has  not declared any war against any one but the bankers and the financial Elites think that he is a threat to their monopoly on the financial service industry.

Now, he has said like the Robin Hood, rob the rich and give it to the poor. Satoshi Nakamoto is actually the real messiah or Avatara or Mahdi who has full the real purpose of the King, or God like heavenly man or angel who should come and help the poor and needy.

Those who you were poor 12 years ago. Think about your life, how hard life you were living then. It is Satoshi Nakamoto has set you free from your suffering. He has made you rich. Why then you are so much ungrateful to Satoshi.

When an unknown follower of me donated about $200 dollars worth of Bitcoin to me, I felt good. So is the case of Satoshi. Who said, care and share. That was the Moto of Satoshi Nakamoto. I have read over the months so many articles and watch video about Satoshi and his dedicated work. I feel that Satoshi is  self less helper who has come to help us.

We must learn from Satoshi. We must not harm a benevolent man like Satoshi. It was the duty of the Bitcoin community to find satoshi and help him every possible way we can. I am sure there are people here in the community who openly announce many things against Satoshi. Also there is few groups trying to hack and ruine his work, these people are definitely sponsored by our enemy.

My humble request is, satoshi has done nothing against you so leave him alone and let him live a peacefully.

Everyone should think of it as the digital gold of the future which will play a real impact in fulfillment your desire.
Yes it is true that only man is full of hopes and aspirations in his life. He is always scrambling to fulfill his life dreams. But some means are needed to fulfill people's dreams and if those means are through Bitcoin then we will certainly invest in Bitcoin. How people are currently investing in Bitcoin to become established. But I really like Bitcoin investing.Yes of course people value bitcoin more than gold.

This turns out to be very curious, I hardly know the Buddhist religion, but I really like its legacies, besides the concentration exercises they take are excellent, I like everything they can achieve, however detach from everything and just keep in mind The search for other things counts, without there being something corresponding material, that is something that I no longer share, and it is not that I am materialistic, but we must accept that the world changes, that we must join in the good changesb and one of those is having things, having technology and that doesn't mean it's bad, so many things are difficult for me while practicing as a Buddhist.

I also think 5000 is a lot of money for a monk to spend in just six months. In many countries that amount is a lot of money for some people even in a year. It must be some monk who likes to do sinful things, otherwise I don't quite understand how it was possible to spend that money somewhere in a monastery. To me, this thread reeks of a scam.
Spending $5000 in six months is quite absurd here most especially for a monk but let not dive into that is there is any inconsistency in the thread with a quick look at the title of this thread one will discover where the barrier is coming from I wouldn't say there is a language barrier here because from the replies by op it shows he is good in English. So the content of the message is not hard to understand and one can easily discover that this thread is an attempt in a negative direction but all thing is equal. It is a good thing to hear that op has found help through Bitcoin.

What I find funny in your comment is the part you mentioned that spending $5000 a month most have been on sinful adventures as a monk but then you know monks only spend much of their time in the prayer room rather than visiting a clubhouse.

Bitcoin is always the king. Some find this to be unaffordable and move towards altcoins. Whether it is bitcoin or altcoins, it is always good to spend a specific amount on cryptocurrency regularly to make life better after few years of time. For now people find it to be worth against the inflated currencies. Thats the reason why the interest over bitcoin have peaked. This will continue, because the inflation continues as the governments weren't able to keep it under control.

I bought Bitcoin because Bitcoin is a digital currency. And in the future its value may be higher than we think. Bitcoin is completely under my control. And my assets are safe in it.  I can easily transfer from one place to another to anyone anywhere. Because Bitcoin is the top cryptocurrency in the crypto industry.Because Bitcoin is not controlled by any country or organization. Bitcoin is untraceable and transactions do not require my personal or confidential information. I can store it in my personal wallet where no one else can access it. It is impossible to track money raised through Bitcoin.Because the price of Bitcoin is currently well below its all-time high.Bitcoin has the potential to multiply your capital. There are chances of it getting legal status in many countries in the future.Since many big capitalists, business companies, different countries have invested in it, that's why I also bought Bitcoin.

In 2015 many people threw away Bitcoin just to buy a few things they needed or something else using Bitcoin,
And if this is discussed more superficially, it can be concluded that this is a very fatal mistake, by thinking of selling Bitcoin at that time was not recommended
.
without them realizing the price of Bitcoin from year to year is always growing and continues to grow until now.
And this is one of the factors that causes many people to be interested in Bitcoin, with the development of Bitcoin, many people who used to have Bitcoin digital assets are very disappointed with the mistakes they made when they wanted to sell them, and lucky for those who at that time they held back and did not choose to sell it.

Therefore, how important it is to store Bitcoin from the past until now because in the development of technology that is increasing, surely one day everyone will hold Bitcoin for investment that is really very useful in the future.
People who understand Bitcoin and have experience with Bitcoin will of course really think this is very important, because Bitcoin is a very valuable investment asset both now and in the future.

Speaking of buying Bitcoin, I've just bought right now before the upcoming Ethereum merge which is just a few hours away from now as of this time of writing. I have been doing DCA with Bitcoin since May 2022 and I don't mind about my losses though.

All of them are actually losses because I usually bought it when it was $30k, $20k, $21k and $23.5k respectively. Now I have bought it above $19k, but I don't really expect about recovery anytime soon despite that the Ethereum merge is just hours away. I fully acknowledge the risks anyway, but the beauty of it is the long term result where it may go up to its ATHs again after the next halving or so.

I'm looking forward to it!

Yes I get what you mean, maybe it's just people's ignorance of how the future of Bitcoin will develop then. But as time goes by why everyone doesn't think far, and find out about why Bitcoin was created and how Bitcoin develops in the future, that way they won't just throw it away. For whales and business people they have realized that Bitcoin will grow rapidly, therefore they buy Bitcoin for their long term future. That is why it is important to seek information, then everything will be fine.

lol , as if you can truly find when is the down market or up, because this market shows nothing but speculative then best to understand that or be a loser all your life here in crypto market.

of course, buy bitcoin when the market calls or buy other currencies many of us have money in the bank but if we invest bitcoins without keeping money in the bank then we have the possibility of getting a lot of profit in the future,
that is diversification mate , you must buy several coins aside from bitcoin because the coins you must invest will be for future preference .

so investing is a very profitable thing, but you have to understand and time it when the market will be down.
never come to keep expecting , instead make your self ready for everything that may come your way.

If you post something believable .... people might reach out to you.... like that person that gave you the $5000.  ;)
I was thinking about this too. I have never really come in contact with a real monk but I have read and seen their way of life on Documentaries and with this narration, I am having another feeling about monks like monks can really more than be spiritual and @DigitalMonk seems to understand a lot about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and why do you have to keep stressing that you are a monk like you are trying to convince people you are a monk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5410438.msg60780090#msg60780090
All the proof of donation and usage will go a long way for other support too.

It is impossible to know everything in advance, not only bitcoin was able to grow in price just as well, there are other examples of good investments. But the bottom line here is that there are always opportunities, you don’t need to focus only on what has already passed and what can’t be returned, you need to look to the future and look for opportunities where you can make a good profit.

People during 2015 really underestimated Bitcoins. I mean definitely, when they see a coin is just increasing little in it's price, and also not legalised at many places , so why would they hold it or store it?
For that reason they traded their Bitcoins for whatever possible items or money they can get.
OP’s story is really very annoying to hear and that’s just my personal opinion. The reason for which I bought Bitcoins is just due to the freedom that I will get by holding it in form of my money.

It is so nice to hear that important occupations can understand importance of Bitcoin. Some people believe Bitcoin is dirty, but noone thinks that its dirty only if you use it for dirty businesses. You can donate Bitcoin to monks, churches, charities or even hospitals if possible/available. It obviously can touch people's life in a good way. Please consider Bitcoin as alternative to fiat money, but nothing illegal or not sin.

OP’s story is really very annoying to hear and that’s just my personal opinion. The reason for which I bought Bitcoins is just due to the freedom that I will get by holding it in form of my money.

The price of bitcoin in 2015 was around $200-$300 of course for them they wouldn't know how much higher bitcoins rose so many were selling because they thought maybe bitcoin wouldn't be as high as now so they can't hold it while there is profit and the price goes up for sure they will sell for buy something you want.
But according to them now they know that bitcoin investment is important for our future has improved much better year by year so that's why it's important bitcoin as a better investment.

It is so easy to get donations if your charity or foundation is legit. Still, the channel to receive them are always difficult, especially the centralized ones that will make you go through a process just to collect a gift or some changes, using banks for example can be frustrating. You know what they can't be trusted, your account could be flagged anytime at any moment but bitcoin has helped us facilitate these obstacles. Your Bitcoin is yours and will remain in your wallet provided that you own the private key, don't live your bitcoins on exchanges.

We all have what we believe in, we have Muslims, Christians, atheist and other traditional who are in bitcoin that belongs to one or two of the aforementioned, they will support your charity if they so wish with bitcoin without any middle person, this is part of the freedom bitcoin gives you.

I have to say I never faced with what we call "monk" neither, but I have seen people who put themselves to 100% spiritual life and those type of people always felt a bit phony to me. All those "I do not need wealth" Siddartha type of people always felt like if offered 10 million dollars they would stop their life and start a new rich one. Of course not "all" of them are like that, but majority like 90%+ feels like that.

Even monks could desire stuff and digitalmonk probably wants to become like an influencer, he wants to build some sort of follower base, and that way he could be on twitter and instagram all day sharing easy stuff like a few sentences and make a living out of it.

The amount of bitcoin that is stored on centralized exchanges is constantly decreasing, and this suggests that there are fewer and fewer people who want to risk their investments that are stored with someone else. Experienced users repeat this on the forum many times and at least once everyone has read it, and since he read it, then he should think about it. Keep your bitcoins in cold wallets and sleep well.

A digital monk, what a beautiful name you chose, you combine the present and the past, we always imagine a monk from ancient times, and we do not imagine a monk living in the digital age, it is nice to see Bitcoin invading all areas of daily life that we live in every detail, obtaining donations to the church through Bitcoin will be much easier but there must be trust first so that some bad people don't take advantage of it and get donations fraudulently.

Thank you for your comments and DM.

I do respect all the religions. I have no problem with the agnostics or atheist either. I am actually is not here in this forum to ask for donation. I am not a begger. I am a Digital Monk. Before I became Digital Monk, I used to trade stocks and bonds, I was a banker, central banker. Now I like the decentralised banking system established Satoshi Nakamoto.

I want say, why I have bought Bitcoin ?  That is my story. One day I might publish it in a article. I know if I ask for donation then may be some people will donate few bits but I have never asked any one ever to give any donation. I do charity work from my own investment. I sold some amounts of btc which was donated by one of my follower, probably in 2015 or 2016. I sold those coins to raise about $5000 dollars to do some charity work.

I am glad to see there are many bitcoiners who donating few coins to charity. This is good. May the Lord God of Money will bless them.

I bought Bitcoin because my money is completely safe in it and I only have access to it and it is not controlled by a third party. In Bitcoin I can easily send my money to anyone anywhere. There is no problem for me to hold Bitcoin because it has no physical value, no matter how many Bitcoins I collect. Its transaction is secure and very fast.In the coming times, Bitcoin will be held by countries as a central reserve and if that happens, So anyone who bought bitcoins will have their value in billions. It will be a global reserve in coming times.Bitcoin is leading the entire crypto industry and in a bear market as it is right now, buying Bitcoin can be a very smart decision for the future because if the price of Bitcoin breaks its all-time high in bull season,So I have got huge profit.Bitcoin is a digital currency or digital gold in which big capitalists, big industries and many countries are investing their capital. That's why I also bought Bitcoin

The needs of every person in this world are different. Some have less demand and some have more. Some are satisfied with little and some are not with much. Anyway, there is nothing new to say about Bitcoin. I believe that the future will be my bitcoin. I have been able to hold very little but I am optimistic that Bitcoin will be able to give me maximum leverage. That's why I'm so interested in collecting bitcoins.
Yes, needs vary between people. Through this thread I understood bitcoin usage have gone beyond what we expect. A Monk using bitcoin is something I never expected, and the same have helped him survive is its core help beyond the purpose for which this is being innovated. Different users have set different values to have them satisfied. In that stand majority prefer to have atleast one bitcoin which in today's market is really a tough task.

In the future, more and more people will want to own bitcoin, it is clear that due to its limited amount it will be difficult for everyone to own bitcoin, but a lot of people will strive to get some part. Of course, I can be wrong, but at the moment I believe in it, it has always been like this and this trend will be observed in the future, and this will inevitably lead to the fact that the price of bitcoin will grow.
