Title: Where's the 25.5J/T promised in the new Bitmain firmware for S19 Pro?
Post by: vellanix on December 21, 2022, 05:24:53 PM
Need help with the new S19 Pro firmware: it promise 25.5J/T so I updated my S19 Pro 100th.

After the update  you can choose Low Power in the setting but I cannot get the promised 25.5J.

In standard mode I get 29.6J (100 Th with 2960 W) and in Low Power mode 30.0J (78Th with 2358 W).

So what's wrog?

someone managed to get the promised target?

It seems it's just a bluff I also heard on Reddit that after upgrading their units there is nothing changes in the hash rate and efficiency.

Do you mind to try reset the unit to factory settings? You can reset it by holding the IP report button for 5 seconds until it bleeps then release then set up the unit again and check for changes.

Unfortunately I cannot hard reset since they are in a farm; but I tried the factory reset via web interface but same (bad) results.

I have both S19 Pro and S19j Pro but in Low Power mode the hashrate drop by 20% but the rasio it's always about 29J/T

So strange

in fact, the improvement is there (just a parameter in reality), but the improvement is lost by their regulation at 70c on the chips, they heat up more, and therefore consume more...

this can be circumvented by blocking the fans at 100%, but, oops, it seems that it is disabled in this firmware... so unplug the 4 blue wires from the fans to block them at 100% to cool it down.. .

But, another but, there is this parameter that you can't change without touching the firmware: --bitmain-voltage-compensate <arg> Set bitmain miner voltage compensate in low temp (default: true) , so if detect low temp, he rise up voltage for heat up this :s

To see... to try!

with unpluged blue wire of fan for fixe at 100% : 2890w (28.5w/th)
