Title: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero?
Post by: Sakanwa on January 25, 2023, 12:48:07 PM
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

It will be if this questions are answered without sentiment as I'm open to learn.

1. Very unlikely. Something needs to be invented that would totally blow bitcoin out of the water both in terms of technology and economic theory.

2. It wont, because I will be heavily bidding. Or I guess, it can happen if humanity ceased to exist.

Except they are other ways the market price falls apart from losing it to fiat; coverting bitcoin to Fiat. Then, the price of Bitcoin cannot fall to Zero as they're many lost bitcoin in different addresses which will help the price of Bitcoin to stay ahead of zero, even if everyone moved ahead to another technology. You should be asking if they'll ever be a time when no node is running on the network. Such things are what could affect the Bitcoin network, but it's almost impossible to have no running node in the network and zero price of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is now become essential tool for trading and almost 10% of world has invested in BTC. I think it impossible now that Btc price drop to zero. One country El Salvador has also adopted Bitcoin as a payment currency while many ATM machine has been placed in most of countries. We seen many time a dip in BTC Price but after every dip we have seen a good recovery.
Bitcoin will never to go zero because
There are great number of buyer whom looking to buy BTC at low rate and that have place high order below 10k and BTC price will drop to zero In one case when there will no buyer at all. This will be possible only if BTC Blockchain be completely damaged and have no chance of recovery And there is no chance of that happening.

I haven't thought of Bitcoin falling to zero because Bitcoin operates on nodes and it might be possible if there aren't any single nodes running on the Blockchain which we know wouldn't be possible.
Bitcoin wouldn't fall to zero so stop the assumption and start accepting it.
There countries who are already accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender and Bitcoin falling to zero simply implies that the country itself will be at a verge of falling too and I'm sure they will also do everything to keep Bitcoin in existence too.

Take it as it is for now that bitcoin will not go down to zero, other altcoins may do so, had it been you have carried enough research about bitcoin having the full understanding of the role it has come to play then you would have understood better the more reason why bitcoin cannot go down to zero, but been a newbie, there's no amount of information we can give you if you don't agree with all hat had been said about and written about bitcoin you will never make profits out of it or even believe it won't go down, but i think the 14 years consistency is good enough as a reason to get you understand bitcoin will not end being a currency.

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
people might think Bitcoin will be just like any other crypto. market entry, pump, dump, and die. but Bitcoin is different, Bitcoin has a really strong market. if it goes down sharply, there will always be those who believe in Bitcoin and buy it. and when it gets cheaper, it will also be offset by higher demand. it will stabilize the price again.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
it's hard to think about that. but if the fate of Bitcoin is like shitcoin which eventually has to be 0 (although I believe it will happen), it means that there is an alternative solution that is technologically and in use better than Bitcoin. of course, that can be a bridge from the problem of managing money as a transaction tool in the world.

I don't think, the price of BTC will drop to zero because, if you flash back to know where the price of BTC started from, you will know that it will be difficult for the price of BTC to drop down to zero level in the market. Since BTC teams are seriously working every night and day to ensure BTC still remain the king among other cryptocurrencies which will be some of the reason the price will not dump to zero level. I will advise you to invest in BTC now so that you will be part of those that will celebrate soon because, you sound like some people that will regret when the price of BTC hit $100k soon.

if bitcoin becomes zero, surely the state of the world is in a very severe economic crisis, or a situation worse than an economic crisis, namely the world is in a state of war.
other than that, I'm sure bitcoin will not be zero, as long as humans exist, the internet is still running, the economy is still there and is still running, bitcoin will definitely still exist and will not be zero.

Even if electric vehicles sucked up all the electricity so that nodes couldn't run, the blockchain would still exist.Once sanity prevailed, and EVs were banned, then the nodes and miners would restart.

Actually that wouldn't happen, because people like me would be mining using solar power.

Practically it’s quite impossible for Bitcoins to fall at 0. Altcoins case are different and it’s completely pointless to compare any altcoin with Bitcoins. The reason for which Bitcoins won’t fall to this extent is due to the marketcap of the coin. It simply indicates what the trading volume or amount of Bitcoins that is being transacted all over the market. So yes if Bitcoins fall at certain level, it will gain back in price, or more people will buy it as soon as they see a drop in the price. So yes Bitcoins cannot come to 0 if we see in real life.

It's hard to see bitcoin crashing to zero one day. However, it could happen when another technology is more promising than bitcoin and everyone in bitcoin is moving on and using that technology. And if indeed the value falls to zero, there will be extraordinary panic in the market because many people have bought bitcoins at various prices. They will experience depression after seeing the bitcoin price become zero. But until now, bitcoin is still holding up, and we are sure that bitcoin will create new ATH again after getting a long rally.

Falling to zero means that no one will want Bitcoin and there will be no Bitcoin trading. I think for that to happen nearly all Bitcoin users must lose interest in Bitcoin, which would lead to collapse of the network. So realistically this would be a long process that can take decades, rather than one single sudden crash to zero. If it falls into obscurity, I see no chance of revival after that, because if there was such chance, it would have prevented it from happening in the first place.

1. Unlikely.
2. Then total wipe up of the entire crypto market. It's because majority of the altcoin's market are reliant to bitcoin and that's why if it gets to zero, then almost everything goes to zero as well and that means that the crypto market has totally been wiped.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

1.There’s a possibility that Bitcoin will turn to zero value since it’s price is backed by speculation but it’s very slim to happened because there’s always someone who’s willing to purchase Bitcoin on low price before it will go down to zero.

2. Of course crypto market will be collapse since Bitcoin as the most trusted cryptocurrency. The whole market will follow if the king collapse.

I don't think it will ever go to zero. But I'd definitely want to see what would happen. How the market would respond? Will there even be a crypto market after that?

2. The second question I would formulate differently: what should happen for the price of bitcoin to fall to zero?

1. Well, if BTC will ever cost 0, then the consequences are obvious. Humanity will lose interest in this and, therefore, bitcoin will be destroyed as a currency, investment tool and technology. Nothing is forever, which means that even btc will cease to exist. Once. Maybe in hundreds of years, or maybe in thousands, but certainly not tomorrow and not in 10 years.

When did bitcoin drop from $60k to $12k? Maybe you meant up to $15k.

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?

Theoretically, anything can happen. Bitcoin's zero value could be if the network is compromised or somehow the private keys can be cracked quickly. The probability of such events is extremely low.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

Maybe a hardfork will happen and bitcoin will restart in a new chain as one of the options.

Give us a good argument why you believe Bitcoin will eventually reach zero. because it is your fear, and it should be based on something. I don't see any justification for the price of Bitcoin to fall to zero. It would only occur if one individual were to amass all Bitcoin, which is almost impossible. I anticipate there may be issues, but developers will come up with appropriate solutions. Bitcoin will also exist if cryptocurrency does. It is impossible to completely destroy.

I doubt that this would ever happened due to its influence on the whole cryptocurrency world. If the price were to drop to zero (0), then expect every cryptocurrency to at least follow the same fate. If a permanent ban were to be implemented to all cryptocurrencies, then there will be that possibility of it becoming obsolete.

If the price of gold falls to zero, would you purchase it? If a certain thing has no value, then there would be no use for it. Fortunately for gold, it is tangible. But in BTC, when its price falls to zero, then I doubt that it will have any use as an investment instrument or mechanism. There would be no liquidation and transactions that will make it possible for a person to use it.

Bitcoin is not controlled by any single person so there is no doubt that it can be scam or valuless. It is a decentralized digital currency.  And as the father of cryptocurrency so I don't think anything like that can happen

If something like this happens, there will certainly be many problems and the economy of many countries will suffer.  Bitcoin holders will suffer and the entire crypto market will die.  Crypto wouldn't survive if something like that happened to Bitcoin. However, this is not possible with Bitcoin

It is good to be prepared for anything and btc like any other assets can fluctuate in price base on demand, it is possible for the price to drop alot but it is highly unlikely to go to zero, except there are major issues that occur to force the price to drop to zero.
Such as :- security breach, total lack of demand, major btc scam, and a global ban from all countries government (highly unlikely) and other serious issues.

Despite all these can result in the fall of btc price, don't forget btc has a decentralized network with a fixed supply which means there will always be people interested in the technology.

No, just look how many crypto related businesses there are nowadays. Basically these businesses rely on bitcoin for the survival of their businesses. These people won't let bitcoin reach to zero. There is a whole ecosystem composed by employers, employees, developers, freelancers, investors, traders, merchants who beneft from bitcoin in a daily basis. Moreover, without bitcoin I don't think we would have access to a real decentralized currency which nobody can shut down or print more of it as they wished. The trust bitcoin achieved from adopters is unique and it's also a factor to boost the currency's price.

It is difficult to predict whether or not Bitcoin will fall to zero in the future. Some experts believe that Bitcoin's underlying technology and decentralized nature make it a resilient and valuable asset.
If Bitcoin were to fall to zero, it would likely have a significant impact on the individuals and companies that have invested in the cryptocurrency. Many people would likely lose a significant amount of money, and companies that have built their business models around Bitcoin may have to close or find other ways to stay afloat. Additionally, the fall of Bitcoin could also have a negative impact on the broader cryptocurrency market, and may cause investors to lose confidence in the overall potential of digital currencies.

So, overall, it's very unlikely to happen.

if ever one day Bitcoin will drop to zero again it will mean that it has failed its mission, I see it as a very unlikely scenario but everything is possible in this world! I believe that the only chance of Bitcoin going to zero is if a flaw is found in the protocol! I don't see any other valid solution at the moment.

Bitcoin dumping to zero is impossible, the chances of dipping to zero is very slim, because the investors especially the whales are not ready to take any risk to liquidate their accounts. Top companies have their investment in bitcoin with gigantic pieces of bitcoin, even Elon Musk and Changpeng Zhao have stored bitcoin in their cold wallets inother to use it for future purpose.

0 what? Even if it falls to 0 dollars it will not be 0 rupees or yens.

It can fall to 0 in a given currency if that currency undergoes a reset. A Turkish lira isn't doing so well. If it disappears then bitcoin will be worth 0 in Turkish money.

What happens? Nothing. In 2009 when Bitcoin was invented there was no spot markets so bitcoin was worth 0 but it doesn't mean it was worth 0. People could trade it so it was worth money to them but there was no ticker to tell you about their transactions.

And even if whales wished to liquidate all their holdings, in an attempt to drive bitcoin's price to zero, that would be great and healthy for the market, because we would finally get rid of manipulation here, as all the coins dropped by them for sale would be immediately purchased by new and small investors who were waiting bitcoin to get cheaper to invest. Indeed there would be a momentaneous crash in price, but that should be instantly reverted by a bullish tendendy due to removing the big players from the game. Whales aren't crazy to do that, though. That would be too good to be true. :)

This will likely never happen, if it was possible for bitcoin to fall back to zero, a lot of the negative stuffs that have happened in the previous years and before now would have driven its price to zero, the price fall from over 60k to where it is today has become of the characteristics of crypto, this is why we are always warned that prices are highly volatile, so its nothing to worry about as long as you are not buying bitcoin with a mindset to become a millionaire over night.

1. Nothing lasts forever and never say never. There may come time when that happens but nowhere in near future, simply because it's truly the most decentralized, widely accepted and supported cryptocurrency. I would even say that there is a high chance that solutions will always come for this coin, for instance, lighting network was integrated when there was a problem of sending transactions because of enormous fees.
2. Currencies come and go, a lot of currencies in a lot of countries have crushed and failed during the history. In Germany, during 20'th century, the country went from Papiermark to Rentenmark to Reichsmark to Deutsche Mark to Euro.
At the moment I would say that there are two alternatives:
If it falls to zero, an alternative will rise.

Op in the response to your title I would say just one word, Impossible. Drops to zero is not possible as this is not the Luna project dear this is Bitcoin the asset which is considered as the digital store of value and no doubt it can drop but dropping to zero seems impossible. I would like to say that the Bitcoin community sets their psychological support line, actually, this line is updated on every halving and Cycle where users consider this is the maximum drop and they Buy blindly there drop below that line is 99% impossible as the recent line was 12k and we saw it clearly that market didn't dropped below that point.

Impossible about Bitcoin back to zero price and there are not any owner controlling with Bitcoin and supply right now spent on several investor not mine by one person like altcoin.

I think stop with your worried about Bitcoin back to zero, you loss anything having bad or negative side in your mind when investing in Bitcoin. I think you have bad started or mindset when investing in real business because you have forward with loss first time than think how to increase and earn profit due investment way.

I haven't thought of Bitcoin falling to zero because Bitcoin operates on nodes and it might be possible if there aren't any single nodes running on the Blockchain which we know wouldn't be possible.

You said this because you have not experienced heavy dumping before of any altcoin. If you have witnessed something like that before you will understand what op is trying to say. Many altcoins with nice prices in the past later dumped heavily and died off while some that are still trading today are with little or no value. You will say bitcoin is an exception and will not go to zero. But that was the same thing that was said about some of those other altcoins that disappeared from the market and went dead.

One day, later? When? Will we still live there?;D
I think with the condition that bitcoin is still being mined and it still takes about a century to run out, bitcoin won't touch that and it's likely that we won't exist if they really touch the number 0.
I don't like to make assumptions like this because this is impossible in my opinion as long as I live and I believe that even though no one knows what will happen in the future, but bitcoin to point 0 is an impossibility.

People like to tell that hodlers are also users, but in terms of affecting the price, hodlers only reduce the supply, they don't create demand if they are not buying more coins. While those who use it for payments increase the utility of Bitcoin, and thus help creating the demand.

People think that Bitcoin will be worth $1,000,000 because it has fixed supply, but they don't explain why they think that demand for Bitcoin will grow and not stay the same or even fall.

Allow me to apply the word ‘unrealistic’ to your question. Do you ever consider the implications of what might happen if it does? I'm certain it will never happen. If such a technology or economy is introduced, I believe there are stronger forces that control its use and would not allow it to happen after so much investment in it. The answer to your question is almost certainly not going to happen.

Do they expect bitcoin to be worthless or to be the end of bitcoin?
Let alone wishing for bitcoin to go to zero, Bitcoin under just $1k is currently still impossible. Bitcoin is a new technology that still needs development, but even so bitcoin has become a popular digital asset and has great value. that means bitcoin gets attention from all walks of life, both the pros and cons of bitcoin.
Instead of expecting bitcoin to fall to zero, it's better to start investing now, buy and hold bitcoin you will get the benefits.

There's literally 0% chance for it to happen. I'd say there's a higher probability of World War III and the world being nuked into oblivion than bitcoin going to 0.
Let's say it theoretically happens and you're asking what happens next. So for that to happen we'd need a large crash on equity markets. I just don't see a way for bitcoin to go to 0 without a devastation on the markets and for that to happen we'd need another pandemic or a nuclear war. I guess we'll all be in deep shit if that happens so you'll have other things to worry about than your little investment.

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
1. Not impossible but seems like a very small chance. You must know that too many big players joined BTC investment already, even a country like El Salvador joined it. As long as there are big demands, it is unlikely to fall to zero value.

2. Simple, everyone loses their money in BTC if it falls to zero. But with a big community and big money circulation on BTC, it seems to never happen.

If you must know it will be very hard for such to happen because if it falls below 10k then is a new opportunities for investors and to those who have been wishing for it to drop for them to fill their bags most especially me, I don't mind buying with all my live savings to make sure I hold some reasonable amount of bitcoin. But nevertheless, don't you ever dream about what you just think of because I know it won't happen.

1. No one knows on what would be the future, because we do know that nothing is permanent into this world but if Bitcoin would sustain out that kind of demand that we are seeing
today and keeps increasing as years passing by then it would really be hard to assume out that kind of condition.

2. Going to zero? For sure people had already flocked out into other coins or projects in the market.If it turns out that there's much more better
than with Bitcoin then you cant really stop the public or community on that.

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
Then, we'll go back to our normal lives where we don't have an asset that we can pull up anytime we need some cash and sell for it. But honestly, we do get this type of question repetitively and people should accept the fact that bitcoin will not become zero someday at least in our era, it's highly unlikely that it will be zero.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
We'll for sure going to hit our heads hard specially those people like me that have heavily invested on it. But thinking of my loss, how much more those financial institutions that has got hundreds of millions on it.

I think bitcoin will be difficult to fall in price to zero,
just try to imagine and see how many people want to buy bitcoin.
so even if the price of bitcoin goes down in my opinion it won't get to zero. unless the world is destroyed.

If this will happen, just in case. In my own opinion, expect that the whole cryptocurrency market will also follow, even the altcoins market, I believe they will also go to zero, there is no way altcoins will stay if Bitcoin is already zero.
Another thing is, right now we have already more than $1 trillion entire market cap of cryptocurrency, if this entire market cap will be go to zero, lot of businesses will go bankrupt too and that will lead people also will go bankrupt and I believe there are some huge businesses will get affected.

I just assume this to be a dream and even if it be a dream i d not think it would be a reality. Although there is every tendencies that there would be  a down slope but not to that point as you have spoken. I do not believe bitcoin would go less than the amount as mentioned. I do not in any way envisage it as it can never be a reality. You can talk of altcoin dropping that bad but not bitcoin. The market factor i think would continue to keep bitcoin growing and getting stronger and stronger irrespective of hurdles. Bitcoin has come a long way to have such sudden drop. I am patiently anticipating bullrun as it has gradually started showing up. Do not let anything make you miss this opportunity of bagging more, go fill your bag before the bull speed comes up. Just  forget about the scrap that you have mentioned earlier before now and do the needful if you have the funds available. Please, if there is anyone telling you about  bitcoin negatively, kindly do well to run away from that person. Bitcoin has come to stay.

It would be a total chaos because for sure it is because of no internet connection, chaos in our world, war anything that is bad that we can think is happening. That is likely will happen if bitcoin if drops to 0 as it is tied to our economy. Though it would be impossible to make it drop to 0 or die but those will happen if ever. Not sure why anyone thinking of this as it has a low possibility. Lets think on positive side.

Yes, without all these movement there would be no increase and decrease of bitcoin or the entire cryptocurrency at large. Get one thing in return or in mind that if such happened then all altcoin will not survive the hit as well..

Your logic is faulty imho, sorry. And I will tell you how I see it.
If ever (yes, the chances are less than slim, but still) Bitcoin falls to 0, that will be the result of something, not the trigger to something. It would be the result of people losing interest, maybe because of some error we cannot foresee, maybe because something much better was created.
So the answers would be:
1. Most probably no.
2. Nothing special. The relevant things have already happened by then.

That will be true, but that will have very little to do with Bitcoin and everything to do with the fabric of society being torn apart and destroying all the structures that our people are built on. Don't get me wrong I think Bitcoin is very important to the world right now but it is still way too young to have catastrophic impact on the world's economy, the crashes we've seen is proof right?

Realistic thinking must also be accompanied by knowledge, don't just be based on illusions that might lead you to a bad page, fundamentally and that's impossible. In my analogy, bitcoin won't end like that, but if the value becomes zero, it's possible. with a note that humans no longer use electricity and the internet, so the point is that bitcoin will never be zero as long as humans still use electricity and the internet in their lives. I think that's pretty realistic and logical.

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?

Bitcoin will never fall to zero as far as cryptocurrency market is concerned. This because there are institutional traders and whales in the market. If the price nears anything close to $5,000 whales will push it up immediately and so on.

Quote
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

If it falls to zero peradventure which cannot happen, then you know that it is the greatest buying in the history of bitcoin.

It can not drop to 0, one thing is if the wales will see that price is dropping they can burn BTC through different wallets, just send them to the death wallet and supply will drop, and the price should go up. Miners can do that easily.

Bitcoin's lowest point was $15700, not 'less than $12k' as the op says. That can be a start of realizing the issue. If you invest in Bitcoin, you need to understand its price dynamics, where to watch it (I use Coingecko, but there are similar alternatives), what happened to the price before and what happened recently. In that case, you'd see that there is no good reason to believe that it will fall to $0, and also that it will fall to $5k, $1k. It's not impossible, of course, but it's highly unlikely, so you can take that as a way of orienting yourself. You could also notice that Bitcoin fell, in terms of percentage from the ATH, even lower the last time the bear market hit.

As long as bitcoin still has great trust from people then I'm not sure if bitcoin will fall to ZERO price, now the bitcoin community has spread throughout the world and even many of the countries in the world see that bitcoin can be a solution for the economy and finance they are like what El Salvador did, with a large community automatically the interest in bitcoin will not stop and even I dare say that bitcoin will never be ZERO in the future...!.
But if we suppose of course if later bitcoin becomes ZERO then what happens in the end we will all leave something that really has no price at all but believe me it's impossible for bitcoin to be Zero.

I don't think BTC will ever go to zero, especially when many people know about it. There's still a lot of demand for the cryptocurrency, while the network itself is getting bigger and stronger than ever. The fact that deflation was "baked" into the protocol, tell us that it's very unlikely the value of a Bitcoin will plummet all the way to $0. It's just theoretically impossible.

What could really go to zero are traditional Fiat currencies. If banks keep printing money, then it's bye-bye to the value of national currencies for good. You can see why Venezuela's currency is worthless right now. Just wait until the tide is over, and BTC should go all the way to the moon. Who knows if BTC never goes below $30k ever again? Just my opinion :)

2. Let's imagine if it does you are surely going to hear about a lot of suicides on the very next day itself. Because mostly all other coins will die too and we'll see like end of an era.

Weird hypothetical questions. Are you asking that what would happen to altcoins or to what?

In ordrer to answer your questions, we would have to answer more important question, and that is: What's the reason for it falling to zero? Because it won't be falling without any reason. And that reason would explain what happens next.

1. Catastrophic world event like WW3 combined with energy crisis and total ban of trading in cexes because of it.
Sure, you would be broke but crypto price would also be last thing you would need to worry about.

2. There could also be fatal flaw in the code, but i can't imagine what kind that couldn't be patched.

3. Some new superiour solution that's solving the same problem bitcoin does, but it's doing it so efficiently that it renders bitcoin pointless waste of energy compared to it.

Every reason i can imagine would bring altcoins down with it. Because bitcoin is also the symbol for crypto and if people think it isn't safe, then nothing is safe.

But even if it would get banned, money people got from it would get seized and everything. It wouln't drop to absolute zero. Speculators and crypto enthusiasts would trade it somehow under the table. There wouldn't be much liquidity but it wouldn't go to zero.

Never say never, that is, it would not be right to exclude anything, but in this case I agree with you, there are many adherents who will buy bitcoin no matter what happens. I also will buy if the price of bitcoin goes down, and I think that there are many like me. Thus, the price will simply not be allowed to fall, and I believe that Bitcoin has already reached the level where it will simply not be allowed to fall by the big players who have invested too much money in it.

Yes, it's true that the price of Bitcoin is influenced by the actions of many different actors in the market, including individual investors and large players. The market for Bitcoin is still relatively young and highly speculative, so it's difficult to predict exactly how it will behave in the future. Some people believe that the price of Bitcoin will continue to rise over time as more people adopt it as a form of currency and store of value, while others believe that it is in a bubble that will eventually burst.
Many people believe that the current market is being driven by institutional investors and large companies buying bitcoin as a store of value and hedging against inflation, given that the crypto market has matured and more regulations have been put in place. It's also possible that the price of Bitcoin will continue to rise as more institutional investors enter the market. However, it's impossible to predict the future with certainty, and it's important for investors to conduct their own research and make their own investment decisions based on their risk tolerance and investment goals.

It is possible but highly unlikely.  At the current state of Bitcoin adoption, it has been deeply rooted and already started as an alternative option for payment and some country even accept it as legal tender.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

This means that bitcoin will be worthless.  This has a significant impact on people who are invested in Bitcoin since they will lose the value of their investment aside from that I don't see any other impact if Bitcoin becomes worthless.  Government always have their currency, bitcoin being an alternative won't affect any countries except those who are heavily invested on it.

Bitcoin is decentralized so no one person can completely control it. They really have to be sure of their ownership and know the risks that will occur. See bitcoin history starting from its inception. The price of course increases drastically in the long term.

What will genuinely cause bitcoin to lose all value? Thinking constantly searching for an answer. However, no answer was found. What a shame.

We all have the belief that nothing is impossibly impossible, yet in this situation, seeing something like bitcoin evaporate into tiny air is impossible. Given its unique nature and how people are adopting it as another means of payment.

If bitcoin had to reach zero, it would have happened early on when not many people were aware of it. It developed past that early stages to reach its current state price of $23,000, and someone would anticipate it to decrease to $0 in the future. That is certainly possible to figure out

There were time when bitcoin hasn’t gotten to this stage, people were saying all sort of things that bitcoin will go to zero but it never did and now that it has become 20 more bigger than the previous times, the probability of it going to zero should have impossible by 20 times, bitcoin is not going to zero, the demands would will consume all the supply because the liquidity around lower levels wouldn’t even let come close to $5k and besides, the OGs are watching, they wouldn’t allow their investment becomes wash away.

Your second question have been justified by my first answer but incase it happens, then Fiat would probably may also not be in existence, perhaps the world would have change the way from the way financial markets works, probably a new system.

There's no such thing as impossible because on this world where everything could really happen by chance.If we do speak or talk about zero value of Bitcoin then it does signifies that there are other projects
which is more than better with Bitcoin which there's always a probability into that.

It is really just people would be saying that its impossible because it is currently standing on the top spot for how many years or simply a decade, but we shouldnt really remove into our minds about those chances and probabilities which we would really be able to encounter on our lifetime or would be on future years to come.Therefore, investment decisions do always have that back up plans
because we dont know on what would happen  next.

Bitcoin to zero someday isn't possible based on the growth it has acquired over the years. With time the adoption keeps rising than declining amidst the adoption from different countries. The value could turn to zero if we encounter decline in bitcoin usage, as well as countries together stands against bitcoin usage. Such a situation won't take place anymore.

If Bitcoin falls, it cannot fall to zero dollars, but perhaps if Bitcoin drops so badly, there is always someone who will still buy as much as they can and keep it in case the price spikes any day, any time. Bitcoin is not Luna, but let's take the example of the Luna crash, which dropped so badly but was rebranded to Luna Classic, and it could also be possible that if anything bad happens to Bitcoin, something will still be developed to spike it up or to support it.
This is not even the question I expect people to be asking. FTX failed last year; who knows the next exchange in line? The question I am expecting is, given the fact that there are a lot of individuals' bitcoins on some exchange, how about if all the CEXs come up with a story of hacking or something else where all individuals' assets are being lost? What if hardware wallets become more easy to hacked, what should be our fear then and new security measures?

I just keep laughing. It's unlikely given the problem we have with fiat currency and the problem Bitcoin actually solved, but who knows what will happen tomorrow? Someone may develop something more efficient and dependable than Bitcoin.

Why not only see the current options and choices which are available with us and bitcoin is the only reliable decentralized currency on which every investor can trust and invest in it.

When bitcoin was moving in range from 16,000 to 18,000$, many people were thinking it will dump more towards the 10K level. Some were even of the view that it may reach to zero after hearing so many negative news about FTX and LUNA. But bitcoin did just the opposite that is start to pump again despite all negative vibes around.

This shows that bitcoin value to go to zero is beyond expectation and is almost impossible. Unless there is any loophole found in bitcoin blockchain, bitcoin to zero is just out of question.

1. Very unlikely. Something needs to be invented that would totally blow bitcoin out of the water both in terms of technology and economic theory.

2. It wont, because I will be heavily bidding. Or I guess, it can happen if humanity ceased to exist.
If the price of bitcoin drops to zero, it means that bitcoin is disbanded, or Milners all over the world go out altogether, and when the internet is no longer an attractive medium for life, then as long as that doesn't happen and humanity is still on this earth, I believe bitcoin it will always be there and the price of bitcoin will never drop to zero.

I doubt that we will see it going to zero someday, I mean we should have like the worst situation in the world that bitcoin will literally go to zero.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

If ever it will happens then it will be catastrophic I guess specially if it is a abrupt downfall to zero.

And it could really disrupt the financial world as we all know that billions are flowing in the bitcoin ecosystem, and so if it will be wipeout then it might mean a collapse of the financial industry in my opinion.

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
It's fair to say it's still possible, but I don't think it will because, looking at the development and what bitcoin has achieved, we can be confident that it won't. And since I invest in bitcoin so much, I never expected that to happen.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

That will be a shock, and that is also the reason when investing, we should not put all our eggs in one basket, whether it is gold or real estate, the risk is always around us, and anything can happen. When investing, make sure you only invest what you can lose, not what you can't lose.

The value of bitcoin depends on supply and demand, and with what's going on, I really don't think bitcoin will one day go to zero. The demand for bitcoin is increasing, bitcoin is attracting people because of its volatility and profitability. But if something happens to bring bitcoin to zero, I will really regret it, and we will go back to our old life without bitcoin, many people will lose their source of income, but the world will not be affected by this there.

Bitcoin, like any other cryptocurrency, is subject to fluctuations in value, and it is difficult to predict what will happen in the future. If Bitcoin were to drop to zero, it would mean that the cryptocurrency would have no value and it would not be possible to use it for transactions or as an investment.

However, it is important to note that Bitcoin has been around for more than a decade and has survived significant fluctuations in value, and it has a dedicated user base. Additionally, it is the first and the most well-known cryptocurrency, it has a big market capitalization, and it has a strong network effect.

It is also worth noting that, if Bitcoin were to drop to zero, it would likely have a significant impact on the broader cryptocurrency market. It could also cause losses for individuals and organizations that hold large amounts of the currency.

It's important to keep in mind that predicting the future of any asset is uncertain and that investing in cryptocurrency should be considered as high-risk and done with caution, and should always be done with a well-informed decision after researching and consulting with professional financial advisors.

Bitcoin down to zero won't happen, because of the demand to the supply availability. When someone finds it no more valuable, then the other will be looking for it. This will keep the market moving with some sort of fluctuation. This will not let the market of bitcoin to zero, and bitcoin being used on multiple needs. This assures bitcoin will be used in one form or the other, which also keeps the market growing and dropping with connection to the level of usage.

The only way Bitcoin could truely go to 0 was in the event, that an exploit was found to create an infinite number of Bitcoin.
However, even if that were the case, a software update could still be implemented and a chain-rollback would be possible to a state prior to infinite amounts of BTC.

That being said, such a thing is close to impossible - The Bitcoin source code is probably one of the most reviewd open-source-codes of all time.

Bitcoin has survived under so many challenges, the government, exchanges crashing,inflation,social media criticism and so on. Ever since bitcoin was launched, all these would have fallen bitcoin to zero but it didn't,because bitcoin is a valuable assets on uses nodes to run on the blockchain, which makes it decentralized.Bitcoin can only run into zero when it becomes as scam which is impossible to be. The way I see it, the only possibility of Bitcoin going to zero is if someone discovers something out of this world about some unfixable blockchain exploit which compromises everyone's wallets or breaks down the entire system of how blockchain works.

But lets be realistic. We might as well ask ourselves what happens if tomorrow aliens land on earth and exterminate the human race? Sure its a possibility but then again anything is just as possible as anything else to happen. The probability of something like that happening is infinitely close to zero so is the possibility even worth thinking about in the first place? I think not.

Blockchain has proven itself again and again. I see no reason to start panicking now.

There are still many who believes on what Bitcoin can reach in the future,thus investing more in it during this time gives them advantage for them, when people sells many still wanted to buy. It just happens now that there are many events happening in the world that affecting the price of Bitcoin like the pandemic, war and inflations and people needs to deal with it more than to acquire Bitcoin. But it doesn't mean that it will lead to having no value at all.

First of all, You have to get your facts right, Bitcoins price didn't fall to less than $12k as you said.
https://i.imgur.com/fCcc1Tu.jpg
You can clearly see that the lowest from the last ATH was still above $15k or maybe you want to show me something else.

Falling to Zero!!! I believe there have been some other posts that have asked the same question in the past and my guess still remains, I don't think the BTC price will go to Zero. There have been many fud that would have recked BTC and brought the price to zero but that has not happened or maybe some programming issues someday which I don't think will happen either.

Bitcoin will never to go zero as long as the protocol works as intended, the only way I see Bitcoin going to zero, would be its blockchain suffering a huge vulnerability, for example, complete halting or malicious minting of Bitcoin in huge quantities, both are very unlikely scenarios thanks to the decentralization.

Even if Bitcoin is volatile and there are period of times where it losses some of its value, this project has became popular and there will always be enough demand to keep the price in a significant figure, in my humble opinion.

Not all cryptos are volatile but there were also stable coins however not all volatile cryptos are as decentralized as Bitcoin which means they are more to manipulations and it's easy to predict if where will their value head but that is something hard to do in Bitcoin.

A lot of people now are involved with it and has their own hodlings and many of them won't allow the whales to steal their Bitcoins with them but anyway if BTC drops to zero then it doesn't mean that other cryptos will also be useless or valueless. In fact, people will just transfer to them, making their value pumped more. I think this is the dream of other coin developers but they only make it a secret.

It's almost impossible for bitcoin to drop to zero in my opinion and I've never thought of that so I don't know what will happen after that. I think once you invest in bitcoin then you should trust it instead of doubting it because when it fails it won't give you any profit but when bitcoin goes high it will make you lots of profit.

~~~ Only if we all die of planet earth before bitcoin can be zero.
This is an exaggerated statement, the value of bitcoin is created by people's beliefs, once people no longer believe in it, and no longer need to use it, it will become worthless and will become obsolete. Bitcoin lives or dies, has value or not, it all depends on human needs, if in the future there is a new better technology, a better asset than bitcoin, and people have a need to switch to it. People will stop mining bitcoin, stop using it, bitcoin will die and disappear like it never existed.
It won't drop to zero, and nothing could happen if it ever goes to zero because it won't. This is what everyone will tell you because it's not just about people anymore, there are super wealthy companies and even some nations involved with bitcoin now, and those rich people will not let bitcoin hit to zero no matter what happens, millions of dollars even billions of dollars will go into bitcoin to buy it and keep it higher.
Sure it could drop, but not to zero, it  probably be 10k at the very worst case and not anything under because there are funds that will make sure they buy as much as possible to not let it drop anything further, and this is why buying right now is such a good decision.
How possible that is, is what I don't think it could be. I don't know why I have this strong believe but it's just there.
If we carefully study how bitcoin rose in value, it isn't a digital currency that just sprout up overnight or within a little frame of time like some altcoins, just like a strong foundation it took time to establish itself to the value it is today. For Volatility may affect it price to drop low despite it's ATH but that doesn't mean it would drop to zero.  No!
I don’t think that Bitcoin falling to 0 is a realistic possibility. There are plenty of nerds who got rich from BTC and would buy them all long before it got to a dollar just for nostalgia reasons at this point. I’d honestly be surprised if Bitcoin ever fell below $10 in my lifetime for any reason. The market has just gotten too big. The idea it could ever be worth what it was when I first heard about it ever again seems far fetched.
It is surprising to see that everyone does not believe that bitcoin will drop to zero or die. But anything is possible, and the value of bitcoin is created from human need, as long as people don't need it anymore, it will go to zero. But just looking at people's belief in bitcoin, I can say that the chance of bitcoin falling to zero is almost nonexistent.
In my opinion, this is a money-making playground for big players, so it's tough to let it die unless they find a more attractive game than the cryptocurrency market.
I don't think people would not want bitcoin,  as far as bitcoin is valuable and benefits the humanity people will always want it. For the fact that bitcoin is a decentralized currency it can never lose it value totally.  The only thing I think can shut bitcoin down is if technology and the Internet is shut down which is not possible.  People have confidence in bitcoin because their are much evidence to see bitcoin is real and can't be controlled by anyone.
Isn't something like that obvious, because regardless of anything it's very hard to believe if this returns to zero or worthless, especially with the current conditions, with the adoption of bitcoin continuing and more and more people in the scope of bitcoin, I think even though everything is possible happens but it won't be able to go straight to zero.
dips are still quite reasonable but unlikely at the moment and in the face of the bulls now they are outright worthless aren't they.
Bitcoin losing all its value overnight is rare. Cryptocurrencies and their growing financial influence are to blame. Bitcoin acceptance has expanded significantly in recent years. This step has increased the currency's legitimacy and made it easier to get. Bitcoin attracts global investment.
Bitcoin's value also depends on its technology. Bitcoin's blockchain technology could change numerous industries beyond finance and logistics. This is why many countries and organisations invest in Bitcoin and blockchain technologies. Bitcoin is limited to 21,000,000. As demand rises, Bitcoin's value rises. Fiat currencies, which have a limitless supply, devalue and inflate over time.
Indeed, nothing is impossible with any technological development now, but when the Bitcoin developers listen to this, several companies will develop it which will eventually destroy Bitcoin itself. It is clear that the Bitcoin developers will also not stay silent to create new things in order to make security much greater and stronger so that no technology can guess the private key.
Technological competition will continue to occur and it cannot be denied by anyone because any company also wants to present products that are more powerful than before or from existing ones. But for a technology that can guess private keys I don't think that it will be in the near future because it is a very difficult thing for any company to create.
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
Since Bitcoin has a multipurpose use case there is no chance of it becoming 0 or worthless. Many of us know the name of Forex, one of the most famous trading business platforms in the world. But it has been running one after one decade. In this platforms don't have such thoughts then why this on bitcoin? There is volatility here too but relatively more in bitcoin is it the main reason? Of course not. Those who have not yet gained faith in Bitcoin are obsessed with such thoughts also, i can dream bigger with Bitcoin working as a trading tool and payment method. I can agree with others thought that Bitcoin will exist as long as there are people in the world.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
Both of your questions remind me of one of the sources about Bitcoin, exactly what you asked, maybe for me not bother to answer all of that, in short, you can see and read below.
1. What Happens if Bitcoin Crashes to ZERO? (https://blockzeit.com/what-happens-if-bitcoin-crashes-to-zero/#:~:text=It's%20not%20likely%20that%20Bitcoin%20will%20crash%20to%20zero,-Image%3A%20ibtimes&text=Even%20though%20some%20things%20could,to%20drop%20quickly%20to%20zero.)
Quote
Getting rid of Bitcoin wouldn’t be like getting rid of a website. It has a strong foundation that is hard to shake up, even if you are a powerful government. This is because it has a complicated infrastructure and is not centralized.
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
2. What Would Happen if the price of Bitcoin fell to Zero? (https://blockzeit.com/what-happens-if-bitcoin-crashes-to-zero/#:~:text=It's%20not%20likely%20that%20Bitcoin%20will%20crash%20to%20zero,-Image%3A%20ibtimes&text=Even%20though%20some%20things%20could,to%20drop%20quickly%20to%20zero.)
Quote
Hundreds of other businesses, like those that accept Bitcoin payments, lend Bitcoin, or swap Bitcoin, would also be affected. In short, the end of Bitcoin would be terrible for millions of people.
If Bitcoin crashed in this way, it would probably cause a lot of other cryptocurrencies to crash as well. After all, if investors see that the biggest coin on the crypto market has lost all value, it’s likely that many of them will cash out as soon as possible to avoid more losses. All in all, if Bitcoin goes down, it’s likely that a lot of other cryptos will go down with it.
I hope this article can help you to answer your two questions.
2.if does happen,another crypto will take over,but not the end of them or the use of such.
First of all you should know that Money is a believe system that works, and Bitcoin is Money which people all over the world has believed base on its transparency that the old Fiat system lacks.
Therefore Bitcoin can only go to zero if Bitcoin lost its value which makes these people to believe so much in it or another senario could be a situation where the government have to ban the use of Bitcoin across the world.
Anything less than that it would have been almost impossible for BTC to go zeros, base on its scarcity and having proven itself for the past 13 years now.
And that is the reason why a lot of people wants to kill or stop Bitcoin because they think it's a threat to fiat. They do what they can including banning BTC. I don't know if they think they are successful with this already or not but some might only be contented once the whole world does the same thing. Fortunately, it didn't happen for now and let's hope it won't also happen in the future. If not then, that must be thing that will make Bitcoin go to zero.
OP asks if what's next. Well, nothing. The crypto world is over and the majority of people will move on to other digital payment methods but for us who are into decentralization, it will be very hard to accept it.
There is no reason for such thing to happen while everybody agree that the bitcoin itself is something useful and part of our society also used in daily basis. Yeah, we're in such a situation. People believe in it and in some means one or the other will continue to use it for the good. Bitcoin dropping to zero could've happened earlier, because when the network is small this could've been done. Now noway through shutting the internet access or countries joining hands to make an outright ban on the usage of cryptocurrencies.
I don’t think that Bitcoin falling to 0 is a realistic possibility. There are plenty of nerds who got rich from BTC and would buy them all long before it got to a dollar just for nostalgia reasons at this point. I’d honestly be surprised if Bitcoin ever fell below $10 in my lifetime for any reason. The market has just gotten too big. The idea it could ever be worth what it was when I first heard about it ever again seems far fetched.
The only ones who want Bitcoin to crash to $0 are banks and governments. But that will never happen because of the way the cryptocurrency was designed. Deflation greatly offsets any negative downturn in market prices. This doesn't mean BTC will be inmune from experiencing a decline in market prices. But it's a guarantee it won't become worthless overnight, due to added scarcity. If demand stays high while supply stays low, prices will always be on the upside.
I'm waiting for the day Bitcoin becomes an independent cryptocurrency, so people can use it regardless of how much it's worth in Fiat. Some countries are slowly adopting BTC as legal tender, so maybe our dreams of replacing Fiat becomes a reality someday. Just my thoughts ;D
A very must have on someones mind and perceptive on which we should really expect the unexpected since there no such thing about lasting like forever.There's always come more better and more advanced compared on what we are currently dealing off with.We arent saying that Bitcoin could be replaced but there's no way that we can really make assurance that the future would really be finalized or already been known.
There's no man that could ever know on whats ahead and this is why we should really be that prepared for whatever things that might reach us ahead.
Drop to zero? Its possible but in todays condition and recognition into Bitcoin then it is really hard to believe on with this kind of probability.
Well, I'm certain that won't happen during our lifetime. After all, Bitcoin is still relatively new to the world. We may be talking about decades, before a technology superior than Blockchain takes over the world. The pioneer cryptocurrency is open source anyways, so it could easily adapt to new technologies if developers want to. Quantum computing would make Bitcoin faster and stronger than ever.
Given the fact that Bitcoin is widely known by the public these days, it's very unlikely it will go to zero anytime soon. There's always demand for the cryptocurrency on the market, especially when supply is scarce. It has never disappointed its investors since the day it was born. Who knows if it goes to $1m as predicted by experts? Just my thoughts ;D
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
1. There is extremely little chance that the price of bitcoin will ever reach zero. Bitcoin's value has increased with time, making it impossible for anybody to imagine a moment when it will cost nothing. Bitcoin's value may decline, but not to the point of being worthless. There are some things we shouldn't put too much importance on. A bitcoin price drop to zero is one
2. That ought to be the end of digital currencies. Nothing like internet trading and investing will be trusted by anyone.
As long there's demand and recognition and popularity then there's no way that we could go back to $0.If it happens then pretty sure that there's a huge problem in regarding into its technical code or similar
aspect which would really be resulting in losing integrity and security of it which we know that if trust is broken then people would just easily jumped ship into those current new ones
which do have more better features and opportunities.
Monitoring what do you mean it's mate ? because if you tell everyone to monitor Bitcoin from now on, it's actually very logical because now Bitcoin is making very good improvements. But if you order to monitor technological developments, this is actually not wrong either. But this is a very different thing to watch if we are connoisseurs of any technology and can only be spectators to see the developments made by other people.
There is no doubt that in the future, there will be another asset that is better than bitcoin and replaces bitcoin, it's like bitcoin was created to gradually replace obsolete fiat or gold. But that won't happen soon, you don't need to worry too much about it. Just like fiat has existed for thousands of years, then bitcoin and cryptocurrencies were created, and it may take thousands of years to see a new asset class. What we need to be more concerned about is how much bitcoin we will own when it becomes popular and used all over the world, we are the lucky ones ahead of our time, so let's take advantage of it.
Chances are high that the market will collapse if that so. Indeed there are other cryptoinvestments to choose from but problem is the bottomline. But if would look at it at the present, then market prices would show how dependent they are with Bitcoin's market price; an increase would be helpful for times convenient to people. Even if there are options, problems may still arise. Dependency would somehow kill other cryptoinvestment options, leaving investors no other way but to exit from this industry. But as long as popularity exist, demand will still be present which would make this scenery impossible. Let us just hope that this technology's potential won't drop in a sudden.
Even if nothing is impossible in this world, to be 0 then you really have to expect bitcoin to be completely destroyed at any cost.
I believe that bitcoin will no longer be 0 in the future because bitcoin is a currency that is being adopted more and more. Obviously this is going to make bitcoin even more recognized and used as means of payment, and for something that has growing real use case then it's hard to expect it to be 0.
OP, rest assured and rest assured that you will never see bitcoin go to 0 unless the internet crashes completely for whatever reason. Even if you can expect bitcoin to never drop below $5K again, that's still huge price compared to 0.
2. I don't know how that could happen and I can't also imagine the effect it will cause to the financial industry of the world. That's Billions of dollars gone so there will probably be a lot of questions need to be answered before it seizes to exist.
The market will collapse simply because all cryptocurrencies depend on Bitcoin to survive. It's the reserve currency of the market after all. While I don't envision BTC falling to zero anytime soon, we should be prepared for the worst just in case.
For what I know, nothing lasts forever. Either a new technology replaces Blockchain in the future, or Bitcoin dies due to an unanimous effort from mainstream governments to ban its usage for good. We're talking about decades before something like this happens. The last BTC will be mined by 2100, so we have plenty of time to enjoy it during our lifetimes. Remember, diversifying your investment is the key to minimizing as much risks of loss as possible. As long as you don't put all of your eggs in one basket, you'll have nothing to worry about. But i understand that the volatility of cryptocurrency is what makes it unique and that why people always buy knowing fully well there is a possibility that the price can shoot up in the bull season but its volatility is also a  challenge for naive investors.
Something will always be replaced and some technologies will continue to develop, including Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. Bitcoin is even still new in the world of digital assets and this is still a first step for bitcoin. We will not be able to see how the development of bitcoin after bitcoin has been mined. We only need to focus on the remaining times with bitcoin fluctuations that occur. Going to zero is hope for those who are hopeless, but for those of us who continue to support bitcoin, bitcoin will continue to grow and evolve over time, becoming a payment technology that remains decentralized.
and By diversifying, it is possible to spread the risk of loss across different types of assets so that not all money is exposed to the same risk. and it is strongly recommended not to only invest in one type of asset, especially if you are just starting to invest in bitcoin or other crypto assets.
I don't think so. However the price of crypto is not constant so it can change over time. There is no knowledge about future that what will happen. But as you know that bitcoin is one of the successful coin so here is the ability of bitcoin to rise again after the passing of bearish period.
In my opinion bitcoin will boost in cost if once it passes across the time of dump in market. It can reduce in price but cannot drop to zero as its history is in front of us that how it provides a huge amount of cashback to its holders. I don't think that it will happen but if unfortunately it happens then it means that all crypto coins will be reduces and will go to zero as the price of coins are related and associated with the cost of bitcoin.
Large number of individuals has put money into bitcoin so if it goes to zero then they will face huge loss and the market will ended because no other coin is more beneficial than bitcoin. The economic success of large number of cryptocurrency enthusiasts are due to investment in Bitcoin so if it go to zero then economic system will also drastically reduced.
Bitcoin is scarce and decentralized by design, so it's very unlikely it will go to zero in the future. Why care about the price, when BTC is all about usability? If people began using Bitcoin as digital cash regardless of its market price, things would be a lot different in crypto land. Unfortunately, human greed has dominated the space, so expect to see more people hoard the cryptocurrency with the hopes of becoming rich in the future.
At least, Bitcoin is working as intended. As long as decentralization and censorship-resistance is preserved, the BTC blockchain will continue to live for generations. Maybe it will become a major contender against Fiat in the future? Just my thoughts ;D
Although there's no assurance about Bitcoins future but it is really that hard to believe that it would really go to zero.Why? when we do see on the community feedbacks and support then we could really be able to see
that this is something which is really strong and does have that support that could withstand and survive on longer years to come.This is why its really that important that if you do touch up yourself on crypto investment then be sure that you are that fully aware about the risks involved so that you wont really be freaking out whenever you  do face up some volatility.This is why
self awareness would really be that crucial.
because the development of crypto is not disappearing from the market, but more and more are interested in continuing to invest in it.
so I'm very sure I won't believe about bitcoin going down to zero because bitcoin will continue to increase in time and continue to be pursued as a very attractive investment.
Bitcoin will not go back to zero again, and if it does it will bounce back to the ATH. After the creation of bitcoin which the price started from $0, bitcoin price has not gone back to $12 again, the last price which I know of was the last year 2022 lowest price of $15 then it started going up again gradually. But for the time being if bitcoin goes down to zero and it stay long for like one month, then High Blood Pressure will kill people and companies will stop operation, and people will lose their jobs. Inflation and hunger will be very high.
I take all this as a fictional prediction that will never come to pass.
We never think about ZERO because we believe that Bitcoin will give us a fortune and see it growing. However, we can't just be sure that everything will go well in the future as we might not be sure if Bitcoin will stay forever or will die but that was a long way to get there. But for now, we stop thinking about it, we never have to bother ourselves because that only creates some doubts and uncertainty if we are going to hold long-term or not instead, better take this opportunity while Bitcoin still exists.
Bitcoin going to zero is also a possibility but it might never happen which is because the adoption of Bitcoin keep growing every year. More and more people are believing in Bitcoin and buying it so they can make future profits.
With the increase of interest in digital payment by the government, Bitcoin chances of going to zero has been reduced. The price can only dump but still it'll have value as we'll be having buy orders waiting on a price drop to get filled.
Bitcoin isn't not built like the other fiat currency that inflation can make them become worthless. Bitcoin is built in a way that the project has to keep on increasing every four years after halving is completed.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
I think it's pointless that Bitcoin gonna fall to zero, because there are million of big bitcoin investors from all around the world who invest million of Thier dollars, when ever Bitcoin dump little bit thousands of investor are ready to place Thier order to buy Bitcoin at lower, while markecap of Bitcoin is a slap on the mouth all those who think Bitcoin can be zero.
While number of Bitcoin in Satoshi wallet and some other investor wallet who some how unable toh access Thier Bitcoin will not allow Bitcoin to hit zero or collapse...
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
It will be if this questions are answered without sentiment as I'm open to learn.
What we have to understand is that changes will occur, currently bitcoin is very valuable but I'm sure that one day the price of bitcoin will return to zero or no value, of course there are many things that make bitcoin worthless, for example, it is found that a program can guess the bitcoin algorithm so that bitcoin owners it will be easy to hack.
Bitcoin going to zero is also a possibility but it might never happen which is because the adoption of Bitcoin keep growing every year. More and more people are believing in Bitcoin and buying it so they can make future profits.
It is impossible to be zero because of the interest that still exists and also the level of interest that over time is increasing in Bitcoin. So it is possible to be zero if the level of interest in Bitcoin has decreased over time, but what seems to be now the interest is increasing to the point where there are countries that have adopted it for legal payments.
Quote
With the increase of interest in digital payment by the government, Bitcoin chances of going to zero has been reduced. The price can only dump but still it'll have value as we'll be having buy orders waiting on a price drop to get filled.
This is also a very logical and concrete reason for now because with the increasing number of digital payments that have been implemented by many countries in this world, of course there will also be better opportunities for Bitcoin because Bitcoin is also more digital so that its life will be longer and away from death or becoming zero.
Quote
Bitcoin isn't not built like the other fiat currency that inflation can make them become worthless. Bitcoin is built in a way that the project has to keep on increasing every four years after halving is completed.
And this is part of the advantages that Bitcoin already has so that Bitcoin looks different like any fiat currency. In addition, this also makes Bitcoin valuable and stronger in general so that the effect of being zero is very slight, especially since the people who are interested in Bitcoin are very varied in this world.
Check how high is the transaction fee now and how long the confirmation before it got confirmed I have a transaction that took 9 hours to confirm, but check the price now, is it going down, or is it dropping dramatically only -8.2% in 7 days Bitcoin is fully stabilized for something bad to happen that can drop the price to zero, but in this world, nothing is possible maybe a war could make that happen, or if the internet stops operating, that's the only scenario that I can think of but on other things, Bitcoin can overcome it and will remain strong as ever.
There are always a possibility that is why we need to be careful most of the expert says that we need to invest an amount that we can afford to loss, it is all because the market is high on volatility and it is also a preparation that if ever we loss we can stand up again it is not that hard to stand if we loss an amount that we can afford to loss. For me it is a good advice because market is always unknown.
We could say the market has spoken, as BTC's market price went down because of the high TX fees. But going to zero is impossible unless something catastrophic happens which renders Bitcoin inoperable. I think a full-scale nuclear war (WW3?) will destroy Bitcoin for good. But we don't have to worry about this at least during our lifetime.
The only ones who want BTC to go to zero are nothing more than haters (banks, governments, some wealthy people) or those who missed the Bitcoin train. I'd just ignore these people and continue buying and "hodling" BTC for my own benefit. With the halving right around the corner, there's only one way Bitcoin will go. And that is up in price. Who knows if it beats Fiat for good? Just my opinion :)
Experience and knowledge have taught us patience when dealing with market volatility. Bitcoin is an asset that can still fundamentally thrive in its use cases as a means of payment, but of course not everyone can ignore the potential for eventual technical failure.
Bitcoin will only become 0 or worthless when all governments agree to ban all trading or there is a technical failure. The ordinal case becomes a new problem for cases of using bitcoin as a means of payment to a certain extent, this is due to very high transaction fees. In the end it is possible to become 0 and then bitcoin will be replaced by another, better asset. Was that the expected conclusion? I don't overfeed him.
Even government would be banning all bitcoin transactions via those centralized  or regulated merchants doesnt mean that it would really go to zero. The real deal on here is that as long it does have the demand
then there's no way that it would goes to zero. This is the key or reason on why it would really be having that kind of value just because there are lots who do support and investing into it.
We know that nothing do last forever but we can somewhat assure that we might be able to see Bitcoin would be lasting up for how many decades as long its recognition do keep increasing.
We can assume those negative things but no one really knows on what would happen on that time if ever it did really happen. Its better not to make yourself that
mindful about this scenario so that you wont really be making yourself that get stressed about it.
IMHO, it is no problem even if the government bans all of those trading activities and everything related to Bitcoin. But about the high fees, and being replaced by a better asset. It's possible.
We all want to have the fees lower and use it as much as we can. But if the fees aren't going with the feature that we want which is being lowered.
We're going to look for something else that's much better than it. Well, it's still making me think that it won't be replaced and hardly gonna become to zero.
What you want is also realistic, my answer to you is that Bitcoin will not become zero value, because literally speaking Bitcoin did not start with zero value. other countries it is already helping the economy of those who have adopted it do you think they will abandon and not protect Bitcoin?
      Remember that there were many people who tried to overthrow bitcoin but none of them succeeded, instead the others who used to criticize it now just adapted it because they saw that it can help every country. But then, Only time will tell what the future holds for Bitcoin.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
Technically the price of Bitcoin "maybe" fall to Zero like it did with Terra Luna because Bitcoin is not a Stablecoin. If you follow the movement of Bitcoin prices from year to year, of course you cannot predict with certainty when Bitcoin will rise and when Bitcoin will fall. It is very unlikely that Bitcoin will fall to zero because of its decentralized nature which can provide a strong foundation for Bitcoin that is not easily shaken by any party.
In addition, a group of Bitcoin investors (whales) can have a large influence on the price of Bitcoin, their power backed by large capital allowing them to create shocks or manipulate the market when they see fit to do so. Those who have long used Bitcoin as a medium to make money can carry out certain scenarios to prevent Bitcoin from falling to zero.
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
If Bitcoin falls to zero, it will likely result in the collapse of other cryptocurrencies. A fall of Bitcoin to zero will cause huge financial losses for millions of investors around the world. Investors will soon release all their assets because other Cryptocurrencies may follow Bitcoin.
it's possible like you said because the development of science will always be more advanced than before, for that we must always be wise in making any investment, which is likely to always occur unexpected changes. continue to monitor every investment that has been made at any time, if there is a change it is faster to anticipate it, at least so as not to lose a lot of the value of the investment made.
I'm sure one day Bitcoin is worthless or zero, before the price of zero occurs maybe when the price of $ 100 there will be a large panic, everyone wants to sell Bitcoin but all exchanges will close the withdrawal service to the bank and before that happens then we must always be vigilant, Check the price at least 3 times a day, if the drop price is significant for example 20% a day then sell at least 50%.
Gold never went to $0, so why should Bitcoin go all the way down the drain? The only ones who want BTC to lose its value are none other than haters and/or people who've missed the train. The rest of us want BTC to keep going all the way to the moon. It's never going to happen unless there's a full-scale nuclear war (WW3) or the Internet is shut down forever. I'd say the odds of Bitcoin losing its value are pretty slim. Some governments are adopting BTC as legal tender, so BTC will only go up in price within the not-so-distant future.
The question is: Are you accumulating BTC to prepare yourself for the "big pump"? The cryptocurrency is predicted to hit a new ATH soon, so I'd suggest you take this opportunity to buy coins at a discount before everything goes back up again. Who knows if BTC beats Fiat currencies someday? Just my opinion :)
I think that bitcoin will fall to zero if there is not a single person to accept bitcoin and as we see bitcoin is regularly pumping and no one can deny its success.
The very easy way to not sad when bitcoin become to zero is that whenever you achieve profit then remove your profit and save it with yourself and the remaining amount which you initially used for bitcoin investment will still be used as investment so whenever this happens you will have take your profit so there will be no need of regret in bitcoin.
I don’t even think I’m that scenario it would hit $0. I’m sure people would buy them all if it got anywhere near $100 again. Ironically, a price collapse and abandonment of users would make the blockchain much cheaper and more functional to use, thereby starting another wave of development and new use cases. If you’re in Bitcoin for the tech and not the money, a much lower price is probably a good thing.
in fact, I believe differently from what you said, friend, if the price of bitcoin drops to $ 1K, you can be sure that many will be scrambling to buy as much as possible and this will obviously result in the price increasing again. besides that there will indeed be significant changes where there will be new discoveries that are better than bitcoin and more profitable, it is certain that what you say when the price is $ 100 will cause panic and all will compete to sell and it is certain that crypto is just a memory.
Depends on what will be the reason for it to fall to 100$ in the  first place. ;)
I am totally against your opinion that Bitcoin will be worthless one day, as you spent more than 5 year on the form but still don't know about the important and value of Bitcoin, after a time supply of Bitcoin in market will decrease which will make Bitcoin more unique and demanding rather than worthless, millions of people from all around the world has invest million, billion of Thier dollar in Bitcoin because they believe that they will get huge reward and still a lot of big companies has plan to add Bitcoin as a payment method too, So if by chance Bitcoin drop to 10k or below uncountable number of people will instantly invest Thier entire portfolio and thus Bitcoin price will be boom. So thinking about Bitcoin worthless or zero will be just waste of time.
It's true that when your are needy you have to sell your Bitcoin on top but for better results and profit you have to hold for long term.
I am totally against your opinion that Bitcoin will be worthless one day,
However I think it is possible to become worthless, but only if bitcoin runs into some really big technical failure. So far nothing has led to the failure of this currency other than a government ban simultaneously, the rest is not. But the days have been much better with bitcoin although some countries still strictly prohibit trading and use cases. In the end the failure of a currency has happened before so that it will only be replaced by another, more perfected currency.
Bitcoin was created and is still being developed. We never know what will actually make it worthless in the future even though the probability of doing so is very low at the moment. After all you shouldn't believe in bitcoin 100% right, so some opinions are not completely wrong.
We cant really be so sure if the confidence of people or investors would really be still that intact on the time that we would be reaching out that point or something that it is really that too far away from its ATH.
Somehow there would really be risk takers who would really do such step but as we do know that this isnt something guaranteed because doubts and fear is really on that extreme level. Come to consider
on how far we do able to reach out and suddenly goes to $1k price or more? This is really that signifies that there's a huge problem into it and there might be other coins which are flourishing on the market
or some old altcoins which are sitting on the top peak overtaking Bitcoin. We dont know on how and what the future holds and this is why it would really be not bad to consider out
I think the Bitcoin market will never go to zero. There can be many reasons why the Bitcoin market does not go down, but there is no single reason why the Bitcoin market does not go down. Will answer your question anyway because since you asked it here you must answer it. How will we feel if the Bitcoin market drops to 0? So suppose your father is a chairman he has ruled for five years, how will you feel when he is deprived of power. You must feel very bad. Because you cannot accept this defeat first. Then slowly forget that bad feeling. There will come a time when you will not even remember your father's defeat. This is exactly what will happen to us when Bitcoin goes to zero.
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
The way Bitcoin prize is dropping at times, one would think is going to drop to $0 and never to get back again. Since I saw how it went from $30k (if I'm not mistaken) to $15k and later came up back rapidly it got me surprised because to me I never thought it would be that fast and I'm expecting another boost again to maybe $50k (that's when I feel investors would go crazy) and above. But going to $0 it can't instead of $0 it will elevate.
We cant really be having that assurance because we know that there's no such thing about guarantees that we could have on this world. It might look to be good but we dont know on how long it would be lasting.
Bitcoin might looked a safe haven but doesnt mean that it would be giving out that assurance.Therefore,it would be always recommended that on whatever the amount you had been putting or investing then its only the amount on which you can really afford to lose.Dont go all in and never make yourself get used of your life savings or emergency funds with this. We dont know on what would happen in the future
whether it would really be flying out when it comes to value or wouldnt really be having no progress at all. It would be always varying or depending on the demand as it always be.
We should really be that mindful about our actions or the most important is to mind off about on our risk management or appetite.
While there is no guarantee for bitcoin to be at a very high price every year, the probability of it hitting $0 is extremely low. The bitcoin economy continues to grow and develop and its adoption is increasing so much that it will make the opportunity of bitcoin going to $0 unimaginable. In fact I believe that in 20 years the price of bitcoin may exceed what we imagine today, but nobody knows what will happen. So instead of speculating on what the OP is worried about, it's really good to start accumulating your bitcoins while the price is still low.
As cryptocurrencies are more volatile than other platforms, investors' confidence in them may ebb and flow. But many investors can't hold back their emotions when prices fall. At that time they make various negative comments which are totally meaning less in reality. Recently, the number of institutional investors has started to increase and the market has started preparing for the upcoming ATH and there is also a chance for a big pump around the possible halving in 2024. As the demand for Bitcoin is increasing so, there is no possibility of it going down to zero.
after all this years when btc can only buy pizza and now it can buy a car or a house etc., I don't believe that it will fall to zero value, bitcoin is rising not falling look at the history, if ever it will fall it is because it is decentralized and no one control its price but i dont believe it will fall yo zero.
Absolutely right friend Bitcoin will never go down to zero bitcoin price goes up and down, but when it goes down, it goes up again, so invest in bitcoin. But I think anyone who doesn't have a position, they take more risks. Major cryptocurrencies may drop to zero, but I personally believe that bitcoin will rise by 100. The high potential for bitcoin price movements is nothing new historically, but few of them have come true in the long run. The higher the demand, the higher the price, so we have to move forward with faith.
Will you buy bitcoin when it drops to $1k? I don't believe many people would be brave enough to buy a large amount of bitcoin at that time. Many people always claim when bitcoin drops in price, they will buy more, and when bitcoin drops as low as $1k, for example, they will buy regardless. Those are all lies because then fear will cover all of us. No one was sane and confident enough to buy bitcoin at the time. If so, only those who have a lot of money and are willing to spend a moderate amount of money to accept risks and investors with little capital will run away.
Most people will be in fear once prices go all the way down the drain. I doubt they will buy more BTC when all hell breaks loose. Only those with spare money (usually whales and/or the wealthy) will get into the game no matter what. As I've said many times before, the odds of BTC going to $0 are very slim. This becomes even more distant when the USD is bound to collapse soon. On the contrary, BTC will continue to increase in price until it goes to "Mars".
The only way BTC will become worthless is if the whole Internet is shut down for good or if there's a full-scale nuclear war worldwide. It's very unlikely these unfortunate events will happen anytime soon, so let's all enjoy BTC while it lasts. Just my thoughts ;D
a decrease in the price of Bitcoin as an asset is a natural thing, but if you think that Bitcoin will drop to $ 0,
of course that is not a good idea, because the price of Bitcoin will never go there,
Bitcoin is still a good investment place even though the price of Bitcoin it's already quite expensive,
and that's because there's been a lot of speculation that the bitcoin price will reach $100k or even $300k in the next bullish season.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
Give a proper argument why bitcoin will fall to zero? until now I don't see one strong reason why bitcoin will be at zero, regardless of how the government tries to spread negative things about bitcoin and what I understand from your post, it has to do with government policies that will prohibit the growth of bitcoin globally and is this the only stronger reason to say bitcoin is going back to zero?
But realistically that also doesn't happen and many governments actually allow legal bitcoin as a commodity asset that can be traded and even El Salvador has legalized bitcoin as a legal transaction tool. Therefore the chance for bitcoin to be zero is completely impossible because of the strong assumption that the government also does not do that. There are several countries that have banned bitcoin completely, both as a commodity asset and as a legal means of transaction, but so far this has not affected bitcoin in any way.
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
When zero assumptions are impossible then what will happen we will never know, even people's belief in bitcoin will return to zero is not the same as altcoins and shitcoins which on their journey are pumped, dumped and die.
The point is not that bitcoin will or will not fall to zero, but that the blockchain will continue to work well anyway. Although zero is impossible because the measure of value will still be there, bitcoin can still be used to buy or sell goods. If the dollar becomes weak, bitcoin will be measured in another currency.
In terms of value or price, Bitcoin can actually be measured by any fiat currency as long as the currency also has value so this clearly doesn't depend on the dollar currency. This is what makes Bitcoin not easily become zero again as long as most people can still measure its price and value with any currency, because it is always based on the level of interest that exists for Bitcoin which also causes the blockchain to continue to work when there is a transaction
the value of bitcoin or any other asset in the world depends on human needs, as long as we use and need bitcoin, it will never drop to zero.  but the possibility of it falling to zero is still there because if there is a technology that beats bitcoin or outperforms bitcoin, we will quickly forget about it and run after newer ones. The value of bitcoin will depend on us.
Currency failure, have you ever thought of something like that?
Even though I believe the probability of bitcoin's failure as a currency is much lower than I imagined, it should be considered as one of the possible risks that could happen to bitcoin for one reason or another. I don't want bitcoin to fail, but no one can guarantee that bitcoin will survive tens to hundreds of years from now.
To be honest, I never thinks bitcoin would be zero even though bitcoin didn't have any value when Satoshi introduced it. But even then, we just don't need to be so optimistic about bitcoin that you ignore lot of what it is at risk of. Bitcoin is currency that basically still expects more support from the governments of various countries especially in real use cases. If the government agrees to no longer allow bitcoin to be traded, used as legal tender, then the worst risk is losing value.
I also can't guarantee that bitcoin will last for hundreds of years because no one can predict it for sure, but talking about the possibility that bitcoin could reach zero is completely baseless and even if in the worst case scenario all governments ban it. Talk about zero it means bitcoin is no longer valuable and I think it's almost impossible for that to happen and I also doubt any government within the quotes "globally" would use bitcoin as legal tender because bitcoin would basically never fit into the system they.
I don't see anything worrying about bitcoin and even to think of going to zero, there are many reasons why bitcoin can defend itself from being at zero. So forget about that and let's take a look at the opportunities that are available because trying to make assumptions like this would lead to a lot of speculation that we can't prove to be true.
If the price goes to zero of course there will be panic, I believe if this year the price is $ 1000 then 2024 will be zero and it won't take long, panic will occur and many exchanges will close when the price is $ 1000, and of course altcoins will also end and we must be prepared if this condition occurs.
Even now Bitcoin is measured in other currency. I mean, everybody knows what Bitcoin is what in their various local currency. Dollar is only used because it's the global recognized currency. There's no bond with dollar and Bitcoin, that will make Bitcoin worthless if dollar becomes worthless.
If the price goes to zero of course there will be panic, I believe if this year the price is $ 1000 then 2024 will be zero and it won't take long, panic will occur and many exchanges will close when the price is $ 1000, and of course altcoins will also end and we must be prepared if this condition occurs.
This is exactly how it will be. Without Bitcoin, there will be no crypto. Even if some alt coins still remain, they will lose a lot of trust and people won't want to go near them.
People will be like, if Bitcoin that is the most trusted and biggest coin that crash how much more alt coins.
It's not going to happen though, all these are hypothetical.
There's so much money invested in Bitcoin, that's hard to believe it'll go to zero anytime soon. Not even a worldwide ban would make BTC worthless. Of course, value would fall. But not to a point where BTC it's worth nothing in Fiat terms. Haters want Bitcoin to die because it goes against what was established in the first place. I think it's too late for them given how successful Bitcoin has been over the years.
If BTC goes to zero, then Gold would have to go to zero too. And we all know that's impossible. There's a long road ahead before all BTC are mined, so lets just sit back and enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe it will get live alongside Fiat currencies in the future? Just my thoughts ;D
If the price goes to zero there will be great panic in the cryptocurrency industry. It all depends on the method that will lead the price to zero. The only time that the price will get to zero is if the network is compromised. If there is 51% attack and there is a chance that the price of bitcoin is brought to zero, there will be a big panic and problem.
But if it follows the pattern you insinuated, such that this year it will first get to $1000 and next year it will go to zero. If it follows this method, I bet you that the price will never see zero. As an ordinary investor, if I see the price at $1000, I will try my best to atleast own like 10BTC. And this is what other ordinary investors will do let alone whales. So, if the price of bitcoin gets that low, the only disadvantage is that it will be highly volatile and manipulative but it will never get to zero.
Even Bitcoins price would crash back to $10k, then for sure lots of people would really be panicking out and would really be having that impressions that this might be over for Bitcoin but for those people who do still
 see this as having the potential then they would be catching out those price into that particular bottom on which there might be some pullback.This is why it would really be entirely depending on the community itself
if ever the price wont really be that stopping in going down. We've having lots of discussions about presumptions about getting to zero topics on the time that the market would really be having that serious percentage decrease. Assumptions would really be leading into doubts and hesitance if you arent really that good when it comes to self control and would be easily altered out just because you've seen the price
is heading down.
Well, I made most of the above statements with the mindset of a core bitcoiner. I really understand the power of FUD. Bearly when bitcoin was at $15k, the panic was heavy which made many people miss the greatest discount in the recent time.
If bitcoin will be greeted with such uncertainty and fear while at $15k price range, it therefore means that at $1k price range it will be so disastrous.
Yet, I strongly believe that real opportunists will not let bitcoin get to that price range let alone to zero.
From my end, if bitcoin mistakenly touches 15k again, I will really have a crazy buy and likely some other persons, such force won't allow it go to $10k.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
When talking about the future or the future which is something that is still unknown, but can only be predicted. In my opinion, the price of bitcoin will not touch zero, because the most important thing is that the internet network still exists and bitcoin still has good quality in the eyes of people, especially crypto investors. That way I'm sure bitcoin will still be as valuable as it is now, maybe even more valuable. Because now bitcoin is increasingly famous in the world, so if all the aspects I mentioned above are still there and there are no obstacles. Certainly bitcoin in the future will be more popular than the present. Because we are moving forward, not backward. So just keep thinking positively about the state of bitcoin in the future, because what we have to think about first is the present first.
And suppose bitcoin falls to zero, maybe as I wrote above, the internet doesn't exist anymore, or bitcoin has a problem, which in turn destroys the name bitcoin.
The existence of bitcoin has nothing to do with the internet, I mean, if bitcoin dies, the internet will not be affected, but if the internet disappears, bitcoin will also disappear. The existence and value of bitcoin is entirely up to us, not anyone else. If our demand for bitcoin is high, then the value of bitcoin will increase, but if we don't need it anymore, of course, it will be zero. If there is a newer and better technology than bitcoin, I believe people will leave bitcoin and look for something better, that's human instinct.
I think the price of bitcoin will drop from $1000 to zero in a few days, when the price continues to decline and significantly there will be a storm that is difficult to avoid, selling will be carried out by everyone so that many exchanges will have no money to send money to consumers and of course that is the end of cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin transactions without internet are possible, even if your country's government turns off the internet across the country for a few days. There are several ways to make bitcoin transactions without relying on the internet, and you should pay attention to some of the solutions here:
- https://blockstream.com/satellite/
The point is bitcoin would not be 0 if the internet did not exist. Some developers will find ways how to do this including doing it by radio network or SMS. So of course the internet is needed for smooth bitcoin transactions, but bitcoin transactions can still be broadcast without internet.
The thing we have to believe is that the change in technology in any field will definitely happen, blockchain technology is currently trending and being the best, but I'm sure someday there will be a system that can replace the blockchain and will certainly make Bitcoin destruction, before that happens then we must actively follow the latest developments.
The existence of bitcoin has nothing to do with the internet, I mean, if bitcoin dies, the internet will not be affected, but if the internet disappears, bitcoin will also disappear. The existence and value of bitcoin is entirely up to us, not anyone else.
Bitcoin transactions without internet are possible, even if your country's government turns off the internet across the country for a few days. There are several ways to make bitcoin transactions without relying on the internet, and you should pay attention to some of the solutions here:
- https://blockstream.com/satellite/
The point is bitcoin would not be 0 if the internet did not exist. Some developers will find ways how to do this including doing it by radio network or SMS. So of course the internet is needed for smooth bitcoin transactions, but bitcoin transactions can still be broadcast without internet.
This is totally new to me, I will learn more about it when I have free time. But the project will succeed, and is bitcoin without the internet true? Because bitcoin was built and completely dependent on the internet from the beginning. And how will your phone or computer work without an internet connection? I have also heard of some methods of sending and receiving bitcoins by SMS, but all will be complete only with a network connection and confirmation on the network. So sending bitcoins by SMS is pointless if the transaction is not connected to the network afterward.
I think the price of bitcoin will drop from $1000 to zero in a few days, when the price continues to decline and significantly there will be a storm that is difficult to avoid, selling will be carried out by everyone so that many exchanges will have no money to send money to consumers and of course that is the end of cryptocurrencies.
That is an unreasonable prediction and will not occur. I never thought about Bitcoin being 0, Bitcoin will still survive in all conditions, even Bitcoin is more durable than other assets. Just look at the development of Bitcoin over 10 years, this is an extraordinary development. The price drop is inevitable because the crypto market is very volatile and the price increase is also inevitable. Bitcoin will try to reach a new ATH.
If the price of drop to zero, of course, cryptocurrencies will end, before reaching zero, of course there will be many exchanges that close the service because they also do not have money to pay for consumers, what happens is of course a big panic when many exchanges that close and memories about bitcoin will continue to be discussed a lot people and become top trending.
Bitcoin will never go to zero, because currently the adoption by countries, companies and several important figures is very massive,
the demand and market cap are also high, so I myself see that technically it is impossible to happen.
but if this world disconnects the internet then yes Bitcoin will go back to zero haha LoL ;D.
And that will never happen. At least, during our lifetimes. Saying that BTC will go to zero, would be no different than saying Gold will go to zero. There's so much money invested in this industry to let it all go to waste. Governments and banks will try hard to plunge market prices all the way down the drain. But they will fail, leaving them no other choice but to join the revolution.
I'd say we're still early to the game, as Bitcoin isn't even used everywhere yet. Once the vast majority of the world's population adopts BTC, prices will never be as low as they are right now. Probably in the millions to say the least. Who knows if we're bound to become the next Bitcoin millionaires soon? Just my opinion :)
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
1. Not that an expert but there's a possibility that it may fall at zero unless there's some reasonable amount of countries that bans it. If there are still countries that takes it as a commodity I don't think it will fall to zero. There should be a perfectly strong condition before it gets to that level and no one wants to use it anymore.
2. Well, it's game over of course for the whole cryptocurrency sphere unless there are some sort of individuals that will continue later on.
I think I get it when we thought of something that isn't yet fully established like what internet was like way back, there are lot of questions like this and most are just doubtful for a reason. Yet, we are reaping the rewards now from those geeks and believers who continue to believe. We can be those new geeks and believers now. WAGMI.
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
It will be if this questions are answered without sentiment as I'm open to learn.
Although it is impossible for your question to become zero again, if it does happen again, I am certain that all Bitcoin believers will take advantage to buy a lot of Bitcoin including me of course.
If the value of Bitcoin has become expensive, many people are buying it, what if it goes back to zero value again, it is even more so of course that many people will buy it because they have seen that it has an impact on the community and the economy of everyone of the country actually.
Bitcoin lovers and investors alike would have a golden chance if for some improbable reason the price of bitcoin dropped down to zero. The possibility of purchasing Bitcoin for such a low price would draw a huge influx of consumers including myself who would understand the cryptocurrency potential and value in the long run. Such an event might rekindle community enthusiasm and spark renewed interest in Bitcoin potential influence on global economies. Although it is exceedingly unlikely that Bitcoin would ever reach zero if it did it would offer individuals a once in a lifetime opportunity to profit from a precious asset that has established its relevance in the world of finance.
It's okay to ask questions, however you could have googled or searched on the forum to find many similar threads that will possibly have the same answers that you would get here.
....I will answer anyway.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
1. Unless there is a technical error or disruption that renders Bitcoin absolutely worthless (very unlikely) then there's no chance it will fall to 0. For every seller, there is a buyer. This creates the market we have today. When the price drops to $20k because of sellers, there will be buyers seeing the opportunity and buying. This principal follows all the way down from $10,000, $1,000, $100, $10, $1. The lowest price that you think the world would think is a bargain, is probably the lowest price. Technical analysis can prove this assumption.
2. Then it would mean free Bitcoin for whoever takes it from whoever is giving it away for free, for as long as that lasts. It could only be worth $0 if every single person holding Bitcoin decides that it is worth nothing anymore and for some reason hate it so much that they decide to give it away for free. Likelihood? 0%. Even if a major technical issue happens, I doubt people would give their Bitcoin away for free.
The worst scenario won't happen for at least the next 20 or 30 years, Bitcoin's growth is increasing which encourages investors to entrust their money stored in Bitcoin because Bitcoin is considered digital gold. The reason Bitcoin continues to have value and its value will continue to spike is because of scarcity. Even though at certain times it moves sideways, this condition will not make Bitcoin fall deeper, Bitcoin can also be used as a means of payment for goods or services. Bitcoin can be owned by people who have limited money, in other words anyone can hold bitcoin because it can be broken into smaller sizes or can be divided into 1 satoshi.
Increased public trust in Bitcoin because it can store value, bitcoin is increasingly being hunted during world economic turmoil because it has intrinsic value. Something that is considered valuable that can be used as a store of value, Bitcoin will continue to have value because it is increasingly being chased by investors and has begun to be adopted as a legal currency in a country. It really doesn't make sense for Bitcoin to fall to Zero when its presence begins to be accepted by some people around the world and begins to be accepted as a special guest in several countries.
Yes agree with you because every crypto is related with bitcoin and large number of people wants to be a successful person through bitcoin investment so whenever bitcoin become goes to zero then there will be huge losses faces by every individual.
People have put maximum percentage of their money into bitcoin, some have sold portion of earth for investment in Bitcoin so if it downs to zero then I think that people will not be able to maintain their business by using money. I don't think that bitcoin will go to zero value but if it occurs then there will not be a single coin which will be accepted by individuals and also the worth of every coin will go to zero.
The Bitcoin market has experienced several bad times in recent years, the fact that Bitcoin is able to recover itself with the level of public trust is growing. Bitcoin will continue to maintain consistency as long as it still gains the trust of investors. I will welcome the downturn that Bitcoin is experiencing, when it comes it will be the best time to get Bitcoin cheap. Growing investor confidence makes Bitcoin continue to maintain its value in the future, I believe Bitcoin will reach a new ATH after successfully going through difficult times.
1. There is no way the bitcoin price will fall to zero. Although indeed the price of Bitcoin is influenced by many factors, including market demand, adoption, government regulations, investor sentiment, and many more. However, Bitcoin is now the most popular investment by many people and even many large companies have adopted bitcoin.
The possibility of bitcoin falling to zero is very unlikely, almost impossible, but that doesn't mean it won't happen, as the future is unpredictable.
In my opinion, whether bitcoin exists and continues to develop or not is entirely dependent on our needs, as long as we always need it, it will always exist and have value. The higher the demand, the higher the value always increases.
2. If the value of Bitcoin falls to zero, it means that the digital currency has no market value or demand anymore. In this scenario, the person holding Bitcoin will incur a total loss on their investment. However, it is important to remember that a fall in Bitcoin's value to zero is an extreme possibility and is highly speculative. Many factors will play a role in determining the future value of Bitcoin, and the cryptocurrency industry is constantly evolving and changing rapidly.
That's why we always advise each other to invest in bitcoin only with the amount we can lose. While bitcoin has huge upside potential, the possibility that it will disappear or decrease in value one day cannot be ruled out.
First of all as said earlier, bitcoins cannot be valued at zero. The reason is quite simple for this, once bitcoin starts decreasing in its price, people will buy more and more. Hence, it will increase the demand once again, and the price will go up. So yes, discussing on such a topic which is not possible will make the other members confused, so don’t freak when its price is down, just wait and buy as many as bitcoins as you can in this low price.
BTC recently went to $30k, so going to $0 is very unlikely right now. It'll remain a valuable cryptocurrency during our lifetime. Why would BTC go to $0 when it resembles Gold in every way? There's demand from institutional investors to keep "pumping" the price for quite a long time.
While BTC won't go to zero in the timebeing, it will decline in price due to its extremely-volatile nature. You can take the opportunity to buy coins at the dip and sell them at a higher price in the future. As long as decentralization is preserved, you can rest assured Bitcoin will keep "chugging along" as usual. Who if it goes as far as replacing Fiat in the future? Just my opinion :)
This is a good point in this case because looking at the current situation, when bitcoin is experiencing a correction, this is always used as a good momentum to make us have more portfolios than before, so as long as this continues, when we say bitcoin becomes 0, it will just be nonsense. for now.
It doesn't mean that bitcoin will be strong forever, but indeed looking at this alone, it can be seen that for the next few years or maybe a decade in the future, that won't happen because as long as there are still many people who have faith in bitcoin, that's how long they will be valuable.
No one can predict the future of Bitcoin with certainty. However, the possibility of Bitcoin falling to zero at this point and the next few years is considered very unlikely. Bitcoin has a large market capitalization, and growing popularity, and is supported by a strong network and community. Therefore, given the current popularity and use of Bitcoin, it is likely that its value will increase drastically in the future.
It'll be very impossible for Bitcoin to fall to zero, it can dip to very low value but been totally worthless is never an option. We'll have people that'll be willing to buy all the Bitcoin if the price falls to around $100 per Bitcoin or falls below that because they believe Bitcoin will rise again.
For Bitcoin to fall to an extent that the whole community will lose trust in Bitcoin so many things have to go wrong like Bitcoin having more than 21 million supply and Bitcoin can be minted from thin air and even though that happens solution will be introduced to stop it from going on.
Government banning Bitcoin can't take it to zero even when all the government of the world or strongest world power comes together to put a ban on Bitcoin, it'll only drive the price to low bottom. Bitcoin will then surfer major set backs but the market will recover as it always does.
The fact that it's already regulated means it will not easily drop to zero. The good thing about Bitcoin, which ensures its longevity for years to come, is that it's not only a good investment but also relies on supply and demand.
As we can see, it's already accepted in many countries around the world. Of course, there are some countries that have banned Bitcoin, but with more and more people embracing it, we can truly enjoy its purpose. This would result in investors enjoying its benefits as well, since the more they hold, the more the value will increase due to a fixed market supply.
Bitcoin already has many holders, from retail to companies, so if we think that bitcoin will go to zero, of course that's an unreasonable thought.
Bitcoin has been in this world for more than 10 years, and until now the price of Bitcoin has gone up millions of percent,
that is an extraordinary number for bitcoin, and I can even say Bitcoin is the No. 1 asset that does have extraordinary price developments.
That's right, It is highly unlikely that, if that were to happen, the repercussions of the widespread loss of confidence in cryptocurrencies and the ensuing market chaos would be significant. What needs to be done if there is a correction like a while ago is to stay calm and don't panic when the price drops like you said.
Why I agree it is nonsense , Historically, the price of Bitcoin has shown resilience and recovered from the downturns, leading to renewed demand. The wisest is to take advantage of this opportunity by buying Bitcoin at a lower price and be patient for potential future profits.
Even we do saw on the potential of Bitcoin and seeing its movement over a decade due to those charts and other correlated that shows off its performance then we could really be able to tell that this is really that
something would really be worthy to be accumulated and holded up for long term. Although it wont really be giving out assurance on guaranteed success because no one really knows on what would happen in the future.
Getting zero value? If ever this one happens then these are the possible things happened.
1. There's a new coin that surpasses Bitcoin and transfers overall confidence and support into that new coin
2. Quantum computing kind of issues
3. Total crackdown of Btc or having some exploits into its code
and there's even some possible reasons but the above mentioned are the most common one.
This is why its really that important that you should really that invest on the amount which we can afford to lose as always because there's no assurance of things when it comes to this.
oh really! You need to give so many arguments to answer the OP's question, although it is true any "doubt" is for contextualize, but in this case it is another rhetorical question that only seeks to troll the community, these question, they are cases in which... you want an answer, no, at least in the short or medium term, and the long term is supported as a means of payment, it may lose value but bitcoin is not only measured by its price capacity but also by its technology.
Bitcoin already has many holders, from retail to companies, so if we think that bitcoin will go to zero, of course that's an unreasonable thought.
Bitcoin has been in this world for more than 10 years, and until now the price of Bitcoin has gone up millions of percent,
that is an extraordinary number for bitcoin, and I can even say Bitcoin is the No. 1 asset that does have extraordinary price developments.
Exactly. Bitcoin is already too mainstream to lose its value overnight. It simply won't happen now or in the near future. If BTC goes to $0, then Gold would have to go to $0 too. We all know that's impossible. The ones pushing BTC to go to zero are none other than banks, governments, and haters. The rest of the people want BTC to keep going all the way to the moon.
Based on the rules of supply and demand, it's very likely BTC will reach new ATHs over time. It was designed as a deflationary cryptocurrency, anyways. Who knows if Fiat currencies will end up going to zero while BTC stays afloat? Just my opinion :)
Why gold goes to $0 if bitcoin goes to $0? Although bitcoin has been around for 14 years and is accepted by many countries around the world, but to compare the certainty and safety, bitcoin cannot be compared with gold, gold is thousands of years old. If you ask all the 8 billion people in the world if they want gold, they'll say YES, but if it's bitcoin, I don't think more than 10% want bitcoin because they don't even know what it is. There is a significant disparity between gold and bitcoin regarding safety.
But Bitcoin going to zero is very unlikely, and I don't think that will happen either. But we should also be careful because bitcoin is still not a really safe asset, so don't put all your assets into bitcoin.
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
You used the words someday at the end of this question, the definition of someday is very broad or not limited. Entering 2050 is also still included in the category of someday, who can guess what will happen someday?
The widespread growth of Bitcoin makes me believe Bitcoin will continue to increase, at least for the next few years. When one day the internet network is no longer available around the world and the supply of Electricity is no longer there, that's when bitcoin will return to Zero because demand and supply will no longer exist.
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
Nothing will change when Bitcoin is far to Zero, the world will keep spinning, the sun will rise from its axis. People will carry out activities as usual even without Bitcoin.
Actually nothing is impossible in this world, anything can happen, anything can fall to zero in an instant. Gold, stocks, real estate or bitcoin could go down if everyone or all investors stopped believing in them. But how likely is it? That's highly unlikely.
everything continues to grow and develop including bitcoin, so it's impossible to go back to 0. Unless there is no internet network or the earth is destroyed and not only bitcoin will return to 0, but everything including the earth and everything in it.
when talking about bitcoins. Bitcoins are extremely rare, and only 21 million and most investors buy and never sell them. Money from the stock market, gold and even real estate is transferred to crypto assets or bitcoins, and over time bitcoin will become the most valuable and trusted asset in the world due to its ever-increasing growth.
and bitcoin is far more likely to reach $1 Million than it is to be 0 due to its continuous growth and improvement over time.
Gold can go to $0 if governments all around the world decide to fight climate change for good. The "green energy" agenda could make Gold obsolete as we speak. After all, Gold mining harms the environment. Bitcoin, on the other hand, consumes less energy than Gold itself. And if there's ever an issue with "carbon neutrality", Bitcoin miners can switch to alternative energy with ease. It's the future of money, so don't expect it to lose its value anytime soon.
All I see is BTC rising in demand each day. Not only that, but supply is getting "tight" too. With less block rewards, BTC will become scarcer and more valuable over time. Let's all embrace the "Bitcoin Revolution", while we watch Fiat currencies die at a slow and steady pace. Who knows if someday BTC becomes the world's next reserve currency? Just my thoughts ;D
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?
It will be if this questions are answered without sentiment as I'm open to learn.
Bitcoin is now established coin. It’s usability increasing day by day. Many country accepting bitcoin as National currency. And many business institution accepting as payment method. So i think and strongly believe bitcoin will never be Zero.It is just impossible.
Yes I agree with you. The popularity of Bitcoin now I don't think Bitcoin will ever be worth zero. Bitcoin has gained a lot of popularity and is increasing day by day. Bitcoin is used in most of the countries where money is transacted. Hopefully the countries where Bitcoin is now  Bitcoin will soon be legalized in countries where it is banned. When Bitcoin is legalized in countries where Bitcoin is currently banned, the value of Bitcoin will increase and Bitcoin will gain more popularity.
In 10 years, the value of Bitcoin has increased a lot. I hope that the value of Bitcoin will increase in the next ten years. Bitcoin will become so popular that many people did not realize. Bitcoin is now known by people in almost all countries and is used in many countries. If Bitcoin  If its value becomes zero, the people of many countries will suffer a lot of losses.
Gold has been around and mined for thousands of years and is still one of the most in-demand assets, do you think governments will get rid of it? Do you often watch the news? And during the ongoing crisis, governments are increasing their gold reserves like never before. So, the hypothesis that gold will go to zero is really too delusional and somewhat biased for bitcoin.
The issue is not whether bitcoin or gold pollutes the environment, but what benefits the government will gain by holding gold and bitcoin. You believe what they are propagating about fighting climate change? When they are waging war, testing nuclear weapons, and continuing to destroy nature because of scientific research...It's all just an excuse for them to get rid of the stuff they don't like, I don't believe what they say, I just believe what they're doing.
By the way, I'm not saying bitcoin has no potential, no future... but we should be realistic and not delusional.
Good question op, yes sometimes we have to be realistic but not all thoughts comes through, Bitcoin has gone far far away and I don't think it will drop to score zero (0) any time any day because if it's does, what happened to S.B.F (https://www.vox.com/the-goods/23458837/sam-bankman-fried-ftx-sbf-downfall-explained) will also happen, although S.B.F matter was just an exchange and not the same as what you insinuated.
It's all a matter of what's best for the government. Gold mining may be environmentally-harmful, but governments aren't against it because of the benefits the precious metal provides. They are against Bitcoin because they don't like its decentralized and censorship-resistant design. They believe people are going to stand against Fiat currencies in favor of a currency they can't control or manipulate. It's this reason why there's a lot of FUD circulating around the web and the real world.
BTC won't be going to zero, simply because there's a lot of demand for it. The supply is limited, while money keeps flowing as usual. With big companies getting into the game, don't count on Bitcoin losing its value anytime soon. Who knows if it lives alongside Gold for generations? Just my thoughts ;D
Price or value might be moving sideways but cant really be denied that we are really that progressing gradually on which the price isnt that playing around 15k anymore and we are now sitting on 30k range.
Speaking about on its value would become zero then we do know that it isnt something that might happen because demand and recognition is still there and this is why its really hard to believe that it would become
valueless or having zero value because it is totally opposite on what we are looking or seeing into. If it drops to zero which means that people or the community had lost its trust into it.
If thats the case then for sure there would be another coins that might surfaced out and replaced it on #1 but literally and sensibly speaking on which it is really that hard to believe on with this kind of case.
Bitcoin is the father of all crypto and if this one turns out to die then the entire crypto market space might die too but of course there's no one could tell on what would actually happen.
In 10 years, the value of Bitcoin has increased a lot. I hope that the value of Bitcoin will increase in the next ten years. Bitcoin will become so popular that many people did not realize. Bitcoin is now known by people in almost all countries and is used in many countries. If Bitcoin  If its value becomes zero, the people of many countries will suffer a lot of losses.
Bitcoin is gaining higher cost every year and people have strong believe on bitcoin but I think strong believe sometimes become hazardous. Bitcoin cannot come to zero but people should mentally prepare about the declining of bitcoin due volatile nature of cryptocurrency.
Now bitcoin is a famous crypto asset and everyone wants to put lots of money into it to get larger profit but they forget that crypto future is doubtful. To discard this fear it is necessary to employ your profit only in crypto so If there's any decline occurs you will not be under pressure as you would have taken your money on time.
