Title: [SCAM ALERT] MillenniaToken - SCAM project promoting bounty
Post by: albon on February 24, 2023, 05:47:51 PM
What happened:: I saw Bounty today, and after I reviewed its project, it turns out that it is a scam project, claiming that they have a certificate that they obtained after the KYC of their project was verified by Interfi.Network, and it is a fake certificate modified by the team of this scam project that is not for the Millennialcoin official project.

About InterFi KYC
interfi.network (http://interfi.network) verification aims to bring trust and transparency to blockchain projects. In this repo, we'll upload certificates of the KYC-verified projects.

After opening the GitHub link (https://github.com/ssolidproof/projects-development/blob/main/Kyc_certificate_Millennia_Token.pdf) that they put in their tweet on Twitter, we will find that their certificate is fake because if we go to Interfi.Network's GitHub link (https://github.com/interfinetwork/project-kyc-verification/blob/main/Millennialcoin_KYCCertificate_InterFi.pdf), we will see that the original certificate bears the name of "Millennialcoin," which is the official project whose website link is Millennialcoin.org (http://Millennialcoin.org) and not this scam project "MillenniaToken" that stole the certificate and modified it and impersonated the official Millennialcoin project.

This is the FAKE certificate for this scam project which has no release date and is not mentioned in the official Interfinetwork account on GitHub

This is the original certificate for the Millennialcoin project, issued on August 11, 2022, on Interfinetwork about six months ago.

Additional Notes:

The campaign manager should stop promoting it, and the bounty hunters should stop working, as there are five pages on the BOUNTY TOPIC (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5440999.0) so far.

Nice investigation. we can not expect something good when the project hires a manager like this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5440999.msg61807559#msg61807559), I am really surprised I see the bounty thread. It's horrible I don't the team either reviewed the bounty thread or not. Everything related to the project is not professional. So without deep research, it's 80% sure the project is a scam.

Nice catch, keep it up to project crypto investor.

Thank you mate for your comment,

I will try to contact the bounty manager and send him the topic of this scam accusation, and we will see what he will do. I hope it will be a lesson for him if he wants to gain a good reputation by trying to do research before he promotes a scam project like this which steals another project name, so that bounty hunters and investors do not fall into the hands of scammers.

The strange thing is that the project that this bounty was posted about has only a Twitter account without a website or any information related to the project team or the project as a whole, maybe this BM is part of this project or its team.

The manager in question already has 2 negative tags on them for other infractions on the forum. It's not like they really care if the project they're promoting scams or not, they just wanted to get paid.

That's strange they only promote their telegram and the Twitter handle maybe the site is coming soon when the campaign is already running, but they don't have an announcement here the information is very limited on that project, where will the investors invest if they don't have a contract address or details of the site.
We just have to check their telegram I'm sure they will eventually post their website
or maybe this is a fake campaign and they just want to grow their telegram and Twitter account, its really strange that they are promoting a project without important details.

Not sure why the bounty manager does not have a flag already, given that he has been caught in the past as a bounty cheater. It looks like he doesn't value his trust ratings at all. A newbie/guest flag would deter genuine newbies or guests from joining or believing in the scam project

For this matter, I have created a type 1 flag on his profile - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3116

Supported the flag to stop his bounty managing career I'm surprised that the developer of this project got a cheater to manage their bounty, they knew that this guy will not do his research and if there is an accusation like this he will just continue the campaign.
He doesn't even have a disclaimer on his bounty campaign makes it looks like he is part of the team.

Yes, it is better to contact the bounty manager and see his point of view. He may not really know that this token is a fraudulent project, so it is better not to accuse him before giving him a chance to defend himself.

Although the bounty manager has 2 negative tags on his profile, it is better not to rush to judge him until we know his exact position.

Very good investigation, well done.

Just post a bounty and there are hoardes of newbies coming in to join that with POA posts. They dont do any background checks on the manager nor the project. These same people will come back to the altcoin sections and complain that bounties dont pay anymore.

No use trying to contact the manager, they have been doing such scams and will continue doing so in future. Just flag tag and move on. If a newbie falls for it even after so much red paint, then it is their fault.

Flag supported from my end.

The bounty section is not what it used to be, bounty hunters even if there's a report of a scam or fake project will just continue to submit reports, they don't care they just join as many projects as they can, it's more of quantity over quality, even if the project is real there's no guarantee that they will get the promised token sometimes bounty managers run away with the token that he escrow, and sometimes before they receive the token, the token has no value anymore.
