Title: Share your Crypto experience.
Post by: JamesDaniel90 on November 21, 2022, 06:59:20 PM
I have now been investing in Crypto for 10 months and its been a test of patience thats for sure, feel like I have entered in a bad year with lots going on causing these bad times and low prices we are currently seeing.

My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away. I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.

I am just wondering if those who have been involved with crypto for a few years at least could share their experience and offer any advice for those new like myself?

Thanks

You have invest in a short time to complain. You are new in investment of bitcoin and don't expect fast money we are in bear season.

My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away.

Be prepared incase bitcoin fall more

I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.

Don't do DCA base only for the week duration but look at the price you want. If the price go down more the good bargain for maximum profit.

Guess what — 10 months is nothing when it comes to Bitcoin/crypto or investing in general. Want to succeed in this space? Get used to patiently waiting for years and years.

It depends on how you look at the market.
A good year is mostly referring to one in which the price is spiking up and if you enter at that time, it's very likely you would be buying at or close to the top, but when you enter earlier, you have the opportunity to accumulate at lower prices, building says all the way up.

My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away. I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.
• The next bull run could be more than 2 years away.
• Drop in prices should be an opportunity to buy more at cheaper prices rather than slowing down.

I am just wondering if those who have been involved with crypto for a few years at least could share their experience and offer any advice for those new like myself?
• Invest as much as you can spare.
That's the most important advice to navigate the market and avoid selling at a loss. If you invest smartly, you can easily hodl through different market conditions than someone who takes out money they need or takes a loan to invest
• Also, keep your assets out of exchanges or custodian platforms.

If you're lucky enough to have invested in the right and appropriate coin then congratulations but you need to be patient since we are still in the dip with bitcoin price, a little patience could change alot of stories about investing with bitcoin, maybe sometimes next year you may push for sell.

My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away.

And this is the only recovery means to regain back your portfolio as stated by you only if you can hodl, consider it that there's coming another bullrun that will make a new all time high during the halving period but only those that buy the dip and hodl will benefit such period.

I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.

Two weeks interval is still better than none, all you need is to maintain it with consistency and you will get and enjoy the end result to your decision.

I don't know what your investment pace is: you buy a little every month; if you bought everything you have 10 months ago.
But as has already been highlighted by several users, the investment - especially in Bitcoin, is a medium / long term investment. It's buy and wait.

If your strategy is to buy a little every month or occasionally, then now is a good time, as the value of BTC is at the same level as it was in 2020. And stay tuned, to buy again if it drops even more.
By doing this, you will be able to lower your average purchase price and allow you to feel more secure in the future, despite the changes in value that may occur.

when we talk about the time period and investing in bitcoin/crypto, what is the acceptable time frame? is it worth the wait and what happens next?
I mean, you invest and hold for 10 years, but what next? just extend the duration of the investment and so on ad infinitum or just enjoy the pleasure of owning cryptocurrency?

if I'm not mistaken, "hodl" hype was created by the creators of shitcoin so that their coin would not be devalued by selling.

It's a good decision to hold until there's a new ATH will come but don't expect it will happen in a shorter time, there's no time frame for that so invest that you are willing to wait and the amount that you can afford.

Usually, as per the past history of Bitcoin price, ATH will come after Bitcoin's next halving and it's expected that will occur after a year.  So possibly 12-18 months isn't enough and might you need to extend your patience until seeing there's a bull trend in the market.
For now, full your bag, and continue purchasing Bitcoin in a DCA way.

it won't be bad when the investment is made properly. If you've been in the market for 10 months, this year will certainly be a bearish year that will make you lose a lot, but you have to remember that this situation is a good opportunity to enter the market. If you have spare money, buy it gradually and hold it. A portfolio decline of -36% is still very reasonable, I myself have even experienced a portfolio decline of around -90%, as long as you don't cut losses there will be no loss, you just need to be patient and wait for the bull market to come.

You have no choice but to hold though considering that you invested 10 months from now then you probably be investing when the price was at $30k to $40k-ish and it would be a big loss if you sell it today due to stress and desperation. It's better if you stay away from the market if you always feel like irritated because it won't last just a day since you have to wait till the next bull run.

Try to do different things than what you used to do especially in the crypto market, instead try a new or different hobby that you didn't do in a long time. So that you won't be burn out stressing yourself when you can't do anything at the market.

You don't join crypto investment in a bad year, instead it is the right time to buy coins for investment. Since all crypto coins have decreased their prices very significantly, it is your advantage to buy many coins as cheaply as possible. If you are a real investor, you should realize this opportunity and you must don't care about the current drop in your portfolio. Commonly, people will hold for around 3-4 years, they target to sell in the next bullrun (after BTC halving). So, if you have bought enough coins, you can keep them in your private wallets and forget them for around 3 years.

36% down is still okay, many including me experienced more than 50% in my early years way back on the 2017 bull run and the bear market later on.
DCA is the best way for long term investment, so keep up and just wait.

You have to be patient with the decline in the value of the assets you have. you enter the market in a situation that is not good. even some new people who start the same as your position, I'm sure many come out with losses.
if you persist and try to manage your investment assets with better planning. I'm sure you will benefit from the investment you make. the crypto market is not a place to get rich and successful in a short time. a lot needs to be learned to make it all end well. hope you get everything from your patience.

Thanks for replies so far.

I started investing in crypto in January but it wasn’t until the June crash that I started Bitcoin. I have DCA Bitcoin weekly since June and my average buy is currently $19k so feel that was a pretty good time to start accumulating Bitcoin.

I am hoping these very low prices last at least another 3 or 4 months so I can accumulate as much as I can. I am currently focusing more on Bitcoin as some of the altcoins i have invested in are down over 90% since all time high and not sure if they will survive bear market.

Outwardly, yes you got in at a bad time. However, technically that's a better time to get into crypto when the chips are down so you can buy in cheap. So many people who bought earlier are already caught up in this dwindling price and are regretting it now.

Quote
I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.
If as a newbie you already have this type of mindset I would say you're doing well. Keep it up with DCA and patiently wait for the bull season in 2023/2024.

no. it's not a bad year for you, but it's a good year for you to buy with the DCA strategy at a low price such as getting a big discount

I see you are investing in the right coin (Bitcoin) so I think 36% is not difficult if you are patient you will find more than 36% profit.
and 12-18 months for me that's not a long time for bitcoin. look at the history of bitcoin for several years and always provide the best for long term investment

I am just wondering if those who have been involved with crypto for a few years at least could share their experience and offer any advice for those new like myself?

Thanks
The key to investing success is to be patient. if you are able to continue DCA and patiently wait for the next few years, you will find something extraordinary that bitcoin has in store for you.
but it all comes back to you whether you are able to be patient holding your assets in a few years

Just be ready to experience crazy Bitcoin and crypto movements at any given time either ways up or down and also get used to it, because Bitcoin is the captain of this cryptoship and can rough drive when there's big wave in the ocean to navigate those obstacles, The bottom line is that Bitcoin does what it wants to do at any given time and do not panic it's part of the long term journey, because #HODL is not just by mouth, you will definitely see some shake out along the road.

I have been to crypto space since 2016 , and i have experience a roller coaster ride i tell you, one time I profit a lot for a certain coin, and the next day its all gone because i fail to get out and convert it to usdt, or bitcoin, but i have learn a lot of things like, you should be prepared, and don't let your emotions, make decisions every time, when its time to get out do it, also gain lots of friends, and exchange information's, also brings me here in bitcointalk where you can learn a lot, simply by reading topics.

For those who have been in crypto since the last bear market are these low prices normal or something to be concerned about?

I will continue to DCA but with the last few weeks of bad news surrounding crypto I am more cautious now.

I think if you will look at the chart last 2017-2018 and 2020-2021 this are times where the price shoots up and goes down temporary , the reason for this are lots of things like for example the ftx collapse, luna, and other crypto currencies that has almost the same pattern of price going down, this concern the people who holds the coins in result they get out of the projects, and stay in usdt for a while waiting for the perfect moment to jump again, because at the end of the day for people who are here before us its just a cycle, the news and fud's make the market so volatile.

It is always hard to perfect it and make it right. Gaining profits should be patience, with the market sympathy we always need to be cautious ecen though we are already gaining a lot. Dont be greedy and always take profits.

Investment is good, generally Chinese people have taught their children from an early age, if you already understand crypto, of course investing in crypto is a good step, but investing is not in a short time, it's not an investment, you can't make too much for the 1-2 weeks you invest.

Trading on the crypto market may be good to do within 1-2 weeks, depending on the market movement on the type of crypto you are trading, remember trading has a high risk of losing your money, trading requires expertise and trading knowledge, such as: understanding of charts, analysis, volume, market, and so on, you can't trade carelessly it will be fatal.

My advice: if you invest in the crypto market do it in the long term, not short term.

Well, this a piece of short but very effective advice --this perhaps people looking at when they are planning to invest. The amount that you can afford, the amount that you can able to forget in a long term not always thinking of profit in just the short term. People should learn about this because this is a safe method of investing in trusted crypto like bitcoin, think about the future --not just every single day past just always looking at your portfolio.

Dont be greedy and always take profits.

This an important advise that comes with experience also. To take profit gives an encouragement and confidence to the trader. When you see an increase in your wallet or trading portfolio you can think rightly because your emotions are calm. If you leave your profit sometimes the market reversal can eat it up. I have experienced this alot of time and have realized this as a disadvantage to myself if the market don't come back to my profit then I have lost that particular profit. So I act promptly to take my profit when I'm not certain about the next market move because staying outside is better to be inside and get consumed.

You may see this current market as a bad time due to the downtrend in the price of your portfolio but this is actually the best time for crypto investment and I will advise you to always choose Bitcoin which is the safe haven in the crypto market.

I believe you have already gotten the needed understanding of the crypto market but the bull run market varies and sometimes it happens before the BTC block halving is executed while it happens sometime after.
I will just advise you to continue DCA on BTC every 2 weeks as you stated and dont keep your holding on exchange.

When you join cryptocurrency during the bear market, you might think you have made the worst mistake of your life, but I think that's the best thing that will happen to you, it gives opportunity to buy coin at a very cheap price, since I don't think anybody can catch the bottom, so after buying your coin, it might still endup dumping more which you will regret buying it, but just have patience and hold.

If you started trading during the bull run and you will think that's the best thing that have happened to you because you will definitely be making money and immediately you buy a coin, they will start pumping and you will be in profit, but when the bear market steps in, then you will understand that you bought those coins when they are at the top. Just imagine someone that started trading in the last bull run and was happy, imagine the person bought bitcoin at $60k, and someone that started trading during this current bear market and bought bitcoin at $16k, definitely the person that started trading during the bear market is the lucky one, but the person might think he is unlucky.
The only thing I will recommend you to do is just hold and invest in only bitcoin.

10 months is not a quick time to profit from crypto, and I understand because you are a beginner and maybe you have seen ATH before as an example, because a lot of people made big profits then. And it makes you think you can be profitable in a few months or years.
and what you should know is that they really go through a long process, especially patience to make good and long-term profits is the best choice in investing in this industry. For trading, it all depends on the market situation and the coins you hold, which in my opinion is not the right time to make profits in trading at this time and it is very risky.
DCA is a particularly effective option in the current situation, as it is the perfect time for you to increase your purchases during a downturn because they are cheap. And always use money you can afford to lose during the purchase and hold it for the long term.

Investing in only Bitcoin doesn't seem like a good idea presently, depending on the fluctuation of the market. There are countless altcoins in the market which can yields good profits if we place an investment on it. But it's one of the good investment to place on bitcoin, it's one of the top coin and also have a promising future ahead, I would urge anyone in the space to take good advantage of the golden opportunity before us, Bitcoin at $16k is really an opportunity we can't afford to miss, definitely not now that we're well highlighten about the space.

The thing that is very difficult for a trader or an investor to avoid is greed. We have heard a lot about people who are destroyed because of their own greed, they are never satisfied when they experience benefits and even tend to be dominated by greed which causes them to break. Maybe this kind of story will be considered indifferent if they have never experienced it, but we will realize when we experience it for ourselves. Don't let greed rule us, we can prevent it by targeting the amount of profit.

the focus on investing in Bitcoin holdings over the long term is great. that's not a bad thing. especially with what happened to FTT and Luna. it reminds us that a similarly bad situation could also happen to other assets like BNB.
so I guess for now it will be more long term investors focusing on Bitcoin. while those who trade can analyze altcoins for trading.

What do you expect in 10 months of thousands of percent profit? In my opinion, a healthy investment is one that will provide profits in the long term, namely yearly, not monthly, because the profit earned in the short period is speculation, which can provide very big profits but also big losses too
If your investment is Bitcoin you just have to be patient enough to keep it and you don't need to pay too much attention to every bad news that appears as well as a decrease in value in USD or Fiat, because eventually Bitcoin will increase in value you just need to keep adding to it every time you have money and with any theory during the target is long term you will get profit, just don't expect to get rich overnight, Bitcoin is not magic.

I've been through a lot of experiences, especially since I've known bitcoin for almost 5 years, so whatever experience I've had, it can be said that it's like the ups and downs of water, sometimes we can survive when the market crashes or we even get out of the zone and sell all assets. because of the panic so it was a learning experience for me too.

It is very natural if your portfolio declines by a few percent because of the uncertain market situation even we see prices continue to be due to a lot of negative news that can affect it, one thing that many people can suggest is that surviving is better than cutlos with losses suffered we will definitely recover and that's great too you will continue with DCA rather than nothing, I followed the same strategy as DCA with the aim of lower prices being able to accumulate more at this time.

I don't know how much decrease I have in my portfolio because I am still holding coins that I bought in the last bullish era in 2021. If I am looking at the portfolio, this will really hurt. ut once more, be patinet. I still have another chance in the next bullish. What I must do is by holding tight to the assets until they are able to reach the new ATH or at least pass the price when I bought them. This may be hurt, but this is a crypto investment where everything may really happen.

From this experience, I can take the lesson that I cannot be too greedy by setting very high price during the bullish era. Because If we are too late to take profits, this may end and miss the chance.

You basically entered when the bubble of the previous bull run had already burst which is probably the worst possible time any person can pick to enter any market, so you had bad luck, however as long as you are invested in bitcoin you can recover your money and earn profits if you can hold your coins, but if you were influenced by social media and invested in altcoins then this is not as likely, as there are many coins which will never recover.

I have now been investing in Crypto for 10 months and its been a test of patience thats for sure, feel like I have entered in a bad year with lots going on causing these bad times and low prices we are currently seeing.
What's your expectation before you invest? Don't you have any idea on what to look forward?

Because it's a roller coaster ride if you invest in crypto and it really takes a lot of patience otherwise you'll lose your money. If you're able to hold for long and didn't let yourself be influence of FUD then you have a chance to be one of those who can possibly gain once bull market takes place. This situation also happened before and it's only temporary so don't be discourage because being weak won't do any good for you.

36% is not the worst. There are those whose portfolios have fallen by 70% or more but they have not lost hope. You have to get used to being patient in the crypto space because it is a very volatile field. You may have entered the market with down time but this will not last long The bullish market must come soon, so You have to be patient and keep your assets well in a safe wallet and stay away from storing in central platforms so as not to lose your assets permanently.
Following a DCA strategy will have significant positive results in the long run, especially if you choose your assets carefully.

Nothing to fear, not only you but all experienced investors just like you, we are also holding our bitcoins and doing DCA. Bitcoin is a long-term investment measured in years, so don't worry too much about short and medium-term corrections. I think you are very lucky, not as bad as you think, participating in the bear market you will have the opportunity to buy at a much cheaper price than many others. Let's continue DCA, after the rain it will be sunny, bitcoin can't fall forever, history will repeat and bitcoin will have a new ATH in the near future.

Entering cryptocurrency is not based on bad or good times, or whether it is luck or bad luck, rather making a way for us to get income from it depends on the knowledge or ideas that we can get in this crypto industry.

Besides what you said, if your portfolio is down 36% that means you sold it on the trading exchange, right? but if you haven't sold it yet, it's just stocked on an exchange platform, you can tell if you're not a loser or a loss, because as long as you haven't sold it yet and you wait for its value to kick up in the market again, the chances are high that recover and earn money again in the future.

The majority of people lack the patience to wait, but it is one of the key elements at this time after accumulation due to the bear, the majority portfolio being down simply because of the current market trend, everything will recover. And exploring the world of cryptocurrency I appreciate that you are prepared to hold even if your portfolio is down 36% because the market will soon recover. This experience will assist you to minimize your losses and possibly make money when the market recovers.

You are here for almost 5 years now so that means you started on the year of 2017. I think that was a great year. It wasn't too late or too early, it's just perfect in my own opinion. Water doesn't have ups and downs but water can only flow in one direction.

The better example to use is a roller coaster. It is normal to experience this because cryptos' prices are not stable but this is great actually because it allows us to buy and sell properly. Cut loss is better for those traders but for the long term investors, they don't sell at a loss but they are buying more coins when the price is dumping. They know that they can make more money more than what they have spent.

There is no other way but to be patient to continue investing or you can decide to end your investment and wait for the market to improve again. If you decide to stop investing, you may miss the best moment to buy bitcoin at a low price because you are just waiting without doing anything. It's okay if your DCA slows down because the price keeps dropping. After all, you still have time to buy more bitcoins. You need to be able to hold onto the bitcoins you've bought and not be pushed into selling them just because they're falling in price. Everyone's portfolio has also decreased and it's not just you who are experiencing it but rest assured, this will all end well.

I start crypto since 2019 and I grab the chance to accumulate a lot of coin as possible to make sure there's a good profit during the ATH and I made it after that I learn to my self regarding with the technical analysis in trading So I know when is the right time to sell my assets and by that I become greedy and holding those with prior plan with the stop loss which is makes my portfolio not profitable after that I manage to make all plan with the things I do to make sure it's all recorded and make a move to deal with.

Sad to hear that you entered into crypto ecosystem too late. But I guess 10 months are not good at all to see profits specially during a bear market. Many people’s assets have been down more than 40%, so yes comparing their stats with yours, you have a better profit margin. Just don’t lose hope and wait patiently. Once the bull run starts, definitely you will see 3x profits. Be positive.

It's not easy to be in the crypto world for a long time. I have been here for a very very long time and I have started to reconsider about going out or not. Not because it’s not good, it's great and it's wonderful and I love working here, but personally I spend so much time here that I keep talking about it at all times. Last night my wife was literally mad at me for keep talking about crypto yet again, and she was just too much bored about it, imagine having a husband talking about crypto and you share nothing else? She has the right to be mad about it.

So, I did consider, but I do not know any other business, so running a new business would be very hard for me, I don't know how it’s done.

10 months are pretty new for me though I don't think you entered on a bad year, It is a very good year to start investing! Your portfolio might on loss for about 36% but try to zoom out and be patient. There are many who invested during the bear market and I see that there are people who profited on that time but there are much more who are at a greater loss. In this current market scenario, It is the best to try and learn how cryptocurrency works. I strongly suggest to do DCA since it will take years before the true bull market comes. A great patience is the key for you to succeed.

I don't actually know the type of coins you are investing in, this could mislead some people to give you some kind of general advice and you will apply it in the wrong coins and which may negatively affect your investment the more.

My advice is assuming that you are investing in Bitcoin, if I am right I have this to say to you ;
Investing weekly and because the price is going down the more you resorted to investing every two weeks, if the price goes down the more you will resort to investing monthly it is a bad move.
What you need to do is to know how much of your income or budget you want to invest in Bitcoin. Then continue with a steady dollar cost average investment, if there is any need to increase your Investments it is when the market dips. Stick to your investment plan and don't mind the market movements because we are already in the bottom region.
The worst can no longer happen we are all hoping for the best.

My advice in this kind of market is, buy the news sell the rumors. I mean in times like this where market is getting deep people started to get panic selling people started to fud, that's where the market crashes. If all of these things happen, that is the perfect time to buy, or maybe if you know how to read charts then do some charting first. Your mental fortitude will always be tested here, a lot of people will advice you for technical things but for me? I'll advice you to learn the basics of psychology used in this kind of market.

What crypto are you talking about? 10 month is a rookie number especially of we are talking about investing or holding in crypto.

My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away.

Where do you get the news of that bull run?
Sure halving is just few month away, but it doesn't guarantee it brings the bull run since the whole price is still unpredictable.

I Will continueto DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.
Isn't the whole point of DCA you don't have to care with the price or am i missing something here? Because your regularly DCA activities will build and add up in the long run when the price is higher, if you are scared with price drops then this strategy might not for you.

I've been in cryptocurrencies since approximately 2014, with two major breaks in 2014 and 2018. My Bitcoin's value has plummeted over 60%, but you know what? I don't really care. On the contrary, I'm somewhat satisfied when its value drops because every time I get paid in Bitcoin, I receive a significantly larger amount of BTC. You're still early in the game, but the issue is that the media often portrayed cryptocurrency success stories in such a way that they looked like a get-rich-quick scheme. Trust me, they're not. You'll need a ton of patience to survive the bear market; I didn't in 2018. If I hadn't quit then, there's a great chance that I'd have a great deal of money now.

You must wait until the next pumping.Because you start investing without fully understanding your market. You bought everything here at high prices but held onto it hoping for more profit. Because now you are facing a lot of losses.Always remember one thing after buying something from the market if you have profit there later you should sell that thing. Then you never did what you should have bought when the market went down again.Currently the market is dumping a lot if you can wait long after buying from this market then surely you could own a lot of money. However, after that, remember to sell your investment if you get more profit. And wait for the next dumping. In case of dumping, you will reinvest from there.

I ma still holding GTN (Relictum Pro) because I missed selling at the rate that I wanted to. This is so bad because their listing rate is lower than the token sale. bad enough. ANd I have nothing to do with the coin right now, ly holding and expecting that the coin price will rise higher again.

This is not only for GTN but also for all new project tokens or coins. Never trust anything new because they commonly will only make promises but will lack proof for the promise itself.

Investment that is relaly worthy is only on Bitcoin,

This is tough, this is normal to have losses, but make sure your losses will not affect your life, or let's say what money you invested will not affect your entire life even 100% of them will be lost. If you got in at a price higher than average you would see losses when the bear market starts. But I would suggest you to hold on to the DCA for now completely and just wait it out in order to boost your confidence once the bull comes back. Another strategy could be to buy at the low and not DCA but sell at the high only.

My experience has been so far so good, considering I am a very cautious trader and I usually go with very broad ranges to buy or sell at, usually that means having a time period of at least 6months to buy/sell one cycle.

I suggest you hold your horses and have patience, the initial years of crypto road might be bumpy specially when a bear market is ongoing, but I have seen it go through the cycles more than once and I can say that people will lament once the market goes up because they forgot to buy at low and also complain when prices go down because they bought at the high.

But without proper guidelines it is not possible to make a good amount of profit in cryptocurrency. But most of the people want to profit very quickly in cryptocurrency which should not be done in this case. Cryptocurrencies are mostly managed with long-term planning.

That is really a test for traders and investors. In this kind of trend, traders will adjust their strategy so that they can win a trade. Let's be adaptive to the trends of the market so that we can still earn a profit. Though the profit is small compared to the uptrend, it is still better than losing money. Try to make another strategy or strengthen your strategy now so that you can still win a trade, but if it is not worth the risk, let's just wait until the market is stable.

What you say I will only partially agree, cut loss is always used in trading, that's not wrong but in investing sometimes we will have to use it too. It depends on which coin you invest in, never use cut loss if you are investing in bitcoin but with altcoins like Luna or FTX, or recently Solana. If they are in your portfolio, when something goes wrong, consider selling. The market is very bad, I think those who still have altcoins in their portfolio should think about using cut loss.

Almost everyone here who trades cryptocurrencies has a story to tell. especially those who held onto their coins before the bear market and are currently unable to sell them due to the price collapse. I am a Kucoin user who enjoys holding KCS. I purchased my KCS at a price between $20 and 21 months ago because I thought there was potential in holding the coin until another halving before I sold. Regrettably, the bear market has made everything worse; I am afraid to look at my wallet because of how low it has fallen. At this point, the only option left is to hold the coin until it fully recovers, and I am even purchasing more.

Any investor that focuses much on profit before he makes an investment or has the needed knowledge has technically made a loss before he makes an investment.
Crypto (Bitcoin) is risky but the risk can be lowest if knowledge is involved.

Well I will share a not good crypto experience I have had and that is being scammed.  This news does not come as a complete shock because there's a lot of money in crypto and people will always find ways to steal valuables.

If you look at it from a historical perspective there have always been people doing scams, it's just now crypto has become so common in the populace that people are targeting it. I've been scammed before and I'd love to say it'll never happen again but it's just hard to say.

I think the key is doing everything you can do to be careful but there are circumstances that are out of our control. It really sucks when someone pulls one over on you but you have to get back on the horse and not let it sink you into despair.

There are so many good people out there, don't let some bad apples stop you from living your life to the fullest and still take some educated risks.

I've been with the same situation a lot of times and I can relate to your struggles but one thing I've learned through years is to be patient and always trust the capability of the coins that you're holding. The market really has to go through this season as a part of its cycle and we can't avoid it but rather deal with it.
If you can look back to the previous years, you'll see how the market dropped down and recovered later on. So the best thing to do is to keep holding rather than checking all your losses all the time. That will only cause you a mental breakdown so be calm and have patience.

This is a good advice, when the market is down it can be very depressing to see the value of your holdings and how each day they do not move or when they do they do it downwards, so the best thing we can do is that once our coins are stored securely on a wallet we control then we simply forget about checking their price every single day, I still remember that when the bear market of 2018 happened I decided to only check my coins once a week and this helped me to remain sane during that time.

With months you can get experience, with days and weeks you can get experience as well. Everybody's doesn't learn the same way so don't think everyone has to wait years before they gain the experience. With cryptocurency though it's advisable not to rush into anything as the market can always give you another opportunity to buy a particular coin.
My experience has been that, if you want to buy a particular coin, you should never buy all the coins at ones, always keep reserve money by the side as you can always buy a coin at a lower price.
All coins has their up days and down days so if a coin is currently priced high now, just wait on the market and you'll get that particular coin at a cheaper price.

In this thread, you don't really explain investing in bitcoin or altcoins. But if you invest in shitcoin of course it will be very difficult to recover. Usually they just follow the trend and can die at any time without having to see the market is bear or bull. Please note that good investments are only in bitcoin, ethereum and some of the top 10 coinmarketcap altcoins, other than that there will often be problems later on. If you are new for 10 months, I suggest to keep looking for experience, never stop and keep learning in crypto.

But let's admit it, the longer you got involved on one thing, the better, so one must not think that they are already good at crypto even if they only learn it in a short period of time. I've seen a lot of newbies who engage immediately in futures trading and then they come back here only to whine about their losses. Well, that was their fault. There is nothing we can do about it.

Now about the strategy that you are saying, I think it was also called DCA or dollar cost averaging. That's popular but there are people who can't monitor the market often so they will just all in, leave and come back only after some time to see if they are earning or not.

I will admit that the behavior of those newbies bothers me a little, they come to the market and begin to trade using leverage, which is very risky, and when we warn them about it they simply ignore us, but once they lose their money they begin to complain about the market and how it was so unfair they lost their money, when I personally think the opposite, newbies losing their money while using leverage makes all the sense in the world, they simply decided to not believe us and they get to suffer the consequences of ignoring us.

In few months experience cannot be built because in few months there is nothing to observe. Lots of people are experiencing losses and gain by investing major part of their cash into this field. I worked for longer period sometimes i think that i will certainly obtain benefit by such type of investment but later i observed that condition become unfavorable for me. losing and benefits cannot be observed and cannot be make certain as condition are unpredictable.
Some time investment does not make any profit but has to face more losses. It has been found that having good knowledge and understanding of training can be beneficial. If there is no idea in investing then it is never possible to succeed. It is better to invest in the coins that are especially good in the market. It is possible to profit from them mostly but if investing for a short period of time it is better to invest in good coins.

Everyone do starts on being a noob which everything you do tend to get involved with doesnt always end up on positive but rather on losses.Thing here is that you do make out those losses as your learning steps

for you to make yourself get improved. No one starts on being a pro which means that you do still have lots of rooms for improvement.Errors or mistake are really that common.
The thing here is that you shouldnt make yourself that easily  give up if you are really that eager on learning up trading or investing here on cryptospace.

This would really be a smooth sail ride which means you would really be facing up lots of challenges and hardships but once you do able to get good grip of it
then you would really benefit from it for long term.

It's because most people, especially newbies, are smart and bright during the bull run. They think profiting is easy as 1,2,3. The same goes with Future Trading, once they successfully gained some profits during the first phase of their actual run, their mindset is, it's not that hard to gain profit in crypto.

And after the series of wins, consecutive losses take place which leads to frustrations, disappointment, and regrets.

It's good for me to see newbies struggling since that will be their foundation in becoming good traders in the future.

story becoming an experience Looking at what the OP said, most people are always looking for profit and do not consider studying or doing research, which is true, which is why you see many selling off everything or losing all of their money, some do not seek advice from experienced traders, looking at most traders once they have the fundamental knowledge of buying and selling they feel they do not need any other knowledge all they are after instead of understanding the steps in trading like understanding stop losses and take profit targets. few things to consider while you are interested in trading.
-exercising caution while dealing with con artists posing as support on social media.
-utilizing security tools like 2fa etc.
understanding technical analysis.
After observing the state of my portfolio due to the bear market, there is much more to discuss the fundamentals to know than just buying and selling, but what can be done is just to wait patiently for the rainy day when every holder will grin again.

This is a very deadly trap the market play on newbie traders, since most of them get interested in the market when it goes up, it is easy for them to think that making money is easy as the market is going up all the time, so they become careless and they believe such a thing can keep going forever, but we know the truth, the markets move in cycles and once the bull market is over a bear market follows, and that is when all the profits they had get erased in a matter of days and newbies fail to understand how something like this could have happened to them.

Unfortunately when you enter the market continue to decline and until now there has been no sign to recover, I also experienced the same thing as you, I heard Bitcoin on the TV Talkshow in 2013, at that time the resource person told a success story because of mining bitcoin for a year and could be successful because A significant price surge at the end of 2013, then I was interested in investing around $ 500 in early 2014 and the price of dropped and I lost about 70% of money and this made me very sorry and there was no plan to return to Cryptocurrencies.

I guess you return once more to cryptocurrencies when you already know how the pattern of cryptocurrencies, well myself experience losing 90% on investing in crypto that is not in a top coinmarketcap but despite taking the loss I'm just going to stake all that remains, and hoping that crypto will back to new ATH when bull market started. It's really depressing that our investment goes down more than 50% in a short of time but if I have experienced that thing one time then the second time it won't affect my mental at all.

Consecutive losses filter out those newbies that don't want to continue; this is really the testing phase in which you'll see if your strategy in putting trades and your risk management are working well since no matter how good your strategy is without a proper risk-reward ratio, you'll still end up losing everything. Experience is a good foundation; losses mold you to be a better trader and also strengthen your strategy, with which you can win more trades. Mental health is also the key in trading; if you can control it, then you are good to go.

For those who have been in crypto since the last bear market are these low prices normal or something to be concerned about?

I will continue to DCA but with the last few weeks of bad news surrounding crypto I am more cautious now.

Investment or investing in cryptocurrency is dependable on your target, because i believe that every investor have target, and if you understand the rudiments of trading you will not be victim of the lose. Actually everyone who is into investment neither trading most be curious of investment of trading because of lose.

I am just wondering if those who have been involved with crypto for a few years at least could share their experience and offer any advice for those new like myself?

I honestly thought that I was going to lose all my invested funds the first time I invested in cryptocurrency a few years ago. It was challenging to watch the market crash and fall without having any idea about what happening or if it would still recover again. That was tough but things are different now. We now have an idea of how the market moves which is an advantage for new investors since they know the capability of the market. The bearish season is an open opportunity for everyone to buy and purchase potential coins and it isn't something to be feared of.

The value of your possessions is declining, therefore you need to be patient. You are in a bad predicament as you enter the market. Even some new people who begin in the same position as you, I'm sure many end up losing.
if you keep at it and make an effort to properly plan the management of your investment assets. I have no doubt that the investment you make will pay off for you. The cryptocurrency market is not a place where you can quickly become wealthy and successful. To make it all work out, there is a lot to learn. I hope your patience pays off in full.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of shitcoins that are listed on CoinMarketCap and Coingecko daily. From my experience, I confirm that the new tokens have huge profits and are suitable for daily trading, but their investment is high risk. For a beginner trader, hunting for new promising projects will be difficult due to a lack of experience, so I fully agree that Bitcoin and Ethereum are among the best and safest investments. The top currencies are also good, but you need to constantly follow the movements and goals of their teams so that we do not become victims of another luna coin. Gaining experience may take a long time, and it may last for many years, but in the end, any beginner investor or trader will be able to choose the right time to buy and sell and do research that will enable him to determine the promising tokens that he will trade.

That's a fact, many end up losing because they didn't expect that the market would crash upon their entry. It's not their problem but that's just sad for them because that's sort of discouragement to them as they've entered the market freshly.
Great things are being built up with the worst things and that's the same goes in the market so if someone new loses the value of the coins you've chosen. Start from there and study if you've bought the right coins and then if not, you need to do a reassessment of what you think is going to be a great long-term hold.

I have now been investing in Crypto for 10 months and its been a test of patience thats for sure, feel like I have entered in a bad year with lots going on causing these bad times and low prices we are currently seeing.
Nope, you didn't come in a bad year. It's just that you got in too early. 10 months ago would be around Jan. Price was still high then compared to what it's at the present moment. However, now is a great time to get into cryptos when it seems the tokens have taken severe beatings and what remains is for them to start surging.

Quote
My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away. I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.
If what you're hodling is Bitcoin, you don't have to worry or panic. Just keep hodling. However, if otherwise you may want to consider mitigating your losses now by reviewing and discarding those without any use-case. Cut your loss short on them.

This can be very discouraging but at the same time it was their decision to enter the market at that time and no one forced the to do something like this, because as we know when it comes to trading the markets your timing is critical, so those that enter the market right after an ATH or before a sudden crash caused by an event impossible to predict, like it is the case with the crash of the FTX exchange, have my sympathy but as long as they are patient they can recover the money they lost during the next bull run.

I would disagree with him to be fair, he started at the best possible year of all, I mean sure if he bought 10 years ago that would have been epic, but if he started a year before that, he would have bought at the top and then lose it all. In October 2021 we had the peak, if he bought anywhere there or before, he would have crashed.

So for the past 10 months, there is a drop but it is a steady drop and not from the peak, the peak was 13-14 months ago. That means anyone who started after that would be buying cheaper and if they hold it and sell later, they would be making a good return and could make a big profit when the time comes for them to sell at next ATH for example.

Trading with analysis is a must needed. My experience about crypto trading is not so good at all. I lost a huge amount got liquidated in future trading. We need to make short trades according to the analysis chart. That will be a great experience of trading.

Futures trading is for very experienced traders. And if inexperienced traders go for futures trading it will be like playing with fire. After doing market analysis and many times futures trading may see opposite results.

As I have seen in my crypto market journey, the more people leveraged their capital, the faster they disappeared from the market. So first of all it is important to get proper knowledge of crypto market and try to get knowledge about money management as well.

if you are a true investor then there is no word like Bad Year for Bitcoin or crypto because this may sounds bad this moment but not in the next coming days.
If you do love trading or cryptocurrency in general you shouldn't neglect the reality and forget the bad event or situation already happened in current day and the past, such as when it's on bad situation or bad market. Sure, like you said it could be better in the future but bad "day" or "year" does exist and instead of worrying about stuff, many people use it to buy more so it's still win to win for some traders.

Meanwhile investors who bought at high price just like the OP will have to be patient and endure because historically and based on past records crypto market do experience a bullish runs which is the perfect time to sell though it might not last longer like the bearish run.

90% of the crypto I own is now on my ledger.

I am coming up to 1 year in this crypto space and it has felt like a long year but at the same time has gone pretty quick!

Are we thinking another year before prices start to really shoot up again?

I think investing in crypto should not lose patience as it definitely requires a fair amount of patience. Otherwise it is not possible to make any profit by investing. If you invest in the market now and hold it patiently for a long time, you will definitely be able to manage as a trader. Otherwise you need to have a plan to get rich in the future by investing and you need to acquire good knowledge as an investment. Only then can you make yourself a successful trader by investing in crypto.

It is good to know the majority of your money is in a hardware wallet as we never know which exchange could collapse next, and unfortunately I really think that we are going to need to wait for another year of bad conditions before the market begins to experiment a decent recovery, now for some this wait is going to be too long and they will sell their coins during that time, however we must not imitate them, because by doing that they are basically making sure they will never become profitable investors in this market.

Bad experience,  mistakes are things that prepare one for the future, sometimes mistakes helps us to learn fast. I don't think it is right for anyone to hold back to their mistakes.  Mistakes should not be a reason why one would want to quit trading instead it should be a reason why people needs to learn more not to make the same mistake. In trading their is always lose and gain,  at times we lose because of some mistakes we make in trading and at the same time the mistakes is the best teacher for correction.

Every trader has mixed results and it shouldn't deter any good trader to stop trading but what happens is that at a particular time you need to evaluate your number of losses and number of wins and see if you are making a good progress. If you are not making a progress you try to change your trading strategy and also change your management of finance.
There must be a place where you have to evaluate your strength and weaknesses, if your weaknesses are above your strength you need to break for a certain time and come back later with a good strategy and strength.

The point is the evaluation of trading results, of course I think it is important to do. Evaluating is part of good financial management for a trader. They will know about how much profit and loss they have made so far, if it is profitable then the strategy can be maintained and if it is a loss then obviously they have to change their strategy.

About crypto experience especially trading I'm still very inexperienced given my leanings about investing over trading. I don't trade much so I don't have a particular strategy, but of course I know the right way to do it. Right now I don't like trading, but I never know if I will do it next time.

The idea of evaluation and self appraisal should not be underestimated by anyone. In whatever you do, as a trader or an investor, as a leader of an organisation or Head of an organisation, a manager of CEO. There should be a time you look back at where you started and get a clear picture of where you are heading to. Even if you understand that you are doing very well, there is still need for evaluation and have a brighter clue.

Even in this forum, there was when I was readily online and was intoxicated by the activities of the forum. But immediately I clocked 1 year in the forum. I evaluated my activities in the forum, I scored myself and decided to be on the moderate in order to last longer here.
That is the difference between a long time trader and an opportunist or a gambling trader.

Before depositing money in a trading platform, you should first test your strategy. Checking your wins and losses isn't enough because you'll be losing this way; you should first test it in demo account or by looking at the coin's history. Also, always have a risk management plan in place to avoid burning your account, which is one of the most common problems in trading. Your trading strategy will improve over the time when you see the ups and downs in the market and you can now identify if your strategy will work on the current trend of the coin

I think investing in crypto should not lose patience as it definitely requires a fair amount of patience. Otherwise it is not possible to make any profit by investing.
It's fair to think about patience and I agree to you. Because investors like me that don't have much knowledge before and still stick to the market and became patient.

I've reaped the rewards that one can do.

It's all about being patient and you've got still to do some research before doing anything so that you'll still get something for yourself, profit and learnings.

If you invest in the market now and hold it patiently for a long time, you will definitely be able to manage as a trader. Otherwise you need to have a plan to get rich in the future by investing and you need to acquire good knowledge as an investment. Only then can you make yourself a successful trader by investing in crypto.
Yes I agree with you on this point. Because if you ever invest in cryptomarket that is the first thing you should do. You have to keep a cool head and keep an eye on the market situation. When the price of any coin in the market increases and when the price of any coin goes dumping.  You have to target and exploit those coins so if you can exploit them for a few days then you can be profitable in a very short period of time.

if you are a true investor then there is no word like Bad Year for Bitcoin or crypto because this may sounds bad this moment but not in the next coming days.

But the thing here is that I am not really a fan of Trading , I would rather to gamble? or keep my funds on hold than to day trade (but I do semi long term sometimes) I treasure my Money and time so best to enjoy in which profitable institution you may enter and that is my stand till now.

Investing in crypto requires first of all intelligence. First of all, to do trending, you have to understand the market in such a way that you don't have to face losses. Investing should be done in good coins. If you invest, you should start with a small amount of money and later invest a little more money if you get a profit. But to profit from trending, it is best to invest in Bitcoin first. If you don't have to face loss in the future, if you trend like this, you can become a good businessman.

The first thing that comes to mind is to sell when you see the price falls. That's called emotional trading. You need to have a control over that. That's the first advice I got when I first faced a bear market.
I will tell you to do the same, as this is the best advice to give right now. See what other falls BTC have faced over the year from it's beginning. Then you will understand that is not the end. Just another speed breaker in the road. It will pick up the pace once more.

You enter the market when conditions of market was not so good therefore you lost much money but now the market is not so bad and those who have lost large part of their money can enhance their profits by trading in these days.

In previous certain years the market was high and I get good sum of money and the year 2022 was not profitable for me now I think that someone select some good coins and put different portion of money in different coin so their balance can have maximum value after the market grow more.

The trading sometime give you good worth but sometimes it goes against your hope. Therefore wait in case when worth is not according to you hope and sell when you think that this can give you profit.

Many long-term investors in cryptocurrency have learned to be patient and to not make investment decisions based on short-term market movements. They also understand that investing in cryptocurrency is a long-term game, and that there may be periods of volatility and low prices.

In short, the best advice for anyone new to investing in crypto, or for anyone experiencing a down market, is to be patient, diversify your portfolio, do your own research and not to invest more than you can afford to lose.

and by being patient we mean years at back of your mind.

familiarity with cryptocurrencies, specifically trading Given that I prefer investing over trading, I'm still relatively unskilled. I don't trade much, so I don't have a specific approach, but of course I am aware of the proper procedure. Although I don't like trading right now, I never know whether I'll do it again. I'll ensure that I've learned a lot before I get started.

The crypto market is a place where knowledge is very important before entering, people without experience should avoid entering without research. It should be known whether the market is bullish or bearish.Because entry is always done in a bear market and when the market goes up you exit the market with profit.Entering the market without experience can lead to huge losses because when you do not know that the market is bullish, entering such a market can expose you to huge losses.Because you are buying where people are selling. So you should have complete knowledge of the market and all the cryptocurrencies, which cryptocurrency and which project is good and when and how to enter.Because only bear season  is not only suitable for entry,The crypto you are entering should also be fully informed about its position in the market. Always enter the top projects where the risk of loss is minimal. The second most important thing is to always divide your capital into different cryptocurrencies so that if one project fails, the rest of your capital is safe.

Surviving investing in crypto definitely requires a lot of patience. It can be seen that many bad times come in the market when the market goes completely down. Then it becomes very difficult for an investor to survive in that market. But one should never lose patience by investing but he should survive in the market with great courage. Many investors have very bad times when the market is in a bad position for a long period of time. So those who have experience in investing have a lot of patience and they don't feel volatility in investment even in bad times but they are patient.

I have a lot of crypto experience, so I can't tell everything. maybe I'll say a little painful experience in 2021 when I got a coin from the bounty and the estimate was 2000 $ then I sold it 6 months later the estimate went up to 100k $ there I felt sad because I couldn't hold it for 6 months.
but i saw that there are many people like me, so i started to understand about trend up and down.

So if you prefer investing over trading, why you must familiarize yourself more with trading when both acts are different? Trading is not simple and you can only waste your time if you won't engage on it after you master it. It is okay to be unskilled in investing because you will mostly do nothing here right after you buy the coins you think will have a great future. Picking coins isn't that hard as well because there are guides on different websites if what coins are best depending on our preference if we want either short or long-term.

@OP, no you did not enter on a wrong time but it was actually a perfect timing because last year was the start of the bear market but in fairness you acted mature enough as a newbie in cryptos. Just continue what you are planning and you will survive this bear with a profit in your hands.

I don't know which one that is, but that is a whole ton of money. What went from being 2000 dollars as a "bounty" which is already an insane amount of money and not a simple thing, but then also ended up being 100k which is 50x higher at the same time just in 6 months? Not many things like that exists in the bitcoin world and that sounds like you are either not really giving the right numbers, or that is one of the most unique situations in the all crypto world that has ever happened.

Both 2k as bounty is something I have never heard, and 50x after bounty is also unheard of as well, if I had that, I would regret that as well, very much so.

Patience is really needed in this space, and there are not many people who have that kind of patience, especially when they see the profits that are already in the portfolio, they definitely want to be quick to enjoy them. Fear must also be suppressed because the market situation will not always be good and profitable, and it is in situations like this that we must suppress our fear and not make the mistake of panic selling, for example. We have to instill basic things like this in ourselves to become a good investor. These things may seem trivial, but they really matter in a world like this.

Agree, when it comes to patience then each person does really have that different level when it comes to patience on which not all people could really wait up for too long and not all would really be liking on
doing nothing at all and this is why they do really put up into their minds that they should really be doing up something so that they could really be able to see profits on shorter duration without needing
on having those long term holds.

Crypto experience out of long years is really like a roller coaster ride.Lots of things could happen along the way which is something not really that shocking since market is unpredictable
and cant really be known on where it would be going.

Could you tell us which coin this was, as far as I remember most of the newly launched coins have been performing poorly, I may have missed some golden eggs there. My experience with altcoins have been that only, getting a golden egg is like searching for a needle in the haystack so it is a worthless attempt to make when you have bitcoin always ready to buy.

If you did make a profit here, forget about it and move on, consider yourself lucky that the same coin did not go down in the dumps and never went up, which has been the case with most altcoins.

i have been in crypto for 4 years but not holding coins long term.
so I buy when there is an opportunity to go up then sell it maybe only holding it for 1-3 months.
then look at other coins.
and also from these transactions I also experienced losses and did not always profit but I enjoyed my process like that.

I, too, am an investor in altcoins. I primarily do bitcoin and other coins such as ethereum, but that's not it because I feel that I can still earn more through investing and discovering new coins that have the potential to grow. And, like you, I also invest in new altcoins that have a project. When I see a promising coin, I immediately invest in it. Yes, it's too risky because we never know what will happen to it, but as I said, I only invest in new coins and projects that have the potential for growth. I experienced investing in a project that didn't last long, but it's okay. It's a lesson to be learned, but I also have a lot of coins that gave me profit, and I'm proud of them. So even with just bitcoin, I can still earn, but nothing beats the opportunity bitcoin gives; nothing beats the first coin.

If your target is to make a big profit from your crypto trading, I guess that 10 years of hodling is too small for you to achieve your goal because you can be expecting big profit from your hodling when you hodl more than 3 years, and you will surely achieve big profits from the market.

I thought someone can trade his coins in the bear market to make a big profit, when I newly started trading because I used to see crypto trading like what I can do to become a professional with the knowledge of other business skills I acquired, but I missed a lot of profits that made me to discovered that when you trade your coins in the bull run help you to make a big profit

Now that another bear is about to occur in the crypto market soon, for people to buy and wait for the bull run to come before they can trade, it will allow you not to miss your opportunity too in every bull season which I have experienced positive results from that aspect .

You and everyone who ever did trading because we heard it from someone (yes even me included) fell for this trick.

Bull run, everyone profits. It's no brainer. But they forget that if they hodl anyway, you profit, probably less, but it's always yours. Trading makes you green and happy until the bull hides and the bear takes over. Then you suddenly see everything evaporate.

90% of us are not built to understand how to trade bulls and bears. It's a fact, we just have to accept it.

I think it is only possible if you buy early when price is still very cheap. We all have different reasons for selling and some can't hold for a very long time. With that being said, you shouldn't say that everyone profits in the bull run. Apart from selling early, there are also people who over HODL. It may be bad at first because they can miss the latest bull run but the good news is that they still have their coins and they still can participate on the next bull run which allows them to earn even better. A lot of us are naturally lazy but when it comes to cryptos, I think 90% is too much. Just because we are not built into it, doesn't mean we won't try anymore? No that was wrong.

This is the mistake people in bitcoin made since 2012. They thought it was only possible to buy early when price is "cheap".

$10 was cheap at the time. When I got in, $1000 was cheap. Then after the 2017 bullrun, $4000 was cheap. Then in this recent one, $20000 was cheap.

Trust me in next cycle people will see $60000 as cheap.

And THAT is why I say DCA is the best, no trader knows for sure when the cheap price comes, they can guess, they can get it right sometimes. And usually only need to get it wrong a few times to bust.

Those do have a big difference between them you are aware of that right? :D I mean 10 to 1000 is 100x higher, whereas 1000 to 4000 was 4x and 4000 to 20k was 5x higher, so as you can see it is not the same as "good old days", hence why there are so many people who end up investing into alts as well because they think that it doesn't really feel like it is a wrong thing to do because alts could still go a lot higher, the problem is that we are not sure which alt will go higher and that is why we may pick one that would be terrible and crash if we are wrong.

We should probably consider the fact that picking bitcoin and just investing long term is a lot better. I think it should be something to care about because if we pick bitcoin that will definitely be a lot better.

For me its more about risk management.  Just set a stoploss or a clear invalidation that your conviction in your investment is wrong. And the only conviction that I have on Bitcoin me being wrong is when it goes to zero. So I will hold it until it reach my personal conviction of 300k otherwise I am wrong. And as long as it's not reaching yet my target, I will continue averaging in so that my investment would compound overtime. I'm talking about investing in here and not trading. So the timeline in here is long that also ease my fear that I have a lot of time before I reap my investment. No pressure for me.

Yes I know how to count :)

It is not the same profit, but it is the same regret. People keep 'regretting' every cycle. So I'm just saying, don't keep ending in that cycle, it gets more regretful every ATH.

Keep the DCA started early and you will not look back again.

Altcoins prove over and over that you're gambling and never reach ATH again. Look at ETH, DOGE, LTC etc all fail to reach old ATH when BTC was running. Like every time! And people fall for it again? And again?

DCA Bitcoin. I repeat this 100x so newbies can thank me in future.

It is very hard to believe in history and words told by other people. So people who participate in this market must experience it, with time and some cycles like at least two cycles to miss opportunities, feel regret by hesitating too much and missing chance to get profit. After one cycle, they can learn something and avoid same mistake in a next cycle. But there are people who hardly to change after one cycle and they need like three or more cycles to change.

DCA is very good method for investment money in Bitcoin but 100x from 2024 price, Bitcoin will have price about $6,500,000 tu $7,000,000. It's very high price and I believe in $1M price first and I even don't know when Bitcoin will be trade around $1M.

$6M to $7M for 1 BTC is too much and in your post, you can not know when it will happen. If it is like 2100s year, it is too far for most of us to wait and get profit.

Haha, no bro even 10 months back was a good entry time and you've entered in good zone of the market and are still desperate why? haha just think about those who entered in the last Bull rally and took the entire bear zone pressure all these years still they are inn big loss but waiting patiently you should learn to control your emotions in the market because its one of the most important things.

Market always test the weak hands and mostly weak hands lose, it was a good accumulation time in last week.

Thanks
Well we have different experience in crypto, i am in crypto since 2016 i am doing signature campaign together with investing on some new projects i have a lot a good and bad experience, and i am thankful that after all these years i am still here doing the same thing with patience, all i can say is that if i am a good holder from the past maybe ive already earn millions,i have a big regrets when i saw my transaction history of selling coin specially Bitcoin if only i hold it till this present time maybe i am now millionaire but past is already past we need to move on for good so for me holding is a good strategy based on what i experience before, holder is alway win.
