So, as many of us have already noticed, Preev.com is frequently going down. In an era ruled by CoinMarketCap/CoinGecko/Nomics, Preev.com was still a thing for many of us. We liked it for its simple interface. But, now, as the boat is sinking, we were looking for an alternative. Interestingly, many have sprung up quickly to fill the void. So, I collected them from various threads discussing those on BitcoinTalk and putting it forward to all of you for a vote.

Most of the mentioned platforms above are the same and similar.
I'll go with the easiest to memorize domain which is myri.io and pnnv.com, and I also notice that all of them can be used as a calculator with the real current price of Bitcoin, which most of the time is what the most people need when they want a quick calculation.

Sorry if I may be disappointing some people here and there, but right now my favorite is one... that's not yet on your list either: https://preecs.coolstorage.org/  (maybe you can still add it? actually there are many others that could be added to the list, including https://bitcoindata.science/bitcoin-units-converter.html)

Also, as said, some of those from your list do have (at least for now) the exact same software behind, making for some the choice stand in the preference in website name, where preev.net has a good chance for winning.
Plus, since preev.net will most probably change or improve the script, even my favors may be shifting towards it sooner or later.

I checked all of them are almost similar but I prefer a white and simple interface maybe my favorite is myri.io to use the converter from mBtc to USD for easy and I often use this.

Sometimes I also use Coinmarketcap to do it while looking at the prices of other coins there.

How many Preev.com's treads do we need? I don't know why this site has gained so much popularity, but all this number of posts within a month is enough.
The options are multiple, and all of them are the same, and since they often do not show ads, why not use more than one?

There are more too. I have seen one coinconvert.net on the service ANN section if I'm correct. However, among all these new sites, I got impressed by pnnv.com though the domain name is a bit weird. They could have a better domain name instead.

Come on. Most people don't know about the alternatives available. However, there can be another reason. To bring the one which need to be shilled as form of genuine interest. I have seen this many times here. A group of people post/reply on purposes.

I believe, in an era ruled by CoinMarketCap/CoinGecko/Nomics, Preev.com was still popular because of certain reasons...

1. Simple interface

2. Dedicated domain

3. No advertisement

The first option, given by you, can be still be considered as a dedicated subdomain. But, the second option simply does not cut it. If I include that, I'll need to include many others like https://nomics.com/markets/btc-bitcoin/usd-united-states-dollar etc. In any case, if more people mentions https://preecs.coolstorage.org, I'll include it in the poll.


In another post on BitcoinTalk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5412046.0), I came across two more domains, running the same script. These, I believe, can become alternative to Preev.com. So, I am including those as well...

It's difficult to say which one is the best. Some is just copycats of original Preev, others use Coingecko API and others - script from GitHub. In terms of functionality and design there is not much difference. So, I got with domain which is easiest to remember for me. And it's Preev.net. Though, I must admit that Oh.Gold is good one, even if it's not related with crypto. And most important, it's original.

No favorites yet since we have to see how reliable they are.
Another problem with some of these sites is that they are usually relying on one source for price which is not a direct exchange either. For example btc2fiat and preev.net are 100bit look the same and all seem to be using coingeko for their source. myri.io is short and looks the same but uses only bitstamp.

Any good alternative, in my opinion, should have a short domain name that is easy to remember and fetches the price from multiple sources all being actual bitcoin exchanges. Not third party APIs like coingeko, coinmarketcap, etc. and maybe no altcoin exchange like Binance.
Some sources could be: Bitstamp, Coinbase, Kraken, Gemeni

I'm sorry, but it seems you didn't mention my website, PNNV.com.
I'm using multiple sources, not depending on any API, connecting to different exchanges, and making an average between the prices.

I bought a premium domain with four letters that are easy to remember.

constantly updating my website yet, you didn't say good or bad. Would love to hear your honest opinion.

We are slowly getting to the point where someone could request a Preev.com successor sub-board in Meta because of all the interest that's been generated recently.

Most people will settle with one of preev alternative/"successor" before that happen.

That's because the gear button on top right showed only 2 sources: Bitstamp and Binance
If there are more sources then you should add them to the UI, if not try to see if you can add other sources like the ones I mentioned above.

the hype around this is very interesting, given that most of the services will be non-commercial, it will be interesting to see how many of them will survive the next cycle of domain and hosting renewal.

Honestly, this is not a problem for 100 Bitcoin (https://100bit.co.in).

I hold this domain since 2013 and it is already renewed till the end of 2024. You may check details @ https://domains.google.com/registrar/search/whois/100bit.co.in

Moreover, those of us, who are into serious development for long, have enough abundant server space to host multiple websites like this.

So, effectively, neither domain nor hosting renewal will become a roadblock in near future.

Don't bet on it, they all probably fit better in the Service Discussion > Exchanges or even Economics > Speculation subboards than the chaotic board categorization they're in now.

as you can see, the whole discussion was caused by a hosting problem with the preev.com site. Also, I buy preev.net because the previous owner did not set aside a measly sum for extending the domain and hosting. it is quite possible that the problem is not the amount of money.
Regarding development, ease of use is the main advantage, all additional complications with extra features will detract from the usefulness of the service. I think all users of preev service (or their alternative) know about CMC but for quick info, they prefer to use a simple page without redundant information.

As you can see, there appears to be three types of design right now, which are competing to replace Preev.com.

Category 2 & Category 3 are open-source. But, Category 1 is not. In Category 1, you are the only player, who has a representation on BitcoinTalk.

Looks like myri and pnnv is the exact copy of preev.com. But the closest one is myri as it has the other conversion too from other cryptocurrencies which preev has.

Btw, I don't know what rhombus is and I haven't seen that when I've used preev before.

As pnnv is doing its signature campaign for a month, I think that it'll contribute for the impact of their traffic. I guess myri should also the same if it has some budget since the co-founder has also commented here.

I wouldn't say my favorite but it is the one that I'm using right now, pnnv.com.

And it seems that the majority is with me just by looking at the votes. In any case, I will have to test other sites as well. And the lessons that we get from preev is that we should look for alternatives. Because we have relied so much with preev that it went down, we all go blind and then go back to cmc and coingecko which is too heavy.

After comparing all the sites,
- I like the simple, lightweight design of all of them
- coinconvert.net is an alternative domain from oh.gold (redirecting)
- oh.gold and myri.io show the price in the page title, I like that
- pnnv.com and myri.io have the option to display the price for mB as well
- I like the preev.net domain

Overall, I like all the sites and can't decide on a favorite. Maybe I prefer those with a dark color scheme because they seem more modern and elegant.

I voted for pnnv.com as one of the alternatives and I'm also using it right now, I don't know about the others, so far PNVV is making an impact by running an avatar campaign and I read that they will soon launch a signature campaign the design is very much similar to the old Preev and its ads free, surprisingly.
I wonder where they are going to get the revenues the admin spends with money out of their pocket to promote this converter.
and it's also the choice of those who voted.

It will remain a non-profit project, and it will stay advertise-free.

My Honest opinion-

Myri does not have the option to change to another background, that's a no for me, l mostly enjoy using black whenever the option is available.

Pnnv I can definitely use because of the background option and the multiple fiat option, I noticed among the rest, pnnv is the only one with more than 2 fiat option. I would like to see more fiat included in future.

Nope. It’s really working again now. You should check again the website because I just visit it right now just to verify if the website is really working. Try to clear cache and cookies to your browser if you are still unavailable to visit it right now.

Honestly I’ve been using Binance spot trading to check the price of Bitcoin rather than use preev since my balance is already there and the binance app is very quick to open.

Notice that preev.com is back from your post, having many alternative price estimators better because members will have more choices and everyone has their own preferences.

Yes, its been a while which this site had some problems or had been down and now its back.This is the most common site when i do check out Bitcoin price.

On the time that it wasnt available, i have tested out Preev.net which it isnt really that much that lite on what preev.com does have, this is why i do ending up on

using CMC or coingecko when checking out prices and now its back and online then lets go back on where we before.  ;)

Why not? it is allowed to advertise your site everywhere if you can pay for it.
or you just mixed it up Google ads with AdWords, where if I understood correctly, he advertises his pnnv site on the google ad network. So he pays for advertising as an advertiser. He ^{agentF as the owner of pnnv} is not a publisher.

Why not? Not everything in this world is about money. There is plenty of projects which are made for community to use which aren't commercial. But probably it's not worth to put much effort int website and don't get many visits, so probably this is why he decided to advertise. And as he said in one post, his budget is small, it means that he don't spend thousands of $ for advertising without getting revenue.
Though, persoanlly I would try monetize website to cover expenses at least partially, but he probably know what he is doing.

Almost a year have been passed. How many of the Preev.com alternatives are still in business? Which one are you guys using?

I used PNNV when the PREEV domain was off but now that they are back online I voted for it, even though Preev is in second place in this poll I still think its the most popular Bitcoin converter there is, because it's the oldest converter, and many have used it and it became their reference for many years I've been using it for 5 years already.

Checking Preev on whois the admin extended it up to 2025.

I just search on Google instead of going on some particular website.


Myri.io, it's easy to remember and takes least time to load, doesn't include fuss like 'fetching data' and useless animations like some of others.

Well for starters, all the alternatives listed on the first post seem to still work  :D

Gotta say I prefer preev.net the most mainly because it's the easiest to remember and I'm a sucker for dark themes which is its default theme hence I don't need to change anything. There's also pnnv.com for more options but preev.net usually is enough for my needs

Honestly, the alternatives are better for me so I don't think I'd go back to preev.com.

PNNV.com has become my go to website when I need to check BTC price. In addition, I'm using their instant swap services which can be another reason for using the website.
Preev is definitely a great option but let me be honest. I prefer using pnnv because this is a community made wesbite (agentf) and we should encourage him. He is spending money to advertise the site despite not monetizing the website.

Same here. I haven't watched in a while so I didnt really know since when it's not working. I have used their exchange service last week and it was working fine though I'm confused whether I should use next week or not.

I voted for Preev now that they are already online it's an old converter they seldom go offline the only time that they went off is when the owner failed to renew it.

Although there is a question on their security because it's showing as unsecured I'm okay on it as long as my anti-virus is not blocking it, thanks to this poll I got to know other converters now I have two more options to use for price comparison.

PNNV seems to have transformed itself into an instant exchange. Does not show BTC/FIAT rates like Preev.com anymore.



Firefox risk issue is now resolved. It is now working fine on HTTPS. But, I am pretty sure that https://Preev.com has changed hand.

1. It is now promoting a site called https://OrdinalsWallet.com/.

2. It has added lots of coins/tokens that was not there before. ETH & ORDI(BRC20) are visible. You'll also find BCH, BSV, TRX, ADA, MATIC, SOL etc. through searching.

3. Contact is now pointing to https://twitter.com/preev_, which used to promote a site called https://Preev.pro before, which was backed by BSV people.

You mean that they can disappear again at any moment? Considering that it already happened few times already, wouldn't be surprising at all. But despite having few good alternatives, Preev.com is first website which comes to my head when I have to check BTC price - old habbits just don't die.
