As a fellow Bitcoin investor, I completely agree with your insights. Understanding the true essence of investment requires careful planning and strategizing to maximize returns. Whether it's through trading or mining, knowing the right timing for investment is crucial. It's essential to avoid impulsive decisions and instead give your investments time to grow steadily and accumulate.

When it comes to identifying good investors, there are several key traits to look for. A good investor is someone who possesses a futuristic mindset, plans meticulously, manages finances effectively, mitigates risks wisely, and has a clear vision of their goals. These qualities enable them to see opportunities instead of challenges and work towards a prosperous future.

While Bitcoin presents a lucrative investment opportunity, it's important to acknowledge the inherent risks involved. Understanding these risks and learning how to navigate them is crucial for any investor. By staying informed and making informed decisions, we can harness the potential of Bitcoin as an asset and build a successful investment portfolio.

I am not getting what you want to express exactly. A Bitcoin investor should be well-experienced and well Patience. Otherwise, they won't become a Bitcoin investor at all. I am talking about personal investment actually, not institutional investors. Because institutional investors are well-planned and won't regret their actions. Please write well instead of botted your thread. So we can realize what you want to explain.

What makes a good investor, is simple the ability to understand the risk and plan very well before making any move. Having patience also can make one a good investor as investment take time to yield good result. If one is not patient, he ends up investment in the wrong time and making rash decision that can complicate his  investment .
As some good strategist has said before now, always learn to diversify portfolio and avoid placing all eggs in one basket. As this is another way to be a good investor. Learn new strategies, follow new trends, always be informed about latest Change in the market and overall, take you time to plan. Don't be in a hurry.(fomo) and with  these you  can become a good investor.

* they're risk managers

I don't think they are risk managers, because anyone who understands the high risk of investing in bitcoin would never invest on this coin. As we know cryptos are a high-risk investment and when we talk about risk it means the bigger risk is equal to biggest profit or bigger loss. so, those ones who know about risk and investment they would put bitcoin in the last spot of the investing options. And I know this because I had this conversation with some experimented Investors, and they just don't like cryptos because the risk doesn't worth it.

As far as I know Bitcoin investors are people who spend money to acquire Bitcoin in aim to make profit from it in the future.  Whether they are good investors or not depends on their action but I do not think you can only be label as Bitcoin investor if you are well-experienced and have good patience. From the context of the meaning of investor

Quote
in·ves·tor
noun
a person or organization that puts money into financial plans, property, etc. with the expectation of achieving a profit.

It does not say that they need to be well-experienced and have patience in order to be identified as one.  Of course there are these labels to investors such as good investor, bad investors, newbie investor etc...

They can be, since they are able to minimize the risk involved in a certain investment.  If someone understand the high risk and is able to mitigate this high risk can be said to be a great smart or wise investor.  One of this kind investor is warren Buffet where he invested on the failing company and be able to rake huge profit from them.

It's like for being the entire description of being a good investor and it's not just all about being a bitcoin investor.

* they're risk managers
I think this, although it's right but there's more to it like calculating and mitigating the risk that they're taking. Investors knew that investments are all risky, small, or high. But by their experiences, they tend to have the idea of the investment they're taking.
Like what we're seeing in most of the big investors of Bitcoin. We see people that have been taking risks and they don't mind it because they've done their research well. They've checked the history and even the historical charts. Many attributes do convinces them that Bitcoin is the actual investment that everyone should take and yes, I'm part of those people that would say the same them over and over again.

All these qualities op listed here are for just institutional trader or investor and not for individual investor and tradees like you and I. The only thing that really matters for individual investor is the risk aspect of it, because as an individual we must accept the risk before venturing into making investment also planned very carefully not to invest at the wrong time. However, op should have classified it based on individual and institutional traders to able the content be fully expressed and comprehensible by readers.

Bitcoin is a good assets to invest on but it's also has it own risk which you must learn.
As long as you remember that investing in Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme, you'll be fine.
Because it requires patience, discipline, and most of all knowledgeable enough of how Bitcoin will work for those who understand the risk.

And the last one is, to invest only what you can afford to lose.
Because this kind of investment is highly volatile and risky, so don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

You can apply the DCA way of purchasing on Bitcoin too and I think that's a part of being a good investor.

I don’t know the purpose that this thread serves, maybe this your own idea of what a bitcoin investor should be. IMO the most important thing when investing in bitcoin is understanding the tech and being patient with your investments. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme, it takes times for investors to see x2 of their investment, not many can be disciplined to hodl for that long, that’s why it’s recommended to invest only what you can afford to lose.

Ignore those and evaluate the results they achieve, you will know if it is a good or bad investor.  many investors have a good plan and calculate everything perfectly…but if the results are not as expected or not profitable, they are not good investors.  I believe that each person has a personality, a mindset, and the way to success is never the same. so, don't be too rigid with the propagated theories, but find the best method for yourself.

I don't know why you are making bitcoin investment look like a university course. Is it how it is contained in your head?
Please have a rethink and simply put that;
A good bitcoin investor is one who buys low and sell high
Then you can add that;
He is one who is able to invest what he is able to lose
Anyone who has these two attributes can be regarded as a good bitcoin investor.

Bitcoin investors know when and how to invest weather trading or mining there is an appropriate time for it.
A good investor does not time in the market because they will face with very challenging task when timing in the market. Mostly they will fail with that task so they have to use a better strategy, dollar cost averaging DCA that does not require them to time in the market.

No. Investors must have profit and take profit. They invest to gain profit so what is the point to not take profit with your investment.

Important reminder is if you can hold your coins in a long time like during two halvings about 5 or 8 years, that is great and with two halving cycles, you can take very good profit but it is not wrong if you take profit earlier, anytime if you see profit is good with you.

I don't think so, this is more likely a trader for my own understanding. A good Bitcoin investor for me is a long-term hodler.
Well, that is just my own opinion as we don't have a basis. As I believe that investors in Bitcoin or non-bitcoin related must possess patience, disciplined, always doing research, and many more.

There is nothing special about bitcoin investors because just like other investors they need almost the same strategy to succeed. Bitcoin investors don't have two hearts or brains but are humans like other investors. You have rightly outlined some of the characteristics of a good business person and I think planning, risk management, and financial management are important. But just like other businesses Bitcoin investment is not immune to risk. It has its level of risk that every investor should be aware of before investing. That is why before investing you should do your research and study the bitcoin sector. It is also important to invest only what you can afford to lose. Don't use loans or other credit facilities to invest except you are sure of the investment profitability.

Actually, being a good Bitcoin investor is not always complicated, as long as you only need to believe in the value of Bitcoin, know how long to hold it. And more importantly he has cold funds to keep accumulating his money into Bitcoin. Even in the midst of many FUD doubts about Bitcoin a good investor will not care about FUD, he understands in great detail every risk taken and is willing to bet with himself. Everyone knows the risks but not everyone manages to survive them. If you want to become a Bitcoin investor, the first thing to do is put aside negative and optimistic news according to your initial goals.

A good bitcoin investor is one who buys low and sell high
It is true in a wide view but it is not true in short view.

If you are a very experienced investor, you can still make mistake by buying at too high price, but if with your experience and technical knowledge, you can know when the market starts to be dumped. At that time, you can sell your bitcoin which was bought at high price and wait for lower discount price to buy back.

It is not means you are trading if you only do it with very big trend change. You are still a good investor if you buy high, sell low, and buy back lower then hodl it.

After investing some bad times may come in the market if we can't be patient at that time then there is no point in investing. If you invest at the right time, the chances of making a profit are higher than the loss. As you said investing requires risk planning patience market observation all these things.
If we don't have a risk appetite we can't invest If we don't have a plan We can't invest at the right time Due to lack of proper planning If we don't have patience then we won't be able to hold on to our investment when the value of the coin goes down after investing. To be an ideal investor we must have these qualities or we will never succeed in investing.

Good Bitcoin Investor:

- The one who stays anonymous with his/her bitcoin investment.
- Do not brag about it everywhere
- Owns his private keys, do not keep his/her bitcoin on an exchanger or custody wallets.
- Chose a low life, no buzz no fuzz
- Becomes millionaire in few years.  :D

Well, honestly this is what a characteristic needs to be in an ideal bitcoin investor.

Over the period of time bitcoin hacks, looting and crimes has gone up. In that perspective one must follow above synch ups.

-HODL BTC

Actually it's not easy, it's a normal thing. I myself do not see the financial benefits they generate, but I pay attention to the stages he reaches in the process, which means he is able to see the possibilities that occur at certain moments, for example understanding market trends, projecting price movements and being an expert in managing investments for optimal results. For me A good investor must have a long term vision and have a clear investment plan and have a straight forward view and know when to make decisions.

You will not find all these things in a single person but most of them can manage, these are of course ideal situations and nothing is ideal in this world. What we can aspire to have all these characters but it becomes difficult and I dont feel it is necessary either.

Be the person who remains cool in a tight trading situation and only then you can make money. Buy low and sell high without keeping day trades running, that is a simple method to keep it cool and running without panic.

Don't try to be the ideal investor but be a realistic one.

Whether the opinion comes from the crowd or the individual, it is also necessary to look back at the process that each of us has experienced, I am sure no one is lucky enough to achieve success when just entering any field. Real experience makes us forget about previous theories we heard, emotional turmoil when an investment does not go as expected is the most obvious problem with any investment market. The concept of success is also based on many different points of view, and it is not tied to anyone, as many people here I agree with the experience that we learn when entering the market to get the best results. Believe in the market in which we invest, accept the risks that occur to reach the goals we have built from the ground up.

OP's examples is actually a trait from a good investors but you won't see these trait from an average person who do investing. You could see these to known investors that actually have these traits but there's no perfect person so they would also have flaws before they reached their success. Before you attained one of the examples you will be needing to gather some experience first so you would learn because it would be a luck if you just started acquiring already these traits of an investor.

A good bitcoin investor has a plan and strategy he uses to invest in the market. Good investors don't invest like must newbie do when they fomo and buy Bitcoin without reserving money for other things or future investing. Good Bitcoin investor work with his plans which could be him continuing to hold or sell to take profits when the market reaches a new peak.

It doesn't matter if an investors sells when Bitcoin reaches a new all time high then buys again during the bear market or continuing holding throughout the bear market, it doesn't matter how they invest but they should be profitable and that's how you can know good invertors

investing in btc certainly has a high risk, in my opinion, there are not a few investors who fail to invest in btc and suffer a lot of losses.

In my opinion, a good BTC investor is an investor who never gives up in the face of any obstacles and situations, and always learns from experience.

and the most important thing is to always make a profit even if the market situation is bear or bull.

They didn't fall to FUD from other people easily  ;D, many people invest in Bitcoin because they want to get rich quickly in this crypto market but when they got FUD from other people they immediately sell their holdings which is really bad for them. We should have our mindset to not become greedy and not easily fall to FUD since many whales is buying at low price and always spread FUD to get more discount price.

for me an experience or good investor has been through a lot, you can know or see it how he reacts on a sudden drop of price and spikes, as we all know a newbie investor will react and panic if they see the price dips in minutes or hours, while experience investors will buy if the price dips and relax when the price goes up a bit, well experience will know if its time to sell and buy back, because they have a target price, while unexperienced investor is not.

There are several factors which clear the position and thinking of good investor. At first, knowledge and experience about the crypto currencies , including its dynamics , past experience and withstanding toward named coins. A skilled investor must have well risk assessment strategy and capability as well as disciplined approach to manage cryptos.

That's why he understand about trending and behavior of market. But, I think the key factor is to conduct through research and analysis before making investing decisions. At last It would be appreciable for a person to must connect through different crypto communities for better examination of market.
To prevent any loss in Bitcoin you must enhance your capabilities towards capitalization, future, liquidity and other factors of any crypto before investment.

I personally see all the investors in bitcoin, all of them are great people and have forward thinking. Because in my view, people who are aware of the potential of bitcoin, are smart and lucky people.

I also agree with all your opinions. All the points that you wrote are all necessary and must be applied by all investors in bitcoin. I will also add one important point that must be owned by bitcoin investors, and that point is the nature of maturity. Because if all of your opinions are combined with what is called maturity, I'm sure it will be more complete. Because if an investor in bitcoin does not have maturity, he will tend to be impatient, too hasty, and unable to control his emotions. Therefore, I think that having maturity is one of the important factors that must be possessed by all bitcoin investors. And in essence, everyone must have their own and different point of view about the characteristics of a good investor in bitcoin. But most importantly, a good bitcoin investor must always be responsible for all his actions and always be mature.

There is nothing to use and differentiate a good investor or not, just have the knowledge and play your cards right, even the so called crypto influencers still mess things up till this day, they still lose money here and there.

Bitcoin is the safest of all crypto projects that's why members are recommending Bitcoin to crypto newbies, if you don't know how to tell the difference from a scam project to a real project then keep learning.

Do not rush and make sure you spend time learning about crypto and what makes one better than the other, the more you get better at this the better you will become in crypto space and nobody will matter to you than your own knowledge.

If a person invests Bitcoin as his source of income, he must scale the investment. The qualities listed here are very important for an investor. Those who invest personally and are concerned with trading should adopt these qualities but they will be able to profit. There are many people who do not have a very good knowledge about investing and have absolutely no patience. But an investor must have qualities that he tries to hold for a long time. An ideal investor is one who invests his money and waits patiently. But in the future they will definitely get the result of this waiting, they have to move forward with confidence in the investment only then it will be a risk-free investment.

That's how to know a good investors of bitcoin who do not see challenges but the possibilities of making their future work.

In reality we are all investors as we all invest more or less in Bitcoin. But there is a lot of difference between ordinary investor and real investor. Ordinary investors do not invest with as much planning as real investors. Common investors always take short cuts to invest but real investors never take short cuts and follow all the points you mentioned and have all the virtues in them are real investors.

Real investors invest with so much in mind so they achieve more success in investing. So we have to be true investors and not ordinary investors.

If a person invests Bitcoin as his source of income, he must scale the investment.
If you don't use all salary, income for your expense, you can use the rest to invest in Bitcoin rather than save its in banks. With time, you can DCA Bitcoin and scale up your investment capital.

Quote
There are many people who do not have a very good knowledge about investing and have absolutely no patience. But an investor must have qualities that he tries to hold for a long time. An ideal investor is one who invests his money and waits patiently.
If you can not hold your bitcoin, wait patiently months and years, you are not good investor. It requires you to do your research about past cycles, past bull runs to have knowledge and belief that Bitcoin will have similar movement and growth in its next cycles and bull runs.

Compare bull markets (https://charts.bitbo.io/compare-bull-markets/) with past two cycles and the current one.

Bitcoin investors will buy when the price is down and hold for the long term and not worry about the volatility of the bitcoin price. They can hold their bitcoins and buy when they see the price drop again because they know there will be a price reversal occurring for bitcoins. They also know how much money they can spend investing in bitcoin so that it doesn't mess up their other financial situations and doesn't use up the money they already have in their respective positions.

Besides that, they know when they sell their bitcoins because they have a clear target to sell them and take the profit. And they also can still enjoy their time to enjoy other things because they think their investment will provide benefits in the future, so they have to enjoy the time available for other things.

So you should become a good bitcoin investor, especially if you want to make a big profit in the future. And remember to buy more bitcoin when the price is still down.

investing in btc certainly has a high risk, in my opinion, there are not a few investors who fail to invest in btc and suffer a lot of losses.

In my opinion, a good BTC investor is an investor who never gives up in the face of any obstacles and situations, and always learns from experience.

and the most important thing is to always make a profit even if the market situation is bear or bull.

Investing in bitcoin is not a high risk decision to take, what could you now call those that goes for other cryptocurrencies, knowi a good investor of bitcoin begins with understanding the right time to invest, sell or hodl, knowing the appropriate p2p channel to buy or exchange bitcoin, using a decentralized open source cold storage for storing your bitcoin and finally monitoring your bitcoin wallet security against any form of attack and continuous learning more about bitcoin to always get yourself improves and updated on the network.

Good investors know exactly how he needs to execute their plan and most important, he knows their own limit and by that, they won't fall to excessively investing lots of money which will gonna lead him to also lose his funds for his essential needs. Most of the time they have multiple sources of income so they don't really need to worry about the money that they gonna put there for a long time. Also, people that have quit their bad habits to spend money in bitcoins instead are also worthy to be called good investors because they are killing two birds with one stone.

You’re right in this. Investing is a long way process so a good investor never takes greed on this but patiently wait for its outcome through years of hodling. And with patience, comes with perseverance, discipline and  a very optimistic personality. Since investment has also it’s inevitable losses, I think a good investor never gets threatened and affected with losses because somehow it’s part of an investment, what matters is that you know how to stand up in every trials that your investment may face.

* they're risk managers

Point taken. But isn't that essentially risk-management anyway? I reckon everyone here who have bitcoin in their portfolios at some point in time made sure that they are not at a net loss when managing their investments, which in itself is risk management already.

Point I'm trying to make is OP makes sense, just because bitcoin's a very risky investment doesn't mean that every good investor's gonna scurry away from it, we are here after all and need I say more about how much profit we're able to rake from all the hours we devoted just to learn how to trade, as well as the risks we took, which eventually paid off anyway?

Based on a series of account liquidations, the market will humble a desperate trader. If you don't learn, at the end of the day, losses will count more than earnings. The goal is to keep losses to a minimum while increasing profits to their full potential. Bitcoin investors operate exclusively with time, calculating their risks and earnings before taking action. They have essential qualities and constantly choose the best alternatives among the better ones. They never give up and are constantly anticipating complex project study before investing.

I don't believe in grasping the theory without actual experience, and in the journey that my friends and I have entered this market where we look at individuals or organizations that are considered to be the best in the industry. In this field, they often don't share much theory and simply believe in the market and how they built this market to create really useful values. Everyone's experience may be different in life, causing us to have different thoughts or prejudices about opinions, so good or bad things for me will also be lessons to help myself as well as people around grow.

Investors still have to start somewhere, so I would still consider those non-experienced investors to Bitcoin to be "Bitcoin investor" still. There might be some gatekeepers around here telling newbies that they aren't investors if they don't have a certain amount of money.

good investors are those who are ready to invest in the long term, so they don't expect returns in the short term, therefore they mostly use cold money to invest, and look more relaxed when facing the market, because they know they will eventually achieve their goals, and that the unknown is when it will be accomplished. if it is reached faster then it is a bonus time, but if the target is still not reached, then the patience he is doing, they even don't pay attention to the market, because by setting targets they don't worry about missing the moment

I think in this way as well, it is easy to think that we could teach someone our trading techniques and if they simply applied them to the letter then they will make money, however things are not that simple, unless someone truly understands why our trading strategy is the way it is they will always fail to apply it at the most critical moment.

So learning how to trade is not only a skill you learn, it is also a process of self-discovery in which the trader needs to find a strategy that not only is profitable but which they can apply on their own, regardless of the market conditions they are facing at the moment.

I don't know why you are making bitcoin investment look like a university course. Is it how it is contained in your head?
Please have a rethink and simply put that;
A good bitcoin investor is one who buys low and sell high
Then you can add that;
He is one who is able to invest what he is able to lose
Anyone who has these two attributes can be regarded as a good bitcoin investor.
And to add good investor is who don't get influenced by others and contribute to panic sell as most of them are doing this. You should have faith in bitcoin and knowledge about it without over complicating the things. You can just hold it for long term to get returns as buying low and selling high is hard for many so just buy and wait for long run.

Identifying a good Bitcoin investor can be a subjective process, but there are several key qualities and characteristics that can indicate someone's proficiency in investing in Bitcoin. Here are some factors to consider when assessing a potential Bitcoin investor:

Knowledge and expertise, Experience, Risk management, Long-term perspective, Portfolio management, Continuous learning, Emotional resilience, Ethical behavior

It's important to note that assessing an investor's skills and abilities requires a comprehensive evaluation and may involve a degree of subjective judgment. Past performance is not always indicative of future results, so it's essential to conduct due diligence and consider multiple factors when determining the suitability of a Bitcoin investor.

Every investment carries its own risks and it's important to be aware of them. Some investments entail high risks that are generally advised to be avoided. In our case here, Bitcoin still carries a certain level of risk. However, with careful risk management and strategic timing in investments it is possible to minimize the potential loss of money.

Many people have achieved significant profits by buying Bitcoin at low prices and selling when the price is high. The question here is, How do they determine the right time to buy when the price is low and predict the future increase in Bitcoin's value to make a profit?

Successful Bitcoin investors usually have a great knowledge and experience in Bitcoin trading, They often read news, do their own research and analyze Bitcoin charts before making investment decisions. Although there is still a risk of incurring losses, they invest for the long term and generally expect to profit over time given the expectation of a coming bull run.

When a bitcoin investor starts to participate in this exciting cryptocurrency market, they always have to accept their own risk. Even though the daily value fluctuations are huge, if you are an experienced long-time player, then of course your profit potential will be significantly higher than that of a beginner in this market. Some investors know that, so they accept the risk within their control. In general, the electronic market is a piece of cake, but if you do not control your greed, your money will soon evaporate.

it is true that people who have been participating in investing in bitcoin for a long time will know more about the real state of bitcoin, because continuing to be involved in every transaction will make them understand better what to do, so the potential for profit is enormous.
but for those who are new, you can also catch up to find out about bitcoin if you want to continue to study well because by immediately jumping in and learning about bitcoin, you will quickly be able to adapt.
it is clear that with a very large risk it will produce something that is also a big profit, that is what makes bitcoin very popular for those who already understand, but I agree with you that you must always be wise and not greedy, when you are profitable, immediately let go and wait for a correction to buy back .

So all the investors, who teach others, are able to teach basics in trading, but not all the things they tell are useful in all the cases. It's better to rely on your own experience in trading.

The problem that must be avoided as a bitcoin investor is panic and impatience, because we have to admit that investing in bitcoin requires this. almost everything that is called an investment will certainly have a risk, as well as bitcoin. if the above can be done, all that remains is to hold and the time that needs to be prepared, so that you can get what you want from an investment.

All of you are right because, as bitcoin investors, we shouldn't panic because the price is continuously declining. This happens because many people panic and are not ready to see news from outside that can affect the Bitcoin movement, so they choose to sell their Bitcoins. But if it turns out to be fake news, they will buy it again, and lucky them if they can buy Bitcoin at such a low price.

And patience in waiting is necessary because market conditions, still as they are now, require time to recover and increase. And let's hope that the Bitcoin price doesn't suffer another deep drop in the remainder of this month or the next.

Investors can be of several types. some invest in stock market, some invest in various businesses, some invest in new crypto projects, similarly many invest only in Bitcoin. So everyone has different investment strategies. to find Bitcoin Investors Expert you need to look at who has been involved with Bitcoin for how long and who has been investing in Bitcoin for how long and what is their financial status. Investing in Bitcoin is easy because the record of Bitcoin failure is very less, so if you invest in Bitcoin for a long time at a dip price, you don't need to do much analysis or be an expert.

Find people with experience, solid knowledge, clear investment strategy, patience and focus. And I think most of them don't appear much on social media and focus more on what they are researching, and above all some of the criteria that I mention also depend on the good or bad point of view. according to the level of understanding as well as stance.
For me, anyone who participates in this market and shares their experiences also gives me knowledge that helps me to feel different perspectives of many people with this field when I actually look back at some of the issues with bitcoin it has a broad spectrum of people and I understand it's really creating a balance to bring people together.

For me, anyone who participates in this market and shares their experiences also gives me knowledge that helps me to feel different perspectives of many people with this field when I actually look back at some of the issues with bitcoin it has a broad spectrum of people and I understand it's really creating a balance to bring people together.
I think it is quite obvious that not many people will be looking at the same thing the same way. I understand that we are at a higher understanding of crypto at this moment where more people know what it is all about, but that doesn't mean that we should be reaching out to crypto like it's something normal and we could easily do it.

It is still just 10 or a bit higher, getting closer to 15 year currency, you do not get a currency that new to be understood by everyone all at once. However, the number is increasing, all those people with experience, solid knowledge, clear strategy and patience end up getting bigger in numbers as the years passes and we get a lot more of them one by one. I think it should be easier in the future to invest.

Instead of looking at the things you mention, just look at the results they have achieved in their time invested. To me, it doesn't make any sense when you have good knowledge, skills, or strategies and still don't make a profit. I mean, even if you have the knowledge and skills, if you use it inflexibly, it won't bring good results. So, look at their results to assess their capacity because the purpose of investing is to make a profit, whoever can do that is a good investor.

If you want us to add more of those what you have listed above OP, I guess I will say this generally to all investors that they are someone who are ready to what to come on their investment since they knew that what they have invested in the first place is a kind of risk that is ready to lose anytime. They aren't expecting something in return but they keep tracking what's happening on the market and the whole economy in general. The same as gambling but less stress, and the amount they invested can be said as a deposit they make in the bank but they're the ones responsible to what will happen.

As Bitcoin is highly volatile, investors have a high chance of profiting simultaneously an investor can quickly lose his wealth due to lack of sufficient knowledge. I personally believe that to expect anything good from any sector one must need proper study. There is no substitute for education. Moreover, Bitcoin is not only used as a trading tool. It also has wide application in practical cases. An investors must first be patient when it comes to investing in Bitcoin. Because it is the most volatile it can be bullish again bearish. Before investing in Bitcoin, an investor needs to understand his finances well and plan for the long term. Only those who invest keeping these things in mind will be able to achieve success ‍as a bitcoin investors.

The fact is like that, I mean learning from other people's experience is one that will support you to become a better user. Of course you don't have to be like them, but you can compare their knowledge and experience with yours.

Because investing involves money, you may not have the same risk tolerance as other people. You can learn, listening to directions based on other people's experience, but you have to adjust yourself and your budget for the same investment. Even if you both do it on bitcoin, the risk tolerance will differ from one person to another.

To be patient is a must when investing in Bitcoin. Besides managing risks and having a plan, I think someone can't neglect safety and being patient when adopting Bitcoin. All these factors are connected and since you may have to wait a long time until seeing your investment bearing fruits, better that your coins are safely stored somewhere hackers and scammers (including governments and regulators) can't have access meanwhile.

Investing with Banks are worst ways to invest, those individual you know are doing the right thing. Since they're only investing their excess or spare money, they won't be so scared like most investors get when Bitcoin experience some corrections that isn't bad to the market since it give opportunity for individuals to buy Bitcoin as low price again. Investing in Bitcoin is risky but not investing is riskier because you'll regret it.

Good Bitcoin investors should be long term investors that want to buy and hold Bitcoin for years to benefits because if you're chasing after the short gains you won't gather wealth but when you invest for a longer period, you'll be securing your future that way.

Patients they say is a virtue and that's one of the traits of a good investor, bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency where you come to make a huge quick amount of money and get out easily, you need the patience to know and have a very vast knowledge before investing in it.
The cryptocurrency world is a place where you make good research, to gain a general knowledge of what you're doing and understand better how to minimize risk, so a good investor must have this trait.
A good Bitcoin investor also needs to secure their passphrase, you need to be security conscious and carefully secure your phrase, to avoid hackers or theft, it is very important to keep this safe else it could easily penetrate your funds.
Avoiding projects in a cryptocurrency that is without a white paper is another quality of a good crypto trader, the white phrase contains full details of a project, so one gets to understand better the projects they're investing in, therefore a good investor takes good notes of this.
A good investor learns from previous errors.
A good investor should have good working tools, and learn to master them before investing.
As a good investor, you must have a very good understanding of trading strategy to know which is suitable for a particular moment in trading.
A good investor must be very good at forecasting the price of the cryptocurrency.

The qualities which you mentioned are really possessed by a good bitcoin investors and planning is most necessary thing not only in bitcoin investment but also in other fields of life. A good investor of bitcoin knows very well that how to manage the system of their finance and how to be patience whenever the conditions become against him.

I think it will takes time because nobody become a good investor from the start so he will faces positive and negative aspects of crypto market after that he will learn that how to cope with these issues. As they developed experience so they will eventually learn each and everything therefore it will be easy for them to continue their journey of success.

Trying to understand the motive of OP is it related to guiding others about having these qualities to become good investors. My Theory is you are a good investor as ANON said planning is essential and I think this is all we need to learn to be a good investor. It covers the full domain under this skill you can develop yourself in a better way whether its about experience whether it's about consistency or building confidence it comes under your investment planning it will teach you results (Experience), and it will force you to stick to market (Consistency),  it will lead to the peak of efficiency (Confidence).

Believe me, planning is the First step and if you haven't taken it then how can you expect to learn more gain experience, and prepare yourself to be consistent?

The risk management is for every human.
But if bitcoin investment is good for you, forex trading can also good for others so you can not generalize the idea to all. But to yourself only.

I don't think it's necessary to be overly complicated about being a good investor. You just need to believe in the long-term value of Bitcoin and understand the importance of holding it for a certain period of time to accumulate. These are all factors that can contribute to a successful investment strategy. Although the crypto market is turbulent with a variety of news and market sentiment, both positive and negative, Then you just need to evaluate the information objectively, remove the noise, and focus on your investment goals and long-term views. Those are the qualities that benefit investors.

What you mentioned is a must for investors and most importantly a good investor has enough knowledge and also has experience about bitcoin which makes him a good investor, and also doesn't have high emotions and doesn't panic easily when the price goes down.
and it is also important for investors to use cold money to invest in bitcoin, and money that is not used for daily needs and urgent needs. Good investors understand that investing in bitcoin and crypto-assets carries a high level of risk, and that will make them highly value their purchase and manage it overall to be profitable.

Knowledge is required before investing. If you have the knowledge, you decide to invest. Investment decisions also bring risks. Those who can take these risks become investors. You don't need much detail to identify the investor. If he has knowledge, experience and patience, he is an investor in my eyes. If we are looking for a perfect result by relating it to the details, this will not lead us to the investor. Where perfection will lead is artificial intelligence.

I analyze and try to understand a good investor with what I said above.

Base on the certainty and behavior of bitcoins, I can boldly say, it is impossible to be a loser only if you do not fomo. Since it's a currency that doesn't get spoilt over time, it can bring profit at it's time but if one miss the bull run, such one can wait for the next, so practically I believe there is no loosing in bitcoins.

I agree with your assumptions about investors, but we should also divide investors into two categories.
There is a category of investors who have a plan to take profits in 3-4 months, so they don't need to be patient longer than the time frame especially if they have already made profit. Meanwhile for long term investors, I think patience and other things that can change their investment plans should be avoided. One of them is to withdraw bitcoins to personal wallet and avoid being in a very volatile market.

I agree with what you said, indeed in investing in BTC you have to use cold money because using cold money will make someone who invests feel comfortable.
and in my opinion it would be even better if a strong investor held on for years like 5 years or 10 years and so on.
and also if investing in bitcoin and crypto we must have a strong mentality.

For me, good investors, before investing, there is always a plan to do research on a coin they want to invest in, and on average they are indeed people who are ready to take risks because every time they do a research is very sure so they are ready to accept if their predictions are not as expected, but they can always get profits so all need a way to always be at the right point and good investors usually  Born from people who are cedas and very disciplined in making decisions.

Agree, we don't need to complicate matters. To me, every investor has different personalities and views on the market, so let's plan and do what we feel is best for us. There's no need to follow each step as the textbook says or be as stereotyped as everyone else. Successful people all have their own paths and are like no other.

In investing too, a good investor is an investor who can make good profits. That's all I judge about anyone. Because even if you have all the factors that OP gave, but if you don't make a profit, it's meaningless.

It is the belief in the good future of bitcoin that separates a good bitcoin investor from a bad bitcoin investor.

Faith supports an investor during a long bear market.  Faith does not allow a bitcoin investor to part with their bitcoins when the cryptocurrency market is bad and all the traders are screaming that people need to sell their coins.

The worse the market situation, the calmer a good bitcoin investor behaves.  Because he knows for sure that everything will be fine with bitcoin.

Unfortunately to become a successful investor in bitcoin is not as easy as people say. You not only have to have an investment budget, make good plans, manage risks and so on. Investment is not that simple, it will definitely differ from one to another especially price volatility and other risks will have an impact on their psychology.

You and me may be able to manage investment risk and minimize it, but of course some other investors may still not be able to be responsible for their investment, I mean they are not responsible investors.

Ofcourse there are several bitcoin investors in the market, we enter trades on a daily basis, generating more profits from bitcoin is very accessible and possible. Bitcoin in cryptocurrency is as important as Gold in the Forex market, they're valuable and trading only ends up in either profits and losses. Bitcoin investors possesses good trading qualities, they're patient and ready to take out good entries on the market, no room for reluctancy, triggered trades and withdrawal of our earnings are the proves that shows we're on the right path to trading.

Being a better investor means being aware of yourself. I always try to stick to my plan when investing. Good investors are aware of how to set up a plan and how to stick to it. Most of the time they have a plan that they can implement on their own. But the best investors also know when it can be helpful to have a trusted advisor to seek advice and see their own blind spots. You can't be a good investor when you think you know everything. We have to constantly research. If i were to list all of these;

Connect your investments to a goal.
Periodically reassess your plan and goals.
Diversify your portfolios and accounts.
Work with an assistant, such as an investor coach, to help you stick to your investment strategy.

These are the tips i can give to be a good investor.

So maybe you say that patience has become a unity of what the OP conveys in the point or becomes an implied message from the points he conveyed, seen from the characteristics conveyed in my personal opinion, it is likely that patience has become a part of us Understand and must be applied in the basis of an investor, it is impossible if a person who is good at managing does not have patience, but it can be as great as he can manage there is one point of time losing patience that makes him destroyed in investing.
Patience has indeed become an important element in any case let alone invest in Bitcoin.

I think what you said it's already a part in the listed since for example, if you are a good planner then you would follow what you have plan right? Then that's the patience will entry, because without patience then probably you would get bored and do something risky that could result that you just wasted what you have planned. In any aspect of being a good investor patience is always a key to success because if you want to be rick quick then patience would literally be gone affecting the listed of characteristics posted by OP.

Patience has indeed become an important element in any case let alone invest in Bitcoin.
patience is the main key to success in investing, especially in bitcoin where we don't know when the bullish season will occur which we really hope for, therefore patience is needed to carry out the plans that have been made before. actually this is something that is easy to say and we often hear it, but many of us always violate this rule of patience, even doing it repeatedly. therefore the need for experience to train patience in us

indeed practicing patience is a difficult thing, even though one of the keys to successful investing is patience, but usually after experiencing a loss sometimes our just realize that if  OUR don't have strong patience our will have the potential to experience losses.
indeed in this case I personally also still have to learn to be patient.

and usually experience will certainly make us more mature in dealing with any situation.

True, and having experience of speculative markets helps users deal with crypto market easily as compared to a person exposed to crypto first. A good investor watches the market patiently often over years before starting to place their own orders. They may do dummy trading on paper and evaluate the market and decide whether that market is good for them or not.

Often newbies jump in crypto trading while their mindset is not like a trader. It ends up being a disaster for them. Often the loss leads them to go for the more risky modes of trading including Margin and futures. These are more likened to gambling than trading.

Knowledge and experience are important factors in becoming a good Bitcoin investor. In addition, controlling emotions is also important, especially when the Bitcoin price undergoes significant fluctuations. Panic selling during market downturns can lead to significant losses. Good investors understand that short-term price movements are part of Bitcoin's inherent volatility, and they focus on their long-term investment goals. Furthermore, using discretionary funds or unnecessary "cold money" for day-to-day expenses or urgent needs is a wise approach. Investing in an amount one can accept to lose will reduce the financial stress associated with a potential market downturn. It allows investors to take a long-term view and avoid making impulsive decisions based on short-term market fluctuations.

Yes, proper knowledge and experience are the most important factors that may determine a good investor because, without proper knowledge, someone will easily get lost because it may be hard to be guided properly. It is through proper knowledge and good experience that will make someone not panic much about what he or she has invested in. Only a person with proper knowledge and experience can easily predict the future of an investment and know the right time to do the right thing about it investment .There may be other characteristics, but knowledge and experience are the best ways to know a good investor.

Predicting the future of investments, even with great experience, is not always as easy as it might seem. An experienced trader knows that he should stick to his strategy, only in this case he will be able to achieve a positive result. In any situation, it is worth keeping a clear mind so as not to succumb to emotions, but this also depends on experience. Ultimately, a good investor will be one who can make a profit on their investment.

There is no certain way to know who is a good bitcoin investor, unless the investor is very vocal about his investments in bitcoin. But i doubt that they will divulge that because they will just put their lives in danger if the people would know that their into bitcoin investing. Investing success is often a combination of knowledge, experience and luck. A good investor will have a solid understanding of bitcoin and crypto currency market. They should be able to explain the technology behind bitcoin as well as the potential risks and rewards of investing in it. A good investor will have experience investing in bitcoin or other crypto currencies. They should be able to demonstrate a track record of successful investments and be able to explain their investment strategy. A good investor will have a clear plan for managing risk.

People who really understands what investment is all about, took time to plan and scale their income weight, Period of plan and period of investment. Bitcoin investors know when and how to invest weather trading or mining there is an appropriate time for it. And as investor you're not expected to hit and run or even eat up your profit. You've to give it time to grow hip hop and accumulate more. That's why in most cases I trust bitcoin investment to any forex or others channels, in bitcoin one hardly loss it all especially if the value of units coins remain safely.

How do you know a good investors?

Bitcoin is a good assets to invest on but it's also has it own risk which you must learn.
I don't agree with some of your points here mate. Bitcoin investors are not risk managers, they are more like strategic investors who have a pretty good knowledge of the market and know when to buy and sell, but risk managers or risk takers are investors who put their money on shitty projects and meme coins with no real use-cases. I don't know what point you're trying to drive home but I wish you had taken time to shade more light on the highlighted points maybe you would have won me over. I also understand your inability to flow very well in English but I do appreciate the effort anyways.

I partially agree with you. If you have a lot of money to invest, you can do whatever you want with it. However, if you are a competent investor, you can be successful regardless of your financial situation. If you can make money with a small amount of capital, you can make money with a large amount of capital. Your success will also be determined by your vision and goals, as these two factors are the source of your motivation and inspiration. And I believe psychology is one of the keys to success since we all know that our emotions may have a significant impact on our market execution.

There are a few things to look for in identifying good Bitcoin investor. Bitcoin investors need to know how much knowledge and skills they have about Bitcoin and trading. An investor in Bitcoin should have a long term perspective as Bitcoin is fluctuating significantly now if he has invested above the peak then if the market goes down then the long term investment may be stuck where risk management has to be kept in mind.
Moreover, the investor must secure his own assets by using a good wallet and an investor must always keep in mind that there is no guarantee of profit in Bitcoin investment and should be invested with utmost caution.

If you have acquired this knowledge, don't feels relax and relent on what you know, always keep to learning more beca because bitcoin learning is a continuous process in cryptocurrency, we cannot know everything at once and for all, but we gradually keep on improving each day over what we already knew.

An investor in Bitcoin should have a long term perspective as Bitcoin is fluctuating significantly now if he has invested above the peak

There are many ways we can always stays updated about the bitcoin network using many market indications to study the flow and have better understanding of our holding or trading with bitcoin

Well, arent we armchair financiers here! Sure, a savvy investor can gain regardless of their financial status, but doesnt life play a trickier game? Indeed, substantial capital lends a safety net. With a thick wallet, a few wrong trades wont usher in financial ruin. But for the paycheck-to-paycheck folks, is betting big on crypto's wild ride viable? Sure, vision, goals, and mindset matter. But dont they all sway with our financial standing? Isnt it simpler to maintain a sharp vision and upbeat spirit without the worry of next meal? Lets not simplify things here

* they're risk managers
* they're projected

These are very important characteristics of a good bitcoin investor. Having such attributes probably helps any investor, not only the ones in crypto currencies. Without an affinity for numbers and interest in financial knowledge it might be hard for an individual to succeed in investing over a longer period of time. Being lucky a few times and making highly profitable trades is not guaranteeing success longterm. Luck only plays a big role at the start of a career, eventually it will be overtaken by skill. That is also one more point I would add to your list, they're successful. The best way to show skill is by showing the track record for an investor. Being successful over a long period is going to be one of the best selling point and should attract a lot of interest in the investor.

  • Never watches the chart for long time period and gets worried
  • Have his own prediction and continues to invest following DCA
  • Always have the long term focus. Never looks for immediate profiting
  • Makes use of every opportunity to buy little and never miss opportunities
  • Rather than keeping the funds idle tries to increase the holding through trading

Yes exactly those individuals who did these things always considered as a successful bitcoin investor because in short term people will often makes mistakes as there is little time to take decision but if an investor keep his bitcoin for longer term then he will not be in trouble due to lower market rates as there will be hope that one day it will again rise to the previous worth.

Successful bitcoin trader will not spend his money in useless activities but actually he will save the amount for investments which help him in making a prosperous future. Also a successful bitcoin investor never depends totally on others but make their own thoughts by keeping in mind the conclusions of other successful investor.

That sounds more like the ones trying to sell themselves. Most successful bitcoin investors dont show themselves but keep investing and leading a quiet life amidst the hustle and bustle of the community. The ones who might come out to boast will have some motive for doing so, be careful of that - either they have a product to sell or some book their wrote recently. ::)

Its a general idea. Most users here know this but dont know the implication of it. Keeping a wallet secure is the first thing a bitcoin user must do before buying any coins. Knowing how the speculative market works and how to cope with the cycles in the next.

I am just starting to read through this thread, and I cannot resist to make some comments before i get through the whole thing.

I agree with the main sentiments of what you are saying Hatchy; however, I think that you are NOT correct in suggesting that there is a need to diversify in order to have a good investing strategy.

I also disagree that you need to figure out all of the details prior to investing, since starting to put into practice some kind of an investment practice, is likely to help inspire greater learning and also greater incentives to pay attention and to figure out the details.

Accordingly, if someone is a brand new investor, such person may well focus ONLY on investing into bitcoin with a somewhat modest amount of value, such as $10 per week, and then continue to study themselves and bitcoin in order to figure out the extent to which they might need to tweak their initial plan to be more in accordance to what they are learning about themselves and about bitcoin as an investment.

They can also figure out if they want to deploy larger amounts of value to attempt to buy on dips and/or to lump sum invest - including that they can try to figure out what their target BTC accumulation amount is going to be in various timeframes that might be realistic to their projecting out their anticipated cashflow in the coming 6 months, 2 years, 5 years and/or 10 years, and they likely will not even need to be correct in terms of their various projections, except of course, the shorter the timeline the more correct that they have to be in terms of having enough money to pay for things in the next 1-3 months is more urgent than trying to figure out 2-5 years down the road, even though things that any of us might do now, may well likely have impacts upon what kinds of options that we might have 4-10 years or longer into the future... yet our plan about what to do 4-10 years or more into the future will be more well informed once we know where we are at at that time, rather than trying to guess where we will be at at that time, even though we can still have projections.. including more likely and less likely scenarios.. and the more unknowns that we have within the factors that we are considering, then the more difficult it is going to be to have very precise projections into further out timelines.. but should not stop us from projecting out such timelines and even having various ranges, tweak along the way and to keep our earlier version of events to try to improve upon our own planning and/or our attempts to deploy reasonable plans that fit our own personality and circumstances.

* they're risk managers

You are not really talking about (or thinking about) risk properly.  One of the ways to think about risk is to figure out your projection of upside and downside scenarios, and to adjust your position size in terms of your expectations of upside/downside scenarios..  Perhaps you might place various timelines to reassess your investment or to consider whether to make additional changes to the way that you invest (or not) into the asset.

Another related approach is to figure out a  dollar cost averaging approach, and I am talking about bitcoin, and not talking about shitcoins.  Fuck shitcoins.

Anyhow a dollar cost averaging approach can be assessed as $10 per week, $100 per week, $1,000 per week or some other amount that works for your budget, and if you are more skeptical about the investment you might take a lower amount including having a lower target percentage for your accumulation level, so for example a whimpy/skeptical approach may well gravitate towards ONLY reaching around a 1% allocation into bitcoin, and a more aggressive or bullish person might target a 25% allocation into bitcoin, and any of those target allocation/accumulation levels are within a range of reason and could be ways to consider dealing with volatility and/or risk.

The basic ideas of investing are the same whether you are an individual, institution or a government, of course, individuals have more abilities to move faster, but sometimes they do not have access to the same kinds of resources that institutions and/or governments have, and one of the great things about bitcoin has been that individuals are able to front-run institutions and governments because they are both slower in their abilities to implement but they are also slower in terms of their abilities to decide (or determine) that bitcoin is a good investment (including that bitcoin may well be in the process of facilitating the greatest peaceful wealth transfer in the history of man)... and if individuals are able to recognize bitcoin as a good investment and to figure out how to get in early (and perhaps even somewhat aggressively), they are likely going to fair quite well as compared with institutions and/or governments so long as the individuals do not reck themselves in the process by either being too greedy or maybe being sloppy in terms of the ways that they store/secure their coins.

I have my doubts regarding the extent to which anyone needs to know about the tech of bitcoin in order to understand various aspects of the strength of bitcoin's investment thesis.

Sure, try to understand as much as you are able to understand, but don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good and don't kill yourself over those kinds of details since understanding the tech is not a prerequisite towards being able to recognize bitcoin as a good investment in terms of its sound money properties and in terms of the various ways that it has allowed for the widespread storage and communication of value in ways that previously had not been possible.

Quote
And as investor you're not expected to hit and run or even eat up your profit. You've to give it time to grow hip hop and accumulate more.

It is also not bad if you do not take profits. or if the amount of profits that you take is ONLY a very small percentage of your overall BTC holdings, such as if your plan might be to hold bitcoin for 10 years or more or even 20-50 years or to be able to create various kinds of generational wealth with your bitcoin.

If the various possibilities of bitcoin are even close to as great as they are reasonably projected out to be, there can be ways to shave off various profits at various points, and still be rich as fuck into the future, and you have mostly errored on the side of holding your bitcoin rather than selling it for some crap such as fiat.. but surely if there are other ways to diversify your investment, there is nothing wrong with that - but there may well be no need to hold largely inferior assets merely because the value of your bitcoin has become way greater than any other assets that you might hold.

Let's say that you start out with a target investment portfolio that is around 10% to 15% bitcoin, however, over the next 5-8 years (your timeline), you notice that your bitcoin have become 60-90% of the value of your total investment portfolio, and the reason for the lopsidedness has to do with the appreciation of the price of bitcoin, since your other holdings have largely increased at a regular pace of 5% to 10% per year on average, but bitcoin has out performed those other investments, so then in that kind of a case, what is the need to diversify out of bitcoin into "inferior" investments?  I doubt that there is a need to do such a thing, even though each person is free to figure out the extent to which s/he might feel that s/he needs to be invested into assets (such as property, stocks, bonds, cash and/or commodities) other than bitcoin.

I don't know why you are making bitcoin investment look like a university course. Is it how it is contained in your head?
Please have a rethink and simply put that;
A good bitcoin investor is one who buys low and sell high
(...)
Patience is the one true characteristic a good investor must posses, sometimes they are a lot of people with good plan on how to go about their investment but they easily get affected by stories or should I say theories of people who always talk about wild fantasy of them accumulating much from short time trading with their investment which if you are a good investor that fully knows what his doing will understand that holding is the key and all theories of people are sometimes self made and might not work out well if you decide to try it.

And moreover as a good investor you will made research about the product you are investing in (BTC) and would have known by now that  it always has its time to yield from past records, its just a matter of patient are you to wait till the market favours you and not fall in to the short success stories of other people. @a patient holder always laughs last.

Ok... now I am caught up.  I got through the whole thread... a lot of shitcoiners in this thread... and members who don't seem to know the difference between bitcoin and shitcoins nor the difference between investing and trading...

Surely you can employ some trading and gambling tactics in your investing, but the vast majority of investing is not going to fuck around with trading, gambling techniques, pump and dump theories that are involved with shitcoins.. and the technical analysis that goes along with those kinds of short-term ins and outs.

Of course, you can invest with some broader concerns about buying on the way down and selling on the way up, but if you have figured out that the asset that you are investing in (in this case bitcoin) has decently high fundamental value, then you should not be fucking around with trading but instead figuring out techniques to buy it, accumulate it and to hold it for the long term.. which surely there can be challenges in themselves to figure out some reasonable portfolio management that might allow you to offset some of the volatility by selling on the way up and buying on the way down, but if you want to stay invested in the asset (bitcoin in this case) those sells on the way up, should not be largely depleting the overall value of your BTC holdings.. so maybe something like 10% (at most) for every 100% that the BTC price goes up, but you should also figure out the point in which your raking of profits begins to come.. and you might wait until your overall BTC are 3-5x or even more in profits before you even start your raking of profits schemes..

I am getting a lot of these ideas about limiting your BTC sales from the 2013 Thread entitled: (SSS) - A Sane and Simple bitcoin Savings plan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345065.msg3697405#msg3697405) of the late and great Rpietila's (Risto), even though in real life he turned out to be a bit of a unstable drama queen scammer and even shitcoiner. (RIP Risto).

And, so my point is the emphasis of investment rather than trading and screwing around, but instead having some kind of a plan that deals with mostly accumulation, but then when you reach certain high levels of accumulation, you can start to both shave off profits while at the same time. not selling too much of your BTC stash and not making the sales of BTC in order to buy back cheaper but instead to take value off the table.. even if maybe you might still end up using some of the sales proceeds to buy back later or even to provide a kind of downside insurance towards your BTC holdings.

Bitcoin is a good assets to invest on but it's also has it own risk which you must learn.

I mostly agree with you - except the bitcoin investor may well have recognized bitcoin as an investment that is quite distinct from other investments that are currently available to them, and bitcoin is distinct from other investments in terms of its paradigm-shifting aspects and in terms of its bringing the unique abilities to transfer/communicate and store value to the world that has never previously been possible.. so there is a lot of interesting aspects and mysteries in how the bitcoin investment is going to play out as bitcoin matures - and truly bitcoin is still in its very earliest years of adoption..  with less than 1% of the world's population invested into it, and even a large number of those invested into bitcoin are likely under-invested - in terms of how much of their networth is in bitcoin..

How many folks have 1-25% of their networth in bitcoin?  And where are they on that spectrum?  Surely bitcoin is quite private so it is not easy to compile this kind of data regarding how much bitcoin people hold, even though there are a variety of incomplete mechanisms in which we have to theorize regarding the extent to which the information is accurate.

Of course, there are some bitcoin investors who do not really recognize and/or appreciate that bitcoin is something greatly different in terms of its paradigm-shifting dynamics, and they might even falsely categorize bitcoin as if it were a mature asset or somehow significantly and meaningfully comparable to other assets, and surely you, Die_empty, might well be one of those folks who don't really know what the fuck is bitcoin.. even though you act like you do. :D :D :D :D :D

...and the mere fact that you are proclaiming that bitcoin is not any different than any other kind of investment likely reveals your lack of understanding and/or appreciation of the power of king daddy.

Hopefully, you still have enough of dee cornz, even if you may well not understand, recognize and/or appreciate what the fuck it is.  ;) ;)

For me the concept is way simpler than what you're saying, mainly because there are two types of investors: active and passive, meaning that an active investor makes a lot of trades and is supposed to know a lot of news and rumors because timing is everything; then we have the passive investors, those who simply buy, accumulate, and patiently wait. I would say that very few people fall in the first category mainly because those who try to do trading oftentimes end up losing money, I prefer the second category, you just need to be patient (which is not easy) but you'll get your return.

I like that framing idea.. active versus passive, and even though we know that there are gradients within the categories, we can also attempt to recognize where we might be in terms of how active we are or how passive we might be.

I would argue that even within the category of passive, there are some folks who are completely passive in the sense that they may have lump sum bought into bitcoin, and they just sit on their investment (maybe look at it once a quarter-ish).. and then there are those who might make multiple lump sum investments.. and maybe they do a bit of DCA and a bit of attempting to buy on dips.  They are more active than the one who ONLY made one lump sum investment, but they are no way even close to as active as someone who engages in trading or who includes selling in their BTC portfolio management strategies.

So then we can see on the other side of the more active traders, there are traders who will try to catch every swing in BTC price and who might even dabble in shitcoins as a means to try to build their BTC portfolio, and then there would be traders who are less active because they might either ONLY set sell orders for "very BIG" BTC price moves that might take years to play out or they might have a somewhat passive approach in the way that they set their BTC sales that is not attempting to figure out BTC price moves, but instead just having a system set up in which they sell small amounts of BTC at various price increments of the BTC price going up, and so the spreads of the increments may or may not be large, and also the spread between selling and buying back may or may not be large, as well.. the larger these kinds of increment spreads and spreads between sells and buys, then the less active those kinds of traders would be too.

By the way, I tend to fit in this latter group, even though for sure I suggest that newbies do not even attempt to do what I am doing and that they first build up their BTC portfolio by ONLY focusing on ways to buy BTC (and if they sell any BTC, they replace it within a reasonable short period of time), so they are focusing on accumulation based on various ways of buying BTC until they might reach a decently large BTC stack size, then they might consider (if they want) to include some selling techniques within their BTC portfolio management strategies.

So yes, you could still be an investor employing any of these kinds of tactics, and surely I would agree that the more active that a person is in terms of trading and fucking around with a variety of strategies to try to time markets, they may well not fit as much of a strict investor - especially when they might be emphasizing their own abilities to stack dollars rather than seeing value in making sure that their BTC stash is ongoingly maintained and growing (which would be emphasizing the stacking of sats).

Of course, since we live in a world that includes a lot of fiat systems and fiat emphasis, bitcoiners likely are going to have some kinds of dilemmas regarding how much to emphasize how much they are investing time, money and energies into building their fiat values versus building their BTC values.. and all of us are not going to come to the same conclusions regarding how and where to strike those kinds of balances.. and Jeff Booth talks quite a bit about the transition over to the bitcoin system being difficult for those people who are failing/refusing to recognize and appreciate bitcoin for the new system that it is and the new system that is going  to continue to suck (and gravitate) value into it... and many of the longer term bitcoiners realize/appreciate that it remains a good idea to continue to have ourselves invested in bitcoin in a variety of ways financially, psychologically and how we spend our time, even if we might not completely detach ourselves from fiat systems that continue to be all around us - depending on how active we are in the world in terms of consuming goods and services and needing to transact in fiat to the extent to which the bitcoin circular economy is still in its very infancy stages in terms of how much any of us might be able to consume goods and services through bitcoin.

Any newbie investor had a lot of task to do and a long way to go when they are set for bitcoin investment, this is not what to just determined overnight and invested because you've got some financial opportunities to invest and hold, have we also consider that bitcoin is a digital currency which means that we are not expected to buy money, we rather exchange for it or earn it by different means, this could be one of the best ways we can be a good investor, how do we now invest also matters alot, but the road to this here now begins with learning, knowing the different investment plans and strategies, how we could reduce the cost of loss and maximize profits, how we can sell and be on the good advantage of such decision and many more ways we could adopt while trying to be a good bitcoin investor.

Of course, you have to decide these kinds of balances for yourself to the extent that you believe that you are going to be able to build your bitcoin investment (and the size of your overall investment portfolio) by engaging in selling rather than ongoing, consistent and persistent buying of BTC behaviors... especially presumptively as a newbie who is in the earlier stages of building his/her wealth/investment portfolio.

For sure, there could be strategies that end up working out well to sell some BTC (or even all of your BTC) on the way up, but there are a lot of prior BTC holders who became completely bitter because they sold their BTC at profits, but the BTC price continued to go up and either did not correct back below the previous sell price or it took a year or two before the BTC price corrected back below the prior BTC sell price which caused for a lot of frustration in terms of lost opportunities in terms of the higher BTC prices... including that sometimes if the BTC price is high for so long, the frustrated person ends up buying back in at higher prices, which is not necessarily a good strategy, even though it might seem like the more obvious strategy when a person ends up contributing to himself being a low coiner or a no coiner.

No one can tell you where to strike such balances, and my own personal philosophy is to really error on the side of buying and ongoingly buying, and maybe coming up with some kind of measure that you will not play around with selling until after your portfolio has reached 1 or 2x the size of your annual income.. yet of course, there might be other kinds of criteria or even some kinds of ways to approach selling in such a way that you are not really selling very many BTC, so that even if you sell some BTC on the way up, you are not selling high portions of your BTC holdings... and if you have not looked at Rpietila's (Risto's) 2013 thread, maybe you should?  (SSS) - A Sane and Simple bitcoin Savings plan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345065.msg3697405#msg3697405)

Patience is the tool use to determine a good BTC investors, because many BTC investors has failed in so many ways not to earn well from their investment, just because they didn't exercise patience to hold for the right time to come. Any BTC investors that Carry patience along in his or her investment, it is very difficult for such investors to miss it in future, you know why? he or she will be counting some months or years he or she has been holding that particular coin which he or she believe that the price will definitely come through for he or she to smile at the end, that is what make someone a good investor. Over a month now, the price of BTC is still around $30k and many investors who don't endure any longer will sell , but those potential investors that Carry patience will not sell until the price hit $80k or $100k before they can sell to make a good result.

To become a good investor first:

1. Patience

2.  Ability to understand risk

3.  Adopting techniques with careful planning and vetting before taking any action.

4.  Always keep portfolio in mind otherwise it is natural to face danger.  And don't put all your eggs in one basket.

5. And a skilled investor must know the latest updates about the market.

A prudent investor must adopt these approaches.  Because all qualities must be present in an investor otherwise one may face losses.

Indeed, this notion holds true. A savvy Bitcoin investor always exercises prudence when making decisions. Calculations and strategies in the realm of investments bear paramount importance, for in the domain of Bitcoin, one must not solely rely on the capricious whims of fortune.

Here are other facets that may serve as fundamental knowledge to steer your Bitcoin investments in a more purposeful and well-orchestrated direction:

-Conduct thorough research and seek education
-Implement risk management techniques
-Choose a reputable exchange platform
-Opt for a trustworthy wallet provider
-Stay continuously updated on the latest news
-Embrace a long-term perspective
-Comprehend the nuances of legal regulations

Adapt these principles to your preferred investment style, so as not to disrupt your efficacy.

Because you cannot praise yourself the matter what you are good in it. It is others who sees you doing well will praise you. Your good character of doing things with calm mind is okay to be a good investor.

Many many thanks for your information. Your provided information can help us to found a good investor. I think for investment on bitcoin a investor need to follow upper mentioned point, then he will be a good Bitcoin investor.

That's true, because someone who has good planning and a very wise way of managing finances and is also able to have good risk management is someone who can be a good investor for anything (including for Bitcoin). Because someone who has all the elements mentioned by the OP is a very extraordinary person so he is not only suitable to be a Bitcoin investor, but also very suitable to be an investor in assets other than Bitcoin as long as these assets are the best for him.

Because sometimes it is very difficult to have all of these things consistently in someone, especially if an investor must be able to maintain it in the long term. Of course it's not very easy to do because even though it's not an impossible thing to do for everyone who wants to make himself a good investor for several assets (including Bitcoin).

Serious investors will see that what you say is true. We've all started this bitcoin path with our own plans, some of which are static and some of which aren't. Each plan leaves its own mark in the blockchain ledger. Bitcoin, at its core, goes beyond standard ways of investing. It's like a blank canvas on which we can each paint our own financial plans. No matter what method you use, a friendly tip is to remember that the end goal is to get more sats. Don't sell just because the market is unstable. Keeping your bitcoin is, in many ways, a moral act that shows you believe in a better way to handle money.

But hey, could we look into a mix of passive and active tactics, like holding for the long term and trading wisely? A way to deal with the volatility of the bitcoin market while still honoring the core concept of "hodling"?

As we deal with these problems, we start to doubt. It's normal, just like feeling angry about the financial system. But we're the first ones to do this and are on the verge of a financial change. Embrace this role with a longing for the old system and an idea for a future that is based on bitcoin.

Who says those who sell a portion or all of their BTC aren’t bitcoin faithfuls or good bitcoin investors. Perhaps they’ve got the plans to buy it back when it dips and would still be on profit, hodling when it starts rising.

Come in,
Bitcoin remains a p2p commodity on the blockchain network and the multitude that still uses it as such, using it like a currency which it is, they aren’t doing it wrong and we can’t say they aren’t good investors. We can’t be centered on just one aspect to a multidimensional bitcoin.

Those who wish to hodl should br encouraged,
Those who wants to spend it for a currency should do so,
Those who wants to trade it on the market can have their go at it for sure.

It’s just bitcoin being used as it should be.

An investor must have such integrity. So all the points @Agbe mentions are quite valuable for a P2P trader. But since I will only have Bitcoins to invest in, I also need a good reputation and integrity, so these qualities are definitely needed in an investor. But to be an investor is to invest with a keen mind so that risks, and a plan to do market research, all these things are hidden inside an honest and skilled investor.
I hope you understand....

yes, indeed patience is one of the keys to good success in investing in btc, because indeed if we are impatient in investing in btc then of course there will be the potential for losses, so investing in btc really requires a strong mentality so that it has the potential to make a profit. so a great btc investor is an investor who works hard at everything and never gives up. so investing in btc is not easy because you have to keep learning to find extensive knowledge.

You are not really saying anything wrong - yet there still remains preferences that each person has to figure out his/her own strategies, and of course, many of us have already concluded and presume bitcoin to be a good long term investment, and if there is agreement with that, then there should be consciousness that is developed from each person regarding what their personal goals are in terms of accumulating sats and how many they believe that they need for their own personal situation, including how fast they should be striving to accumulate such sats, and with which methods are going to be best to aim them at reaching their own personally tailored goals.

So I am not going to presume the goals are going to be the same for everyone, since we already know that a vast majority of people in the world have not actually taken actions to accumulate any bitcoin... so some of those people have heard of bitcoin, but they have not determined it to be important enough for them to actually take actions towards accumulating it, and even though many of us bitcoiners believe that they need to get the fuck off of zero, they have to come to their own conclusion(s) regarding whether they need to get off zero and how to go about it.. and perhaps many of them will end up investing into bitcoin at much higher prices than current prices because they have not spent enough time to figure out that it likely would be in their better interest to actually start stacking however much bitcoin that they are able to stack without over doing it.

Who says those who sell a portion or all of their BTC aren’t bitcoin faithfuls or good bitcoin investors. Perhaps they’ve got the plans to buy it back when it dips and would still be on profit, hodling when it starts rising.

Sure people can do whatever they like, even dumb shit.

I would not characterize anyone as a bitcoin faithful who does not maintain some bitcoin, so selling all their bitcoin does not seem like someone who actually understands bitcoin, even if bitcoin has historically had great peaks in does not seem like a good idea to sell large portions of anyone's bitcoin holdings.. even though surely selling some bitcoin as prices go up and perhaps even decent sizes of the bitcoin portfolio might be acceptable, but selling all of their bitcoin would cause me to conclude that they don't understand bitcoin enough in order to continue to hold some of their stash, even if it may well end up dropping 80% in value from a price in which they are holding it and that they could sell if they wanted, but they still choose not to sell all of it... and what portion should they hold onto in order to be considered a convicted bitcoiner would likely depend upon what are their individual circumstances.

Come in,
Bitcoin remains a p2p commodity on the blockchain network and the multitude that still uses it as such, using it like a currency which it is, they aren’t doing it wrong and we can’t say they aren’t good investors. We can’t be centered on just one aspect to a multidimensional bitcoin.

I get your point that people can do whatever they like when it comes to bitcoin, they can get in or they can get out or they can try to manipulate the bitcoin market.  bitcoin is for everyone.  Friends and enemies.

Those who wish to hodl should br encouraged,
Those who wants to spend it for a currency should do so,
Those who wants to trade it on the market can have their go at it for sure.

It’s just bitcoin being used as it should be.

Yes.. they can do what they like, but some of those things might not be very smart, especially if you might want to get to fuck you status.... but hey whatever, each person can do what they like, and you have made your point... but it does not mean that they even know what the fuck they are doing, and if we are focusing in this thread upon what we might believe is a "good bitcoin investor" then selling all of your BTC does not seem to make a good bitcoin investor, but hey do what you like.. if you want to sell all of your bitcoin, then hopefully you do not end up selling too many too soon and then becoming bitter... especially since bitcoin is actually a vehicle to one of the greatest (if not the greatest) peaceful wealth transfers, in history, and if you want to fuck around with trading and trying to buy back cheaper, that is upon you to take those kinds of chances.. You are free to do so, and king daddy gives no shits if you end up having to buy back 50% higher because you ended up having the wrong mindset and you ended up selling too many too soon because you thought that you were smarter than everyone else.. like a smart virus.   :o :o :o

An ideal investor should have a number of qualities, presence of which we can call him a good investor.
An investor will have confidence in his investment and know in detail about the risks involved in the investment.
An investor will always believe in the principle of DYOR (Do Your Own Research) because he will always invest according to his own thoughts and plans and will not depend on anyone else's opinion for investment.
An investor should never fear FUD(Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) to invest, never invest in anything uncertain, and definitely never hesitate to invest. All these qualities are present in an ideal investor.
The principle of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) must exist in the ideal investor because when an investor makes an investment and if the invested Bitcoin suddenly increases or decreases to a large extent, then at that moment he should give up all fear and hold the investment patiently.

Being an investor necessitates substantial financial, legal, and fundamental knowledge. Additionally, experience is crucial in this sector. Every day, the quantity of victories and defeats you've endured makes you a better person. Though there are no shortcuts, there are a few points to remember when investing.

Learn everything you can about the stock's value you want to buy: Read the company's financials, news about the company, their growth through time, the type of firm they are, and the brand's authenticity.

Don't rush: Just because you think the stock is good doesn't imply you should buy it right away. Wait a few days and watch how the stocks move for a week or two.

Facts trump senses: Gut instincts can be helpful, but not always. Facts or solid evidence provide more proof and reasoning, allowing for better investment decisions.

* they're futuristic
* they're planners
* they're financial manager
* they're risk managers
* they're projected

That's how to know a good investors of bitcoin who do not see challenges but the possibilities of making their future work.
Bitcoin is a good assets to invest on but it's also has it own risk which you must learn.

I mean good investors are the ones who make the research before even starting to invest in something, calculate the risk and reward of the investment if it is worth the risk, or invest into some of the investors just going to start investing right away without even considering the risk of the investment because they are just afraid that they might lose the opportunity, But I think calculating the risk of an investment is just one of the ways to know if you're going to invest into some projects if your investment is going to be 100$ for example and you calculate the price projection of 100k$ I mean that just worth the risk since if you're going to earn that kind of amount or lose your 100$ it was just a 100$ and in the end, you could easily recover from that lose, but the project of the project was great and if it becomes a success you earn a good amount of profit. I mean it's better than losing your opportunity to that kind of investment. For sure as long as you have the knowledge and know what you're doing you're going to earn a profit.

Who says those who sell a portion or all of their BTC aren’t bitcoin faithfuls or good bitcoin investors. Perhaps they’ve got the plans to buy it back when it dips and would still be on profit, hodling when it starts rising.
Actually, for things like this it depends on everyone's thoughts and strategies, we cannot consider it wrong or right in this case because everyone has their own perspective.
But when talking about bitcoiners of course there may be special specifications about this and those who sell certainly for some people will not be considered bitcoiners.
Although in this case they have their own perspective but they also cannot determine the perspective of everyone who judges them.

Besides that, selling and then buying again when the price is high does sound reasonable and seems very doable but of course things like this will not be able to be done by everyone because it could be that when selling we can't buy again because the predictions made are wrong.
So when you don't have the qualifications there it is better to stay with the bitcoin you have than to sell and buy again when the price is cheap but we are still worried about the choices made.

Over a month now, the price of BTC is still around $30k and many investors who don't endure any longer will sell , but those potential investors that Carry patience will not sell until the price hit $80k or $100k before they can sell to make a good result.

yes, indeed patience is one of the keys to good success in investing in btc, because indeed if we are impatient in investing in btc then of course there will be the potential for losses, so investing in btc really requires a strong mentality so that it has the potential to make a profit. so a great btc investor is an investor who works hard at everything and never gives up. so investing in btc is not easy because you have to keep learning to find extensive knowledge.

We all know Bitcoin is a digital currency. If you want to trade bitcoin then you need to know well about bitcoin first then you have to invest in it. You can't expect the profit you will get with Bitcoin investment because actually these things work skills and strategy play a very important role. When you trade bitcoin coins you have to time it all the time thinking you have to buy in short market and sell when the market goes up. If you trade Bitcoin like this I believe you will take some time here but it will bring success in your life.

I think, a good point is not necessarily going to bring something big that we really want, and it is our job to make that good point even better in the future, and bitcoin has all the criteria.
We will be able to feel something very big when we sell bitcoin, and I am sure for people who bought when the price touched 15k some time ago, they will get a big profit when they sell today at 29k as I write this. But is that what we really want? Of course not. The current price is still far from the last ATH price, and I personally have faith that bitcoin will be able to reach a new ATH, yes although I can't be sure when exactly that will happen. But my belief is based and for me it is a very good thing to continue to hold it.

The topic arises when the animosity of bitcoin maximalists on the forum and Twitter towards altcoin holders is at its minimum. It is now the wisest course of action for bitcoin maximalists to embrace the potential benefits of both altcoins and bitcoins, fostering authentic discussions across all platforms. This will enable them to devise the most effective strategies and execute them at the opportune moment

However, before investing in Bitcoin you need to follow the advice of an experienced and knowledgeable investor to be profitable. It is true that before investing it is important to observe various important researches properly as well as adopt various market strategies. And to invest in Bitcoin, you must invest when the market is in a bear market and wait for a bull market. In particular, the investor has no role in the ups and downs of Bitcoin prices. Because an investor does not have to worry about selling Bitcoins after the right time is in his possession, this is the main goal of the investor. It is not legal for an investor to consider buying when the price of Bitcoin goes down and sell when the price of Bitcoin goes up. If you want to understand it must be strictly limited to Bitcoin. Because our predictions can be wrong, research doesn't always come out right.

It is better to stick with purchased bitcoins than buying and selling bitcoins again and again because we are always concerned about making the right decisions.

But my belief is based and for me it is a very good thing to continue to hold it.

There are likely some BTC investors who sold BTC around $20k or below $20k because they ended up panicking, and even coming up with a theory that BTC prices might go down to $12k or even lower, but we know that $12k or lower did not happen because the lowest that we got was about $15,479.

Furthermore some of those folks who sold BTC around or below $20k may well have bought their BTC on average for much lower prices, so in terms of dollars they may well have gotten a profit, so technically they might not be incorrect in terms of experiencing dollar profits.. but they also might end up having to buy back at way higher prices in the future because they ended up having way too few BTC and perhaps no BTC because they did not employ sufficiently prudent and/or smart BTC investment strategies, even though at the time that they sold their BTC they were thinking that they did the right thing, especially given the then circumstances and their view of what they thought bitcoin would do (even though they ended up being wrong).

Historically, we have a lot of similar circumstances in which guys are bragging how smart they were on some of their BTC trades, and surely they may have even made decently large dollar profits, but then they end up hardly having any BTC when the BTC price goes up they are not prepared for UP.. even if they already made a lot of dollar profits, and sometimes the BTC price goes up several times or even 10x, and does not end up coming back down, and even if they were to later invest into bitcoin, they might ONLY be able to purchase a fraction of their previous BTC holdings, maybe even in the category of 1/10th the amount... so sometimes it can take a while to figure out if someone is a smart/good investor or not, even if they might make some moves/trades that seem to be smart and profitable.

I know that in my own personal situation, I probably could not even accumulate 1/10 of the amount of BTC that I currently own.. and furthermore, in order to accomplish that level of purchasing of BTC, I would be putting my whole investment portfolio in a kind of high level of stress - so it seems to be way better to be attempting to accumulate as many BTC as you can reasonably accumulate on a regular basis, but also as soon as you are able to do so, and sure, there is nothing wrong with attempting to get more BTC when the BTC price drops, but there also should be recognitions that sometimes the BTC price is not going to drop as much as you like so you have to be careful to make sure that you are prepared for UP in the event that UP ends up happening.. and surely neither UP nor DOWN are guaranteed, even when we perceive high odds for whatever scenarios that we believe or that we see others spouting.

Fuck shitcoins.  We are not talking about shitcoins in this thread.

Do you see what topic that you are in?

If you get distracted with shitcoins, then you likely are failing/refusing to adequately understand and appreciate the power of king daddy bitcoin, especially if you believe that there is any kind of real/meaningful need to get involved in shitcoins in terms of your brain power, your time, your energies and/or your finances.

Figure out bitcoin first, and then maybe at some later date, maybe you might want to fuck around with some shitcoins, but getting involved in shitcoins is not necessary in order to understand and/or to profit from bitcoin investing and likely getting involved in shitcoin is likely to have a dilutive and/or distractive effect in regards to figuring out, managing and employing a bitcoin and/otherwise prudent and reasonable investing strategy.

Patience is the tool use to determine a good BTC investors, because many BTC investors has failed in so many ways not to earn well from their investment, just because they didn't exercise patience to hold for the right time to come. So in investing or trading one always needs to adopt different strategies and gain experience to expect something bright in future.

Trading is a more advanced strategy, and surely is not necessary in order to get started in terms of investing into bitcoin.  Sure, newbies can trade if they are really interested in the topic, but it is a niche kind of specialty that takes quite a bit of time to learn, and it probably is not really worth the time for most people, unless you just feel some kind of need to learn about it, and even if you feel some kind of need to learn about trading, it is probably still likely necessary to create both an investing and a trading practice that likely has self-imposed limitations on the quantity of funds that would be available for trading and really figuring out ways how to NOT get tempted to easily break your own self-imposed limitations.

Also, in order to start investing in bitcoin, there is no need to wait for a bear market.  There is not a problem with getting started as soon as possible.   Sure there might be ways that anyone who is new might try to buy on dips and also figure out ways to make sure that they are comfortable in terms of having enough bitcoin that they are prepared for UP, while at the same time having some strategies for buying more BTC if the price goes down.

Surely some of the presumptions of investing into bitcoin at any time would be that the investment timeline is 4-10 years or more, and if your investment timeline is less than 4 years, then you may well have to employ different strategies, including perhaps taking a smaller (rather than a larger) BTC position since you likely are more of a short term, rather than medium to long term investor.

It all depends on perspective. They are free to do what they need to do and there is no restriction on that and no prohibition on doing such things.
But when reflecting on the initial topic where the main point is a good bitcoin investor then indirectly we are and invest well in it.
I think that by trading or spending bitcoin on goods it is not included in the criteria for a good bitcoin investor, right?
But that's also not wrong because everyone has their own perspective in this regard, it's just that when it comes to being a good bitcoin investor then in this case I think holding back is a certainty.

Yes, it's not possible anymore, but I'm sure that many of them do this kind of thing, there are several reasons, one of which is because they panic, and what we see a lot of is from those who are already from the beginning to take advantage in a short time, and they keep doing it. They still get benefits, but in this case there are things they might miss, namely when suddenly bitcoin moves up they will be a little behind.
I prefer those who sell bitcoin because their original intention was only to take advantage of a short rise, rather than those who panic because some people say that bitcoin might touch a price lower than the lowest price bitcoin reached some time ago. I have seen some of them saying that bitcoin will hit 12k or lower, like you said, so they decided to sell their bitcoin because they want to get the lowest price. Not wrong, but if we prepare from the beginning for that possibility, we don't have to sell bitcoin quickly, because of course with careful preparation we will be prepared to buy back bitcoin at the lowest price. Most people like that are not committed to what they planned at the beginning.

Yes, each person has to choose their own path, and the reasons for the sales might NOT always be the same in terms of how much they actually know about bitcoin or how much commitment that they have in regards to bitcoin as a long term investment, so sometimes they will create various entrance and exit strategies (price points), so they might not even be panicking in regards to carrying out their plan.. but they still might not be as informed about bitcoin as they believe that they are...

and I am not even suggesting that any of us really know where the BTC price is going to go, even though at the same time, it seems to me to be better to prepare for considerable upside scenarios, even if we might not believe the BTC price to go there.

I recall during my first experienced bull run in 2017, I had a relatively conservative plan in which I had considered that the BTC price might top off in the ball park of $3k to $5k, but at the same time I was somewhat prepared for higher price scenarios including that it ended up going up to $19,666, and probably I had ONLY sold around 10% of my total BTC stash at various points all the way up... and I suppose at the same time, I was still learning how to manage my BTC holdings and at the same time the psychology of having the BTC price go up around 5x higher than the more bullish scenarios that I had in mind, but then come crashing back down to the $3k to $5k and then largely correcting back down to around $3k to $5k and maybe mostly staying a bit higher between $5k and $10k for the next three-ish years (between early 2018 and late 2020).

Those are not necessarily easy roller coasters to see the value of your BTC holdings to go up around 78x from the $250 bottom in 2015 and then to come back down to the place that you were considering to be the high range for that cycle.. so there can be some trauma and even difficulties to figure out how to manage your BTC holdings in such a way that is comfortable with your own psychology and even to have enough conviction about your ongoing holdings of BTC to mostly just continue to hold what you have and not to go too crazy in terms of selling any of it.. even if it might well have average costs that are less than $1k per BTC, so the profits still remain pretty decent, whether adding more BTC to the stash or just not doing anything or perhaps even selling a bit of it for whatever expenses might come up.. but if you manage your cashflow well, there might NOT be any need to sell large amounts of your BTC during the dipping times of the BTC cycle.

If we look at all of the investments that we have we might consider if there might be times in we might want to sell some of our BTC so that we are NOT overly exposed to BTC in terms of either how much value we have into it or even how much psychology that we have in terms of having the amount of value into BTC that we have... so sometimes there might be some needs to pull some value out, in the event that we don't have other investments, but if we already have various other investments, it might not hurt to continue to allow our best performing assets (BTC in this cases) to just continue to ride, even if it might be disproportionately overvalued in terms of what had been our original accumulation targets.

In my own case, I had not really known what my BTC accumulation target was going to be, but after I spent about a year (in 2014) accumulating BTC, I started to figure out that BTC was becoming around 10% of the value of my overall quasi-liquid investment portfolio, and I thought that 10% was a decently good target - however, with BTC prices staying flat throughout 2015, I continued to buy and ended up reaching around a 13.5% allocation by the end of 2015, and since BTC prices went up during 2016 and 2017, my allocation ended up growing from 13.5% to around 75% based on BTC price appreciation, and so then it dipped back down to be around 45% and then currently is maybe in the 85% or so territory based on price appreciation..

...so it may or may not be necessary to reallocate, but at the same time we have to remember that if we get out of BTC, then we may well be getting into inferior asset classes, and it may not necessarily be a good idea to diversify out of a winning performer, even something like BTC.. even if our allocation in BTC might have had gotten to be a way higher portion than our initial allocation amount and in my case the amount was 10%, but then I ended up slipping and making it 13.5% or so, and so there would be a lot of sales of BTC even if I were to bring it back down to 25%,,, and I am not even sure if that would be necessary to diversify out of BTC and end up buying something that is likely inferior.

having a strict policy
though am new to the whole Bitcoin world and it's concept but in addition to what mr suevie said, I believe having some qualities without a strict policy to fall back to will result to an incompetent investor as trying times may arise which could cause panic, policies are actually the building foundation of competency and when you don't have one trust me the outcome would be a disaster.

If an investor really acquires all the needed information or education about any investment (in Bitcoin) they are making, then they will be ready and prepared for any "trying time (emergencies)" like you mentioned. The bitcoin price is always volatile, and it's not an asset that you can just assume will take profit within one or two months; you really have to hold it for a long time before you can make much profit. Another thing is that when you are aware of how volatile the market can be, even if the price of Bitcoin dips below the price you bought, you won't be in a panic and will not sell off to incur a loss.

very good contribution, In my opinion, identifying a good Bitcoin investor implies considering characteristics such as persistence, self-discipline and a deep knowledge of how Bitcoin works.
These qualities are essential to succeed in this world. Although investing in BTC or cryptocurrency in general is not a fast track to getting rich, it can be profitable with a long-term perspective and well-informed decisions. and above all, recognize the inherent risk and not panic and make a move that harms the investor, due to the high volatility in this type of investment. Therefore, I would recommend investing only the money that you can afford to lose. A good additional piece of advice would be to have a job with a stable income that is not affected by investments, to avoid compromised financial situations.

There are so many things that makes a good bitcoin investor for me all of them is openness and honesty. And they adopt a strategic thinking and their attention is not divided. It is important to note and study Bitcoin and those in it to be able to pick out the good from the bad ones.

As you grow up, you learn certain kinds of competencies, and even if you did not officially learn how to manage your finances, at some point in life, you likely will need to learn how to manage your finances, and if no one teaches you, then you have to learn yourself, including learning how to invest, since if you do not invest, then you are likely going to have to continue to work until you die.. Of course, there might be some state systems that might help you out, but there likely is some value in terms of figuring out ways to improve your own situation rather than relying upon systems that may or may not hold up at times when you would prefer to discontinue working..

There should be some value in terms of building wealth in your youth, so that at some point when you get older you will not have to work as hard (or perhaps not at all) in order to stay comfortable, and no one here seems to be suggesting that any of the choices are easy, but if you fail to act because you are afraid or you want someone to teach you, then you likely are going to miss out upon a lot of possibilities to help to secure your future with better kinds of assets and even having savings that hold its value.

Experience is a great teacher, so jump the fuck in and get started, and if you feel that you do not have enough competence then just start with basics, which is figuring out the kinds of assets or money that hold their value the best and stock up on them, and if you finally at some point come to realize that bitcoin is likely amongst the best of assets (if not the best) then you may well both figure out that you need to learn about bitcoin and you may well figure out that you need to engage in some behaviors to save up upon it, perhaps with a certain amount of aggressiveness, but at the same time, hopefully not so much aggressiveness that you end up recking yourself because you got greedy and you failed./refused to keep enough money in cash (or perhaps other less valuable than bitcoin assets that you can spend) in order to be able cover your various monthly expenses without having to tap into your bitcoin stash during its building and accumulation and compounding stages, which could well take you 10-30 years to build to a meaningful level and to learn how to sufficiently safeguard it too.. and no one is saying that any of these matters are easy, even though you likely will be advantaged by making efforts to learn and to put your learnings into practice earlier rather than waiting around... and hoping that someone teaches you how to be financially and self-preservingly competent.

Yes is true, if everybody have the same thought that will be extremely not okay, some people have to go the wrong way for others to hear something good,

I am not saying that.  Each of us has to choose the best path for ourselves in order to make sure that we have a situation in which we can increase our chances for having a better life and preserving value... but the mere fact that we are able to win does not mean that others have to lose.  That is retarded kind of thinking.. to be acting as if the value is a fixed pie - since there are some things in life in which others do not have to lose in order for each of us to strive towards winning.

Part of the thing about some people winning and other people not winning is that some people have BIGGER obstacles, bad luck and sometimes they just make dumb choices.. or they choose to gamble rather than being prudent and reasonable in their investment approaches.. or they fail/refuse to learn, so instead of investing they engage in gambling while erroneously "believing" that they are investing.

I have lived a life of honor and I have understand that their are some people who hear good things through bad things, just imagine a Case were a scammer tells someone who don't know anything about Bitcoin because he's trying to scam the client, that learning good from a bad reputative person, mean while a good investor doesn't live he's life so low because he's not working for the more but taking risk and if the money comes it takes grace for the investors to use the money wisely.

Well sure.. there are scammers in the world, so each of us is responsible for our own behaviors and our own actions, including if we are willing to follow scammers who might be showing us short-cuts in regards to how to get rich quicker.  Each of us has to figure out these matters, and there are some kinds of investments that are not scams, including but not limited to bitcoin... and if you don't recognize and appreciate the value and power of bitcoin then maybe that is upon you to figure out how to learn moar better.. and to be careful in regards to who you trust, including sometimes storing your coins in such ways because you are trying to get yield, when you may well be (and likely are)  better off by storing your own keys and being careful in any kinds of third party custodian solutions/services , even though sometimes using some third party services might sometimes be acceptable and beneficial as long as you do not put all (or large portions) of your BTC stash into those kinds of services.

You do not need to know everything, and you can learn as you go... including starting out by investing a small amount and then building your investment as your knowledge improves and maybe your cashflow also improves, then you might be able to dedicate more towards investing into bitcoin and also learning how to preserve and secure your investment becomes more and more important as the size of the investment grows, so the more that the investment grows, the more incentive that investors will have to learn more about their investment and to learn about ways to safeguard it.

I am trying to translate the meaning of what you are saying, but it seems grammar and typographical errors are a barrier here.

To me, one could be considered a good investor if he or she has the ability to foresee every reasonable doubt about the rise and fall of Bitcoin and yet chooses to make an investment. There is no investment that has no risk involved in it; there is always risk involved, but the ability for one to manage and reduce those risks to a minimal level is what makes the person outstand his competitor when it comes to profit making. As a good investor, you should know how to overcome fear and overlook some fuzz in order not to be a victim of panic selling, which could make you record losses instead of making some profits.

IMO in conditions like this you just have to focus on what you are aiming for is actually very good in my opinion.
We have our own goals in this case even if what you say is right but it doesn't mean it will be right for other people so in this case focusing on what you want to achieve is something that is actually good for you.
To say invest what you can afford to lose actually I don't really agree with phrases like this. indeed I know that bitcoin has risks but I am here and investing in bitcoin not to lose the investment I made and it is supported by some learning and how bitcoin progresses so I don't want to lose the money I invested.
Bitcoin is something that is very good and worth investing in so I don't want to miss something like this and when you feel that losing your money doesn't matter then indirectly this becomes less meaningful in your process because you feel it doesn't matter if we lose because we have tried. but my concept, I prefer to try my best and don't want to lose what I invested here because I don't think this will get lost and lost if we do it the right way.

To put it straight, investment is the future. When you fail to invest, you're toying with your future. No state system will continue to be helping you till you die unless you die early. Here in my state, the system will help you for certain number of years and stop when you reach that year. By the way, it's not for everyone again, only those opportune to be their slave and work for them tirelessly. Either you die or not, once you attain that age limit you'll be left alone for yourself irrespective of your condition.

There's no perfect time to start investing than now, every opportunity that comes our way should be wholly grabbed because the state system will definitely fail you. Bitcoin is however recommended for investment now and tomorrow.

I think it's all about knowing what Bitcoin really is. If you know what you are doing and with what, it will make you the best on that subject. Know and learn your stuff and plan accordingly. That's what a good investor is to me. Bitcoin is a long-term investment plan. If you are a trader, you can make quick money by taking advantage of the volatile market. But if you truly want to invest in Bitcoin, you need to have a long-term mindset. Because with Bitcoin, all you need is time. After that time, you can just sell at high and book your profits.
So it all comes down to how well you know what you are investing in. Plan it out and execute that plan. But nothing is 100% guaranteed in the crypto world. Be sure to make a plan for that too. Plan out how much you can afford to lose. Bitcoin does not take away all your investment. In time, you will get back what you invested. If you have the will to hodl longer, you will get profits too.

Over a month now, the price of BTC is still around $30k and many investors who don't endure any longer will sell , but those potential investors that Carry patience will not sell until the price hit $80k or $100k before they can sell to make a good result.

yes, indeed patience is one of the keys to good success in investing in btc, because indeed if we are impatient in investing in btc then of course there will be the potential for losses, so investing in btc really requires a strong mentality so that it has the potential to make a profit. so a great btc investor is an investor who works hard at everything and never gives up. so investing in btc is not easy because you have to keep learning to find extensive knowledge.

To start trading Bitcoin, you must first do a thorough research on the market. When a newbie is interested in investing he never notices these things due to which he is exposed to risk. If you invest by adopting such practices, you will definitely get success, if you invest without knowing the future, it is sure that you will face losses. So in investing or trading one always needs to adopt different strategies and gain experience to expect something bright in future.
The thought that we have to make a profit by investing cannot be brought to our mind first, first you have to think how you can get enough knowledge about investing. If at first the thought of how to make profit comes to mind then we can never acquire proper knowledge about investment so first of all we have to learn. After acquiring various investment concepts you need to control your emotions along with the ability to take risks and have enough patience. All of these factors are essential to succeed in investing.

It seems to me that the expression, "don't invest more than you can afford to lose" has at least a couple of angles.

First, you have to realize that any investment, no matter what (including bitcoin) has a potential to either go to zero or to spiral downwardly in value.  Of course, many of us have concluded that bitcoin's investment thesis is quite strong and so in that regard, it has pretty damned good odds of gravitating in the upward direction with the passage of time, even though there might be a lot of volatility along the way and even extended periods of negative price performance.  So yeah.. no one wants to lose money in any investment that they take, but if you are not accepting the fact that either your investment could spiral downward, go to zero or fail/refuse to go up within the time period of your investment, then perhaps you have invested too much into such investment (in this case bitcoin).

Second, another aspect of "not investing more than you can afford to lose" has to do with managing your short-to-medium cashflows and your emotions.  So for sure you need to be budgeting your investment into bitcoin in such a way that you do not overdo it and you have enough money to cover all of your monthly expenses - including being able to cover such monthly expenses for very long periods of time without having to rely upon bitcoin - or having to cash out of some of it at such a time that is not of your choosing (which could well be at times when the BTC price has gone down or is in low periods).  Of course if you are greatly in profits, then it might not even matter if the BTC price dips greatly and for extended periods of time, because you are still in profits even if you end up cashing out some BTC (on a kind of as needed rather than panic basis) to cover expenses.  So surely, the emotional component can affect you the more that your finances end up being stressed.

I think that it is an important concept to keep in mind.. "don't invest more than you can afford to lose" .. even if many of us consider the investment thesis of bitcoin to be quite strong, including the likelihood of it spiraling down or going to zero to be quite low, as well. Bitcoin is likely the best asymmetric bet that anyone has available in current times, so even though that may well signal that it is acceptable to be decently aggressive in your investment approach into bitcoin, it still does not protect anyone from either overdoing their aggressiveness and recking themselves or that some circumstance could come about or happen that negates the strength of bitcoin's currently strong investment thesis and in those kinds of scenarios any of us who are mostly invested in bitcoin lose money including that if bitcoin is cascading to zero, there might not be any ways to get out or to be able to recover the value of your investment, and any of us should be prepared for those kinds of scenarios, even if we might consider them to be low probabilities, they are not zero probability outcomes.

You seem to be thinking about the idea  of "don't invest more than you can afford to lose" in the wrong way, and surely any of us could end up losing, even if we do the right thing... Sure, losing might be a low probability event, but it is a non-zero scenario, and if you are failing/refusing to account for that, then you are likely not allocated and/or diversified properly.

Don't get me wrong.  I do not agree with the concept of diversifying for the mere sake of diversification, and surely I don't believe that fucking around with shitcoins is actually sufficient diversification, since they are all dependent upon bitcoin's performance... but if you start to acquire a lot of bitcoin, and let's say 2-5 years of your annual income is in bitcoin, and you don't have any other investments, you might well start to consider that you are not sufficiently hedged for the possibility that your bitcoin investment might go to zero.  Sure, the younger that you are, then maybe the longer timeline that you have to build your investment, so part of the reason that young people can afford to be more risky than older people because if you are getting to be in your late 40s or older, you are not going to be able to tolerate losing everything as much as someone in their early to late 20s.

Surely, I have been an advocate for concentrating your investment in your earlier years, while you are building your investment portfolio, but once your investment portfolio gets to a certain size, there is a need to protect against the going to zero scenarios of any of the assets contained within your investment portfolio, even if you consider those going to zero scenarios to be quite low.

I think for this matter regardless of being a maximalist or not as long as we hold bitcoin in the right way as an investor then we will benefit.
The debate about bitcoin and altcoins I think is not one of the things that can be done because we know that the result remains when talking about opportunities that bitcoin is very much superior.
But indeed we are adults to think about what we want to achieve, I want to focus on the bitcoin I have now and the goal is clear with the progress of bitcoin now.
On the other hand, I also will not be firm with my choice by assuming others are wrong because in the end they also have their own ways such as being in altcoins when it is their choice then do it.
I don't consider myself a maximalist in this regard but I love bitcoin and regardless of how people view it with maximalists or not I don't really have a problem with it.

You don't have to know a good bitcoin investor, is there any golden cup or prize to win if you are a good bitcoin investor? I guess not, so why is your title saying how to know a good Bitcoin investor? There are many and most don't like talking about it in the public, because it's way more safer not to discuss about your Bitcoin holding with anyone and some strategy works for some numbers of people while other people come up with their own ways, I don't want to know how to identify good Bitcoin holder, whatever you have in plan for your future make sure that you don't leave Bitcoin out of it.

There are so many things that makes a good bitcoin investor for me all of them is openness and honesty. And they adopt a strategic thinking and their attention is not divided. It is important to note and study Bitcoin and those in it to be able to pick out the good from the bad ones.

Now the good and bad evidence has been clearly seen in cryptocurrency assets and Bitcoin is still very superior and cannot be beaten by other cryptocurrencies so that investors are very aware of this. I am quite sure that there are still more Bitcoin investors than other cryptocurrency investors and of course they have all been very well so far because the condition of self-price improvement in Bitcoin has also become increasingly evident in the market.

And I believe that this year there will continue to be investors who want to invest their money in Bitcoin because they are also quite confident and hope that next year can be better than this year, especially at the price of Bitcoin in the market.

* they're futuristic
* they're planners
* they're financial manager
* they're risk managers
* they're projected

That's how to know a good investors of bitcoin who do not see challenges but the possibilities of making their future work.
Bitcoin is a good assets to invest on but it's also has it own risk which you must learn.
I think the supply of Bitcoin or other currencies is limited but if we do it based on demand then their price will go above them, in that case we want the price to go up. If we invest in Bitcoin, we want the price to increase, only then will our profit come. I bought bitcoins so much money in profit you can buy it a place to make good opportunities you will hear from different people. No one can say that he is a good investor. You won't need any help to become a good investor. With your patience, will power, intelligence, right thinking you can become a right investor.

The focus is now back on what we want to aim for. I don't really understand some things whether it's technical analysis or whatever because I'm not into that but I still believe that when we hold bitcoin and act as a good investor then everything will work out.
There is no need for a lot of frills whether we are a good investor or not because we just have to focus on the goal where we invest in bitcoin with the confidence we have and hold until the target we want is achieved.
Bitcoin is one of the things that is very feasible and when seeing progress then in this case we must also be feasible and confident in holding bitcoin as an investment that we have.

Bitcoin is your religion! Its almost a religious faith that Bitcoin will lead us to permanent gains. After a decade of resilience and progress, Bitcoin inspires amazement in us all.

The crypto market has many heads, and while Bitcoin is the alpha, it doesn't hurt to diversify and investigate other coins. Im not disputing Bitcoin's superiority, but in a volatile market like cryptocurrencies, its smart to hedge. Be a Bitcoin believer but open-minded.

^ I like your perspective of view here as an investor and that is what I am doing right now to stick on BTC whatever it is.
BTC has shown tremendous growth and potential and we all know that it is important to recognize that no investment is entirely risk-free. By having a substantial portion of your assets tied to BTC, you become more susceptible to its price fluctuations and overall performance.
I think being a good investor starts with being a BTC enthusiast that no matter what it takes, you will never let go of your BTC holding hoping for a better reward in the future which is proven and tested from the past years.
