Do not invest in cryptocurrencies. If you want to invest in a cryptocurrency, then invest in BTC; do not mix these things up as many altcoins do not have any potential or utility, so you might as well ask should you invest in BTC or start your business?

It is your money, and the choice is yours! You want an opinion then i would say do the both of them, that is good diversification, use some part of your money and invest in BTC and the remaining to start your business, all of this while you are still working as a freelancer is a great plan.

Or you could use all of the money to start your business, and since you are still working as a freelancer, you could then start buying BTC with the income from your work using dca strategy, that way you already have a business you have started with your savings, and you have a growing portfolio. Cheers!

with the current state of the cryptocurrency land, every investment must be considered long-term. So, if you invest now, you can expect a benefit from it for at least two years. if you don't have a problem with waiting so long, then investing in cryptocurrencies is acceptable. Definitely keep in mind that you don't need all your assets to invest in it.

I don't know what kind of business you have in mind, but if it can bring some "guaranteed" profit in the short term I would go for it. when it starts, you can always reinvest part or all of the profit in cryptocurrencies. that way you'll have both ways.
considering that the market is in decline, you certainly still have a good period ahead of you that is suitable for crypto investments.

Investment is entirely up to you; all you need to do is prepare mentally and physically for any investment you wish to begin, and always learn thoroughly before embarking on any business.

The current state of the Bitcoin market is favorable for investment; therefore, I recommend that you learn more about Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology in order to understand the main processes involved in Bitcoin investment.

Or you could use all of the money to start your business, and since you are still working as a freelancer, you could then start buying BTC with the income from your work using dca strategy, that way you already have a business you have started with your savings, and you have a growing portfolio. Cheers!
I will also follow this advice because it will be very good and will provide more experience, and you will be able to keep your freelancer job by investing the profits in Bitcoin and keeping the business growing.

You could do business while doing freelancer and maybe can put up some of your funds to crypto as investment but dont overly invested cause the market is very volatile and that isnt sure profits. While doing business can do much more especially if its a good one.

I’m on this same scenario before https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405285.msg60516153#msg60516153 but the only difference was I already have the Bitcoin to start my business but I’m hesitant to sold my Bitcoin due to the potential of pumping since back then was the first wave of crypto market crash. I ended up selling part of my crypto holding and save some for my crypto savings. I decided to just split my asset just to make sure I can start my business and generate profit while still involved on crypto investment.

I’m currently have a stable income on my buy and sell business while my remaining crypto assets only lose few amount since I’m not holding huge amount compared before. I’m now slowly DCA on Bitcoin using part of my business profit. My target is to exceed my old Bitcoin holdings slowly using my business profit only.

Securing a stable source of income in the form of business first is best way then just enter on crypto if you are already generating profit. Bitcoin investment needs a lot of time commitment for your money to grow since the current market will give you high risk of losing more to your original holdings value. If you have the capital to do both by splitting it then I suggest to do it but don’t all in in crypto if you have a business plan.

Obviously the answer would depend on a lot of factors(do you know the industry, is the idea good, etc), but 80% of the time I'd say go start a business. You have more control over the business compared to buying cryptocurrencies; and add the fact that a business would actually give you cash flow.

I would go with starting your own business. Having your own business is equivalent to being your own boss and not having to answer to anyone(except to your clients of course). Investing in cryptocurrencies(preferably bitcoin) is a nice idea especially now that we’re currently in the bear market. But for you to reap the benefits, you would have to hold for a long time.

Having a start up isn’t always easy and as with all things, comes with challenges. But the idea of having your own business is a noble one as you would be an employer of labor.
I would advise you to start your own business and later on, if you’re still willing and financially buoyant, then you could delve into investment of cryptocurrencies.

But why not do both? Or are you trying to say that you will trade actively hence you cannot do both as it needs an ample amount of time? I suggest you start a business of your interest rather than trading. You can start a business and then invest long-term in the top and more stable cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

Trading is not an easy job. Based on my experience and observation of people I know, in order to earn regularly in trading you need effort in technical skills and you also need to follow the news and trends. You also need the experience because every now and then some strategies aren't going to become effective forever. And besides, the risk of losing is always there and it might be too stressful for newbies to handle.

you can do both (invest and make your own business), don't just invest all your money in cryptocurrencies if you don't have a stable financial foundation, you are only making things difficult for yourself.

Opening a business that provides you with a stable income will definitely make you leave your freelance job, so you should choose a business that won't let you leave your freelancing job at all.

currently, it's a trend that people have income from many income wells, so don't just depend on your income on just one income well, you need more side income.

Investing in cryptocurrencies (including BTC) is always a risk, but no matter what someone advises you to start a business, you must know that it also comes with its own risks. Whatever you intend to invest in, you should certainly do as thorough a research as possible, which will try to reduce the risks for your investment. There are certainly businesses that could pay off in times of inflation, and there are also those that could very easily fail in just a few months.

I will ask a simple question - why not divide the money into two parts and start a business and also invest in something else? It doesn't necessarily have to be BTC, but it can also be real estate, gold or something completely different that you think could bring profit in the future.

If you have saved a reasonable amount of money why not continue because it is good and also stable for your finances or maybe it can be made into other assets such as Gold, Property, or other more important assets compared to Cryptocurrencies which have high risk.

You, as a beginner, want to invest in cryptocurrency, you will not necessarily get good results, but you will have a bad experience because you as a beginner of course, will not understand everything, including how the market moves which fluctuates a lot at any time, so you have to understand that and learn everything if you want to really get into cryptocurrency investment especially Bitcoin.

Creating a business must also be with your abilities and what opportunities are good for it, have you seen the potential, then you can run it along with your freelance work, but if the business is created in crypto currency, then you have to do longterm work investing but if you want to earn every day or every week then you need to trade but keep in mind that in cryptocurrency there are high risks that must be faced.

Bitcoin is better known as a long-term investment asset for everyone, you might consider bitcoin as one of the reasons why you should invest in crypto. Bitcoin allows you to buy lower now as the -76% discount is still in effect, you should decide to invest in that soon if you are starting to believe bitcoin is one to recommend.

So you should own bitcoins instead of trusting other cryptos (altcoins), and be a long term holder.

Put crypto as your last priority. Continue your freelancing career while establishing your business as we never know when these prices would last before bull run starts again. It would really suck to get losses these days just from how our current economy goes lately.

At the end of the day, if you have some money that you afford losing, then that might be the cue for you to buy some crypto though I would advise you to think about it thoroughly. It does not matter how many or how much since you got to start somewhere anyway.

If you do not know, take a step back and think it through. Everyone is different, and your path will depend on your own personal situation and skills. Figure out your goals and aspirations in life. Does "be a investor in cryptocurrency" make the cut? If it does, then go for it. Investing in your own business is probably a safer investment. But, it is all about the mindset you have. If you believe in cryptocurrency and think it will be a viable investment option in the future, then invest. Just don't pour your life savings into crypto! :)

All the advices here pretty much contains all of the information you would need to make a decision, cause the final decision is yours to make, others can only make suggestions with the information you provided (which isn't much).

Your understanding of Bitcoin and the business you plan to enter should also help guide your decisions. Both investments have their own fair share of risks, BTC has a significantly less risk when compared to many altcoins, and some businesses are more risky than others (and possibly even more risky than holding Bitcoin).

Making investing choice should depend on your interest and how you can achieve that. For you to be a good crypto investor, you must be ready to learn and ready about how you can about your journey to become a crypto investor. There are a lots of crypto scams and weak coins that could make you lose all your funds in seconds which is the reason why you need to be very careful with how you are going to get things done.

If you also have interstate in investing things then that is okay because it is good to spread your eggs not putting all your eggs in one basket. Investing in crypto and other areas too so that you can have random investments which are cool.

I would suggest you establish a business but this depends on the amount of money you have saved so far and also invest in Cryptos precisely Bitcoin and you have to note that investing in Bitcoin involves some kind of risk because the market is very volatile and it also involves being patient.

Why I suggest you should go for the two options is that so you don't have to regret in the future, maybe if you only had established a Business and later you see Bitcoin skyrocket in price or only invested in Bitcoin, later the price of Bitcoin falls lower than the current price and you start regretting, therefore going in for the two will help you not to miss out on both.

If your source of income is not enough to sustain you then I will advice you to create more source of income first(business) before you investing crypto. Having more money for daily consumption will save and help you to concentrate,  not depending in your investment even if the market price falls. But if you are okay with what you earn as income it is good to invest in bitcoin,  a long-term investment.  The market right now is good for long-term investment.

Do not complicate things. If you have a reasonable amount of money, then you can invest half of it to bitcoin and invest the remaining half to your other desired business. That way, if bitcoin fails, you still have other business to generate an income for you. Do not go all in with bitcoin, the risk is too high knowing bitcoin is highly volatile.

I'd propose splitting the money. Take a portion to establish a business and a portion to invest in bitcoin. If you're confident in the potential of the business you want to invest in, go ahead and do it. The small profit you generate there can be used for your family's sustenance while also contributing to your bitcoin savings if you still have enough profit to invest more into it.

I'm so confident that you'll earn from your bitcoin investment rather than the business since I don't know the nature of the business. Bitcoin has the potential to recover its previous growth rate. Investing in bitcoin is a good idea right now because you will not be sorry. Hold for as long as the market remains bearish until it recovers. Then you'll be able to witness the fruits of your investment.

Don't think of your bitcoin investment as a savings account that you can dip into whenever you need money, which highlights the importance of focusing on your business as well. If you want to gain a lot of money from your bitcoin investment, you should never rely entirely on it for your daily sustenance. Instead, concentrate on your business and watch how your bitcoin investment grows over time.

Before I give my suggestions, I'll love to ask you some questions. What do you consider your freelancer job as? Do you consider them as mian Job or side Job. If your freelancer job is a side job then focus on investing as it's obvious you already have a main job that take most of your time and adding a business to that won't be recommended as you can't jungle them all which will lead to you losing out. But if your freelancer job is your main job then you can start up a business along with that and with time you can shift focus to your business to make it a main job that you give more attention while you turn your freelancer job to a side John.

Irrespective of all this, you won't be doing yourself anyharm by turning in some funds into investing in Bitcoin and holding for long term. Don't make investing your full time job but whenever there's an extra cash, save them in investing in Bitcoin. This is the surest thing to do now as in 5-10 years time, Bitcoin will be trading at outrageous price that you won't forgive yourself if you didn't get you hands on them now.

Don't just see the potential for profitable crypto, but you also have to really understand the potential risks that will arise if you don't really understand what you are doing. Investing in cryptocurrencies is not as easy as you think, the risks that will be incurred will also be very large if you are not prepared with everything and some basic knowledge. starting your business in crypto also depends on regulatory issues set in your country, don't violate the rules that have been made. If crypto is legal and allowed as an official transaction then many businesses that you can build with crypto, not just trading but business goods and services can be integrated with crypto.

There are a few questions to answer before making your decision on which to chose.
  • How long are you willing to hodl
  • Do you have plans for this money any time soon
  • How good are you in managing business
  • Are you willing to learn how to manage secure your keys
  •  How much capital is involved

How long are you willing to hodl
As a starter Bitcoin should be the preferred option for investment and to profit from Bitcoin it will require holding for long. The term long has no specific time frame it could be 6months, 1year, 2 years or even more depending on how fast it takes price to go bullish.

Do you have plans for this money any time soon
If the money has a short time need then business should be a better option for your said capital. business too rewards but the difference is that Business will give earned/ active income but if Bitcoin starts rewarding it comes as a passive income where you get rewarded just for holding.

How good are you in managing business
If you are good at business management having a business and investing in Bitcoin can be another alternative. That way it will be the proceeds from the business that get invested. It will be a good way to manage risk as well.

Are you willing to learn how to manage secure your keys
It's not enough owning Bitcoin knowing where to save them is more important because your keys are as important has your investment. Always chose cold wallets. Most preferably run your own node.

How much capital is involved
Starting a business is more difficult this days. The cost of running a business gets more expensive has inflation rate keeps hitting the roof. If your capital is good enough to give a passive income then business can be a good start then the proceed used for investment. But with little capital investment should be preferred.

I will not recommend you use all your money to invest in cryptocurrencies. Because, using free money is the most appropriate, namely money that you don't want to use for anything, when it turns out that you fail in this investment, you won't have a problem. Because investing in cryptocurrency has a very high risk. Don't believe someone who says investing in cryptocurrencies will make you rich quickly. this is not entirely true.

I will prefer to suggest you divide your money. Some higher percentages to start your business that you really know. and I think that before your business is stable, you are better to stay in your job, don't quit at first to avoid some problems in your financial system. But if your business is likely stable, you may consider it.

You can use some smaller percentage of your money to invest in cryptocurrency. I will only suggest investing in Bitcoin because this is the most trusted and valuable crypto. But, never think to get a quick results. Investing in Bitcoin is much worthier in long-term period. At least, you can invest in Bitcoin by buying them right now and waiting for the bullish era. So, you can add more investment in Bitcoin using other free money while your business is also running well.

Why do you need to choose which one to do?
I think you can do them together. You can invest in crypto coins while you are establishing your business and working as a freelancer. You must know that investing in crypto doesn't require a lot of time every day. After you buy BTC or top altcoins, then you are only holding them until the bullrun season. This is not a very complicated matter as long as you can manage your time for each activity very well.

You can actually invest in both, buying some bitcoin and putting up your own ideal business outside cryptocurrency. But make sure that the money you invest in bitcoin is something that you can afford to lose, otherwise when bitcoin price crashes and drops drastically, you will end up feeling depressed and frustrated. Invest but only on the amount you can manage to lose.

As a freelancer and if you are good at it, I can conclude that you earn some good amount of money and you live comfortably, that is why you were able to get good savings.

I will advice that as a freelancer, if you have some times and skills to supervise your business at the early stage, open a business and nurture it to grow. But if you think you will employ persons to run a business you have no idea about, please save your energy and invest in Bitcoin while you continue doing your freelancing jobs.

Business in the start up stage needs alot of attention to survive, if you know you gonna starve your new business the needed attention, please invest until you have a good time to handle business.

What do you want the most?

If it's starting a business then start with it and when you're back on track, gets the ROI and everything then start investing in bitcoin. But if that business can do with the half budget you've got now.

Then, just do both things. Buy bitcoin while starting your business. That sounds easy, right? It's easy to buy bitcoin yet starting a business will require you more time and effort.

Why not do the both thing at the same time? I think we have to clear a misconception here as I have noticed, some newbies also asked this question before.

Again, treat cryptocurrencies as a normal investment instrument. You are nowhere compelled to dump all of your lifesavings or funds into investing in this high-risk, high reward system. You can also always enjoy the rewards by also pursuing a different path. Remember that this is an investment- meaning, the proceeds that you will get is due to your diligence and responsibility as an investor to monitor its price.

Lastly, you can always focus on different ventures while maintaining an investment in this field. It doesn't have to be an absolute thing where you are compelled to focus only on one thing at a time.

Build your business while you have plenty of time to do both (business and freelance),
Some cryptocurrencies aren't good for your mental health especially if you have a lot of centralized service utility tokens in your portfolio.

Do you mean, OP shouldn't choose crypto investment?
I think it is no problem to invest in crypto, nothing wrong with crypto investment as long as OP has sufficient knowledge about it. I am sure OP has a good mentality as a crypto investor, that's why he considers having crypto investment.

The problem is if OP expects fast profits, it is unlikely to happen with the current market condition. OP only can expect to take profits once crypto market already recovers and crypto prices increase again massively.

Regarding business and freelance, these jobs can be run while investing in crypto. OP won't spend a lot of time on crypto investment if he doesn't buy too many coins. I think OP needs to buy 1-2 coins only, BTC and ETH seem the best option.

I suggest at first invest in business, because you have control on it, you can do whatever you want, while having a freelance job, then all your income in freelance will be invested in cryptocurrency, in this way, you have 2 source of income, one is in a long term like other suggestion, in that way the risk of loosing money is small, 2 source of income is better than one, also at this moment that the price drops, some of the coins in the market are really on sale, having also a business makes you forget thinking all day of your cryptocurrency investment, if you keep looking at it sometimes you will make mistake, to sell early that's my take on this question.

It depends on what cryptocurrency do you want to invest, many of them are scam and to be the shit coin, so be careful for that. If you happy to invest it 50:50 in bitcoin and establish your business is good, but only you have plan when you want to sell it, You must have target, don't be late to sell when ATH, after you sold and profit then build your business again, and expand your shop asap, after that all finish, invest/buy again bitcoin on 2025, wait for ATH, sell it again, profit, build again your shop, then buy again bitcoin on 2029, and so on.

I think the decision is left for you take, but to me I think running a business will be a nice idea, if you are still interested in Cryptocurrency then you can start investing some profits you are making from your business in Cryptocurrency, if you are investing in Cryptocurrency, make sure you invest in only bitcon and you should be ready to hold for long term, Bitcoin investment is different from freelancing that you might be paid per job done, or a business that you might be making profits daily or weekly. In Cryptocurrency you have to be prepared to hold if you really want to make good profit.

The reason why I asked you to invest in business first is that you might be making profits daily in your business and you will be using it to sustain yourselves and the money you are getting from your freelance job, but if you are investing in bitcoin then their is no daily income, incase if anything happens and you really need money, you will have to sell your bitcoin to solve your problem. Also you don't have to invest all your money in crypto, invest what you can afford to lose.

Investing in crypto (particularly in Bitcoin) and starting a business are both risky. Because whatever you choose there's no assurance that you'll get a good result. Hence, the answer would depend on what you prefer and where you're confident to be a gainer in the future. In my experience as an entrepreneur, I will prioritize to build a business because it's a valuable asset that can make me financially stable. Of course there's no guarantee, but it depends on your dedication on how to make your business grow. If you like what you're doing and determine to succeed then you can do something to make it possible. On the other side, investing in crypto is also profitable however keep in mind that patience is necessary here and the waiting time is uncertain since we can't certainly predict when will the bullish season might come.

Investing in cryptocurrency is a good thing, but the in my own opinion if it's possible to invest in two that will be a good one. Out of 100%of your savings in like 20% in cryptocurrency for a start and 40% in any kind of business for the first time, then the remaining 40%should be as backup.

First of all you make your mind.

Means if you want to use crypto world as business so you should learn about trading. And than invest wisely. And trade wisely too.
Crypto world is also a business place.
Or if you want to invest in and you want to hold so I will prefer Bitcoin. You should invest and just hold it for years.

And if you want to invest in a business so you can invest.  But choose a good business.

Note: Don't invest your all of your funds on first hand.

One more suggestion is that don't choose only one project choose different and invest.
If you get loss from one project the second will recover it.

Build your business while you have plenty of time to do both (business and freelance),
Some cryptocurrencies aren't good for your mental health especially if you have a lot of centralized service utility tokens in your portfolio.
Do you mean, OP shouldn't choose crypto investment?
I never said "don't". The OP wants the best option of the two and that means isn't business the best here? Several types of businesses are able to yield regularly and continuously.
For whatever reason, investment is a risky financial instrument, especially in high volatility assets.

I'm assuming the OP is a beginner since s/he started a question on this board. "When a newbie is interested in investing, then tell them the risks first."

if to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish my business.
Both of these activities have risks, different levels of risk, you must have the expertise and master the business that you want to run, that's very important, crypto investment is the same way you have to really understand the type of crypto you want to invest in and also the state of the crypto market, the two activities you want to do have different work and different benefits, that's for sure.

Just a suggestion, you can do both of these activities, run your business and make your investment, where you are doing your activities in business, of course the investment is also not hampered to do.

Why not do the both thing at the same time? I think we have to clear a misconception here as I have noticed, some newbies also asked this question before.

I think choosing one would be better. This is if you are a beginner in business and crypto. If you have an expert one then walking together probably won't give you a headache.
Starting with one will keep you focused and trained. Once trained then you will be an expert. Once expert then you can do it easily. After that I think start with the one you think you can. Because dividing the concentration in two different paths I think requires a lot of effort. So start with one by one It would be better the result.

Before you decided to enter crypto, ask yourself first. This applies to Bitcoin or altcoins.

1. Are you ready to take risks?
2. Are you financially literate?
3. Do you have backup funds or sources in case your crypto portfolio goes down due to the bear market?

If you can answer these questions above (and/or someone would add something here), then you are emotionally ready to buy crypto despite the market volatility, no promises or astronomical returns, etc.

I can relate to you because I’m a crypto freelancer myself and saved enough money too. Despite that I have lost 7 figures in total of crypto since I began my journey, I still managed to sustain myself by keep doing more gigs on the side. It gives me more motivation to do more even with the huge losses I have rather than whining and crying all day.

If I were in your position, I will run a business and continue working. Investing in crypto is also a good choice but that should be in limitation and only if you have excess money after establishing your business. But during this bear season, investing in them will take long before you will gain a profit, so if you are not comfortable with waiting long then better not to do it. Crypto investment can't give you a profit everyday, unlike in a business at least you can get some returns every day.

It's better to establish a business, crypto is here to stay and it's comfortable if you are making money and use part of the money to invest in crypto.

Do not forget how risky crypto investment is that's why it will be a wrong move if you use the money to invest in crypto.

The both options at OP are good. I'm not going to say cryptocurrency is all you need right now, NO. It's a good investment too but not all you need.  Cryptocurrency is unstable and there are chances that, you might make profit within a defined time frame or not. Now the thing is, this time frame isn't predefined by you and as such, your in for a long wait that you can't even tell how long.

In all the wait time, business is the thing that can keep you going. That's if you do your homework right as to what business to start. You get to survey your locality or zone to site your business, know what's lacking, know what they just aren't getting enough of, know what quality services that isn't being rendered and you provided them. Have a proper management plan and you just might have a successful business.

Also, you've got to know that crypto is the future and diversify. Ensure you have some of your portfolio in crypto and your good.

You can always chose the less risky investment and which will give you high chances of making profits, and definitely establishing a good and in demand business will do. Once you are gaining good profits from it, those extra profits can be a good start to invest in cryptocurrency. But never invest for short term as cryptocurrency particularly with bitcoin will always be profitable if you invest in it for long term.

If you have a good business in mind, that guarantees good profits even for short term, then make it as your top priority. You can always add another investment like cryptocurrency if you are already making extra profits from your first business. But for now, focus on your first business and work on it so that it will give you your expected profits and even go beyond that. Crypto is also a good investment but the risk is too high that it can’t give you guaranteed profits.

Every decision has consequences and I think you need look at it very well. The decision to invest in cryptocurrency should not be sentiment but very rational, base on good and enough information. If you want business, do business and if it is crypto, do it but out of sound understanding of what you are getting into. The risk is very high and the reward is also high but it is important not to put all your egg in a basket, especially with cryptocurrency. For whatever reason for a volatile market invesment always have a business to fall back to

I would like to note you mentioned cryptocurrencies and not bitcoin. There is a big difference in vitality and credibility. Looking at your post history, it’s obvious you strongly believe cryptocurrency is a key to riches because a friend suggested so. In the near future you will come to find that there are a lot of “experts” and “friends” who will lure you into ponzis masquerading as trading platforms. A lot of good advice have been given, as for me I wouldn’t tell you what to do but I can tell you this, the first three to four altcoins you buy in this crypto business, how you handle the losses, will dictate how you proceed in this space. So you make a decision.

People here talked about the Dollar-Cost Averaging [DCA] upon investing in bitcoin and which is I think the ideal decision for making a profit for the intended in a long term. That is right --bitcoin investment was intended for a long-term investment or set a goal amount that you can take profit, time does not matter not unless you will hit the goal of making a profit.
You can choose both depending on your budget, if you have a large sum --investing and doing business related to bitcoin is always the best choice.

It depends on whether you'll be able to start a business and put some money into bitcoin. Don't buy altcoins if you don't have bitcoin, that's one of the things that I tell people who ask me about "crypto". Owning altcoins isn't a bad choice, but bitcoin should always come first and be the largest part of your portfolio. If you want to know why it's because becoming exposed to altcoins exposes you to bitcoin too, but not the other way round.

My answer to your question OP is yes, invest in bitcoin, but don't go all in. Even if you decide to build your business, put 5% into btc. We not only regret things we do and fail, but also things we don't do ;)

Hahaha......
I don't even know why this funny to me ... Uhmm first of all, when you say the term "crypto currencies" what exactly poops up on your mind? What token has really made you decide to invest in cryptocurrency ?... Cus yes, we have alot of tokens out there.
I won't advise you to take that step cus it sounds as if you wanna invest everything you got innit and expect to get a proportional return but in Bitcoin specifically, sometimes it gotta pull your legs vigorously as it's uncertain to make a living outta it. I:e it pays on due course, when the market is right..... But if you ain't planning of giving everything into it, then it's really fine as the leftover would build a business that you could rely on....untill whenever

Start your own business of course you have to gain more experience first in order to make your business growing instead of dying in first few months, by talking to more experienced people and go into the field to check what is going on related to your type of business. After that the profit of that business you can spend it to invest on Bitcoin for more passive income.

Lot of stuff to do but to be honest growing up your business is really good while also you can inherit the business to your kids once they are grown up. It's really worth it.

I guess he saw the growth of the cryptocurrency market and got interested. but your suggestion is correct. it's better to start the business he wants first than to enter the crypto market without good knowledge and it could make him lose the capital he has collected so far.
when he is focused on his business and starts doing quite well, it can allow him to learn more about the crypto market. although it does not rule out, some people are lucky with the crypto investments they make recklessly.

Considering that freelancing is already a business that you are building which I kinda made the misconception from my previous reply in this thread, I must say that s/he already is doing the business part since in freelancing you are entirely offering services to your clients outside. Businesses is not all about selling goods anyways, since I kind of remembered there were some IT solution companies that offer their tech service and troubleshooting to people either inside/outside their country.
Once OP's career in freelancing goes off, now is the time to put those "extras" in crypto.

20% of the small businesses fail in the first year and in the 5th year, 50% of the businesses fail and in the 10th year, 65% of the businesses fail. LINK (https://www.successharbor.com/percentage-businesses-fail-09092015/)

I'm not into business and I know myself that I'm not succeeding into business, and I know that there are some people who already know which works for them and which aren't and for me, business isn't for me. If you really want to start your business, capital isn't enough, but know if you really are capable in building one because there are many factors that might affect your business. Location, competition, how you market/advertise your products, services etc.

As for me who isn't into business, being a freelancer and investing a portion of my monthly income into cryptocurrencies is better, but both of them have pros and cons. If you already build a successful business, you can just continue being a freelancer while doing your business if you can do both. Getting rich in being a freelancer and investing takes longer time than being into business.

Overall, it's up to you. You can try and build a business if you want to try but be sure that you are ready for the worst. You can still invest into cryptocurrencies while building for business so why not try both?

That is for you to decide. Just think of the high risk you can find investing in cryptocurrency. The market is unpredictable and the profits are not guaranteed, so would you still want to prioritize it? However, if you can keep crypto for long term, I must also say that the profits are huge and incomparable. But if you are still starting and would want to make some guaranteed and quick profits, I suggest establish your business first and when it’s working and profiting already, then you can start investing into another business like cryptocurrency. That way, your profits will not be compromised. And definitely, invest in crypto on the money you can manage to lose to avoid future regrets.

In all businesses and investments, risks will always be present. But if you are just a beginner, learn to weigh the risks first and chose which one has less risk. I suggest focus on your business first and work for it to achieve good profits. If you think you are already doing good at it and has gained good amount of profits, then re investing might do. This time, give it a chance for crypto and stick to bitcoin. Set your goal for long term, in less than a year or two, for sure you can gain significant profits already. Just stick to your goal and never lost your patience, that way you will succeed in your investment.

If you're asking this question, you probably aren't ready for either. A business requires a ton of work, regardless what line of work it is. Investing in Bitcoin takes a lot of patience, and isn't with any sort of guarantee. Both are risks, but it's generally accepted you could make a passive profit with Bitcoin if it continued to go up. A business, that's unlikely to go the passive route, especially if you're freelancing. There are some businesses which earn passively, I'm not saying that.

I generally think you shouldn't be convinced to invest in Bitcoin for the potential return. Instead, you should do your research, and determine what you'll do by the features of Bitcoin, and whether or not you think it'll go up based on those features.

Do you think people will generally become less trusting of banks, as an example?

One thing you need to have in mind is that crypto investments is never a get-rich-quick scheme whereby you could invest $100 today and expect getting $200 in few days time. As for one to make any significant profit in crypto, it requires time due to it's volatile nature, which is why for me, I'll suggest going for business should be a good idea for now until you have enough funds to carter for your immediate needs,  as crypto is more profitable for long term investment

Establishing a business all depends on the nature of business and also the money available as well.
There are a whole lot of factors that actually determines the success of any business one would want to venture into such as location, availability, people's desire and a whole lots of that.

Cryptocurrency just as we know is the future and a very nice asset to invest in such as Bitcoin but you must aso have to put in mind the high risk involved in Bitcoin due to its volatility despite it's lucrative nature.

There are a while lots of opportunities involved in cryprocurrency and outside just seeing it as a form of business, it can be treated rather as an investment where you have to buy and keep buying while holding for the future and one of the best times to buy Bitcoin and any other crypto is now since the market is still bearish.

N/B. Not a financial advice.

You have to choose one of the two options to keep your finances safe and can add up easily. Investing in Cryptocurrency cannot always be profitable, at certain times you can lose some money due to very fast price fluctuations.
Starting a business is one of the media that can make your economy better. If you have small capital you can build a business starting from a home business, but if you have large capital you can build a business on a large scale. Starting a business means that you have created new jobs, at least for yourself if the business is still small. If your business has developed, more and more workers will be absorbed and economic growth will continue to run well.

The cryptocurrency right now is quite stable with the price range of 16-20k and if this breaks there's a chance to get again in the 4 digit price of the bitcoin and if you got the timing to bought a coin it is the only way to get profitable, it depends on you how long you want to hold this token, if you have extra money and willing to risk go a head but don't put all the single pot those assets this might risk your daily expenses, its more ideal to go with the business if you succeed you can make an investment in cryptocurrency easily but if the business does not get a trend this might lose more than in your cryptocurrency investment.

I started with crypto investment before any real world business, because I believe that crypto will work out, in 2018 I got some coins and sold for higher price in 2021, I had enough to even reinvest in any crypto project today.

I had so little to start a business with but enough for crypto investment so the choice is yours but the safest route is business first and investment later.

You are right, investing for beginners must require knowledge and analysis to manage investment management in crypto and avoid the high risk of wrong investments from bad reputation coins, I think OP must understand the risk of fluactive markets due to different price movements and OP should invest cold funds for purposes long term investment.

You start business directly without investing in cryptocurrency. With the rest of the money, you invest bitcoins in cryptocurrencies. And since you are joining as a freelancer then you can invest your money in cryptocurrencies later on. If you can use these two systems together, you can be successful. I recommend you to use these two strategies straight away. If you have market dumping after investing in cryptocurrency, business will help you to support you. And if the market is pumping a lot, then you can own a lot of money from there. You can make your business and investment stronger.

There are a while lots of opportunities involved in cryprocurrency and outside just seeing it as a form of business, it can be treated rather as an investment where you have to buy and keep buying while holding for the future and one of the best times to buy Bitcoin and any other crypto is now since the market is still bearish.

If you believe we're still bearish, while it's the best timing to accumulate Bitcoin, it's never the best time to buy altcoin. Why you may ask, altcoins aren't guarantee investment as no matter how big you think an altcoin is at the moment, it can still vanish just as Luna and FTX did (and this are just the famous ones we know about). There has been many other altcoins that have stop trading because of back of liquidity or exit scam by their founders. This is the critical times for the altcoins industry as many coins you see been relevant today mightn't even make it out of the bear market.

I always advice to wait until Bitcoin fully recovers before you can play with the altcoins market and they should also be short terms and never believe anything their founders say, as they'll say anything to keep up the hype of their products. The altcoins market is just hype game as I see no reason why some project will be trading as high as they were in the bull market and don't be surprised when you don't see that project achieved such trading price never in its lifetime again.

The majority of the advice offered to you suggested that you develop a business before investing in cryptocurrencies. However, before you respond, would you kindly let us know what kind of business you have in mind to choose over cryptocurrencies? Will the business give you profits in the near or distant future? When deciding whether to start a business, take into account that.

Nevertheless, if you accurately estimate your revenues, investing in cryptocurrencies won't prevent you from running your business. Create a successful business using the money you already have. You can invest in cryptocurrencies(invest with spare money) once you have proven your ability to make money from the business started. The cryptocurrency market is accessible to investors at any moment they feel to invest.

I don't know the one I should do at moment, if to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish my business.

Engage the two, both of your options are good to take, business or investment should not be onna single venture, you have to create different means to earnings, your source of income must not be only dependent of single enterprise that's why all eggs must not be in the same basket, this is one of the risky precautionary measure to take in avoiding business failure on a long term, one will definitely cover for each other.

Investing in crypto is something good especially Bitcoin when you have the money and also have another sources of income. So If i should advise you I will like you to investment in Bitcoin so far you have alternative of income which will you be using others activities particularly feeding stuffs or others challenges that come. Why I advised  you to invested in bitcoin it because more energy stress in a business which you will not have much time to dedicate to  your freelancer work which  was even the source you  have used to gathered some amount, but once you are holding Bitcoin it is less energy stress free because it does not involves activities which lead to energy stress.

But to have less stress from Bitcoin investment never leave your Bitcoin in centralized exchange, because leaving it there  means it is not only you that have control over it, but  Buy and move it to decentralized exchange that only you have control over the wallet. But for you to enjoy and profitable in your bitcoin investment you need to understand the risk that it involves and also believe patient and holding Bitcoin for long term is the best strategy.

Investing in cryptocurrencies  is always a risk, but no matter what someone advises you to start a business, you must know that it also comes with its own risks.

You should diversify your investment portfolio by investing in a business and also in cryptocurrency, specifically BTC. It is better to diversify your sources of income because it reduces the possibility of loss or risk. Your business can be a source of daily income for you, while cryptocurrency can be kept as a long-term investment from which you will benefit later.

However, don't set expectations for what your cryptocurrency wealth will become, as you may not get what you want, leading to disappointment. To reduce the risk of failure, simply be skeptical about the business you want to start and thoroughly understand it.

I suggest to start your own business first less risky than entering crypto if you have no enough knowledge, later if your business became successful then you can allocate a percentage of your profit and start investing in crypto, both have advantages but business has a sure potential income if you can run it smoothly.

You can do both investment and business, invest in cryptocurrency with a small part of the money, and start a business with the rest of the money for diversified income.
Investing in cryptocurrencies is always risky and requires investing time in understanding the crypto market and learning about investing. If you start investing in cryptocurrencies, it is recommended to start by investing in Bitcoin. It is the most trustworthy and valuable cryptocurrency, and long-term holding can make profits.

Since the price of bitcoin has significantly dropped from where it was last year, I will seriously consider investing in it rather than taking a chance on a new business venture that requires more time and work to run. If you decided to invest long-term in cryptocurrency, you still have more free time to unwind and enjoy life. Additionally, you have some free time to explore and pick up new skills in a different interest.

Perhaps, doing business is even more profitable compared to Bitcoin if you could get the need and demands of the people around you. It is indeed risky and needs more time and effort, unlike just investing in Bitcoin that we just hold and wait for the right time to sell but if we believe this is our passion, we'd rather choose this option.
But if we think we can carry all the risk and can dear to face the challenge, then taking them both is not hard. Some people did this and the are multiplying their money fast.

There are two things involved here, firstly you need to understand that if you choose to invest in crypto you won't recoup your investments immediately its a long term commitment and you have to go in wholeheartedly while choosing to open up your own business means extra resources and your profits should start paying back immediately you are setup, so it's all about how risk hungry you are but to play it safe go with the business then from the profits invest little by little into some crypto.. Win-win.

Well in cases that you really need a somehow reliable source of income, I would say just do it in your own business venture though it will depend on the urgency on need of money. Business really do take time to build and I even recall my clothing business back then going slow and I was posting a lot of it in Facebook and getting no attention, but then it started out slow that I marketed it to few people starting from my social circle then going large to having a returning customer and you know the rest...

If the business you are building is really your interest, then you might need to focus more on that rather than investing it to crypto. Crypto will always have one of these days anyway.

Well, what works for someone else might not be a good choice for you, so I don't think there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the decision to invest in cryptocurrency or start a business depends on a number of factors. Investing in crypto is risky, and you could lose your entire investment. If the value of a cryptocurrency rises significantly then you stand to make a profit. Starting a business on the other hand takes time, effort and money. There's also the possibility of losing money if sales don't meet expectations or if competitors arise. Starting a business takes work on your part, but it also puts you in control of your success. Is it possible to achieve financial freedom from an investment in cryptocurrency? Yes, theoretically it's possible. But the world of cryptocurrencies and businesses are changing fast, and it's difficult to predict the future of one or the other. It's hard to say which will be more profitable in the long run. There are pros and cons to each route and your choice will probably be shaped by your subjective decision.

I think the OP wants to be greedy, I believe her plan was to buy a whole BTC and if she still reading this I will advise her to both start the business and buy some fraction of BTC when she has some spare money she can DCA on Bitcoin.

You are the only one that can decide.

As for me I will invest in crypto and still run a small business, the reason why we get tired of a bear market is because of the condition we are in while the bear market is active.

Many people invest more than they can afford to lose and when things look more uglier they start to freak out, invest what you can afford to lose and use the rest to run a business.

Now go to your question, I would say it shouldn't be one or the other, but it should be one and the other. What do I mean? You should both invest in a business that you have adequate knowledge of and also invest in cryptocurrency particularly Bitcoin. investing in bitcoin is one of the main choices when you want to invest with low risk.
and altcoins can be a second alternative to take bigger profits with bigger risks.
but if indeed we can be good at choosing some crypto assets to hold long term choosing both of them would be better.
just think of ethereum as the oldest altcoin that has little risk compared to other altcoins.
so we can choose bitcoin for the first asset and ethereum as the second asset as a long-term investment

When it comes to making this choice, I believe you should give it some thought before coming to a decision because, while investing in bitcoin won't be bad at all, considering it to be a long-term investment, and I actually understand how you feel when it comes to choosing one, I feel that investing in physical business  is not also bad. If you aren't using the money right now, I believe you can actually buy and hold, the opportunity is still there to do so. Also, if you want to buy, please stay away from altcoins and also avoid keeping your assets in an exchange and please keep your private key in a safe place.

Investing in an established asset such as bitcoin is already a great move. And at the same time, you can divide and give each portion depending what you think is right.
You can all-in to your business if you want to or do that to bitcoin but as much as you're decided, choose what you think will make you grow. Not just by learning lessons but with the aim to be successful by doing any or both of it.

Seems Op is having double thought. maybe he has bitcoin and business at heart , and he is not sure of which investment to go about.  The best thing is to invest amount of bitcoin that he can afford to loose, then can also invest in business with remaining money left with him. It is always advisable not to put all investment in one basket, it is good to diversify investment . Investing in bitcoin and also investing in a business is a good one, he can depend on the business for steady income and hodl the bitcoin until it is profitable.

If you have handsome amount of money and you want a small but instant and quick Profit  then you should start a business rather than investing in Cryptocurrency. Because crypto is longterm game, all those who invest big amount of money in Bitcoin and hold it for 3 to 4 years they get a huge huge profit which they didn't expect, like all those who bought BTC at 6k and sell it on 60k they got 100x profit. While on the other side if you start a business it will give you instant money but small. So decision is yours. It's just my taught so DYOR

It depends on your experience if you had knowledge already with business then go establish or invest in business and it's up to you what kind of business you should think about the place , the people and ofcourse when it comes to city so you can build a good business depends on what people need. In my own opinion regarding in cryptocurrencies if you don't have enough knowledge about this then maybe you should stick on stocking some of bitcoin this is the best asset you'll ever had so far.
and if you're not sure about crypto you can learn more about it on internet.

Maybe you can do both, but it's best to use the funds you have to build a business and then when you have made a small profit from your business then use that profit to buy bitcoins and make bitcoins a long term investment, because if one day your business goes bankrupt at least You still have bitcoins that you can sell and may be able to make a large profit selling them later.

Investing in crypto is indeed a tempting thing but of course it also has risks.
But I think the sensible thing is to grow your business first.
Because you can fully control the business risks that you will develop.

Besides that, also start to increase knowledge to invest in cryptocurrency.
It's just my advice not to invest in just any crypto coin.
Invest your money in Bitcoin and maybe top Altcoins like Eth.
Make sure you don't waste your money investing in shitcoin.

Investing in cryptocurrency should be a conscious and voluntary choice based on knowledge. And if you think that your knowledge is enough, you need to make your own decision about investing, since this is your money and you are fully responsible for their safety. But if you still have doubts, then invest half of the funds you have collected, and leave the other part to create a business.

Money is not enough to start up investment,  their must be knowledge to back it up. Knowledge is the principal thing one needs, with knowledge one don't have to be confused how to go about investing. When it is difficult to make decisions concerning investing it means their is no preparation yet. Some people thinks having money to invest is all they need and they do not try to consider time in investing on knowledge is also important .

As the market is currently not in a good condition, you might invest all of your funds and think you can sell those coins you invest on in time, but due to market conditions you might not want to sell it and you might be in need of money or you might have an urgent problem to solve, so what I'm saying is that freelancer is where you can make yourself feel comfortable at this moment. Or out of your funds you can use 30% to invest while 70% into your business.

Both investing in crypto and starting a business have their own positive and negative sides. they also have their own risks. But, you need to know what you need to do with your money because you need to manage your funds. Crypto investment may be promising and will give you big profits But this is a higher risk. You may not patient enough to see the bullish era. But if you are really ready for the condition, you may set some budget to invest in crypto. Ensure that it is Bitcoin investment only for newbies. Money management is very important here, you may also star doing business and investing in crypto right? It is based on your own money management to minimize the risks. Not all in.

Both investing in crypto and starting a business have their own positive and negative sides. they also have their own risks. I agree with you that both has advantage and disadvantage. Business without risk is not a business. According to entrepreneurship, entrepreneur must have the mindset of calculated risk. A risk that you know that must come but it will be a profit one. Which kind of business the OP is planning or doing. If the business is making profit that you are satisfied with then there would be no need to invest with your capital but you can still invest with the profit in bitcoin.

Though everything depends on you, you are the owner of the money so you use your money the way you want. Happy New Year to everyone here.

I have been working as a freelancer for years, and I have saved some reasonable sum of money. now knowing the full potential that cryptocurrencies have, I am now confused on what to do if is to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish a business while still working as a freelancer, I don't know the one I should do at moment, if to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish my business.

Crypto is a risky investment, if you want to invest, you must first have knowledge about it, don't rush to invest even bitcoin, because I see many people recommend only putting money in bitcoin. It can be said that bitcoin is safe, but with its volatility, being a complete newbie like you is also very easy to panic and can lose if the mood is not stable.

As for opening a business, if you have experience or knowledge about it, you should invest in it instead of investing in cryptocurrencies. All make a profit, so choose the one you feel is right for you. As long as it works for you, you can make much money without investing in bitcoin.

Don't start in things you don't know, if you are a total newbie in crypto much better stay away on investment and research for further more knowledge. Much really better if you invest your money on physical business and create a income stream with it so that you have enough money to use on your crypto investment attempts. But if you are really interested on cryptocurrency especially on bitcoin maybe best not yo rush things and gather all ideas needed so that you became more knowledgeable on many things you want you enter.

Crypto currency can really be a good investment plan because of its rapid rise  and high returns overnight. But you have to be prepared for the risk involved, even in businesses there are certain risks too , crypto currency is a good investment especially when you desire direct knowledge to the demand of digita currency, but before you go into the investment plan, having the adequate knowledge of it is very important, so you really know what you are going into.

You can actually do both if you have the sufficient funds and you think you are capable enough to manage them well and make them successful investments in the future. Besides, crypto investments won’t take the most of your time, and you can still make use of your free time managing another business that you think will surely create a demand to the customers around.

It all depends upon you if you have the skills and knowledge about cryptocurrencies go with cryptocurrencies. But my suggestion is that only invest in cryptocurrencies if you have spare money in banks that you won't need to use on daily bases. And if you know business very well so it is wise to invest in business. You can do cryptocurrencies as side business.
Yes, people should always invest the amount they can afford to lose in cryptocurrency but Maaz Sultan there's no skill needed to invest in crypto what is needed is only knowledge.
I think the OP wants to be greedy, I believe her plan was to buy a whole BTC and if she still reading this I will advise her to both start the business and buy some fraction of BTC when she has some spare money she can DCA on Bitcoin.
Well, if OP will start seeing business to fulfill his greed, then I don’t think his investments will succeed in the future. It should always be noted that any successful investment takes time and sometimes are slow in progress, so if he’s greedy and only want quick profits, crypto investment won’t work for him. However, if he can be a good and patient crypto investor, and has also knowledge and expertise in running a local business, then he must try them both to maximize his future profits.

Investing and owning a business can be both. Investing in cryptocurrencies is risky, don't invest all your money in cryptocurrencies. It takes a long time to profit from investing in them during a bear market. This requires the return of doing business to meet the needs of daily life.

Both Cryptocurrency and running a local business require no expertise what is needed is the study of your competitor's drawback, introducing something creative that will thrill consumers, and the simultaneous provision of great service when this is done the rest is risk and financial management.
Having said that, for the OP to be successful in both crypto and the creation of business is the reason why I advise she should do both. However, she must see crypto as an investment or a method of saving fund instead of putting it in the bank so she can control her FUD and buzz. Besides, this will encourage long-term holding.

Since you are working as an online freelancer you must have a good idea about bitcoin and crypto currency. But if not then just want to say don't suddenly invest in cryptocurrencies. If you know about cryptocurrency's volatility, risk factors, its history and have a good idea about future prospects then you may be worthy to invest in this platform. If you are very enthusiastic about investing at this time then invest in Bitcoin which will be able to give you a good return. There are also some altcoins where the investment risk can be relatively high. Investing in bitcoin for a long time will be able to reduce your risk.

Since you are here connected with cryptocurrency. Then you must have good knowledge about cryptocurrency. But I want to say if you are interested in investing in this cryptocurrency then definitely invest in Bitcoin. Later on you will be able to pay better from this investment. Coins other than Bitcoin will put you at a lot of risk in this crypto currency. So if you invest then definitely invest it in Bitcoin which will not feel risky even after holding for a long time and will get good returns from it.

First and foremost, obtain some knowledge first both from crypto or from your desired business that you want to establish. That way, you will know which one will fit for you based on your personal capabilities and skills. And second, consider the capital you want to invest. Otherwise, you would want to venture on both business if you have sufficient capital, and if that both works, you will have multi sources of profits if possible.

Investing in cryptocurrencies and starting a business are both risky. The encryption industry is a risky investment. If you want to enter the encryption field, don’t rush to start investing. You must first understand the industry and learn more about encryption. You can start by investing in Bitcoin first, and you will be able to make a good profit from your investment.

Investing in business is time consuming as after investing in it you have to sit and watch it  closely. You also have the stress of waking up in the morning go to the shop so you try to run the day to day activities of the shop, but Investing in crypto currency won't stress you that much as all you have do is buy coins and stay on your bed or anywhere and monitor the exchange value of the coin either on your phone or laptop or better still just buy and leave it for long term profits.

If you have a lot of savings that you can diversify, then I will advise you to invest some in cryptocurrency and also some percentages in setting up your own business. Cryptocurrency investment does not need time devotion but your business needs time to build so you can easily combine the both of them and arrive at the good ground but over concentration of investment on one side may frustrate you when your expectations failed to come to manifestation, so the role that says you should not put your eggs in one market come into play here.

For busy people, investing is the easy way rather than starting a business that consumes a lot of energy and resources. It will be hard to start a business and just let other people run it, most of it fails because they might not give their 100% effort and they won't lose anything. If a business becomes successful though, it earns more than a long-term investment. So it is always the higher risk with the higher effort that profits more which is fair enough. I am also torn between these two. But it seems I will give up most of my time if ever I pick to start a business.

It is quite true in terms of the time requirements demanded to manage a cryptocurrency investment compared to a business. While the later requires presence, crypto currency investment can be done by a broker, the individual, and can be done over a period without bothering on the current gains.
Unless you don't intend to work again, have enough capital and is sufficient enough to absorb losses, I wouldnt advise starting a business just yet. Weigh the pros and con's apart then you can really decide which would pay you better in the long run.

We don't need to be discouraged from starting our own businesses. Op seem to have had experience from working for somebody and wants to take a necessary risk and chances are there that he can succeed if he gradually go in for it. He doesn't need to stop his work entirely but can reduce the rate of focus and divert his strength, energy, ability and ideas to grow his business. At least now he is a freelancer, so he has more control of his time.

That's the idea we all have until we finally decided to invest in it and instead of to sit and watch our profit grow the opposite happened. Investing in crypto doesn't mean the investors should just go online search for examples of promising projects and invest in them. You should be willing to spend some considerable amount of your time to doing research because if you fail to carryout your research properly you will only end up what little it is that you have invested.

As for me I would advise Op to consider going into both cryptocurrency and along side running a business, but that will depend on the amount of money that Op possess but if Op has enough then he should go for both of them.

Since he brought opinion about his intention to invest in cryptocurrency them that is fine and he shouldn't be discouraged because he is looking for other ways to make money by investing which is a good move for him. What he need to do is to learn some prerequisite things about cryptocurrency so that he can know the necessity for being a crypto investor.
I don't think he would have to stop his online work to invest in another sector like cryptocurrency where safety and self displine would be very important.

Running a business needs more time, especially at the start and if OP has enough time to manage it while still at work, success is not impossible. I support the idea of doing this because this is also what happen to me until such time I decided to stop working and focus on the business we've started. It is really all about what we think could be the best for us and our passion. But I see that most business owners are doing nothing instead, they focus and allocate their time solely to their business which I think we should have to think about and do this if possible.
