Title: [Winners announced] 🥧 1st edition - Bitcointalk Pie Baking Contest 🥧
Post by: RickDeckard on March 30, 2023, 10:30:47 PM

When life happens I guess we can't fight against it - I'm sorry for absence from this event (and forum) lately. Without any further due, and after counting all the valid votes, I'm proud to announce that the winners are:

A total of 82 votes were taken into account, with only two entries not being considered ( making a total of 80 edible votes):

  • JayJuanGee - Rule broken (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5444932.msg61939000#msg61939000) (No merit sending is allowed from nominees to users which nominated them)
  • 1miau - I can't split a vote into 5 :( (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5444932.msg61949270#msg61949270)

As we got a final prize pool of 0.0145 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5439781.msg61759814#msg61759814) BTC, here's the distribution and the amount that each user should send to the winners:

As a closing remark I would like to congratulate all the winners and everyone who made this contest possible, ranging from all the users who submitted their entries, the ones that voted for them and the ones that also contributed to the prize pool. Loooooool why not? I am sure that 1miau will be very upset to see that his 0.2 votes were not awarded to his nominees  ;D

Thanks for the contest and the votes!

Happy with the 4th place, winning is not everything :) .

Hopefully we can see another contest like this anytime soon, maybe something pizza related like Someone already suggested.

Congrats to all the winners. It was very beautiful to see the effort of all the participants to present their best pie. Some look quite delicious. :P

Thank you @RickDeckard for organizing this event, and for also accepting it from the community. Next year we expect more.  ;)

@GazetaBitcoin don't make excuses! You should have shared your pie with everyone! You and all other participants!  >:(

For next year, I'll only vote if I try the pies! 8)

Congrats for the winners, and thanks RickDeckard for bringing another fun event on bitcointalk. It's not easy to initiate this event but you made it, not just because of your strong initiative only, but also your great attitude towards everyone. People can feel it and we enjoy this event together. Thanks to icopress, betnomi, and theymos for the support. Well seems we gonna need a Bitcointalk's calendar where all of important events in this forum could be written there, such as this pie contest, pizza, and pumping carving.

Btw sorry for not joining the vote, as I had so many favorites in my mind. It would be just useless if I kept putting multiple votes because it wouldn't be counted lol. Damn I really want to taste all of those pies. Cheers guys!

Congrats to @GazetaBitcoin, @MK-74 and @Becassine! You all had excellent entries, well done! :)

I didn't vote, because I couldn't decide who had the yummiest-looking pie. Maybe next year we can use a system where each voter gets 10 points to spend on up to 5 entries, or something like that?

I've sent my allocation [1] of the prize pool (787a73f365d2b207f26444fdde642392d95f10e41d900c5fa5d37702ab5644a8 (https://mempool.space/tx/787a73f365d2b207f26444fdde642392d95f10e41d900c5fa5d37702ab5644a8)).

[1] I used the figures in the linked spreadsheet, because there was a small mistake in the OP (0.002 vs. 0.0002 for Becassine).

Man, the competition is indeed strong after seeing some very solid entries, save for the plagiarizer.

Grats to the winners!

I guess it's better late than never... I'm sorry that I was only able to send yesterday but considering the fees that I've used I'm sure that by now you've noticed that I also paid for my part of the pot. You can check the transaction here[1].

Thank you @Porfirii, @Daltonik and @PowerGlove for the timely transactions, you guys went beyond the call of duty!

I'll keep the thread open for one more week and then I'll close it as a way to end the chapter of this year pie baking contest. Once again, congratulations to all the winners!

EDIT 17/04: Shame on me, two weeks have passed. Guess it is time to lock the thread. Once again, thank you everyone that was involved in this contest!
