Summing up the Bitcointalk Awards 2022 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5422131), I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who took part in the voting, as well as to everyone who supported this initiative. Congratulations to all the winners (we have thirty winners this year) and thank you to everyone who continues to make Bitcointalk better.

Year after year we repeat that public recognition is the most prestigious award, but we also want to give the winners modest prizes sponsored by 🦊 Betnomi and Cryptios. All the winners will be sent some bitcoins and those of you who won first place will receive a Custom Cold Wallet (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406852.msg61232337#msg61232337) and a collectible item in addition (to everyone who believes that their privacy will not be violated and those in whose countries international delivery works).

  • Prize distribution [more details can be found [here] (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/136AP78-ooBgkT84RfnpvaVginJwYPH4l2fL2_pVnaLI/edit?usp=sharing)].

Statistics:
  • this year we had 166 unique users nominated for 10 categories. Excepting them, some were also nominated as being event or fail of the year Oo
  • the greatest number of nominations received by a user was 87
  • the biggest difference between a first place and a second place was 62 votes
  • franky1 tried to abuse the system, by meriting 2 of those who nominated him as antihero, in order to have less votes at this category (facepalm)
  • some users had their votes denied for breaking the "no-merit rule" (such examples are minerjones, which has 2 votes unaccounted, for giving merits to those nominating him (link 1, link 2) or ChiBitCTy, which has one vote denied, for same reason (link))
  • votes of Atikah92, BTC_Mouse, burugcrypto, PaperWallet, Popkon6, halim50_ and Rbolisna were not counted, as they have less than 50 merits
  • 5 votes for satoshi, 4 for Lauda and 1 for asu were also not counted, due to their inactivity
  • some mentions of event / fail of the year were also not counted, as they written with words which did not make any sense ("FAILED TO EARN AND HOLD 1btc", "Situacin Actual", "Cancel Culture on social media", "Some exchanges are at war", "Get Your Funds Out of Exchange", "BUY THE DIP AND HODL")
  • some votes for nominees which had their name written wrong were merged together (Lafu & Lafu01, Majestic_milf & Majestic_miff, The Sceptical Chymist & The Pharmacist, Timelord2067 & TimeLord, fillippone & Phillippone etc.)

I would appreciate it if the winners would post their bitcoin addresses here.

I will process payments by Monday (or when I have a complete list)  ;)

LOL.  I didn't even realize the bitcointalk Youtube channel got any votes for Failure of the Year.  Ouch.

A'ight I didn't want votes or to win anything, but I'm no sucker and will gratefully accept my 3rd place win:

Congrats to all the winners!  It was a shitty year overall, but at least this contest was some fun.

Congratulations to all the winners, this contest never disappoints in bringing the community together, and this one didn't too. Well Done icopress and GazetaBitcoin for the seamless organization of this Bitcointalk award show yet again. Great gesture from the sponsors as well: Betnomi and Cryptios, to add rewards to it. Thank you all.

I know some of the first place winners woudn't accept the physical items they've won for privacy reasons, it is what it is, and as Bitcoiners it is completely understandable, but it is great there's a Bitcoin reward, and of course no problem about privacy violation on that one (part of the reason we love Bitcoin eh ;D). Cheers guys!

Thank you icopress and GazetaBitcoin, last years award had the most unbiased voting process since three years. Everything went smoothly. Congratulations to all the winners. Well deserved. I see we have some winners again from the same category as the previous year, maybe we should have an award for two-time bitcointalk award winners  :D

Finally, we can see a list of some of the winners of this bitcointalk community award contest. We appreciate and appreciate what GazetaBitcoin and icopress are doing, as well as the sponsors to support this event.

Once again congrats to the winners the community voted for the nominees by their votes meaning that they are very enthusiastic about this way.

But is this event really going to happen every year?
Just want to know. :D

Great event, nice to see so many different winners! Well deserved to you all and finally jayce takes home the craft master category - can't think of anyone who deserves it more. I bet I don't only speak for myself when I say that a lot of campaigns/promos and similar here on bitcointalk would not run without your amazing graphics jayce.

Thank you to organizers, apologies for not getting my votes in but looking at the totals it would have made no difference.

Please give my winnings to jayce, he deserves it :)

Congrats to all the winners and runners up! I hope we can see some new people in the future because the same names are on there from last years. Maybe a way of not removing votes for these members but only counting 1/2 of a point for each vote? We might get some new members that were runners up and unlucky because of popularity.

Congrats to the other 29 winners!

Thanks @icopress, @GazetaBitcoin, @Cyrus, @Sorsis, Betnomi and Cryptios!

I can't accept the physical prizes, but I'll happily take the BTC: bc1q2yz2gmgt9yz2z0rl2r72tdlfany5uqs397996a :)

This award (really) means a lot to me, and I hope I can find ways to add value to the forum for many years to come. Thanks, everyone!

Wow, great list and I guess it took some effort and time to count all votes.  :D
Congratulations to all winners!

I've presented the result already in our German topic here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5422351.msg61694601#msg61694601) as citb0in from our local board has won a small prize in "Discovery of the year".
Maybe you could correct his name, looks like a small typo in his name:

citb0oin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3491915)

Many thanks @icopress and @GazetaBitcoin for managing our 2022 Bitcointalk Community Awards and Betnomi + Cryptios for a very generous sponsorship!
I'm already looking forward to our next round.  :)

As 1miau have written already im happy to read that one of our Local Board ( citb0in ) has made it to the 3rd place in "Discovery of the year"
Saddly it was not possible for me to get a spot in the 2 categories i was nominated , but to be on the List is already a honor and maybe next year i have a chance.

Congrats to @icopress and @GazetaBitcoin for an awesome Contest , i looking forward to next year !

[Results 2022] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆
Congratulations to all the winning participants in this great contest.
All the winners selected by category in my opinion deserve the award. But there was one that made me smile when I saw Foxpup who was selected in the Miss Bitcointalk category. Really interesting.

My appreciation to icopress as the owner of innovation in making this contest.

Hopefully this year (2023) there will be new things that bring a lot of innovation.
Congratulations to everyone.

Oh my goodness, I was close to have a place. Seriously there are no point to have Miss bitcointalk category anymore. We don't know anyone's true gender. A nick is not enough to judge the sex of a user. Hero of Good, Golden Feather, Bitcointalk Ninja, Bitcoin Geek, Discovery of the Year, Craft Master, Antihero, Event of the Year, Fail of the Year are some well deserved categories.

I can imagine it's a lot of work for team GazetaBitcoin and icopress. They deserve applaud, perhaps some recognition too only because hosting the event and volunteering for it.

Overall it's fun to see this event for last few years. Congratulations to the winners.

The price is a way to encourage you to continue with your good work and your tired less effort in the community is noticed by forum members. Those other people who didn't get a price due to the low vote count, don't be discouraged, you are still recognized and don't be discouraged, maybe next time you might fall in the prize positions.
Keep it up everyone.  @Ico press and @GazetaBitcoin,you the men

Congratulations LoyceV. I would vote for the last two titles.
You should use of the this two. One world cup is more important than seven ballon d'Or's to Messi.
One World Cup title ended the Messi Vs. Ronaldo Debate. Golden Feather 2021 should be your main priority. That's just my personal opinion. Rest is in your hand. Congratulations to everyone else who won the community awards!

I'd also like to congratulate all winners! Chapeau!

I thank to icopress for his determination in (1) creating this event, (2) reiterating it in the second year, no matter the struggles his country faces and (3) managing to hold the event for the third consecutive year! Those who did not create topics with complex BBCodes have no idea how much it takes just to create the topics he created for the contest. Even to modify them takes a lot...

I thank to everybody which was involved by any mean in organizing the event. I also thank to all which showed their support and asked if we need help. Much appreciated!

I thank to all participants and, as a consolation for those which were not able to participate due to eligibility rules I will say this as encouragement: there is enough time to earn 50 merits until next iteration of the event! Bo good forum contributors and I am sure that many of you will be eligible. One example which just comes in my mind now is the case of Gladitorcomeback (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5422131.msg61325247#msg61325247), which had less than 50 merits when he voted (he had 16 merits). Yet, in just two months, when the topic was locked, he managed to earn no less than 62 merits, thus his vote became eligible! See? It's possible!

I also thank to all which came with suggestions and feedback. Their thoughts were very valuable and improved the event from year to year.

I see we have some winners again from the same category as the previous year, maybe we should have an award for two-time bitcointalk award winners  :D

That's an interesting idea. Maybe we can make a nomination for those which succeeded that, like there is a position inside some companies named Honorary Chairman... Like a sign of recognition.

last years award had the most unbiased voting process since three years. Everything went smoothly.

I am very glad to hear that. It means the new (and enforced :p) rules enhanced the process.

I hope we can see some new people in the future because the same names are on there from last years. Maybe a way of not removing votes for these members but only counting 1/2 of a point for each vote? We might get some new members that were runners up and unlucky because of popularity.

There was a debate inside Discussion topic, from post 368 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5277804.msg61259260#msg61259260) to 423 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5277804.msg61320388#msg61320388):

We were also curious about how users feel about implementing a rule which would give chances to more people to win. What we were thinking about is the following: to arrange things thus the winner of a category cannot be the same person from previous contests. Or he can be, as this does not mean a ban -- but he can be with more efforts. To be more precise, all previous winners could start with a coefficient of 0.8. Attention! -- this happens only regarding the previously won category!

For example: Alice won last year in the ScamBuster category.

- For other categories, her vote strength is 1.
- For the ScamBuster category, the power of the votes given for it is 0.8.

If even with this 0.8 vote strength Alice is still this year's winner of ScamBuster category, then she will be declared winner again, no matter what.

This rule, if it'll be adopted, may add some variety. Please let us know your opinions.

The outcome was this: absolutely all which offered their feedback were against this idea Oo

is this event really going to happen every year?

Hopefully :) So far it was held three years in a row :)

But there was one that made me smile when I saw Foxpup who was selected in the Miss Bitcointalk category. Really interesting.

Why is that?  :D

I can imagine it's a lot of work for team GazetaBitcoin and icopress. They deserve applaud, perhaps some recognition too only because hosting the event and volunteering for it.

Thank you for the kind words. One mention though, you should have phrased "team icopress and GazetaBitcoin". icopress made the master plan and he recruited me :p

Once again, congratulations to all winners that came out of this event! Not only the community spoke once again but the fact that some winners are the same that last year really shows that winning the prize didn't deter them to continuously give even more to the forum and evolve as an individual, be it in helping others with issues or voicing their opinion in the numerous debates that we have over the year. It's a great sign that we also got some new names in the awards (looking at you PowerGlove), it gives me hope that in the coming years we'll see perhaps a more diversified range of users taking the awards (showing that we are still able to attract users that really want to contribute in a positive and organic way to our forum).

Sadly I didn't took part into the voting section since I wasn't very active in the last year (due to personal reasons), but I intend to take part in the next one! Last but not the least, thank you for the dedication and time put into running this event and also by sponsoring it with extra goodies (looking at you icopress, Cyrus, GazetaBitcoin, Cryptios and Betnomi)!

First of all, thank you icopress, GazetaBitcoin, Cyrus, sorsis, and Cryptios for making this happen for the 3rd time. It definitely encourages people to recognize each other especially to those who contributing much for the forum. And I personally thank you to everyone who supported and voted me, not only for this season, but also in the previous ones. Even if I didn't win, I still feel grateful can be recognized by people here.

Great event, nice to see so many different winners! Well deserved to you all and finally jayce takes home the craft master category - can't think of anyone who deserves it more. Please give my winnings to jayce, he deserves it :)

Thank you very much for your support Hhampuz! But even if you win it, I don't mind at all as I'm fully aware of your efforts and innovations as a campaign manager. You often enlightened me with your ideas and your patience is a top level when I got stuck. It's a great pleasure to work with you sir!

And thank you for your generous gesture Hhampuz, but I don't think that I deserve it. You are doing a great work for the forum and you deserve a prize for that ;)

It really catches my attention too, as it's a super tiring work to create a neat and attractive BBCode thread like what icopress does in all of his threads. And even with the current situation in his country. It simply shows us that he loves bitcointalk that huge. And you also did a great work with him for creating this event. Thank you to both of you!

I am taking the title with much pride, but above all I confirm my intention to go on with the role: you can continue to look at me as someone always available to listen and hopefully able to give you good ideas, with trust and wisdom.
In addition to that, I like the avatar, as it is the most resembling to my physical appearance!

It's nice to know who the winner is, and congratulate all of you.

Several nominations were still won by the same users as last year, but several other nominations were won by new users. @PowerGlove won this year's discovery, he really deserves it and this user has been quite helpful for forum. I was surprised that @LoyceV didn't win any nominations in first place, but he did win 3 different nominations in second place. Likewise with @lovesmayfamilis.

LOL.  That brings me back big time.  And hey, this is kind of like poker; three 2nd place wins is better than one 1st place win--and certainly better than my hand (though I'm still grateful for the votes that were dealt to me).

Edit: Just realized, that I've also won something as 2nd place, thank you so much!
That's funny, because I didn't realize there was a bitcoin prize.  Maybe there should be a category next year along the lines of "shortest attention span" or "details ignoramus", in which case I would have to come in first place with little competition.

Many thanks to all who participated and made the event possible: Cyrus, GazetaBitcoin, icopress and Sorsis.
Hear, hear.  You might think my enthusiasm for the contest was muted at best based on what I posted in this thread, but things like this and other contests on the forum are great morale boosters and motivators for members who perhaps haven't been here that long or who don't participate that much.  If you consider the forum as a whole to be one big community, it's an honor just to get some votes in any of the categories, you know?

Congrats to the winners. Well deserved!

Now how am I going to change my personal text?
What about having a custom title for the winners? It doesn't take much time for theymos to add them. People will see Golden Feather 2021, 2022 and thus, more people will know about the yearly contest too.
I think we can create a petition thread to convince theymos that Bitcointalk Community awards winner should have a custom title.
Thoughts?

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks icopress and all your helpers for completing one more Bitcointalk Community Awards.
LoyceV and lovesmayfamilis smashed everyone else with winning rewards in three different categories, but I think it was well deserved.
My suggestion for next year is to make few changes, maybe we could have randomly selected winners for stuff like hardware wallets and collectibles.

New categories to consider:
- Peacemaker
- Troublemaker
- Drama Queen

EDIT:
- Reporter

Congratulations to all those nominated, and even more so to those in the category podiums.

@GazetaBitcoin, do you happen to have the total count of valid voters ?

I'm presuming it's in the 250-300 range. I wanted to get an idea of the percentage of potential voters that cast their vote, out of the potential pool. I didn't make any sort of count at the end of the voting period, but if I look at it today, in order to get a rough idea of the potential pool, there are 2.825 accounts with 50 or above earned Merits. In practical terms though, 1.723 have been active since November 2022, which seems more like the potential pool's practical upper limit.

Note 1:

Note 2:
As I stated on my local board at some point, being just a thought, it could be interesting to consider something related to local boards in future events.

This is a very nice idea, as I think local boards are the core of this forum.

Of course, it would be very difficult to have meaningful voting, as every local board is a different island, and of course, we want to prevent the local hero merit source from winning the competition.

Wow wow!! Is that a back to back ninja award? Does that mean I can finally buy a katana and graduate as a real ninja? :o

Thank you everyone for voting for me. A few years ago I couldnt imagine being known and remembered by so many people. As a developer since I was little, I always dreamt of coding stuff people actually used on a daily basis, so Im very glad to be making a difference. Every short userscript someone installs, every notification my bot sends is a reason for me to keep working on them (and more).

Thank you! ;D

Also, is it right that Ive won a Ledger? Mine broke a few months ago and I was just postponing on buying a new one. And a new X model? :o

Thank you icopress for running this very well done contest, as always. I wouldnt be able to pull off 10% of what youre doing. And thank you Betnomi and Cryptios for the very generous prizes!

Let's see some more competition for the spambuster next year ;). Congratulations to everyone that was a nominee of course.

Of course, it would be very difficult to have meaningful voting, as every local board is a different island, and of course, we want to prevent the local hero merit source from winning the competition.

Could easily be done with the permission of Icopress & co to elect certain prominent users of the local sections. There will be less work to do since there won't be as many users voting, and at least you'll get more tightly knitted users voting for their stand out users each year. Plus, you could potentially narrow down some of the categories to make it better fit. That way, they could vote on their local community awards, and the main one without too many issues. Otherwise, some users who predominately post within their local section will never have a chance, despite potentially being a great candidate for a vote.

Congrats to the other winners! I'm touched that so many people went out of their way to vote for me.

I decline any prize. Please reassign it to someone else, donate the value to Evidence Action (https://www.evidenceaction.org/donate/), or keep it.

Thanks for organizing this, icopress!

Congrats to all winners and thank you to those active users (it's already mentioned who are they) who organized this contest.
I'm now thinking about what will be the next contest this year.

If you consider the forum as a whole to be one big community, it's an honor just to get some votes in any of the categories, you know?
Well said and I just want to thank them.
It's been my honor they voted for me for that category.

Winning Event of the Year is pretty cool and I appreciate everyone who participated.  Very appreciative for the help Theymos and Cyrus provided me with, as well as all the users who helped keep things in line, helped with the pictures etc.  You all were a huge help and I can't thank you enough. I think I will be running it again next year if there's interest.

I see I'm on the wall of shame for meriting someone's post lol. I do apologize, I read the rules but quickly.  Obviously MinerJones and I don't need merit, I was just appreciative of him listing me as a scambuster.  But again sorry about that Icopress ( I know you know it wasn't merit farming or whatever but rules are rules).

I would do it quite the other way round. If there's a previously winning member in the Top 3 in the respective category, I would give an award to place number 4 as well + spilt the BTC prize money between the previous winner and the runner up.
For example, votes have been counted as following:

- CryptoLion (45)
- CryptoShark (41)
- CryptoDolphin (21)
- CryptoFish (18)
- CryptoLOL (11)
- CryptoROFL (7)

But CryptoLion has been a winner previously in the same category. Now, CryptoFish would also win an award (as runner up) and prizes are split between CryptoLion and CryptoFish evenly.
If CryptoShark has been a winner previously in the same category as well, same procedure applies and CryptoLOL will also win an award + prize money is split between CryptoShark and CryptoLOL evenly.

Such a solution would make it more fair to reward more members.  :)

I'm not entirely sure about that. More members, sure - more fair, I don't know.

For instance, let's take SpamBuster category and assume it is objectively ranked by most successful (true positives) spam reports.
Assume it is 2022; UserA reported 1000 posts in the year, and UserB (ranked second) reported 100 posts, everyone else under 100 posts. UserA wins the category and takes home first place.
Let's say in 2023, the numbers are exactly the same. UserA again reported 1000 posts and the next best user only reported 100. So UserA did the exact same job, and everyone else performed exactly the same, too. Now, only because this is the second year, UserA will have to share their prize, even though nothing changed.

By knowing about this rule, UserA may be discouraged from reporting 1000 posts again, since they could just as well aim for second (or lower) spot instead with much less work involved.
I'm all about encouraging instead of discouraging, so therefore I lean against such a solution.

I am pretty sure that we discussed such ideas at length in the [Discussion] thread, in fall of 2022.

Congratulations to all the winners. I also want to appreciate the sponsors (Betnomi) and the organizers (Icopress and others). It's not easy to properly organize events and get the desired results. Last year the world had some natural disasters such as flooding, famine, war, and others. And some members went out of their way to give support to some of these victims. I think this selflessness should be recognized by the forum. I am suggesting that an award section be created to recognize such selfless service.

Congratulations to all the winners in each of the different categories of this annual awards.
The sponsors, organizers and all the users involved in this awards are absolutely amazing. I don't know if they have selected the users by the right category but it doesn't really matter anymore as we have got the winner.

There aren't lot of new users winning nominations, it's still being won by most of the old users who were last year's award winners too. But for whatever reason, it must be special to keep it for different years.

Category name could be something like Best Reporter.

Don't throw it away in garbage, maybe you could use it later for spear parts.
Believe it or not, almost all hardware wallets that exist today are not water resistant, so better be careful with new device you purchase, or keep in some case or bag.
Only device I know that claims it will be water resistant is upcoming 1inch hardware wallet, but I hope others will soon follow that practice.

Oh man nicely hosted competition here!
Congratulation to all the winners and a big heart to those who did not win but its never the last competition.

Wow, I think we should have more awareness about the Bitcointalk Community Awards though I have seen it flashing on the top tab then also I only got engaged few times with it.

However, considering the volume of the members we have on this forum, it should be even grand than this.

Still, loving the energy here and those different characters and awards are just cool. Add more categories, may be we can have more participants soon.

By the way I am seeing all the names in the winning list which are always there whenever I am opening the forum everyday! Definitely worth it.

You are doing a great work for the forum and you deserve a prize for that ;)
The professionalism and respect for each other is the most beautiful gift to us, especially to me, shown by the winners of this event.
Although I have already congratulated all the winners, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you all a second time. We look forward to new breakthroughs for the betterment of the forum.

I can only imagine how grand this event would have been if it had been held in a large, well-decorated building complete with dazzling lights. When dominators from all over the world gather, sitting close to each other at the round tables provided while waiting for the announcement of each nomination facilitated by the moderator of this event while chatting lightly and occasionally laughing out loud.

It's bound to be a great annual party.
The excitement of our event is likely to outshine other events such as the Ballon d'Or or other major events.

<> We had 141 eligible voters.
Thanks. Thats lower than Id have thought in relation to the roughly, lets say, 1.723 Active members since November (rough upper limit of potential voters) -> just over 8% potential in practice voter participation.

<> Would you like to elaborate a bit on the subject? What do you have in mind? :)
It probably needs a bit of common brainstorming, but the desired effect would be to have local boards gain some visibility in the event (though laterally they already have some through some of the nominees).

Something along the like of best local board asset (within each local board) or best local board newbie/comeback. The idea would be to highlight those that contribute in a very meaningful manner to potentiate their local board through content, aid, knowledge or alike.

Since there are currently 22 local boards, I figure there wont be 22 new subcategories (one per local board) under the Local Board Asset category. Bearing that in mind, and that some of the local boards are pretty much flat, perhaps the participating local boards have to have some requirements (i.e. number of active members, posts, minimum number of valid votes, and so forth).

Now its true that Merit Sources could have some kind advantage there as  fillippone  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437673.msg61699134#msg61699134) hinted, though it should not be a factor people should mindfully consider as a core aspect that defines an asset to their local board. If thats a conceptual issue, just add "new" as a prefix to the category to delimit the scope of nominees to new accounts for the given year.

I take this opportunity to share some more interesting and funny facts I noticed during voting period. I hope you'll all enjoy!  :D

  • Most united local board: Italian, by far. In my opinion, the greatest brotherhood can be found inside Italian board. This is because their members voted mostly for other Italian members, encouraging each other. I observed such behavior inside German board, for example, but Italians seems to be the ones best at supporting their people. Respect to that!

  • Most weird / creepy vote:

-AntiHero: dead Lauda

  • An interesting debate: Sarah Azhari trying to convince yahoo62278 that he may be a girl :)

  • Miss Bitcointalk: yahoo62278
Guess I better start sitting down to pee if I'm to take home the miss bitcointalk title lol. If I win I'll need a brand new dress to strut my stuff in.
;D  I'm sorry because I still don't know how to differentiate between men and women here, I just look by the name Yahoo that look women by me.

about 18,881 yahoo girl name in 2013

https://www.babycenter.com/baby-names/details/yahoo-417015

yahoo62278 seemed to take this possibility seriously, thus he made some plans in case he'd actually find out that he is a girl:

Guess I better start sitting down to pee if I'm to take home the miss bitcointalk title lol. If I win I'll need a brand new dress to strut my stuff in.

  • Most philosophic explanation for Antihero category:

anti hero does not mean villain. its means hero without the boyscout red pants on

  • The sad user:

Miss Bitcointalk: i can't answer my gf is watching me  :'(

  • An interesting suggestion:

There should be a category created in which I would fit, maybe Mercurial, Satanic Slob of Laziness and Chronic Beggar of Theymos for sMerits

  • The new discovered girl:
5Ksana_HandMade (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2555471). As far as I know, this user has never been nominated before.

  • Sexism against men:

By the way, why is there no Mister Bitcointalk? What kind of injustice?  ;)

  • Insights about The Sceptical Chymist's cloths + trolling theymos:

Fail of the Year:Change of name ( From The Pharmacist to Skeptical Chymist. Dear Theymos, I'd so much appreciate it, if you can give my man what he desires and deserves as a Christmas Present
LOL, I almost shit-stained my already shit-stained bunny costume reading that.  It's Sceptical Chymist, by the way.  A minor detail, but one that Mr. party pooper (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3515415) didn't miss.

Theymos, the hero of good, golden feather, and niggard distributor of sMerits to all the sources (or maybe I'm just special).

  • A very aesthetic vote:

https://i.ibb.co/T4pkMgV/Lqqbwaa.png

  • Funniest vote:
Hero of Good: Baphomet, Beelzebub, Shaitan, 'ol Scratch himself
Golden Feather: Barrack Obama
Bitcointalk Ninja: Satoshi
Bitcoin Geek: Sam Bankman Fried
Event of the Year:  FTX falling down from $32 billon mountain *doh*  I copy/pasted NotATether's list and forgot to modify this entry.
Fail of the Year: Me flipping over the handlebars of my bicycle whilst collecting cans and pretending to be homeless.  Just last night.
Discovery of the Year:  Russian scientists discover immortality drug (https://www.archyde.com/the-discovery-of-a-new-anti-aging-drug-that-extends-life/).
Best SpamBuster: What spam?
Best ScamBuster: Pick one for me.
Craft Master: Da fuk does this even mean?
AntiHero: Black Adam
Miss Bitcointalk: Foxpup

  • The man closest to win at Miss BitcoinTalk category:
BitcoinGirl.Club ended up on fourth place, at one vote distance from third place  ::)

https://i.ibb.co/85bz1jB/Jq9WH41.png

  • Another interesting debate:
BlackHatCoiner trying to convince o_e_l_e_o that he is a man

Even in 2022, husbands are males.  :P
I've never said I was her husband, only that she was my wife. Her gender says nothing about mine.

  • The endless debate about our Supreme Leader's gender:
(Note: these are just a few examples, but the discussion lasts for years now  ;D)

Miss Bitcointalk: I highly doubt Foxpup is she.

If I recall correctly, Foxup won the female category some time ago; how do you nominate someone whose gender is unknown to 95% of the voters? After antihero, this is the most useless category.
At least for Foxpup it's known (because profile information is important to look up  ;)) and that's once again a reason to set up all details in your Account.  :D

Guys, those of you which are so curious should know that our dear fillippone made a comprehensive list (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121375.msg53966080#msg53966080) with possible genders of Foxpup :)

I take a lot of pride in this. We acted like a real community, not for the benefit of one, but in the main interest of the board as a whole.
There were not an act of coordination, but each member acted similarly by their own mind.

Such a solution would make it more fair to reward more members.  :)
I'm not entirely sure about that. More members, sure - more fair, I don't know.

...
I'm all about encouraging instead of discouraging, so therefore I lean against such a solution.
I'm also all about encouraging instead of discouraging but I don't see how my suggestion would be discouraging members to report rule-breaking content and low-value post. The winner would still win quite a nice amount of valuable BTC for his reporting, something that didn't exist in previous years (before Bitcointalk had such yearly rewards) and even back then, we had quite some good reporters.
I could even argue, that implementing my suggestion would encourage more members to report spam because it's more likely for more members to get a part of the BTC-rewards cake.

Congratulations to all winners! It was certainly deserved and this forum without you was not the same!

Congratulations to the entire organization of this giveaway, it was not an easy task to gather and compile all the information.

@GazetaBitcoin
You did an amazing job, even compiling interesting facts from the poll. Thanks.

Another point was that you listed all those who received at least 3 votes, regardless of category.
It ended up meeting what I had commented on in the other post. Thanks.  ;)

I'm surprised Yahoo didn't win any of the Bitcointalk Community awards.

I was expecting for Yahoo to receive at least second place for the 'Absolute Hero of Good' award, as we all know Theymos deserved to be number one.

Anyway, congratulations to all the winners.

A big thanks to @icopress and @GazetaBitcoin for releasing the result of the nominees and a heartwarming congratulations to the 2022 winners. This is one of the numerous ways the forum standard can be encouraged and trigger more users to be at the best for the next nomination.

Hehe, welcome! I am glad you remembered our discussion. And yes, I did it at your suggestion! Thank you for your opinion and also for offering yourself to help! I appreciated that!

I'm surprised Yahoo didn't won any of this Bitcointalk community award. I'm expecting more on "Absolute Hero of Good" award for Yahoo to get atleast 2nd cause we all know Theymos deserved to be number 1.

On the other hand, take into account that yahoo62278 was nominated at four categories, which only very few members managed to achieve. Indeed, one of these was "Miss BitcoinTalk" but it is what it is... :) He received 6 nominations at "Craft master" (ninth place), 3 nominations at "BitcoinTalk ninja" (ninth place) and 14 nominations at "Golden feather" (sixth place). And, of course, 3 votes at "Miss BitcoinTalk" (ninth place) -- here he got just one vote less than LoyceV :)

because maybe my frequency life always got women as manager company, and feel that yahoo is women.
Don't say if you stumbled on the name yahoo on tinder app or somewhere in thailand.

Loooooooooool!

Same as today, I really feel Royse777 is a woman also.

Oh boy!

Did you have that feeling only yesterday? Or are you feeling everyday that Royse is a woman? :)

What a place bitcointalk became? You are not safe at all.

No, we're not. I said at many times in the past:

Now it's clear for me that I really must be a part of the gang, for my own protection!

Anyways, Congratulations to all d winners.
These awards started 2-3 years too late for me to have a real chance at winning. I was the top manager on 2017-2019 and now while I still consider myself a top manager, the companies have started hiring other managers.

It's nice to be nominated 😊

I take this opportunity to share some more interesting and funny facts I noticed during voting period. I hope you'll all enjoy!  :D

  • Most united local board: Italian, by far. In my opinion, the greatest brotherhood can be found inside Italian board. This is because their members voted mostly for other Italian members, encouraging each other. I observed such behavior inside German board, for example, but Italians seems to be the ones best at supporting their people. Respect to that!

yes it is true, we are very united because we are not very many and we have known each other for a long time
among other things we try to cooperate with very nice projects like btctalk on telegram by @mendace and the wiki to put stable content on a site

I think it is due to this

Yeah Voting and the voting discussion was fun but I love the facts more (because my votes did not win :()... except for Discovery of the Year: PowerGlove

  • The man closest to win at Miss BitcoinTalk category:
BitcoinGirl.Club ended up on fourth place, at one vote distance from third place  ::)

Ahh a relief... Foxpup you better be Miss Bitcointalk now don't disappoint 47 your voters :D

Antihero: Royse777
Are we suppose to congratulate? I mean you got more votes than the Craft Master and Miss Bitcointalk categories.

Fail of the Year: FTX collapse

Ok good for TheBitcoinTalkShow (5) we have chance in 2024 let's do this... I mean bring back the show and lets make it Event of the Year

Congrats to the other winners! I'm touched that so many people went out of their way to vote for me.

I'm seeing this just now, the man doesn't believe he was chosen as a winner, this reaction reminds me of Oscars where the winner is really touched when he/ she finds out they voted for him/ her. And the declining part also reminded me of the late great Marlon Brando refusing to accept the award.

I think that means that suchmoon is rejecting his title of Miss Bitcointalk bronze medal winner, and he is officially confirming that he is 100% male.

Now I will need to start body building? Do I need to develop the whole body or only everything below both elbows, especially the fingers to do better fingering 😉?

On a second note, why the males were ignored all these years and only had miss bitcointalk? This is a violation of human rights. Is it sueable 🤗?

We've been over this already:

In the award there is Miss Bitcointalk.
Why is there no Mr. Bitcointalk?
Because awards are customarily only given to those who are exceptional in some way, and Bitcointalk users who are (or at least are believed to be) female are, regrettably, the exception to the norm. :(

So, are you prepared to do what is necessary to become truly exceptional (while probably becoming a victim of actual human rights violations at the same time) or are you content to remain merely ordinary?

You are right about the "below the elbows part", but it's not the fingers. Please read carefully fillippone's post, it contains the parts which should be worked out intensely:

Italian stallion is ready to compete.

Apparently, our contest determined so much peevishness that some users are plagiarizing even the posts made inside this topic (facepalm).

Apparently, second user forgot to select last four words of CryptoPanda when he performed the copy-paste. Although it seems a simple operation, it's not, as you can see. Copy-paste is very complex and may ruin you sometimes (like in this case).

Anyway, congratulations to all who have won which I can say well deserved. I also wonder if there would be new awards on next year or whatever year it is. I think there are other forum members that are fit for same award or should I say similar award (Sub-category I think). I think it's because of Absolute Hero of Good and Hero of Good.

Would like to thank o_e_l_e_o, GazetaBitcoin and LoyceV for nominating me for the Discovery of The Year.  Coincidence, or is Fox's gang closely supervising me?

I first thought this category truly was for discoveries made in the Bitcoin grounds and was even wondering what the heck I even discovered.  Would not have minded knowing I made an actual accidental discovery though!

Thank you to the organizers too.  And my congratulations to each and every winner and nominated users.  I really wish I took my time to look more into this event.  It is never too late however.  This year I will make sure there will be people nominated by me too.

Who cares if she is a girl or not? No one ask for users identity on this forum so, cool down, the first girl now has a bad feedback on his profile for canceling an auction on a winner, it's not even once but twice, and that is not good.

Amico mio, be very careful, as you are walking on a thin ice here :) Have you seen what happened to poor icopress (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121375.msg61758769#msg61758769)?  :D

Excepting our Supreme Leader, as she is above and beyond your league (mine too, lol) there are some chances to be some girls around though. Let's see...

For once, I remember that Yatsan made a post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3910520.msg53203693#msg53203693) from which we can elaborate there are more than 90% chances for being a girl. Sadly, there are still 10% chances that those fingernails belong to a man  :D

Then I also remember LoyceV, which switched his mind (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382917.msg59164775#msg59164775) from

        Quote
        13. Miss Bitcointalk ............... There are no girls on the internet

        to

        Quote
        12. Miss Bitcointalk: sensualbellax is one of the few users who I'm pretty sure is actually a woman. Her NSFW (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=640106.0;all) topic has been around for many years, and even though she hasn't been online in a while, I expect she'll be back.

Then let's see... We also have

Miss Bitcointalk: lovesmayfamilis this is must be a woman with lots of kids 😉
If you are wondering, then yes, I have children, but they are few. We are working on it. Does this really surprise you? ;D

Besides, there also some which you'd never think they are girls :)

Another question that amuses me a lot is how many women we have on the forum. I see LoyceV, o_e_l_e_o, Rikafip, and even Theymos on the lists. :o :o :o

Let's not forget that LoyceV was nominated in 2020 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5301470.0) as well at this select category :) (Satoshi too!)

Digging some more, there are also Helena Yu, SmartGold01, Disruptivas, Fattcatt, Bagiira, Majestic_milf (now that's an interesting name for sure!), mk4, Sandra_hakeem, womanderful, Lesbian Cow, BitcoinBunny, suchmoon, sheenshane, SatoPrincess, 5Ksana_HandMade, Sarah Azhari, TMAN (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=98986) (yes, TMAN, lol!).

        Or, why not, BitcoinGirl.Club (as per people's belief (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437673.msg61708636#msg61708636)  :D) or even yahoo2278 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437673.msg61714392#msg61714392).

Having all these said, I think that you'll reconsider your position.

On a second opinion, ignore all I wrote excepting my first sentence. That should be enough for making you change your mind :)

Well, to me no of those you provided above are solid evidence of them being female. Or at least Ono of those I could fall for.

Apart from that, I ignored mk4 was thought to be a female.. you never stop learning.

Have you noticed that users who are really women, don't enter this debate!?

They must be laughing at us! Mainly when we say that a user is not a woman, but in reality he is.

Again, even more simple: female users don't enter the debate, because they do not exist!
And above all, if I ever want to find a female user, I wouldn't like to be found on this forum!

No, we don't enter the debate because debates about our gender always devolve into an barrage of nasty insults, threats of violence, requests for nude pictures, accusations that said nude pictures are fake, etc. Nobody wants to deal with that. :(

I am sorry you have been trough all that.
There is no point in insulting, threatening violence of even asking for nudes, if you follow my approach.
I guarantee I received many female nude pictures from male users, especially over telegram, especially by scammers....

This is highly reprehensible and regrettable! If anyone on this forum did this to you, or another woman, they should be exposed and banned!  >:(

It's one thing to have a joking, light-hearted debate, it's another thing to be verbally offensive in a subtle way. This is harassment!

          • The new discovered girl:
5Ksana_HandMade (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2555471). As far as I know, this user has never been nominated before.
          That girl, I nominated her.

          Another girl I discovered,
This night after I finished breastfeeding my baby
still under my consideration at next year's forum awards event. But pls don't ask her to prove what a real girl she is by asking for photos of her recent activities with the baby.  ;D

I don't think there is anything much to asked her for identity because I know too well that every single user here belong to one local board or the other, so the easiest way to get them sorted out is to locate their local board and converse with their leader or someone who is reputable in there board. Btw SmartGold01 is a Nigerian likewise me as well, meaning brainboss and Igebotz would know more better since they are already DT1. It would lessing the stress to try prove she is really woman as claims.

I completely understand why female users are not willing to engage in these scenarios, avoiding to reveal their gender in the first place. This is, by chance, an information not so relevant in a cryptocurrencies-related forum.

Congrats to all the BCA22 winners! And of course thank you to icopress for organizing everything and GazetaBitcoin, Sorsis and everyone else involved for their contribution!
Took the liberty to start a thread detailing the fine art prints that Cryptios offered to sponsor the event. Link here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5440192

Yes, unfortunately there is this bad reputation of us males. If you look at the comments on the profiles of famous women on instagram, they are horrendous.
Ok an "escile" is funny and not too offensive, but other comments are really scary!
