Good advice buddy, I think looking at and commenting on social media pictures is just a waste of time because ever since I joined learning about bitcoin, I don't have time for social media like before again and that's very interesting to me the way I started live my life, time wait for nobody because if you don't have money, no one is going to love you the way you want, so my advice for new forum members like me is that take anything that worries about investing seriously.

It's a good thing to invest not just our finances but also our time in something useful and worthy of time consuming. Social media isn't all that a waste of time for some persons, especially for the social media influencers, bloggers, and others that uses it as a means of advertising their products and services, only that a majority misuses the purpose of social media and it looks as if it's a time waster avenue for certain persons.

I was promoting a product on one of these social media platforms last year and it exposed me to the dangers of social media. Social media is the number one global time waster among youths and others. Although there are some positive effects of using social media but without discipline, one can waste his precious time on irrelevant things because most information on social media are either false or for just entertainment.

I have always told youths around me to maximize thier time because when an opportunity is lost, it can never be regained. We must ensure that we only spend our time on things that would benefit us positively. Social media can be used to learn diverse skill, acquire a certification or even used for business or charity. But using the social media for just entertainment is time wasting and this habit must be controlled.

Social media is a waste of time and resources but so many people wouldn't see it from this perspective. I remembered when I was new into FB ,I spend so much of my time looking at pictures and comments on post of a friend,unknowingly to me that it was a waste of time.

The funny thing in these social medias of a thing,if you don't discipline yourself on it,before you know it you might end up spending so much hours thinking that you are having fun on looking at pictures and comments. When I realized all these,I don't spend much time on it anymore. Time waits for man,so use it wisely by engaging yourself in what will add value to you.

People surf the Web or social media for various purpose. Yeah, for someone like yourself @OP and very much me, it's  a typical waste of my time but there are those who don't see it that way. Besides, they've got such hours to spare and one can't go about working or being engaging in what would earn him money all through life. OP, well said. But do you believe that the current transitional trend in today's world can cause people to divert their attention away from social media? I can only say that it can be reduced to a bare minimum but not completely stopped. Those who have experienced this type of scenario are mostly unproductive and could spend the entire day on social media viewing and following other people's success and trends. In my opinion, such people require total rehabilitation.

Op, you're making money from social Media. Instead of advocating people from social media, encourage them to use the social media for their gain and make cash from it. For me I do my businesses online and make my money here, when people see me pressing my phone always, they think am not a serious person. The world is changing and we have to develop ourselves to be part of it. Social media has changed so many people from grass to grace, for those that ultilise it.

Life doesn't have to revolve around making money; social media can be used in moderation for communication, information, and entertainment purposes. Unfortunately, it's not easy to contain yourself from overusing social media; I continuously catch myself killing way too much time on them. One of my largest regrets is not taking advantage of the free time I had during the Covid-19 quarantines. Free time was almost infinite, and I spent most of it watching TV series and movies when I could have started learning a new foreign language or taking up a hobby. The most productive thing I did was rejoin BitcoinTalk and cryptocurrencies, and I'm thankful for it.

Watching pictures and videos on social media during spare time isn't bad. It only becomes a problem when it start showing signs of addiction, If i must spend my time on social Media it should be paying for every time i visit it. It must not be heavy pay but it should be enough to pay for every data spent and pay for subscriptions if needed.

It depends on how you use social networks, many people can make money from social networks and even have a desirable passive income. Social media is not a time-wasting tool, you are wasting your time. In life and in every activity of man kine we believe in work with time but most people don't take it serious,they forget that they say that time is money.

Not that I'm against people saying social media is a thief of time, but realistically saying there's nothing like a total waste of time. People might see you on social media looking pictures, reading comments and other stuffs, but I put it to you that you've achieved something directly or indirectly. There are knowledgeable posts on social media, people get motivated on social media by seeing intriguing stories, people learn. We shouldn't conclude on seeing someone wasting time because you're not visibly seeing what he/she is doing. After all, Doing something without innovation is time wasting.

Time is of immense importance in life. So if the work of time is not done on time then there is nothing to do but regret later. We basically waste most of our time on various social media where we waste our precious time watching various funny videos or other content. We never think about our future. Where is our future going from now if we value time and do the work of time then at some point in future we will be proud of ourselves. Although I agree that time is so valuable that we should spend it wisely, I also think that, sometimes, we need to make ourselves be a human - a human that gets tired so the only resort after having an exhausted day is to spend time on social media. Going with social media, and scrolling all time there sure is a lot of time being wasted. But it's fun actually when you don't have anything to do, it's difficult to avoid doing that. For me, when I'm on my rest day and break times, I can't attain to stop doing that as it's like entertainment that's making me happy but I don't compromise those important things that I do like learning a new skill, keep invested and saving as well.

Many people these days waste their precious time on social media and have no idea how much harm they are doing to them.  It is very threatening to a country, a nation and a youth.  Always use your time wisely.  One should think about one's life instead of looking at other's pictures on social media for hours and commenting on them. One should make one's life more productive and lead life intelligently. And to lead life intelligently you must have a satsang. So  One should always follow intelligent people and lead life by following them. Also should earn proper means for one's life and family functioning and save some money from it for future.

One thing about life is that the time we spend can't be restored back that is why we need to be very conscious on what we do with our life because time wasted in life can never be restored back. Everyday as the time counts in life we don't get any younger. In life everyone has a purpose and and assignments,  if time is not been use very well one will loose so many opportunities in life. It is important for everyone to make their time counts as they exist.

You need to understand that there are people that are making money from the social media you are disliking.
Making money can be in a random way and if we know how to go about our style of making money, we are not going to have problems and people might see us like we don't make money from the social media but we are making money just like some celebrities on Tiktok making money by posting videos and doing life section.

If you are the type of person that have the knowledge of politics and you invest in it, I believe you will become a great man or woman in the future because politicians are among the wealthy people in the world today because they use their opportunity to invest in politics that made them to be in such position.

Spending time in some things that will add value to your life and your family in the future is very important to achieve but before you spend such time in those things, try to carry out some personal research to know if it will be profitable in the future or not before embarking on such things in the society.

I don't use social media at all so I've never been close to being addicted. I don't have facebook, twitter, instagram or anything else. The only thing I use is youtube, but there's a lot of nice content there, like podcasts and channels that tell honest news. Since I avoid mainstream media, this is the place I take my daily news from. I'm not even going to start about some very good channels about bitcoin that you can find on youtube.

As for managing your time, I find it really hard now that I have to take care of my daughter, but the time you spend with your children is never wasted, even if you feel tired afterwards.
What matters is to do things that satisfy you. You can have the best paying job and hate it, so don't be greedy, don't overwork yourself and spend time with your family.

I see no valid reason why someone will leave social media, social media is mostly for the fun and it's best sometimes you don't over stress yourself with work and forgetting to have fun. Every grown up man you see today will definitely work to earn money and not everyone you see on social media are jobless and lazy, this argument is not necessary cause I have seen people who advertise their business using social platforms, people make morning from social platforms, it's either their account are verified and they get paid monthly or weekly or they benefit for marketing their goods. In the digital market age social media has contributed a lot.

We are living in the modern age, our society is gradually becoming digital in every aspect. People now see the world at their in hand, nowadays many people are attracted to social media with the touch of modernity and it is increasing day by day. People don't even understand how people are wasting their precious time on social media, especially it is spreading more in the young society. I am not forbidding you to stay off social media.  But what you can do is to control its use, by setting specific times that this is the time I will use social media. If a person is using social media for information and earning, it is okay, but if social media is consuming too much of his time then it is a problem.

In this time of inflation, saving every penny is important. Very well said ;D lots of people spend more time on social media commenting on other people’s lives without looking at their own. What’s worse is that the very same people who don’t have anything else better to do spend their time hating on other people instead of trying to work on themselves and maybe get their life together. This is why the internet will and should never be taken seriously. A lot of people on it are fakes and hypocrites.

My brother, you are very correct on this note. The entire world as is created by God is cast in the form of various activities to be taken place. It is a world of work set up to enable everyone to get involved in the production of goods and services to earn a living.
Therefore, whatever activities one is engaging that is not geared towards procurement of incomes is at risk. It would lead to his/ her poverty and hardship in the society.
That doesn't mean that one should not engage in social media commentaries, but should be the one that would generate knowledge for further exploits for wealth generation.

OP just said what's the common thing that everyone does. While there are people still that don't spend their time in social medias but this is the era where boredom strikes easily to people.

It is the way to go, you do something meaningful to yourself and you're the one to benefit from it. If you want to get entertained, social media is the place but it's not the only one that we can go to if we want more of it.

This post reminded me time pasts when I had most of my leisure time spent on the YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and the rest of the social media all just having fun and chatting with people without profitably accounted instead I spends my money for Internet subscriptions and my time on just having funs and wasting the potential values my devices can offer.

I was so comfortable on the media while amidst of friends who're also busy with their laptops and phones but on a remote job, some are into online trading and digital marketing While I was just so ignorant that I was wasting my precious time that's supposed to be productive toe but I was having them wasted all just funs.
Meanwhile some good friends of mine where asking to get me introduced into one of the system that would earn me money since I've the ability to mostly be with my mobile devices but I was ignorant to them all

While time goes by, I keep asking myself that why can't I use this same mobile operative energy to be lucrative to any functions that'd bring me profits.

The Internet is a place where money can be generated but people are carried way by the things they see on the Internet,  they do thing on the Internet that will not be of any benefit for them. I think the Internet makes people to forget that they need to work for money. People give so much attention to the Internet,  when they have so much problem to solve with money. There are people that are really wasting there time but are not aware even in relationships.
It is good when we try to know our value so that we don't deceive ourselves thinking we worth more in the society.
