Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?

right here, on this forum  ;)

But kidding aside, it's up to you... Why are you interested in bitcoin? The technical aspects, the fact that it's a method of sending and receiving funds, or are you looking to invest?

If it's the technical aspects, i'd probably tell you to read the whitepaper, or one of the many technical books... And if you have questions afterwards, you can come to this forum to ask them.

If you're not interested in the technical aspects, i'd still urge you to watch a couple introductory movies, afterwards you can download a (testnet) wallet, exchange some funds and start right away...

Just make sure that you always remember that crypto transactions are irreversible, and there are many scammers (there are scams outside of the crypto community aswell, but since crypto is relatively new, the scammers seem to get away with more than in an offline environment). The fact that crypto is irreversible and you don't need to meet up IRL to send funds makes the scammers even more bold... If you're suspecting something is fishy, it never hurts to come to this forum and ask advice before sending money.

Before you start with Bitcoin you need to know what exactly is Bitcoin and how to use it.
I have a big source of learning and courses about Bitcoin if you want to learn more about Bitcoin start from reading this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin

Then read more about the Bitcoin blockchain from these link below

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?
This question is far from being simple to be honest, there’s a lot of things you didn’t mention in your question, like if you already have a bitcoin wallet and for what use you need to start using bitcoin.
So i suggest you id you didn’t do any of that yet to open a wallet then search for an exchange platform that allows your region so you can buy some bitcoin and it’s a perfect time to do if you want to invest on that, i also suggest that you keep surfing this great forum and learn much things

That's true but it's easy for you to say who knows what a bitcoin wallet is, how to download/verify/install a wallet and keep it secure. Beginners have to start by learning about wallets, keys, ... pretty much basic stuff before they begin to buy bitcoin. :)

Yeah, well. The answers you have been given above are very helpful, and I hope you will read all the links that have been passed on to you.

I would go the other way. What I would recommend is that you start by looking for information yourself, and don't expect it to be served to you on a platter. It will serve you much better in the long run. Then, if you read information on your own and have questions, ask. We will be happy to help you.

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?
I have read some replies in this thread and many of it are best way to start and I would also say the same thing so, I will only give you tips. Since you wanted to know where to start with Bitcoins so, the answer to that is don't dive in headfirst in bodies of wate and if that thinking is use in crypto then the decision would be research for before doing something then you'll know where to start much like in diving water which you must check first if there could be a debris that you may get hit when you dive.

The most interesting thing is that such beginners easily find the section for beginners. And then they create a topic with such a banal question, without reading anything around at all. I'm pretty sure it was a random post that won't answer again in this thread.
A man found a forum, sat down at a desk, and decided that three hundred other people would teach him here. How it became popular. Buddy, start with motivational books like "Think and Grow Rich." If you can't achieve much while your ass is on the couch, get up and start working yourself.

If you're truly anxious in learning about Bitcoin (here in this forum) and not mere saying, your regular boards to visit should be Bitcoin Discussion and Beginners and Help threads. Maintain a constant presence in those boards, read more from them than you would post and you will see how improved you will become within weeks.

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?
What you need to understand is the fundamental aspect of Bitcoin, the history of its creation (the purpose so you can have an absolute understanding of it benefit), and learn about the blockchain, and wallet (know how the Bitcoin wallet operates and how to secure your wallet from online theft).
For this forum, you need to understand the rules, and regulations and avoid plagiarism. In the meantime, I found a thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5156874.0) created by Fillippone and I believe it will help you with your learning.

Those who want to invest this is actually the best time but only for long term holders say 5+ years because in the short term volatility could force you to panic sell and newbies need to understand this.At this time the discounted rates are there and you should take this opportunity if you can.

"I have my graphic cards ready to start, where do I start mining and which is the most reasonable way to start it?"

Well, you're in the bitcoin subforum, so i'll give you a bitcoin answer: you can not mine with a graphics card anymore... Sure, in theory you can, but the hashrate is SOOOOOOO low compared to the difficulty, odds are you won't be able to solve a single share in a reasonable timeframe (if you're pool mining).

"I have my graphic cards ready to start, where do I start mining and which is the most reasonable way to start it?"
As mocacinno said you can't mine bitcoin but you can mine certain altcoins with your GPU, you can read topics in the altcoin mining board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0 or ask your questions there.
Generally speaking you need to have a low electricity price, a decent GPU that can give you a decent hashrate and then you just find the most profitable altcoin to mine and sell your rewards for bitcoin or fiat.
There are some calculators that can help you decide too. Like this site: https://whattomine.com/

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?
simple answer, you have started bitcoin from the first you know the word 'bitcoin' and search for it.

another question, what is your goal in starting bitcoin? if you already know the purpose you are going to do with bitcoin / with bitcoin. then it is a door for you to pass as a starting line. from there you have to start walking in accordance with the goals you want to go.

Everyone's goal for bitcoin is the same, namely profit (trader/investor) and progress (technician/pioneer/innovator).

so who are you? traders? investors? technician? pioneer? innovator? or other types?

and I Welcome you to the Bitcoin World

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?

The amazing thing about Bitcoins is that it’s a currency, or a medium of exchange, it can be exchanged for goods and services, and it has an exchange rate, like any other currency.
So, "to start" with Bitcoin , you'll want to either buy some bitcoins, or, more likely, accept Bitcoin as a form of payment for your goods and/or services.

This topic has some suggestions on how to earn bitcoins: [General] How to earn Bitcoins (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1629118.0)
The rest is up to you and depends on your abilities and what you're good at.

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?

The answer to this question primarily depends on you, your knowledge, experience and your life plans.
Are you someone who is primarily interested in the technology behind bitcoin and want to study it?
Maybe you have money that you want to invest in bitcoin and hold it as a long-term investor?
Maybe you want to do cryptocurrency trading?
Are you looking for opportunities to make money on this forum? You need to be much more specific so that we can help you more.

There is no most efficient and easiest way to get started other than buying yourself some bitcoin and making a few small buys to get the most authentic bitcoin experience and feel.

The first, OP should learn bitcoin wallet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0 , and how to start buying bitcoin, with trading operations I think we should watch the video to have a realistic view rather than read the tutorial. I think you should go to youtube, there will be specific and detailed videos step by step to starting buying bitcoin. In addition to forums, youtube is a knowledge base for what you need.

OP might as well need to read a lot of books or article to follow what's Bitcoin. There's a lot OP need to consider once start to own Bitcoin and that is owning a Bitcoin wallet and what type of wallet would he/she be using. And for security where there are links above me, OP need to read more about it to avoid more complex in the future such as getting scammed or getting hacked by someone.

It comes from understanding what Bitcoin is and what are the usage about it then choosing the right wallet and learn how to trade or understand how trading works and what to consider when trading. READ!!!

It all depends on the personal interest of the OP to know where to begin. if your notion of joining the forum is to know about Bitcoin I think you are not far from getting the knowledge you're looking for, based on the fact that you did not specify the particular area from which you want to get help from I encourage you to focus more on reading the information and useful contributions that have been given to you here I believe with this you can start your journey to bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I want to advise you to, first of all, read through the forum rules so that you don't find yourself breaking the rules, and focus more on reading instead of creating one-line threads that are often considered meaningless here. Make more research, read the Bitcoin-related books and you will find it easier to understand better.

by joining the bitcointalk forum, I think you've done your first step. As you can see this is a forum that's really suitable for beginners to know about cryptocurrencies or in this case according to your needs, bitcoin. The next step is to learn and be active on the forum. For those purposes, you need to know the rules and regulations of this forum, whether it's written or unwritten. Please, be a good newbie to avoid a ban. How to be a good newbie? read hehe.

While learning the theories from here, you'll bring to other sources by discussing with others and you can also learn it by doing based on the theories you've learned. For example, you can do trade, staking, swapping, and other necessary things to do to know more about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. You can start to trade and invest with little amounts to know how the crypto world going (including how to surf the market). Even airdrop and bounty will bring more comprehension to you.

That's true but it's easy for you to say who knows what a bitcoin wallet is, how to download/verify/install a wallet and keep it secure. Beginners have to start by learning about wallets, keys, ... pretty much basic stuff before they begin to buy bitcoin. :)

Yes, but no. First you need to have a plan. What are you going to do with the bitcoin and many joint the party for the profit. I doubt the dude by asking he means where to find the source code of Bitcoin core to read it just because he is interested how Satoshi wrote it.

Many come to trade bitcoin just to make more and don't even know what blockchain is, they don't even have any trading experience at all. They don't care about weallets nor security, all they need is a exchange account and some anonymous Twitter/Youtube (now even Tiktok) "Guru" with hundrets of thousands of followers to tell them when to buy the dip (of the dip (of the dip ... (of the dip/))).

So instead of choosing the "looser's" way of chasing chimeras (or gambling) it's better to focus on the other plan. StackSatsHodling that's the smart way.

Reading about it how is done is the next step but first you need a plan.

where do I start with Bitcoins?

In fact, you have to think about what you came here to do? If you think you will gain a lot of skill knowledge about Bitcoin here then you have a lot to learn here. You have to post with quality and if you can post with that quality then senior members will give you merit, by which you can increase your own rank. And if you think you will earn from here then there is one way for you that is Bounty.

Please click here to view the Bounty thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0)

There are many ways to earn here but I think the easiest is to earn by working on Bounty. But if you only do bounty then you will not gain any knowledge about Bitcoin. If you know about bitcointalk then I will say that bounty is not all work here. There are many other types of work which you need to do with experience. So I mean if you are new to this bitcoin then post here to gain knowledge not chasing earnings. Then later you can learn a lot and find ways to earn.

I know some people will have sent you personal messages that they will guide you or help you, they can't be trusted because most of them might have negative mindset to you. Don't trust anybody that will want you to create wallet address or the once that will want to help you buy bitcoin, you have to be careful and don't share your private key with anybody.

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?

Oh no! It's another one, newbies are used to dropping a post and not return to the conversation again lol. I was a victim of this, but I would still return maybe in 2 or 3days time when the conversation is in the 4th or 5th page and I would find it difficult to reply to all the important posts, since I didn't know how to multi-quote  ;D

Incase you will get back to read this, you have a question to ask yourself .
Why do I want to know Bitcoin?
To what extent do i want to know Bitcoin?

For the question of why know Bitcoin, there are two possible answers for you;
  • Because I want to get rich(quick) with bitcoin
  • Because I see bitcoin as an evolving technology that might be the future if finance, perhaps it can help me control my money without the third party
If your answer is number one, you need to change your mindset and make number two your possible answer.

For the question of to what extent you want to know bitcoin, there are two possible answers;
  • Just to be able to perform bitcoin transaction, hodl or even trade bitcoin
  • To know the technical part of bitcoin,  by knowing its working principles and maybe be able to make decisions in bitcoin.
Both reasons are cool and upto you to decide based on your level of dedication. You will achieve both knowledge here by searching the forum and asking questions. You can enhance faster by reading bitcoin books and documentaries.

But kidding aside, it's up to you... Why are you interested in bitcoin? The technical aspects, the fact that it's a method of sending and receiving funds, or are you looking to invest?
Bt exactly, in my opinion, this frum is the most appropriate to start with Bitcoin. Yes, this is a very good forum to learn about Bitcoin, to be understood more efficiently and easily than learning and reading on the articles.
Bt, because there is so many information, replies, and posts right here, we need more time to read them, many great information is available here.
As long as we always continue reading, this will really be a great starter before inevstment.

For OP, once to remember is that:
Never start by following the people activities on hype, in which athey may have been profesiona, and you are new. SO, the activities and also decision may be different. the ebst way is always reading and learning at first from any source. You can't use a graphic card to mine Bitcoin anymore, those days are long gone, now you need an Asic miner to mine Bitcoin and they are very costly, also do not bother mining other coins right now because it's never going to be possible since Eth mining is no more, I have 6 2080ti and they give me 1$ to 2$ per day, imagine that.

You can't use a graphic card to mine Bitcoin anymore, those days are long gone...
That's true, but you can still mine altcoins and then sell them or exchange them for bitcoin if there is a market for it. There are platforms like Nicehash that still work. How profitable that is with the current worldwide electricity costs is a big question though. You mine an altcoin and the site pays you in BTC. But be ready to lose a decent share because of their fees.

Start from knowing about Bitcoin and you do that through engaging in the forum. This way you will know how to buy your first Bitcoin,  where to save the coin and to protect your private keys and what kind of wallets to use. Bitcoin isn't complex but when you misplace your private key the complexity sets in. Start by learning and to learn you begin here

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?
While we've been putting in our best to make sure OP gets the answers that would help him or her to understand crypto and the way the forum works, OP haven't been giving the responses any attention and could be said to have been trolling.

OP have been inactive since the creation of this thread as his last seen is the same as thread creation.

Except the intent is to ensure other beginners who might be in OP's shoes understand, we might just be wasting our time and energy in trying to make a good impression.

Since you didn't explain whether you already had a bitcoin wallet or why you needed to start using it, I'll be honest and say that this question is anything from easy.
It's a great time to buy bitcoin if you want to invest in it, so if you haven't done so already, I advise you to open a wallet and then look for an exchange platform that accepts your country. I also urge you to keep browsing this fantastic forum and pick up lots of knowledge.

I think the best way to start is to read a bit, research and start investing. The only way to understand how the market works is by actually being part of the market. Good luck.

the distribution of bitcoin block rewards which is getting smaller every year makes btc miners have to upgrade their mining machines with new and expensive CMIIW, so those who want to focus on becoming miners (what I mean here is altcoin mining) can see this article -> (https://www.business2community.com/cryptocurrency/best-coins-to-mine)

I think the best way to start is to read a bit, research and start investing. The only way to understand how the market works is by actually being part of the market. Good luck.

Becoming a profitable investor in the market is not an easy matter, there are many things to go through, starting from learning - DYOR - and even making the right decisions (buying and selling), everything must be done properly and correctly. lastly, don't be rash and greedy because time can't come back, if you make a mistake in investing (especially if you buy shitcoin) then time will be wasted. focus on investing in bitcoin, it's more certain.

Simple question where do I start with Bitcoins?
I honestly dunno why you got registered in here in the first place -- isn't these purpose amongst your main interest In here? When I got registered, honestly I knew a little about Bitcoin but it wasn't enough to help me out lest I got beguiled by some ponsi schemers -- that's majorly what any regular beginner would come across on the net...I'm proud to say that I've learnt alot including -- having some fringe ideas on technical matters; I wouldn't get that if I wasn't registered in here. OP, I believe you'd get whatever orientation you need in here to begin your crypto journey -- just look out for where you've got some complexities and let anyone help you out with 'em.
