Post by: sujonali1819 on May 09, 2023, 07:23:27 AM
What happened: Chipmixer and blender.io After closing these bitcoin mixers, there are some phishing sites still alive in the market.

Chipmixer: We all know about it. Chipmixer is seized and the site is closed now. People are still taking advantage of this name and keep running the fake/phishing mixer site. Also, they are showing some fake notifications that how much is mixed in X minutes.

Blender.io: According to this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5052876.msg59765651#msg59765651), blender.io service is also closed for maintenance. But one of the fake blender.io websites is still active and showing on Google's front page even has no 1 position. (https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/16/blob751c18dba4f8df58.png)

If you can earn money by working hard, don't be lazy when you try to use a Bitcoin mixer also. Always keep bookmarking your favorite website. and don't depend on only Google search results. Always investigate before using any mixing service.

You must be not updated or late in the news if you believe that Chipmixer is still online, we all notice that mixers are the main or prime target of scammers now, almost all existing mixers now had a clone or phishing sites to deal with, they find replicating mixers profitable because there's a big demand of mixers, lots of users for privacy concern uses and support mixers.
I can verify that the phishing site blender.io is showing in the number one spot I did my research it did show on my end, this is going to be a big issue if a user will use Google to use a mixer and use that keyword combination.

What we can do now is warn people about the existence of this phishing site, as long as they are there, we should continue our job to warn people.

Is reporting to Google sufficient to solve this problem, or is communication with the judicial authorities that confiscated the site the fastest? Those scammers are stupid because they are trying to scam people with services that have suspicions of money laundering, and therefore lawsuits may move against them, including phishing links.

I advise anyone to stay away from these links because they may be managed in one way or another by the government.

Thank you for posting this warning.
Scammers made this very carefully. I barely noticed the difference between (blender.io) and (blendor.io). At first, I honestly didn't notice the difference until I noticed the letter (o), so there is a high probability that whoever uses Google will fall victim to this scam.

As for Chipmixer, I don't think anyone will fall victim to a phishing site except the lazy ones who don't follow the news because everyone knows that the site has been shut down.

I saw Sinbad mixer getting many fake website recently but I dont get it why scammers are wasting time creating cloned versions of dead websites.
Everyone who is active in crypto space surely must know that chipmixer is shut down and seized by authorities, but maybe some people are still falling for scams like this.

Yeah, the scammers always focus more on the popular ones. Previously they were focusing on Chipmixer and now on Sinbad.

I assume they are still creating clone of dead websites due to we are very dependent on Google search and used to. And always their victim is the new guy in this mixing field.

These clones sites from mixers that are out of business are still profitable for scammers they are targetting not only new users but those who are not aware of the status of the real mixing sites or who thought that they are back in business, if they can make their site end on a top of search engine they can victimize people, many people still trust the search engine results to give them the best sites to use.

I could list for you a number of popular mixers here that use Cloudflare too, but in the spirit of togetherness I don't want to do that since it might look weird given that I am wearing a signature of another mixer  :D

Good thing I have given you a clue, just look up.

Has anyone tried to report this fake website of CM on this server?
We can report it to Cloudflare using their abuse reporting system and here are the steps to report a fake website to Cloudflare.

https://www.cloudflare.com/trust-hub/abuse-approach/
Go to that site and click on the "Report abuse" button and fill up the form.

Yeah, the scammers always focus more on the popular ones.
I tend to agree and not only in the mixing service industry, they are everywhere waiting for their victim.

Yeah, found one right after the closing of CM, [Warning]: ChipMixer and clone sites are still in the wild (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5445978.0).

And same case here, it is on the Big G search engine. We all know that Google doesn't care about this, but it won't take time on our side to report this kind of scam sites that we can find.

They do remove some malware sites once in a while, but the fact that people managed to publish ads is definitely a problem. Even their app store is plagued with malware. Fortunately, we can just use adblocker to solve most of these issues. You should use ToR anyway if you plan to use a mixer imo.

Can someone give a thread or article for me to read why Chipmixer is now offline? I didn't know that they're gone, they've been heavily promoted in this forum for a long time so I'm curious.

You can start here:

This is a link for a person who lost his money after the site was closed (he did not withdraw his private key)

Justice News about CM https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-investigation-leads-takedown-darknet-cryptocurrency-mixer-processed-over-3

they shutdown chipmixer.com/chipmixer.io/chipmixer.club and there is an arrest warrant against the founder.

Also, they are showing some fake notifications that how much is mixed in X minutes.
This is funny as no good mixer would publish such stats as it makes chain analysis companies' job easier. Chipmixer never did it, as far as I can remember.

The best thing to do to take those websites down is to report them to their respective domain name registrar. Both fake websites use the same registrar which is 1api. To report them you need to send an email to:
Code:
abuse@1api.net

You can visit their actual website and it will show you what happened. There's the message that will show upon accessing their website made by the FBI.

I didn't know that they're gone, they've been heavily promoted in this forum for a long time so I'm curious.
Yes, they're known for running their campaign for years and have been thought as the most stable mixer campaign but then, all of these incidents came all of a sudden.

While the seizure for chipmixer and other concerning mixers, these scammers will not stop to trick people that are not aware of their closure/seizure. Even the existing mixers today that are running a campaign, there's for sure the phishing and copy cat websites made by these cons.

It's a Ponzi scheme and HYIP method to attract people to use their service, HYIP and Ponzi scheme shows fake stats on the number of people or amount that comes it, scammers are good in marketing they know how to manipulate the mind of the people if this is your first time to use a mixer and you happen to land on these fake mixers with all these features you will likely get scammed,
newbies are gullible they tend to believe what they see and not to do research first.

Wow, thanks for the links and articles, this case is such a big deal, I think we should've seen this coming, mixers are going to be used by criminal enterprises no matter how much we deny it but the fact that there are scammers out there that's using the name to scam bitcoins is just appalling, we can only hope that they've stolen only few bitcoin and if not maybe stolen the bitcoins of other criminals.

Looks like the scammers are niave enough to host a phishing site of a mixer which has already been shut down by the government. I don't know that how could those negative actors generate such useless ideas. Basically anyone who is not tech-savy should always prefer someone good at teach before using any of the mixers. The phishing mixer sites are growing enormously and it looks like that the scammers are highly interested in such services and might have scammed many innocent users with such traps.

It's always better to go with trusted mixers rather than falling for the ones who are known for their scamming activates. There are many good and trusty mixers available on this forum and their campaigns are running very well. The unfortunate thing is that the scammers have created phishing pages of the highly trustable mixers as well. For example there are many clones of SinBad mixer and anyone who searches it into Google will reach those fake sites.
