Title: I want sell my house for bitcoin
Post by: Pempek Kapal Selam on November 14, 2022, 03:17:25 AM
Do you think it's good that I sold the house then I buy bitcoin with all the money?
because in my own calculations, my house value didn't increase in date year by year. the value is still stagnan, it's different when compare it with bitcoin, I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

(I have 2 house, which I want sell it is abandoned house)

I think you've got the answer to your own question.
Quote
it's different when compare it with bitcoin

Don't just look at the growth of bitcoin without taking into account the risks it brings. Your home doesn't increase in value, but at least it's safe for you and real estate is considered the safest asset. For bitcoin, it might give you 3 other houses but could make you homeless in the future.
Don't and absolutely must not do that, invest with money that can be lost and make sure it doesn't affect your family's life.

In short you should know that this won't happen overnight because bitcoin is not a "get rich quick" scheme!

Considering that you said this is a secondary house that you don't use, it's OK to do this but as long as you understand the risks involved. For example price could continue dropping (meaning you could lose money) for some time or price could stay here but in both cases it could take a very long time for price to go back up for you to start seeing any profit. Can you accept the fact that you may need to wait for a year or two to see profit?

Also you should educate yourself about storing bitcoins correctly in a cold storage so that you don't just lose all that money to a hack or malware or something like that!

don't be too passionate, don't be reckless, you have to think about your family.
because investing is very risky, even though it's in bitcoin.
you have to remember the consequences, in my opinion it's too risky, it's better to invest 25% and the rest you buy a new house.

it's just my opinion,
because I also invest in bitcoin, and I know the quality of bitcoin, but I don't act rashly, and continue to be careful.

I was going to tell you no, until I saw this:

(I have 2 house, which I want sell it is abandoned house)

In that case I see it more logical, because I understand that if that house is abandoned the money from the sale you do not need. I also assume that it will not be a lot of money, but now Bitcoin is cheap, so it is reasonable.

Long-term holder trust is a 4 year cycle in which the bitcoin price is likely to rise several times naturally. But guarding bitcoins is in fact more difficult than maintaining an abandoned house. While you are in the waiting process, your management skills are at stake. I mean, are you able to keep your bitcoins intact up to the expected cycle limit from a wallet security standpoint or do you decide to switch to holding another asset that seems to be increasing faster, or something else.

Because this is your second home, it means it will not affect your family.
I'm more curious how much Bitcoin you can buy with the proceeds from the sale of your second home?
And also curious where did you get this idea? because Bitcoin is not a common form of investment in many countries (seeing from your username it is very Indonesian).
Hopefully you have obtained adequate knowledge of how Bitcoin price moves and also how you should store your Bitcoin, never use an exchange even though it is a local exchange which is always considered safe by many users, buy a Hardware wallet and store it safely

What was your profit when you bought a bitcoin in 2018 and sold it in 2021? You could answer your question: why wouldn't you buy it again today if you made a profit? Though the problem with you is that you need to look at risk; since you sold your first bitcoin, you still came back to try it again. This time, you should consider the risk: what if bitcoin continues to fall? What would you do? Are you one of the chickens that will sell it at a low price? or are you the one who, like a Spartan, holds it no matter what?

Yes, since the price of Bitcoin has decreased to $16,400, it will really help you to achieve something good when the price increase higher in the future. But let it be long term investments, because the price of Bitcoin will definitely increase higher next year to allow long term investors to experience something huge from their investments.

I will advise you to sell one house and invest in Bitcoin, and leave the other one for future purpose because the place will not remain like that forever, which development can come to that place anytime for you to change your mind of renovating the house for rent.

That's right, bitcoin is a "get poor slow" scheme!   ;)

Your houses, your choice,
but you could also just rent out the houses, and use the profit to speculate, ie: bitcoin and lottery tickets
that way if btc drops to $100 , you did not lose your entire investment, just a year or so of rental income.

Good Luck , no matter what you choose.  :)

FYI:
Things to Consider, BTC price is still dropping,
US/Europe/Canada are all still talking about banning Proof of Waste coins.
PoW miners are going bankrupt like crazy right now.
There are no guarantees BTC increases verses fiat or is not outlawed in your country.

Great advice, let someone else rent that house and take the profit to invest bitcoin. I am trying to accumulate bitcoin and when bitcoin hits my goal I will sell it and buy a house, I think even if bitcoin has more potential, I won't do the opposite. Sell my house for bitcoin, i swear I never thought about it

It is very recommended to sell the house and buy BTC now, it is another round of bear market, seize the opportunity, this time must be the best opportunity to buy.Every bear market must seize the opportunity, and the bull market can make money.

If the reason you are selling is because you have several houses, we think this is right for you to enter the bitcoin market, especially since the house you currently own is no longer productive for storing assets, and it is true that Bitcoin is able to maintain value compared to the current house. Good move, you have taken the right risk on your investment, now you can buy as many bitcoins as you want and rest assured there will be big improvements in the future.
Keep calm and hold your bitcoins.

For me this is the right step, because you don't sacrifice your place of residence in investing, that means you take advantage of unproductive assets to develop further, the risk will still exist in investing. Kudos to those of you who dare to step out of your comfort zone.

There are proven real-time incidents in which person sold his house and moved to refugee camp buying Bitcoin with all the money. Here he didn't sold just his house, he sold all his belongings. Real understanding and the life getting connected to bitcoin made him take the decision and he never thought of getting rich out of it. For OP it is a good choice, but needs to understand the market and make further decisions.

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to this question, as it depends on your personal circumstances and goals. However, if you're looking to invest in something with the potential for high returns, then buying Bitcoin may be a good option.

If you decide to sell your house to buy bitcoin, make sure you won't sell your bitcoin until the price rises. And you have to keep it properly.
Now that the price of Bitcoin is gradually falling, although it is an opportunity, it requires you to have a strong heart and insist on holding it. You should also have enough money to live on in case you need money unexpectedly.

As much as I respect your decision to selling your house to buy Bitcoin (since you have 2 houses anyways), you should be prepared for certain risks (especially unexpected ones). No one would stop you here because it’s you who is the property owner will be making the final say. It’s your full responsibility on whatever results do you get whether if it’s a profit or a loss.

As an experienced investor, I would advise you to sell those houses, especially when they are not occupied and you don't have any plans for them. Although I don't know your country and how real estate is booming there, nevertheless, it would be a very good bargain to buy Bitcoin at lower prices to sell later. Only that you would have to be careful and wise before investing the money. As no one knows the exact time that serious buyers would come for the houses, you might start the advert now, but keep the money in your bank account after selling, (USD) if possible.

Then you continue to analyze and speculate on Bitcoin and wait until a bullish trend is confirmed. For now, the trend is bearish and might go lower before it starts buying in near future.

It doesn't sound great, but if what you want to sell is an abandoned house, I think the decision is 100% yours.
Long before the decision you will make, you must first know that investing in Bitcoin does not expect to get rich in the near future, but investing in Bitcoin can maintain the value of your investment in the future as long as you are able to survive with a very volatile market situation.
Consider.

You seem to understand because you've done it before.
If we look at the current market situation, having large funds to buy is an opportunity.

Looks like you will try to convert your assets to some kind of multiple profits if you exactly gonna buy bitcoins when their price is low and wait for the next bull runs to get your money. If this is really what you gonna do and you won't gonna live in the tent for the next 2-3 years then we are rooting for you and hope that you will gonna success with such kind of investment which is really rare nowadays. today, it's really hard to decide because you never know when the price will stop rising but if you are determined, go ahead and post your progress here if possible.

It depends if you're not making profit with that house and you're not living there. If you're a realtor and you've got a lot of properties and you see more value selling it for you to get into bitcoin, I think that you just did the right thing.

Because it looks like you're not forced to sell it and that just happened based on your free will and current lifestyle situation.

But as long as you know what you're taking with the risk that selling your house and buying bitcoin with it, let's all hold our hands altogether and wait until the next bull arrives.

Bitcoin can't make you rich quickly, don't be blind or hot-headed, after all, there are risks in the case of possible profit, and there is an irreversible possibility, you must be able to bear the possibility of failure, if this house is your number One of the ten sets, then you can try your ideas.

;DMost it be your house you need to sell to buy Bitcoin? Can't you save and buy fraction of bitcoin if you can't buy 1. You sold your house in the past and bought bitcoin what happen to the profit make from the sale? Or you do the business of estate selling for bitcoin every season? Is your choice to decide good part for yourself but wise is good, you have to wait till next bull and halving. If you don't have where to stay, remember the rains  ;D coming soon before halving and bull run.

Since it is an abandoned house, it means that your funds are fully sufficient for daily expenses, and you can freely use it without affecting your normal life. The house itself has no ability to make money. It is better to realize it. Now it is in a bear market, you can Give it a try.

It's an unused house meaning they are an idle property you can sell them to invest in bitcoin. But you should research bitcoin thoroughly before making your final decision, bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme and there is no guarantee bitcoin price will increase in 2024, maybe it will go up maybe it will never go up again, the risk is always there although the probability of bitcoin rising again is higher.

If it were me, I wouldn't sell my house for bitcoin because in my opinion real estate is safe and also highly profitable, like you can rent out or inheritance for children, real estate is easy to sell but difficult to buy because prices tend to always increase, not decrease.

If it is already abandoned house, then why are you holding it for so long. I am surprised though that the value of the land is not increasing with time because real estate also grows well. Only in some places the growth in real estate has become stagnant. But if you feel that you are not getting good returns from that investment, you should sell it and then invest in whatever other type of investment you like.

The money you get by selling the house should be invested in multiple venues for diversified income sources. Like you can invest some money in gold, some in mutual funds and rest in bitcoins. One more suggestion is that even in crypto, try to invest in multiple coins to diversify.

Title: Re: I want sell my house for bitcoin

If you think like that, you can sell it immediately because you can use it to buy bitcoins at the current low price. But if we talk long term, the price of a house will go up after 5 years or maybe in a year but that also depends on the house's location.

And if you still intend to sell it, you should recalculate how much money you can get so you know how much money you can use to buy bitcoins. I'm not suggesting you buy bitcoins with all the money from selling the house because you still need that money to survive. But if you have other money to hold on to, it's nothing to worry about.

Realistically, if indeed you have 2 houses and your finances apart from selling the house can still be covered, maybe there is no problem. Especially now that you can buy Bitcoin at a very unusual discount. If I had the same property as you, it might be the same decision. Instead of leaving your house abandoned, the house will collapse if there are no occupants. Or you can rent it to other people and allocate the rented money every month to buy Bitcoin. It depends on how you want to take full advantage of buying Bitcoins or periodically.

If you have abandoned house, then it’s better to sell those and buy Bitcoins currently. I mean house has a depreciation value, so definitely it will go down as the time passes. But Bitcoins are like value-able wealth which are limited in number, so as the time passes the price of Bitcoins will grow in order to meet the demand of the society. So as a true Bitcoin supporter, I can only advise you to buy Bitcoins in these cheap price and hold it for long term, atleast for a year. Rest is upto you Op.

Though this is an abandoned house, but I really don't think this is such a good idea to sell house for Bitcoin, reason House is equally an investment asset class aside Bitcoin, I guess the reason why it's not increasing in value is as a result that it has been abandoned.

Therefore I would suggest....

(1) you renovate the house so it can start yielding money for you or
(2) lease the property to someone, maybe 3-5 years who can renovate and do business with it than to sell it, then from there you have equally generated the money your looking for to buy Bitcoin, so in the future when Bitcoin have increased in price you can payback the money and have your house back.

I will agree with your thoughts because you have 2 houses and that house is unused. Invest in bitcoin to find yourself a better return and then you can buy back that house and 2 other houses. But remember bitcoin can't make you rich quick, getting rich with bitcoin is calculated in years, 3 to 5 years to be profitable.

If I'm getting your points straight, then you want to sell one of your houses because you don't have a use for it right ?
If yes then it wouldn't be bad provided you're willing to risk the money from the sale of the house because just as you're considering the growth and rise of Bitcoin, you should also consider is bearish nature and risk involved as well as Bitcoin isn't a rollercoaster but very volatile.

If you truly want to sell the house, a d seeking for my advise then I would advise you do so because and buy the Bitcoin now because now is one of the good times to buy Bitcoin since it is still in the bearish state and we are all hoping to get the bull run but whatever the case might be, you should always have in mind that you're responsible for Al that you do.

If the house is really an abandoned house (not used). then the condition of the house is likely to rot quickly. because the house that is not inhabited always becomes easily damaged. so the resale value continues to decline.
so if you want to sell it and you use all the money to buy bitcoin. then I think it's not a problem. but you must be aware and know the risks you take. because crypto assets are high-risk assets. different from a safer home or property. However, crypto assets, especially bitcoin, also offer greater potential.

But I hope you think about it carefully. with calm and logical thinking. And don't let your emotions take over the decisions you make later. and keep doing the analysis by yourself carefully and don't be in a hurry to make a decision. because I think selling a house will not be as easy as imagined. especially in times of economic crisis like today. sometimes selling a house at this time will only be bargained for cheap. hope you think about it carefully.

I don't like to suggest people straight on the face, but in your case, I suggest you sell that abandoned house, that house's value will not increase in time or maybe the value will fall but if you invest in bitcoin it will surely give you more in return if you just hold them. So go for it.

Selling a home means including a piece of land and that's real estate, I don't believe real estate depreciates over time. Houses may fall to ruin but land is never lost, if you think real estate has no value then I can tell you there is no property worth more than it.

Investing in bitcoin may or may not be profitable, so never give advice to anyone with certainty, especially when it comes to a risky asset such as bitcoin. The higher the profit, the higher the risk, hope OP will think carefully and make the final decision and it will not let you down later.

This is a very bad decision most especially if the house is the only home you home and your family leave there, you can't predict the price of Bitcoin in the next coming years if it will be above the present price or below it. I don't think you should put in your life savings either, but you can buy the amount you can afford to lose in case the market go against your expectations. You have to think deeply and avoid taking risks you can't bear only invest in Bitcoin or any other investments the amount you can afford to lose.

When someone else wants to buy a house, you think about selling one of your houses to buy Bitcoin. Good.
In my opinion, sell me your house and don't use 1% of the money from the sale for other purposes other than buying Bitcoin when the price to buy is very good.

I dare say this because you still have a house for you to live in. If only one house then there is a desire to sell to buy Bitcoin, I think that is a bad plan that is haunting you and as much as possible we will forbid you to do it.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket

Since you own 2 houses it means you're at least a middle class or upper middle class person, so you're have enough money to pay bills and daily expenses. Why you're not just invest in Bitcoin with your idle money? why you should put all of your money including sold your houses to get more Bitcoin? what will you do if your prediction goes wrong and you loss 50% of your capital?

Think again, real estate is also a good investment for long term.

If you can afford to have that amount of money disappear overnight, then you can do so. When investing in bitcoin, all people think about is what happens if they make a profit and rarely consider what happens if they lose money. As I did when I bought bitcoin three years ago, I only thought I would get more, but I didn't think about losing half of my principal overnight. I was really desperate at that point.

because in my own calculations, my house value didn't increase in date year by year. the value is still stagnan, it's different when compare it with bitcoin, I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

Only you can decide what to do in this situation, but in fact it is a very risky action, because real estate is your property and you can rent it out and make a profit, and invest the profits in bitcoin, it would be more prudent for me, in fact, I would do so. It seems that everything looks right, but you understand that every investment is a risk, anything can happen.

Think carefully before you do this because bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme and if you want to invest in bitcoins at the expense of your home or other valuables to buy bitcoins, you should study the risks you will face later.

and my advice if you have 2 houses, you can rent your 1 house for a few months or a year for payment. And this way you can invest some or all of your rent buying bitcoins on each payment and this is the same as doing DCA which I think is the best way and the house prices will increase every year and you can increase the rent on the house and you can also increase your investment and do it for the long term.

Selling a house to invest is quite risky, you should remember that bitcoin is a risky investment, it is not as safe as you think. So think carefully before deciding. Instead of selling that house to invest why not rent it out for the long term you also get a decent amount of money to invest in bitcoin.

The benefit of renting it out is that it would be easier to DCA into BTC.

If you sell it, you'll end up with a pile of fiat that's hard to sit on and DCA out of. It will be tempting to put it all into BTC in one go. If I do that (which I may have to), I'll try and stick to a DCA strategy, e.g. divide the proceeds into 12 chunks and DCA monthly over the course of a year.

I can't find the point of your story at all. And can I also understand that the story you tell has nothing to do with reality.  And no one, including you, would ever sell their house and invest all that money in Bitcoin. This is a complete false story.  And this whole story can be concocted to excite bitcoin lovers and get some Smerit.
I'm not entirely sure about this, but my thoughts keep pushing me this again and again . So I'm sorry for my negative thinking op  :P

Personally if you think is the best thing to do then go ahead do it because is the right time. If you already sold the first time and you got 2 house after selling then is good if you then sell the 2 house again to invest in bitcoin do you believe after the dip you could get same quality of your previous house?
If yes then know something in mind it could take time for the market to recover. So my personal advise is sell only a house and investment with it maybe keep a house it should be for a landed property because I believe this is bitcoin anything is possible and you can't predict the next effects which may likely to occur time soon.

I think ops does not have a proper understanding of the Bitcoin market and from the look of things ops is in for a short-term base since his focus is on quick profit, but risking a home for a volatile asset like Bitcoin is one of the riskiest things.
Ops need to consider so many factors and if the proper judgment is not given this could lead to depression for ops in the future especially if the price of Bitcoin did not make an uptrend movement.

That is a bold step mate. Investing in house is already a stressful thing considering the long debts of mortgages and unending loans. I hope that you have made the right decision to do so even if you are in the possession of two houses! In fact property could appreciate in value over the period if surroundings are developing with the time. You could also get good value out of the land itself. If those are abandoned houses then better invest money on them, refurbish them to the next level and rent them out.

Once you rent them, you can invest the monthly rent right into the bitcoin. this will do both the things: Will save your houses from selling off and you ending up with bitcoins in your wallet every month. In fact it can also give you nice ROI considering your BEP would be lower with DCA strategy.

This is why it's important to hire a caretaker and they are the ones that will clean and do some maintenance while we are still away. That way the house will still be in good condition and its value won't decline but it will only increase. He can still repair his house first before he sells it so that buyers won't price it cheaply.

Bitcoin is actually much better to have than a house because once btc is damaged or its value goes down, it can heal on its own after some time for free but a house can't do that without the help of someone else and it's also not free. Selling a house is like selling a btc. It needs timing so that it won't be bargained by the buyers.

It is a good thing that you have brought this question to the right place. I have racked my brain to see if there's anything new I can add since most of the responses that came to mind has already been given. However, I am going to add this - be mindful of the time and this season of bitcoin. As at the time of writing this bitcoin is 16k plus. Assuming you buy sell your house and buy bitcoin and it drops further or there comes along regulation and all what not, what would you do? How would you feel? My counsel is to be wise. Investing now in Bitcoin is a huge gamble and the best strategy is DCA.

I think the risk the OP is trying to take is too much, I don't think you should sell your house because you are planning to invest, I know investing in bitcoin is a very good investment but you should be prepared to hold for long term, so the OP will be homeless or rent an apartment till bitcoin gets to his target, investing in bitcoin is nice but I won't really advise the OP to sell his house. As you said always invest any amount you can afford to lose, am sure if the OP sell the house, he can't afford to lose the money. I think the OP reconsider it before selling his house.

I don't see a problem with dividing a million dollars into 10x 100k and doing DCA with these small parts like putting in 100k now and if it goes down another 100k and so on. Given that it explodes in January and you find yourself with only 100k in, just stay out with the rest and wait it out. Worst case scenario in OP's case. bitcoin either goes to a new high and he'll have only 6 bitcoins and best case scenario it keeps going down for another 6-12 months and ends up with over 100 bitcoins and then the bull market begins.

And always remember to invest money you can afford to lose. Selling your house to buy Bitcoin isn't a bad idea if only you've other alternative for shelter then no issue. Never make the mistake of selling your asset to buy Bitcoin just in the hope that you might make some cool profit in a short time, if you do you might end up being disappointed. Bitcoin isn't a "quick money scheme" only those who are ready to hodl for a long time will make the most of it.

So make sure to think it through before you make any decision.

While it is a good thought to have considered selling your house, it is important to have firstly weighed the pros and cons of investing in crypto asset. The market these days has experienced a downturn in rate and although bitcoin has been projected to hit a 20k market cap before the year ends, I highly doubt it is right to invest all monies in acquiring any crypto asset. However, as rightly put the strategy one should employ in investing with huge cash is numerous but mostly, DCA stands out as a recommended approach.

DCA refers to consistently investing a small, fixed amount of money, which over time may yield better results, while saving you time and your nerves.

Since you are selling your second house that you are not using this is not a move that is as risky as some other major movements we have seen by other members of the forum, it seems that you want to sell when the market goes up 200% so you can get 3 houses out of your investment and this is a realistic goal, just make sure that you can hold your coins for the long term as it is easy to think you can endure the bear market, but once you have to do it many people are unable to do it.

You have 3 houses and you sold 1 of the house in 2018, and you want to repeat the same thing this year by selling one of your houses, which you'll now have 1 house at the end. In all this, why don't you lease your presumed house out for some time(depending on how long you want) and use the amount from your leased house to invest in bitcoin? That's a suggestion. If you are to take this move, you are using a stone to kill two birds(invested in bitcoin and still have your house under your control).

There'll still be other bearish and bull run coming up. Will you sell your remaining house by 2025? Since you are in the character of selling your house each bearish season.

Given that you have 2 houses and the one that you are selling is the one that is abandoned, I think it is a smart move since as you said it doesn't appreciate and you have to pay yearly tax for that.  Selling it and investing it in Bitcoin would be a good idea because we all know that Bitcoin will possibly go up in value in a year or two.  Just make sure that you won't be shaken if the price of BTC crashed after you sell your house and buy BTC.

I think you've got the answer to your own question.
Quote
it's different when compare it with bitcoin

Don't just look at the growth of bitcoin without taking into account the risks it brings. Your home doesn't increase in value, but at least it's safe for you and real estate is considered the safest asset.
I think Maidak have got the right idea to it. Bitcoin might be a fine investment and you might be doing yourself a solid by taking up a Bitcoin investment but you must understand that what your doing is a high stake risk. You might win or lose. Not all to have come into this crypto industry have left with profit. Just enough people also have made others rich and in turn, they became the more broke.
Why, thy couldn't hold on, others invested in shit coins but in your case, it seems different as you are picking a Bitcoin investment but, having to sell an asset of value like the real estate, it doesn't seem like the best of ideas for me. I won't advice it!

Do it and have no regrets. In this world you either push forward and take a risk or be that average person who struggles to pay the bills.

I'm not saying take a risk and become a drug dealer or rob a bank but putting some money in bitcoin or in your case an old house that you don't live in is a great idea.

Don't just look at the growth of bitcoin without taking into account the risks it brings. Your home doesn't increase in value, but at least it's safe for you and real estate is considered the safest asset.

You cannot compare the way bitcoin grows to the way a house thrives, houses are not deflationary in the way bitcoin is created. If you had rented it out, you would have earned money from people as well as profits by selling rather than keeping it vacant with no passive income. If you can't let it out to people, sell it when the price of bitcoin falls, that will be a great time to take a lower risk. You will always have peace of mind that bitcoin will go to zero, even though that is unlikely because it has never happened before and it will likely not, the more bitcoin goes down, the more interested investors jump in.

Selling house to invest in bitcoin is fine instead of being empty without occupants, but only if you own more than one house. You can even sell used motorbikes, used cars, used cell phones, or other used items to invest in bitcoin if all that doesn't make you miserable.

I think it's one of the most brilliant ideas I've ever heard because it seems you have a good calculation of the return you might get from investing in bitcoin. You may need to weigh the risks instead of just the profit. Bitcoin can be lost because of your mistakes, but you don't lose your house just because the price doesn't increase year after year.

Considering you have 2 houses, selling your abandoned house is okay.
However, if I were you, I won't use all the money to buy Bitcoin. I only use half for buying Bitcoin, while the rest for relatively safer investments such as gold or land. I think diversifying assets is always a better option because no guarantee for profits on Bitcoin, it is also a high-risk investment. Another consideration, sometimes we need urgent money, we can't rely on Bitcoin to sell at any time. Bitcoin is for a long-term holding, the price doesn't always increase, it may drop to a lower price in the next few months. We only can expect to sell Bitcoin in the next bullrun, unfortunately we don't know when the next bullrun really happens. It may be in 2024, 2025, or afterward.

If you believe in bitcoin and want to invest long-term, it doesn't matter as long as it's your own house and an empty house that you don't live in.

But you also have to think about the risks that can occur in bitcoin. You really have to be confident and not be a loser by dumping bitcoin cheaply when it starts to drop.

1 house that you sell might be able to buy 2 or 4 houses at once when bitcoin is starting to be bullish. long-term benefits are indeed very tempting. and right now is almost the same decline as in 2018.

If you buy bitcoin now and sell at the latest ATH maybe at $100k, you will get a lot of profit. But remember, don't change your strategy, hold on and sell at the new ATH.

Can you accept the fact that you may need to wait for a year or two to see profit?

Also you should educate yourself about storing bitcoins correctly in a cold storage so that you don't just lose all that money to a hack or malware or something like that!
Yes, I have be patient to get profit, I don't care how long it takes, 5 or more than 15 years I will accept it. I just looking how to keep it on between years, I already bought Corazon Stealth Titanium wallet and already prepare to sell my secondary house (abandoned house), but I still not sure my wallet is safe to keep my long investment.

I'm more curious how much Bitcoin you can buy with the proceeds from the sale of your second home?
If the bitcoin price between 16-17K, probably I will receive ±1BTC.

However, if I were you, I won't use all the money to buy Bitcoin. I only use half for buying Bitcoin, while the rest for relatively safer investments such as gold or land.
I don't want to buy gold because gold it's not an investment. gold is retains value, does not increase your asset value in future.

@Pempek Kapal Selam I thought you will never come back to say something about all suggestions
I understand that selling a house is not easy it takes time and it is very possible when your house is sold there will be a change in the price of btc, never wait for the price to drop or think about buying it when the price is cheap because the price of BTC changes very quickly and stays on target because you are a long term investment then buy immediately.

Think of all the risks before you start anything.

indeed investing in bitcoin for the long term is one of the best ways to invest. but I suggest not to be hasty selling a house to invest in bitcoin. indeed what you are selling is an abandoned house, but it would be better if you invest in bitcoin using cold money or money that is not used in your daily life.
you need to remember that crypto prices (including bitcoin) have a volatile nature that is very difficult to predict and carries a lot of risks. so if one day you sell your house for the sake of investing in bitcoin and experience something you don't want, of course you can be disappointed and depressed because you lost your money.

so my advice consider everything. If indeed you already have a strong will and are ready to accept all the risks that you have to accept, then do it

This kind of laziness can lead to huge profits. You really have a point when you say maintenance is a problem, and if the renter keeps breaking things then that's a huge problem. Though most people prefer to rent the home since they can get money on a monthly basis, I think it is more profitable to hold a bitcoin than to rent it in the long run.

You are very lucky to have lots of houses actually, not everyone has the luxury of owning multiple houses. So hell yes sell it and be one of those who have brave souls diving deeper.

You have got to make it worth it because losing your BTC is like selling the houses for nothing. Thinking of buying them back after profitting?

Go sell them ad Buy bitcoin, since you seems to be updated to what is bitcoin doing here and what can bring you so best to sell your houses and buy crypto instead, in another 2-4 years the price might increase high than waiting for nothing.

Several things to consider, because a house and a lot is a much safer investment and I don't believe it's value will decrease nor stagnate in a long term perspective.
You actually have a lot of options for an abandoned house.
Offer it for lease.
Though investing to Bitcoin ain't a bad idea, but the fact that this asset is very volatile, you might freak out when you see Bitcoin drops below $10k or $5k. But, If you have a huge risk appetite, then go for it, considering you don't necessarily need this property anymore.

because in my own calculations, my house value didn't increase in date year by year. the value is still stagnan, it's different when compare it with bitcoin, I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

(I have 2 house, which I want sell it is abandoned house)

Several things to consider, because a house and a lot is a much safer investment and I don't believe it's value will decrease nor stagnate in a long term perspective.
You actually have a lot of options for an abandoned house.
Offer it for lease.
Though investing to Bitcoin ain't a bad idea, but the fact that this asset is very volatile, you might freak out when you see Bitcoin drops below $10k or $5k. But, If you have a huge risk appetite, then go for it, considering you don't necessarily need this property anymore.
in this case he has 2 houses. I think it's good or not depending on the individual characteristics of each. if everyday life doesn't depend on the house to be sold, I don't think it's a problem, so we assume we can wait for bitcoin in the long term, but if we expect returns in the short term, I don't think we should do it, because no one knows when bullish will arrive

I don't know this wallet, it seems to a hardware wallet that is manufactured with the help of another hardware wallet company called Trezor but is not entirely their product. You can ask others in the Hardware wallets board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=261.0) to get better feedback on it.

As for usage and security, you should first try things out using a small amount. For example send $10 worth of bitcoin to your wallet, then try spending that amount to learn how things work. Also create a backup (assuming it gives you a seed phrase) and maybe try recovering it on an airgap system to be safe. Then you can go big.

Taking risk is also part of the returns you will get in the future but selling your house is something you can avoid if it's your primary source of residence.Suppose you sell your house and plan to live in a rented house then you will be paying extra rent but I would suggest you start putting money into bitcoin through DCA method for long term and you will be able to get another house within few years instead of selling your current one.But still if you are interested in selling house for bitcoin calculate all the risk factors.

If I understand you correctly.... you have two properties...and the one is empty? Well, my best advice would be to find someone to occupy your second property and to get some rent income from it. Then you pay all your expenses and whatever is left, can be used to buy some bitcoins.

There are a lot of hidden expenses in property ownership... Examples : Maintenance / Insurance / Admin fees / Municipal taxes / Utilities etc... so a property that are not generating an income to pay for the expenses... are a bad investment. (You also mentioned that the property value stayed the same for a few years, so you not even making a profit on that)

Option 2 : Sell the property... put the money into a Bank... take the interest on that amount and buy bitcoins.  ;) (low + high risk investment into one investment)  ;)

Before we actually get to answer the question, let me bring up a question first here: what kind of money is suitable/qualified to invest with ?  Well, not all money you have should be used as an investment, it is only the spare money that is out of the range of buying food, paying rent/mortgage, covering daily expenses that can be used completely at your will. The questioner is somehow misleading because even the house he is going to sell will not affect his living standard after it is sold, the logic behind this investment is weird. In bear market like this, prices are going down to the toilet and noboday can gurantee any turning wind in the near future. The psychology behind this "investment" is very much alike gambling. You did not look up the different environments/situations then and now but thought the God of luck would stand by you again ? Let's say you don't care about losing the house because it is an "abandoned" house as you describe. But let's get back to the point I brough up earlier, how many people can afford losing a house to invest because a lost house value wouldn't affect their life ? So please be rational and reasonable. With all due respect, misleading statements are some traps that illure some people to make wrong choices.

I like this thread because it is the opposite of how it usually is. Bitcoin normally is at an ATH and then people go crazy and want to invest everything they have. Now bitcoin is low and I can actually somehow support to invest your house. Still I would never give business advice in an online forum.

If you had rented it out, you would have earned money from people as well as profits by selling rather than keeping it vacant with no passive income.
No, I won't rented my house because maintenance is very huge than If I hold BTC in 10 years.
I also lazy to collect the rent each month.

There you are making an assumption , that holding btc for 10 years will be extremely profitable.
You are confusing past performance with future profits, that usually ends badly.

Let say you sold that house ~1 year ago for $320000 US Dollars.
You converted that $320000 US Dollars to 5 Bitcoins.
Holding it for 1 year, your fiat value of those 5 bitcoins is only $85000.
So you lost access to $ 319915 of fiat value.
That is a very bad move.
But you are like ok, I can wait 10 years.
While you are waiting for BTC to grow to $1 million.

Scenario 1: Very Likely in less than 5 years
The US / Canada / Europe Governments all ban PoW mining and outlaw any trading of PoW coins.
Your bitcoins worth become inaccessible to you almost overnight as the price per coin plummets as all Corporate and Ultra rich investors received early warning from Political allies and cashed out. Leaving the smucks that think BTC can only go up, to get crushed, like a Tulip under a 800lb fat man.

Scenario 2:
A little paid attention to fact, is that anyone in these forums since the beginning have seen many well know users die in a 10 year time frame.
Their BTC lost, because they kept their private key secret from everyone.
Not everyone reading this post will be alive in 10 years, morbid but true.

Scenario 3:
Like many you purchased your BTC all at once and instead of testing sending a little, you just sent it all on the 1st try to an incorrect address and lost it forever.

Now is it possible you avoid all of those scenarios and cash out at $100000 per bitcoin,
sure, it is a possibility not a guarantee.

Which is why all crypto is a speculative investment.
By thinking BTC is guaranteed to increase in price in 10 years, you think it is a guaranteed reward, it is not.
It is a gamble that can pay off big or wipe out your entire investment.
If you don't respect that , it will bite you, just like that guy Sam at FTX.

Guaranteed and Speculation are two different things.  8)

Even though you keep the house it will be a waste. And if you say, you want to renovate it, you will spend a lot of cash to renovate it and probably you don't have enough money to do that. But issue is technical. If it was me, I would have rented it out and use the money from the rent to buy Bitcoin, for renting it, the land and building is still your own,. And you can be making money from the rent every year and also using it to buy Bitcoin Everytime the tenants paid their rents.

But that is you personal decision, either you rent it to make money from the both sides or you sell it and use all the money to invest on Bitcoin. I prefer renting. But the final decision is yours

I already bought Corazon Stealth Titanium wallet and already prepare to sell my secondary house (abandoned house), but I still not sure my wallet is safe to keep my long investment.
It is one of the more luxurious wallets in terms of looks, they have a partnership with Trezor. Maybe someone already has experience with using this wallet, so that might help you.

No, I won't rented my house because maintenance is very huge than If I hold BTC in 10 years.

OP if you insist on selling your house to buy bitcoin as your long-term investment, then that is your full right. You are responsible for the management of your funds even if some people can advise you in a better way. I fully support your interest in bitcoin, but never blame people if in the next 5 - 10 years your investment doesn't work [it will likely work].

Well, listen, even the thought of such a decision suggests that a person underestimates the whole situation, and this threatens with very bad consequences. It is difficult to imagine what will happen if Bitcoin continues to fall in price.

If you can carry your personal life in one house then you should go for it. But if you still have any doubts about it then follow what will be the best for you.
If the abandoned house is in some good place, then you can rent it to other people for stable money. Which in my opinion is a good thing.
For BTC, we don't really know when the bull market will begin. If you trust the people saying BTC will rise again [I believe it will] then you can make some profit out of that. But no one knows how long that will take.
And it will be a one time profit as it will take much more time than this to go on a bear market again after the bull run. you have to keep that in your mind too.

There are several ways that the OP can do?
First: Sell the house with the assumption because it is not used, then build a bitcoin investment, even though the investment made will be faced with risk.
Second: Rent out the house and use the rent to invest in bitcoin.
These two patterns look good to practice, but the first option is much more innovative in terms of utilization, because if you calculate the use of rent for the house, it is not much more effective than investment. Technological developments in the utilization of money must be utilized to greater advantage, this will not be achieved if only pattern number two is used.

In the end, whatever decision the OP takes is the path of choice, this cannot be influenced by anyone, but I think investing in Bitcoin is the right choice for now.

You have to do your research before doing that because basically bitcoin investment is not going to get rich quick for you even though we know bitcoin has a 4 year cycle where it will be bullish again so it's still not certain to happen even though I believe bitcoin will peak again (ATH)

It doesn't matter if you want to do it and sell 1 house and then invest it all in bitcoin as long as this won't be a pressure for you in the future, prepare your mind for this and don't panic in any case including when bitcoin crashes again.
Well, everyone wants bitcoins with the investment they make, but not this way, but that's how you sell your house, you can do it.

What I know is that house values grow every year (YoY) by 7-12 percent, this is consistent and stable compared to bitcoin which fluctuates greatly, you might be able to compare how the growth of house values and high volatility bitcoin, you don't just get tempted because of an increase of thousands of percent but think about how you could weigh all of that.

I didn't do that even though I have two houses for example, but I have more money then that's what I have to invest in bitcoin.

The house is abandoned and it will be better to put on sale so that there's money that will come to the owner of it and then eventually, it'll be on an investment which is bitcoin.
The price is low right now and I think the timing is great because he'll get more bitcoin after the sale if ever there's someone who's going to pay it directly with bitcoin.
But I think, due to paper works, he has to let it flow or receive cash first and then just use it to buy bitcoin.

"Abandoned house", here is your answer actually. To be honest you aren't risking anything. If it's not your living house then this isn't high risky. Leaving for nothing better sell and buy Bitcoin. If I were you then I would do the same thing. But it shouldn't hurt your lifestyle at all. Because cryptocurrency investment is always risky hence it gives you a high return. So you should have enough patience to hold till you make good money. Nothing out of risk in the space.

I don't see a problem with selling a house for bitcoin. The rule is you should never go all in, but what is all in really? I'm all in bitcoin which means that I have all my liquid assets invested, but I'm not all in to the point that if I lost my investment I wouldn't have anything to eat or a place to live. If I lose all my btc which is very unlikely I'll just won't be able to afford a new car or to go abroad for holidays. That's the risk I can take.

As long as you still have another house, it may be okay. But, you need to remember one thing, investing in Bitcoin will be worthy if you are doing long-term investments. At least, this is still a bearish era and you are investing at least until the bullish era to gain higher profits. For, if you are expecting for short term period to get big profits, this will not work very well. Moreover, Bitcoin price during the bearish era is very volatile, plus the emerge of the FUD is sometimes very influencing the price.
However, the most important thing is the risk, you need to be ready for the risk and manage it. If you have been considering about the plus and minus of selling an abandoned house, you can take the decision wisely.

Turning your investment into another more profitable investment is indeed a great idea but consider risks before engaging into it. If your decision is finalized, then that's good. Be aware that the market price of Bitcoin is volatile and we have no assurance of its direction;such as when will its market price go up again in this bearish market trend. Ofcourse investing an amount while the market prices are still low, would be best but the question is; would you be able to hold it until the market value rises up? There are unexpected instances and circumstances. If you think you'd end up pulling your investment 'on the road' then think again whether to invest or not in this industry.

actually it doesn't matter if you sell your abandoned house and it's certain that you already have a residential house for your days,
investing in bitcoin is not to get rich because as we know the value of bitcoin is not fixed and always changing, the 4-year cycle also cannot be used as a benchmark for getting profits later because we don't know what the highest value of btc will be later
whatever you do and it has become a decision is your risk, daring to invest in btc means daring to lose later

Regarding the current price of Bitcoin, I agree that it is low enough to buy now. He can plan to hold for several years (target selling 2024-2025). He can expect to gain profits only in 3 years. Investing in Bitcoin is always more profitable than any other thing because it has a big volatility.

You shouldn't bet on your future based on your speculative thoughts. That was a risky move.

However, if you understand the risks then it's your decision to push that plan of yours.

It's really interesting to speculate good things in the future however, we don't know if you will able to manage properly it on the way while waiting for bitcoin's moon price.

Bitcoin is a good investment and it will better if you will be able to wait and see the best offer from the market. Since you have done it before them I think it will be a good idea if you do it again since Bitcoin is in a dip market now and you can stand a chance to make a lots of money if you buy low and sell higher with bigger gain.
I will always advise people to invest in Bitcoin no matter the circumstances especially when they have other fund s they can be using to take care of their needs and pay bills which is very important. If you want t sell your house and by Bitcoin knowing the risk then it's good move.

You shouldn't bet on your future based on your speculative thoughts. That was a risky move.

However, if you understand the risks then it's your decision to push that plan of yours.

It's really interesting to speculate good things in the future however, we don't know if you will able to manage properly it on the way while waiting for bitcoin's moon price.
but I think he doesn't gamble when comparing his asset with bitcoin because bitcoin is already showing us the profit in the last 12 years. Maybe that points make him brave to change their product investment. I fully support him, he just needs a good moment when the bottom bitcoin is ready to do an entire job, maybe from his estimated 1 BTC to 1.5 or 2.

I think if you have a lot of houses, I think they can be sold and the money used to buy bitcoins. as long as you have a lot of houses and what is being sold is a house that is not used by you. I think your decision is right because right now to buy bitcoin is a good opportunity because the market is down.

It is clear that he has 2 houses. 1 house is for living and 1 house is the abandoned one.
No, he won't be homeless since he has a house to live in. That's why he is brave to sell the abandoned house.

Regarding the current price of Bitcoin, I agree that it is low enough to buy now. He can plan to hold for several years (target selling 2024-2025). He can expect to gain profits only in 3 years. Investing in Bitcoin is always more profitable than any other thing because it has a big volatility.
OP has two houses and he try to sell one and used for investing in bitcoin, based on speculation about how faster growing up increase investment assets between property and Bitcoin actually have faster earn profit with Bitcoin. Not bad ideas if OP try to sell his house and invested in Bitcoin trough price still drop right now. Just have little step by OP because he can't directly selling his house used Bitcoin as investment currency, need to sell cash or fiat and later used or convert to invest in Bitcoin.

OP have one step forward thinking about faster profit earn when holding his house as property or use other chance by converting with Bitcoin and actually he can earn much profit later but depending with Bitcoin can reach higher price.

Not me but none can suggest you sell your house and use the money to invest in bitcoin because that's a risky decision and completely depends on yourself and your situation. As far as I know, most people will invest what they can afford to lose even taking a loan for investing is not a good idea, so selling your house will be the most dangerous decision you can make. However, there are many people who got lots of money by just doing these risks but that's a risky decision.

If you have more assets why not. Selling your house for Bitcoins can be a great opportunity for you especially at a discount like now. I'm sure you will get much more out of your previous property because Investments actively seek to profit from price fluctuations with buy/sell trades.
There is no guarantee that he will achieve good profits through which he can obtain his previous properties. Undoubtedly, investing in bitcoin is the best investment in history, but it carries a lot of risk because the crypto market is very volatile, so I advise everyone not to rush to sell their properties such as his house or car. Etc. In exchange for buying bitcoin, he must invest with money that he can lose, money in excess of his salary, and so on, although the profits may be large, but we must look wisely as to the loss may also be large.

Assuming this house isn't your only home, why not take a chance and sell it? Now crypto markets are down and this is a better time to invest than if you bought bitcoin during a bullish trend. I don't presume to recommend this step for sure, because I don't know all the nuances of your case and therefore, you yourself must think about the final decision, weighing all the risks. If you plan to multiply the money within 2-3 years, then it may turn out that due to unforeseen circumstances you will receive a profit much later. Therefore, you need to be prepared for surprises in the crypto market.

I also agree with what you said. If his house is abandoned then of course you can sell that abandoned house and buy bitcoins with that money. I think this is completely reasonable. Because you have two houses. In that case you can buy bitcoin by selling house. Now the price of Bitcoin is very cheap.Right now if you can sell your house at a good price then surely you can buy high amount of bitcoins. And you can build a house of your choice by selling bitcoins when the price goes up a lot.

Selling the house and buying Bitcoin, my assessment is a bad idea, remember, this is the internet you never know what will happen next, profit if after you buy it goes up, but what if it happens the other way around, the risk is bigger than what you think, don't just think fortunately, you have to think the situation is bad when it happens.

My advice.
If you still want to buy Bitcoin there are many ways you can do it, what's more, you have two houses, if you don't live in the house, you can rent out the two houses for a minimum period of 10 years/house, Of course you can do that and money can be bought in Bitcoin with the rent, you automatically have no risk if things go wrong, that's a suggestion, a consideration of course you have the right to make a choice.

Title: Re: I want sell my house for bitcoin

"Abandoned house", here is your answer actually. To be honest you aren't risking anything. If it's not your living house then this isn't high risky. Leaving for nothing better sell and buy Bitcoin. If I were you then I would do the same thing. But it shouldn't hurt your lifestyle at all. Because cryptocurrency investment is always risky hence it gives you a high return. So you should have enough patience to hold till you make good money. Nothing out of risk in the space.
Selling the house that isn't in use to buy bitcoin is a good choice. Some used to rent the additional ones and make regular income out of it. Selling the house and buying bitcoin is a good choice if OP have got the patience to hold. If not, he could try renting the home in exchange for bitcoin. OP can receive initial deposit and regular income in the form of bitcoin.
Bro, if the house is just left useless then he can take the risk. If Op doesn't have a regular income to carry family expenses then he won't think to invest in Bitcoin. He could use his money after selling the house. But if he isn't forced to use real life then won't buying Bitcoin a good choice? Risk is everywhere, even if you do a real-life business there is also risk. So think deeply. If not take the risk, can't be the gainer. I am pretty sure Bitcoin will recover today or tomorrow.
If you do have the money and its not really that needed for you to sell out one of your properties then you should do it.Its not necessary on selling out houses just for you to invest with bitcoin
since we could do it on fractions.Dont rush up yourself on doing such decision because properties does have appreciation and doesnt depreciate.Even though its on idle situation
but im not really a fan on selling out properties which does have potential.

If you could buy bitcoin without needing to sell something then you should do it.Buying gradually and considering that we are on a market where its dipping or on simply
with bears then it is really that cheaper which is something a good entry point for you to get in.
Property value won't depreciate, but beyond certain point it won't increase. The value will be almost stable. In such situation it is good to take an entry into bitcoin, selling the house. Going for bitcoin buying without selling the house is always good, but at times what OP said seems to happen. If he had sold it yesterday now he could be able to buy two house, as the market of bitcoin could go high in no time.
Based up on real experience and scenario which i do have some property been bought then i could say that their value does increase overtime but as i said that it would really be varying on the location which is

a huge factor which would really affect out those numbers but if not then it would turn out to be moving sideways which you do actually have the point.

Well, it doesnt matter on where you do make yourself that stick out as long you could really make some profits or do take advantage then it is really your risk to take.
Not all would really be that confident on such situation and this is where risk taking would be taking place.

Do you think it's good that I sold the house then I buy bitcoin with all the money?
No.

I would not recommend that. Invest into Bitcoin is great in the future but I would rather just use that house and change it to dorm so other people can live in there. You can charge each person there with reasonable price and people would love to live in there. It's really good for passive income and you can use that money for Bitcoin investment in the future.

I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

If you insist to actually sell it, then how long will you wait until you can buy 3 house?
That event would repeat in next day, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years or never. I would prefer to do something that is already benefit.

You have a great plan but I think you overlaps the condition of an abandoned house which will cost too much for a repair if OP want to make it as a rental house. But of course, it depends on what decision OP would take if he ever accepted your suggestion though we don't really know what is the financial situation of OP to consider your suggestion that's why it's up to OP.

And lastly, investing in Bitcoin and gaining a good profit won't just happen overnight and if you are only planning to buy during the bull run, you might missed too much since bear market is always the best time to buy cheaper price. Waiting for the bull run to happen then buying the price that almost took closer to the ATH won't give you a decent profit.

You want to sell your house and invest in BTC well for me thats not a bad idea but that depends on how many houses you are having. And one thing again you must understand a few things about the market too, yes one would say the market now is perfect to invest but how long can you hodl to see the market rise and if you are planning on getting more profits over night I can't promise  that possibility at the moment seeing that we are in a bear market and anytime the prices of bitcoin can even plunge deeper..

So I think the whole thing depends on you

Don't you think how the house is to be rented annually? Obviously this will have a good impact on selling it because you want to buy bitcoin and indeed for you it may not be a bad idea but think again how in other ways and you can still invest in bitcoin.

If the house is abandoned then you need to renovate it to make it more attractive and be able to rent it out to others, I see the rental prices in Asia are quite high, you can see here: https://www.globalpropertyguide.com/Asia/rent and it depends on the variation your own house may be bigger and nicer then the price will be higher.

I know investing in bitcoin is not a bad idea people always want to own bitcoins for the purpose of future assets with multiples of value but need to think about the greater risk there than renting out a house which will be more friendly to you.

I don’t see any good reason to sell your house. Instead, it will only increase the chance of losing your money plus your house if you aim for quick profits in the market especially that we are still in a bearish market yet. How about make a good renovation if it’s already old, and then look for trusted tenants that can pay you a good amount monthly. That way, your house is still in your own possession, and you also make good profits out of it.

Definitely not a good decision as you might lose your money in the end by chasing for more profits with bitcoin. You can always make money with your house regardless of the season by renting it, unlike bitcoin that it’s hard to see good profits particularly when the market is in a deep bearish. So never make rush decision this time to avoid making regrets in the end.

Bitcoin is a digital asset, which we can feel, but can not touched it, while the house you bought or build with bitcoin digital money is an asset that you are leaving or taking rate as the case may be. the question you ask, have already have a clear answer to buy now as bear market is currently on, which to sell for next bull run market, if to sell the house is the only way to race a funds, is a personal decision since you know the industries works in a bitcoin circle for every four years price difference increments.

If I get it right, you have 2 houses, one you want to sell, as it is abandoned. Wont renting this house and investing received amount in Bitcoin be a more safe strategy for you? You will keep the house and still have Bitcoin. Dont get rush with selling decision. Bull market might now start soon. I offer you a stable but low income, instead of risking. Because in case you have failed, you would return back to 2018, to were you have started, which means you havent achieved anything during 5 years :D

abandoned house? it would be better if you sell that and invest the money into bitcoin (if I were in your position, then I would immediately do it). Renting it out will only provide a small passive income, especially if the location of the house is not in a strategic area.
bitcoin will definitely be bullish in the future, so don't miss the opportunity that is available now, now the price of bitcoin is minus more than 60% of ATH, therefore the best moment to buy is now.

Selling your properties just because you want get rich quickly is not advisable.if you decided to sell the house now and buy Bitcoin how sure are you that you will not letter also sell the Bitcoin to buy coins or tokens just because Bitcoin may not  have increased value by the you may side to sell with of getting rich. House a very good investment which is very hard to depreciation like that, the house may not add value now because you not wait enough. So the better advice is for to place it in rent so you can be using he profit you get to be buying Bitcoin time to time.

Selling houses to buy Bitcoin is not the problem but the risk that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency generally involve is my concern. Just know that the back of your mind that can you afford to lose those houses because they always warn us to invest what we can afford to lose. You can sell the houses if only the houses is not valuable to you again but that should not be because you want to get rich quickly, if not your calculations may not work out.

You should be financially literate before making such huge decisions. You should understand demand, supply, asset value, diversification, liquidity, volatility, probabilities etc...
Your house is a physical asset which holds a good value. Although its ROI might not be as good as bitcoin but you can consider it as a safe asset.
Bitcoin is a volatile asset and it's value keeps increasing and decreasing. Although its ROI is good year on year but any point of time it can decrease in value.
We cannot compare a real estate house with bitcoin because both are different and has their own pros and cons.
So the point is if you are already holding some bitcoins then you don't need to sell your house and if you some extra houses which are abandoned other than the house you live in then you can consider selling it and investing that amount somewhere.

At least you should have good knowledge and emotional control before you invest all your money in bitcoin. You should be concerned about the risks involved including the pressure of needing money if you have no other reserves. But if you have considered all the risks and have consulted with some experienced people, then I'm sure you can do it.

Make sure you have a secure way to store your bitcoins for the long term. A hardware wallet is definitely recommended for you, but make sure you also perform regular backups for your better security.

New investors will continue to appear who are interested in the success stories of those who have succeeded in making profits up to tens of times from Bitcoin. Your idea is not too bad, you calculate that you can buy three houses from the profits from Bitcoin. Sounds very interesting, especially after hearing many stories from investors who suddenly got rich.

I can define your greatest interest in Bitcoin is inseparable from the promised high return, but it must be remembered that the risk from the financial side is also very large, proportional to the promised return. So, before you sell a house to buy Bitcoin, you must be accompanied by qualified insight and knowledge, not just because you are joining in. In addition, it must also be accompanied by a strong mentality.

If at this time the OP managed to sell the house and directly enter the bitcoin market, then the amount of bitcoins that will be received will be much larger, considering the current Bitcoin price is still in the range of $16K.

(I have 2 house, which I want sell it is abandoned house)

abandoned house? it would be better if you sell that and invest the money into bitcoin (if I were in your position, then I would immediately do it).

He can sell it because this is an unused home, but you should not say that Bitcoin will definitely increase the price in the future, all are just predictable and nothing sure here. Bitcoin may increase or will never increase and buy Bitcoin you can buy anytime but for real estate, I'm not sure, you can sell but to buy back is sometimes a problem.

The sublease of that house may be a small income but it is passive and you use that money to invest and accumulate Bitcoin not too bad. It will help you minimize risks as well as accumulate Bitcoin, investing in Bitcoin is not in a hurry and nothing is too late.

I already thought that the bitcoin forum (bitcointalk) community will always support bitcoin in whatever situation, but for now, I bit surprised many of them were a bit contrary after the OP is very believed if bitcoin is the future because want to change quite a credible investment (property) to bitcoin. I don't know anything about long-risk or short-term investment, but when I look at how the bitcoin price is growing up every year over and 5-year term period, the OP is very smart and genius in how to make money in the future by changing investment methods.

I think this is great idea if you have 2 house and you sold one house and bought bitcoin because it is 4 year cycle when bitcoin price will be rise up and I think this is a right time to buy a bitcoin in bear market. You will hold bitcoin for a long time you definitely get a profit from holding.

You are only thinking of the positive side of this. You need to think also about the risk of your investment. What if the price of bitcoin continues to fall in the coming years? Do you have a backup plan? How do you react? Don't put all your eggs in one basket, as others have suggested. What I recommend is that if you are serious about selling your home, you should not invest all of your money in bitcoin; instead, try to invest it in other things, such as starting a business, so that if the price of bitcoin becomes unsustainable, and you can't take it then you can sell it. Though I'm sure it was guaranteed to be up in the future, it's just thinking about both sides of the risk to be prepared.

Some early adopters of bitcoin did go through this route and became homeless as a result , but fortunately there is some good to the risky undertaking as crypto paid them handsomely after a short period and made instant millionaires . But as for 2022 and beyond, I wouldn't advice anyone to gamble there home believing money will grow on trees, if you are a short term holder buy some bits of btc every month and see your portfolio grow.

This is very risky! Risk/Reward ratio unknown :)
Believe it or not, numbers are intimidating... RR should be 1:500X  ;D

OP is smart investor by comparison between property investment increasing profit in how long time than investing his assets in Bitcoin, I think smart ideas did by OP when selling house and converted it in Bitcoin. In property beside difficult to find with increasing price drastically in short time we have paying taxes when selling our house but in Bitcoin controlling in our hands and not need with taxes paying because in my country have highest taxes when making transaction for selling property.

I hope OP found the new costumer want to buy his house and converted it in Bitcoin, accepted Bitcoin directly as payment currency seems difficult based on country OP not allowed accepted Bitcoin as payment way.

Op title sounds very experimental i would prefer not to do it as far as a safe play is concerned. If its your livings house then dont even think about it. If you own it as an holding asset then you can think about it but still its a very very risky choice as if you are not a good holder then it can cost you a lot. Thats the fact too risk brings Money but sometimes you better know...

yes, indeed by selling a house for bitcoin there must be a risk because we will not know whether investing in bitcoin will experience a loss or profit. because indeed in investing it is better to use idle money, do not use money from the sale of our own assets. but of course the choice is in the hands of the OP.
but as OP said that he has more than one house. so in my opinion if he sells it and the money from selling his house is used to invest in bitcoin I don't think there is a problem, because he has more than one house.

For me, this still depends, you can not measure it now if you lose or win because you will use the proceeds of the house to buy it for Bitcoin and hold it for the long term or wait for the price of Bitcoin to pump and sell it for profits (this is difficult). We don't know what will happen to the price of Bitcoin.
Why accepting other coins to buy your house, you can sell it for fiat and convert that fiat to Bitcoin, very easy.

Well, the decision is yours but before that ask yourself, will you be fine (and your family) if you sell your house to buy Bitcoin given that it might take a long period before you profit?

You're positive and confident in Bitcoin as a profitable investment, it's a good mindset. However, look for the negative side too, if something went wrong and your expectation didn't happen, are prepared for it and can you accept that fact? You're the one who can answer this.

It means that the first time you sold your house that you bought with bitcoin in the year 2018, you have already made a profit if you sold the bitcoin in the year 2021. That means, at least you made a good profit during these times.

Now with the two houses you have because they are abandoned, do you want to sell them to buy bitcoin again this time? Are you planning to do the same as you did with the first house you sold?

Maybe you know what you're doing, because if you're not sure you won't think of planning to sell your abandoned house. But if you can't stop yourself from doing these plans of yours, maybe this time it's better that your capital don't allocate everything you can sell to bitcoin,
it's better to buy only bitcoin instead and allocate some money to buy to other altcoins that also have the potential to give you income in the future.

In OP's case it's an abandoned house which means they should be fine if they sell it but there's one other thing OP needs to keep in mind that, Bitcoin is still considered a risky investment, it can make us profitable but also make us lose.

While bitcoin has proven that it always increases over time (history shows us that), there is no guarantee that history will definitely repeat itself. The future of bitcoin is a question mark.

OP can invest in bitcoin but should only invest with money that you can bear loss, should not think only of profit but think of the risk that you face.

Yes, indeed because investing is definitely risky. but in any investment there must be a risk. it's just that if we don't dare to take risks, of course we won't get any benefits. according to me
if our sell a house and the money will be used to buy bitcoin, in my opinion that's a good thing. because as the OP said, that is if he has a lot of houses and there are houses that are not used. and he will sell it and the proceeds to buy bitcoins. so I think what the OP is going to do is a good thing.

I think the OP's thinking in this case is right that the OP wants to use real objects or assets (houses) to invest. The market is very volatile, but investing in Bitcoin in my opinion will not disappoint.

From your explanation I see you want to sell both of your house. This could cost you a lot. I will advise you to sell only 1 and leave the other house. Bitcoin is not a safe investment in the short term but if you leave it for long then you probably gonna make huge return in the future

I don't know your financial condition, and also your family's economic condition. So whether it's the right choice or not, the answer is on you. But if I were in that position, I would prefer to rent out the house now instead of selling it. I think it's safer in that way because I can't predict where Bitcoin will go in the next year.

I think if you sell your abandoned house it is too reckless and too big a risk.
Why do you have to sell your abandoned house?
Instead of selling it, why don't you think visionary?
I mean why don't you think about renting out your abandoned house?
Don't you think that there are many people out there who want to build a house but they can't afford it.
Or maybe you can open a business in your abandoned house?
I think a house is an asset for the future of you and your family.
Every year the price of land will always rise and of course it's a valuable asset for the future.
Maybe my advice is to take advantage of your abandoned house to produce something, maybe for rent or to build a business in that house.
Rent the house and you can take advantage of the results of renting your abandoned house and then you invest it in bitcoin, I think that is the thing that makes the most sense to me.
But it's up to you, it's all yours and all decisions and risks are yours to determine, I can only give some advice.

Based on individual mindset about Bitcoin as worth investment or not, I think OP have final decision for selling house and convert or invest into Bitcoin. Have positive and negative side when investing in Bitcoin than keep hold his house as property investment, Bitcoin can increase up and down drastically in few moment time different when OP keep holding his house as property investment actually waiting several years later with house values increase up more than 20% until 40%. But have positive side with property without any drastically price drop just have unpredictable bad happening like earthquake. I don't see any update yet from OP after first time he wrote selling house for Bitcoin, I am waiting have sold out with his house or still have negotiation about price for selling.

It is not an easy decision for anyone to sell his house for bitcoins. Though everyone would like to have bitcoin but if one sells his house, will create some complications as he will have to find an alternate house to live in, probably a rented one. He should also have extra money to afford the rent as the money invested in bitcoin can't be used immediately as bitcoin may take 2 to 3 years to reach another all time high.

But in your case, it is an easy move as you have two houses and selling the one may not cause you any trouble. Also, bitcoin may reach a minimum of 3x if it reaches its all time high again and no other investment can give you this much return for sure.

Nooo.....You must be out of your mind to even think about doing such an illogical thing. I don't understand why would you risk smith like that. Bitcoin business is not for risk taking at all. If you have stable income and some savings, go ahead, invest, but selling your house is not the best idea. Invest in Bitcoin only that much amount which you can afford to lose. Bitcoin is unregulated, speculative and an unpredictable currency. It looks lucrative only as long as the bubble hasn't burst.
Furthermore, Succesful investors always try to diversify their portfolios, as somebody has already mentioned above so putting all your money in one currency is not generally a good idea.
That said, others can only advise you what to do. I personally sold my Appartement ( the only home at that point ) to get into a school at some point in my life and I don’t regret this decision. Ultimately, use your own common sense and best judgment.
But no, it’s not a good idea

This is very risky! Risk/Reward ratio unknown :)
I will advise op not to sell his house to buy Bitcoin for now since we don't know how long the market will take to go bullish again. This might take like 2 to 3 years for the market to reach the previous high that was attained before. Inflation is increasing everyday and the worth of land properties are also adding value so if op thinks he want to sell his house, then he needs to consider this as a fact because the worth of his property is adding value too.

Investing in Bitcoin is good but it is wrong to take a decision out of emotion without proper survey of the crypto market. If you have genuine reasons and you know you have other things that will keep you going then you can continue.

I am very much not comfortable with the idea of selling your house, two of your houses in that matter to buy Bitcoin.
Where I come from people invest in Bitcoin sell it and use it to buy land and house. You have already gotten a land and house on it and you want to sell it to buy Bitcoin.

I do not think that it is a very wise move, assuming it is only the house it would have been somehow understandable but now you will sell both the house and the land it is on to buy Bitcoin. In as much as you said that the houses are abandoned which means no person leave in it and it is deteriorating every now and then , that means you can decide to sell it off now that the market is in bear. In the next 4 to 5 years you will get your return and be able to buy more than what you have now.
It is a risk, and everyone takes their own risk according to their dimensions

Don't just look at the growth of bitcoin without taking into account the risks it brings. Your home doesn't increase in value, but at least it's safe for you and real estate is considered the safest asset. For bitcoin, it might give you 3 other houses but could make you homeless in the future.
Don't and absolutely must not do that, invest with money that can be lost and make sure it doesn't affect your family's life.
Bitcoin investment still not guarantees secured profits because of its high volatility, so never compromise your property just because you are tempted on the future profits of bitcoin. Your property will always be your own possession no matter what but with bitcoin, you will never hold an assurance that it won’t lost its value and you sell it eventually at a cheaper price. You can always invest in bitcoin if you want, but only an amount that you can afford to lose, and selling your house will never be reasonable and definitely an illogical thing to do.

But Bitcoin graph shows that Bitcoin can be a good investment for profit especially when a person or investors buy Bitcoin when it is at the bottom.  We have seen that every halving, there is a huge rally of Bitcoin market.  If a buyer is wise enough to know this trend then it is 100% that investing in Bitcoin is profitable.

Maybe selling a house in which a family resides is illogical. Here the house OP have planned to sell is an additional house that is not in use. Selling the house could help him invest into cryptocurrencies. One thing, he need to prepare his mind to accept the positive and negative market move. Also, he should have the patience to experience the best out of the investment. If his plan was to sell the house, buy bitcoin and the next day sell bitcoin and buy two house. This won't happen.

The answer is right in front of you bro. Assuming am in your position and own two houses out of which one is abandoned and I don't have the capital to develop it to a state where I can rent it out to generate income, I would consider selling it and putting 70% of the funds on btc. No doubt in 2 to 3 years to come btc must have increased more in value, enough for me to buy a decent house for rent.
As long as you have a goal and know when to take advantage when btc hit your price target, you will be glad to make that decision.

Selling a house to buy Bitcoin is indeed not an option that can guarantee a return as expected, but rather than the house being abandoned, I think selling and buying Bitcoin is a good step in my opinion.
We do not want to equate or differentiate Bitcoin with gold.

The OP wants to sell an unused or unoccupied house. For me it's a good OP plan selling an abandoned house to buy Bitcoin at a time like the current price and the current market situation could be a good opportunity.
I think the OP's thinking in this case is right that the OP wants to use real objects or assets (houses) to invest. The market is very volatile, but investing in Bitcoin in my opinion will not disappoint.
It is an unused house meaning it is an idle asset so he can sell it to invest in bitcoin but there is no 100% guarantee it will bring him profit as well as create 3 other houses as he dreamed. Bitcoin is still a risky investment, besides thinking about profit, what should we think about if it does not rise again in the future? The higher the return, the higher the risk, there is no proof that bitcoin is always profitable without risk, bitcoin is no safer than real estate and gold.
Bitcoin is indeed a risky investment and up to being a risky investment but chooses to invest in Bitcoin as a form of preserving value. I'm not saying that selling abandoned houses and investing in bitcoin is bad, but I want to remind OP that bitcoin is still a risky investment, it's not as safe as he thinks it is. When investing, we should take into account the return as well as the risk to make a decision with no regrets later. Our mutual advice to each other has always been to invest only money that can be lost and that is the message I want to send to the OP. Bitcoin can provide greater returns than any investment, but its risks are also not small.

Winning a lottery is very rare, and your odds of winning are 1 in 14 million, which is close to impossible, but still, there are lucky people who win it, so you still have a chance to win a lottery. The less risk we see, the less profit or money we gain—that's how it works. Bitcoin has a higher risk, but it also has a higher return; it is entirely up to you whether you want to take that risk or not. In life, we really need to take risks to be successful, but when we lose, let's just treat it as a lesson and learn from it.

In order to be a successful person, we have to step out of our comfort zone and if we want to have what others don't have, we have to do what others can't. That is the price to pay for success.

I support this thought of the OP, although it is risky and risky, but if we succeed, what we achieve is not small and that result can be equal to our cumulative lifetime. but OP should also consider that if you fail, take it as a lesson, not an end.

If you intend to sell your abandoned house that is fair enough, however never make any attempt to sell your own living home, I believe you wanted to take a risk by buying bitcoin now for long term perspective in a bid to earn reasonable amount of profits compared to an abandoned house that is not appreciating in value rather depreciating, I think the risk worth it considering the past history of Price Action of bitcoin for every bearish sentiment their is usually a period when the price will pump to attain ATH, if you decided to  buy now there is a big opportunity coming up for long term hodlers ahead because of bitcoin halving in 2024.

If you actually have 2 houses and you don't absolutely need the second one then you could sell it, invest part of the money in bitcoin but also I would suggest to keep part of that money for any kind of emergency or even to buy more bitcoin in case of a new dumps, which are always a possibility.

I hope the op is aware that bitcoin investment is not a quick money scheme where you invest today and expect a huge return within a few hours as they always claim. Since the house is not useful due to its location, selling the house and investing part of the money to bitcoin is fine but I hope the op has a good knowledge of bitcoin before investing otherwise I will suggest you seek knowledge and the type of investment you will choose so you don't end up regretting why you sold your house to choose bitcoin investment.

it's different when compare it with bitcoin

Don't just look at the growth of bitcoin without taking into account the risks it brings. Your home doesn't increase in value, but at least it's safe for you and real estate is considered the safest asset. For bitcoin, it might give you 3 other houses but could make you homeless in the future.
Don't and absolutely must not do that, invest with money that can be lost and make sure it doesn't affect your family's life.
I say something, if you have a house to stay and live in and if you have another house that you don't use and that you don't want to rent, I would sell and buy the bitcoin because I know that this investment is going to become very large, the bitcoin is at 16 thousand dollars, it could be that it reaches almost 100 thousand dollars and the person earns a lot of money and can buy a better house than the one he sold and a car and everything.

people sometimes do not see the fruit that can be obtained from a good investment, some buy cattle, others invest in the stock market, others put their money in investments that what they do is steal money, but the one who invests in bitcoin is a person who will never lose money.

as the OP wants to sell an abandoned house, it may be better to really buy other profitable investments. but don't go all in with bitcoin. maybe buy other tangible assets like jewelry or other real-estate. curious if the OP will post the update of this undertaking, if he will indeed sell that abandoned house and what comes after next? buying some btc today is a good opportunity if you do believe that in the very near future, its value will increase.

Yes, I think what you said is very right. To sell houses that don’t affect your life, I also think that opportunities in the bear market are very rare. Go to ambush at this trough, and you will make money after the halving. If I have extra houses I will sell and buy BTC without hesitation.

If you think that, your house doesn't get a good profit by rent, then you should wait till January, 2023. If you get a simple profit by rent, than you can buy more btc with the profit of rent. If you don’t get anything, then you can sold it and invest in crypto.

We all here know that investing in bitcoin can bring huge returns but no one here can 100% guarantee it will happen its all just guessing and hoping it does real.

Of course OP could sell that house for investment but what people want him to understand is that the investment is risky and the higher the return the higher the risk and bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick, nor does it guarantee 100% returns, there are still risks with bitcoin.

If you dare to affirm that bitcoin will be 100% profitable in the future, then I think you can also sell all your assets to invest in bitcoin, not just idle assets.

Right. But I also didn't see or find the statement I mentioned if you said that. I think what you're saying is just to remind the OP that making a decision like that won't give you 100% of the profit as planned.
In this context I also convey an important message that selling an unused house to invest in Bitcoin is a good step to take to maintain value and what I want to convey at this opportunity that I do not want to equate Bitcoin with Gold.

Correct! All this time, the OP already had the answer to his question but I cannot really blame him if he took that same question and asked the users here in this forum because chances is that he might come across answers that he haven't thought. It's much better to sell that abandoned house and convert the fiat into bitcoin while we are still in a bear market and the halving is approaching new. That house has no utility anymore and it has been a liability to the OP has I bet he is still paying a tax for that stated house.

Investing in Bitcoin is very crucial when it comes to the present days due to the volatility of the market. Bitcoin is also one of the top investment one can put hope inother to get balance finances. Selling house or liability to invest in Bitcoin is considered risky but if taken preservative risks management, one can earn profits from it. Bagging Bitcoin during the bear also aims to be a very good entry position inother to gain profits.

I don't think selling the house is necessary, there are much better ways to buy bitcoins. I myself never thought of that, for me home is a safe place for us to live. It's true that now is the right time to buy bitcoin at a much cheaper price, maybe it's better to save a little bit of the bitcoin from your payday, allocate 30% of the salary to buy bitcoin, that's much better and doesn't bother the mind .

You need to sell your house if you think that selling your house will give you more profits them do it. We don't know when the market will give more bullish whether now or later. The price of Bitcoin can move to any direction so you need to be ready to take the risks if the market keep going down and takes very long time to go up again. This is the risk we need to be ready to take as the market keep moving.

I thought so. because investing in bitcoin will definitely be risky, because the price is unstable. so to invest bitcoin must use idle money, that is to have peace of mind when investing. but i think what op did is the right thing if op sold his house and the money was used to buy bitcoins. because the house he is going to sell is an displaced house.

I really think that you are the only person, OP, who could say if your decision did you more good than if you do the opposite. It is understandable that you have come to compare the difference of value that properties and bitcoin presents over time, but it is important to note that these two are different in nature. Needless to say, if you think that investing to bitcoin than real estate would give you profit then you are not wrong. It is just a matter of perspective, timing and situation, where in your case, you had a extra house that became the way toward crypto investment. A decision that is indeed worth it.

If bitcoin was of a price near 50,000$, then there was a risk that if you sell the house and bought bitcoin at a such high price and then bitcoin might dump, and you lose your money. However, in the current situation where the bitcoin price is a little over 16,000$, selling the house and buying bitcoin can be a good investment. Bitcoin might dump two or three thousand, but if he can hold the bitcoin, he could easily 5x-6x money when bitcoin will reach nearly 100,000K.

We know that you wont lose nothing if you dont sell.It might be having that negative fiat or usd value but it wont be realized as long you do hold up your position.
We know that this market is truly unpredictable specially with Bitcoin. OP does really mentioned about a house which he owned but it was just an extra or a property that it wasnt been even rented
which means that it could really be potentially be sold out and if you do see that it is worth to take risk on doing that by putting it on bitcoin then it would really be totally depending on your own choice.
Majority of people would be saying that it is really be that risky but things would be considerable basing up on someones risk taking or management.

Actually the value of bitcoin can be double or four times in a short period. It’s the reason of this thread, people with good knowledge about the crypto currency surely take such risk.Actually we can’t blame this as just a risk alone. We can gain four times of investment. With the help of bitcoin, you can buy three house with the same rate.So it’s essential to take risk to achieve in your life.Surely you will win the game with some good passion.Multiplying of the assets is done only by taking risk.

This is too.much a risk to take, how can a man sell his only shelter making himself and family becoming homeless just to buy Bitcoin, this world is a gamble yes and know one know what will turn our fortune around, but then risking a house to buy a highly volatile asset like Bitcoin which does not have a time frame to when and how the price will act in the future is not a risk to take as a man.

I advise you only buy Bitcoin with the funds you can afford to look away from for life without demand, that way you will have the motivation to hold for as long as possible.

Bitcoin is still a risky investment, and you don’t hold any assurance that you will gained huge profits from it or you might end up just like others buying at a high price and selling at a low price. My point is do not compromise your house in exchange for your bitcoin expected profits because that is still not 100% sure that it will happen. If you want, you can buy a portion of bitcoin with the amount you are not afraid to lose. At least, once you lose that, you still have that house in your own possession.

It doesnt really give out assurance but there are people whom do really like or love to play with fire or simply with risk.If you do see that it is worth then so be it but if not then
i would rather let that house to monetize for me and rent it out into someone to have atleast some money in every month but since its mentioned that it was
that abandoned and havent been used then its not really a bad option for you to take on selling it and putting those funds on bitcoin but of course
you should really be that mindful when it comes to risk involved.

An abandoned house doesn't give you cash flow, you are also paying taxes. If you think BTC can give you more profit since it seems you have already witnessed how it grew during the past halving then invest. However, I am sure that you are aware of the risk of investing in crypto since it is volatile, there's no guarantee that the same growth in BTC price will happen in the next halving. Just invest and don't expect too much.

I'd do that if I had a spare house and especially if I had some unused money.

High inflation makes holding money pointless and a property that doesn't grow in value is just as pointless.

A house has to be maintained or it will rot, become moldy, the garden will overgrow. You either live there, rent it out or sell it.

Taking no risk is one of the biggest risk in life, but take risk with caution. Bitcoin is best and reliable coin in the all world but still we don't invest our life savings on it. Actually I don't know the worth of the properties, selling the  two houses and invest in Bitcoin is good but I advise you to invest money of one house then the other one in another business as backup for bitcoin investment.

because in my own calculations, my house value didn't increase in date year by year. the value is still stagnan, it's different when compare it with bitcoin, I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

You're focusing too much on bitcoin's potential for growth without ever researching or even seeing for yourself the amount of risks that it entails. Although you did mention you still have a spare residence to live for whenever things go south, it is still an unwise decision to make for most people. Altogether, what I would highly suggest you make sure before jumping to any venture, it doesn't have to necessarily be bitcoin, is that you must always make sure you don't invest anything you can't afford to lose. People in this industry lose their lives because of simple mistakes like these, some even take out a loan that they can't easily pay to invest in crypto, such an unwise thing to do.

The thing is, I have heard some people on the past saying if they could go back in time
to 2010, 2011 and 2012 they would have sold everything and bought Bitcoin.

Let's face it, we all know Bitcoin is only going up in the medium to long term so
what is the problem with doing NOW what many people will be regretting they
did when Bitcoin hits $160k and more?
and besides it seems that he is losing nothing big here because the houses he should be selling are abandoned and maybe with cheaper value if to be sold for money so if bitcoin maybe he can use as investment for long term holding because that abandoned house seems to be doing the same as long term with no income at all.

Quote
Bitcoin can provide greater returns than any investment, but its risks are also not small.
lottery tickets can provide even greater return , risks are also not small but the results are almost immediate .

You said this very well Sir, I can only add that apart from the high risk that we can face if we allocate a high investment amount for Bitcoin, and if we allocate only a small amount for it we will hold it for a long time, of course, your Bitcoin income will be based on the capital you have allocated.
In addition to that, investing in bitcoin for me is only good to do in the long term if you also buy a large amount of it, or if you want to save it, it's good to train yourself to save bitcoin little by little every week which will end in a wallet that is safe for you.

Selling your house for Bitcoin seems like a pretty risky thing to do. I guess it’s a high risk high reward scenario depending on how long your time horizon is for holding the BTC. The timing is right for such a move to pay off big, but it would also be really embarrassing to lose your house over some magic internet money. I definitely wouldn’t go investing in whatever the latest altcoin fad is with your funds.

You are capable of doing so. Diversifying your portfolio, on the other hand, is a good idea. When purchasing bitcoin, you should also consider purchasing altcoins.

As I understand it, the one house, since it is an abandoned one, is a liability(at the moment) that is decreasing in value. I recommend turning it into an asset, throwing some money into it and trying to rent it or increase its selling value. Since you already have invested, having an asset that is less susceptible to inflation is what I would prefer. I am highly against all in's (in most cases😉) diversification is a high priority, but please let me know where you disagree or agree with me.

Yes, the abandoned house is already a liability and not an asset because the OP also provided that its value hasn't increase in the past few years. In the long run, the OP will lose more money because the tax is not cheap anymore and it's not worth it to hold the property as its value is not that changing as well. Selling it and investing in bitcoin is a much better idea, it might be risky, but bitcoin has proven numerous times already that it's really worth it to invest on it.

If I were the OP, I won't waste any time anymore on keeping the property because it won't give me any income at all especially if the OP doesn't have any capital to invest on the property to renovate it and put it on the website so that people can rent it if they want to, like Airbnb style.

As many people have said this is quite high risk and not a good way to do it, if he for example holds bitcoin for a long time (5-years) it is possible to get high rewards from holding it but along the way it will not be smooth sailing for ordinary people always impatient, they want reason, if the market is bearish for a long time, it can affect their mentality, what you need to do is with the scenario that has been designed, what about the consequences later, and it's better to think again, but by buying bitcoin, it's better slowly but he can execute in his strategy.

Obviously this is something that must be avoided, never jump into new altcoins or other old altcoins. This is not a good prospect, but avoid altcoins even if they are lured by hype or high percentages.

You need to be very sure of what you are doing. Don't think selling your house to invest in bitcoin will double in value of the amount you sold it for, before you need to proceed to sell your house to invest bitcoin you have to understand that investing won't make you get quick profit the way you may be think. You planning to sell your to invest it must be a longterm investment for you to get good profits.  If you you think people invest bitcoin to get rich and that's want to make you to sell your house , I think you are taking risk.

As long as the OP is ready to lose his house, then that's pretty fine. We should take risks in order to profit, but the question was: are you willing to take risks, and if so, are you willing to lose money? If you have any doubts, this is the time to conduct research to determine whether it is truly worthwhile to sell your home and buy bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is not the same as business in that you have control over your money or how your cash flows in business; in bitcoin, you can only stop your loss when you sell your bitcoin at a low price.

If you want to sell your house to buy bitcoin and want to invest in bitcoin, you are definitely taking a very high risk, because waiting for bitcoin prices to soar is very long and even takes years, and even then we are not sure that we will get a commensurate profit, even though you have two houses you should not sell your house, for fear that you will be disappointed, because we know that land and houses are a very valuable turnover, because land and house prices are increasing as time goes by, if you want to buy bitcoin you should just rent your house for 5 years, maybe it's better than you sell your house.

Very risky, but if you're willing to be homeless while waiting for the bullrun, then go for it, or you're lucky if one of your relatives or friends is willing to take you in while you're waiting for the right time to sell your Bitcoin. Especially right now that we're in the bearish market, you will be surely a homeless person. Risking is a good thing but make sure you have a backup plan, not just selling your house and buy bitcoin using that money.

obviously very risky, if the assets to be sold for exchange are the main assets, which are currently being used. I don't expect it to be a major asset, if it does happen it's possible that what you said might be experienced by the op, but I don't expect it.
currently still in a bearish market, which is still too long to bullrun, and that will probably happen at the next halving as well not next year.
you can be sure that keeping bitcoins is very profitable, but if you do an exchange of assets, of course you need to weigh the advantages and disadvantages as best as possible, it would be wiser for the assets to be exchanged, of course, not to be the main assets being used.

Well, you have a 2nd home that you can stay with aside from the one that you want to sell. I guess there is no problem doing that thing. Selling a house that depreciates its value and a liability as well (unless it is used for renting purposes) and buying an asset like Bitcoin is a nice move...I guess.

Just know the risks of it. We are still in a bear market so expect the unexpected. Always expect that there is a chance that Bitcoin might go down even lower from its current price. Some are saying that what happened in 2022 will continue in 2023. Take note as well that this will take time for you to take profit and there is a chance that what you're thinking might not happen as well. A risky move but the rewards are high when the bull run comes. You got a second home so I guess it will not hurt you that much if you will sell your first house as long as you're comfortable with your 2nd home and it got it all that will help you to live.

No, he's not going to be homeless, he's talking about selling an abandoned house he doesn't use. Yes it is risky to sell such a large asset to invest in bitcoin but if it is an idle asset I think it will not be too serious. As long as he is willing to take the risk then he can invest because there is no 100% guarantee that bitcoin investment will bring us profit.

Can't guarantee when investing in Bitcoin always profitable and price increase up years by years, we can track with this year Bitcoin price drop drastically after in 2021 ever reached and make all time high price until above $60,000. Seems OP need think clearly about risk waiting for when selling his second house and used it to invest with Bitcoin, not always earn profitable although many promising people said excited when investing in Bitcoin, moment Bitcoin drop drastically until $17,000 from highest price on $60,000 become experienced for OP if serious want to sell house for Bitcoin.

You can not be ignorant of the fact that Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. I believe you must have been following up with the trends on Bitcoin price and how it goes. Comparing both, Bitcoin is worth the investment but if you would ask me, I would say to you it is worth it but do you have the patience to wait for the next bullrun. Fine you have the two houses which according to you the worth is stagnant against your expectations of price increase. I know you never expected it to be this stagnant for too long as it is sure investment that should be rocking in more cash and increase in value but it's unfortunate that you fail to understand it that way. You see this slogan  "invest in what you know you can afford to loose" is still applicable .
Well it is still the bear market you know what to do. Do your own research .

op said he is going to sell one of his houses that he doesn't use to live in . Maybe it will be a redundant abandoned house.  But it's a physical asset whose value may not skyrocket as quickly as Bitcoin, but it doesn't have the fear of losing money. But according to op's story what he is going to do is very risky.  Although everyone has their own freedom of will.  And he owns that asset so he can prioritize his will if he is willing to take the risk

What a sarcastic statement, very short but powerful, because ops need to take a chill pills to relax his brain in other to avoid making some careless mistake, how can he sell his house to buy Bitcoin and from what ops is saying he is looking at a short term investment timeframe which is not realistic.
Even though he mentioned that the house is secondary, that does not warrant him taking such a risk.
Bitcoin investment is best enjoyed with spear money that one can lock away for some years.

maybe the OP is a beginner who wants to get rich from investing in bitcoin. like other beginners who are willing to sell something to buy bitcoin.
he thought that if he invested in bitcoin using the money from selling the house there would be more in the next year without thinking about the risks he had to bear and some depression when he panicked to see bitcoin going down.
Most beginners, of course, always hope that investing in crypto, especially bitcoin, is always profitable quickly, even though it's not that easy
