My Tokpie Exchange journey, i deposited my fund to trade their. I bought the native token of the exchange (TKP) but i can't trade it back to Eth, BNB, USDC or WBTC.
I wrote to support and they told me that i should place order based on their terms or forget about it. But the evil part of it is that they are selling below the price they want us to place.
Right now, my funds are trapped their. If you write anything about it on the Telegram group, they will delete. There are screenshots as evidence to these.
I am posting this, so that others won't fall victim of this evil that Tokpie Exchange is dishing in the Blockchain Space.
Stay away from Tokpie Exchange but you if you have experience any manipulation from them, drop your own experience here.

I've traded two altcoins on this exchange and things went fine on my side, the only problem is the lack of volume, this is one of the worst exchanges in crypto space as the team are not putting more effort to make this platform a better attractive and secured place to trade crypto, I only traded those alts on tokpie because that's the place they are listed.

This is a really bad exchange. How many tokens I received for a bounty, they always cost little. Some are not even worth 10 cents, although the number is large. You should not use such exchanges that deceive users. You can trust your assets only to trusted exchanges, and even then. As they say, your keys are your bitcoins.

I've heard of this exchange, to be honest from the appearance of the website it's actually not worth it to be called an exchange, so I just made an account there only for one of the bounty projects at that time and didn't want to put money there for too long then withdraw my money from the bounty payment, so I also never recommend this site to my community because it looks bad even your thread this gives confidence to myself that I haven't misjudged tokpie as a bad exchange site

I have checked the exchange and it doesn't look professional. Just go with the traditional exchanges that we have.

I don't think that you can still get your deposit there, how much it is if you convert it into dollars? This exchange is full of those bounty projects and there are other exchanges that are like this.

Being a den of bounty projects but you barely get the value of theirs because you almost get nothing.

This type of exchange should be one of 10 exchanges a token is listed on, you shouldn't have promoted a project that's listed only on such exchange you won't be able to sell for good price and any tokens that only list on such exchange is a bad token.

I've been hearing about this project for a long time, I had subscribed to information from emails and until now they are still spamming there. If what you are saying is the truth, you have nothing to fear and it is a very right decision to publish this matter on this forum. Unlike other projects, this Tokpie doesn't have many comments on their CMC page (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tokpie/) (There are only 2 main comments). This is a great opportunity to post your issue there too so that people will notice the problem if they try to use the exchange from Tokpie.


And it looks like the victims of Tokpie Exchange are not just you, I found a comment on Etherscan about a person who lost $700 on Tokpie Exchange, and he is having problems from 9 months ago. Though I haven't had to use that exchange, tokpie, with what I am seeing here, I think I will stay away from it.
My question, is there anyway they can be reported for these scams? It are they gonna go scout free?

Haven't tried that exchange yet but I heard there's a bounty trading that's why I saw before a bounty campaign that has a requirement to join to tokpie. Just be careful on exchange or website you are using, There are better and proven exchange out there that is ready to use. Don't risk your money on an unknown or low reputation exchange because things like these are likely to happen. You should do a formal Scam Accusation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) about them hoping that someone from their team will contact you about your situation.

Deleting messages on Telegram regarding customer concern is indeed a red flag.  I would say sorry that you probably lost your fund @OP and at the same time thanking you on informing us about this possible scam exchange.  I was thinking of trying to use that exchange but change my mind when I read your thread.  It is always best to trade on reputable exchanges or use DEX'es if the token is not listed on the major exchange yet.

Oh so this what happened to Tokpie? after all the hype and then given offer to bounty hunters to be able to exchange their tokens right away. At least that's how I remember them back then.

And this is the only time I heard their name again, unfortunately, they turn out to be a scam site. Not sure how the OP got the exchange though, unfortunately it's too late for him and I would say that most likely his money is going to be trap, sorry to burst the bubble.

Probably they also introduce fake identity to the public so the answer here, they will roam around freely and I’m sure will come back here again with a different project but same purpose.
This is the reason why I don’t trust small exchanges that much especially the new one. If you are just going to try their platform at a small capital then I thinks it’s fine, but expecting too much from them might put you on a bigger trouble. This site is a scam, their hype here in the forum is already over.

Introducing a fake identity is a norm of scam projects.  I have seen lots of scam projects that use the profile picture of people from social media with a different name.  I am somehow curious if this Exchange has licence to operate.  It would be alarming if they don't have it. It is understood if they are DEX  but if they are CEX then have a lot of thinking  before using their platform.

Why are you brave to deposit your funds there? Have you taken some research first about Tokpie before you deposited your funds? This part should be done first every time you choose an exchange to deposit funds/money.

Honestly, I have used this exchange several times but I am also a bit unsatisfied with this exchange. Most coins have lower prices than other exchanges and their volumes are too low there. I don't know whether they manipulated the price or not, but if we analyze the daily volumes of each coin there, it is clear that the demand is too small. It indicates only a few people or even no people trade on the Tokpie exchange.

By the way, can you tell me in detail how you can't trade it back?
As far as I know, TKP can be traded with ETH only. While for other pairs (BNB, USDC, WBTC), there is no any transaction lately. Which means no people trade on these pairs.

True, but the thing with Tokpie is that it is a revolution when they introduce it to the altcoin market in 2018-2019 if I'm not mistaken. So everyone is elated to see an exchange that you can used for bounties and get your reward right away in form of money, not crypto. Unfortunately, even if the idea is unique, maybe that where the people behind see as a advantage to run this scam up to this day. And now we hear another one fall victim for it.

I find this statement interesting the most. I mean how are they doing that? I know it's a centralized exchange but isn't this an open order book where you are allowed to set your desired price? Orders can be rejected if amount is below minimum but they shouldn't put a ceiling on price.

He probably got fooled of a promised return. Why buy TKP in the first place?

I have never used this exchange, there are trading bounty stakes there several times, but I am not interested in trading there. Thanks for reminding us all.

exchanges can manipulate their trading price. and maybe, not many people are interested with their token so they can easily set the selling price of their token. this is why it is not advisable to trade in a small exchange. they can basically hold your funds as you have no other choice but trade what you got so you can place your withdrawal. i hope traders will use this as a warning before they send significant funds to this exchange.

That's why i never join any project that being managed by this shitty exchange site, The exchange site has almos zero volume at all. All of tokens that have been traded at tokpie has no value nor volume. There's no reason to use it anymore to trade the token.
You are also making a big mistake by trusting such exchange site. You must learn from yourself not trusting any site that is having a very high chance to scam you.
You need to learn from this case if trading at the legit exchange site is a must rather than sending your money to the unknown exchange site like that.

Have been 9 months ago based on @GreenHow experience about bad reputation from Tokpie exchange, but OP still not found about bad feedback from Tokpie exchange and he tries keep deposit fund and bought TKP coin. I am aware with some exchange market not really popular exactly with Tokpie. I just know with this exchange market trough many member here promotes as signature code but don't ever try to trade or looking that exchange. I heard this exchange from my country and not really believing when their try launching coin because have chance to be scam and price drop. OP need to find how to get solution with his fund deposited by keep asking every time, but I doubt OP will get back his refund after many cases still not find solution.

I wonder how did you even find that exchange? I say this because Tokpie is not really a popular exchange and the volume they manage is very low, and when it comes to an exchange the size of their volume and their reputation is almost everything, I really hope that you recover whatever money you lost but you need to learn from this, the next time that you need to use an exchange ask the community for help, even if you think that the question is too basic we prefer to answer similar questions over and over again than to see someone getting scammed.

After reading all the comments about this exchange, I also agree with all the opinions. I also have a bad experience with this exchange and after all that has been said, I think I will delete my account because I did not see anything good from it.

Well, I'm not sure if you bothered yourself to check that particular exchange before depositing. Because if you did this surely you will end up like that.
I may give you sympathy because of your losses but I hate hearing like this for this is not supposed to happen if we care to check the site and if we never use non-reputable exchanges. In fact, I'd never heard of this exchange and probably was newly created with the purpose to scam people (like you) who miss to asses the site.

Yes tokpie is scam exchange. There volume is very low and almost Fake volume generated. They run so many bounties compaign here and distribution wa done in their exchange. Many hunters reported that they recieved nothing because token they recieved in tokpie exchange has no value and also theirs withdraw fee is so high. I also recommend to stay away from this exchange.

Well i don't have trust when it comes new platforms even they offer a good promotions because mostly scammers used that kind of technique nowadays just to encourage users to be part and to invest money on their platform.. And tbh with you mate i never heard that tokpie exchange since then when I'm looking a good exchanges to trade, so for sure that's new and it's definitely a big mistake to put trust immediately because it will gonna run your money without knowing.

I just wanted to share this with the OP because you really didn't do any research before going to the transaction. For me personally, I know it is a junk exchange and the volume is very weak. What do you think about buying them and not looking at the liquidity problem that currency has? Basically, when someone buys, they've trapped themselves in a liquidity trap, and if they want to take a loss in return, it's generally not a big deal when used with low quality stuff. Take this as a lesson for yourself and be more wary of trading in this market. It's better to choose places of better quality, and I don't think this issue is a scam reporting article, just user error.

I know that this exchange has been in existence for many years now and I came into contact with them all because I am also involved with some bounties before and yes it is so true most of the projects they were supporting just went into nothing or worthless. Instead of improving its infrastructure and its reputation, Tokpie is now descending into a doubtful project. Yes, am sad to say that we should NOT get near with this platform no matter what - well there are so many better ones out there so why select Tokpie in the first place?

as far as i know, tokpie exchange is a favorite place for bounty projects, shit coins are usually listed on tokpie, maybe he is trying to exchange his rewards from bounty campaigns for other valuable coins

this is a lesson for op, hope he learns something from this loss, not all exchanges can be used arbitrarily and need to be tested for reliability and trading volume before making trades

There's few past accusations against this exchange before:

If you're spend few minutes to search the reputation first before using this exchange, you wouldn't faced this problem. Tokpie (TKP) (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tokpie/markets/) isn't only available on their exchanges, you can use other alternative next time.

Trading on tokpie exchange would require a lot of patience because the exchange volume is very low and most of the trades you find are actually bots.

Secondly, the rules are that you can only sell at a value that is higher than the earliest buy order. It means that you can't sell to the highest bidder. This is frustrating, but I guess it was implemented to guide against fall in the value of TKP.

The exchange is rarely been used for trading as the major reason why most people had to use it was for bounty and they had a program that allows hunters to convert bounty stakes to valuable asset like eth, usdt, etc. I doubt this is still in place.

Another reason why people patronize the exchange could be because of the periodic airdrops that is given to holders of the TKP tokens. From the information I have, holders of over 20,000 TKP are entitled to monthly airdrops in bnb, usdt, etc. I don't have up to that amount and don't receive airdrops, but that's the information that I got from their website.

Agree, however in some case a few telegram group out there using bot auto delete to avoid bot spam, mainly if they are shared link so they are will automatic delet it.

The reason i deposited the fund is to buy their TKP token because it is cheaper in BNB pair while ETH pair is higher, so i wanted to trade it alittle before withdrawing it. Unknown to me that i can buy but can't sell hahahaha.

The fact that you were unable to trade because you failed to follow the rules doesn't make the exchange a scam. Tokpie exchange is not the best place to trade, as there are several weakness when compared to an ideal exchange. Infact, Tokpie is not an exchange for conventional trading. The exchange is used basically for bounties and from my perspective you can choose to withdraw your tokens to other exchanges, if you are not willing to follow the rules. The true definition of a scam exchange is a platform that carts away with users funds, if your funds are still available for you to trade or withdraw, then you shouldn't cry foul.

This is quite fun of that exchange. I haven't really done any serious trading and withdrawal there but I once had a few tokens for some bounty that was paid into that exchange and put them in sales which were later confirmed weeks or months later cos of low volume however because the amount is small I didn't bother withdrawing but one thing I noticed is the exchange request of an Account upgrade, 20000 TKP is what you have to HOLD to qualify to upgrade from trial to Light and that is about $2580, why would I want to spend that in an exchange with no Volume and trust? If not for that one bounty I probably wouldn't have known any exchange like that. My advice is to stay away too.

I personally have never expressed interest in any promotional campaign when I see this exchange being used. Moreover, when there are so many good exchanges, why i would like to trade on such an exchange? For better management, you need to select the right platform. Otherwise you may lose your money.

Sounds like you got fooled by their order books. That must mean you have to choose the BNB pair as well when selling? How much is the difference in fiat value?

Do you know what these trade rules are? The fact that you cannot sell your token with your desired price is already shady on its own.

What is it then? How is it different from conventional trading?

How much is the minimum amount and the withdrawal fee. I'm guessing Tokpie charges a lot even for the withdrawal of their native token TKP.

It still scammy when they have unfair rules. Can you justify why users can easily buy but have difficulty selling?

I've made transactions in the Market but I feel uncomfortable when doing on the exchange because the Withdraw and Deposit system they do is very long and more than 1 day because of the reason at that time they did it manually when I complained about the transaction and after that incident, I didn't do anything transactions in that market again until now.

Maybe now their system is better but I have not followed the development of the market.

This is the first time i am hearing about this exchange but i am not sure i understand your situation. You said you purchased their exchange token but you are not able to trade them, but in the next sentence you said that the support team asked that you should place an order  ???, which means you could trade the token.

I checked their token in CMC and it looks like a dead token with zero volume. There are plenty of decent exchanges in this space and still users are chasing new ones and are willing to take risk which is unfortunate.

Your main intention to take arbitrage chance from both of pairs but you have ended by getting scammer by exchange site itself. You must also know that if there was no liquidity in that exchange site and that makes zero chance to did arbitrage.
Trading only in the legit exchange site. Even if that will be more difficult to did arbitrage at least it can be trusted unlike this garbage exchange site.

Tokpie used to be great as a unique exchange but some of the info I found that tokpie is out of operation they seem to be retired I also haven't seen this unique exchange for a long time I don't think they're running anymore. but seeing what you're going through it looks like it's been held with a different maintainer and that should be careful with this trade-off.

Never heard of this exchange. And why would you even think of buying a "native exchange token" of an exchange no one knows about? Obviously they are scamming people if selling their tokens below the price you guys want to place. More like "dumping" their tokens.

Open a proper scam accusation thread. Post proof and make other people aware of that scam exchange.

If more people were like you and had that kind of attitude the number of scams that we see in this market will go down very fast.

Except for those which are forced by the bounty in which they are participating and have no other choice I do not see why anyone would be interested in using that exchange, it is not really popular and it doesn't seem to manage a great deal of volume and now it's reliability is being put into question, so when you stop and think about it there is not really any reason to take a gamble with your money and deposit your money there.

That's right, those who regularly participate in bounty campaigns will not be unfamiliar with the Tokpie exchange. This is where most of the junk tokens from bounty campaigns are listed, apart from Tokpie, I remember p2pb2b exchange is also a selection of junk projects. As you said Tokpie has been down for a while but why people can still create new accounts and make transactions this is clearly a sign of a scam.

I've used this exchange, but it's been a long time. Because there are tokens listed on the tokpie exchange. And at that time the new tokpie exchange was launched, so not too many conditions were applied. I haven't used this exchange in a long time, so don't know about the methods they employ. This exchange is less interesting to me.

So that's the whole point, to make money on the difference in the price of their token, which they themselves control. And did you think that at what price they sell to you, at such a price they will buy from you? It does not happen, there will always be a spread and it will always be not in your favor. I have not met any stock exchange, which would always put the user before its own interests. The primary goal of the exchange - is to earn commission on your tokens, no matter how. Use the most well-known exchangers, not the dumps like Tokpie.

Exchanges can scam you too, it's not just shitcoins that scam us. This is a lesson for everyone, especially newbies, always check the trading volume of exchanges on CMC and when trading on a new or unknown exchange, visit all their social media channels to see if they are still active or we can consult on this forum or a similar cryptocurrency forum before making trade on it. We should refrain from trading new exchanges like OP said because sometimes they create arbitrage to fool us.

I just now know that this exchange is possible to be a scam, I use this exchange a few months ago to sell my token listed there, but all went smoothly and there are no difficulties that I experienced. Probably it becomes a shady exchange and they shut down because of their useless token listed. Open thread in a scam accusation to warn others regarding their negative behavior.

I was already suspicious of this exchange, maybe last year when I signed up and I didn't want to risk losing my money to trading at there. Honestly I'd rather trade on kucoin or other more popular exchanges, rather than must be use an exchange that worries to me. By the way I hope you will have better luck on the more popular exchanges.

I agree that exchange is very possible to scam us because they can manipulate the transaction on the exchange itself. Tokpie seems to have strange transactions on many coins listed on the exchange, the daily volume is too small, and the price gap is too big if we compare to other exchanges. I assume some newbies already realize this but they are influenced to join this exchange because they are following the bounties managed by Tokpie. Tokpie manages some bounties, so people are interested to join, especially newbies. They should join Tokpie social media but they ignore the issue of scams done by Tokpie because dreaming to earn money from the bounties.

There are different trusted exchange I don’t know why you decided to use Topie exchange, I don’t know anything about it but from other members post I know the exchange is not trust, atleast you have learn your lesson whenever you want to trade now, you will always learn to use a trusted exchange and thanks for sharing this information, it will help people that are also planning to invest in the exchange.

Tokpie is really a worst exchange better to other trusted exchange out there. I also have coins in tokpie standby a long time ago because only few do trading there. Also their withdrawal fee is high . Avoid using exchange like tokpie next time.

Well i know these exchange when i join one of Campaign in 2020 probably i receive my Bounty token successfully, their is liquidity "everything good"  --but as i came to sell it i am unable to do after contacting the support team they are claiming you recieved huge amount in Drop so we will hold it for now i explain them about the campaign but nothing is done, and the worst part is still my account is freeze 🥲

so that's my worst experience with Tokpie exchange and if you guys are curious about amount it's 800$ from their i started recommending everyone to avoid these exchange i don't know still the exchange payout or not

Well we know already about tokpie the exchange is not having much reputation like binance and houbi if you use exchange it is important to use exchange that already trustable like binance, because it is reputable exchange and many investors trust is because of thier great experience on this exchange, some investors only using tokpie because the coin that they buy is listed on that exchange(tokpie) all i can say is that buy a coin that os listed in binance or in some reputable exchange for assurance that you did not loss your capital. I believe that everything is unpredictable in crypto but it has a big advantage if we try those exchange that is already proven and tested.

last year I wanted to withdraw the token that I got from airdrops and bounties, but a strange thing happened because they used ETH or BNB for transaction fees, and when I deposited BNB and withdrew I had not received tokens from tokpie, I never opened tokpie again.

I am completely sorry for your trapped Money but you should seek local authority help regarding the fraud. If there are plenty of evidences are available and money which you want to get back is pretty enough then why not take the chance for the same.

I am wondering why have you chosen this fucking exchange which isn't even listed on CoinMarketCap. I heard this exchange even lists tokens for free or for a small fee. Any potential project doesn't like this exchange. Only shit coins and tokens choose Tokpie to list their scam. So basically this is the scammers home.

Always check is there's real liquidity on exchanges so you can get rid of your tokens. That's something you get better with in time. But it takes some practice. Tokpie Exchange was a weird project from start and really bad one but i wouldn't call it a scam for being lame. Users can sell what ever prices they choose, and sometimes spread between buy and sell walls is so big that it confuses newbs when they look at the price tokens are fake trading.

Tldr; Stay away from Tokpie, it was a bad idea from the start.

This have been the place for a big number of tokens that don't get a chance to be listed elsewhere. The major usage of this exchange is from the token collectors. Exchanges always wants to gain reputation and here it is on the path of generating acquisition. Good is to avoid such exchanges and make use of more other crypto exchanges with good trust rating.

And even in countries in which a cryptocurrencies are recognized as assets that have value there is no guarantee that local authorities will be able to do anything to help you out, and this is because most of the time an investigation of this type will require for the police to try to make an international investigation across many different countries.

And that is not really the type of crimes for which your average local police is trained to deal with, and if the amount of money is small then the possibility that the police take the case seriously is almost zero as they are not going to spend so many resources for so little money.
