Hell no! That would be a recipe for a disaster especially to those people who put a lot of their time and effort to create a digital artwork from scratch. And I think that's a blatant disrespect.

But why ask though? Are there any instances where people from previous Roobet contests submitted an A.I generated digital artwork?

I'm not 100% sure, but I have a hunch that this is AI art.


As you can see on the mouth part there are two mouth lines. There are no work-in progress images, so it made me think that way.

I'd like to add this one here. Since someone already opened the topic. There are multiple anomalies in this image, the kangaroo having 3 legs and 3 ears. This user actually won in another contest with what I think is also an AI generated image.

I'd like to get the attention of Hhampuz to revise the mechanics of this contest. Using an art generation platform should be prohibited as it defeats the sole purpose of this contest which is to bring out its participants creativity. Also, the judges should be aware of such art presented to them.

Shouldn't the use of A.I in creating artwork be prohibited in the first place regardless of whether it is included in the fine print of the contest?

If these artworks are proven to be A.I generated images, maybe I can understand a bit if they've just put some effort to edit those extra limbs, mouth lines or whatever extras that makes the artworks suspicious. Because, still, that is considered an effort. :-\

Well this is an interesting topic to be discussed, which I find it's bit unfair to those who create artwork from scratch. But it's much harder to tell if it's an AI art than spotting plagiarism. In previous contests, Hhampuz mentioned that if you have images of your progress, you could upload it in separate platform such imgur and put the link. I think to avoid this kind of issue, the participants should do it for current and next contests.

Please note that the main point of this contest is to have fun with your talent, love, sense of humor, and of course to strengthen our bitcoin community. It's sad to see someone does unethical things just for getting money.

Thanks for bringing this issue, however it's also unfair to not hear the statements from those accused users. I still believe that you guys created those lovely artworks from scratch. Cheers.

I'm curious if this was discussed before, but when I have no time to create actual art independently, I outsource and pay someone to create the digital art for me. So for this one, I did outsource it, so I asked him, and he said that it wasn't AI. I hope this doesn't disqualify me from joining this contest, and I will also show work-in-progress images. :-[

If this is not AI, I assume you can provide the source file with layers for this work as you said that you have paid for it. Because if he can't, I think he's lying.

Well this is a contest, not a business, where you buy stuff, sell it to other and gain profit. We perhaps have seen some users uploaded artworks that was not created by themselves, but they told us about that. If you have no time to create, you can just leave it and join the next one. Perhaps what you did isn't technically wrong, since there is no specific rule about that. But that's an unethical thing to do. Imagine you have a test to get a job, and your competitor paid someone smarter than him to do the test. I think that's unfair. Beside that, what you did might encourage other people to do the same, by just simply paying some professional artist to create the artwork. I think it doesn't disqualify you from the contest, and I know your are a regular participant. But it might change the perception of judges when judging your artwork. I wish there is no such case again in future.

Actually, I got some reports that there might be some alt accounts in this art contest, but I ignore it since there is no solid proof. So hopefully the accusation is wrong. Let's make this contest great and fun again. You don't need to be a great artist to join, just create it from your own imagination, express it, and give a proper theme. The first submission by JanEmil is cool! Good luck guys!

That's a pretty cool contest.  You don't see a whole lot of advertising these days from the Roobet team after the "Roo Team Six" and the Lamborghini incident.  Nice to see them step back into the advertising space with something like this.  Snoop is definitely a much cooler promoter than sixnine (who was in the news yesterday for an incident at his gym where he was jumped in the bathroom by some crazies).  While this might be a step back from the Lamborghini prize, it's still great to see.  Good luck to everyone who is participating.

That's what I think too. Writing a proper prompt isn't an easy task, actually. You will never get something good looking quick. Even if you have an amazing idea, you will be rewriting the prompt again and again before getting anything representative. And there's a chance you will never make it anyway.

I agree with the posters above saying that concealing the fact that the image was made with the help of AI is unethical, but I think such images can be submitted in the Digital Art category if this fact is not concealed.

I personally think it would be fun to see what these latest AI technologies could come up with. I would submit a pic myself. :)

But, of course, it's up to the organizers to decide whether it's allowed or not.

I want to clarify the materials that artists can use to apply for the first category "Hand Drawn Art" (Pen and Paper):
Can we use only pen or pencil with one color, or we can use a set of colored pens or pencils?

and your first entry doesn't fall under painting either, it's also digital.
It was just made with a Photo Editor App and it was quite easy to make.
Just use the Filters that are already available.


My suggestion would be to enter it in the Digital ART category, that would be more appropriate.

You guys are amazing, wish I could produce something like that. I'm especially amazed by hand drawn/painted ones and that model with lights and figures.

Correct. Unicode doesn't change the category, it's still digital art, not craft.
Digital art is everything you make in the digital form, craft is physical. You can't take that unicode picture and give it to someone, unless you print, thus it is digital.

Categories are not hard to define if you consider only the end result. Imagine that you make a digital art, print it, cut it into a template and spray paint it onto a surface, like a t-shirt, or a wall of a building. That in my view will fall into the craft category, even though template used to be digital.

Not a participant, but I have actually been following of this thread, saw lot's of interesting entries and was hoping for a voting to start to that I could vote my favorite art works, that could have been the little I could have offered.

@Sir Hhampuz, Sorry to ask, how are winners usually selected ? Noticed their was no form of voting opened on this thread.

There's a number of judges who give points to each work individually and they are later combined to find the winners. I would not want to do open voting simply because it would be easily abused.
