Celebrate yourself but don't forget the moral code and security of Bitcoin, don't sleep on them, watch out for scammers in Santa form that would will be doing Bitcoin giveaways.

There may be free food but there wouldn't be free bitcoin or whatsoever, don't lose your keys, don't use places that are not safe for your bitcoin, don't allow or give anyone that chance to steal your bitcoin, make them suffer and have nothing from you. Happy Holidays everyone.

For those always looking for freebies i think it's time to wise up and know that there's nothing free even in Freetown, there's alot of ongoing campaigns for free bitcoin by Santa Claus as Christmas present, lol if you will consider the genuity of this then you will discover how many people will be liable to apply and how many people can they afford to give, because in so doing, they will get some weak bitcoin enthusiast who are newbies to fall their victim as they unveil their vulnerable weak points through this, don't get carried away.

Those so-called giveaways happen all the time, not just during the holidays.

Btw don't feel bad cashing out (a little) just to treat yourself or family.

Thanks for bringing this to remembrance. If you realize that the season is more about giving than receiving, then the promise of getting double your bitcoins when you send to an address for Santa or just receiving bitcoins when you submit details that make your wallet accessible will not be enough to tempt you. True, it happens outside of holiday seasons, but the OP was simply trying to draw the attention of people who are easily enticed by cheap giveaways. In this case, it is a Christmas season, and they can use this festive celebration as a trap to lure them as a form of giveaways they are giving to their loyal users or new users who are joining them. Whatever the case may be, we should not be drawn to such things because scammers always find a way to make people believe in them. One must be extra cautious not to fall into their traps. It is said that for the wise, a word is enough, so let us all be wise all of the time.

I don't trust many giveaways anyways, whether it'd be those reputated Youtubers that does giveaway or even this you mentioned in the OP, regardless of the occasion since I never even saw the aftermath anyway. At these times, I would even take extra precaution since all those "Santas" are going to be around. :D

Not just Bitcoin be careful of all types of scams around christmas. I do not know why humanity stoopes low around times of need but we do and scams increase around christmas time. Bitcoin just allows criminals to get away with it easier because the police are not as interested in small scams when using Bitcoin. I think because it is not legal tender they do not consider it worthy enough although if someone stole your collectibles they would have to investigate so I have never understood why cryptocurrency is not treated the same as a collectible at least.

Fraud always happens all the time, but if we are careless, maybe we will fall into their fraud trap, but if we are vigilant, we will remain safe because we know what they are doing.

Every time there is a big moment, a group of people always spread fraud, but for me there really is no free bitcoin and I won't be tempted by anything because I already understand very well about what they are doing, including the ponzi scheme.

No Santa will give you bitcoins, except for a close friend who will give you a gift.

This is a time everyone in this crypto space to be careful, and not just the crypto space but the entire world to be extremely careful because of the evil society we've found ourselves in lately.
There are criminals who are very relentless and always coming up with new ways of ripping people of their hard earned money and cryptos.
One thing you must look out for is the promos and discount that look too good to be true and stay free far away from them because they would end up being a scam and just a dubious way of stealing more from the poor masses and common man.
Always avoid clicking on links you're not certain of as this is one way your funds can be hacked into and always remember that trust is earned and birthed.

Bitcoin does not allow criminals to get away with what they stole. It's easier to make away with a wad of cash stolen from a grocery store than Bitcoins which is on a publicly accessible ledger.
About police interest, it doesn't matter whether a small crime took place with Bitcoin or fiat, the police woul be generally disinterested

These scams are so popular on youtube. They post fake conferences with famous people like Elon Musk or Vitalik with a description that they're running giveaways and if you send some money you'll get 2x the amount back. I've checked the addresses a few times to see if they're getting some people to pay them, but there were no transactions, so I guess people aren't that dumb.

Santa, if you're real, send me some BTC, I could use a gift in this bear market :D

I think it is a time to be careful because many of Santa giveaway can arise with this season. We have to be careful not only with the Christmas scam. There is other way you can be scammed not only in Santa. You can get email message to sign in to link and that can be dangerous. This happen to me sometimes but I have to respond not to get into trouble.

If you occasionally receive messages or links that are not important via the email that you manage, I don't think you need to respond further, because it is better to block or delete without further opening. Clicking on unimportant links or links sent via e-mail where the link is completely unknown to you will also be very dangerous. Because scams can also occur via links that are deliberately shared in everyone's email.

Those that are giving free money are also taking money from you as their product. Don't believe in all free things because there's always the counterpart of it that you're the product of it.

And when you're accessing your wallet in the public, just be on your lowest, remain lowkey so that you won't eye and attention from other people that also know about bitcoin.

In crypto space, giveaways have no seasons and some are legit or from the official developers themselves but what would cost anyone to directly ask the team if they are doing any giveaway contest? I have bursted many fake giveaways doing this.

Also when giveaways requires you to connect your wallet like how you would with pancakeswap or uniswap bro run, I don't do such giveaways, they should require for wallet address, not links to wallet connect.

Giveaway this yuletide season could be turn into surreal nightmare as those scammers might take advantage of those who are fond of free money and airdrops. This is the best time to reflect before the year ends.

Avoid such giveaways that are obviously a scam. Turn your time in finding airdrops to learning new skills which might be put in good use instead.

Such coins generally pop up during holidays and even when something becomes trendy. Remember what happened with the come that came after the  TV show - squid game? The coin hyped up and now is in the gutter.

I think anyone who have been here for long would likely understand that no one would do giveaway for free bitcoin and anyone who fall victim could likely termed to be a greedy fellow because from depth no one would release such amount of bitcoin to them. We know its a festive season so anything could happen but not with bitcoin rather something else or free airdrops tokens.

How strongly I detest the word, "Freebies" because I believe in the actual sense there's no free lunch anywhere on the globe. Something has to give, as they say. The principle should be for people not to be beggarly in their approach to things. When we look out for others to hand us freebies, it makes us lose our self worth. That's the way I see it anyway. I see a great deal of that often on social media

By the way, talking about "cashing out", let me quickly mention a token I saw recently called "Christmas Shiba (XShib)". What the heck is that? A token in that format will always be what it's. People are already skeptical with Shiba Inu and then another comes with a name bearing the moment. I think XShib will end up a shit token and those in charge will cash out big time.

Seeing the name you know that it's one of those seasonal tokens that calls for pump and dumb and it shouldn't be taken seriously. One should always stay off such tokens. There were tokens like FIFA INU, WORLD CUP INU, QUATAR etc that came up as a result of the world cup and I wonder what would become the faith of such tokens now that world cup has ended. These tokens are created by dev and supported by caller channels to enrich their pockets.

There's a dude from my country who prides himself on social media as the number one crypto influencer promoting that XShib token on his telegram pump group. Subscription to any of that dude's groups (he has several different groups with different packages and enticements) isn't chicken feed. You can't even get in with anything less than $500. This is why anyone who wants to safeguard their hard earned cash should steer off pump and dump groups. The pioneers of these groups and their friends are always the winners because they get to buy big first before announcing it to the ignorant subscribers.

This is an act used mostly by celebrities on social media to promote Ponzi Scheme like projects. This giveaways made people believe in freebies and easily scammers tame them through it.


This new Christmas Shiba will definitely get naive and gullible people in crypto currency. They will start with is airdrop on Telegram and then promise its unlock date and possible ask for some gas fee to swap it. Its same thing alround not just the holiday periods and every time there's is always victims.

I don't think there was any airdrop. They went straight to business and listed on Coingecko (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/christmas-shiba) and started trading immediately on Pancakeswap a few days ago, precisely on Dec 22 from available data. Price took out four zeroes at ATH but is quickly declining now to six zeroes. The next we're going to observe will be no liquidity and that ends it. Investors will gnash their teeth in loss and pain and then move on. The fraudster will move to another project and the circle repeats itself continually.

Actually this is a words of advice, some other persons might look down on this advice not knowing that the advice is meaningful, because if you have happened to expose your seed phrase to people out of celebration definitely you be the one that will receive the pain at last, so it's very encouraging for someone to ensure it have keep the seed phrase safe to avoid anyone penetration in your wallet, so been security conscious is very necessary from my point of view because of scammers.

Well what's inexplicable in all of these is that despite the fact that most of these investors lose quite a lot of money, they'd still invest in a similar scheme yet again sometime in the future, you'd think that after their first loss and once they move on they'll learn their lesson that the crypto network isn't basically a get rich quick scheme, but they absolutely do not. These fraudsters would continue with this scamming cycle because they know they'll definitely allure investors, or rather victims. Quite a lot of these investors might even be scammed multiple times by the same team of scammers, but under different schemes and pseudonyms.

Basically, I think one of the driving forces for investors repeatedly falling for similar scams has its root in one of the Nigerian local sayings which when loosely translated comes out as – No one can predict the pregnancy that will birth a king. Most investors have that mindset and believing that once one fails, one tries again. They're of the opinion that the first project might be a scam but the next isn't likely to be and that the risk is worth taking. I guess that's what keeps them going back to similar setup and getting scammed repeatedly. Another force is the type of crypto influencers one follows. If one blindly follows signal groups, that's what also happens because those in the group will tend to follow the calls made by the owner of the group without verifying it first.
