Title: Still think bitcoin is coming to an end? Then you must read this <3
Post by: Flexystar on November 20, 2022, 06:32:15 PM
Lately, there seems lot of fearful reactions from the people about Bitcoin and how it could come to an end considering the current bear market. Literally media is taking it too seriously and showing the bitcoin as villain of the movie that too without any facts.
If to date, any media really wants to understand in which direction the bitcoin is moving then they should really travel the world and understand how bitcoin is getting "percolated" in the world's tiniest systems and flourishing everywhere.

"My sole point of creating this thread is to send out positive vibe amongst the forum members, not to worry about the market situation because the picture is far bigger than what we think."

Starting with, Who accepts bitcoin? we can actually see the bitcoin's real use case and how it is already on the market just like other assets/currencies.

Cities & Countries with interest (but not limited to . . )
So I came across one article from investopedia, where they have mentioned how bitcoin is getting from door to door, from city to city and we are able to see its physical presence whether via ATM's or Merchants accepting the same.

https://i.ibb.co/4TzCSm7/Screenshot-2022-06-29-at-6-14-11-PM.png

  • San Francisco - There are 437 bitcoin ATMs in the Bay Area, including 65 in the city of San Francisco itself
  • Vancouver - the world's first bitcoin ATM began operations at Waves Coffee House on October 29, 2013, in downtown Vancouver. 50+ merchants and 221 bitcoin friendly locations.
  • Amsterdam - Amsterdam is home to mining hardware maker Bitfury and the European headquarters of payment service provider BitPay. More than half dozen Bitcoin ATM, 40+ merchants
  • Ljubljana, Slovenia - Ljubljana has eleven bitcoin ATMs in the city and surrounding areas, and roughly 200 merchants who say they accept bitcoin
  • Tel Aviv - Nineteen merchants accepting bitcoin and seven bitcoin ATMs
  • Portsmouth, New Hampshire - Dubbed "bitcoin village" by local residents, the downtown area is home to about a dozen crypto-friendly businesses, including the Seacoast Repertory Theatre and the Free State Bitcoin Shoppe. It has 21+ Bitcoin ATM's
  • Miami, Florida - 651 bitcoin ATMs and tellers. The city's government is seeking to attract blockchain businesses to their city, and Mayor Francis Suarez has proposed investing city funds in bitcoin and even launching a municipal cryptocurrency.
  • El Zonte, El Salvador - "Bitcoin Beach," with more than thousands Bitcoin ATM. Government directly involved with bitcoin adoption itself.
  • New York - New York is also a major hub for crypto startups and media companies, such as CoinDesk, Decrypt, and CoinTelegraph, as well as home to Consensus, one of the largest annual events in the crypto industry.
  • London - 50 bitcoin ATMs, and about the same number of merchants

I am not just making a list here by grabbing it from here and there but these are actual results of bitcoin in use. If people still gonna argue about bitcoin's prices, its trust based on some failed exchange or few bad set backs then I think they have not understood the bitcoin really well.

Bitcoin can still be used on mega level with no price in consideration. The price will automatically follow Bitcoin once the use keep growing all the time. The price manipulation that we are seeing in the market is due to it's use just as trading instrument where millionaire and billionaires are taking it too personally and trading the volume in shorting the market.

We are still at good terms if see the data above. Moreover, if we see the most recent data then actual figures are really different, and could actually let us know exact bitcoin adoption.

Community, go ahead and make some positive noise on this thread. Post your local region stories and show them we are strong and we are getting stronger day by day in bitcoin adoption.

I think your companies list is a little outdated. I believe both Steam, and Wikipedia suspended Bitcoin payments years ago. There's probably others on that list that have pulled support for it. The thing is, we aren't quite at the stage where it makes sense for all companies to adopt it. Since, the volatility creates an additional problem for many businesses, and then it's the cost of implementing a system to accept Bitcoin as well as hire staff that have the knowledge to help with any Bitcoin related issues.

It's not a bad thing that we aren't quite there yet. We probably won't be there for a while. As long as we have volatility, we'll have the news having a melt down, and companies pulling support or just not adopting it in the first place.

If people still gonna argue about bitcoin's prices, its trust based on some failed exchange or few bad set backs then I think they have not understood the bitcoin really well.
If they do not understand Bitcoin very well, then it's safer they do not invest in it at all. Creating a list to show the strength of Bitcoin is good, but anyone who cannot do a basic research to find out how the network operates and maybe zoom out of the chart to see previous oricae actions and reasons for them does not deserve to buy in at discounted prices.
They would be back in a few months or years when the market is bulling and fomo in.

The price manipulation that we are seeing in the market is due to it's use just as trading instrument where millionaire and billionaires are taking it too personally and trading the volume in shorting the market.
Price actions are most likely not the result of market manipulation. It's a volatile commodity, so its value would remain speculative, at least for a few years.

Bitcoin has died many times so it's not new if people are thinking that Bitcoin will end or it will just die then look at those shops and websites that accept bitcoin and local shops same here in my area there are some shops right now that accept Bitcoin as payment through scanning QR code.

So those people who are thinking that Bitcoin will die again are newbies and don't know the history of Bitcoin. And sooner more companies and local apps in my country add Bitcoin as another payment option.

Bitcoin is growing and it's normal to see ups and down but every block halving the price of bitcoin is different and it is higher than the price every last block halving.

It matters less which companies accept bitcoin; what matters more is how much payment volume Bitcoin payments are getting. Companies can easily revoke access to Bitcoin payments.

I certainly don’t think bitcoin is coming to any ends. Sure there is a shit ton of turmoil going on right now in both bitcoin and the cryptocurrency landscape, but we are still in the “early innings” when it comes to cryptocurrency adoption. We’ve got a long ways to go before ANYTHING is decided.  One thing I’m sure of, while one of few, is that bitcoin is anything but dead.

Sure some of them might be outdated but it does suggest bitcoin isn't just something that non liked ever OR not gonna like again in the future!
Though not all in the list but the weightage of acceptance is still higher as compared to other types of assets.

The whole point is bitcoin literally gone far in very short period of time and such bearish trends will come and go. We have experienced this all the time and this is a message for the people who are always scared about the market downfall and think it's dead end. Specifically media!

Yes it is going to play biggest innings yet. If you look at the old analysis then "Bitcoin is Dead" has been used more than 400 times until now. Like it was literally proclaimed by people and various media and that is the thing we do not want from us.

Now I know that we are on the forum where most of us "Trust in the Bitcoin", however, for those who think Bitcoin is dead then do read following article and also checkout the analysis about how many times it was dead and yet we are using it. Lol.z

Summary
FTX is dead. Crypto is not. Don't confuse the two. Reports of Bitcoin's death have been greatly exaggerated.
Search interest in "Bitcoin is Dead" has spiked following the collapse of FTX. History tells us we're close to a bottom.
On-chain metrics look phenomenal. Non-zero addresses are approaching 44 million and exchange supply is at a two year low.

There will be certain percentage of population who will always be in the wrong circle that whenever we see little dumps or even correction in the market they will simply come to a point declaring it dead without even noticing the points you have mentioned above. But according to me we don't need to convince these people that bitcoin has the potential as it speaks for itself but if they have the vision to see it otherwise enjoy their shitcoins journey.

Anyone can post a sticker on their business window, saying "Bitcoin accepted here" ....but the question is : Is there anyone actually paying for those goods and services with bitcoins?

I have seen several instances where businesses "tested" the market for "Bitcoin" as a currency ...and it failed, due to a lack of transactions being done with bitcoins. People do not want to spend their bitcoins, they want to hoard it, until they can make a huge profit.  ::)

The issue is that people are used to pay with fiat money and they will not change their behavior if there is no benefit in changing it. IF you look in 3rd world countries you can see a much larger adoption of paying with crypto, since there are many problems with the currency like inflation and unprofessional banking systems.

Can you mention which third world countries that has a larger adoption paying with Bitcoin except Nigeria? I really interested to hear that since I know there's no any third country using Bitcoin to pay for daily needs even though their fiat is highly inflated. Their problem isn't because their currency only, but they don't earn enough money to fill their daily life, how they can buy Bitcoin?

Yeah most people treat Bitcoin as investment, not as currency. Moreover most people still think people who have Bitcoin is a billionaire and they will rob you to get your coins, they can just use $5 wrench attack.

It is not true that most people in Africa don't have enough money to buy food and other basic things. This is just a stupid stereotype and a little bit silly to assume a whole continent has no middle or upper class of people. However I don't have the numbers where bitcoin is actually used, but you can read articles like this: https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/09/29/crypto-is-quietly-thriving-in-sub-saharan-africa-chainalysis-report/ or speak to people form Africa and you will find out that bitcoin is more present than in Europe or elsewhere.

Bitcoin adoption is always on my mind, if only the country where I live adopts Bitcoin.
but apparently it's not that easy, instilling something new in people is not easy.
there are always pros and cons, there are always disagreements.

especially now, many media reports that bitcoin and other crypto will become extinct, it becomes a great pressure and influence on bitcoin.

with a long struggle, bitcoin will not become extinct that easily.

As far as we all know that bitcoin is a global currency and is decentralized and the rate which its adoption has increased all around the world economy is as a speeding train which is ready to at the same time accommodate room for any interesting occupant, there are a number of companies, institutions, organizations and online shops where we can use bitcoin to buy and exchange good or services with, it is a legal thing to make transactions in bitcoin except for few countries that lay this embargo but they are quite away of the role bitcoin cwn play through decentralization.

Starting with, Who accepts bitcoin? we can actually see the bitcoin's real use case and how it is already on the market just like other assets/currencies.

Major Companies:

  • Burger King
  • KFC
  • Subway
  • Pizza Hut

So you're telling me I can walk in any of the above 4 food chain restaurants and I can pay with bitcoin?
For Burgerking it was one of their franchise in Germany that made the headlines and nothing else.
KFC was briefly accepting crypto and only fo a limited period and only in Canada.
Subway is trialing Bitcoin payments at three Subways in Germany’s capital, Berlin.  (https://cointelegraph.com/news/subway-accepts-bitcoin-so-users-can-get-a-sandwich-on-the-lightning-network)
Pizza hut tried this in Venezuela (https://www.coindesk.com/business/2020/11/30/pizza-hut-venezuela-now-accepts-crypto-payments/).

Besides this I see the BMW sign there, no BMW is not accepting BTC random dealerships in the world accept BTC.

If the list would have been really accurate and with all the companies accepting BTC in all the shops we wouldn't the at all here right now, fearing some CEX demise would bring the price back to 10k levels.
Also, just lol at classifying The Private Bay and 4 Chan as "major" companies while Rakuten as small or medium when it's bigger than Pizza Hut.

Anyone can post a sticker on their business window, saying "Bitcoin accepted here" ....but the question is : Is there anyone actually paying for those goods and services with bitcoins?

Which reminds me of :

I think this needs correction. Wikipedia has stopped accepting the crpyto donation. I am sure many other company listed here are not correct too. No hate to Bitcoin. The price drop is a distraction, Bitcoin is working exactly as it was designed to work and will never end. Probably this bearish time is good opportunity for new one to invest.[/list]

Not the circles but rather your mindset as an investor. No matter how negative the point of view of the people around you towards your investment, decision will be depending on you alone. In the first place this is an industry filled with very volatile assets, from that you should already know the risks involved from engaging so. There are unexpected events that may affect your profit and losses simoly because cryptocurrencies' market value solely depends on the demand created by the community. If you percieve this industry as something which will yield to losses, then feel free to leave; save yourself from worries.

I stopped using this as an argument pro Bitcoin a long time ago, because I realized it is not a good pro argument since even the largest companies seem to feel confused about Bitcoin's existence and decide to keep flipping the Bitcoin acceptance switch every now and then.  Some of the names mentioned in OP are not valid anymore.  Microsoft has definitely stopped accepting Bitcoin a long time ago.  It would give a very bad look to the average user if you told them Microsoft accepts Bitcoin and they find out Microsoft decided to stop doing so a while ago.

I think Bitcoin is very successful as is and will continue to thrive for much more important reasons than KFC accepting it.  It is Decentralized, provides banking to the unbanked, gives the financial freedom you want and no authority is capable of enforcing power over the network.  If you think about it, all of these are aspects that make Bitcoin rise and shine all the time.

That list will always change. The companies can easily remove and apply them. I'll not make a measure of whether bitcoin is accepted or not with that list, especially since bitcoin is still tucked in as an alternative payment. And AFAIK, there hasn't been a company that has taken a challenge to accept bitcoins without accepting fiat (to pay for their goods/services).

I agree that list will change but now more than ever no one thinks Bitcoin will come to an end. Many countries are considering to make mining legal in them,a list of countries who have just express this desire and not putting it into legislation is enough of a reason for me why Bitcoin will never come to an end because it is desire right now but most likely it can be translated to law in the not so distant future.

Companies the more they are that accept Bitcoin the better but what makes a difference is when it is adopted at a wide scale like nations with El Salvador leading the way.

The media are flexible, when we're in the bull run you'll see them tell good things about the market and the crazy predictions that have been told by those unknown people that they're highlighting as someone as if they're an expert in the field. But, the people that they're quoting and giving exposure is truly an unknown person. But when we're in the bear market, you'll also see them tell those very low predictions that have been given, so, they're always at the two sides of the market. That's why don't depend your emotion to them.

IF you look in 3rd world countries you can see a much larger adoption of paying with crypto, since there are many problems with the currency like inflation and unprofessional banking systems.

Bitcoin has a lot of benefits that can assist citizens in most third world nations to carryout safe and cheap financial transactions. But the main problem is that most of them are not aware of these benefits. That's why Bitcoin education is the most important tool to get more users or investors in the Bitcoin space. Most people are using fiat because they don't have access to banking facilities and Bitcoin could fill the gab created by non-existence of banking services in these areas.

Can you mention which third world countries that has a larger adoption paying with Bitcoin except Nigeria? Nigerians might be the biggest market of Bitcoin currently in Africa but it is also important to note that citizens of other African countries are embracing Bitcoin. And the belief that Africans are not buying Bitcoin because they are poor might not be the whole truth. Some rural farmers are richer than some business executives in cities. Africans might have a very high population of poor people but the continent still has a high number of persons that can buy Bitcoin if they know the benefits.

"My sole point of creating this thread is to send out positive vibe amongst the forum members, not to worry about the market situation because the picture is far bigger than what we think."

I have nothing against positive news, and I think it is good to give people a little encouragement at a time when the ship seems to be sinking and there is no escape. In fact, this situation is nothing new in the sense that the price of BTC is so low compared to the last ATH, only the main players in the whole story have changed.

Also, the real problem is not how many merchants support Bitcoin as a means of payment, but that most of those who have invested in it have no intention of using it as a currency. As for my contribution, here's where you can spend your Bitcoin online -> https://spending-bitcoin.com/

Ahh yes, that's what I am wishing here. Re-encourage our souls to go to higher dimensions and make sure we keep up with the time. Any collateral damage to the bitcoin economy (or crypto itself) could set us behind a lot. Considering various governments not promoting it in positive ways it's always good we ourselves make it happen.

Oh yes, I saw this tool as well. Pretty good one to hit the right place to make purchases over internet via bitcoin. We can buy any sort of category using this tool actually. It's no biggie, they will just divert to the most closest search results of websites who use bitcoin as payment mode and can have our desired products listed on them.

Sort of nice contribution and everyone should keep up the same motivation. Thanks a lot.

Bitcoin has been considered a lot of times being dead but definitely not coming to the real end. I guess the people have only been thinking about bitcoin coming to it’s near end because the market is very doom. For me, the scenarios we are seeing today are just part of the yearly cycle, it’s just that the bear season stays longer than the bullish one. So let’s not put bitcoin being in the dead end. Bitcoin dominates the whole crypto coins in the market, so there is no way that it’s going to be obsolete.

Thank you for the good effort in writing the topic, also thanks for the positive charge that you are trying to broadcast in the Bitcoin community, but I believe that whoever actually believes in Bitcoin does not need all this, I believe that everything that is happening in this bear market is only a temporary condition and that The future will definitely be in Bitcoin. Whoever believes in Bitcoin not only believes that the price hike and bull market will return soon, but also believes that in the future Bitcoin will be the main payment method accepted around the world and also believes that there will come a day when it will replace fiat money.

I'll be the devil's advocate and argue that acceptance is nice but it doesn't change the fact that people who were dumb got destroyed this year. If this was a planned event, which I believe it was, the execution was almost perfect. They were stealing people's crypto for years and nobody knew. They were making interviews with this thief and meanwhile he was having sex parties with his fellow nerd accomplices. What about the bitcoin proof of keys event? So many people forgot about it until it was too late for them.

Bitcoin isn't coming to an end but institutional investment might be, which means no ATH for a few years. If that's what you're here for, take a break and come back in 2024. Maybe we'll be out of bear market by then.

When you are looking at the technology or bitcoin the one that stand out this currency is not something that is coming to an end because it will always increase and always fall since its introduction to the world so I believe that whatever thing that is happening in the market will recover soon so whoever that is saying about Bitcoin have collapse or is coming to an end I think that is a false information exactly concerning Bitcoin

But, the people that they're quoting and giving exposure is truly an unknown person. But when we're in the bear market, you'll also see them tell those very low predictions that have been given, so, they're always at the two sides of the market. That's why don't depend your emotion to them.
People are just showing their market sentiments. When the market is bullish, people will always praise bitcoin and the rest of the potential coins. When the market is bearish, people will also develop fear and eventually panic thinking that their investments will not recover anymore. But not all we see and hear from the media are true and reliable. Sometimes, we have to make our own analysis so that we will not fall into false beliefs.

In one way or another, giving some encouragement to all crypto investors especially when the market is down is not that bad. People need to hear that so that they will not resort into panicking and eventually sell their coins without reasonable thinking. And that they will continue to value their investments despite of the bearish market that is happening today.

I am not just making a list here by grabbing it from here and there but these are actual results of bitcoin in use. If people still gonna argue about bitcoin's prices, its trust based on some failed exchange or few bad set backs then I think they have not understood the bitcoin really well.
It's pointless to talk to someone when he started to talk about failed exchanges, the fiasco of FTX, and other hacks. Those unbelievers and not investors of bitcoin will always find a fault and way to discuss those negative things that have happened. But when you try to defend it, they'll just push you harder and it's not a reason to trust it even if the market recovers. They're blind to looking at the achievements and good things like adoption from various known companies because they have chosen to be blind and not to look at the bright side of having bitcoin.

At least holding back also contributes that you believe in Bitcoin. Although the level may be different. Sometimes I am sad because the jurisdiction in my country actually prohibits crypto from being used as a means of transaction, so they legalize it as an asset. So I have never used crypto or bitcoin for transactions directly. Although if I see a lot of my friends who buy tools from abroad like Trezor can use Bitcoin. There was a hesitation to do that because I had never been at all.

Using it to purchase also contribute to Bitcoin economy, but well he is just smart to hold back because he believe that Bitcoin will increase in price in the future.

At least your country consider it as an asset and doesn't ban it.  You are still lucky than those people who live in a country that see Bitcoin as illegal.  Using Bitcoin directly is quite easy. There are lots of store that accept Bitcoin.  Though I understand the hesitation because we never know if the company is legit or not and since we need to be the first one to pay, there is a huge possibility of being scammed when the company isn't legit.

I'm not saying Bitcoin will end. I'm just responding because the list is used as a measure of that Bitcoin has been widely accepted in various companies large and small. Though that can not be used as a measure for now, because it will not be stable.

I am not convinced that Bitcoin will end, but I am concerned that more drama will occur that will have a significant impact on Bitcoin or the crypto market. Many companies accept Bitcoin, but there is a lot of bad news. Luna and FTX are two people who are destroying the market. It's just one example; there are many more who are destroying it for their own financial benefit. But those of us who believe in crypto should not be concerned. It's already bear season, so bad news is to be expected. When the bull run begins, we may see plenty of positive news that accelerates Bitcoin to new heights.

This kind of post helps me convince that Bitcoin isn't going anywhere. Though I agree there are too many people saying it's the END of Bitcoin. Their belief is that once Bitcoin's bottom is reached, the market will turn bullish 180 degrees. I think we're nearing the bottom. Could regulation be the key to attracting investors?

it is not a mistake instead that is literally according to the plans , Bitcoin is going somewhere mate and that is to grow better and serve people of the world, it may take time but once it happens surely we will see how much this can help the universe .

Bitcoin ends coming from those losers that does not gain anything from this , but those like us that knows how this market moves? we will never listen to those bad statement.

We can't say we are reaching bottom as we can't decide it because any unexpected hit to the market could blow away your belief about bottom. But if you are bitcoin holder for long term or have seen the past conditions then you would see how profitable it could be in the future.Ignore all the negativity around you about Bitcoin and keep on investing at these times where you can gather more btc at cheap rates.

That is really amazing, yet most of us had considered Bitcoin as an investment which makes me think that people are still preferred to use fiat over Bitcoin. I'm going to say that because, in myself, I can't do it. The losers try to manipulate the market to make it look like bitcoin is useless, but the plan is of course not going to work because the bitcoin community is invincible. Trust in bitcoin is increasing of course. Adoption continues, albeit slowly.

As explained in detail by the OP, the adoption by many companies even though they are not fully using bitcoin, but is already a good thing and it is progress.
The idea that bitcoin will die is only for those who are late to buy bitcoin and don't get bitcoin cheaply. Bitcoin will reach a new ATH when the market recovers.

The media focus on what 'sells' best (what can bring money eventually because of being viewed, shared, discussed more), and negative emotions do just that. Neutral content is forgettable, cheerful content has to be particularly good to make it work, and something that invokes fear and uncertainty is more likely to stick in people's minds and be treated as important. That's why they overplay the Bitcoin bear market thing, milking for FUD.

Community, go ahead and make some positive noise on this thread. Post your local region stories and show them we are strong and we are getting stronger day by day in bitcoin adoption.

Alright, then. Ukraine has been sort of crypto-friendly for years, but major adoption events happened during and because of the war. United24 (https://u24.gov.ua/) is the official initiative of president Zelensky, and they accept donations in several cryptos (including Bitcoin), albeit via a payment system). Come Back Alive (https://savelife.in.ua/en/donate-en/#donate-army-crypto), the biggest non-governmental foundation that supports the Ukrainian army accepts crypto donations as well, this time directly to BTC, ETH, USDT, SOL addresses. And it's not just nominal acceptance of cryptos; we can see that people actually make significant donations in cryptos. For example, Come Back Alive received a total of 570 BTC, which is worth $9 million, even with the current pricing.

Technically, Bitcoin is 13 years old now and anyone that's into the media and said he/she won't understand that the Bitcoin market has its winter season is definitely lying but the media are known for spreading missing information about BTC just to manipulate the market for their own selfish purpose since they have missed the early adoption of BTC through their ignorant.
Therefore, anyone that believes what the media said without adequate research is still naive about the crypto market.

It matters less which companies accept bitcoin; what matters more is how much payment volume Bitcoin payments are getting. Companies can easily revoke access to Bitcoin payments.

We can easily say how popular bitcoins are just by seeing the marketcap of the coin. Moreover also see the trading volume and then decide what is Bitcoins capable of. The ones who are panic selling their Bitcoins are new to this crypto world. They don’t know how the crypto ecosystem works and hence facing huge losses. This is the time where we need to work smart rather than panicking. But as we can see people are more dumb and careless, so no one can stop them from making losses. Just don’t sell these valuable Bitcoins at any cost.

The solution you provided is not really tally with your topical sentence. Whether you like or not people must talk about people both the bear market or the bull market. Prediction is part of the market so those who understands the market do not even afraid of the market because definitely they know that the market will rise again so they are not afraid of the market.
Therefore, this bear market is not and will never be the last bus stop of BTC.

Bitcoin should not end soon, even though many people who don't like bitcoin say so. But to talk about bitcoin, it depends on the situation around us because we also have to see how they can accept new things that they really don't understand. It may take time to introduce bitcoin to our surroundings and even though many other countries already know it, it is not certain that people will accept bitcoin in our environment. We could get some friends to learn more about bitcoin so there won't be any fear that bitcoin is something they should stay away from.

But I will not argue with other people about the price of bitcoin because we all have our own analysis, which will be different. And we should focus on ourselves first and let other people try to analyze bitcoin price movements.

Never mind, those brands can't use a single rule to adopt bitcoin in all their branches of law in different countries. Some of those who have sparked the adoption of even the Twitter tip bitcoin plan have not had much impact on the price.

In fact I believe more that the use of bitcoin is more for local transactions at this time (eg to buy used goods).

If an investment gives you a few thousand percent returns, but if you don't use it, it won't give you anything either. That's so true and that is because many in the media can be paid to do some good reviews for projects. As you can remember, there were celebrities that has been sued due to advertising fraud projects. The same thing can happen to misleading articles and content being done by the media.
They're not just being focused for now but whenever the bull run is back, there will be swarm of it in the market that they're going to publish that's looking nonstop.

I would say that I was just practical at this time since Bitcoin isn't widely accepted in our place meaning that it was wise and profitable to make this as an investment. Only if it happens that there is a store that will accept Bitcoin near to me, of course, I'd love to try it and see how they process payment, but unfortunately, nothing. Just like the others, they preferred to trade rather than make use of this as a currency and we can't deny that the majority are here for that reason.

I don't understand why people are so worked up by the fact that the media are pronouncing Bitcoin as dead again, if you have been in the market for sometime now (for atleast two bear market) then you would had understood that this is a regular occurrence whenever there's a bear market. The media sponsored by the government always looks for a way to discourage people from investing in Bitcoin as the more they do, the further they lose control over their citizens and a government without country is powerless.
Don't just invest in any opportunity because everyone is doing so instead study and understand what that opportunity is all about because if you understand how Bitcoin was built and works then you'll be assured of Bitcoin price rising again when we're in the bull market.

If talking about the present then you are right because we are all here for profit and not here using the new bitcoin technology. The majority will not accept this statement but it is true, I guess up to 95% that come to the market is for profit. Even if bitcoin is widely accepted nowadays, I believe very few people will use their bitcoin for payment, if yes then it's just some real experience and then they keep holding their bitcoins.
Honestly, I also don't want to use my bitcoin for daily payments especially during bear season but I will use it if bitcoin hits $100k someday.

The amount in North America shocked me. I believe that there is a big advantage for Asia considering they are like 50% of the whole world population, and it’s understandable for Australia to have very little because they are very small in population. But, Canada+Usa should combine be like at 100+ million already if you ask me, the population combined is about 500+ million as far as I remember, which means that 100+ million would only be 20% or less, and that should be quite possible.

Even Africa has less than them, which is weird, and considering USA and Canada (and Mexico to a point) is richer than most those nations, they would be increasing the price like hell if it was 100+ million people.

I am from Bangladesh and many may know that BTC or other cryptocurrencies are not legal here. It is in between legal and illegal. Mustafa Jabbar Zunaid Ahmed Palak (The Minister of State from Bangladesh Telecommunications and Information Technology), have given a statement few years back. Owning crypto is not legal here. You can sell them on P2P platform or trade them for local currency (TK). As for using it as a direct payment method will be deemed as an illegal act.
You are not to be found using crypto/BTC to do terrorist acts. If found, you will be punished accordingly.
So as far as you own it and use it for yourself, then you are ok here.
This is a huge step from Bangladesh, because it's a Third World country and if the government agrees to adapt to BTC and legalize it, then many things will change.
Hope that this will happen soon.

Just like the others, they preferred to trade rather than make use of this as a currency and we can't deny that the majority are here for that reason.

The majority of people are interested in bitcoin for investment purposes. I would agree with that because bitcoin can help you financially, but you will also gain knowledge about finance and bitcoin. Here in our country, we already have stores (not many) that accept bitcoin as payment. We also have a wallet, and there are stores that accept payments from that wallet, including bitcoin. No matter what our purpose is or why we are here in bitcoin, let's just respect each other.

The market have grown but what if most btc invested only came from the same people? I know btc is popular now but there are still many countries who don't have access with bitcoins because it is banned there. There are countries where btc is not ban but people they are clueless if what is btc is.

Lastly there are people who knew what btc is but still scared of using it because they think it was a scam, too risky, and any other reasons. Although this is what @mk4 is trying to say. Volume is what matter the most not quantity. I guess it was still a good thing but for me, I also like it when there are more quantity or if there are more people, countries and businesses that will use btc.

It's completely understandable to be fair, when something dominates the news it almost convinces you. Although, that might not be the case for someone more experienced. However, I can remember price watching when I was a newer user. It's totally understandable to be like that when you don't have that experience. Of course, you can always search it up, but at the end of the day I think you have to experience it multiple times to build up that sort of resilience.

Also, to be fair we're in a global recession, and I keep saying this across threads, but times are very unprecedented right now.

I can't find a single store that accepts bitcoin or crypto as legal tender in my country so far. In the past we had a few bitcoin ATMs but now they are banned to my knowledge. My country's government still hasn't legalized bitcoin as legal tender so we as bitcoin users can't spend bitcoin on anything before turning it into fiat.

But I never thought that this situation would put bitcoin in critical status almost abandoned as long as the government legalized its trading. Bitcoin and many other crypto assets can be traded legally even though their function as currency is not legal. So there is no reason to think that bitcoin will die in my country and be abandoned by its current users.

It is good to see that any establishments are willing to accept Bitcoin but the question is if people are also wanted to spend their Bitcoin buying stuff.
That is really amazing, yet most of us had considered Bitcoin as an investment which makes me think that people are still preferred to use fiat over Bitcoin. I'm going to say that because, in myself, I can't do it. I can be one of those people who believe Bitcoin as a currency but never use it in real life as I can see more benefits if I use this for investment.

Most prefer to use fiat because it is more common than bitcoin. You can pay with fiat anywhere, but to pay for the same with bitcoin, you need to search well.

You are not alone, I think most of us think that way.
We might consider or believe that it is a currency, but find it hard to use it as one since there is a chance that we might gain profit by holding it.
I mean who would want to spend something like that, if you know that it could rise up any moment soon.
It is not that we don't see it as a currency we just want to utilize the profit that we could and we could still use Fiat after all so we aren't force or obligated to use it as one.

Oh come on man, really?
Who said you need to search well to send your bitcoins? I mean we are already having millions of buyer and sellers around the world. Bitcoin has already passed out that barrier where you had to wait for the peer to join so that you can start the buying selling process.

However, we have line of buyers these days. What to say about institutional investors they are always there to buy from you.

Do you really believe that there is wait time ?

I'm not worried about a bitcoin bear market. How crazy the bull market is, how lonely it is now. Take periodic breaks, and the market will eventually become lively.

Some of the merchants you said have removed Bitcoin as their payment because it's too volatile for example Steam in 2017-2018.
But still it doesn't reflect the fact that Bitcoin is heavily and widely used in different aspects of our life in both physical and virtual world. People that says Bitcoin is dead, they don't know anything about Bitcoin and just manipulate everything to make it real but in the end Bitcoin is always become stronger and stronger for every dump and crash we have experienced.

As others users have highlighted, some of the aforementioned companies or products are not there with bitcoin, but it does not matter, the very fact that they were there is interesting to know or remember.

Now, I think that it is not about who is using bitcoin as a means of payment or in which countries it is legal and even official currency (incredible to write, it is exciting) it is about believing in what Bitcoin means for everyone from us for its qualities, and not based on who uses it, or used it, if as users we transfer that fact, any data like the ones you mention are important references but should never be the norm of trust.

I feel like removing it makes absolutely no sense to me at all due to volatility, it should have been kept BECAUSE of it, not removed. I know that they may imagine it is a bad thing, but if they kept in 17-18 when it went low, and made that "loss" that means we are talking about 10x or even higher rewards when it comes to 2021.

So, let's imagine they sold games at 15k bitcoin price, and it dropped to 3k, so they would keep the bitcoins and show a loss of 12k per bitcoin, but then when the time comes and they kept it until 21 and they sold at 60k? That would be x4 profit to say the least, they could have sold games at 3k bitcoin price and sold their bitcoins at 68k as well if they hold.

Yes, you are right, the market situation of Bitcoin is down now, we are hopeful that the price will go up sometime, now if you want, you can deposit Bitcoin according to your needs.

True. Call me greedy but knowing there are high potentials for bitcoin to give us bigger profits, then I’ll always see it as a good investment rather than a currency. And only spend fiat to purchase goods and services as it has low potentials than bitcoin. And even if bitcoin will be accepted as a global currency, as long as it remains to be a profitable investment too, then I will surely keep it and hold it for long.

Bitcoin has faced so many times like this before and proved to us that it wouldn't end like other crypto.
Just see how many companies have accepted it I am sure that it would survive and be back on it's glorious time.
It would take time for it to recover all we need to do is continue to support it.

I don't understand why people are so worked up by the fact that the media are pronouncing Bitcoin as dead again, if you have been in the market for sometime now (for atleast two bear market) then you would had understood that this is a regular occurrence whenever there's a bear market. You have a point but you have only witnessed bear market twice like you said so how is that a regular occurrence? Have you not think that things won't always be the same? As time goes on and regulation becomes the only thing that keeps standing between Bitcoin and world acceptance what do you think will happen? Big adjustment will be born.
