Some days looks like a curse day, I wanted to keep it to myself but I felt it more reasonable to share. I involved in some business investment which initially the promise was really good after week of deal, I just back from work, I saw a call from my colleague we did the business together and I call back to hear him crying on phone. That the business we involved into is fake and the office is close, the MD has disappeared, for two minutes I was shivering with sweat because that's the highest amount I have involved business so far. Am regretting to have used in bitcoin by now I would have be on advantage with bullish price.

I have not gotten myself this days. Do you feel down when such sudden hits happens to you?

The returns from Ponzi or fake investments will always be attractive. So the first sign you must check out before investing is the promised profit because scammers will keep it high to make the business look extraordinary. I think your loss is a sign that you are not really reading and applying the information from this forum. Or maybe the profit (greed) overshadowed your sense of reasoning. I am pleased that you have learned a lesson but sorry because you learned it the hard way. You and your friend should accept the loss in good faith. It's painful to lose your hard-earned money but you must stay healthy and alive to make money. My advice is don't think too much because it could affect your emotion, health, and almost everything around you.

Another thing to bear in mind is that if something is too good to be true, it probably is.

It is normal to feel like that but try to look at a bright future and start working for it as soon as possible. The lower the low, the higher the high.

People say that grieving the loss of money is like grieving the loss of a child. And I believe that just as a child is nurtured with care, money has to be worked hard for and after hard work when the desired money comes in hand but with that money we fulfill many hopes or needs of our daily life. And the remaining money is deposited in their locker very carefully so that there is no loss of that money. But when that money is lost in a moment, the grief is understandable. The only thing you can understand is the grief you feel after losing money.

Like you I was a victim of such a situation. And the last few days I have been different from the time I was subjected to such a situation. I was pretty devastated to say the least.  This happened when I invested in Luna Coin. Within a day, my hard-earned huge amount of investment was wiped out. I could not control myself. However, I came out of that time with much difficulty. And then I could understand what it would be like to grieve the loss of money.

I will certainly feel down also if this happens to me. It's a normal reaction. Money is hard to earn and if it's easily burned like that, it will really be painful. It would also make me angry.

It is good that you share it here. Let it out. Talking to somebody about it will surely be of help. At the end of the day, however, we have no choice but to move on. But it doesn't mean you won't have to fight for your money. By all means, report it to the authorities. Collect all the evidences and file a case in court. Not only do you need to get your money back, the scammers should also be caught, prosecuted, and jailed for their crimes. And also so that they cannot victimize other people anymore.

Its natural for someone to lose money in a business he didn't make appropriate searched on, maybe it could be that the gain which was promised to you were much making you not focusing on the risk aspect. You know as man or investor never you channel your thinking on the profits side of it rather look deeper than that otherwise, whenever you raise a huge amount of money to invest in that business it happens to sink down, if not with the grace of God it would amount you getting collapse without any reason. That is why before venture into business also look at the advantage and the disadvantages that involves in the business before getting your funds into it.

This was a reason i ever rely on bitcoin investment than any other investment out there because whenever you invested in bitcoin you may not lost all the bitcoin but rather the dollar equivalent might depreciate leaving you only the btc value in your address or wallet. So anytime the price of bitcoin gets to the usual price then you get back your equivalent in dollars.

Anyway, i feels so sorry for you because i know this is a very hard time for everyone but take heart. So its to me when i also made huge lost out there.

We hear about such scams every now and then. Recently there is a scam in my country where people lost millions of rupees because they invested in an app that recently turned out to be ponzi, Pakistanis lose millions to IDA app that turns out to be crypto Ponzi scam (https://pakobserver.net/pakistanis-lose-millions-to-ida-app-that-turns-out-to-be-crypto-ponzi-scam/). That ponzi platform hire services of digital content creators, who advertised the platform to people who later were the victims.


Its useless to cry over spilled milk. Just get over that incident and never invest in ponzi schemes. Why investing anywhere when we have Bitcoin.

Depending on which kinds losing money, from investment like hype or ponzi its not matter because I know bigger risk waiting for when investing in ponzi project, but some time most disappointed when losing money trough my wallet hacked. I can't talk any words ever in this position losing much money in my wallet after hacking but keep wake up and take another opportunity getting much money more than have loss.
Losing money in Ponzi have risk because we know about Ponzi is not exist for longer time, entry or investing in the early will get return and earn profit but not applicable when investing in Ponzi after late. I don't think get return back when investing in Ponzi and have prepare my self for losing money with Ponzi investment.

I have nothing much to say to you in this regard as you didn't let us know the magnitude of the money in question to know how painful it could be. But still, I'm sorry for your loss, but you have to take heart and know it is part of life. No one will lose money and will not feel hurt unless the person is a vandal. Nobody is happy to lose money, money is not easy to make some when one looses money it hurt a lot, everyone one there own experience of what it feel when we do lose money, unless that peeson didn't work for that money, if you work for your money and you losses it in one way or another then u will know how it feels, I have a friend who using his life saving  to invest, he didn't ask question and did everything without even talking to me his friend, then he lost the money, he almost died, it took a very long time before he could get his self. So all am saying it that nobody is happy to lose money

That's sad to hear OP, hope we learn from out mistakes and always double check to where we invest since it's still money that you're risking. You could do some research first about the business background if its legit and registered because we can't always trust a recommendation especially if they introduced it to you without important information. That's also one of the common mistakes, if you don't afford to risk your money in someone calls then be independent on doing your own calls since its your money you can't blame others since you insist on taking the risk. It's part of the experience to get scammed actually I got scammed multiple times with different scenarios due to some of them looks literally legit and also have papers that seems real. I handled this situations by taking it as a lesson and look forward as I can't change the past, but of course report those scammers for other people to be aware.

That will be going to happen from trusting an investment that promises huge ROI in just a few days. I understand what you feel but can't blame any person other than yourself. Background research first is very important if you're gonna invest your money on someone or something. You never learn until something happened, so I hope you do better the next time. The best choice is to accept it and move on, you can file a case about it but it'll cost you even more and will take much of your time, but it depends on what legal actions you guys wanted to do about it.

It's normal to feel down after such bad investment, or should I say ponzi investment, that are too good to be true, that's why don't ever trust your money to someone you don't even know.

OP, just try to heal mentally and realize what your mistake was and never get involved with the so-called "high-risk" investments, they are all a scam designed to empty the pocket of as much people as possible taking advantage of the fact Bitcoin and altcoins transactions cannot be reversed.

High Yield Investment, Ponzi Schemes, and co don't always stay long, they can last from a month to a few months and they won't notice anyone before closing down, this is the way these scams are been run by those criminals.

At the news about the loss of an investment, it cannot bring you joy because it is a bad news and not what any investor will want to hear. This kind of news hits really hard when you committed a lot of money financially to the investment, money that you would not have liked to loose. General advice is to first do a proper research personally before committing to any investment, and then invest an amount of money that you can loose because there is always the possibility of loss when investing.

First, ask what are their products and if they will give you a sample then simply find where it came from so that you will know if they have a legit business. Second, don't just trust a number when they were giving you as a result, find a proof that these numbers aren't just made for you/them to believe that they were legit.

Obviously it does. I remember once when the market fell to 28k from 40k my liquidation in the market was just 1k dollars away from the lowest price and market fell by almost 13k in just a matter of few hours. When the market was falling I could feel shivers down my spine after market was falling every 1k. I did lose a few bucks in the past while investing in cloud mining sites like Hashocean if i remember well, but since then, I have become more careful in deciding whether a project is worth my money or not. This is a stage that we all went through, whether it happened to us personally (most of the time) or we watched it happen to others whenever the price went down a lot or went up. Feelings of frustration affect all investors at a certain period, which is usually in the beginning stage. Personally, I don't have such a big amount of money but whatever I have earned until now if I lose even 10% of it I will regret it and recover back. Obviously, that time is gonna hard for me but this time from recovering the money there is another precious thing called experience hmm. I remember I was in Class 9th Standard (High School) and there was a joint bank account of my parents a few days ago my father sent our monthly expenses funds, I was holding the ATM card, and for some reason, I withdraw some money and a random scammer tarped me with his tricks and replaced my card I didn't notice after 2 days all the amount was withdrawn from the account and my father asked why you've withdrawn all funds at once then I realized that I have been scammed, I tried to recover but unfortunate.

After that time buddy, I can assure you no one can trick me into an ATM now hahaha I use 200% safety measures before withdrawing cash to make sure the security and privacy of my funds &  PIN. So that was a huge amount at that time even still it's a decent amount for me which gave me a life-changing lesson.

Hopefully that bad day won't happen again to you guys. Regret and disappointment for sure, but don't let that make you give up and leave the investment. We can take lessons from all the events that we experience, even though it is something we don't want. You are not the only one who has experienced something like this, not a few people have had the same experience as you, so let it be a valuable lesson for the future.

Losing money has never been pleasant mostly when the work put in to earn the income is tudious or hard.
The one that pains in particular is constant debit from banks via SMS or email or any other means used in receiving notifications alert.
I have lost money recently from wrong transfer to a an account that I failed to confirm properly and the pain of such loss cost me sleepless night.

I think there has to be something wrong with you, if you do not feel anything ...when you lose money on a business deal. I have participated in many Ponzi schemes before, but I went into it with open eyes... knowing that I could lose all of my money. (Ponzi schemes are legal here... well sort of..)

It is never nice to lose money, but you have to take some risk to get some huge rewards. Bitcoin is a high risk investment, so you have to go into it with an open mind and never invest more than what you can afford.  ;)

Everyone feels down at such circumstances. We've come across lots and lots of similar investment schemes around the world. To profit out of these schemes we should know how to convince people and join under you. I'm not sure about the business in which OP have invested. Most of the business happening around these days were the pyramid scheme. The top management will earn and runs away. Take it a learning, atleast then onwards have better understanding and invest than thinking of the profit promised out of the business.

This is why we need to do our own research when we are investing in a business proposition.  Trusting a friend is not enough when it comes to financial transactions.  It even causes a rift in the relationship between the two people.  So it is wise to do a separate research and not just jump into investment because of the trust involved.  Often than not, those whom we trusted often breaks our trust and exploit us for many things.


I have experience investing in my friend's business, the business is thriving and yet he did not give me the promised shares from profit.  Until I got enough and asked him to refund my investment.  I even asked him to pay in installments for a year or two until my money is back but instead of replying back, he put me on ignore.  ;D.  Though it is frustrating I decided to think of it as a loss and move on.

When you lose money, it's important not to get discouraged or depressed for too long. After all, if you're in that state, you can't start over (and you should). You need to learn lessons, to realize that you paid for something bad that could have happened to you if you had kept the money.

The feeling depends on how money is spent.  If I lose money due to negligence then I would feel regrettable.  If I lose money because I trusted it to someone for investment then I feel dumb and remorseful that I should have spent that money for my family instead due to greed I wasted it to some scam company.

When you are trying yourself to get involved on things which do pertains about investment then it would really be that needing that extreme and indepth research. Would you mind on telling on what kind of business that you've been dealing with? If not then its just fine. We know that investments doesnt really always end up to be profitable specially on local or physical investment.

After reading your statements, it does not look like a business because in business you just do not give your money to others to manipulate it to get returns for you. In business, you are the one that controls it at first and when you grew you hire other people to do work for you. What I think is, you just invested your money in a company that promised you to return higher money with profits in less time and you fell for it (no offense just stating facts).

I can understand your feelings to some extent because recently a company in my country known as "IDA" which promises to return high profits on small investments, it's like a pyramid scheme in which you have to bring more people in and make them invest more money from which you will earn a little commission and boom you can become a millionaire over days.

Now this company is gone, it's like the event of the previous week, many peoples in my society fell for it and invested there hell a lot of money in it, One thing that I do not understand about my fellow citizens that why they always fell for these schemes because they also fell for the same scheme with same mechanisms back in Covid.

Actually, only a few people get benefits out of these schemes and the ones like you at the end of their campaign are left behind with no profits. Overall, i never felt for these opportunities, whenever i found one i do not even listen to them because i know how it will end for me and for my family. Because once you heard the scheme your heart will force you to invest money and you will also think about what could go wrong even if i lost your money while i have other opportunities that i can avail with that money. So, i go for them.

One more thing to remember is that profit is not the only thing that matters in life. I went to the doctor recently and learned about a scary thing, I am going to live and survive thankfully but I will have to be more careful from now on, I can't live life like I used to. Which allowed me to understand many things, like not be upset anymore. If I see something that upsets me, if I can avoid it then I do, like I used to hang around in twitter and that pissed me off so much, not going into twitter anymore, nor about trading upsets neither. Trick 5 - The “Scarcity” Tactic: It follows from the previous trick. They go on to tell you that it discount will expire in the next 24hours and that it is limited or that after it, it will go back to the full price and because you don't want to miss out, you fall for the trick.

I feel sorry for what happened to your money but I must say that it's fine to feel upset or disappointed because what you have lost is the fruits of your hard work. The same thing actually happened to me when I invested my money in a fake project that took the money of many investors. It's frustrating and it seems like all your hopes turned into nothing.

Back in the days, losing money is disempowering to me. Whenever I'm down to my last dime I always feel sad and lethargic. I don't go out of the room, I sulk, and I work on stuff until I get that pay and feel a little better eventually. The first warning sign and easy way to detect a scam related investment is the promises that it comes with, like they are too good and enticing to be true.  And many persons fall to all of these due to their obsession to make money which then blind their sense of judgement to ask supposed questions and make deep enquiry into whatever investment scheme that come their way. Let's learn to be patient in our little efforts cause it will eventually pay, it doesn't have to be fast but it's definitely going to pay off in an interesting way instead of rushing into a sham of quick investment returns that would end up causing you trauma.

This is already a risk in investing in a project, because not all projects that we follow in the crypto world we can trust fully because some of them only use something in order to get victims as you feel today, be patient because we in the crypto world can always get profits or losses and currently you are experiencing losses so don't despair of continuing to rise until you can get lost assets at this time  return.

I know the feeling, it's heart breaking, because money is not easy get. I lost a lot of money some years back. I wasn't scamed, it was just a wrong business decision. I was looking for a new shop to expand my business, and I saw one that has the kind of space that I needed and it was cheap. Without thinking I rushed and made payment, without considering the location, that it was not suitable for my kind of business. I spent money again putting the place in order, borrowed money from microfinance to stock the shop. After one year of very poor sales, I had to close down the business.

It affected my business capital negatively, because I wasted money on rent and decoration , was repaying bank loan, utility bills and staff. In the end I became worse off than when I started the business. So I personally knows how it feels to lose money, it's very painful.

well it hurts those who feel trying to get it. but if you are an investor losing money should be a normal thing because gains also come with losses. that's a sure thing. if we feel we are losing money it means we are an employee and do not have the mentality as an investor.

basically they target people who are impatient and want to get money easily and quickly, so the promises they offer will be very effective bait, especially for those who lack investment knowledge. therefore we really have to be able to build by going through the processes that must be passed, so that money doesn't seem to follow us without having to look for it, because we have a good knowledge base and can enjoy investing

Losing money is something that almost everyone experiences, but what makes us feel very sorry for losing large amounts of money and because of the little things we do, I have also experienced losing money when metamask was hacked, and since then I prefer to save assets in exchanges wallet.
