Title: Your experience with bitcoin in 2022 and your expectations come 2023.

As we head towards the new year, 2022 has been a rough year for Bitcoiners with so many ups and downs in the blockchain space. Lots happened which also affected the general Crypto market as well.  Hacks, misappropriation, carelessness and recklessness with investors funds and assets which no one could comprehend. CEX rascality caused a whole lot of issues which resulted to some popular slogans such as " not your keys, not your coin" what will you say with regards to your journey and experience in 2022. Do you think there could be  a shock come 2023 in the bitcoin price and the general Crypto market at large. This shock could be positive or otherwise. Say your opinion on your expectations for bitcoin come 2023.

Lots of bad things but not all of them are new types of bad things in cryptocurrency. Hacks, data leaks, scams, Ponzi schemes, they are all old things. Only DeFi 2.0, stable coins, algorithmic stable coins help scammers to scam more easily. They scammed people not because cryptocurrency market is a scam market but this market is one of tools used by scammers.

I share bad experience and horrible loses of people in FTX fiasco but from now, we would have more transparency from CEX operations and reports. Not all consequences from FTX fiasco are bad.

To be honest with the previous incidents and tragedies happened on the crypto projects such as defi down, cex down, nft down, and every related are put into a hard position. But I guess thats how the market it is. There will be new tech or thing that will bring back the market healthy again. Lets just say this is just a temporary set back for everyone. Theres what we called cycle and this is only a part of that.

Honestly I'm not really surprised to see FTX going to bankrupt because there's already a lot centralized exhange got hacked and bankrupt since 2011. Although there's many articles and people have been pointed out about "not your keys, not your coins", many people still don't care and we will see people will lost their coins every year. This year doesn't have a lot changes, only about taproot address.

Next year I also don't expect anything except bear season.

Not so good experience, but it's enough to keep collecting some bitcoins. The year 2022 I hope is the last year in the repetition of BTC's bearish period. Then 2023 is a repeat of btc's bullish period leading up to the next halving session and reaching a new ATH. I hope it keeps repeating itself and that cycle continues to be believed. Although a while ago I read on Cointelegraph (https://cointelegraph.com/news/100-public-bitcoin-miners-sold-almost-everything-they-mined-in-2022) that the 40,300BTC that had been mined this year had been sold. This is done by Core Scientific, Riot, Bitfarms, Cleans Park, Marathon, Hut8, HIVE, Iris Energy, Argo and Bit Digital. It seems that they are struggling to bear the cost of Minning especially the cost of Electricity. Despite the recession issue and a lot of bad news regarding crypto that makes investors a little hesitant to invest.

Seems like 2018 - 2019 repeating itself.

Unlike back then, I ain't selling my Bitcoin anymore. Diamond hands baby.

This year I haven't looked at altcoins as much and haven't traded as regularly as last year. I have learned a lot in this space from holding bitcoins, I have felt how to be a "diamond hands" during a bear market, crisis, and I have to really focus harder on work outside this space to still get the necessities of life as normal as before. Yeah, bitcoin is also not crisis-resistant enough.

I don't think there will be any surprises in 2023, especially at the beginning of the year because I still feel that market conditions can still be like this and won't change too significantly.
But I'm still positive that towards the middle of next year, things can change for the better so we can get back into profitability.
And as for hacking, abuse, or carelessness, it could happen again but as long as we can be careful in what we decide, we can reduce all those bad incidents.
And I hope we can all survive through next year if conditions haven't changed for the better while we are still waiting for the market to experience a reversal.

My experience is saving Bitcoin in 2021 and selling everything when the price starts to drop drastically. I am not an investor. I only take advantage of market opportunities to trade, which at that time was very profitable market conditions.
For this year, I actually don't hold bitcoin at all because the price tends to be unstable and can't be calculated.
My hope is that in 2023 Bitcoin can start to rise and be able to start its heyday again. That way I believe that more and more adoption of Bitcoin can make it reach its highest ATH again whether it happens in 2024 or even 2025 and hopefully this will really happen.

Not much has happened in my crypto life this year because I've learned a lot about those shitcoins in previous years, but this year I'm just holding and keeping my emotions under control. I am looking forward to 2023 being a good year for all of us who own bitcoin, and I am hoping to sell my bitcoin if the price reaches an ATH again, as I need money for next year. Also, I'm hoping that there won't be another big news and incidents like the FTX one in the next year, and that it will be fruitful for us.

Many can compare 2022 and 2018 and many will say that it's the same. Well, if you will base on the price movement, they really are the same, but for me it isn't. In 2018, I'm still a newbie at that time that's why I considered 2018 as the "Year of Hell". Fast forward to 2022, it happened again but this time, I'm already ready if the worst thing comes and it came this year. I'm ready for it and instead of me panicking, I took the opportunity and accumulated slowly.

My experience this year has not been very happy but at the same time, not that sad. I might be a bit disappointed since I had an impermanent loss in my portfolio, but I'm happy that I bought cryptos and stock market for a cheaper price.

My expectations for 2023? For the market none but I expect, and I hope that the world will be better next year than this year. Crypto market will be moving in sideways. That's what I expect. I will continue accumulate still until next year as long as I have spare money.

This is a typical story of me. Although I have learnt few things about crypto currency prior to this year I was skeptical in investing into bitcoin because of the price. I could recall it was 50k plus when I wanted investing into it but this year has given us who are a little late to bitcoin a second chance to get it below the 20k mark. The year has also proven that centralized institute ain't to be trusted and I picked positives from it.

I expect a bearish start to 2023 and anticipate its bull at the middle of the year but regardless I am holding hard this time. At least 2022 has thought me few lessons

Workers were sacked by cryptocurrency exchange platforms base on the collapse of the companies. Many countries are showing interest in the adoption of cryptocurrency. Central African Republic Adopted bitcoin in this year. The happenings in the year were numerous.

In the forthcoming year of 2023 will be a great year of the cryptocurrency ecosystem space. The expectation concerning on bitcoin in the year 2023 is high.

I'm hardly shocked by what happened this year because I lost nothing from the 2 crashes of Luna and FTX. Bear season this year is just like previous bear seasons, after bitcoin hits a new ATH, there will definitely be a long way ahead for the bears, so I'm also mentally prepared, and no surprises. If the collapse does not happen for Luna and FTX, then I believe there will be other collapses to replace them. In 2023, I still believe that the bear season will continue, and we will have the final bottom for bitcoin of this bear season.

2022 has not been a bad year for me, I have not been exposed to the negative happenings
with exchanges because I only use exchanges for exchanging. I was a user of Blockfi,
I was lending some Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum but when the interest rates reduced earlier
in the year I withdrew everything bar some dust.

2023 in the short to medium term I suspect will be a continuation of 2022, there could
be some movements to trap some bulls but the second half of the year will see some real
action as we approach the big event in 2024.

It's really hard to see what the future holds, there could be another black swan even that will test the market again, there are predictions that final capitulation could happen, around $10k-$13k, but then again that is only prediction. The best thing to do is really expect the unexpected, lets say 2023 could be worst. At least you won't be disappointed or somewhat caught off guard. If we can invest and continue to accumulate then good, because that is the best weapon in this bear market. Continue to stack sat and wait for the eventual bull run in 2024/25.

2022 was a tough year, a year where we had to survive the collapse of the bitcoin price for several reasons and some FUD which was intentional for bitcoin to fall. plus several major events such as the bankruptcy of FTX and FUD binance which made the crypto market even more chaotic. 2022 is just holding on and taking some advantage of the slight hike. and some of them buy gradually to prepare for the next bull market.

The hope for 2023 is of course the recovery of the crypto market, when 2022 will be a bearish market that will not end, 2023 will be the year for the crypto market to start recovering, don't expect much but it will be the long-awaited market recovery. Maybe the peak will be in 2024 when the 4th Halving will occur, and before the Halving the market will usually be bullish.

I would not call it rough year just because we have lost too much value for the bitcoin. In fact a good trader would always seek such opportunity to buy at low. Believe me there are more than enough traders and investors who were waiting for such an opportunity to buy at lowest rates
possible. After 2017, there is another level craze between people tobuy at low because bitcoin
has shown astounding limits of value reaching all the way up 50K+ in short period. This year
was good to make more money by investing into bitcoin. Lets just hope bitcoin will either continue to have this resistance or it grows further

All shocks will not affect the price in a way that causes panic among investors, except those:

  • USDT Tether depegged: just like what happen with Luna when 1 USDT not equal to one USD.
  • Binace collapse: just like what happened with FTX.
  • Global regulatory restrictions: such as Russia or China adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender, which will force all countries to unite and impose an international law to ban Bitcoin.

These shocks will cause chaos in prices and an insane collapse. Otherwise, current prices will not change much.

for me personally in 2022 which is already at the end of the month, to be honest I didn't experience too many losses like my other friends, I'm grateful to always be given good luck by Allah swt.

We've all seen the ceiling price of tokens at the present in this year, and also the deepest after bullrun. Huge losses and huge gains were experienced by many investors of this industry for this year. And for next year, I guess things won't be instantly be recovered or regained with momentum. The issues which contributed for the downfall, are still existing at this point which for me makes sense to not that much. I do more expect wn increase in 2024 because of the anticipated bitcoin halving but a year of no increase is such a long period to wait for us investors. If there will be things to boost the market price of ceyptocurrencies for next year, ofcourse that would be better to avoid the same thing of 2018 downfall wherein the market is down for more than a year or two.

The various obstacles that occur in 2022 seem to make us feel difficult with the various incidents that occur even though in the midst of various events it can be used as an opportunity to increase the amount of Bitcoin as a long-term investment asset.

My 2023 expectations are quite simple;
  • First, the development of Bitcoin can increase towards a more positive direction than 2022.
  • Second, FUD towards Bitcoin can decrease if not completely disappear.

If you've been through a bear season or several before, you'll find what's happening this year to be a very normal thing, it's bad for newbies but will be familiar to professional investors in the market. Every bear season, there will always be something crashing to cause panic in the markets, and I usually call it a “reset” market in preparation for a new round.

Regarding the 2023 expectation, I do not expect much because the bear season will continue next year, I will still focus on working to earn money to accumulate Bitcoin. I'm not going to rush to invest in altcoins or look for trends, I don't think the time has come.

It hasn't been smoothly running for anyone this year has it?

Unfortunately if the bear continues next year then the plans remains the same stack all of those little Bitcoins and don't panic sell.
It is also extremely dangerous to use exchanges as a medium for the storage of your bitcoin, you're at the risk of loosing them now or later.

2023 it's either you buy bitcoins for your own self custody or you find the government and banks stealing trampling on your money in a means best know to themselves alone.

Simply make myself that "versatile"

This would be the key and not to make yourself that hopeful because if you do then you would really be finding yourself to be that impulsive for whatever things that might happen ahead.
This is why you should really be that versatile or you could really go with the flow because this market is truly that unpredictable and there's no way that you could determine
on where prices would be going. 2022 is indeed really that a bad year for crypto but we dont know if 2023 would really be just the same but lets hope that it wont.

2022 was not really good for bitcoin, but for all of us, so if we came from a storm, then for sure day light will come, so let's just be positive for 2023. Also, most experts say that the economy will start to pick up next year, so it's possible that the following year will be shiny and not cloudy as it is now. But, once again, let us be more cautious and apply what we have learned from our mistakes this year in order to rebound stronger and avoid unnecessary losses.

Anyone can be right or wrong about the imminent prediction of bitcoin price in short time period, but if I should guess one, I think next year would be for bulls at the start. See the price of bitcoin now, very low, no bad news for now and if it continues, good news will follow. MicroStrategy sold some bitcoin yesterday and the price fall a little but as altcoins suffer most, the price of bitcoin is still low, it can not fall below $15500 that he fall to the last time which was the lowest price, the market is kind of not bullsih for now, but I think next year will be surprising when the bull run that may get bitcoin to over $30000 begins.

Your analysis can be probably correct you know. Currently the price is low as a result of sales pressure and also, the sales yesterday I do not think likely affected the market as it has been bearish for a while now but however, I Believe the bull run would be after the first quarter of next year if we are to go by the market trend. It happened earlier this year in that pattern I think it would still repeat itself in that same manner but nevertheless, things can still turn around as we all are only good at guess work analysis. Anything can happen at any given time irrespective of the current situation it find itself. Let watch and see how things unfold gradually.

There is someone here on the forum who always points out the difference when you write Bitcoin and when you write bitcoin, there is a big difference in the use of the capital B.

That in the context of your OP is left between the lines but that you always have to differentiate, since in fact a large part of the opinions focus on the price issue, which is always something specific and that mainly affects the pocket of "some" users, as is obvious and consequently the debate for them drips out there.

So I opted in my opinion for Bitcoin, which to begin with gets stronger every year, regardless of whether the adoption items that we always have to measure it exceed or stagnate, but regardless of that at least they remain, despite the fact that bitcoin does not It ends well in the vain price, I think that Bitcoin ages well every year, it gains experience in its users who understand it beyond its volatility, or that is to say, in these times, Botox (ATH).

So one more year of life for Bitcoin is 2023, it's that simple for me.

Well, to be honest, we cannot be sure about what's going to happen in 2023 since we cannot predict the future but from what I see we didn't have a good year in 2022 because during this year we saw much bad news like about bitcoin and we saw many platforms like FTX going down while many people lost their hard-handed money, dye to the price fall and scams. But I hope to see a better situation in 2023.

Just be open to any type of shock that may happen on 2023. That's what happens at most times, surprisingly hacks that's never been anticipated coming from a known big exchange.

So, the possibilities are endless on this market, be it good or bad events that will turn the tide of the market.

Just as 2022, I think that the market will still be a slump year. But unlike this ending year, it'll be different and much better than this passing year as it will be just one more year for the halving.

Bitcoin will change your life, of course it can, but you should already have some bitcoin in your wallet by now.
I don't understand how bitcoin can change your life if you don't have bitcoin in your portfolio, so own bitcoin if you don't already and rest assured you will get the benefits worth it with the quantity of your investment in the future.

I'm optimistic about the future of bitcoin, so I should be preparing something from now on because currently the discount is still valid for everyone.

I have had a little experience since my time onboard the crypto space. At first, it was a loss thing in my early stage then a win-win thing as time went on but the experience was kind of hell as I invested much  in bitcoin then but the drop in price was something else and I do not want anybody to have such experience but I believe this year 2023 would be much better than the last year and I see a gradual market improvement in the  crypto space.

I think everyone should have some experience during this bear season, because only then will they really gain the experiences and lessons that the bull market never taught them. Those who make it through the bear season and continue to chase the market will be the ones who deserve the rewards they deserve.
It would be best if you were more prepared because there is no guarantee that 2023 the market will be better than in 2022.

I have positive viewed with Bitcoin after my life change drastically become better, but facing bad moment last year in 2022 where almost with my investment assets and portfolio have been floating and need waiting until right now. I have bigger expectation come in 2023 actually all my altcoin holding back to all time high price and waiting when Bitcoin come back higher price above $60,000.

Left one year before Bitcoin halving I think not bad have bigger expectation in 2023 for Bitcoin can reach higher price, I realize with many bad news still waiting for in 2023 and make Bitcoin going drop again, never won't any crash moment and exploit happening on altcoin project were can give bad reputation for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency price.

For me personally 2022 was a year that gave many valuable examples and lessons especially for myself.
2022 was when I tried to start entering and deepening my experience in the cryptocurrency world.
At that time I also saw a lot of pessimism about crypto because of several major shocking cases.

To be honest, I still have confidence in investing in Bitcoin and can survive news of pessimism circulating about the crypto world, one of which is because I am in this forum.
From this forum I got a lot of useful and even specific insights about all the developments that are happening in cryptocurrencies.

In 2023 I don't have high expectations yet, I mean that doesn't mean I'm pessimistic.
But I just want to stay consistent investing in Bitcoin and increase my knowledge.
Even though little by little but I have faith for Bitcoin in the future.
In 2023 and beyond, I also hope to be able to manage the assets that I have properly and correctly.
