Title: I am a General Newbie.
Post by: Freeman66 on February 08, 2023, 11:44:38 AM
For the past 6 days I've been in this platform I've seen many ideas and helping hands spirits circulating round this forum. I must admit the spirit of growth revolve in this group in so much.
As a newbie, I've been left with a confusing situation many times, sometimes due to the Trading Terminologies, Abbreviations and so on. With the spirit of being a man in me I come up with these plea, that my brothers and sisters here should help me carry along with the trading system so as I can as well grow like you.

There is no much term to learn about, just register on one exchange like Binance, Kucoin or any other ones with trading guide and start reading their trading guides. They have video tutorials too which can make learning about spot, future and other trading types easier.

You will have to learn more about indicators from external articles

Read more on risk management, very important.

Do not use the amount of money you can not afford to lose to trade. For start, use very low amount of money that is even less than the amount of money that you can afford to lose to trade.

Learn the basics first. The links below will give you a headstart about the basic terminologies/concept when it comes to trading.

There's also this subreddit that has the most comprehensive guide when it comes to day trading. Even though they use most of their strategies in stocks trading, they can still be useful in terms of crypto.

General abbreviations or other information's you need can be search in google and there are more info's you can research there if you want to do deep analyzing the strategies used by certain traders. Also don't rush to put up some amount to invest on your trades learn more first to sharpen up your skills and also read up the links and suggestions provided by fellow user on this thread since that is helpful for your future trading career.

My question is that are you sure that trading terminologies is the main challenge that you have because I have not heard such complaint from traders. What I believe is that every field of life has its own terminologies and you need to study and understand the field before you get to know the terminologies there in that field. So by the time you are learning and studying the field, you also get to understand the terminologies naturally. Likewise in trading field, you won't be outside and try to understand everything that goes on in trading, if you start learning through demo practice then you can natural understand them but if you want to understand it without being a trader then you will have more time to understand it because you won't be meeting them often. Well some of those terms I think are bull, bear, rally etc. You can also learn more from this board.

Haha, Op title is too funny in the sense everyone is always a general newbie on his first week then consistently they use to be experienced after 30 days according to the merit system if they got 1 merit they use to be the Jr members. The point is when I was a newbie after months I came to know how to create a useful thread but Op is really Op. My prayers are with you may you learn a lot from here and live a good life.

You must be fully aware of the working method of the platform on which you will trade and its limits and terms of use. You must gain experience in learning methods of analyzing markets and trading, and there are many resources on the Internet that will help you with that, such as books, websites, videos, etc. Also, you should focus on market terminology and trading terminology and tools and understand them well, and you should get acquainted with risk management orders, as they will help you identify places to enter and exit the market without falling into potential risks and avoid entering into losing deals and buying currencies that cause a lot of hype in the market, Trading cryptocurrency is an easily hard for many beginners, and it has many positives and negatives, so I advise you to avoid falling into the trap of the negative and invest in the positives to make a profit.

Try to join the big exchanges in the market for trading. Many people have suggested this to you before my post, including the names of the exchanges. After that it is important to know all the terms of that exchange, because many times newbie traders have to suffer big problems due to not reading these terms. And the most important thing is this, learn as much as you can about the crypto market because if you fail to do market analysis then all your previous knowledge will be wasted. Market analysis is most important to be a successful trader.

Your poll and what you're saying are confusing. Your poll is about earning merit and your post is about trading. But as your post about trading is also in the right section, we all came from being a newbie. These terminologies are just needed to be known by you and understand what they mean. If you see something new and you're not familiar with it, be quick in searching the meaning of it on Google and read the description, just be like that every time you see an unfamiliar word or term about trading.

Looking up strange words is one of the fastest means of learning, it boosts quickly the zeal to continue, but one disadvantage of it which Op should get hold of is lack of continuity. If he maps out 2hrs a day for trading tuition online and learning the meaning of the terminologies he'll achieve a lot before 30 days and his questions here would improve as well.

in order to focus on a trading system, it is necessary to keep trying to learn how to trade well and what there is to learn. You certainly have to learn it from basic lessons so you understand how trading works.
In this forum, there are many answers to questions that you might ask later, as long as you are not too lazy to read and look for the right topic, then you can study well.
Make sure you learn using minimal money or not too much money because you are just doing some trials or learning how trading works. Do not push too much money if you do not understand what you are doing. Everything needs a process, so you have to process to be able to master trading knowledge.

Read more on risk management, very important.
OP I would first warn you to tread carefully on the trading platform. Trading platform is one such platform where you cannot do anything easily. Of course there is risk to be taken in this business. You will never make money from a trading platform unless you dare to take risks. I would say first of all you have to take risks.

Do not use the amount of money you can not afford to lose to trade. For start, use very low amount of money that is even less than the amount of money that you can afford to lose to trade.
Yes beginners should never trade with large amount of money to trade. If they accidentally make a mistake, they lose all their money. For this they should trade with small amounts of money in the first instance. Even if it is lost in the learned state, there should be no regret.

I would recommend to the OP not to trade. He doesn't explain much but he looks like a guy who wants to get into trading because he wants to make easy money, when it's very difficult, there are very few who make money consistently and it requires knowledge and dedication that he doesn't seem to have.

I would rather take advantage of the forum to acquire general information about bitcoin, and consider whether to invest for the long term. If he decides to trade in the end anyway, let it be with more knowledge than he seems to have.

No body will help carry your own responsibilities except by yourself and it start by you creating value, but before that you need to have acquired a certain stage in knowledge acquisition, yes members can help with bringing suggestions and constructive ideas to help you but you determine how fast you were been able to make effective utilization of them all, you need to realize that being on this forum is the first opportunity you had because it's not like other social media that gives wrong informations, read, learn, ask, research and be active and that's all you need for now.

Welcome to the forum. It’s normal to feel like an imposter in the first few weeks, we all have been there. I encourage newbies to find a particular area of the forum to focus on, You have a genuine reason for being here since you’re interested in developing your crypto trading skills I suggest you frequent  Trading Discussion. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=8.0) There are lots of useful information you will find there from experienced members.
Your poll is kinda confusing, bitcoin trading has nothing to do with merits I assume you meant “how to grow in bitcointalk”. I will say don’t worry too much about merits, it’s easier for newbies to get merits nowadays.

I'm also a new bie, and have been having same issues of abbreviation and other terms most times, but what I do when I'm in that situation is that, I asked questions either as a topic, or I ask other members, and they will always answer and help me, so I urge you to do same, ask questions where you don't understand, other members will help and direct you to the right part...

You are welcome to the forum

As you have been told by others, cryptocurrency is not something you can learn and understand in a day or week it's a gradual process even the high-ranked member still learns new things every day.
What you need is to learn the basic of cryptocurrency first with Binance academy (https://academy.binance.com/en/courses) and their glossary (https://academy.binance.com/en/glossary) you should understand the major language or slogan used in crypto.
Having said that, the voting you open says another thing and if what you want to know is how to earn merit on this forum you need to learn from what others are doing.

The best thing is to start learning, and the first thing to always remember is never lazy to read and read. Here in this forum, we can find out so much inspiration, information, and also discussion about trading, Bitcoin, and also this forum. You cannot be a good trader if you are not really willing to have good reading habits. or at least, learn from YouTube and other media that possible you to get enough knowledge. Learning is never ending, so, you need to continue learning.
This also for being in this forum, you have been in this Beginners board and here, you can find enough information about what to do as a newbie here by reading some pinned threads in this board. Btw, you cannot give merit to your own post, so you need to wait for other members here to merit you. And you must read how you can earn merits here. It may not be easy, but it is not a kind of impossible mission. So, keep it up much better

As a Newbie you should spend more time reading about anything related to trading (if that's what you're joining here for). At first it will look confusing, after you have successfully passed step by step the basic knowledge will make you even more interested in exploring deeper about crypto. Be patient with the current conditions, to achieve something you want requires a process, you will enjoy the results after successfully becoming a successful trader.

Well as a newbie you have to know the basic thing about bitcoin and how it works.
You will never get knowledge about bitcoin if you don't ask questions on what you are confused about or what is confusing you, make your researches and ask to know if you don't understand what you went to enquire about, in here we are ever ready to enlighten you on what to do and how it's done.

You are welcome once again in this forum and don't worry you are not in the wrong place okay.

If the terminologies used confuse you, don't break your head over it. Search the words used and you will get the meaning of what posters are trying to portray. To grow in this field, research and intense reading are required.

I get your point. However, trading is more of practical realities than theory (reading). This is simply why most people who can teach trading suck at making profit trading. Emotion is the bane of trading. It takes a heart of steel to not close one's trades in loss when price is heading to SL. Most times, price won't even get to the SL before it reverts but emotion gets in the way while one watches it move and then closes it prematurely. Trading isn't a simple business. It takes a lot to succeed at it.

Have you ever seen an opinion poll or a survey in your life? It usually consists of a question and a few possible answers. For example:

Does Freeman66 know what a poll is?

A) Yes
B) No

That's a poll. The "thing" you made isn't.

For the past 6 days I've been in this platform I've seen many ideas and helping hands spirits circulating round this forum.
There are no spirits on Bitcointalk. Stop the FUD.

With the spirit of being a man in me I come up with these plea, that my brothers and sisters here should help me carry along with the trading system so as I can as well grow like you.
Don't put men inside of you or let them enter you, and if you do, don't tell anyone about it. Joking aside, trading isn't for everyone. It's certainly not for those who can't afford to lose their money. Education and life experience first, then everything else. What Can Happen If You Want to Trade Cryptocurrencies, but You Don’t Know How? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5362037.0)

If you want to own some crypto, buy it at a price and in a quantity you are comfortable with. When you are happy with your profits, sell it and get out. Repeat as many times as you want. But first learn the name of the coin. There is no bit coin. It's also not beat coin, beef coin or prick coin. It's bitcoin, and its network is Bitcoin.

To answer your non-poll. You are going to have a hard time earning merits here.

I believe the OP is referring himself as a newbie all round, not knowing much about anything in the forum, and in that case, all you need is to be a consistent reader in the forum, read people's post, and try to make your own contribution reasonable without plagiarism to avoid being kicked out of the forum.Know about the forum rules, the do's and the dont's in the forum. After knowing that, then you can set your mind on trying to invest or trade. And while entering into trading, always know that in trading, risk is one of the essential factors involved in it.It is risky to trade, but good strategy and calculation can might make you always be on the winning side.
