I spent five years away from friends and family, because whenever I bring up how crypto can be life-changing they always discourage me, maybe because I lost some money to few trades and I was not that good at trading at the time, I got mad one day and I left the city and move to another city, because they won't let me be and they felt I will waste my life away.

Today, I now own a home and a nice ride, I was able to get married and settle down, but now they feel like they made a huge mistake for not listening to me. I believe this was the best decision I've ever made, I was able to gathered some BTC in 2019  to 2020 bear market and also with the help of my trading skills.

Only God knows what would have happened if I never left, my mind kept telling me to venture into crypto at the time and even my own family shut the idea down.

I don't know why and now they are asking for my help, I have to do it since they are my family, and even my friends are asking for help, would you help your discouraging friends if you are in my shoe? They were my friends, but not anymore, I believe friends should be supportive of each other, am I wrong.

If you are a crypto newbie, make sure you set your mind on your goals, do not be discouraged by anyone, people can't see the future, we are not gods or demigods who can read the future, do not listen to any naysayers.

Wow, your story about how people treat you when you are unsure of your beliefs was so heartbreaking. It would be a good idea for a new investor to put any thoughts about a bitcoin investment in the back of his mind because no matter how challenging it is, it will undoubtedly be successful because no one is born to lose.
In addition, if your family is asking for your assistance, you should assist them and forget about everything they did because no matter what, they are still your family, they might be thinking something else because I believe they don't know much about bitcoin investment. You can even help your friends by showing them that you have a good heart and making them believe that investing in bitcoin is a good way to achieve your goals in life.

No one will want to believe in what you're saying if the result is not showing in you, you want to talk about bitcoin to someone you know very well, there's high tendencies they won't believe byou until they see the results in you, they may also consider how internet scam is going wide on the digital networks as everyone wants to get rich quick and scam is increasing, they may not want to be scammed the secon time but only your own result will convince them enough in giving a try.

You can't blame anyone for this, do you know how many times families have safe some people from grave mistakes? They have every right to try and stop you because this days everything online is 90% scam, I don't know if anyone have heard about MMM before? It is a Ponzi scheme and many people took this to their homes and confused their friends and families to invest, they end up losing all their money, I believe this is why some people don't believe in Bitcoin and they don't bother to do research because they have male up their minds that Bitcoin is scam.

So anyone, most especially, parents will try to stop you if you bring any online investment idea to them as your new goal, this doesn't mean they hate you, it is love. You took the risk and it favored you, I am happy for you, but do not blame anyone for discouraging you. Sometimes, when a door opens, only you will see a way through and those close to you will see something else.

I don't know if your story is real or not. But in summary you are trying to show us that you got rich trading crypto and you left your house, family and friends for not supporting you in your crypto trading. Now somehow you got rich from crypto trading and now your friends and family are trying to get you back or they ask for help from you. Now you are confused about whether you help them or not.

At first, you should not have left your family just they discourage you from doing what you were doing with crypto/bitcoin. It was not a good move from you.
I agreed with the part don't get discouraged by others but also don't leave your family just because they don't see the potential of what you are doing.

Newbies must try all decisions, so if they never have had any experience of losing money, they will not give up and be cured. I believe successful people out there have very much experience with losing millions of dollar money before success. and that will be whipped for the better in the future.

Newbie, If you never try anything, you will be a weak person, let's try to be lost a lot of money, and learn from that experience to be strong and know what is good and what is bad before make the decision.

Trading in general — regardless if cryptocurrency trading or not, is such a difficult path to take that you really can't blame people for being skeptical/cautious. Long-term success rates are staggeringly bad that you're better off doing something else instead.

Assuming you're telling a true story of you doing well, don't get too cocky — because not because you did well in the past, doesn't automatically you're going to do well in the long-term.

I hope you are content with what you have received. But can a person be happy when his family needs something? No one is obliged to believe you in any of your ideas; another thing is important. How much do you believe in it yourself? And only after receiving the results can you say that you are a winner. I don’t understand what the grudge is. But if you refuse to help your friends or family today, how are you different from them?

People should be above harboring resentment against their relatives. And so if you are talking about friends as unimportant people, you probably have never had friends, or you do not understand the whole meaning of real friendship.

However, your family and friends have advised you well. It's just that maybe you are overinterpreting it and not taking any good out of it. Good people will give good advice based on what they have experienced or heard bad stories.
Anywhere, someone more experienced than you in crypto trading will be the first to warn of the risks instead of profits. You should be aware of the risks regardless of how involved you are in the crypto space.

In my lifetime, I have never seen anyone with a testimony of success, who didn't attribute it to following their path. I.e, sheer focus on their goals, shunning all forms all distractions that comes from environment, neighbors, friends and family, even colleagues. It works like magic elixir and am not surprised it worked for you OP.

 It's important to have something that drives you. In that way, it'd be easy to have a reason to be determined and focused. You were probably angry and disappointed that your folks just lost faith in you after an investment went south but I'm real glad that you stuck to your guns and your focus paid off.

And to think that trading is not for everyone seeing how hard it is, then you can’t put your shoe on to them and blame them for being unsupportive. Just be grateful that you succeed and live a comfortable life right now. But then again, no matter how good you are in trading, that won’t guarantee that you are excuse from losing. You can be profitable today, but maybe tomorrow you will also suffer from a great loss, that’s why trading is somewhat like gambling, it’s never a win-win all the time.

I don’t see any success if you are still hurting deep within. Yes, you are in profits right now, but you can never hold the grudge against your family forever. Family no matter what happens, will always be your family. And real friends will always be friends forever. That’s why instead of hating them because they weren’t there when you need their support, why not share your success to them so that all of you will experience the good life that trading has given you. If your friends who initially discouraged you from investing in bitcoin require your assistance and guidance, you should teach them. You can’t hold a grudge against your family for giving you advice which they believed was the best at the time. Ever put yourself in their shoes? Imo they were being supportive in the way they could. Imagine it was difficult for them watching you everyday on a computer looking at graphs and charts. Truth to told, bitcoin trading as a full time job seem unorthodox to our parents and they assume it’s same as gambling. You can’t hate a person for being ignorant, you can only teach them to see your point of view. Forget the past, you are living good now I think you should be supportive of your family.

Trading has always its uncertainties. Even good traders cannot secure profits all the time, as they may eventually lose in some days especially if they trade when the market is not stable. So just be happy because you have made huge profits from trading, but do not expect that you will experience being profitable all the time. And never think that you knew everything about trading, as even professional traders even fail in times when they least expect it.

Speaking of supportive friends, that you are being discouraged by your friends not to invest in cryptos doesn't mean they aren't being supportive. I think they are in there own capacity, trying to save you from a lose as they don't know any better. The level of support you would get is that which comes from how much they know which in this case, is only lose and you presumably know better and so, you stay your course. That your friends don't see opportunity where you find one doesn't mean they are not being supportive!

You've done yourself good in not listening to the FUD they tried to sell you. Risks is indeed rewarding to the darery. You took your chances and you've won. That proving of yourself as a success is a good enough lesson for your friends. If you can aid them in whatever capacity that brings you peace, you should. It's good for you that you managed to get success after taking that decision, otherwise, your words wouldn't have been the same. Your friends and family were not wrong from their side, since they probably didn't know much about it, and just because they used to discourage you, it doesn't mean they were against you, but they were simply against the fact that you might ruin yourself and your life.

You're asking if you should help them after how they reacted to you before? In my opinion you should assess that. If I were in your position, I'll probably be picky. If I have time and I do not have any conflict with the person, I'll definitely share some knowledge to them.

This is exactly my thought, why hate on them or feel grudges, it's better to prove to them that you are a better person that them, because you portraying any bad thought towards your friends due to the past event or experience you had makes you exactly like the people you are despising, so I think letting go makes you a better man and human being. For sure this story touches everyone who read this and yes you are right about discouragement because we are living in the world of judgment so we can not deny the fact that even our family member spoke to us discouraging words. But for yourself just go on your decision like what you did Op you've been away from your friends for some couple of year in order to trust your decision and and then you will be successful today. This story is the best for new in investing that ( we must trust ourself and be positive thinker).

Family will always be family so whatever misunderstandings you had before, forget it and instead help them so they can also live a good life. However, in the case of your friends, I don’t think they become unsupportive to you, maybe they don’t just like the idea about crypto so they will never encourage you to embrace crypto. But maybe in some aspects, they are there to support you so they are still your real friends after all.

Do not focus on hatred or revenge, instead learn to see the positive side that you are now capable to help them so never turn your back on them. It's not easy to forgive someone who has underestimated or belittled us, but we must try to forget it for our own good.

I'm going through this. To be honest, my economy is getting so much better by investing in bitcoin, and now I'm belittling the people who used to belittle and criticize me for not making money and wasting time investing in bitcoin. Many times when I sit alone and think back, I find myself making the same mistakes as they did in the past. But when I saw them, I recalled the words they threw at me, I was really angry and didn't want to share bitcoins with my loved ones. I still can't get rid of my hatred to help them.

You shouldn't  expect full support from family or friends because they dont see what you see, they cant understand the positive impact you want to make in life. People will discourage whatever idea you bring depending on their own level of understanding about improvement. Most discouragings comes from family, friends, relatives but that does not mean that when you succed you shouldn't estend a helping hand. I believe family will want you to do better. OP, Personally, I would never recommend you to share your personal things with all your friends, some things should always remain private, especially when they have to do with finances.
In this way, you would avoid many misunderstandings and problems with your friends.

In life, not only money and our personal goals are important, but also our relationships with other people, and family relationships.

No body interested with your offering about how promising when investing assets in cryptocurrency exactly with Bitcoin due you still loss and poor, their mindset think about you were crazy and Bitcoin investment based on their mind are gambling or hype investment way. Do you know that a lot of people have lost a significant amount of money in online investing because they didn't have someone to advice them in initial stage.

On your story, you said, you were able to get married and settled down that's good 👍.  If not for the help of your parents you wouldn't have gotten married by now and you will still be single and again your parents are your everything nothing but them, they were always for you in your times of needs but not until you left your parents house. I could remembered countless times I have been stopped not to hold my phone or sit with my laptop because they thought I was doing internet fraudster called "Yahoo" everyone was against me even my uncle whom I thought is knowledgeable enough to understand my situation was as well against me because he doesn't understand bitcoin and cryptocurrency. After a little break through from some of my investment I had to open my system and show them what I was doing all these while, today they supports me and even if I am with my system or phone bending down doing my business they don't stress me anymore because they have seen the results and the truth.

I will suggest you also explain to them as well.

I have experienced something similar to what you get. Even my father told me to find a more promising job to earn income. But I still insist on trying what I want first, especially from the internet, because opportunities to earn or make money are possible. And after I did it, I gave gifts to my mom and dad and said this is what I did and it's not much because I'm still a beginner and need to learn more.

Finally, they support what I do because they see progress in what I do. At that time, I only dreamed of being independent and having an income and even though I knew it would be hard to get there, but I still tried.

Because you got a house and a nice ride. People tend to believe one if there is a result that they are seeing. Some of them hesitant cause they are still at doubt during the time they are being informed of it but now that they see you with achievements that you have made. The reality speaks when they asked you again for help. Also help them, its not that they throw you out before but even so still help them with all you can do especially they are still your family. All their families want their closest people to be successful in the future, so I think what they have done to you before is a natural thing, especially at that time bitcoin was not very popular so it made your family worry what if you will lose everything investing with bitcoin but the great thing is that now you have proven yourself to them that the choice you choose can make your life better. Actually you will not being discouraged if don’t tell them what you are doing. You don’t have any obligations to encourage them on what you are doing because it’s your own decision and you discover it by yourself so why will you being affected by others that doesn’t have any experience on it. You took the right decision to leave the city because they would have really discouraged you to abandon what you so much believed in. To avoid a confrontation that might lead to an argument or even fighting, it is better to walk away. Most families will feel the same way because they expect you to get a job and raise a family but they are disappointed because you are always in front of a computer or phone and you are also losing money. They might think you are wasting your time and money.

The reactions you get from people or certain circumstances shouldn't change you negatively. If you a generally a good person, then be good. If it was your desire to aid them in the past, you should by all means do what you must but, perhaps with a price (by price, i don't mean it must be money) and a little much stressful this time. At least, you've got to make them understand that opportunities aren't left hanging around for them to ride on at anytime. It's slippery and slips away at any point but, I don't really blame them for doubting. Besides, your meant to do your own research before going both feet deep in and looking out for some proof could be that for them.

people who laugh at or discourage you I'm sure they are people who have never seen the process in any case whether it's in work, ability, and included in your investment journey in bitcoin. people like them never try new opportunities. and if there isn't a good, profitable result yet, people like them won't believe it. so your step to evacuate from an environment like that is indeed the right step.

I am sorry for how you are mistreated by your family, when people share this type of story I always feel like the luckiest person ever because I was never treated in such a manner.

I was well supported before I have something good to show for it, sometimes, parents are the real culprit when their children fail, they want results from them but they don't believe in their dreams, this is saddening to hear.

My father gave me all his time when he was still alive, he supported me and my goals, he encouraged me more than my mother, I was able to become successful because of his encouragement and love, I will raise my children the same way, by God's grace.

I agree to fact that focusing on our goals is a number one priority for achieving one's interest in life because I believe that what we hardly worked for there is always a reward for that. You might fall at first but if time is given you will surely reach your goal, in all i am concluding at that given time and patience is the best way to achieve our goals

Because your friend and family did not encourage you when you needed them should not stop you from helping them now that you are fine. You won't blame them because they never had the idea, they didn't see what you saw then, to them they thought they were helping you to do the right thing which every good family and friends will always do. But it was so good that you never allowed their ignorance to quench your goals and your targets.

You have no choice than to help them, your results of your investment has open their eyes to learn to be on the right part, so urge you to be nice to those who never supported you. You have to understand not everyone will support you, what you need to prove to them is the result of your goal.

Op what happened to you is a normal irony of life,most people will never support your little beginning unless they start seeing results, again don't feel it's everyone that believes and trust in crypto, so to me I will say don't blame them much for not supporting your little beginning, always treat me as family and Friends as usual, and I will also say a big congratulations to you on your achievements through crypto...

You just explain how a normal family function, first they laughed at you and discouraged you from chasing after your dreams and when you listen to them and fail you get laughed at again but if you held strong and chase that dream as you did, you become successful then they start coming closed still you shouldn't pay them back with evil because they were just looking out for you. They didn't want you to take risk because some of them did and failed. They wanted you to take the easiest route to what they call been successful which is securing a job and waiting on salary then become a slave for money.

Families don't support dreams but strangers do, which is why we're advice to consider those strangers we meet daily as our key to success and not our family. Still though family is everything, don't turn your back on them as at the end of the day all we're doing is trying to secure the bag so we can give a good life to our family members and that extends to our extebded family like uncles and nieces etc. Turning back on your family when you have finally made it could cost you more than you imagined so it's best you embrace them but don't give them too much access into your life or they'll start all over again, that's just family.

I hope you see it that your family and friends mean well by warning you of online investments. There's a proverb in my local dialect that says it's only the person that loves you that will tell you that your mouth is smelling. They loved you so much that they warned you and you took the risk and it paid off. So, you shouldn't have grudges with them but rather thank God that you have loving people around you.

I am not sure if what I am gonna say is making sense to you or the one reading this post but here's what I feel about this situation.
So OP is doing good "currently" and is well settled. But that doesn't mean it's all gonna be rainbow and sunshine all the time.
We can't really say how long the profits will sustain and so OP has to be prepared for that.
Coming to family and friends asking for help then as a human being OP should definitely support his family and friends.
But at the same time, we must know that if things don't go right then they might come back at OP because it didn't workout well for them.
Some might even go to an extent of blaming OP for not supporting at will and misguiding them and making them lose money.
So OP has to make sure they are investing at their own risk and be wise enough to handle the situation if arises.

I just can imagine how much confidence you have on yourself like if my parents told me something i could not do, i make a Stagnant mind and will not even give it a try. I would love to know how you managed all this, like when you left home, how much money did you have back then and how did you make such money to buy a home, ride, and earn a wife (with respect and trust) like really bro. I am in crypto in my 3rd year and only bought a phone and managed my study expenses plus household expenses (only a few times). But never imagined of getting a new house and ride but love to do that. If you could teach me (i know it's up to you but your story has blown me away.

The funny thing is no one discouraged me as your parents and friends did, but still, i am afraid of many things like due to less knowledge (of trading). And i will follow your tip to make a progressive mindset actually in the start i set up my mind to earning only $1k per year ( i know that's too low) but i was ok and tend to make efforts as i have no investment. I did future trading and lost the investment that i saved from my scholarship. So from then to now, i did not get a chance to trade but now i will make some extra money and try to earn more.

if you're in a good position and you think you can support them in any way, it's best you do it, not because the are or were your friends but because we rise by lifting others and we aren't supposed to be nice to people because the where there for us.

The thing is there’s no need to get discouraged if you know exactly what you are doing, and that you have high hopes that eventually you’ll succeed in the end. Just trust the process and never lost hope, after all your family and friends who became unsupportive that time are the reason why you became so motivated to pursue your investment so that you can prove to them later on that they’re wrong in their prediction. You're lucky to have come from a country where such recorded short time successes aren't attributed to have come from crime or fraud. In my country, those friends of yours would even accuse you of indulging internet fraud because most of them are cynics who can't comprehend that one can make it big in crypto. I was once in your position, when I believed Bitcoin was a potential digital asset while others said that Bitcoin was a scam, but fortunately at that time my parents still supported me, even though they advised me not to spend too much money to invest in Bitcoin, but I think that's pretty good advice.

Finally, people who were skeptical of Bitcoin before are now asking me for advice, and I complied by recommending good exchanges and crypto learning websites. But unlike you, I don't give/lend them money, I don't think it's necessary because it's their problem not mine, first they never lend me money so why am I being too kind to them.

Someone will start to trust us when we show established success. but if we invite someone to follow us even though we haven't found success then it's normal if someone doubts us and even belittles us.

that's why I prefer not to talk too much. I prefer to do more and prove it myself. because if we are successful then people will follow us automatically without us having to invite them first.

and when someone asks for help or advice, it will be wiser if we continue to help and provide advice, but on condition that we are indeed able to help and provide advice that will not be misleading. if it's family or friends then we can help them even though they may have hurt our feelings but of course we don't want to hurt their feelings back. because we know how it feels like a pain that we feel when our heart hurts.

I agree with your opinion, I think maybe this is one of the right and good ways, and it doesn't seem to force someone to believe in Bitcoin but makes them believe and be aware of themselves because they see our success.

Yes you are right, as human beings we should help each other and always do good. Even if someone belittles us or doubts us, we shouldn't hold grudges against them. Because life will sometimes need each other.
Our life is sometimes not always in a good condition, it could be that one day we are in a bad condition and really need help, if we hold grudges and don't help someone who used to underestimate us, but it turns out that a good opportunity to help us is someone who used to belittle and doubt us.
If something like that happens, we will definitely regret our attitude and behavior towards that person.

That is a good idea to set your mindset into completing your goals or achieving your goals. If someone do the same way then maybe one day they can achieve it too. I seen plenty of newbies who post in this forum about merits and ranking up nowadays compared to doing something that will become or consideras contribution in the forum. If a person's mindset is to focus on earning merit then that person won't be able to get lots of merits that easily rather than learning more.

Everyone seems to have a goal and a target in life,but everyone cannot end up being thesame in terms of how successful they would be.I believe everyone has destiny,but the effort individual put towards making that destiny a reality is what makes the difference.Some persons are born with a silver spoon,while some were not born into a wealthy background, therefore,before they will get to a certain height,or before they can be financially stable,they must work so hard,and do everything possible to be at the top,knowing very well that they weren't born with a silver spoon.

I belong to that category,who must work so hard to get to the height I want,in order for my dreams to be materialised,I put a set target for my self every year,and try my possible best to meet that target.This is what I've been doing,and I am happy the little way I am now,and with my progress so far,I know the future has the best for me.

Those birthed with a silver spoon most often don't outsmart a determined person who wants to succeed in an industry but was born in an average home. It all depends on the tool each person works with, hand, brain or the both. An idea can't be bought with money except the person who has the idea wants to share and sell the idea. Hence the focus is for both the rich and broke, though it could be harder for the broke person yet it's an open market. The person with the most focus and tactics would win in the industry and top the industry. We all have to come up with ideas that'll get us to the top and as well outsmart our competitors. No matter how long it took for the dream to be achieved what matters is that it'll come to be real, that's the joy of a determined person regardless of their background.

So many dreams have been quashed just because the dreamer decides to live to please their family and friends stead of chasing their dream and passion. If we live our live to please other people we would only be living their own designed life for us and such a life is no different from being dead. 

Imagine how OP would have missed such opportunity in 2019/2020  if he had listened to his family and friends discouragement. Today they would have turned back mocking him of not following his dreams seeing how bitcoin has gained value today compared to sometime 2019.
They are still family, at least you have proved them wrong by chasing your dream and achieving it in ways they never expected, so prove them more wrong again by rendering them the help they seek. But render it to the limit you can be able to, don't milk yourself as a way to impress them.

Focus on goals must be instilled in our mindset. And we also have to make our goals become a trigger to increase the level of motivation within us. [/quote]that's the best way to do it. Trading will not look at friends or not, because everyone has their own trading style and how well they understand the science of trading. There will definitely be a risk of loss and it is a risk that must be realized by yourself. If your friends demand to always make a profit, then they don't understand how the mechanics of trading work. It's not easy to make correct and consistent trades, it requires a lot of experience and good trading knowledge.

Yes. that's obvious, especially if the focus is on the point of making a profit. This requires experience and solid understanding because trading in the crypto world involves risks, . maybe not everyone accepts defeat for it. I think by communicating more intensely the meeting point can be either the strength or the weak side so that an understanding of the market is easy to understand.

Op has no better option that to help his family to get to a level where they would not be disturbing him again. A lot of things had happens so they have learnt there mistake of not belittle things that matter to you just because they think you might not make it in life. This are the mistakes many people are making because they do not like you doing a particular thing, so they won't want to support you. All we have to do is to make sure we follow our dream and be ambitious to get to where we I tend to each no matter how severe is the frustration.

And if someone has understood in depth what trading is then of course that person will not blame anyone if he experiences a loss. Because losses in trading are normal. Even not only in crypto but in trading in the real world we cannot always avoid losses. like a fruit seller in the market and the fruit doesn't sell well and ends up rotting. and that is the risk of loss in the real world. And even in crypto there must be such a thing as a loss. It's like buying at a high and selling at a low because of panic. Life has a way of giving you the negative impression just to see how you can get to your goal, is all about determination to get to where you feel is best for you.
If you hadn't followed your mind by ditching all those negative things said by your friends and family you won't have gotten to where you are now. I don't mind there either. I'd rather spend time focusing on my goal and asking for no support from them because sometimes they become a reason why we never go where we wanted to be. They will just later that what we did is for the best for them, not just ourselves. That is why sometimes we need to stay away from these people in order for them to realize the value of our presence and help. Because as long as they won't realize their mistakes, they won't learn from them and still claiming themselves that they are right and we are wrong.

And we also have to grow stronger motivation within ourselves (stronger drive) to be able to achieve success and prove to them that we are on the right path. and prove that we can be successful even without their help.

And an important fact in life is people tend to underestimate any work that has not arrived at success / is still in progress. And instead they will be excited and start following with greed after seeing people have arrived at success. and they forget that people who have achieved success must first go through a long process full of obstacles. The point is people sometimes underestimate a process and even though there is no success without a process at the beginning. so also in crypto. many people underestimate bitcoin in the early days bitcoin was born. but look now the person who underestimated it was wrong.

As said in the topic created, it's advisable to set your mind and goals clearly. When set, you have to work towards them for you to achieve them. Mind as said is the way individual reason i.e rational thought while goal is what you set to achieve in future.
I have several goals have set for myself and with dedication and hard work with out relenting have being able to achieve some while pushing for the remaining ones to be achieved. Work towards your goals and mind, then your future will be secured.
