Title: Phishing/Scam website
Post by: malcovi2 on October 25, 2022, 11:35:10 AM
What happened:
I saw cryptomoonman (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3402434) is linking/posting a different website -
Code:
https://daedaluswallet.org
I'm pretty sure this is a scam website because the official Cardano Daedulus wallet is https://daedaluswallet.io/ its in the official Cardano website, you can check it here https://cardano.org/

what kind of referral program is there, does it exist in the official version? I saw on his topic that they share his referral code.

On his website, all download wallet links (Linux, Windows and macOS) lead to the same file, windows.exe.
Also, I checked it on virus total where they find suspicious things on file. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/a65a5f02807f23992828bb8eb6b62b76ad147faef6094afa703d6565a08be84e/detection

I will definitely tag him in red.

Good find, OP. The website is a mirror image of the official daedaluswallet.io site - which should be cause for suspicion. But, as the examplens above pointed out, the wallet file is definitely a scam because download link doesn't lead to the official download repository. It feels as though someone has taken the official code and repackaged it – even going so far as to use an identical site layout. As for the download link on the website – I don't advise clicking on it. It could be anything.

A good find, unfortunately we must be wary of all links in the forum, especially from newbies, but I think that those who will deal with this case are mods/admins, as a report is enough to ban the account.
Negative trust will not change in account activity or leads to link removal.

It's better when you add the scam website url in code bbcode tag.
Like
Code:

Good catch, Op. I think there are reports of the post/posts that's why all the post has been deleted but could not understand why the account has not yet been banned.

I will definitely tag him in red.

I have also supported the flag as well as provided negative feedback though the account holder has no loss as the account is a newbie account.
